Trapeze Artiste Bohemian waxwings are very agile. They can hang upside down, hover, and bend, twist, and stretch into almost any position if it means a berry reward. Northern Harrier ♂️& Zebras Well, I call them the Zebras. I'm not sure if they have a name even in the Peakfinder app. Having finished his rounds above Schitz Atnu and surrounds behind the dunes, this harrier soared to great heights for a harrier. Heading upstream, he was contemplating whether to check the Flats across the River, veering away from me as he went. Suddenly, however, he changed his mind. As long as he was this high, he was already at ground level for the Spur View Picnic Grounds. He could then make his way down the hill using the cannery roads. Perhaps he wouldn't return empty-taloned. Raven and Eagle Advanced Flight School has begun. Raven finds a stick, which it prominently displays in its beak or claws. It taunts the eagles. The eagles try desperately to get it. They ride the air currents along the bluff, and up and down, improving their manoeuvrability as they go. Funny thing is, if the raven drops the stick, the eagles never go after it. When the Ravens play this game amongst themselves it is truly the objective. In cross-species games I think it is more symbolic, signaling a game: "I'll teach you, and let you practice on me, so long as you leave me and my kind alone in the future." That, or: "I'm far more agile than you, don't even bother." Either way, it seems to work. I've never seen the eagles around here predating on any of the plentiful corvids.
