PTV 250 (the Spanish microcar that appeared on the car market too late)
Comapred with the austerity of the Biscutter, the PTV 250 presented itself as a more elaborate creation. In fact, its carefully designed bodywork was closer to the Goggomobil than to the segment leader. In addition, the interior space was also larger. Being able to house two to three people in the width of its continuous seat seated on the tubular steel chassis. All this with a weight of 330 kilos. With regard to mechanics, the PTV 250 had a 247cc single-cylinder of its own manufacture -AUSA- capable of delivering 13CV to reach up to 75 kilometers per hour. Quite powerful figures for the world of microcars, only being able to be compared with the Biscúter “Pegasín” bodied by Pedro Serra. Another vehicle that came to interpret the last chapter of these models in Spain, which would be overwhelmed by the appearance in 1957 of the popular and cheap SEAT 600. A small car, but at the same time a much more interesting car in all respects. aspects than the PTV 250 or the Biscúter.

my ultimate guide to nottingham, england
it has been exactly one week since i arrived home from spending three weeks in nottingham with my best friend. england has come to feel like a second home to me. it is the only place outside of the states that i have spent the most amount of time. england has a regalness to it that i miss here in colorado. people dress sharper. they have a more mature view of social gatherings. and community is displayed as a high priority.
so for those of you who find yourselves looking at a trip to england, i would highly recommend a day or two in nottingham. it isn’t as fast paced as london, but it has a way of making you feel right at home. i have composed an ultimate guide to some more unique things you should see and do in nottingham.
one. the city center. depending on the season you go, the city center is decorated into an attraction site. in summer, it is filled with sand and beach necessities so that you can have your own beach holiday. for halloween, haunted houses and scare mazes are set up along with food vendors and rides. for christmas, an ice rink and ice bar are featured with several christmas boutiques. if nothing is set up, it’s a great place to sit and people watch.
two. pitcher and piano. it is a converted cathedral turned restraunt/bar. it has huge stain glass windows, an open floor plan so you can see from the front to the back, high cielings, and amazing coconut flavored lattes.
three. a walk along the canal. it is a break off of the river trent and stretches along the edge of the city. i walked along it for about a mile as cyclists and other pedestrians traveled. it was very serene and i went at twilight, so the light of the sunset against the water made it extra calming.
four. attenborough nature reserve. this is another idea for the nature lover. it is outside of downtown nottingham, but worth the drive. you can make your walk long or short, depending on the turns you take along the path. we walked by canals and were inclosed in trees. there is also a cafe at the start of the path, so you can take a coffee or meat pie with you in the fall to stay warm.
five. coffee shops! there were multiple cute coffee shops i found that are must visits. forget nero cafe or starbucks and check out one of the following: 200 degrees, the specialty coffee shop, wired cafe bar, the bakehouse, cartwheel cafe and roastery, and fox cafe. they each have insta worthy vibes!
six. curious manner. it is a mix between alice and wonderland, tim burton, and urban outfitters. they do afternoon tea all day, cocktails, and delicious food. located on the second floor with floor to cieling windows, it has views of the bustling street. the seating is over the top, the decor is fabulous, and there is seating areas in all the nooks of this vibey place. i recommend going at night when the candles are lit and the lighting is low. bring your camera here too.
seven. heart church. if you go to church, you will love the home you find in heart church. this lively, four service church is full of multi-gerneration people on fire for Jesus. the worship is contemporary, the sermons are powerful, and the people are even better! if you want to listen to any of the previous or upcoming sermons, check out http://heart.church/media .
eight. the crimson tree. there are chandeliers, velvet booths, unique tea cups and saucers, flowers at each table, loud wallpaper, and twinkly lights hanging from the cieling. i highly recommend this shop for an afternoon tea experience. it is the modern girls version of an old school tradition.
nine. this next one is a piece of advice. walk everywhere you can. my rule of thumb is that if it takes less than thirty minutes to walk to a place, i walk. otherwise i use the bus or a car. walking allows you to see things you normally wouldn’t, get good exercise, and interact with the people. it also is the way of the locals, so you’ll fit in better. that being said, bring a pair of sneakers!
ten. body craft. if you are looking to get piercing jewelry or to get pierced, body craft is the place to go. the customer service there is outstanding and the pricing is equivalent, if not cheaper, to prices in the USA. plus how fun would it be to say you got a new piercing while in england?
eleven. if you like candy, you might just love squashies. it became my mini addiction while there. it is a candy i think only popular in england because i’ve never seen them in the states. they are soft, chewy, and the classic flavors of raspberry and milk are so delicious. you can get them at any grocery store or dollar store. try them! you might just get hooked.
twelve. here are some of the places i would recommend to eat: bunk, they specialize in wings. nando’s, they specialize in chicken. zaap, they specialize in thai street food. sexy momma loves spagehetti, they specialize in pasta dishes. baresca, they specialize in tapas.
thirteen. if you are looking for a place to have a drink, pepper rocks is my recommendation. they hand out free popcorn as you enter and have two levels of cozy seating areas. leather couches, fabric arm chairs, candles, plants everywhere, low lighting. the atmospehere guarantees an amazing night out.
fourteen. if you like donuts, look no further than doughnotts. it is underground and a local secret. they remind me of vodoo donuts. chocolate bars on top, nutella fillings, biscutt crumbles. over the top is their style. they also serve coffee if you want to sit and enjoy your donut.
fifteen. my last piece of advice is for what to wear. style up. most people in nottingham dress like they are going to run into people they know. fur coats, stylish sneakers, hair done, makeup on point, cute hand bags. when choosing what to pack, pick pieces that have some flare to them. wear what you would wear on a date or to drinks with a friend. even if you’re just going to grab a coffee, dress up. add the dramatic necklace, wear the sparkly eyeshadow, style with a brixton fiddler cap. plus, you’ll always be ready for a mini photo sesh.
i hope you enjoyed my ultimate guide to nottingham. it really is a city worth spending time in. i call it home, and maybe one day you will too!
