What if I made really self indulgent Mulan inspired au with Bev as the lead?? What then???

It's like the 1910s or some shit and there's a (fictional) war where every family has to send at least one man from their family to participate and Beverly is faced with one hell of a predicament. She hates her dad, but it being the 1910s and her being an unmarried you a girl puts her in a very comprimising position in life if her father were to die. Alvin Marsh ain't surving no god damn war, dude can barely survive walking into the den with out drunkenly stumbling over his own feet. So Beverly cuts off all her hair and gears up to go to war on his behalf.

She lies to everybody and says her name is just Bev so she doesn't have to worry about getting confused from being called by a different name. Then she meets the rest of the losers who are all a bunch of scrappy young dorks that have strong hearts but aren't at all prepared for a war. Their weakness is made even worse by the fact some asshole named Henry is so determined to impress his military dad he's taken to undermining everyone around him, especially Bev.

Keep in mind, she's not instantly good at it all, she's pretty terrible at most military stuff, but she's good enough it makes Henry feel threatened and like he has to show her up. She's a natural with aim and can stab people like no business, but strength is not her fortay. She learns though, all the losers learn one way or another, and Bev is partly to thank for that. Of course her secret gets revealed by Henry at some point because he's a bitch like that, but for the time being things are going fairly well all things considered. Also Ben has a bisexual awakening from this, and I could not be prouder for him.

and with this revelation in hand, my favorite Losers and I, aware that some people have been seeing my platform, have decided to all come out to remind Tumblr, the little fandom of our fun little club, and the fellow Derry protectors that we, and all queer people, were BORN THIS WAY.

I’m Beverly Marsh, and I am bisexual. I’m going out with Ben, but I have always had feelings for men and women, and I always will. I’m a bi who rides a bicycle!! Yeah, Richie thought that was funny but I’m not so sure. I’m honestly a bit of a butch if you ask me.

Bill is proudly bisexual. He never had to come out; we all sort of knew it and so did he. I’ve caught him giving googly eyes at both Natasha Romanoff AND Thor when Stan makes us watch his superhero movies (Stan shockingly likes them; Eddie points out all the factual inaccuracies and parts where the characters should logistically get sick, mortally wounded, or die).

Richie Trashmouth Tozier is the loudest, proudest, craziest gay man (scratch that— man in general; who else would call blood “Hamburger Helper”?) I know. He’s flamboyant sometimes, funny, and proudly with Eddie. He also insists on saying “caca” instead of “shit”. I don’t know why but that sets off my gaydar SO much.

Eddie Kaspbrack is also a gay man. He says he’s a bit more subtle (he likes drag, but personally wouldn’t do it) but it’s obvious from the way he looks at his boyfriend Richie that he is a.. germ-repellent rainbow! He has shorts with rainbows on them, come ON guys.

Mike is AroAce. He isn’t sure where he falls on the spectrum exactly, but has never thought about romance or attraction. He’s more big on history and ensuring Derry remains safe! A noble goal. Lucky we’ll be here to help him out!

Stan is questioning a bit; he isn’t too big on who he’s attracted to. So far he says he’s a straight ally, but isn’t entirely sure and thinks this could change one day. Well, we’ll be here to support Stan the Man anyhow.

And I think it’s painstakingly obvious from this quote I found on the IT Tumblr— all credit goes to the original poster, this is NOT mine —that the Beautiful Enigmatic Nervously-awesome poet of the group is a straight ally:
