so someone, somewhere, commented on the birth scene, about the placenta. i meant to reply but i didn't and now i can't find it! so i'll just say it here and hope it reaches that person so content warning birth stuff ahead:

after delivery of the baby comes the afterbirth which includes delivery of the placenta. in cases of multiples, the amount of placenta can vary. some twins share one, some twins have each of their own. with triplets, it can be any combination.

in real life, if a mutliple pregnancy only includes only one placenta, most times doctors will recommend a c-section, as leaving the second baby in the womb after its placenta has been delivered is dangerous. the vast majority of multiple vaginal births are for multiple placenta pregnancies.

in that same vein, irl, water births are not done for multiples, because you'd have baby, placenta, baby, placenta, in the water. that would be, scientifically speaking, gross. that's why i wrote amorette cleaning out the pool with magic in between birth and afterbirth. so if you ever find yourself pregnant with triplets, please note, unless you have a faerie midwife/ob/gyn, you are not going to be permitted to have a water birth.
