Anyhow, Mugihito and director Takamatsu seem to be lively and that's good! I'm good, too! I also recorded for the movie in good spirits! If everyone watching it could get rid of their worries and fatigue, then they'd be in good spirits too! [1] Thank you in advance!

Congratulations on 10 years! Over a period of 10 years, the radiance of love has not disappeared and love is eternal - I feel those are strong messages to get.

But, sure enough, Boueibu is chaotic! (LOL) With it, there's really a laugh around every corner [3]. Surprise, letting [everyone] show off, heart pounding, laughs, big excitement - it'll become that kind of movie experience!

Enough time has passed that it feels a bit nostalgic - it's reasonable to say our memories have faded. In that sense, it's a frightening work. *laughs*

Thursday's For The Boys! 1

Season 1 - Episodes 1-3

Episode 1:

- Man, when i first watched this back in the day i had no idea how much of an impact itd have on my life.

- boueibu is so full of japanese wordplay i can tell When theyre making a joke but not What the joke is. Tbh watching boueibu really helped my anime-watching comprehension cuz it taught me to think 'im sure this makes more sense in japanese'

- Once again I forgot that Atsushi is the class lead, surprised that didnt come up more in the plot ?

- Love how Shirai Yusuke began his career voicing Io, who is relatively formal and mature, to then go on to be a beloved chaos demon in the seiyuu world

- Fun fact the first boueibu fanart i drew was NSFW fanart of yumoto and it will Never see the light of day. Never. I'll just say it involved Love Sticks.

- GOD Im realizing how many times i've seen ep1 bc i was so desperate for More when it first came out, i watched and rewatched ep1 SO many times in that first week

- always loved that Atsushi's love stick is a clover and epinard means spinach. hes just a leaf.

- Will never forgive them for translating "ore-sama faiya" as "i am awesome fire", ore-sama hits so much harder.

- Context for when this first came out: i was in high school but going to community college for high school credit 💅 and intentionally was not making friends bc i was trying to figure out the whole Me situation, so boueibu was so damn important to me at the time

- I took one look at Akoya at the end of this ep and i have never been the same since, it was blorbo at first sight

Episode 2:

- OBVS the seitokai are my favs

- I think around the time this ep came out i was shipping Enatsu and Ioryuu mainly, but was rly ok woth any combo of characters

- i totally understand why En was and is so popular, he rly is the hot one of the main charas

- throwback to a small group of ppl using tawarayama sensei dying as a reason to call the show problematic bc it was making a joke of death 🙄

- zundar said go get that boy with ocd

- KINCHAN LEG, BEST TRANSFORMATION TBH

- ryuu saying 'sense-nai yo' lives in my head

- really incredible how genuinely groundbreaking this was, there wasnt an Actual Genre-Compliant mahou shounen anime before this, or since really.

- MANNN i miss you no 3 meters is just the soundtrack of 2015 for me

Episode 3:

- rly interesting this was the only ep where the enemy was a teacher instead of a student

- unrelated to the ep but Warera Seigi na Caerula Adamas was the best song from s1 hands down

- the binanshi contest existing rly solidified that this is a show for fujin

- ryuu: "theres 100% girls around me all the time!" (never seen with girls)(only ever seen with Io)(goes to all-boys school)

- i loved akoya's beef w ryuu mainly bc it meant i got to see akoya 😋

- ikinari komingu auto?!

- LMAO so many famous scenes in this ep!!! the fuckin bathroom scene with Io kills me still

- this was where i learned the word aniki

- back in the day they used Yumoto not being affected by kurotori's spell as a reason that he's aspec and tbh i still headcanon that for said reason alone

- i know its a hallmark of boueibu but i always wished different characters could give speeches that saved the enemies. imagine T_T

- terra charisma house would approve of this message

Boueibu Happy Kiss ep.1

So, I finally watched this yesterday and thought I could go back and pretend like I still had any sort of significance within this fandom and write down my thoughts before probably going into a (semi?) hiatus. Spoilers ahead for anyone who hasn’t seen it yet, obviously.

- generally I can say I was positively surprised and very well entertained, in five minutes of the first episode I think I already laughed more than over the course of the entire OVA. Good thing the writing is back to its sharp humor. I like to pretend now that the OVA’s poor quality might have been a result of the writing team already planning out Happy Kis, or maybe they’re just back to snuff now. Either way, I laughed a lot :D - One of my favourite things was how incredibly on point Kyoutarou was for allegedly making up a story about aliens and the boys that fought them. Apparently Japanese fans on Twitter counted that Happy Kiss might take place approximately ten years after Love, so I can’t help but wonder if Kyoutarou actually knows more than he lets on... - Shota boy with post-voice crack old man voice was funny as shit. It was very well done by giving him a different inner voice, probably the kind of voice he either had before it cracked or at the very least what he’d wish to have. In any case, this deep voice coming out of this cute kid was sure... confusing x’D - the hair bobbing is out of control holy shit - I was also surprised how resident nerd glasses boy Taishi was the fastest to go like “WANNA FIGHT BITCH”, another thing I‘d have never expected. But it leaves the hope that they won’t just repeat stereotypes they already milked in Love enough and actually play around with them. - not sure if it had been revealed/leaked before and I just didn’t see itm, but damn is Furanui’s animal form adorable omg - wait a sec, a (partially) magical boy anime with plenty of stars and fabulous and shit and a fox-looking mascot? Where have I seen that before... - transformations looked cool, I agree with Twitter that they seem to borrow more from Pretty Cure or Doremi this time rather than Sailor Moon - the transformed Edelstein guys look like bad Fire Emblem rejects xD - overall however, I have to say I’m not really feeling the henshin uniforms this time. The Battle Lovers’ first outfits are still my favourites, design-wise, the current ones might fit the thematics and all, but they’re a bit much, imho. Also, good luck cosplaying those haha - Kyoutarou is fucking savage holy shit. Who would’ve thunk perpetually sleepy dumbass would casually dish out why Japanese otters went extinct and what that could mean for our resident otter mascot... - still wondering if the Binanshi contest pamphlet is parodying something this time as well... unfortunately I don’t watch enough anime to really know orz

Aaaand I think that’s all I remember I wanted to say for now.

I just need to point out why I love so much their transformation’s scene:

3) Akoya is such a mermaid, isn’t he? 💜

2) Ibushi’s wink is so... OMG, he is just too cool for this world!

But my favorite thing is definitely...

1) The hot, confident, DAMN SEXY SMIRK on Kinshirou’s face during transformation is just too much to handle. I mean, after wearing his boots (and quite a leg we have there, boy) he just gives us that side look like he knows we enjoyed what we’ve just seen.

Then he gets his composure back because, of course, it’s Kinshirou Kusatsu we’re talking about, but for a split second he is sexy and he knows it.

Plus, it was right after Atsushi saved En from Zundar’s attack and Kinshirou was just so pissed right before yelling “Conquest!” that I could perfectly imagine two sorts of thoughts going on his mind at that moment:

a) “How dare they almost hurt At-chan??? I’m here to protect him. Some intimate body parts are about to be kicked right now!”

b) “At-chan is putting himself in danger for Yufuin. I shall fight for At-chan with all I’ve got. Legs, do your job!”

Quite probably it was a mix of both of them...

But well, look at that. Sassy!Kin-chan is my new religion.

Some Binanshi Contest Headcanons

1) Atsushi always voted for Kinshirou until befriending Ryuu. After that, he wanted to support his Boueibu friend since Kinshirou didn’t seem to mind the contest that much. But he was kind of proud of Kinshirou’s popularity among students.

2) Kinshirou always voted for Atsushi because, in his mind, Atsushi would have to get on stage if he won and would be utterly embarrassed. Or, at least, that was what he was trying to convince himself of (kind of Ata trying to get Kyoutarou to use thongs? These kinky presidents). He would never tell Akoya about that because his vote would make him win over Ryuu... (Ibushi knew, though. Ibushi always knows).

3) Ibushi had always been the actual winner of the Binanshi Contests because he was handsome AND cool AND gentle AND hot, so he was the most popular boy from the Student Council. However, he always managed to manipulate the results so he wouldn’t ever beat Kinshirou. Because, you know, Kinshirou.

Random guy: And the winner is Ari--

Random guy: K-Kusatsu Kinshirou...

4) After being in good terms with Atsushi again, Kinshirou was planning an aggressive campaign to make him the next winner because At-chan would have to get on stage and be praised by the other students, and that would be really cute to watch (see, item 2 was just a lame excuse). But eventually he had to study abroad and the Beppu twins arrived, so the plan had to be cancelled.

(But he still keeps all the posters he made for the campaign hidden in his bedroom because At-chan’s smile is so precious)
