Integra, sighing: We have couples that shouldn't even be together...
Makube: Eh? What do you mean?
Integra: Father Anderson loves the church, Alucard spites god. TJ is a bug person and Maxwell will spontaneously combust around a mosquito. Pip is an outgoing person and a 'if oranges are called oranges, why are limes and lemons not greens and yellows'-dude while Seras may be a bit shy but has at least three braincells
Makube:
Makube, sighing too: Understandable

the monster in her eyes [chapter 3]
Tumblr media
pairing: alucard / original female character
summary: years after the death of integra hellsing, a young woman moves into the hellsing estate to start a new life after events happened in her home country. a new butler has been appointed to take care of the estate, which includes the monsters that have been dormant since integra’s death. but her will states that the new owner of the hellsing estate also owns everything belonging to hellsing, including the vampires that lay within.
rating: e
by friday, shelby was adjusting to life living in the hellsing estate. she got to know some of her security, seras and learned even more about alucard. she was standing at the door waiting for walter when he came over, holding a sealed letter in his hand.
         “what’s that?”
“a letter, addressed to you,” he replied.
shelby took the letter from him and opened it up, beginning to read aloud. “dear miss shelby o’viere-hellsing, it has come to our attention that you have settled into the hellsing estate. we would like to meet with you in order to introduce ourselves to you. we are your allies. please meet us at this address for lunch at 2 pm on january 5th, 2069. we look forward to meeting you. signed…..iscariot,”
walter’s eyes widened softly before he sighed. “i knew this was going to happen.”
“well, it’s a good thing you informed me about them,” shelby said, folding up the letter neatly and slipping it into her bag. “let’s go. doctor, then we’ll go to the restaurant,”
the appointment took longer than expected due to her being a new patient at the hospital, but all of her blood work looked good. they had received her medical records from her previous doctor. as one pm rolled around, they drove through london to arrive at the restaurant about fifteen minutes till two.
“are you alright, miss?” walter asked.
         “just nervous,” shelby replied.
“i know for a fact that alucard is nearby, waiting for the perfect time to reveal himself. iscariot doesn’t know he’s back,”
         “even after thirty some years?”
“there wasn’t anything to worry about when he came back, so we saw no need to tell them,” walter said.
shelby wasn’t looking forward to this.
as one o’clock came around, they walked into the restaurant and let the hostess know that they were meeting someone for lunch here. the hostess grabbed a couple of menus and led them to a private area of the restaurant, where shelby saw a man and a woman sitting at a table. one man looked middle-aged, with a scar on his face and the other looked younger, with scars on her face that looked as though she had serious injury. the oldest of the two stood up with a smile when he saw her and walter. “miss shelby o’viere-hellsing?” he asked.
“yes, although you didn’t bother to tell me your name,” she said, approaching the table.
“my apologies, my name is makube and i am the bishop for the iscariot organization,” the man introduced himself. “this is my collegue, heinkel wolfe. we’ve been so excited to meet you,”
         “perhaps you, makube,” heinkel snorted.
walter took a seat next to shelby, remaining on guard.
“now then, why don’t we order lunch first?” makube suggested.
after they ordered food, shelby noticed that heinkel was staring at her intensely. and after a while, she grew irritated. “why do you keep staring at me?” she asked.
“i’m trying to decide the best way to kill you,”
shelby was surprised by heinkel’s answer and she was immediately on her guard. “i haven’t done anything to you. i don’t want enemies. i just came to london to have a fresh start of my life and not be bothered with stressful situations. it seems i can’t even get away from those.”
         “now now-,” makube began.
“did you just threaten my master’s life?”
makube and heinkel froze in their seats as alucard’s voice rang through the room. shelby watched, with hidden satisfaction, as alucard phased through the wall behind shelby’s seat and glared down at heinkel with disgust.
“how dare you threaten her life? any threat to her, is a threat to me.” he snapped, clearly pissed off.
shelby noticed that alucard’s mere presence seemed to unnerve both heinkel and makube, as they both went quiet. alucard leaned over, his tall frame coming up beside shelby. “shall i kill them, master? make them eat their words? we could end the entire organization and be done with them, just give me your orders.”
“so alucard has returned,” makube cleared his throat.
“yes, and he’s not very happy that you threatened our master,” walter said.
“there will be no killing,” shelby said, with a strained tone. “i don’t want any bloodshed. i’m just trying to get through my mess of a life,”
heinkel huffed, going quiet. alucard made a noise underneath his breath and vanished into the wall.
“we just wanted to introduce ourselves to you, that is all,” makube said, honesty in his tone.
         somehow, shelby didn’t believe him.
         ~ ~
when they got back to the manor, seras greeted shelby with a smile, but immediately noticed her master looked off. “oh, master, are you alright?” she asked.
“i just don’t feel good,” shelby replied.
“come on, let’s get you into the living room,” walter said.
walter guided her into the living room, where she sat down at her favorite corner of the large couch. walter checked her pulse and got her a cold glass of water.
“i assume the meeting didn’t go well?” seras asked.
“it could have been worse,” walter replied.
“heinkel should be glad to have her life,” alucard huffed.
“i don’t want anything to happen,” shelby said. “walter, could you help me to my room? i need to lay down for a while,”
         “of course, miss,” he nodded.
         ~ ~
shelby jerked as she was woken from her nap, a hand on her shoulder. she sat up quickly, seeing walter above her. “walter, what is it?”
“there’s been a vampire attack at a small village east of here,”
         well, shit.
         ~ ~
they arrived on the scene, just a couple of miles outside of the village, where the attacks had happened. shelby and walter walked into the tent that held local police and what looked like a few supernatural hunters, which she did recognize due to her research.
“and who are you?” one of the hunters asked, looking shelby up and down, green eyes narrowed in distrust.
“my name is walter c. dornez and this is miss shelby elizabeth o’viere-hellsing,” walter introduced them.
“a hellsing?” another hunter asked. “i thought integra didn’t have a daughter?”
“she doesn’t. miss o’viere-hellsing is the newest owner of the hellsing estate, and the organization,” walter replied. “you will show her respect,”
         “or what?”
“or else i’ll tear you limb from useless limb and let the dogs eat what’s left of you,” alucard’s voice was heard just as he walked into the tent, red eyes glowing from behind his glasses.
“do you have to threaten every person who throws useless slander towards me?” shelby asked, turning her gaze to the vampire. “they’re just words. they’re harmless,”
“until they’re not,” alucard added. “now, my master, what are my orders?”
shelby glanced over to walter, who gave a single nod. shelby turned her attention back to alucard and cleared her throat. “your orders are simple, alucard. find the vampire and destroy them, along with whatever ghouls they have created.”
alucard grinned widely, chuckling. “finally, you have given me my orders. as you command, my master.”
and he was gone, vanishing into thin air.
walter pulled out a chair and shelby sat down in it, resting her leg. she rubbed at her temple, already gaining a headache from the stress of tonight. she never, ever expected to command a vampire to kill another vampire.
“who the hell was that?” the hunter with green eyes asked.
“that was our finest weapon,” walter answered, raising a hand in the air slightly, palm up. “alucard is our solution to these types of attacks. he’s the best of the best,”
“so what is he?” the green-eyed hunter asked.
“alucard is a vampire,” shelby replied before walter could. “although he’s been specifically designed to kill other vampires. he’s a monster that kills other monsters,”
the hunters exchanged looks with each other before the green-eyed one sighed, turning to shelby. she took note of his features now. older, salt and pepper hair with a beard to match, and those stunning green eyes. “my apologies, miss. you see, we’ve been tracking this vampire and his group for a month now and he has slaughtered civilians all the way from germany.”
“germany?” she asked, turning her head slightly towards walter. “why weren’t we aware of these attacks?”
“i’m afraid i don’t have an answer for you, ma’am.” walter replied, shaking his head. “this is the first time i’ve heard about this,”
         “i see,” she said softly.
“my apologies miss,” the green-eyed man spoke. “My name is shawn o’riley, i’m the captain of delta-force 20. we’re an independent vampire hunting group who specialize in smaller attacks. we’ve been operating for ten years now,”
“despite the circumstances, it’s a pleasure to meet you, captain,” shelby said. “alucard will take care of the vampire,”
as she finished her words, she heard gunshots in the distance, causing walter to lift his head slightly. “ah, sounds like he’s dispatching them now,” he said with a chuckle.
shelby felt a chill go up her spine without warning and her brain registered that danger was near. she stood up quickly, nearly knocking her chair to the floor. “we have to get out,”
         “ma’am, what’s-?”
“we have to get out now!”
almost on cue, screams erupted outside the tent and shawn yelled at his team to head outside to take care of it. “stay here, ma’am!” walter told shelby, rushing outside to see what was going on.
moments later, a slumbering figure lurched into the tent, groaning gutterally. shelby whipped out her gun and pulled the trigger, shooting the ghoul in the head. despite walter’s orders, she went outside and saw ghouls that had begun coming out of the forest around them. shit. shelby shot a couple of more ghouls down before she was suddenly hit in the side roughly and fell to the ground with a hard thud.
“damnit,” she hissed, scraping her palms on the rocks. as she looked above her, she saw a female vampire grinning down at her, red eyes glowing brightly with hunger.
         “you smell delicious,” she purred.
shelby yanked her gun from the ground and fired off the last rounds in the champer, hitting the vampire in the chest and shoulder. as the vampire was distracted with healing herself, shelby quickly got up and grabbed her cane, before she raised a leg and brought it down, snapping her cane in half. she could always get a new cane. she rushed towards the vampire, aiming to stake her through the heart, but the vampire healed quickly and moved slightly off to the side, her right hand grabbing onto shelby’s left wrist tightly. she could feel the bones protesting and creaking and as the vampire tightened her grip to impossible levels, shelby felt bones in her wrist and in her entire hand break. a scream of absolute agony escaped from her throat.
“that’s it, scream!” the female vampire laughed.
shelby reacted quickly. she brought her other hand up, fingers curled into a tight fist and slammed her fist into the vampire’s face, causing her eyes to widen in surprise as the punch sent her careening to the ground. shelby was surprised herself, and she felt a deadly headache coming down on her. the feeling of something dripping down her nose and she new her nose was bleeding.
         what the fuck was that?
“ma’am!” she heard walter shout out.
“you fucking…..bitch,” the female vampire gritted out, glaring at shelby with murderous intent. “you hit me….i think instead of turning you, i’m going to eat you alive!”
         the vampire lunged, jaw unhinged.
         master!
two things happened at once. first, shelby felt an arm wrapping around her middle and literally pulling her out of the vampire’s path, to which she was pulled against a cold body. the second, was that the female vampire was no longer lunging, but instead, was impaled on a tree branch, blood dripping down the smaller branches. she was choking on her own blood.
shelby realized that she was pressed up against alucard, who’s hold on her was protective. she had easily recognized the red tie around his neck. alucard’s other arm was outstretched, holding a very large gun. without a word, he pulled the trigger and the bullet fired, hitting the female vampire straight in the heart. she didn’t make a noise as she exploded, blood cascading all over the ground.
and then it began to settle down. a few police officers had been killed in the line of duty, and had already been dispatched before they could turn into ghouls.
“are you alright, master?” alucard questioned as he put away his weapon.
“i-i think so,” she nodded, sniffing softly.
walter came up to them, tenderly taking shelby’s left wrist in his hold. “oh dear. well, it’s broken for sure. let’s get you to the hospital ma’am,”
“okay,” she nodded and turned her gaze back to alucard. “alucard, make sure there’s no ghouls or vampires left behind.”
         “as you command, my master,”
         ~ ~
three hours later, shelby was sitting in a hospital bed with monitors hooked up to her and her wrist and hand bandaged up and in a temporary brace. the doctors had been concerned about her heart, but after a few ekgs, they determined that her heart was fine. walter stayed with her the entire time, taking in key information and writing down notes.
“surgery for your hand and wrist is tomorrow morning,” walter told her once the doctor left and he took a seat next to the bed. “they informed me that despite it’s a traumatic break, the surgery may not fix the damage completely. it would be in the same position as your leg,”
“i figured,” shelby sighed softly. “should’ve known the moment it was broken,”
“my apologies, that i couldn’t prevent this from happening, ma’am,” he said, solemnly.
“it’s not your fault, walter. how were we supposed to know there was two vampires?” she said. “but i’m glad alucard arrived in time. the strangest thing is that, just as the vampire lunged, i heard ‘master’ in my head,”
“interesting,” walter mused, putting a hand to his chin. “it sounds like you two might have formed a telepathic link. it could be because you freely gave your blood to him. usually vampires form a link with their fledglings, not with humans. and the fact that you punched a vampire in the face without breaking that hand….it could be possibly that you have some mental capabilities that we’re not aware of,”
“all i’ve known is my mediumship abilities,” she said, shaking her head. “this is crazy, this is fucking crazy,”
“and you’re handling it very well, ma’am,” walter smiled softly, glancing at the time. “it looks like i’ve got to go back to the manor. two of your security personal will be outside your room at all times. i’ll be back in the morning before your surgery,”
“thank you, walter, for everything. you’ve been so patient with me about this whole situation,” shelby said.
the older man smiled softly and gently placed a hand on her shoulder, giving a soft squeeze. “get some rest, ma’am. i’ll see you in the morning,”
         ~ ~
as one am neared, shelby was finding it hard to doze off despite how exhausted she was. the day had been incredibly stressful and not only that, but the fact that she could have died. she could have met a very gruesome death if it wasn’t for alucard.
god, she didn’t know what to think.
it was strange, weird and downright frightening to think she had a monster at her disposal, that she could give him an order, anything and he would complete it without hesitation. he would hunt for her, kill for her. and shelby wasn’t sure what to think about all of it. she didn’t think of alucard as her pet. he was a vampire, yes, but he was still his own person, with his own thoughts and feelings. he was bound to the hellsing family and now he was bound to her, regardless that she wasn’t a biological hellsing. she didn’t believe herself to be worthy of his respect. he was a powerful, dangerous creature and he worshipped the ground she walked on.
         “master,”
she sat up slowly so she wouldn’t disturb the monitors and turned her attention to the wall on the left of the bed, as alucard phased through the wall and into her hospital room.
“alucard, what’s to report?” she asked.
“all ghouls and vampires have been taken care of,” he replied. “the scene of the second vampire attack has also been taken care of and cleaned up.”
         “was it a random attack?”
“yes, there are no signs of this being orchestrated.” alucard answered, approaching her bed and pushing the chair closer to the bed, before taking a seat in it. “what did the human doctors say?”
“i’m having surgery tomorrow morning to repair the damage,” she replied. “although they said that due to the traumatic break, my wrist and hand risk of not healing completely. it’ll be just like my leg,”
his blood red eyes lowered slightly, as if displeased by that information. “human doctors are useless,” he grumbled.
“they do what they can,” shelby sighed softly. “they can’t fix everything. you did good today, alucard.”
alucard grinned softly, eyes glowing. “did i? am i deserving of a reward?”
“i think so,” she nodded and raised her hand up to her mouth, biting down hard enough on her index finger to draw blood. she didn’t feel much of the pain due to being on some excellent pain medication, so it wasn’t difficult to get blood drawn.
the vampire’s eyes glowed even brighter as shelby slowly held the finger above his face. “open and take your reward,” she commanded softly.
she lowered the digit to the vampire’s waiting mouth and he parted his lips. she placed her finger on his tongue and watched as his eyes closed, tongue coiling around her finger to lap up the blood. the expression on his youthful features was one of satisfaction and dare be said, pleasure. she heard and felt a soft noise reverberate through his chest and she could have sworn it was a moan.
for a reason she couldn’t fathom of thinking of, the noise sent a shudder up her spine.
after a moment, shelby removed her finger from his mouth and grabbed a tissue so she could put pressure on it. “good boy,” she said without thinking.
alucard smiled, the gaze of his blood red eyes turning to fondness. shelby reached forward with the same hand, stroking her fingers through his soft, dark hair, almost as if he was a pet of sorts. a rumble echoed through him and he lowered his head onto her lap, an arm resting on the bed just above her thighs. he hummed, content.
shelby somehow knew the next days were going to be easier.

Iscariot members finding out their s/o is a vampire?
Father Anderson
Tumblr media
He has a job. He has a mission. He tries to protect them for as long as possible, but he knows that it won’t be long before he’s given the order. He’ll make it fast and painless. And he will not cry. But when he is along he’ll go under some water and scream. He will let it all out. He will not be sad when he mourns them, no it will be pure anger. Anger at himself, anger at Maxwell, anger at the demon that turned them.
Bishop Maxwell
Tumblr media
He is so heartbroken. He trusted them, he loved them, he knows that they are the same person. But he knows that as soon as they are found out he will have to give the order. He’ll be trying not to cry as he tells Anderson to do what has to be done. Just a simple request of him collecting them necklace and making painless. Anderson does as order and leaves the bishop to cry over them.
Chief Makube
Tumblr media
After he gave the order to end their unlife, he wouldn’t show how much he was hurting. But when he was alone he would text their cell and tell them how much he misses them and how much of a failure he was for not protecting them He would call their cell phone just to hear the voicemail.
Sister Wolfe
Tumblr media
She would do it herself. She would say goodbye to them and kiss them one last time. She would have them close their eyes. She found remind herself of the good times, shedding a single tear as she pulls the trigger. She’ll stand there for a few hours before returning to suffer in silence.
Sister Tagaki
Tumblr media
She cries so much she can’t breath. She couldn’t do it herself. So Heinkel did it for her. She knows that this is what was going to happen. She is tore between complete denial and acceptance. Yumiko can’t bear to look at Maxwell who gave the orders, and Yumie has tried many times to physically hurt her childhood friend. Time heals all wounds and she prays that she will heal quickly.

👤+ Makube
“Makube, huh...” Heinkel had to get used to the fact that some things that she had done before without even giving a second thought now were more difficult to do. Take, for instance, smoking, a habit Anderson used to scold her for. How one smokes with both of the cheeks blown the hell away? The answer is – with much effort.
She sucked the air roughly and strongly so that the smoke would actually get into her throat and lungs instead of being wasted running through the holes in what her cheeks used to be. That came with a sound similar to a snort as if she was about to spit some slime which she didn’t. That, her smoking, wasn’t nice. Nothing was nice about Heinkel anymore and she couldn’t care less.
Makube was... different. She couldn’t help but ccompare him to Maxwell and sometimes felt like a traitor admitting that this man was a much better leader Iscariots could wish for than Maxwell used to be. It felt like backstabbing to the memory of Enrico and still it was true. Makube was more rational, less emotional, older, and wiser than Maxwell. He was a real find for Iscariots, he was golden and Heinkel would trade him and his golden wisdom and great leadership skills in a second just to see Enrico one more time nodding to her that special nod she knew that meant “get rid of that bastard over there and do it quick”. That wasn’t fair to Makube but fuck being fair. Nothing was fair.
“Makube is a professional. One might say he was a God’s gift to Iscariots when we desperately needed a gift of a sort... One would be wrong. God never sends us gifts but only the things we can handle. We handled Makube, Makube handled us... and, hopefully, will handle for many more years to come in the name of Jesus Christ”, speaking this long was hard. Even harder it was not to sound cynical, even venomous.
“Makube managed to achieve the impossible. He found the way to talk to Hellsing so she would listen. That’s an achievement.”
The impossible... Heinkel wanted the other impossible. Because, you see, Makube was something else beyond being a bishop, a leader of Iscariots and a smooth politician.
Makube was a necromancer.
“You do not want that, Heinkel. And it has been too long anyway. The souls of the dead should rest in peace... and as an Iscariot she is right now fighting demons alongside with Anderson. I am sorry for you loss.”
Makube was a great chief, after all. She told him to go and fuck himself back then and got away with that. She told him lots of things back then.
“He is alright.”

Okay just had another question, sorry if it's a lot. What are you opinions on Father/Bishop Makube? I heard the position of Iscariot head was between the two of you. Hope that there are no hurt feeling or possible overthrow, because I saw him walk through a wall. That's some spooky shit, matter of fact is he supernatural?
There are people who are dangerous as enemies. There are people who are dangerous as friends. Makube seemed to combine that – he was as a dangerous enemy as he was a friend.  And he was a friend, alright.
Sometimes Enrico imagined himself as the Sun. He was in the center of his own Universe and he was the Sun. Planets were rotating around him. There were planets of the inner circle – Alex, Yumie, and Heinkel. There were outer planets, the Iscariots, people Maxwell worked with and whose wellbeing was of interest to him.
And there was Makube. He wasn’t a planet, he was a comet. He would appear, shine and disappear again. But Maxwell always knew he would come back.
“Makube is a friend of mine. We share the same passion for serving the Lord and Holy Church.” They shared many other passions as well.
“I am sure that you saw it wrong. He surely knows a lot but he is a man, not a ghost. And he is pretty... tangible. Though I wouldn’t recommend touching him. For one, it would be just rude...”
Makube never walked through walls. He always knocked on the doors and joked that “the ones like us should be granted permission to walk in”. Maxwell was patiently waiting for the moment that joke would become old... it never did. The things Enrico did notice... was that after Makube’s visits any plants occasionally left in his office would die in a day or so. And pigeons... those disgusting creatures all the tourists enjoyed feeding so much – they were positively terrified by Makube. Enrico could always tell when Makube was approaching if they had agreed to meet somewhere outside because the pigeons would suddenly and quickly fly away for no apparent reason... and a few minutes later Makube would appear with his polite smile that had the sweetness of formalin in it.
“They made you the leader of Iscariot.” “And you are mad about that choice.” “No. I am displeased...” “But?” “Why did you think there was but?” “It’s either a but or buttocks. I sense such things.” Makube laughed. He had beautiful laughter. “So?” “I am displeased. But I will wait.” That might have sounded like a warning... but intuitive as he was, Enrico sensed no threat from this man. “How old are you really?” “My file will give you all the answers you seek.” They both knew that his file would tell nothing.
“When you are finally done waiting, Makube...” “Yes?” “Take care of everything. And everyone.” “Yes.” These were the last words they spoke to each other before Maxwell left for the 9th Crusade.

@hierarcha / ✟
Makube might consider himself suave and clean, but to the Regenerator, who’s never particularly taken to him, the bishop is not much more than an oily irritation they can’t seem to be rid of. They don’t, however, need to like him to recognise that he’s done a half-decent job at recobbling the tatters the crusade left Iscariot.
Heinkel’s pretty much the only tattered thing remaining these days.
Except maybe the corpse they’ve left sitting in the interrogation cell. At least it had the decency to actually die, which is something they haven’t managed to accomplish yet. (They’ve stopped trying, for the most part.)
It’s a pity the reaction they get from the director is minimal. For all they’ve put Makube through, he’s managed to stay surprisingly level-headed—at least towards them. At first Heinkel resented it, thinking he pitied them, but over last few years the two of them seem to have come to an unspoken understanding: Makube doesn’t try to fix them, and Heinkel respects his authority (at least somewhat).
And the bishop’s gotten better at hiding the hint of sympathy in his eyes.
There’s no compassion at all now, as that head thumps into a wastebasket, and Heinkel begrudgingly approves. He’s less high-strung than Iscariot’s last leader, still something of a narcissist, but doesn’t seem the kind for grandiose acts of war.
That doesn’t stop them momentarily scowling in distaste at ‘friend’.
They don’t have friends—don’t need or want them—but they do agree with Makube’s other assessment. That head was their last lead for the time being. Digging up another will take months.
Makube’s question has them pause mid-turn and snort in what might be amusement. Raising their right, mechanical hand, Heinkel flexes it slowly before uttering a single word through their gruesome smile.

Maxwell was finished with a rather stressful day of paperwork. Pouring himself a glass of wine, he was about to take a sip when someone knocked and peeked inside. "Yes?" It was Makube...
Tumblr media
“Another tiring day? I doubt drinking isn’t going to solve anything. Maybe you would like to talk about it?” He walked in and sat down across from the stressed-out bishop, a smirk planted across his face.

Makube headcanon of the day; animals HATE him, they intentionally avoid him. Dogs bark at him and cats hiss at him and also horses get spooked whenever he's near.
Even bugs don't want to be in his presence.
