I’m far from the first person to point this out, but Rick often freezes up or moves away when someone touches him or comes too close. He does this pretty visibly when first meeting Birdperson

But something I haven’t been able to stop thinking about….

Later, when he asks Birdperson to come with him. When he finally is actually reaching out for him, both physically and emotionally ….
