Teeth
Part 2!
Masterlist
Werepanther!Billy Russo x Female reader.
Warnings: Smut, Anxiety, two dumbasses doing the dumbass dance.
He's hunting.
Like he always does.
It starts with the scent, sweet and decadent, calling out to him. He's weak to his baser needs, desperate for a taste.
The front door shuts behind him, the scent stronger here, pulling him forward on an invisible leash, one he cannot hope to resist.
It's dark, moonlight streams through the gaps in the curtains, he wants the moon to watch him hunt, watch him devour his prey.
He takes a deep breath, parts his lips. He can almost taste it.
Past the kitchen, turning right, down the hall.
He passes other rooms, ripe with the same scent, an office, bathroom, studio, and yet he does not get distracted, does not slow his stedy pace.
He knows what he wants.
He knows where to look.
At the door to the bedroom he takes a quick breath, confirming the right location, before opening the door.
Strawberries.
Sweet and tart, it fills the air, beats like a pulse, saying his name in a language only he can understand.
He makes a low hum of approval.
It wakes her.
A light sleeper, the anxiety of her past experiences makes her alert to him faster. Her mouth parts in a quiet gasp when she sees him, sitting up to observe him clearly.
He cocks his head, studying her fright, the beast inside of him demanding him to protect. To keep her safe from anything... everything that would wish to harm her.
He stalks toward her, he stops at the edge of the bed.
The smell of saccharine fruit makes him dizzy with need.
He reaches, moves slowly so that he doesn't frighten her, pulling the thin white sheet away from her.
She lets him take it, lets him toss it aside, the air between them is filled with so much unsaid words, but he is in no speaking mood.
She pulls her knees to her chest, eyes wide in fear, he looks down, her cunt glistening with arousal.
Surely, she wouldn't mind if he had a taste?
How could he resist?
He presses both palms flat to the bed, her eyes are so vulnerable. The beast inside of him is pleased, satisfied by his mate so openly exposed to him.
For him.
He crawls toward her, every aspect of his predatory nature on high alert. Her body tenses, but she doesn't move. Her fear and her arousal makes him ache, a near painful throb between his legs, seeking his own release.
He drops his head, intent on a peace offering, thinking only of easing her fears as his nose brushes her thigh.
A hitch of her breath, a delicious reaction that he craves, before he's licking over her wet slit.
The taste of her cunt on his tongue makes him moan, he licks her softly at first, he wants her at ease, he wants her to enjoy.
He wants to please.
She gasps, and he takes the opportunity to delve deeper, tongue gently exploring until it grazes her sensitive bundle of nerves. She shudders in bliss.
The beast inside of him purrs, his eyes squeeze shut, his face pressing deeper between her thighs.
She's soft, supple, delicious, femininity in his hands, evidence of her pleasure on his tongue.
He licks at her, his mind calming, pleased at finding what he was looking for, simply appreciating her at this point.
Her breathing is faster, her hands clenched on either side of her. He draws her tight, like a bow on the brink of snapping.
If he could feel her orgasm, he would be able to die a happy man. He wonders briefly what else she is capable of, when just the taste of her cunt can tame the predator inside of him.
She whines, and she gasps, and she cries, she's so close, so deliciously close to peak and it's all because of him, and just a few more swipes of his tongue would make her fall apart-
The buzzing of his phone wakes him.
The anger that tears through him is visceral, potent, he cannot resist grabbing his pillow and throwing it at full force across the room.
It hits the wall with a 'thud,' louder than normal.
He watches the pillow slide to the floor, can almost imagine the look of betrayal on its inanimate face.
The beast is irritable as he reaches for his phone.
"What?" Is all he says as he answers.
Katerina, who has grown used to his venomous tone, barely bats an eye.
"Sir, calling to inform you that a team has been dispatched to the Harvey residence. You told me you wanted to know."
Billy huffs, checks the time, two a.m.
"Let team leader know I'll be on site in ten."
"Are you sure? Sir-"
He doesn't respond, ending the call.
He sits up, takes a deep breath, moves to his bedroom window.
There's a small apartment building built beside his townhouse, three floors high.
On the second floor, the curtains are drawn tight, where other patrons on this side of New York hold no distress for leaving their curtains partially open. He even knows that the woman on the first floor does it on purpose, shows off in an attempt to draw his attention, and yet he's still drawn to the second floor.
To you.
He takes a deep breath, making sure there's no sharp sounds of distress, before he turns away, looking for his tactical gear in an attempt to get ready.
~
William Russo didn't like you one bit.
Though you'd been hired to give him a consult, and he'd chosen your company despite the last few bad reviews, you knew that in the back of your head, your presence was barely tolerated.
You tried to be as sunny as possible, leave no room for him to speak to you the way you'd overheard him speaking to some of his employees.
Sure, they had made easy mistakes, but to err was human, right?
It made you anxious, everyone at your company was on edge, hoping that this job would be an end to the bad streak that had been plaguing you.
You'd almost been swapped out for someone more experienced, until Mister Russo had challenged the idea.
"If you don't trust her work capabilities then why is she on your team?" He'd challenged the night of the dinner where you'd first met.
Your boss had looked almost pale, insisting that you were capable of completing the consultation up to mark.
The comment had made you fight a smile, fully aware that your boss had only invited you along to answer technical questions, and hadn't actually planned for you to take the lead on the project.
William's insistence had ended up giving you the task, whether intentional, or unintentional, you still weren't sure.
Truthfully, he was a difficult man to get a read on. He didn't laugh, barely gave more than a tight smile, and did not engage in small talk at all.
You'd tried to get him to open up, to speak to you, but you'd gotten nowhere, and eventually you'd given up, content to work in silence then, if he would not converse.
You'd spent the last few weeks like that, in this quiet agony, feeling carefully watched everytime he was in the room.
Was he waiting for you to make a mistake?
You weren't going to, you woke up every morning at five to triple check your work, on edge with all the pressure coming at you from all sides.
The panther was the only thing keeping you calm.
After your initial bout of fear, after the shock of hearing bones snapping had worn off, you'd found that reminders of it put you at ease.
When you'd found the tiny gold pendant, nestled into the dark corners of the antique shop, you knew you had to have it.
So today, you'd happily worn it for the first time, trying to complete your job before he gets here, so that you could be out of his hair and away from his uncomfortable stoicism faster.
You were currently under his desk, tracing wires and making notes of the general conditions of things. Your job was to make an assessment of his current IT setup and consult on something more efficient, something that would match the levels of security he required for running his company.
It wasn't too bad currently, but you'd definitely seen improvements that would help strengthen security in the long run.
One of his local IT guys had been accompanying you, but he'd thankfully stepped away and gave you the space to work.
You hum quietly to yourself under his desk, crammed into the little space, trying to confirm model and serial numbers.
"Find what you're looking for?" A voice asks.
You jump so hard that you hit your head against the bottom of the desk.
Pain blooms at the back of your head and you let out a hurt sigh.
"Are you alright?" He asks, no hint of concern in his tone.
"Yeah," you say a little sadly, rubbing the back of your head, embarrassed that he'd startled you.
What did you expect? You were in his office after all, of course he'd come in eventually.
You crawl out slowly, one hand holding on to the book with all of your notes in it.
You rise to your feet, smoothing out your clothes, your sensible shirt tucked into jeans for easy motion paired with a mild formal look.
You smile up at him, touching the back of your head gently to check how much it hurts.
He's got his eyes on you, his face solemn as usual.
"How is it going?" He asks, referring to the job.
"Really well, I'm almost done with my data collection." You reply casually.
"And no problems from my men?" He asks.
Besides the occasional misogyny?
"They're fine." You answer, a little terse, smiling up at him.
He blinks.
"What is it?"
Your eyes widen.
"What's what?"
He folds his arms, leaning against his desk. He looks across the room, to the floor length windows.
"Have they been disrespectful?" He asks, not looking at you.
You watch him closely, heart squeezing at his casual dominance. He probably doesn't even know that he's doing it, a sharp spike of arousal goes through you. You watch him take a deep breath.
"Do you really want to know? Do you think you would take me seriously if I gave you an honest answer?"
His eyes flit to you.
"Have I ever given you a reason to think I wouldn't take you seriously?"
"Not yet." You say ominously, a twitch at the corner of your mouth when he raises his eyebrows at you.
You suck in a breath, looking away.
"I'm used to it, condescension. It's... irritating. I will say, that your employees could definitely use a refresher course on equality in the workplace."
"Noted."
You turn to look up at him, giving him a shy smile.
He probably wouldn't take you seriously, anyway.
"Okay," you say happily, "That's everything. My team will send a proposal within the week, and you'll be able to review."
William nods, the traces of a smile forming at the corner of his lips. Very delectable, dangerously kissable lips.
"Thank you for all your assistance."
You nod, nervously bringing your hand up to touch your necklace before dropping your hand. It draws his attention.
"No problem, have a nice day." You say eagerly, turning on your heel and getting out of there.
You only sigh with relief when you're in the elevator.
He made you feel so on edge, you think you were shaking from the stress of being in the same room as him, desperate to impress him, trying your hardest not to mess this up for the company.
It was stressful how easy it was to talk to him. Ugh why did you mention the equality thing? He probably thought you were trying to tell him how to run his company.
Fucking shit.
Anyways, thankfully, you were done with him, and you didn't have to see him again.
.
She was wearing a symbol of the predator around her neck.
The beast had almost consumed him when he finally noticed. He'd had to grip the desk tightly, fighting the urge to chase, to take, to claim.
You were his, and he knew it, and it had made him happy to see, that on some base level, you knew it too.
He could smell the paranoia coming off of you in waves, and though he wanted to ease your troubles, to soothe your mind from the past traumas, he knew this was not something to be rushed into.
No matter how many times he got lost in dreams of you.
.
.
.
A/N: I'm just playing around on this fine Wednesday morning.

CHAPTER ONE
Master List
Chapter Two
The morning after, it felt like it had all been part of some weird, misremembered dream. The kind of dream that you’d wake from with a sense of longing, wishing that a man like that could be real. But it hadn’t been real. That was the point of The Red Ribbon; nothing that happened there was real.
Still, you found yourself thinking about those dark eyes, about your little game and the things he’d let slip about himself.
Not to mention the way he’d promised to find you again.
You laid in bed, staring up at the ceiling, thinking about how things might be if your life was just a little bit different, if you’d met him somewhere else.
But that was stupid. If you’d met him outside of The Red Ribbon, it would have been you and not Bunny that he’d met, and you were certain that he wouldn’t like who you were behind the mask.
Reluctantly, you pulled yourself from your warm bed and got ready for your day. As you stepped into the foyer of Anvil, you hoped that Mr Russo wouldn’t be there and that he’d been lying about turning up at 5am. All you wanted was a nice, quiet morning where you could get things done without him making you feel like crap.
But you weren’t that lucky.
As you reached your desk, you could hear him on the phone - you only caught snatched words, but it sounded like he was trying to describe someone - but you thought nothing of it as you sat down and opened your laptop.
You were gifted ten wonderful minutes before his office door opened.
“I need everything we have on the Harris deal and I want my lunch at one,” he instructed.
“Yes, Mr Russo,” you said automatically, reaching for a pen. “What would you like for lunch?”
“Fettuccine Alfredo,” he said, “But get it from that place on 53rd, not the place on 38th.”
“Okay. And do you want your morning coffee yet?”
“Yes. In fact, get it as soon as you’ve pulled those files for me,” he continued before pausing a beat, “and don’t make a mess of them.”
“Okay.”
Then he was gone, leaving you to diligently set about your tasks for the day.
Getting his coffee went without a hitch, and so did his lunch order, but the files he requested weren’t so easy.
You managed to get almost all of them ready for him, but there was one - an important financial document, that was giving you problems.
You stared at the screen, trying every way you knew to open the files, only to be met by the same Corrupted File message. You called down to IT, desperately begging someone to come and have a look.
You’d met Ryan on your first day with Anvil, he’d help set up your laptop and give you access to everything you’d need to do the job and, since then, you’d struck up something of a work-friendship with him.
He leaned over you, looking at your laptop, clicking the file and going through - whatever tech magic it was that he thought might salvage the file. Eventually, he managed to find the file and you quickly sent it to print.
“There you go, nothing to it,” he said, smiling down at you, still leaning ever-so close to you.
“You’re a lifesaver, Ryan. Honestly, you have no idea how much shit I’d be in if -”
Ryan pulled back at the sound of a door opening and you both turned to find Billy Russo standing there.
“I was about to ask why my lunch was late, but I guess I don’t have to,” he said in that cold tone he seemed to reserve just for you.
Your eyes widened as you looked at the clock - fuck-fuck-fuck, you were supposed to have picked up his lunch twenty minutes ago.
Ryan muttered something of an apology and hastily made his way towards the door, seeing himself out.
Quickly, you got to your feet, knocking your desk and causing your water bottle to topple, soaking the desk as it rolled off and onto the carpet. You cringed, watching as water dripped off the desk and started to create a puddle on the floor.
“Jesus Christ, can’t you do anything without fucking up?” Russo sighed.
“I’m sorry, Mr Russo - there was an issue with one of the files so -”
“So you had to call someone from IT to come and flirt with you?” He said harshly. “Look, I don’t care about excuses, I just want you to do your fucking job, okay? It’s not fucking hard.”
“Yes, Mr Russo.”
“Now, clean up this fucking mess, and go get me my lunch. If you don’t have it on my desk before my meeting at two, don’t bother coming in tomorrow.”
You managed to hold back tears until his office door was shut, but you didn’t have time to wallow and cry, no matter how much you felt like you needed to. You threw yourself onto hands and knees and quickly mopped up the spillage before racing out of the building to hail a taxi.
He barely even bothered to look at you when you returned with his lunch with only fifteen minutes to spare, and you were almost certain that he’d wanted you to fail. He wanted a reason to fire you.
Dread followed you for the rest of the day, filling your chest like a weight that dragged you down the depths of despair. You weren’t sure what you’d do if you lost your job at Anvil, especially since you were certain that Mr Russo wouldn’t exactly offer you a glowing reference.
On your way home, you checked your bank account and realised that, once again, you were reaching the end of your overdraft. If you lost your job you were going to run out of money and then...
You didn’t want to think about then...
The next day followed the same pattern; the barista at Starbucks managed to fuck up Mr Russo’s coffee order, so he took it out on you, sending you back to get him fresh cup, despite the freezing cold rain.
By the time you were at home preparing for your next shift at The Red Ribbon, you knew what you were going to have to do.
You got there early, before the club even opened and, instead of getting changed straight away, you headed to the manager’s office. Fortunately, unlike your boss at Anvil, Val who ran The Red Ribbon was a lot more... approachable.
You went in with a whole speech prepared, about how you wanted to change your limits, but it wasn’t really needed.
Negotiated touching, meaning that physical touch wasn’t entirely off the table but patrons shouldn’t expect it. They would need to ask or, if the situation called for it, you would need to ask. And, still, you got to set your own limits, you got to say no and have Rocky deal with anyone who pushed your boundaries.
“Are you sure?” Val asked, looking for any sign of doubt. You gave a nod, not trusting your voice to not betray you. “And just what brought on this change of heart?”
You couldn’t tell her about Anvil, about the day job you were certain you were going to lose; it was too high profile, too dangerous, she’d see it as a conflict of interest, and the last thing you needed was for her to fire you.
You managed a shrug. “I just figured it was time. My rent is going up next month and I’m sick of scraping to get by.”
By rights you shouldn’t have been scraping by at all, even with just the money that you made from working at The Red Ribbon. Val shot you a questioning look, but she didn’t say anything, didn’t ask how you managed to burn through so much money so quickly. Everyone at The Red Ribbon had their own stories, you supposed, and you were no different and, while Val always did what she could to make sure everyone was safe and content, ultimately, she was there to make money too.
“Okay, as long as you’re sure you’re happy doing this.”
“I am. Really. I’ll be fine.”
And, that was that.
As you stepped out onto the club floor that night, wearing the fox mask, you were greeted by Rocky. It quickly became clear he knew that you’d changed your limits and, as he fitted your security bracelet for the evening, he was very clear about what you should do if you felt uncomfortable even for a second. Then, he followed you to the fox room and told you he’d be right outside all night.
Everything was fine.
It was shocking just how fine everything was. While touching was allowed, all you got was the occasional pat on the shoulder, a gesture that you returned in kind, but even with just that, you saw an increase in your tips by the end of the night.
Over the next few days, you found yourself almost forgetting about Tall, Dark and Handsome, as you lost yourself in trying to keep your head above water at Anvil, and making more money at The Red Ribbon.
It was a week to the day that you stood in front of the board, checking your room assignment for the night when you noticed that you were in the cat room, one of the smaller rooms in The Red Ribbon, usually only used when there were one or two patrons that wanted private service. There was a note beside your name in brackets; by request.
Some of the hosts had repeat customers, people who were so impressed by their skills that they requested the same host every time, but it was the first time that it had ever happened to you.
It was him.
It had to be him.
Your heart stuttered as you made your way to the cat room, saying a quick hello to Rocky as you got your bracelet fitted. He must have sensed your nervousness because he asked you if you were alright, if you needed him outside the door just in case. You shrugged him off, told him it was fine.
You’d never hosted in the cat room before, so you took a few minutes to familiarise yourself with it and to make sure everything was clean and comfortable.
Then the door opened and your heart threatened to stop completely.
“Bunny.”
His voice sent a shiver down your spine and brought a smile to your lips.
You tapped the cat mask on your face. “Not tonight.”
“You can put on any mask you want but you’ll still be my Bunny,” he said without a second of hesitation.
(His Bunny?)
Your breath caught as he stepped towards you, your head tilting back slightly the closer he got so that you could see his dark eyes.
“I told you I’d find you again,” he said.
“You did,” you said, trying desperately to calm your racing heart. “Though, I’m not sure if it counts as cheating to pay to find me.”
You smirked at him and watched as he considered the comment.
“I play to my strengths,” he said, shrugging.
“Money is a strength?”
“It is if you have it,” he answered.
He took another step, until there was no space left between you.
“Can I -” he started to ask but then seemed uncertain of something, “- am I allowed to touch you?”
His hand flexed as his side, his fingers seemed to itch and strain, wanting nothing more than to reach for you.
“Yes,” you answered softly, breathlessly.
Slowly, cautiously even, he reached for you, placing his hand on your cheek, just below the mask. Your eyes closed and you leaned into the warmth of his hand.
“What changed?” He asked, still sounding uncertain.
It took you a couple of seconds to figure out what he meant; when you’d last seen him a week ago, you’d been strictly hands off but, now, you were letting him touch you. You shrugged and shook your head a little.
“Doesn’t matter.”
Your hand rose to hold his, keeping it pressed against your cheek for a few more seconds before pulling it away and using it to lead him towards the sofa.
With a playful smile, you pushed him down onto the sofa and reached down to frame his face with your hands. As he looked up at you, it struck you just how tired he looked, and it brought about a strange want inside of you; the desire to take care of him.
“Let me get you a drink,” you said softly, lingering for a few more seconds before pulling away from him.
The bar was a lot smaller in this private room than the one you’d met him in, mostly meant for solo patrons and mostly those that wanted to do a lot more than just touch. Still, the bar was well stocked, and it took you no time at all to fill a glass with some ice and pour him a healthy measure of scotch.
When you returned to him, he took the glass from your hand and looked at you with some confusion as you sat beside him, your leg pulled up onto the sofa so you could face him better.
“Seriously, what changed?” He asked again.
“Maybe I was just optimistic that you’d find me again,” you answered with a shrug.
“So you’re... you’re okay?”
Of course, you knew where the thought had to have come from; he couldn’t wrap his head around the fact that you were willing to let masked strangers touch you for money, and that there had to be some terrible reason behind it.
“I’m fine,” you told him, reaching to cup his cheek, “so stop worrying about me and drink your drink.”
As if taking your words as a challenge, he lifted his glass and knocked it back in one go. Then, he seemed to settle a little, sitting back and fixing his dark eyes on you. You relieved him of the empty glass and placed it on the table, quickly returning your full attention to him.
“You look tired,” you said, the hand on his cheek moving, slipping your fingers into his hair.
“It’s been a long week.”
His eyes flickered shut and you heard him let out a soft sigh.
“Want to talk about it?”
His head shook, eyes still closed. “Just work stuff I’d rather not think about.”
“Then what do you want to think about?” You asked playfully, hoping to lighten his mood.
“You.”
“What about me?” You prompted, still running your fingers through his hair.
“You kissed me.”
“I did.”
“Why?”
“Because I wanted to,” you said, letting your fingers still for a moment.
Your breath caught as his eyes opened and he looked at you again. There was something so unreadable in his dark eyes and you couldn’t tell if it was a warning or a promise. He didn’t say anything so you continued.
“And, I think you wanted me to kiss you,” you said before pausing for a beat. “Didn’t you?”
That got a smile from him, that same little smirk that had been stuck in your mind since the last time you’d seen him.
“Wanted to do more than kiss you, Bunny.”
“Yeah, you did,” you said, barely holding back a smirk.
He laughed, daring to reach for you again, his hand on your cheek, his thumb brushing over your lips.
“What is it about you?” He asked softly. “How is it that I feel so at ease when I'm with you?”
Your heart stuttered in your chest and you felt heat creep across your cheeks. It took every ounce of common sense at your disposal to remind yourself that the moment wasn't real and that, if he was face to face with the real you, he probably wouldn't be interested.
“The mask,” you offered, “or the fact that there's no expectations beyond this moment. We can be whoever we want to be right now and no one can say that we can't.”
“And who do you want to be right now, Bunny?”
“I want to be your Bunny.”
He seemed almost taken aback by your answer, shifting in his seat, leaning closer to you.
“You want to be mine?”
“For the night.”
“Just for the night?”
Your expression softened and turned into something a little sadder, knowing that you couldn't indulge him even though some part of you desperately wanted to.
“Let's not ruin it by thinking about later,” you said, forcing a smile to your lips. “Let's just enjoy now. Do you want another drink?”
“No, I want another kiss,” he said with all the confidence of a man who usually got exactly what he wanted.
“Oh, you do, do you?” You asked playfully.
Your fingers stilled and, instead, lightly gripped his hair as you lost yourself in his gaze. You knew that you were playing a dangerous game and, while you might have wanted to tell yourself that it was just the job and that all of this was just because he had paid for your time, there was more to it than that. It was silly but, some part of you wanted it to be real.
After the week you’d had, you wanted a moment where you didn’t feel useless, a moment where you felt wanted, even if the whole thing was just some ridiculous fantasy.
And, maybe, that was exactly what he wanted too, some escape from reality for an evening.
“I do,” he said, but made no attempt to close the distance between you.
He was giving you the choice. He wasn’t demanding or forcing it just because he was paying for your time.
With a smile on your lips, you leaned towards him and kissed him. It was nothing special, just a light peck on the lips, but it felt like so much more. It felt like a promise, an offer of something wonderful, but only for the next few hours.
His hand slipped to your neck, fingers resting above your racing pulse, and you could tell from the slight narrowing of his eyes he could tell that your heart was beating for him in that moment.
“Thank you,” he said softly.
“Don’t thank me. I wanted to kiss you.”
Reluctantly, you let your fingers slip from his hair and you sat back beside him, creating a little bit of space between you. As much as you wanted to keep kissing him, you didn’t want to rush or put yourself in a situation that you’d regret.
“So, should I ask how much money you had to spend to make this happen?” You asked, smiling playfully.
“Oh, an obscene amount,” he said, grinning straight back at you.
“Obscene?”
“A truly disgusting amount.”
“You rich guys, you think you can throw your money around and get whatever you want, don’t you?” You asked with mock indignation.
“I told you, Bunny; I always get what I want.”
You burst out laughing, amused by how serious he managed to sound. Though, in all honesty, you were trying not to actually think about how much he must have paid to make this happen. It was both unsettling and exhilarating to think that anyone might want to spend that sort of money just to be around you.
“You might always get what you want, but I’m starting to think you rarely get what you need,” you told him before getting to your feet.
You grabbed his glass from the table and headed back to the bar, this time bringing the scotch bottle back alone with a fresh glass of ice.
“You think this is what I need?” He asked as you refiled the glass and set the bottle down.
“No, I think what you need is a good night’s sleep,” you told him softly, sinking back onto the sofa beside me. “When was the last time you slept more than a couple of hours?”
A subtle shift in things followed, a clumsy sort of tension, as if you’d shattered the illusion that you’d both been trying to hide in. For a moment he looked at you and you almost braced yourself to be told it was none of your fucking business. After all, who were you to say such things to him?
“It’s been a rough couple of months,” he said, giving an uncomfortable shrug and you noticed an awkward sort of tension in his shoulder.
Without thinking, you reached for him again and began to softly massage where his shoulder and neck met. He let out what could only be described as a relieved sigh and, for a few seconds, he let his eyes close.
“Are you always so tense, or is this just the effect that I have on you?” You teased.
“I’d be lying if I said you didn’t inspire a certain sort of tension... well, it’s more of a stiffness really...”
Your fingers squeezed a little tighter on his shoulder. “Oh, really? Sounds uncomfortable.”
“I’ll survive.”
You managed to hold your composure for all of two seconds before bursting into laughter. He joined you and you couldn’t help but wonder how often he got to laugh like that. Not often, if you had to hazard a guess.
“I guess I should be flattered,” you said once you managed to stop laughing.
“Is that your way of telling me that you haven’t given me a second thought since the other night?” He asked, almost pouting.
You bit your lip, torn between brutal honesty and the safer option.
“I might have briefly considered you, once or twice,” you confessed.
It was a dangerous game, and a silly one considering you knew nothing about him. In fact, the whole thing was a little ridiculous; both of you were acting like your first meeting had been more than a couple of hours of silly comments made across a bar. Both of you were acting like it had meant something.
But it was hard to deny that there had been some spark of connection and, as childish as you felt for indulging it, you wanted more.
You watched as he took another drink and, again, drained his glass.
“Tell me, when you were considering me, were you considering anything in particular?” He asked.
“Hmm,” you hummed, appearing lost in thought for a moment, “I can’t really remember.”
Before he could answer, you leaned forward, reaching for the bottle on the table when, suddenly, you felt his arms around you, pulling you onto his lap. Fingers cold from gripping his glass found your chin and he angled your face towards his so he could kiss you.
This time it wasn’t just some chaste peck on the lips. His tongue pressed against the seam of your mouth and your lips parted for him, letting him deepen the kiss while your fingers fisted the fabric of his jacket. His lips tasted of scotch and desire, and it was easy to lose yourself in the moment.
When the kiss finally broke, you let out a contented hum, your eyes remaining shut for a few long seconds.
“That’s what I was considering,” you said, lips pulling into a smirk again.
“Then maybe I should do it again.”
Before you could even think, his lips were on yours again. You fingers ended up back in his hair, gripping the dark strands and pulling him closer, keeping him against your lips as you kissed.
No one had ever kissed you the way he did; hungrily, needily, like he thought he might die if he didn’t have just one more taste of your lips.
And that was how the evening went from there; teasing playful comments interspersed with kisses that seemed to demand more and more.
You felt like your grip on your sanity was slowly loosening and it wouldn’t be long until it was gone entirely. Here was a man you didn’t know, a man whose face you’d never seen, but you were more than willing to spend the whole night on his lap making out with him as if he was your true love.
Every time you caught yourself thinking about it, you tried to rationalise it; he was a customer and this was what he wanted.
You were both adults who understood the situation.
(Right?)
Eventually you moved from his lap to refill his glass, wanting to at least make a show of being a good host, even though he pouted and complained that you weren’t allowed to drink with him. And, when you moved back towards him, you were quickly pulled back onto his lap, this time straddling him - so he could see you better, he explained with a smirk that tied your insides in knots.
You ran your fingers through his hair again, smiling at him as he sipped his scotch and stared right back.
“Tell me something real, something about you that no one else knows,” he said, still staring into your eyes.
“I like to go to the Rockefeller Center to watch the ice skaters in the winter,” you confessed as if it was some great and terrible thing.
“You just go to watch? You don’t skate?”
You shook your head and bit back a laugh. “No. I’m not... uh, I’m not very good at ice skating. I'm kinda clumsy, I'd spend all my time falling over...”
“I don't believe that, I've seen you balancing trays or drinks and walking around just fine.”
It was strange that you'd never stopped to think about it like that; you couldn't remember ever dropping anything while you were working at The Red Ribbon, while you were hiding behind the mask, but you could barely get through a day at Anvil without tripping over your own feet or making a mess of something. Maybe that was another benefit of spending your nights as someone else.
“Can you ice skate?” You ask, deciding to redirect the conversation.
“A little, but it's been years since I last tried.”
“You should go some time, have some fun,” you suggested. “You look like you need more fun in your life.”
“I've got all the fun I need right here, Bunny,” he answered back without hesitation.
“I mean real fun, not…”
It struck you that you didn't even have a word for what this was. A fantasy. A pipe dream. A waste of his time - if you wanted to be brutally honest about it.
“Not what?” He asked, picking up on your moment of hesitation.
“I just mean that when you get bored of this - of me - you should do something fun for yourself, something that makes you smile,” you said with a shrug.
His head shook and you could see the confusion on his face despite the mask.
“Who says I'm going to get bored of this?”
“Come on, handsome, we both know how this goes...” you answered as gently as you could. “You can't just spend the rest of your life coming here to see me.”
“Why? Is someone gonna stop me?”
He gave your thigh a gentle squeeze and, realistically, you knew that you should be at least a little bit concerned. He was a customer, this was your job. It wasn’t like you’d just met each other in some bar or coffee shop, and there was really only one sort of person who wanted to come to a place like The Red Ribbon to see the same host every night. But he didn’t seem like that, it didn’t act like some lonely weirdo who thought it was something more than it was.
“You’ll run out of money,” you joked.
“I can always make more.”
“You’re impossible.”
“Impossible to refuse,” he countered.
That had you laughing again, resting your hand above his heart, and shaking your head. You leaned forwards, your masked forehead against his, eyes closing tight.
“Carry on like this and I might actually start believing you,” you said softly.
“You say that like it’s a bad thing,” he answered just as quietly.
Before you could respond, his lips were on yours again and his arm was pulling you closer. The kiss seemed more desperate as he tried to prove what he was telling you was true, and the longer it went on, the more you believed him.
Your chest pressed against his and he groaned into the kiss. A moment later you felt him between your thighs, a hard ridge tenting his pants. His hand moved to your hip, pulling you against him as he pressed upwards, grinding himself against you. You let out a soft moan into the kiss that only got louder as he took your bottom lip between his teeth.
Fuck.
You knew that you should stop but you couldn’t, so you did the next best thing and tried to take control of the situation, making sure he was at your mercy and not the other way around.
You pulled back a fraction and let your hands glide down the front of his shirt, all the way down to his waistband. Ignoring the trembling in your fingers, you quickly unbuckled his belt and made a strat on the fastenings of his pants. His breath caught as you tugged down the zipper and you hesitated, offering him a brief split-second to tell you to stop. When he didn’t, you slipped your hand into his pants and beneath his boxers to pull out his cock.
Your eyes widened as they travelled down his body to look at him, hard and growing harder still in your grasp. Thick, long and perfect, the tip already glistening with pre-cum. For you. He was hard for you.
“Fuck,” you muttered before you could think to stop yourself.
And he just laughed.
“See something you like, Bunny?”
Instead of answering you bit your lip and started to stroke him, slowly running your hand up and down his shaft. His mouth went slack and his head dropped back, and you paid attention to every little sound and flicker of pleasure on his face, learning exactly how he liked to be touched. Your grip tightened and your hand twisted ever so slightly, and the groan that left him sent a bolt of pleasure straight to your core.
He leaned forward, pressing his lips to your neck, trailing wet kisses along the column of your throat until you almost forgot that you were the one giving him pleasure.
You didn’t snap back to reality until you felt his lips start to suck the skin just above where the red ribbon sat around your neck. Quickly, your free hand gripped his hair and gave a gentle tug.
“You can’t mark me,” you told him quietly but firmly.
The disappointed grunt he gave was almost enough to have you reconsidering, but he was quickly distracted by your hand.
His cock throbbed in your grasp, veins pulsing in time with his racing heart.
“You like that?” You muttered in a soft and sultry tone. “You like me stroking your cock?”
“Yes - fuck, Bunny - yes,” he groaned.
“Are you gonna come for me?”
There was no telling where your new found confidence had come from, you’d never been the sort to engage in dirty talk before but something about the moment made you feel powerful. That you, of all people, could have some powerful, wealthy man trembling beneath your touch was an intoxicating feeling.
“Come for me, handsome. Show me how much you like me.”
You watched as his jaw set and his teeth gritted, like he was trying to hold back, like he wanted the moment to go on and on. It only made your hand move faster, fingers twisting around his shaft.
When he continued to deny you, your fingers in his hair tightened their hold again, pulling his head up and forcing him to look you in the eye.
And that was all it took.
His cock started to twitch and you felt warm cum running over your hand, but all the while you held his gaze, enjoying the desperate little sounds that were escaping him.
“Fuck, Bunny,” he groaned, breathless and boneless as he sank back against the sofa.
You gave him a triumphant smirk, your hand still gripping his cock as it started to soften. When you finally pulled it away, you lifted it to your mouth and made a show of slowly licking his cum from one of your fingers.
After a moment more, you slowly stood, ignoring your shaking legs as you headed towards the bar to grab a towel to clean up with. You quickly rinsed your hand before returning to him, kneeling between his legs and tenderly wiping him clean.
When you were about to pull away again, you were stopped by his hand on your chin, tilting your head up.
“Tell me it’s not just about the money,” he said.
Your heart almost stopped at the request.
As much as you’d been trying to tell yourself that you were playing the part of Bunny, it wasn’t true. It couldn’t be true, not with him.
“It’s not about the money,” you answered, feeling your cheeks start to heat, “I wouldn’t’ve done that with you for money.”
It felt like the most honest thing you’d said to him so far. If he’d asked, if he’d thrown money at you like so many men had since you started hosting at The Red Ribbon, you would have told him no.
No, you’d done it because you wanted to because, regardless of how strange and fucked up the circumstances were, you enjoyed his company, even if you were both hiding behind your masks.
But, it seemed that he wasn’t willing to hide behind masks anymore.
You recoiled the second you felt his fingers nudging the cat mask upwards, your fingers tugging it back into place.
“Don’t,” you said, begged. “Don’t ruin this.”
“I - I’m sorry. I just - fuck, Bunny - I just want to see you.”
He sat forward and his hand found your shoulder, offering a gentle and reassuring squeeze that really didn’t help matters.
“We can’t. That’s not how this works,” you told him, trying to keep the regret from spilling into your voice.
He nodded and started to tuck himself back into his pants. You took the opportunity to pull back and get to your feet.
Then he was standing, pulling his jacket back on. He reached for you and pulled your body to his, holding you tight as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
“I told you, Bunny. I always get what I want. And I want you.”
Despite his playful tone, there was a gravity to his words, something that caused your heart to stutter. When you looked up, he caught your lips in another eager kiss, and you let him. You kissed him back, once again losing yourself in the fantasy that this could be something more than what it was, that this could be real.
Then, he was gone, leaving you with the unspoken promise that this thing between you was far from over.
You didn’t sleep that night, laying in bed, tossing and turning, trying to get the thought of him from your mind. The only thing that helped was your vibrator, though once you’d made yourself come, you were right back at square one, trying to figure out what the fuck you were going to do.
Fortunately, when you turned up at Anvil the next morning, you were happy to find an email from Mr Russo telling you that he’d be out of office all day, meaning that you could work in peace.
On your way home, you found yourself heading towards the Rockefeller Center, stopping on the way to grab a coffee. You snuggled into your thick coat, occasionally glancing up at the sky, idly wondering if it was going to snow over Christmas.
When you reached the rink, you slowly made your way through the crowd, enjoying getting lost in the hustle and bustle until you saw a familiar face across the ice.
Billy Russo.
It didn’t click straight away - all you could think about was why would you boss be there - but when he reached up to brush back his hair and covered the top half of his face for a split second, the familiarity hit you like a brick.
It was him.
Mr Tall, Dark and Handsome was Billy Russo.
A/N : I hate being ill so much... 0/10 do not recommend (though it did give me time to finally start playing Black Ops 6 which I do recommend). Anyway hopefully I managed to get most of the dumb typos in this one. I know this story probably seems a bit faster than most of my fics but since this is only going to be three parts (or four if I get carried away) I didn't want to spend a lot of time on slow burn or b-plots. Plus it's a Christmas story and I want to finish it while it's still seasonal . Any way, I hope you're all having fun with this one because I certainly am.
Thanks for reading, hope you all have a great week (enjoy new years and stay safe!!)

“You.”
Billy kept his hands held up in surrender as he watched you grab the bloodied award and rise to your feet, your jaw clenched as you grit that word out with pure hostility. The fire he could see burning in your eyes was exhilarating.
“I can explain-”
“Explain? Explain what? You murdered them-”
“I did it for you.”
Billy’s words caught you off guard. He said it so calmly, and with such conviction. A crease of perplexity settled between your brows, and you stared at him in outrage and disbelief.
“What the hell are you talking about?”
“I brought him here.”
Billy slowly lowered his hands to his sides, keeping his eyes locked on you. He didn’t make a move to come closer, not yet. Roman’s words from earlier echoed in your head.
Last week, I got a picture of you with two words. New York.
Billy was the one who sent him the picture. Billy was the one who told Roman where you were. White hot rage bubbled within you once again, and you gripped the award in your hand as you took a step closer, screaming at him.
“Why the fuck would you do that?”
Billy didn’t flinch at your outburst. He didn’t take a step backwards. He didn’t physically react at all.
“Because you needed it.”
All you could do was stare at Billy in convoluted incredulity and anger. He was making the whole thing sound so simple, so logical, like he was looking at it through rose colored glasses. Taking in the look on your face and the fact that you seemed speechless, Billy took a cautious step forward and spoke calmly.
“He’s dead, sweetheart. You never have to worry about lookin’ over your shoulder again. You’re free.”
“Free? You killed Adam. God, you killed Derek and Annie, you almost killed me-”
Billy immediately shook his head no and cut you off.
“No. I was never gonna hurt you. Look, I'm sorry for scarin’ you, and I’m sorry you did get hurt, but I had to convince the police it was him after you. I didn’t see another way to do this. And look at you. Look how strong it’s made you.”
Billy’s dark brown eyes roved over your figure appreciatively, staring at you almost in awe, the ghost of a proud smile gracing the edge of his lips. There was a glint in his gaze when he met your eyes, and you could see a complete lack of remorse for what he’d done. There was no guilt, no shame, nothing.
“You’re psychotic.”
Billy took another step forward, reaching out to take the bloodied award away from you, tossing it onto the floor carelessly. He lifted his hand to brush a strand of your hair that was soaked in blood away from your face, gazing down at you in adoration.
“No sweetheart. I'm in love.”
Narrowing your eyes, you clenched your jaw and raised your chin defiantly, refusing to break eye contact as you cocked your head to the side.
“So in love with me you’re gonna get me sent to prison?”
Hearing the bitterness in your voice, Billy let out a frustrated exhale through his nose, his reverence for you shifting into pure annoyance at your attitude.
“You ain’t goin’ to prison. I made sure of that. Everything is traceable back to him. When the cops go to the motel he was stayin’ at, they’re gonna find everything they need to wrap this case up with a neat fuckin’ bow. The outfit and mask, the knife and the DNA on it, surveillance photos of you, a disposable cell phone, everything. And this-”
Billy loosely gestured with his hand towards Roman’s lifeless body on the floor surrounded by a puddle of blood.
“-this will be clear and cut self defense. I got the best legal team in the world, sweetheart. Roman had motive, and there’s a paper trail, all leadin’ back to him. None of this is comin’ back on you. I’d never let that happen.”
The implications of what Billy was saying slowly started to sink in. He planned this, down to the last meticulous detail. You didn’t know how long he’d planned it, or who he’d leveraged his power and wealth against to make it happen, but he’d directed every moment of this set up. He had carefully crafted a trap that Roman had walked right into. Adam, Derek, Annie, the cops, his own men, you; you’d all been pieces on the game master’s board, unaware you were losing a rigged match that only had one outcome from the beginning.
Billy snapped you out of your thoughts when he took your face in his hands, brushing his thumbs over the splatters of blood on your cheekbones to wipe them away.
“You belong with me. No one else, me. You know that now.”
Staring up at him, there was a soft furrow between your brows as you let out a breathless and humorless laugh.
“Belong with you? You’re a murderer-”
“So are you.”
Billy arched one of his dark brows in challenge, gesturing his head towards the dead body on the floor next to your feet. Pressing your lips together in a firm line, you clenched your jaw seeing the flicker of amusement in Billy’s gaze. Shaking your head slowly, you smacked his hands away from your face and took a step backwards.
“You’re delusional. You are absolutely fucking delusional-”
“Oh c’mon, sweetheart. We had an agreement, yeah? No bullshit. You gonna stand there and tell me you feel bad about this, huh? You gonna look me in the eye and tell me he didn’t deserve it? Because from where I’m standin’, he had it comin’. Hell, he deserved worse if you ask me.”
Billy was staring you down, daring you to open your mouth and correct him. But even as your lips parted to speak, nothing came out. No words of regret, no remorse of your own, no horror at the brutality you’d just learned you were capable of. Even though you knew you should feel guilty and revolted about what you’d just done, you didn’t. You couldn’t come to your own defense. You didn’t have to kill Roman. You could’ve knocked him out and called the police.
But you didn’t.
You chose to kill him. You wanted to kill him. Because deep down, you knew Billy was right. It was the only way you were going to be free. It had come down to kill, or be killed. Instead of the shackles of guilt and shame dragging you down to the unknown depths of whatever hell was waiting for you for breaking the cosmic rule of taking another life, you felt light as a feather. The fear that had been weighing on your chest your whole life, but especially the last three years, was gone. You could breathe again. You didn’t feel weak or fragile. You felt…powerful.
That moral compass within you was pointing towards relief, and maybe it had always been crooked, you just hadn’t noticed until now. But the moment you watched Roman take his last breath, something changed in you. The false pretense you had existed under abruptly faded away. All at once, the girl you had been trying to lay to rest was finally dead, for good. And it was then that you realized you hadn’t been trying so hard to bury her this entire time because of Roman and out of necessity for your own safety. It was because she was never who you really were.
This was.
Billy could see the initial hesitation on your face that slowly transitioned from denial into a half step away from acceptance. He took a step closer to you, wanting to convince you to take that final leap into embracing the truth he’d always been able to see.
“Think about it. The only time you felt safe was with me. The only time you weren’t tryin’ to be someone else, was with me. Annie didn’t know you, not like I do. Neither did Adam, and neither did this motherfucker.”
Billy pointed towards Roman’s lifeless body as he spit those words out like they were acidic. He took another bold step closer, and this time he wasn’t gentle when he grabbed your face in his hand, half of his fingers wrapping around your throat possessively.
“I've killed for you, no else can say that. You think you were gonna be happy settlin’ down with a nice guy from Jersey, havin’ to fake who you are for the rest of your life? No way, sweetheart. Face it. It’s you and me.”
Tilting your head back slowly, you looked up at Billy, not an ounce of fear in your eyes. Your face was a blank portrait, but there was a glimmer of challenge in your unwavering stare.
“And if I say no?”
The calmness in your voice sent a thrill through Billy. You were almost there. His tongue darted out to wet his lips, and he lowered his voice to a husky whisper, even though you were the only two people in the bedroom. Alive, anyway.
“You ain’t gonna do that, sweetheart. You know why?”
Billy’s question was rhetorical, and it had an undertone of amusement as he looked down at you with mischief twinkling in his eyes. His breath was warm as it ghosted over your lips.
“You know I'm right. You don’t feel a single ounce of guilt about what you just did, and you shouldn’t. He had it comin’, and no one is gonna miss this sorry piece of shit.”
Billy leaned in to nuzzle his nose against your neck, pulling you flush against his body, his other arm wrapping around your waist possessively. You swallowed thickly feeling the coarseness of his facial hair brush against your skin, making you shudder, and your body betrayed your shaky sense of morality, the lingering ache between your thighs from Billy fucking you in this very room earlier suddenly all your brain could focus on.
“You’ve always had a darkness in you, sweetheart. I knew it the night I met you. I felt it. You ain’t gotta hide it, not with me. You ain’t gotta hide period. You can go home again, see your family, your friends. There’s nothin’ holdin’ you back now. You’re not a victim anymore.”
Billy’s smooth words dripping into your ear like raw honey had a soft sigh escaping your lips. The thought of being able to go home, being able to see your mom again, being able to just exist without living in fear…it completely drowned everything else out that you should be feeling. Billy was right, you weren’t a victim anymore. And you were never going to be one again.
He’d done that for you. In his own sick, twisted way that he justified, he’d put a mirror up to you, and you were finally able to see yourself clearly. He’d pushed you to confront everything you tried to run away and hide from. He’d awoken that thing inside you that you’d always known was there, but had been too afraid to acknowledge. He’d forced you to choose between being a helpless ingenue, or a relentless fighter.
There was no going back.
Your eyes fluttered open when Billy pulled back to look down at you. His dark brown eyes were full of awe and reverence. He stared down into your eyes lovingly, brushing the pad of his thumb along the underside of your jaw as his lips spread into a wicked grin.
“You’re a final girl, baby.”
»»——— ———««
The California sun had been something you missed immensely. New York got sunny, hot even, but it wasn’t the same. Those warm rays didn’t carry with them whispers of salt from the sea that tickled your nose or the breeze of nostalgia that caressed your fonder memories. Woodsboro hadn’t hardly changed at all in the three years you had been gone. It was exactly as you had left it.
So was your mother’s house, and your old childhood bedroom. It had been over ten years since you’d last lived in this house, but your bedroom was like a time capsule of your teenage self. The same white cotton sheets and orchid purple comforter, posters of boy bands peeling at the corners, memories with your mom and friends forever immortalized on a corkboard that were held in place with push pins. It even had the same distinct smell that it had ten years ago.
Laying in the twin size bed, you tried to conjure that teenage girl in your head, the one whose room this had been, but you couldn’t. She was as gone as the woman you had been before. You never expected to be back in this room, to get to see your mother again, but the investigation was done, and you were free to move on. Your mom had been shocked when you showed up at the front door unannounced a few days ago, and even more shocked that you’d brought someone with you, but it only took a matter of minutes before she was eating out of the palm of Billy’s hand.
The charming fucker.
The bathroom door slowly opened, the creaking of the hinges breaking you out of your thoughts, and when you glanced over, an amused laugh left your lips as your brows rose up your forehead.
“Seriously?”
Billy remained silent, his boots heavy against the hardwood floor as he took slow, predatory steps towards the bed you were laying on. Your eyes wandered over the sight of him in the black robes, his handsome face concealed by the ghastly mask. Arching one of your brows, a smirk stretched over your lips.
“What, you wanna play psycho killer?”
Billy nodded silently, taking more calculated steps towards you, building the anticipation. Grazing your top teeth over your bottom lip, you sat up slowly and moved onto your knees, looking up at him in faux innocence as your voice came out in a sultry tease.
“Can I be the helpless victim?”
Once again, Billy nodded, tilting his head to the side slowly. He slipped a knife out of the robe, the glint of the metal twinkling under the light in the room. Your lips parted as he placed the blunt edge of it along the side of your neck, gliding it down slowly, the coolness of the metal against your skin making you shiver. He continued to leisurely drag it down, over your right collarbone, and over the swell of your breasts through your shirt.
When he reached the hem of it, Billy grasped the shirt in one of his gloved hands while he used the other to flip the knife over, dragging the sharp side of the blade in the opposite direction upwards, slicing right through the thin material. He took his time, the satisfying sound of fabric ripping filling the quiet as the knife glided through your shirt like fresh scissors through silky wrapping paper.
Goosebumps prickled along your skin as he dragged the blade across your collarbone towards the strap of your bra, not using enough pressure to actually hurt you or draw blood, but just enough for you to feel the faint sting of steel against soft flesh. A succession of two snips sounded, and severed straps tumbled down your arms. But Billy didn’t just reach behind you to unhook your bra, that wasn’t part of the fun. Instead, he cut right through the front of it, wire and all, and then your breasts were bouncing slightly as they spilled from the cups.
Billy wrapped his gloved hand around your throat and forced you onto your back, climbing on top of you, bringing his face down closer. The rubber of the mask was stiff as he pressed his forehead to yours, but you could faintly see his eyes through the black cloth covering the holes of the eye openings.
“Billy-”
“Shh.”
He held his index finger up to the mouth of the mask before bringing it down to press against your lips.
“Bite.”
A flicker of confusion passed through your eyes, but you bit down gently on the tip of his finger, and he pulled his hand back, the fabric of the glove remaining between your teeth as he slipped his hand out. Grabbing it from your mouth and tossing it aside, he traced your lips with his index finger before slipping his thumb past your lips and into your mouth, pressing the pad of it against your soft, warm and wet tongue.
“Suck.”
Wrapping your lips around his thumb, you made a soft noise in the back of your throat as you hollowed your cheeks, sucking softly on his digit and swirling your tongue around it slowly, giving the tip a gentle bite. A muffled grunt came from Billy above, and he pushed his hips forward, allowing you to feel the erection straining against his pants poking against your lower stomach.
“You feel how fuckin’ worked up you get me, baby?”
“I wanna feel more.”
Billy’s dark chuckle was muffled by the mask, his deep voice husky and full of amusement. He slipped his thumb out of your mouth, rubbing it over your lips and down your chin, spreading your own saliva over your skin.
“Greedy little thing.”
Dragging the knife between the valley of your breasts and down your stomach, the cold steel made you tense, your stomach muscles clenching slightly. In a flash, Billy had rendered your sleep shorts into shreds of jagged fabric, but he surprised you by setting the knife on the bed beside your head so he could slip your panties down your thighs, leaving them intact.
“Open your mouth.”
Parting your lips and opening your mouth slightly, you watched as Billy balled up the silky red fabric, and your eyes widened slightly when he shoved it into your mouth, gagging you with your own panties. A soft noise was muffled by the makeshift gag, but Billy ignored whatever you were trying to say. He grabbed your wrists and pinned them above your head on the mattress.
“Be a good girl and keep these here.”
Your heart was racing with anticipation, and a thrill of excitement had your nerve endings feeling like they’d just been hit with a jolt of lightning. You clenched your hands into fists above your head to keep yourself from reaching for Billy as you watched him drag the robe up to his hips so he could unzip his pants, reaching inside to pull out his hardened cock. He slipped his hand between your thighs, coating his palm and his fingers in the wetness that had your inner thighs slick, and you moaned around the gag, shifting your hips up in need as his thumb brushed lightly over your needy clit.
Billy wrapped his hand around the base of his cock, giving himself a few languid strokes as he coated his length in your natural lubrication. He didn’t have any patience left for teasing or playing his own little game, and neither did you. He pushed his hips forward, a muffled groan of satisfaction sounding from deep within his chest as he sank into your tight welcoming heat. Your back arched slightly and your eyes nearly rolled at the sensation of being stretched and filled with his thick cock.
Grabbing your wrists, Billy kept them pinned to the mattress above your head, and he languidly rolled his hips, the denim of his jeans rubbing against your bare thighs with every deep stroke. You brought your legs up to wrap around his waist, trying to pull him closer, wanting him impossibly deeper. Your moans of pleasure were muffled by your panties in your mouth, and you could hear Billy’s heavy breathing through the mask.
“Such a good little slut for me. You like it when I fuck you like this, don’t you baby?”
Billy chuckled darkly in your ear hearing the incoherent response reduced to a muffled moan from the makeshift gag.
“I know you do. I can feel it. This pretty pussy was soaked before I even touched you, and it’s grippin’ my cock so tight, takin’ it so well.”
Billy raised up slightly, letting go of one of your wrists so he could wrap his hand around your throat instead, squeezing just a little as he kept fucking you with slow, deep strokes.
“I knew this shit would get you off. You really are as fucked in the head as me, aren’t you pretty girl? You like it when I-”
All of a sudden there was a knock on the bedroom door, and your eyes went wide.
“Sweetie?”
Billy stopped thrusting, twisting his head to look at the door before looking down at you. Grabbing the mouth of the mask, he pulled it over his head, his raven strands messy from being under the mask. His dark brown eyes were wild with lust and had a dangerous glint in them. He quickly pulled your panties out of your mouth, and you swallowed thickly before calling out.
“Yeah?”
“Are you guys hungry? I was thinking about ordering a pizza.”
Billy’s breathing was heavy, but before you could answer your mother, he swiped the knife off the bed beside your head and held it to your throat. Your eyes widened in surprise, a flash of confusion in them, but then Billy rolled his hips forward, and your mouth dropped open. He quickly covered your mouth with his palm before the moan could slip out, and he pressed the blade just a tad harder against your neck to silence you. He leaned in, his nose brushing against yours as he whispered in a husky and rough tone while staring down into your wide eyes.
“Answer her.”
Billy’s hips were flush against your own, and he was flexing them forward, his cock dragging through your tight warm walls in a way that made your brain feel fuzzy.
“Y-Yeah. That…that sounds good.”
“What kind of pizza does Billy like?”
Your hands flew out to grab onto Billy’s biceps, and your eyes fluttered shut as Billy started to fuck you a little harder, but still keeping his thrusts slow and deep. Because he’d just unzipped his pants, the rough denim of his jeans covering his pelvis was rubbing right against your throbbing clit with every move of his hips. It was maddening.
“Any kind.”
Ever the inquisitive and talkative one, your mother continued to drone on about pizza toppings and the new Italian place in town, rambling about things you didn’t give a single fuck about right now.
You were trying to keep it out of your voice that you were currently getting fucked into the mattress, but it was getting hard to keep your words from sounding shaky and breathless. Billy watched you from above, his lips spreading into a sinister grin, his dark eyes twinkling with delight. He leaned in and nuzzled his nose along the underside of your jaw, nipping at your sensitive skin, pressing his hips flush against yours and starting to oscillate them. A breath caught in your throat, and you whispered pleadingly.
“Billy-”
“Keep talking or I won’t let you come.”
There was an edge of a warning to his voice, and you gripped onto his arms tighter, forcing down the whine of frustration you wanted to let slip.
“Mom, really, anything is…f-fine. Billy just…got out of the shower…we’ll…we’ll be down in a minute.”
“Okay, I’ll get both toppings and the breadsticks just in case. No one ever complained about too much pizza.”
You heard your mom’s familiar melodic laughter and the sound of her footsteps retreating, descending the staircase, and you let out a breath you hadn’t realized you were holding.
“I like your mom.”
Smacking your hand against Billy’s arm, he let out an amused laugh, dropping the knife back onto the bed as he grinned down at you.
“You’re such a dick.”
Billy let out a hum, grabbing your thigh and hiking your leg further up his waist, allowing him to change the angle and thrust even deeper, tearing a surprised moan from your lips. He nuzzled his nose against your neck, nipping at your earlobe as he whispered in a teasing tone.
“Now, is that any way to talk to the man who’s about to make you come?”
Letting out a frustrated whine, you wrapped your arms around his neck tightly and tried to pull him in even closer.
“Billy-”
Grabbing your throat once again, Billy cut you off as he captured your lips in a deep kiss, forcing his tongue past your lips to taste you. He started to snap his hips quickly, and you moaned into the kiss, gripping onto his broad shoulders and digging your nails into the thick fabric of the black robe. The worn frame of your bed began to squeak under the weight of both of you and how roughly Billy was now fucking you into the mattress. Never in a million years did you think you’d be having kinky sex in your childhood bedroom, but Billy had gotten you to do a lot of things you never thought you would.
The moan that tore from the depth of your core was muffled by Billy’s greedy lips, and he tightened his grip on your thigh when you tightened your trembling legs around his waist. Even when he felt your cunt clench around his cock, and the warmth that flooded afterwards, soaking through his jeans, he didn’t stop. He fucked you through your orgasm, and past it. He kept going, determined to force one more wave of pleasure out of you. His kiss was even hungrier, more demanding, and he could faintly feel you clawing at his back through the thick fabric.
When a second round of ecstasy barreled through you and seeped through his jeans to drench his heated skin beneath, Billy finally let go, allowing your greedy cunt to milk him for all he was worth. The instant gratification was overwhelming, turning his vision white for a split second, making his veins feel like they were flowing with helium instead of blood.
“Wow.”
Billy chuckled hearing the breathlessness of your voice. He peppered kisses along your neck, and you could feel his grin on your skin.
“Wow, ‘I just had sex in my childhood bedroom’, or wow ‘that was the best fuck I’ve ever had’?”
“Both.”
Pulling back to look at you, Billy’s dark eyes wandered over your face, and the hazy grin and fucked out look in your eyes made a smile stretch over his own mouth. He brushed his knuckles along your cheekbone gently, just quietly observing you. After a moment of comfortable silence, he spoke.
“We can stay, you know.”
You knew what Billy was saying. When you’d told him you wanted to return to Woodsboro for the holidays to see your mom again, you’d asked him to come with you, and he’d immediately cleared his schedule to make the trip. There hadn’t been a discussion on whether this was just a visit, or a homecoming, but the look in Billy’s eyes told you everything you needed to know. If you wanted to stay permanently, so would he.
Letting out a deep exhale through your nose, you looked up at him with a soft smile, placing your hand on top of his.
“I don’t belong here. I don’t know if I ever did. It’s nice to come back and visit but…it’s not where I’m meant to be.”
“You’re meant to be whenever you wanna be.”
It was such a strange feeling having a person that would do anything for you. You had never had that before. Even your mother had a history of putting her own needs and wants before your own. But Billy…Billy was willing to do whatever it took to make you happy, and ready to handle anyone or anything that got in the way of that, without hesitation. You were still processing everything that had happened, but when you had woken up on that first morning of November, you finally felt like you could breathe. You finally felt like…you.
There was no more running. No more pretending. No more living in fear. It was freeing, and empowering. It didn’t feel like there was anything that could be thrown at you that you couldn’t handle, not anymore. And now, you weren’t doing it alone. You never had to be alone again.
“I know, but I like New York. I wanna be there. The coffee is better.”
Billy smirked and arched one of his dark brows, looking at you with a twinkle of mischief in his eyes.
“That all?”
Pursing your lips, you twisted your features into an expression of mock contemplation, pretending to think it over.
“Yeah, pretty much.”
Billy rolled his eyes, shaking his head with an amused snort. He leaned in and nipped at your neck, making you laugh.
“Brat.”
Carding his fingers through your hair, Billy tilted his head to the side as he looked at you curiously.
“You thought about that deal?”
Looking at him in confusion, you cocked your own head to the side.
“What deal?”
“About the book.”
Letting out a soft laugh, you rolled your own eyes and shook your head, a faint smirk gracing the edge of your lips as you quirked a brow.
“What, and be the next Gale Weathers?”
“Why not? You got a hell of a story.”
Billy flashed you a wink, a wicked grin splitting his lips. Bringing your hand up to smooth his raven strands back into place, you bit down on your bottom lip, smirking.
“Mhm. And what would I call this story?”
Billy gave a faint shrug of his shoulders, leaning in with a smirk as he brushed his lips against yours, whispering.
“How about a play on the original. If you’re gonna be the next Gale Weathers, you could call it…The Manhattan Murders.”

How do we feel about book store date with Billy, followed by cockwarming, and he make her read one of the books to him. And she can't come until she finishes a chapter. The extent of the smut and other kinks is your choice, I trust you with my heart.

Billy was always the determined type so when he picked you up from work and took you to the bookstore to pick whatever you wanted you knew that a simple gift wasn't enough for him.
You browsed through the sections and ended up lingering on the classics sections. He instructed you to pick five books and so you did. You placed them in his hands and waited outside by the car for him. Once out he took you to a restaurant for some late lunch/early dinner and then you were off to his place.
He lived in a luxury apartment in upstate New York and one of your favourite things to do was just to stare outside at the big city skylines. He seemed to be doing some work while you were sitting on the couch freshly showered wearing one of his t-shirts and reading one of the books you picked.
He came by with a smirk on his face as he watched you. The tall man observed you for a bit before he came closer and instructed you on his lap cuddling you, soon enough the cuddling turned to more, Billy not really keeping his hands to himself.
Next thing you know he has you rubbing yourself against his clothed hard-on while he's listening to your reading aloud. He fumbles with his belt and pants until he frees his cock and pushes your panties to the side sliding it right in. The sun had long been set as he looked up at you with a smile.
"Read for me..." He whispered, his lips digging into your neck, struggling to hold on to your book.
"Billy...." You breathed out feeling him occupying your walls so deliciously, you hadn't seen him for three days and you were getting needy yourself.
"Read." He said again before biting your neck. You groaned as you placed the book against the back of the couch and continued reading aloud.
He continued kissing and teasing your neck, loving and feeling the vibrations of your voice chords as he wrapped his hands tightly on your waist not allowing you to go anywhere.
You came to a halt as the pleasure was getting a little too much for you but he only tilted his head to scold you.
"Don't stop until you finish your chapter."
"There are no chapters in this book!" You protested cursing the days you chose this particular book.
"Sucks for you." He chuckled and kissed you again on your neck possesively. "I wanna know how this plays out." You groaned louder as you continued reading aloud.
You were in for a long night.
A very long night.

All eyes on us.
Summary: This wedding needs to happen, it's the only way you can protect the ones you love, the only problem is that you're in love with your husband-to-be and he would never love you back.
Pairing: Mob!Bucky x Stark!reader.
TW: Really not so many, talks of murder but very lightly, mentions of mysogyny, implications of mafia kind of stuff, death of parents, mention of future smut, curvy!reader, no mention of y/n and reader's nickname is Bells (context coming soon), kind of enemies to lovers but not really enemies, arranged marriage, this will be a +18 story so minors dni.
Disclaimer: English is not my first language, please tell me if I make grammar mistakes.
Part of the Yours to lose series.
Pictures from pinterest and graphic and dividers by the amazing @ firefly-graphics so all credits to the creators.
Everyone was waiting for her but she kept looking at herself in the mirror.
The wedding dress was beautiful, Pepper told her it was what Maria Stark –her mother- wore in her own wedding day and she loved it, the silk was too soft, hugging her curves with an ethereal touch and it had a subtle scent that she assumed belonged to the mother she couldn't remember.
Tony swore their mother loved her, their father too, the young bride couldn’t help but doubt it, they would not love her if they could see her now about to get married to a man who didn’t love her back, a man who humiliated her once for his pride, someone who probably only wanted what this arrangement could give him back.
How would she survive this marriage when it was impossible to leave the room and get to the Cathedral?
A knock in the door pulled her out of her mind, finding Natasha smiling at her in the reflection of the mirror.
“Are you ready, dear?” her friend knew the real answer but still gave her the chance to speak.
“I was about to go” she lied and the redhead gave her a knowing look “everyone it’s waiting, isn’t it?”
“You’re the bride, honey, they can wait” Natasha walked to her, looking like a goddess in her silver dress and put her arms around the bride’s body “you can say no, we can fight Russo’s father, hell, Billy would love having one more excuse to kill him.”
She was sure Billy would do it, not only for her but for his sister, for Madani and for himself but it wasn’t time yet, the alliances needed to be settled, Stark and Barnes had to fight alongside to kill Pierce and Carlo Russo. She made all that mess before getting her family back and nobody would take them from her, never again.
“It has to be done, Nat” she put the veil in her head and took the beautiful bouquet Becca left for her earlier “let’s go.”
Her friend must have seen something in her eyes that made her nod.
“Alright, Bells. Let’s do this” her nickname, the one Yelena gave her when they met years ago, made her smile, who could ever thought that knocking someone out with Christmas bells will change her life?
Natasha guided her trough the corridors to the waiting room where Tony was talking in a hushed tone with Pepper, her sister-in-law radiant with her baby bump, reminding her why this alliance needed to happen.
“I’d be waiting outside, dear” Nat kissed her cheek and went to take her place with the other bridesmaids.
Tony was staring at her, pale like a ghost, whispering his sister's name. It wasn’t the first time in the last months Bells was told how much alike she was with his mother, their mother but this time Tony didn’t say anything, just looked at her eyes to find determination that matched his concern.
“Everything it’s beautiful, Peps, thank you” the bride said and the ginger smiled with a hint of sadness barely visible.
“It’s the least I could do for you, topolina. You deserve beautiful things” she never had a mother, not that she could remember, but with Pepper there she could feel like she did.
Pepper gave her husband a gentle squeeze in the arm and went to join the rest of the guest.
“I have Frank ready to go, say the word and we leave” his first words almost made her chuckle, he spent the last fifteen days planning ways to get her out of this but Bells always refused, a small and stupid part of her happy because she would marry the man she loved.
“I want to do this, Tony, for all of us” that part it was true, this marriage was the only way she could protect him and Pepper and the baby, Billy and Dinah, Frank and Maria and the kids, the family she dreamed about since she was a kid and that she finally had. It also would save her from Carlo Russo’s greedy hands.
Bells knew one or two things about the mob, mostly from movies and for that she was sure the respect from his brother to her choices were more part of his good soul, she heard some stories from Maria that made her want to kill Carlo Russo even more.
True to the man she met not too long ago Tony didn’t fight her, instead he straightened his bow tie and extended an arm out for her to take it.
“Then allow me to walk you down the aisle, signorina, it will be my honour” the charm went back to his eyes and Bells could breathe, if she could count on them, she could do anything.
The music started playing when the wedding planner gave the signal and every one of her friends smiled at her or blew kisses at her before marching down the aisle. From where she was she could see Maria walk with confidence, not sparing a glance to her father who unfortunately was sited next to her brother Billy and Dinah.
Natasha was the last one, looking at her with reassurance one last time before following the others, then it was their turn.
“I love you, topolina”
“Love you too, Tony”
The crowd of guest was an unfocused picture, she only had eyes for the man waiting for her at the altar, wearing a black tux with a new haircut, his long chestnut locks were gone, sending a silly wave of sorrow through her veins.
She loved his hair, in an embarrassing impulse she remembered pulling his long hair to get him to kiss her again when-
Bells stopped herself.
It was dangerous to think about those times, they were gone the minute he saw her as one of his properties and decided to punish her for something she never did.
Bucky’s eyes never left her the whole way to him, drinking her like he was dying of thirst. Steve must have noticed too because he gave him a subtle bump to get him to blink and stop looking like he would commit sacrilege in the middle of the church.
The beautiful glass windows projected a million colors around her when Tony lifted the veil and with a barely visible hesitance put her hand in Bucky’s.
“I’m confident you will protect her with your life, Barnes” was all he said, dead serious when Bucky gave him a solemn nod and her brother kissed her forehead.
With her eyes watching her step, Bells avoided looking at him until it was impossible to keep going.
A soft smile, one she thought she lost forever, resurfaced when their eyes locked and the bride could read what he was thinking.
She was his, always was and always would be and he would never let her go.
I'd do bad things with you >>>
Hiya! I'm super happy to post this story even if I don't know what I'm doing, to be honest I'm not fluent in italian, so here's the translation of the pet names I used:
-topolina: Little mouse.
-signorina: Miss.
If I made a mistake with that, feel free to correct me and tell me what you think! What do you think it will happen?
Love, Lily.

A Christmas Wish
Photos are not mine. They are courtesy of Pinterest/Google.
Pairing: Billy Russo x F! Reader
Warnings: Fluff, smooches, mentions of Billy’s shitty childhood and a couple of swear words.
Word Count: 2.1K-ish
Summary: You love decorating the Christmas tree but Billy doesn’t and he tries to put on a smile for you so you try to make it better by giving him a few special gifts.
A/N: Greetings and Happy 2025 to my lovely friends! Hope you are well and I apologize for being quiet lately. I’ve been sick and my entire week off from work was spent trying to recover from whatever lovely cold is going around.
I tried to put this out before Christmas but obviously that didn’t happen and I’ve also been a little bummed about friendly interaction, everyone seems to have disappeared but whatever, I digress.
Oh I’m also thinking about trimming down my tag list again just because I don’t feel like wasting anyone’s time if you’re not interested in reading my fics anymore. I dunno, I’m just feeling sorry for myself. I’m sure it will pass…
As always, thank you for reading! I appreciate it so much and comments, reblogs are welcome and encouraged. Don’t be shy to tell me your favorite part. 💕💕 💕
Some of them were very delicate.
The ornaments were old, made from very thin glass and passed down to you by your parents, that they received from THEIR parents. There were a handful that said “Baby’s First Christmas” followed by your name written in beautiful script. A pink bulb that was stuffed with “angel hair” was one of your favorites. That’s what your dad used to tell you when you were little which you thought was a cute story.
Billy had taken the ornament tote out of storage so the two of you could decorate the tree together. Mostly, he just sat back and let you decorate the tree. He wasn’t particularly fond of this time of year or any holiday.
A brass ornament with a sleeping baby and the year you were born, a red bauble with your name written in silver glitter on the side, and a bone ornament with your childhood dog’s name on it were a few more of your favorites.
Each ornament had a story like who gave it to you and what year, and if there was a reason they picked that particular one. The dates ranged from the time you were born up until recent years. Some of them were handmade from when you were a child that your father thought you might like to have along with the one he gave you last year with a picture of you and Billy inside for your first Christmas together.
Trimmed to perfection, which was obviously Billy’s doing, the tree stood impressively in front of one of the large windows in the penthouse so it could be seen by others, looking out from the tops of their buildings. The warm white lights shined against the dark green needles, giving off an enticing invitation that made it so you couldn’t help but stare at it.
The branches were full and abundant with plenty of room for all of your ornaments as shades of red, green, and gold bounced off the delicate glow of the white lights.
This time of year brought back so many fond memories for you. Billy couldn’t say the same thing. Growing up without a family, this time of year was just a reminder of all the holidays he spent in the group home, alone.
He didn’t have any ornaments from childhood to hang on the tree.
“The decorations they put up just made me more depressed.” He had told you. “The old pathetic little fake tree, it was all bullshit, and it just made me hate her even more for leaving. They called the group home Ray of Hope but there was nothing hopeful about that place.”
He had a mother, she had been out there somewhere but she didn’t want him. She never did. That shattered your heart, twisted your stomach into knots, and left you wondering how a mother could do that to her own child.
The darkness that comes with the winter months is hard enough so you thought a tree would light up that darkness, make it colorful, and maybe brighten his day just a little bit.
Billy put the tree up for you, because you wanted it and because he loved to see you smile, even though the Christmas season didn’t bring him any happy memories like it did for you.
But you were determined to make it better, he deserved it and you loved him more than anything.
**********
If he had ever wanted to talk about it, Billy would be the first one to tell you that his childhood was shit but he worked hard to make sure children in need would have a better Christmas than he ever did so he helped out collecting Toys for Tots during this time of year.
So he had a lot of long December days where he wouldn’t get home until late.
The lights in the penthouse were dimmed to create a warm and cozy environment for when Billy came home. The presents you had for him were nicely wrapped and sitting on the large coffee table near the couch, you picked up his favorite cookies from the bakery, and had a glass of his favorite bourbon ready and waiting for him.
His keys jingled in the door handle as he walked through the door.
“Another late one, sweet girl. I’m sorry.” Said Billy.
He was always so apologetic when he worked late but you understood.
On cold nights like tonight, you loved to sit in the dark, a fire blazing in the fireplace, relax in comfortable clothes, with nothing but the Christmas tree lights on, and quietly look out at the city skyline. You had been enjoying a cup of hot chocolate and reading your book when Billy walked through the door.
He walked over to the couch to give you a quick kiss and then head to his office but you stopped him.
“Can you sit for a minute, handsome? Please?” You asked.
He desperately wanted to get more work done before really calling it a night plus he liked to find any excuse he could to not be near the Christmas tree.
“Can it wait, baby? I just wanna get a little work done.” He said, firmly.
Normally, you could wait a little while until he was finished but tonight was different, this was for him, and you just really wanted to give him something special.
But you decided to put your foot down.
“No…actually, it can’t wait, Billy.” You said.
Billy hated to disappoint you or make you angry with him so he sat down on the couch, next to you. He noticed the present as he took a sip of bourbon.
“Did you get an early present from someone at work or somethin’?” He asked.
Biting down on your lower lip, you shook your head and tried to keep from smiling. You were excited to give him his presents.
“It’s for you, Billy.” You said, softly.
Billy set his glass down, looked at you and then looked at the box.
“But Christmas isn’t for two weeks, sweet girl.” He said with a slight smile.
You replied, “I know…open it.”
The wrapping paper was all white and you had tied a perfect bow with royal blue ribbon. His long fingers carefully untied the ribbon and set it aside. Billy then tore into the wrapping paper, revealing a large white box. As he removed the top, he stared at the blue tissue paper inside for a minute before digging around for the gifts underneath.
Billy first pulled out his United States Marine Corps ornament. He read the saying on the back out loud for you.
“From the Halls of Montezuma
To the shores of Tripoli
We fight our country’s battles
In the air, on land, and sea;
First to fight for right and freedom
And to keep our honor clean;
We are proud to claim the title
Of United States Marines.”
Billy looked over at you and started to say, “Baby, this is…”
But you stopped him.
“There’s more, my love. Keep going.” You said, kissing him on the cheek.
He found his Christmas stocking next. It looked like yours except his was red to go along with your green one and his name was embroidered at the top, in the same font to match yours, and a hook to hang it from, over the fireplace. The final gift in the box was a plain red bulb ornament with his name written in silver glitter on it, just like the one you received as a child.
You wanted Billy to have ornaments that were his and his alone for him to hang on the tree. You hoped it would make this time of year a little happier for him.
“Sometimes I forget that this time of year isn’t pleasant for everyone. I was hoping to make it a little better for you, Billy. So I got you ornaments that are just for you.” You said.
He replied, holding the stocking and glitter ornament in his hand, “They’re just like yours.”
“I wish I could take away your bad memories, but I can’t. So I thought maybe if you had new memories…that, um…” You trailed off with a hitch in your voice.
Billy didn’t let you finish. He just leaned in and planted a soft kiss on your lips, the sweet taste of vanilla and a little spicy from the nutmeg on his from the sips of bourbon he had a few minutes ago, and the woodsy scent of his cologne floated past your nose as you kissed him back.
The warm white lights reflected in his onyx colored eyes and his smile traveled from the curl in his lip, up to the lines around his eyes. Billy didn’t have to say how he was feeling, you could see it in his eyes, see it in his smile, and you felt it in the way he kissed you.
“These are just…I don’t…thank you, sweet girl.” Said Billy.
He looked over at the tree for the first time since he arrived home and actually smiled. Billy finally had his own ornaments to hang on the Christmas tree and he looked excited about it.
“Go ahead, baby.” You said with a warm smile.
Billy rolled his shirt sleeves up to his elbows, loosened his tie, stood up while carefully holding his ornaments, walked over to the tree and pondered about where he should place them. You knew the perfectionist in him wanted to pick out the perfect spot for them.
He found your ornament with your name written in silver glitter and he placed his on the branch next to it. Billy then found a branch near the top for his Marines ornament that he needed the stepladder to reach and he hung his stocking on the opposite end of the fireplace from where yours was. He said he had to keep it “symmetrical” which made you chuckle. There’s that perfectionist trait hard at work again.
Billy actually looked content, finding places for his ornaments and hanging his stocking on the fireplace. He finally had the experience that he didn’t get to do when he was young.
Forced to grow up faster than he should have, Billy Russo’s childhood was stolen from him by the person that was supposed to protect him and love him but she didn’t. His mother left him and never looked back so it really wasn’t a mystery of why he didn’t trust anyone, why he never got close to anyone, or why he never had a long term relationship.
You were helping him work through some of that pain and building trust so he would never have to go through any of that hurt ever again.
As he sat down, you let your head gently fall against his chest as he kissed the top of your head. You felt your eyelids getting heavy and it was a relief to close them as you pulled your legs up onto the couch. His body was a warm cradle for yours.
“I love you.” Whispered Billy, kissing the top of your head again.
With your eyes closed still, you smiled and replied, “I love you too, Billy. I just want all your Christmas wishes to come true.”
“You’re all I’ve ever wanted, my love. My only wish is I wish I didn’t have to wait so long for you.” He said in barely more than a whisper.
Tears stung the back of your eyes as your heart began to race and your fingers started to tingle. All Billy had ever wanted was to be loved and something as simple as a Christmas ornament with his name on it, you knew he’d cherish it forever because it came from someone who showed him he deserved to be loved and he was worthy of affection.
You finally understood why Billy always kept you close, why he never let you wander too far from him, and why he had a hand on you at all times. Sometimes he held on a little too tight but it was because he didn’t want what he had to go away or be taken from him like it had all those years ago.
The little toy soldier that was attached to his keys was the first thing you ever gave him and he was constantly reaching into his pocket to make sure it was there. Just like the ornaments, the toy soldier might seem insignificant or small to anyone else, but to him, it was everything.
You gave him back some of the childhood that was taken from him and you will never forget the smile that stretched across his face.
Your parents always said that it was better to give than receive…and giving Billy a happy Christmas memory allowed you to finally experience what they had been talking about.
And they were absolutely right. Making Billy Russo smile really was the best feeling in the world.

Heal me.
pairing: Billy Russo x F!reader
warnings: none
wc: 1k
summary: Your first relationship was toxic, and your ex made sure you wouldn’t forget it. But little did he know, Billy would be the only man who could heal you.
When you told Billy you didn’t really get to experience a true relationship, his heart broke a little. The way your eyes had dropped to the floor, as if ashamed of the past you had no control over, made his chest tighten with an unfamiliar ache. Billy was used to seeing pain — he'd caused plenty of it himself — but something about the idea of you, his sweetheart, never knowing what real love felt like was unbearable.
He reached out, lifting your chin with a gentle finger, his dark eyes softening as they always do when he looked at you. "Doll, you deserve so much more than what you've been given. I promise I’m gonna show you what it's supposed to be like, yeah?”
You nodded, uncertainty flickering in your gaze, but there was also a glimmer of hope that hadn't been there before. Billy smiled, his thumb brushing your cheek with a tenderness that made your heart flutter.
---
The next few weeks were a learning curve for both of you. Billy, who had always been confident in his relationships — however short-lived they might have been — found himself slowing down, being more mindful and patient. He wanted you to know, to feel that this was different. That he was different.
It started with the small things. He noticed how you would hesitate to reach for his hand in public, your fingers twitching with the desire to make contact but pulling back as if unsure. So, he took the initiative, gently intertwining his fingers with yours whenever you walked beside each other, giving your hand a reassuring squeeze.
"You don't have to ask for this, doll," he'd whisper, leaning close so only you could hear. "You can take my hand anytime you want."
And when you finally did—one evening as the two of you walked along the river, your fingers slowly sliding into his on your own accord—the smile that lit up his face was brighter than any city skyline.
Then there were the nights you spent together. You'd told him how your ex would use silence as a weapon, how the absence of words would leave you feeling alone even when you weren’t. Billy hated that. He hated the person who did this to you so much, that he wanted to kill them. So, he made sure to fill the quiet with his voice, speaking to you in soft tones, telling you stories from his childhood, asking about your day, and even sharing silly little thoughts just to make you laugh.
One night, as you lay curled up against him with his arm draped over your waist, you asked him, your voice barely above a whisper, "Billy, why are you so good to me?"
He looked down at you, his expression one of genuine surprise. "You're everything to me. Why wouldn't I be good to you?"
You bit your lip, still not entirely convinced. "I just… I’ve never had this before. I don’t know if I deserve it."
That broke his heart all over again. He shifted, turning you to face him, his thumb tracing the outline of your jaw. "You deserve this and more, doll. You deserve everything that’s good in this world. Don’t ever doubt that. No more of that toxic shit, okay? Just us, taking care of each other."
You nodded, eyes misting with unshed tears. The way he looked at you, like you were precious, like you mattered—it was almost too much. But you let yourself believe him, just a little bit more every day.
---
As the months passed, you began to see the truth in Billy's words. He was patient with you, even when your insecurities tried to rear their ugly heads. If you ever hesitated or pulled back, he was there with a soft smile and a gentle touch, guiding you through the unfamiliar terrain of a healthy relationship.
One night, after a particularly tiring day at work, you came home to find Billy in the kitchen, cooking dinner. The smell of garlic and herbs filled the air, and the sight of him—hair slightly tousled, sleeves of his white shirt rolled up, focused entirely on making something for you—brought tears to your eyes. And you realised that he came from work, probably worn out after training his men all day and still, he stood in the kitchen making you food. You had never known this kind of care before, never known what it felt like to come home to someone who genuinely wanted to take care of you.
"Billy…" you started, your voice wavering.
He turned, concern immediately washing over his features as he saw the tears brimming in your eyes. He wiped his hands on a towel, coming over to you in quick strides. "Hey, what's wrong sweet girl? Did something happen?"
You shook your head, laughing softly even as a tear escaped and slid down your cheek. "No, nothing's wrong. It's just…You. Never had someone who… who wanted to take care of me like this."
Billy’s expression softened as he gently cupped your face in his hands, brushing away the hot tears with his thumb. "You're my baby. Of course, I wanna take care of you. That’s what love is, isn’t it? Being there for each other, making sure the other person is okay. That’s how it’s supposed to be.” He smiled, a small wrinkles forming around his eyes.
You leaned into his touch, feeling a warmth spread through your chest that you were slowly beginning to recognize as love. "I think I'm starting to understand that now." You murmur.
He smiled, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead. "Good. Because you deserve to be loved like this. And I’m gonna make sure you never forget that."
And as he pulled you into a warm embrace, holding you close, you realized that you were finally starting to believe it. Billy had shown you what real love was supposed to be—patient, kind, and full of understanding. He was helping you heal, helping you learn that you were worth all the love he had to give.
And for the first time in a long time, you felt like you were exactly where you belonged.

SUNFLOWERS TO MY LOVE
Sirius Black X Potter!fem!reader
Summary: Where Sirius spends the Christmas holiday at the Potter's house and brings a little gift to his girlfriend.
Words: 1.1K+
Warnings: Reader James's twin sister, mention of the Black family, quick mention of sex, cute couple and Sirius VERY in love.
Author: Saying that English is not my first language, I apologize for any errors that may appear throughout the story. If you don't understand, notify me✍🏽 And another thing, I'm thinking about writing to the hot (sorry) Billy Russo. What do you think?
MASTERLIST
Y/n Potter was a sweet, quiet, intelligent and naturally funny girl. Unlike his twin brother. James Potter.
Sure, he was smart and super funny. But what Y/n was calm and calm about, James was the hurricane himself.
And because of that, he freaked out at Sirius when he found out that Black was dating his twin sister. Which resulted in James punching his best friend in the face in their 4th year at Hogwarts.
But, thanks to Merlin, the two get along well and James accepted their relationship.
He seemed worse than parents at the time, telling and advising his sister what she should or shouldn't do with Sirius. Unlike Fleamont and Euphemia, who LOVED hearing the news about their relationship and had decent conversations with their daughter.
Now, three years later. Everything was going from good to better in Sirius and Y/n's relationship. As one was more peaceful than the other, fights were generally avoided.
Not like they never argued, but that didn't always happen at the end of fights.
It was currently the end of the year holiday and the Marauders decided to return home rather than spend Christmas at Hogwarts.
It was December 23rd and snow was falling lightly outside.
Y/n was in the bedroom finished drying her hair, while James was talking to Sirius in the fireplace room, who had just arrived.
"Hey! Sirius, dear. It's good to see you" Euphemia was passing by to go to the kitchen to prepare dinner, saw Sirius and smiled happily at her son-in-law.
"Effy!!" He looks back and smiles widely. He gets up and gives his girlfriend's mother a tight hug. "Happy to see you too"
Euphemia smiles and puts her hand on Black's shoulder.
"And how are you at home?" She asks more softly. Because the matter was delicate.
Sirius lowers his shoulder a little and says, "You know. They'll never get better. But I was lucky to come here for the holiday."
"That is good!!" Euphemia smiles and pats his shoulder twice. "You know you're very welcome here, right?" She smiles and Sirius nods.
"Right"
"Well, I'm going to go prepare dinner. You're going to stay here for the whole holiday, yes?" The twins' mother asks, looking hopefully at her son-in-law.
Sirius scratches the back of his head shyly.
"I would just stay for dinner today and come back on the 25th"
"Capable. You can sleep here. We love your presence" Euphemia smiles.
"Even more Y/n..." James says quietly, while looking at the walls of the room, even louder for the two of them to hear.
Sirius smiles as he rolls his eyes and Euphemia looks on reprimanding her son.
"James!!!"
James laughs.
"I'm sorry, mom"
Euphemia smiles and then turns to Sirius.
"Think better, the house is open for you"
Sirius shakes his head smiling and Euphemia then heads to the kitchen.
"By the way..." she turns and the two boys turn around. "Y/n is upstairs, in her room. She must have gotten out of the shower already."
Sirius smiles from ear to ear and nods.
Then, Euphemia turns around and goes to the kitchen to prepare dinner. While James was stretched out on the sofa near the fireplace and Sirius was still standing.
"Well, I'm going up to see the love of my life. Then I'll come down so we can talk more" Sirius smiles, winking at James and then picks up a bouquet of sunflowers, which was on the armchair where he was previously sitting.
James rolls his eyes smiling.
"Come on, I'll help mom in the kitchen" James gets up and pats his best friend's head.
Sirius reflexively closes his eyes and smiles, then goes up the stairs to Y/n's room.
As he walked up the stairs, he could hear a melody coming from James' twin's room.
From the tone of the music, he could tell it was from a Muggle record player.
The door to Y/n's room was half open. Sirius stops in front and can see his girlfriend humming the song while looking in the mirror and finishing her eyeliner.
Y/n was still singing when she saw Sirius smiling and admiring her in the mirror.
"Love!!" She turns around happy and smiling. "Goes into"
Sirius opens the door completely and approaches the dressing table where his girlfriend was sitting, giving her a kiss on the head and another on the lips.
"Hi, honey" he smiles and bends down to be as tall as she was. "I missed you"
"Me too, darling" Y/n smiles and kisses her boyfriend's lips again.
"Here, I brought it for you" Sirius says and removes the bouquet of sunflowers that was hidden behind his back.
Y/n's eyes shine, and Sirius's are filled even more with love.
"Merlin, they're beautiful" Y/n holds the bouquet and smells the flowers. "Thank you, love" she looks passionately at Sirius.
"All for you" he kisses his girlfriend's forehead before getting up and heading towards the bed. "So what was the girl doing?" He sits on Y/n's bed.
"Yesterday I went out with my father, and in one of the stores I saw a magazine with a beautiful eyeliner tutorial. I was testing it on myself. I had just finished it when you came in" She says, while placing the flowers inside the vase she had in the room. "look, I think I kind of killed it" Y/n stops in front of her boyfriend and closes her eyes.
"You always rock!!" He smiles proudly and holds his girlfriend's waist, pulling her towards him and the two of them falling back onto the bed.
"AAAH" Y/n screams in fright and laughs.
With that, Sirius had his hands on the girl's waist, while she had her hands on her boyfriend's chest.
"You're beautiful, you know that?" Sirius says looking at Y/n.
Y/n's cheeks turn red.
"You're blushing!!" Sirius pokes Y/n's cheek, teasing her.
Y/n feigns offense and tries to get out of her boyfriend's arms. But it's in vain.
"I'm not, no. You are"
Sirius laughs loudly.
"Don't fool me, doll," Sirius says, with a mischievous smile on his face.
"No...nooooo!!" Y/n says slowly and Sirius tilts his head to the side.
"A is??"
Sirius then starts tickling Y/n's side as she starts laughing uncontrollably.
"Siri-Sirius" she said aloud.
Sirius turns them both around, changing position. This way, he was more in awe of his girlfriend's body, so he could tickle her more.
"Okay, okay!! I really turned red" Y/n says loudly and then Sirius stops tickling and puts both hands on the side of her head.
"Really?"
"Yes yes!!" Y/n kisses her finger and puts it on Sirius' lips.
He laughs.
"I'll only believe you if you do this eyeliner on me"
Y/n widens her eyes happily.
"Serious??"
"Yes, doll"
Y/n lets out a happy squeal and then rolls over on the bed to get out from under Sirius and grab the tube of eyeliner.
"Okay, sit there and lean against the headboard" she says, returning to the bed and Sirius obeys.
He leans back and stretches his legs. Motioning with his hands for Y/n to sit on his thighs.
Y/n walks up to him and does as asked. Accommodating himself so he could have a better view of Sirius' eyes, to better practice the eyeliner style.
"Hey, hey. Just don't move around too much." Sirius says swallowing hard and Y/n understands the message.
She laughs loudly.
"Okay, I'm sorry," she says and then leans in to do her eyeliner.
With that, James walked past the girl's bedroom door, widened his eyes and turned around.
"By Merlin!!!" He says loudly and the couple looks.
"That's not what you're thinking at all," Sirius says and they both laugh.
James turns back to Y/n's room with a frown in his eyes.
"Apparently I'm going to have to sleep on the couch today. I don't want to hear ANYTHING strange in the early hours of the morning" James says and then walks to the next room. Which was his.
Y/n just rolls her eyes smiling and turns back to Sirius.
"Oh, I'm glad he's going to sleep on the couch. That way we can last longer" Black says with a crooked smile in his eyes.
"SIRIUS ORION BLACK!!" Y/n scolds and he laughs.

Ma’am, you are the Queen of Cliffhangers, and no one will ever top you’re ability to pull an audience in for sure. This chick should just move in with him at this point. Like come on you two idiots be doing the eye freak nasty from across the street! Ugh!!!!
Anyway can’t wait for the next one
Teeth
Part 8!
Werepanther! Billy Russo x Female Reader
Masterlist
Warnings: Robbery, knives, angst.
A/N: Look, *deep breath* I'm sorry.
I should just forget about him, you think to yourself on the walk home.
It was embarrasing, you hadn't seen him in days since he left you in that elevator, and the absence of him managed to make you feel even worse.
He hadn't been home either, you'd kept the curtains parted so that you could catch any movements in his windows. So far, nothing.
It had made you feel so upset and you couldn't even figure out why. Maybe you were getting too attached to him.
Exposing yourself so intimately, sabotaging your work relationship and there was nothing to be gained from it anyway. He just wasn't interested in you like that.
You were maybe a little glad too, at least you knew you weren't in any trouble for the little show you'd put on.
Or were you?
What if his stoicism towards you was because he was planning to fire you.
No, no, it made no sense, his phone call after he'd seen you had been too intimate. If there was going to be any consequences, it would have happened by now.
Right?
Ugh, you didn't know, and you just wanted to forget this had ever happened.
You sigh, tugging your phone out and absentmindedly trying to book an appointment with your therapist. Maybe she would help you feel better about your new work environment.
Your shoulder bumps harshly into someone, and you raise your head to apologise.
You've made a wrong turn somewhere, too taken in with your phone to notice that you've turned down an isolated alleyway.
"S-sorry." You murmur, backing away, only to bump into another figure.
Holy shit this was bad.
"Give me the bag." The first man says evenly, angling his head toward the pale pink handbag hanging off your elbow.
"Please, I don't want any trouble." You say, pocketing your phone quickly, carefully pressing the power button a couple of times to send a distress signal. You had it set so that Dani and Amy would receive alerts if you needed help.
The first man, pulls a knife out of his pocket, you watch warily as the blade springs out of the handle with a wicked glint. You can feel your phone begin to vibrate endlessly as your friends try to call to figure out if this was accidental or not.
Your heart is racing, but you find that your thinking is razor sharp, only a little bit of panic swimming through you.
If there had been only one man, running would have been a good option, but with the second man at your back, you have no choice but to surrender your bag.
Your work laptop was in there, and your wallet, you really hated to lose either one of those things.
The man takes it from you and then steps closer, his knife still pointed in your direction.
"Now the jewellery and the phone." He prompts.
Your hands shake, you needed to find a way to keep holding onto your phone.
You tug your watch off easily, and your earrings, they were just cheap pieces that were your favourite, but ultimately replaceable.
The panther necklace, was not, and you would not give it up without a fight, however stupid that would be.
You extend your watch and earrings to the man, letting them slip from your hand at the very second and watching it fall.
It's that moment, with one man distracted, you turn to run.
The other man is fast, he reaches for you, pushes you into the nearby wall.
You're stunned for a moment, and you feel the scrape of his nails as he tears your necklace off your neck, and when he gets in close to grab your phone, you bring your knee up to kick him straight between the legs. He bends over in pain, and you take the opportunity to slip away, running as fast as you can out of the lonely alley. You don't stop until you're out in a public place.
You reach for your phone, pulling it out, several missed calls from both Dani and Amy flood your phone.
You update them quickly, and they direct you to the nearest police precinct.
As you head there, you dial Anvil's IT department, explaining the situation so that they can restrict access from your account to the server.
You're sitting in the precinct when Amy makes it to you. She takes you into a hug, pulling back to study your form.
Her eyes catch the two deep scratches on your neck, short red lines where the man's nails had clawed into you while ripping your necklace from your neck.
She hugs you again tighter than before, surprising you with her strength.
"I'm okay." You mumble against her shoulder.
Honestly, you couldn't feel a thing, your emotions had been shocked numb from the minute you'd seen the knife.
What rotten luck, to have experienced what you have, essentially hitting some type of morbid trifecta, a murderer, a stalker and now a thief.
You find yourself laughing into Amy's shoulder, and you can't stop.
She pulls back in shock, looking up at you.
You laugh harder when you see the concerned expression on her face.
"There's too many plot points," You try to explain to her, though you're not sure you're making any sense, "If my life was a book this would be a shitty amount of coincidence."
There's a quiet silence as she takes in your words, observing your laughter, and notes the way your eyes fill with tears.
"Oh love," She murmurs after a moment. "Multiple bad things happen to people all the time."
Your laughter turns sour, something awful fills your throat, your lip trembles for a small moment as you fight the emotion, and then like a dam breaking, it spills from you in little sobs.
"This is too much," You gasp, feeling her arms squeeze you tighter as you cry, "Why do these things keep happening to me?"
You cry harder against her, she soothes you with her embrace.
"They took my necklace." You say sadly against her.
She makes a sympathetic sound. She knew how much it means to you.
"We'll get it back, love, didn't you have a tag in your bag just for this reason?"
"Yeah," you sniffle, "there's one in my wallet, I gave the cops access to find it, and Anvil also has something on the laptop."
"See? Don't lose hope yet."
You sigh, there was a location on your wallet and laptop, but there was no guarantee that the necklace would even be in the same place. You felt so disconnected now, so unsafe. There was no panther coming to protect you here.
"Why don't we go home? If the police find anything, they can call you. Waiting here is too tedious." Amy suggests, and you nod in agreement, sniffling a little and pulling away. She tugs a tissue from her little bag and you accept it gratefully.
You don't live too far from the precinct, and a ten minute drive in a taxi and you're there.
Amy doesn't leave you, and Dani arrives when you're in the shower.
You sit with them, enjoying tea in your living room, and after a long talk about your ordeal, and the endless reassurances from them that you're safe now, they decide to distract you with Studio Ghibli movies.
It sort of works, though your most recent ordeal reminds you of your past ones.
Somehow, you think that your past experience with the murderer, made this one more manageable, it's probably why you had a clear head from the moment the man pulled out the knife. However bad this was, it was nothing compared to being hunted in the woods at night.
A knock at your front door startles you, and you jump at the booming sound.
Dani reaches to pause the movie, and for a moment you're too stunned to move.
"Who is it?" You call, pulling the sheets away from your body and rising to a stand.
"It's Billy." He answers, voice muffled through the wood.
You suck in a breath, trying to ignore the shocked expressions on Amy and Dani's face, making your way to the door and taking a small breath before opening it up.
You don't get much of a word in before you're being pulled right into his arms.
You stand there, shocked beyond reason as his arms encircle you. Your body responds eagerly to his embrace, relaxing against him so easily that it would scare you if you could be anything other than shocked.
Your arms lift, wrapping around him to return his hold, wondering how on earth you ended up in this position.
It feels so right to hold him, to pull him even closer and feel him respond by tightening his embrace, until it feels like a hug between old friends.
His scent wraps around you, and you rise onto your toes, eager to catch more of the jasmine and oak that his body smells of.
How on earth does he make you feel so safe? So protected in a way you haven't felt in such a long time.
"Are you hurt?" He asks after a moment, large hand cupping the back of your neck as you pull away.
"I'm okay." You say simply, watching the way his eyes roam down your face and stop at the scratches on your neck.
He lets out a slow breath, fingers trailing over your neck, his thumb brushing the deep welts.
You gasp when his thumb swipes a little too close, a frown forming on his face.
"I lost my company laptop-"
"-That's alright," he soothes, "It's not the first time, and my consultant helped me put some vigorous security protocols into place."
You find yourself grinning at him, and he smiles back.
"If you need anything, anything at all, please call me."
You take a moment, looking into his eyes, trying to figure out how he could be so cold one moment and so surprisingly warm the next.
"Okay."
"Promise me."
"I promise."
He lets out a shaky breath, before you know it, he's placing a careful kiss to the top of your head and your heart is doing rapid palpitations at the sensation.
You say goodbye to him as you close the door, waiting a moment before snapping the lock shut.
You turn in shock, leaning against the door, eyes wide and breathing rapid.
"Ohmygod." You rush out, turning to look at Dani and Amy in a 'can you believe that just happened?' type of way.
"I thought you said he doesn't like you." Dani says with a tone of confusion in her voice.
"He doesn't." You answer, not fully sounding quite so sure.
Amy huffs.
"I don't know about you, but that man quite clearly and obviously wants you bad." She states.
Oh how you wish it were true.
.
You're barely able to sleep all night, despite the fact that you know both your friends are asleep in other rooms or your apartment. You're less lonely than usual, and arguably a little more safe, and yet still, you can't relax your body for long enough to sleep.
The only thing that really calms you, is the reminder of what it was like to be in his arms.
You roll onto your side, pulling a pillow as close to you as possble, wrapping your arms around it and imagining that it's him.
Your brain refuses to accept the placebo, too focused on what's missing, his scent, his hearbeat, the warmth of his body- you flop around angrily, deciding to watch videos on your phone instead of sleeping.
You don't notice it's morning until you spot the sunlight spilling through the gaps in your curtains.
You let out a long sigh, sitting up and moving to your living room.
Both women are already awake too. Amy takes one look at you and sighs.
"Not a wink, huh?"
"You know me so well." You reply with a teasing smile.
They both have to get to work, and you reassure them that you're actually not doing so bad, you'd been able to get a few days off of work yourself.
"Call us if you need anything," Dani says, kissing the top of your head as she leaves, "Or call that hot boss of yours."
"He doesn't like me like that!" You call out to them as they leave, and you hear their laughter through the door, no doubt disagreeing with your words out of earshot.
You sigh, sipping on your coffee with indignation.
You spend the day lazing around, looking up the application processes for getting new identification and replacing all the additional cards you had in your wallet.
You'd already called the bank and put in a request to freeze your cards, still holding out hope that you might be able to get your wallet back instead of having to go get new cards for everything.
You frown, raising your hand to your neck, feeling for the necklace you lost, hating that you felt like something was missing all throughout the day.
When you get a call from the precinct in the afternoon, telling you that your bag had been recovered, you'd been so happy to hear it.
You'd gotten dressed, grabbed your keys and your phone with the intention of grabbing a taxi on the street, but suddenly found difficulty in actually leaving your apartment.
What was going on with you?
The idea that leaving your place meant you were at risk of being attacked again sent so much fear down your spine that you shut your door and curled up on your couch in distress.
You were scared.
Simply put, the very thought of being out in the open, so vulnerable, filled you with trepidation.
Someone could attack you again, maybe even finish the job this time. The photo of you leaving Amy's apartment comes to mind.
You didn't know if someone was still following you. What if they were? What if they were waiting for you right outside?
How many close calls could you have before you ran out of luck?
The memory of his voice comes back to you.
"Promise me." He'd said.
You take a deep breath and pull out your phone.

This was a bad dream. It had to be. There was no other logical way to explain why you were currently sitting in an interrogation room at a precinct, being questioned by police about a man that you had gone on a blind date with not even twelve hours ago, who had been found stabbed to death in an alley two blocks away from your apartment building.
It was just a nightmare. It wasn’t real. All you had to do was open your eyes, and this would all go away. You knew how to deal with nightmares. You knew how to escape them. You’d been running and hiding from them your whole life. All you had to do was open your eyes, and the sinister shadows wouldn't be able to sink their claws into your subconscious to trap you in the dark. Just open them, and this will all disappear.
Just open your eyes.
“Miss Y/L/N?”
The detective’s voice swiftly brought you out of the trance of denial your mind had wandered into, and your eyes snapped open. To your dismay, nothing changed. The two detectives were still sitting across the table from you, the metal cold against your sweaty palms, one eying you warily while the other regarded you with a more sympathetic stare. The chair beneath you was still stiff and uncomfortable, the light above was still a harsh shade of artificial brightness, and the large piece of glass to your right that reflected your terrified expression still made you feel unsettled knowing there was someone watching you just on the other side of that two-way pane.
“I…I’m sorry. What was the question?”
The waver in your voice gave away how shaken you were by the whole ordeal. When the police had shown up at your office an hour ago stating they needed to bring you in for questioning regarding the murder of Adam Mercer, shock had instantly shot through your entire nervous system, chilling the very blood in your veins with an icy sense of dread.
This was the kind of thing you heard about happening in the news. A tragedy that struck someone else’s life. A nameless, faceless person whose existence you were unaware of. It was the kind of thing nobody ever thought could happen to them, until it did.
The older detective, the more commiserating one, had said they thought it was some kind of mugging gone wrong. It wasn’t an uncommon occurrence in New York City, unfortunately. The dazzling city was also dangerous. But since you were the last person to see Adam alive, they needed as much information as you could give them about the last few hours of his life. For some odd reason, it filled you with a sense of guilt that his final moments had been spent with you, a complete stranger, instead of someone else.
Adam had been a really nice guy. He’d seemed to enjoy the date. He’d thrown his head back and laughed like a little kid at a stupid joke you’d told. He’d flashed you a charming smile when you’d nearly knocked your glass of wine over into your pasta. He’d animatedly told you about his family’s tradition of selecting a perfect tree together at a local Christmas farm back in his home state of Jersey every holiday season. He’d been sweet and gentle and respectful. But had he been happy?
Had he succumbed to the inevitable fate of death at his attacker’s hands without a fight? Did he even see it coming? Had he had that moment, where everything flashed before his eyes, all his mistakes, all his regrets, all the would’ve, could’ve, should'ves?
You knew what that feeling was like. You’d been there, once before. Nothing makes you want to live more than Death deciding to show up at your door and pick the lock with its cold, bony fingers to collect a bounty early.
Thirteen times. Adam had been brutally stabbed thirteen times. It was excessive for a mugging. It felt more personal, that kind of anger and passion. As morbid as the thought was, you hoped the first one had killed him. You hoped he that went into shock swiftly and bled out just as fast so he hadn’t suffered through the next twelve.
Holding his pen in his right hand, the tip hovering over his worn yellow pocket sized notepad, Detective Craven repeated his question.
“How well did you know Adam?”
“I…I didn’t. I’d never met him until last night. My roommate um…she knew him. She’s the one who set us up.”
“Your roommate being Miss Riley?”
Detective Williamson had his hands clasped together in front of him on the table. He lifted one of his brows while waiting for you to answer his question. Swallowing thickly, you gave a faint nod of your head and dropped your hands to your lap, fidgeting with them under the table anxiously.
“Yeah, Annie.”
Detective Craven cleared his throat, reading over his notes with his honey brown eyes as he continued his questioning.
“Now, you said he picked you up at your apartment around eight-thirty, the two of you had dinner at Maureen’s, and then he dropped you back off at your place around eleven. He left right after that?”
“Yeah, he…um…we said goodnight, he said he’d like to see me again, and then he told me he’d call me tomorrow.”
“He didn’t come up to your apartment at all?”
Detective Williamson didn’t bother hiding the skepticism in his voice, or the implication behind his words, his icy blue eyes locked on you in an almost unsettling way.
“No, he dropped me off at the front steps of the building.”
“And you didn’t see where he went when he left? Didn’t give him one last look after a goodnight kiss?”
A flash of annoyance broke through your stunned disbelief at the invasive second question. You hadn’t said anything about a kiss. The younger detective seemed to be fishing for a crack in your alibi for some reason, trying to catch you in a lie that didn’t exist. A flicker of defensiveness crept into your voice when you spoke.
“No, after we said goodnight, I went inside.”
Before Detective Williamson could ask another thinly veiled judgmental question, Detective Craven stood up, shooting his partner a silencing look. Glancing down at you with a warmer expression, the older man gestured towards the door with his hand.
“That’s all the questions we have for now. We appreciate you speaking with us. I’ll walk you out.”
The precinct was bustling. Various murmurs of conversation buzzed in your ears. People were breezing past in every direction, but amidst the sea of chaos, you spotted a familiar head of blonde hair. Annie jumped up from the chair she’d been sitting in and forced her way through the waves of people, not once muttering an “excuse me” or waiting for someone to move out of her way. A true New Yorker.
Detective Craven placed his hand on your shoulder to get your attention and held out a white business card that had all of his information on it in embossed black text.
“If you can think of anything else that might be helpful, don’t hesitate to call.”
Taking the card into your hand, you looked up at him and forced a tight smile onto your lips, giving him a faint nod of your head.
“Of course.”
After giving your shoulder a light squeeze, Detective Craven gave Annie a nod of acknowledgement before turning and disappearing back inside the interrogation room. As soon as you turned to face her, Annie’s face contorted into an expression of pity and concern. She immediately pulled you into a hug, and it took everything in you not to crumble under the weight of your own overwhelming emotions.
“Come on, let’s go home.”
»»——— ———««
Annie had swiftly shot down your plan to go back to work before the words could even fully leave your lips. All you wanted to do was dive head first into a distraction, to immerse yourself fully in the piles of paper and black ink sitting on your desk that were waiting to transport you to another universe and into the body of someone else whose world hadn’t just been flipped upside down. Again.
Instead, she brought you back to your shared apartment, uncorked a bottle of wine for each of you, and did her best to help you sort through the shock and the ripples it caused within you. She didn’t understand that your instinct was to run and hide, and that was because she didn’t understand you, not really. But that wasn’t her fault. She could only understand what you allowed her to, and there were huge pieces of yourself you kept hidden from her and everyone else beneath carefully crafted layers.
Pieces you were not ready to uncover and face yet.
The following morning when you showed up to work at the publishing house, it felt like everyone was looking through you instead of at you. Everyone had heard what happened, had seen the two detectives escorting you out of your office, but none of your coworkers said a word. Not to your face, anyway. You could feel the weight of their lingering stares, their hushed whispers floating past your ear like a cold autumn breeze. It was a familiar territory you’d already escaped once.
To your relief, you hadn’t been harassed by reporters wanting an exclusive on the story. Unfortunately, crimes like what had happened to Adam were a dime a dozen in this city. You felt guilty for feeling grateful for that, but not having cameras shoved in your face to be broadcast on news outlets that circulated on social media worked in your favor. You had come to the city that millions of people called home for a reason. You came here to disappear, to be invisible. The last thing you needed was to be thrust into a spotlight that would attract attention you’d gone to great lengths to avoid.
In the midst of trying to drown out the white noise of suspicious gossip and ignoring the way the stares penetrating the glass windows of your office made your insides twist in dreaded knots, you almost missed the sound of a knock at your door. Lifting your head, you were met with the sight of the last person you ever expected to see standing in the doorway.
Billy Russo.
He was significantly more dressed up than the last time you’d seen him, looking every bit the illustrious CEO, although that signature arrogant smirk of his seemed to be missing for once. His tall frame was covered in a deep navy blue three piece suit with a crisp white dress shirt beneath the matching tie, a dark charcoal gray thick coat layering over top. His raven hair was gelled back perfectly, just like it was that night at the bar, but the gleam of mischief in his dark brown eyes was absent. As he stood in the doorway of your office, nearly taking up the entire frame, he seemed to be looking at you in an expression of something that resembled concern.
“Billy.”
The surprise in your hushed tone rang clear in the quiet of your office. Billy removed the black leather gloves from his hands, slipping them into the pocket of his overcoat.
“This a bad time?”
Your lips parted slightly as your eyes flickered down to the open manuscript on your desk before looking up at him again.
“Um…no. No…I…what are you doing here?”
Billy took a step forward into your office and quietly closed the door behind himself.
“Just came by to check on ya.”
“Check on me?”
“Derek told me what happened.”
Billy kept his eyes locked on you as he explained the reasoning behind his unexpected visit, watching you closely.
Derek Becker was a friend of Billy’s. They had served in the military together, and he now worked for Billy’s private security company, Anvil. Derek also happened to be Annie’s boyfriend. A few months back, the two of them had tried to set you and Billy up. The four of you had gone out to a bar for drinks, but instead of hitting it off with Billy, you’d found him narcissistic, and you’d had no interest in pursuing anything romantic with him. Although, based on how he had interacted with you that night, it had seemed like he hadn’t been looking for anything romantic either, just a night of physical release.
Because Annie was your best friend and roommate, and Derek was often around, you’d seen Billy a few times since then, but it wasn’t like the two of you were friends. Needless to say, the fact that he’d made the trip to your office to check on your mental wellbeing was a bit of a shock.
“I’m fine.”
Billy arched one of his dark brows, and the ghost of a smile graced the edge of his lips.
“You almost sounded like you meant that.”
You opened your mouth to fire back a retort, to protest the underlying accusation in his words, but your defense got stuck in your throat. Seeing the look on your face, Billy’s faint amusement quickly disappeared, and he let out a deep exhale through his nose as he took a few steps closer towards your desk.
“I’m sorry, I’m not here to be a dick. But it’s alright if you’re not fine. Normal people wouldn’t be fine in this situation.”
“Normal people?”
Billy stared down at you for a moment silently before turning his head to look out the glass window of your office, rubbing his large palm over his mouth and perfectly trimmed beard. Looking down at you again, a flicker of amusement was back in his gaze, and there was a hint of a smile on his lips.
“I got a real good habit of sayin’ the wrong thing with you, huh?”
The self deprecation you detected in his smooth voice surprised you. You’d never heard him say anything that didn’t have an undertone of superiority or didn’t sound prideful. The guy standing in front of you wasn’t acting like the cocky rich playboy you were used to, and it made you wonder for a second if that’s what it really was; an act. A flicker of newfound curiosity had you wondering if Billy’s persona was as carefully crafted as your own.
“I don’t know if I’d call that a good habit.”
Billy let out a puff of air past his lips, giving a faint shake of his head in faux disapproval.
“Kickin’ a man while he’s down? That’s ruthless, sweetheart.”
“I think your ego can survive being knocked down a few pegs.”
Billy let out a deep chuckle at that, and his lips spread into a wolfish grin.
“Between you and me, it’s a bit more fragile than you think.”
You looked at him in faux shock, an overly dramatic gasp leaving your lips.
“What? You mean the ego you overcompensate for with designer clothes and fancy cars is delicate?”
Billy rolled his eyes and held his hand up in a gesture of surrender.
“Alright, alright. I get it. You’ve kept me humble enough for one day.”
To your surprise, and to Billy’s, you smiled. It was small, but it was real and genuine. Billy’s impromptu visit was the last thing you expected to provide a lighthearted distraction to the whirlwind of chaos that had been plaguing you since yesterday.
As much as you hadn’t been able to stand him the night you met him, you couldn’t deny that the banter between you came effortlessly. Within the first five minutes of meeting him, you’d called him a ‘self obsessed dumbass’, and instead of getting offended, he’d smiled. It had quickly launched into a battle of wits, who could come up with the more clever retort faster, and it only took half an hour for Derek and Annie to become exhausted, realizing they’d made a huge mistake and miscalculated their match making skills. Billy seemed to enjoy antagonizing you, and you couldn’t resist putting a man like him in his place.
Everytime the two of you were around each other, it was exactly the same. Just an endless cycle of unrequited flirting and unrestrained snark.
“Humble is not exactly a word I’d use to describe you, Russo.”
Before Billy could respond, your office door suddenly opened and your boss walked in, glancing between you and Billy in a mixture of curiosity and barely concealed displeasure. He seemed to size him up before turning his attention towards you, not so subtly letting his eyes roam over your figure sitting behind your desk in a way that made your skin crawl, which wasn’t missed by Billy. John gestured his head in Billy’s direction.
“Another detective?”
There was clear annoyance in John’s voice that didn’t go unnoticed by you. It wasn’t lost on Billy either, and his posture seemed to go rigid.
“No. No, um…friend.”
Friend. Using that word to describe Billy tasted foreign on your tongue, but Billy didn’t appear to react to it. His dark brown eyes sized John up in a similar fashion as your boss had done to him, only Billy didn’t even attempt to hide his judgment and lack of impression.
“You know, most people knock before just walkin’ in.”
Both yours and John’s heads turned towards Billy. You were momentarily stunned by the way Billy had so casually called out John’s abrupt intrusion, and John looked visibly irritated, but he turned to face Billy with a forced smile on his mouth.
“I don’t think we’ve met. I’m John Altieri. I own this publishing house.”
Unlike John, Billy didn’t plaster a fake smile on his face for politeness, or speak in a faux friendly tone. Maintaining eye contact, he reached out to grasp John’s outstretched hand with more firmness than necessary as he shook it.
“Billy Russo. I own the building.”
That bombshell had you sitting up straighter in your chair and blinking a few times in surprise. Billy owned the building? Since when? That was definitely news to you.
The smile on John’s face faltered for a moment, but he quickly recovered and nodded, trying to appear unphased by that revelation.
“Pleasure. If you don’t mind, I have some important things to discuss with Y/N/N. In private.”
Billy outwardly looked calm and collected, but you swore you saw a flicker of anger in his dark brown eyes. He didn’t seem to like hearing your boss refer to you with a nickname that was spoken with too saccharine of a tone for a superior to speak about their employee. Not that you liked it either. John seemed to always maintain a balance on that tightrope of not being inappropriate enough to report him to HR, but being too friendly for you to not feel uncomfortable.
The bastard was clever, you’d give him that. He knew what he was doing. He was careful and cautious enough that it couldn’t be classified as textbook harassment, and could be argued as a simple misunderstanding. It made you want to stab him with your pen every time you caught him staring at your chest or your legs.
After letting a purposeful uncomfortable moment of silence pass, Billy looked down at John, that signature smirk you were used to seeing on his lips spreading slowly like a sun rising over the skyline.
“Of course.”
Turning his head to look at you again, Billy gave you a faint nod of his head and a wink.
“See ya later, sweetheart.”
Giving John one last final unimpressed and cold side eye, Billy pulled his leather gloves out of his overcoat pocket and turned to leave your office with a confident stride, leaving you and John alone in your office, and your mind swirling with a flurry of questions about Billy Russo.
»»——— ———««
By the time you walked through the front door of yours and Annie’s shared apartment, all you wanted was a hot shower and a few hours of sleep. You’d spent last night tossing and turning, haunted by the nightmare your life had once again turned into, and you felt the exhaustion in every cell of your body. Tossing your keys into the little green bowl on the side table by the front door, your footsteps were slow and sluggish as you headed down the hall on the left towards your bedroom.
Dropping your purse onto your bed, you sat down on the edge of it and slipped off your shoes, letting them drop on the hardwood floor with a soft thud. Letting out a deep exhale, you closed your eyes and hunched over, covering your face with both of your hands. The muffled noise of your ringtone began to sound from your purse. Dragging your palms down your face, you slipped one of your hands into your purse to dig for your phone blindly, absentmindedly hitting the answer button and bringing it to your ear.
“Hello?”
“Hello Y/N.”
The voice that sounded on the other end of the line wasn’t one you recognized. Pulling your phone away from your ear, you looked down at the lit screen and read “unknown caller”. A furrow creased between your brows as you brought your phone back up to your ear, running one of your hands through the roots of your hair to push it back.
“I’m sorry, who is this?”
“I guess your new boyfriend didn’t make the cut.”
Immediately your hand froze, and your eyes widened. A mix of confusion, disbelief, and anger coursed through you, but the latter won out.
“Excuse me?”
Your tone quickly shifted from one of puzzlement to pure fury as you sat up straighter. A sinister chuckle from the deep mysterious voice on the other end of the line further incensed you.
“Did you really think I’d let anyone else have you, Cassia?”
The phone slipped out of your hand, dropping to the floor below with a harsh sound that didn’t even register in your ears. A pit of dread opened up in your stomach, and fear trickled down your spine as if someone had started to trace the frozen sharp tip of an icicle along the back of your neck. Panic spread through your nervous system like a lit match to a dehydrated forest, and the four walls of your bedroom began to close in around you, squeezing the last breath of oxygen from your lungs.
No one in New York knew that name.
You’d left it back in California, along with your past. The past that had forced you to run to the other side of the country and bury every trace of who you were before. The past that you tried so hard to forget and cover up with a new identity and a new life. The past that was taunting you from the other end of the line.
The past that had come back, and murdered Adam.
He’d found you.

Hii,can I request headcanons for a psychiatrist hange zoe x insane reader
(Hope this fits your rules)
insane as you are — h. zoë
PAIRING. Hange Zoë x female reader
SYNOPSIS. Your psychiatrist helped you escape the asylum.
CONTENT. blood, stabbing, angst, murder, inaccuracies (i can do smth worse than this, let's do that next time)
A/N. I shortcircuited writing this: Hange is insane too with an "I can fix her" syndrome. billy russo and krista dumont from the punisher s2 kinda inspired me to write it like this
"This is somewhat unoriginal of you. I was betting you'd come up with something better," Hange heaved a grunt, trying to keep the knife you drove through their shoulder in place. The gun you stole from the guard outside your door had four missing bullets, not even one caught you in the encounter—such a shame. Your eyes flicked over their slumped form against the wall.
"Sorry for putting you in such a situation, Hans," you walked over and kissed their forehead. "I'll see you later, okay?"
"Don't get killed on your way out."
"Won't be."
-
It wasn't a great plan to begin with. Just because you were locked away in some cheap standard comic asylum doesn't mean all the guards are stupid. You weren't superhuman either so that's a far stretch of a difference from the escape stories you read about on your stay there.
What irritated you the most was probably the bullet that gashed the surface of your cheek right when you couldn't afford to be bleeding out.
It was rough. The guards put up a fight. Just a standard Tuesday night.
You had to thank Hange for the lowered security, and failing machinery inside. Only then did escaping become possible with getting little to no injury.
Once the red and blue lights of police cars zipped through the streets, you knew it was headed for the old, cheap asylum that housed you for at least five years.
Snow drizzled outside, the night bluish with speckles of snowflakes falling. You caught one on your finger and almost laughed at yourself for wanting to cry. You forgot what snow felt like. The place treated you like a sewer rat with very little ventilation. You only had small, barred clerestory, and mud-colored bricks to gaze at in each waking moment. Even the sheets are bland.
Only when Hange arrived in your life did you have the chance to see what was outside after such a long time. It's been a year since the asylum sent an overqualified psychiatrist in front of you and it brings a smile to your face at where you at now.
The night was cold but you were warmed by the thick coat you stole from a stranger on your way out. You left the poor man bleeding on the pavement but thankfully not a speck splattered on the coat. It has such an expensive, natural color to be stained.
You sat obscured on a rotting bench near the alleyway, waiting for your lover. Sure the proceedings may take longer than you'd like. They will be interrogated, after all.
A few minutes and many strangers passed by after you spotted their familiar dark green coat. They turned on the next street and you soon followed.
-
"They did such a half-assed job on this one. No wonder you're still bleeding," you complained, tearing the poorly wrapped bandage on Hange's shoulder.
"Are you even surprised by such a degree of incompetence at this point?" Hange chuckled, taking a shot of brandy. You were straddled on their lap as you bandaged them properly.
"I guess not."
"We dodged a bullet back there, you know," Hange said, setting down their glass to place their hands on your hips.
"What happened?"
"They sent someone too curious for her own good. Almost had evidence against us. But we staged it well somehow."
A laugh escaped your lips, "We did not."
"I know," Hange laughed, showing you that broad, charming smile you love. "We need to get away in a week or so. We can't hide for long."
"I have some plans you might want to hear about."
"Go on. Shoot."
You took the bottle of brandy from the side table, not even bothering with the glass. You gulped the liquid down your throat, missing the burn of the alcohol.
You set it back down and took Hange's face on yours which was already focused on you anyway.
"You sure about this?" you asked.
"About what?"
"This thing we planned. Running away."
"We planned this long ago."
"But are you sure?"
"Yes."
A sigh, perhaps of relief, passed your lips. Then you smiled.
"You're insane, Dr. Zoë."
They grinned, squeezing your hips a bit, "Try me."
_
But good things don't last as much as you'd love them to. You were bound for destruction no matter how much you tried to keep your bloody hands to yourself.
"Hey, baby, please," Hange called with a sigh, nursing the shallow gash in their arm as they kneeled in front of you.
The bloody knife unfurled from your fists, clattering against the floor.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry," you sobbed. Their hands tried to reach yours but you were afraid to touch them again.
"I know you didn't mean it," Hange tried to soothe your sobs, brushing a tear from your cheek.
"You should just call the police," you mumbled, hugging your knees.
"I'm not doing that after we've been through," Hange said strongly. "Our flight will be in a few days."
"I don't want to hurt you again. I didn't mean to—"
Hange sensed another burst of apology from you again. They cupped your face, forehead leaning against yours.
"I know, Y/N, I know," they ran a hand through your hair. They gently tugged you to your feet and pulled you on the couch with them.
"I thought it would be okay again," you said through tears, gaze falling down your hands with much hatred and disappointment. I thought I’d be okay again.
"It will be. Eventually. We don't have to rush anything."
Their small side hug warmed your heart and yet you still couldn't get around the fact that you're dangerous, even for Hange. Knowing that you can't even control that sort of impulse was a slap in the face.
"Are you willing to give all of these up, everything you built?" you said slowly, fiddling with your hands. "For me?"
They laced their hands around yours, pressing a kiss on your cheek.
"You know I will," Hange said softly. With a gentle sigh, they added, "We'll be okay."
"I'm not sure about the me part."
A humorless smile spread on your lips.
"I want you to be okay on your own terms," Hange can't help but crack a smile. "Damn, I can lose my license ten times over just by saying that."
You laughed, pushing your fear to the back of your mind this time. You kissed them, as gently as you could, as if they would fall apart in your hands.
"I think I get what you mean."
Hange knew it wouldn't be easy. Only god knows how many times you'll turn up at their door with blood on your hands from people you don't remember or how many times they'll meet the end of your knife. But only Hange knew and understood your internal turmoil. The urge to just cut off your own hands rather than hurt them again. Hange found the gentleness built within your walls. It was fiery and stinging. It hurts to hold. But akin to the moth to a flame, Hange still held you closer and closer even if it felt like digging a knife deeper into their chest. They persevered even with all the awareness of the faults these situations present. They didn't spend years studying psychiatry only to wander from patient to patient, hoping some of the therapy would stick. They knew they could piece you together in some semblance of normal. And they knew you'd let them.

Chapter Four
It all happened faster than you could think. You moved with a speed you never knew that you possessed, pushing him away with a strength that, in the moment, felt superhuman.
You heard the startled oof as he hit the floor, but you were already halfway to the door before he found his voice and managed to call after you, demanding that you wait, that you stop.
You didn’t stop.
You couldn’t stop.
You felt sick and you needed to get out, your hands desperately pulled your clothes and mask back into place as you tumbled through the door. Turning, you slammed into the solid shape of Rocky and felt his hands on your arms. Concern painted his face as you looked up at him.
“You okay? What happened? Did he try somethin’?”
You shook your head, lifting your hand to cover your mouth as the churning in your stomach got worse.
“No, I - I feel - I’m gonna be sick...” was all you managed.
Rocky released his hold on you and let you stagger away, rushing back to the safety of the locker room, knowing that Billy wouldn’t be able to get to you in there. You crashed into a bathroom stall, ignoring the pain as your knees hit the cold tiles and you started to wretch, tears spilling from your eyes as you emptied your stomach.
Awkward sobs started to slip out as you gripped the toilet bowl for dear life, knowing that your whole life was in ruins.
You weren’t sure how much time passed but, eventually, you felt a hand on your back. Turning, your bleary eyes fixed on Val, who no doubt wanted to know why you’d just run out on a customer like the room was on fire. Her fingers slipped the mask from your face and she cupped your cheek for a second before pressing the back of her hand to your forehead.
“Please don’t tell me you’ve caught whatever Tomasina had last week,” she said before pulling back from you and offering you a bottle of water.
“I - I don’t know, maybe it was just something I ate,” you answered weakly.
Val’s gaze shifted from you to the toilet. “It doesn’t look like you ate all that much.”
You weren’t sure why, but her concern just made you feel worse. It didn’t feel like you deserved concern or compassion after what you’d done.
“I’m sorry,” you said, shame filling your voice.
“What are you sorry for?”
“Walking out on a customer,” you answered before forcing yourself to take a small drink and instantly regretting it when your stomach started to turn again.
“Don’t worry about it, it’s been taken care of.”
You didn’t know what that meant, and you didn’t dare ask. You were just glad that she wasn’t angry with you - that had to mean that Billy hadn’t told her anything.
“Is he... still here?”
“No, he left - though he did ask me to tell you that he hopes you feel better soon.”
Silence fell as you tried to process it.
Of course he hadn’t said anything to Val - he was probably too embarrassed, too humiliated to tell anyone. No, he was probably saving his ire for the next time he saw you, tomorrow morning at Anvil.
Your head turned back to the toilet bowl at the thought, but you managed to keep yourself from throwing up again with some deep, calming breaths.
“I’m going to call you a taxi to take you home, but you’re gonna need to take a few days to get over whatever this is before you come back, okay? I can’t have anyone else catching it and needing to call out sick. I’m not running a plague ship,” Val said, offering you her hand.
At any other time you might have objected, knowing just how much you needed the money, but you stayed silent. Staying away was for the best, it’d give you some time to deal with what had happened and time to look for a new day job.
Your legs shook and protested as you got to your feet, grabbing some paper to wipe your mouth before flushing the toilet.
Getting changed back into your clothes and leaving The Red Ribbon was something of a blur; Rocky insisted on escorting you in the elevator and seeing you to the back of a waiting taxi, all the while telling you to call him if you needed anything.
It wasn’t long before you were staggering awkwardly up the steps to your apartment, feeling ready to drop at any second. It was a miracle that you managed to stay on your feet long enough to reach the mattress on the floor that served as your bed.
You dropped, silently telling yourself that you’d shower and change into your pyjamas after you’d rested your eyes for a few minutes. But once you were down, you found that you couldn’t bring yourself to move. It all just seemed pointless.
And then the tears started.
It got so bad that you weren’t even sure why you were crying; because you were mortified by what had happened? Because you were definitely going to lose your job at Anvil? Because he was going to yell the next time he saw you? Or because you’d let yourself feel something and he’d never trust you or let you near him again?
The ache in your chest only got worse as you sobbed through awkward, gasped breaths, until you started to hyperventilate.
At some point, late in the night, you fell asleep.
When your alarm woke you, you felt worse than ever, like your head was stuffed full of cotton wool. You were shivering and uncomfortable, your jeans biting into your waist and the underwire from your bra stabbing you. But it was nothing compared to the pain in your chest, in your heart.
In the cold light of day, you felt worse than ever; for what you’d done and how you’d allowed yourself to feel. It had been careless, stupid, selfish.
Your second alarm started to sound but, for the longest time, you couldn’t even force yourself to move to start your day. And, when you did finally manage to lift yourself off the bed, it was only to reach for your bag and pull out your phone.
You hadn’t bothered to turn it back on since taking it out of your locker last night but, the moment you did, you were inundated with a barrage of missed calls and messages, all from the same contact; Mr Russo.
Answer your phone.
Please.
I just want to know what’s going on.
Please, I just want to talk.
I just want to understand.
Pick up your fucking phone.
There were voicemails too, six of them, but after hearing the first you didn’t have the courage to listen to the rest.
‘Look, can you please just answer your phone? I just want to talk... I - I want to know what the fuck is going on. Why are you doing this? Why did you do any of this? I don’t get it. Just - fuck - please just tell me what this is?’
You couldn’t tell from his tone exactly how he was feeling, but you’d never heard Billy Russo use the word please that many times before. You stopped listening just as the next voicemail started to play, only hearing the rasped word Bunny before ending the call.
All you could think about was that, in forty minutes time, you would be expected at your desk, and - you couldn’t. You couldn’t even think about what would happen if you turned up at Anvil; what Billy would say, what he’d do. There was no way you could face him, even just to hand in your resignation.
Opening your emails, you did the only thing you could;
I quit. Effective immediately.
Addressing it to him and quickly hitting send. You turned your phone off the moment you got confirmation that the email had been sent and threw it across the room, so you couldn’t be tempted to torment yourself with the other voicemails he’d left you.
Then, you practically crawled to the bathroom, feeling sick again, but your stomach was empty and all you ended up doing was sitting on the cold wood floor until you found the strength to get up, brush your teeth and change into comfier clothes.
You knew that you should do something, that you should try to put the pieces of your life back together as quickly as possible, but all you wanted to do was wallow. The cold didn’t help, your tiny apartment feeling more like an ice box than a home. You ended up on the threadbare sofa, wrapped in a blanket, staring blankly at the window as the morning sky grew darker and darker.
It was going to rain - not that it mattered, not that you had anywhere to be. It was all you could bring yourself to think about; the bad weather and the cold. Any time your mind started to drift towards anything else, you felt your chest start tightening and tears welling in your eyes.
You didn’t think twice when the intercom sounded; your neighbours were constantly ordering packages and food, or inviting friends around, but never seemed to be ready or willing to buzz people into the building. More often than not, delivery guys hit all sixteen buttons and hoped to get lucky.
You pushed the button, took a breath and; “hello?”
There was silence and, for a wonderful moment, you dared to hope that whoever it was had already been buzzed into the building.
But then you heard him.
“It’s me.”
Your heart threatened to stop. Of course he knew where you lived, it was on your file at Anvil - you should have thought it a small mercy that he’d left it until the morning to show up, but you were too consumed by panic to see any of it as merciful.
“Let me in. I just want to talk,” he said, tone bordering on demanding, but it felt like he was holding back.
“I quit.” You said. It was the first and only thing to come to mind, and it seemed easier than trying to explain why you didn’t want to let him in.
“I know you did,” he answered, “but I don’t accept your resignation.”
“What?” You asked, your voice coming out so small and quiet that you didn’t even know if he’d heard you.
“Just... let me in,” then after a beat, “please.”
“No. I can’t,” you said, trying not to give away that you were close to tears. “I’m sorry. I can’t. I don’t want to see you, I -”
“Bunny...”
“Please, I’m sorry, just... just leave me alone.”
You clamped a hand over your mouth, desperate to suppress the sob that managed to claw its way from you.
“I’m not going anywhere,” he said decidedly. “I’ll stay out here as long as it takes.”
You released the intercom button and stepped away from the door, suddenly feeling like a prisoner in your own home. How long would he wait, you idly wondered, how long before he realised that he wasn’t going to get what he wanted?
(But, Billy Russo always got what he wanted. Didn’t he?)
The door buzzed again but, this time, you ignored it. You ignored it for five minutes until, finally, it stopped and you dared to relax for a fraction of a moment before going straight back to worrying about whether he was still out there or not.
Rain started to batter your windows and you felt a cold draught leaking in through the crack in one of the frames and - surely he wasn’t going to wait outside in the wind and rain?
You made yourself a hot drink, eyeing the clock as the minutes ticked by; fifteen minutes, thirty minutes, an hour. And the rain continued to pour and the wind kept howling. He had to have given up, gone back to his office, back to all of the problems that you couldn’t help him fix.
It was over. Done.
And, still, your heart ached with a loss that it didn’t understand. He’d never been yours, and you’d never been his.
A sharp thump on the door had you almost throwing scalding coffee over yourself, and a second had your heart missing a beat. Then came two more knocks, rattling the whole door in the frame. Slowly, cautiously, you crept towards the door and peeked through the peephole.
He was soaked to the bone, his usually perfect hair limply stuck to his forehead, causing rivulets of water to run down his face.
Billy knocked again and you almost jumped out of your skin, stepping back from the door as if you thought he was about to knock the damned thing from its hinges.
He must have heard your gasp, because he spoke seconds later.
“I just want to talk.”
There was an edge to his tone, something you were more than familiar with. He was frustrated, annoyed. Which - of course he was. You’d lied to him, you’d let things go too far. You’d pretended to be someone he could like, someone he could maybe even grow to care about, someone unlike you, the disappointing and useless PA.
“Please, just go away,” you muttered quietly,
When you got no response, you glanced through the peephole again, hoping to find him gone, instead he was leaning against your door, his head hanging forward.
“I’m not going away,” he finally said. “You’ll have to face me eventually.”
You knew that he was right, and the fact that he’d just spent an hour standing outside in a storm was testament to his stubbornness.
Leaning, you pressed your forehead against the door and closed your eyes, and took a deep breath.
“I’m sorry,” you said. “For all of it. I never meant for things to get so out of hand.”
“Please open the door,” he said and you could have sworn you heard a tremor in his voice, a shiver.
(He was soaked through, of course he was shivering.)
You knew what you had to do, after all, the whole situation was your fault. As much as you hated it and as scared as you were of him getting angry, he was owed an explanation. You took a few more deep breaths, struggling to find Bunny’s confidence inside of you as your trembling fingers reached for the deadbolt, then the chain and, finally, the lock.
You pulled the door open slowly, looking anywhere but at Billy as he stepped into your apartment.
Once he was inside, you retreated halfway across the living room, casting him an uncomfortable look that caused him to wince. His coat was dripping all over the floor, but it seemed to be the least of his concerns, his full attention fixed on you.
“I’m sorry,” you said again, trying to figure out how to even explain what had happened.
“Did you know it was me from the start?” He asked. “Was it all just some trick? Some sick joke?”
Your stomach knotted, hating that he could think you’d be that malicious even for a second. But you didn’t blame him for jumping to that conclusion, not after everything he’d told you last night about his business partner betraying his trust.
“N-no, it wasn’t anything like that. I didn’t realise who you were until I saw you at the Rockefeller Center, at the ice rink...” your eyes dropped to his feet, to the wet growing patch in the carpet. “Why did you go looking for me?”
It was his turn to hesitate and struggle for an answer.
“I wanted to find you, I wanted -”
“I told you it couldn’t last,” you interrupted, finally managing to find a shred of Bunny’s confidence. “I asked you not to ruin it.”
“You said it wouldn’t last because I’d get bored and move on. I wouldn’t have.”
That... that wasn’t what you were expecting him to say.
“If you knew who I was last night, why didn’t you say something?” He continued. “Why let it go so far? What did you have to gain from not telling me?”
“I - I don’t know!” Your voice broke and you tried to blink back the tears that threatened to fall. “I was going to tell you but then you showed up and you were so upset and I just wanted to make you feel better -”
“Make me feel better by letting me think I was about to fuck someone else?”
There it was. Someone else. Not you. Because Billy Russo would never choose someone like you.
“Right, because that’s all it really comes down to, isn’t it? You’d be perfectly happy right now if you hadn’t found out. You’d be happy if you could imagine it was literally anyone but me, right?” You said, anger and resentment slipping into your tone. “Well you weren’t the only one who was disappointed. Have you got any idea what it felt like to find out that the guy who was so sweet and kind to me when he couldn’t see my face, was actually the asshole who goes out of his way to make me feel like shit at every opportunity?”
Billy was silent, taken aback by your outburst.
“I never...” he tried, but seemed at a loss for words.
“Every day, for months, you’ve yelled at me for fucking up - and I wouldn’t even fuck up so much in the first place if you didn’t treat me like shit, if you didn’t constantly make me feel like fucking up is all I’m capable of,” you continued, finally finding that spark of Bunny inside you and grasping it tight with both hands. “You wanted to know why I changed my limits? You. You’re why. You’ve constantly made me feel like you were going to fire me and you have no idea how much I needed the money I was making from Anvil.”
You saw him look around, finally getting a good look at your apartment, at the way you lived, and you could tell he had questions. The money you made at Anvil alone was more than enough to see you living somewhere nicer, and the money from The Red Ribbon should have had you living more than comfortably.
“I don’t know why I didn’t tell you. I don’t know why I didn’t stop you last night -” you shook your head, “- maybe for a minute I dared to let myself believe that you really were nice and sweet, and that you could want someone like me...”
You finally fell silent, your confidence slipping away again.
This time the silence lingered for thirty long seconds, and when you managed to bring yourself to look at him again, you found his face was an unreadable mask.
“You’re right,” he said.
Infuriatingly, he didn’t tell you which part you were right about straight away. You remained quiet, forcing him to be the one to fill the silence.
“You’re right,” he said again, a tremor in his voice as he shivered. “I haven’t treated you well, and I’m sorry. I’ve been under so much pressure the last few months that I - I don’t think I really even realised I was doing it. But that’s no excuse, I should never have taken my problems out on you.”
He let silence fill the space between you again, and when you looked at him, you could see the genuine struggle on his face.
“I never wanted to be like that with anyone,” he confessed as he continued. “That was why I kept coming back to you - why I wanted to find you - because when I was with you and I could pretend that none of my problems existed, I was happy.”
The wind outside grew stronger, howling and shaking the windows as thunder sounded in the distance.
“I know it wasn’t real,” resignation filled his tone, “but I - I wanted it to be. I wanted to be that version of me without the mask... with you...”
You sniffled awkwardly, still barely holding the tears at bay.
“But it wasn’t me that you wanted. It was Bunny,” you said, your voice becoming little more than a low mutter.
“I think that some part of you is Bunny,” said Billy, almost managing to force a smile. “Just like some part of me is the guy who was nice to you.”
Oh, how you longed to believe him.
“I think we could be those people... if we gave each other a chance...”
Your heart seemed to come to a complete stop in your chest and the room became so quiet and still that you could hear every shivering breath that he took.
“What?” You asked in barely little more than a whisper.
“I want to know what we could be like out in the real world, with no masks to hide behind.”
It was an uncomfortable confession and, if you didn’t know him better, you might have thought that he was scared of voicing it. But, surely not. Right? Surely he didn’t mean what you thought he meant.
“I thought...” you trailed off for a few seconds in confusion. “I thought you were angry at me.”
Wasn’t that why he was there, because he thought you’d been playing some cruel joke, because he thought you’d tried to trick him?
“I was... to begin with,” he said, shrugging. “After you ran out, when you wouldn’t answer my calls, but this morning, I was at the office, waiting for you to come in... I was thinking about firing you, I had your personnel file in my hand...”
He took another awkward pause and just... stared at you, confused, like you were some complex puzzle that he couldn’t understand.
“And, I realised that, if I fired you, I’d never see you again. That I’d lose you and Bunny forever, and I couldn’t go through with it. When I got your email and I knew I needed to see you, I knew I needed to do something. I needed to get you back.”
You shook your head at the sheer insanity of it all. Billy dared to take a step forward when he saw the gesture, an almost pleading expression on his face.
“This isn’t how I should’ve gotten to know you - I know I’m doing everything backwards here, but all I’m asking for is one chance.”
He was trying. He was trying far more than you ever expect him to. More than that, it felt like he was fighting for you and... you hadn’t had anyone fight for you in a really long time. But, still -
“It’s not me you want,” you said, deflating a little at the thought, hating that you couldn’t be what he wanted you to be. “I’m not like Bunny.”
Billy laughed.
For some reason that was so beyond your comprehension, he actually laughed.
“You realise you just called me an asshole, right? You told me exactly how you felt, and you didn’t back down. You made me stand outside in the freezing rain for over an hour - I think you’re more like Bunny than you realise,” he said, taking another step. “But you don’t have to be. I don’t want to know some pretend version of you. I want to get to know the real you. That’s why I went to the ice rink.” He hesitated, swallowing awkwardly. “And I want you to know the real me.”
“Billy,” you said, and it felt strange to call him that - Billy and not Mr Russo. “What are you even suggesting?”
“I - I don’t know. Come back to work at Anvil - or don’t. Let me take you out for dinner. Or let me see you again at the club. We can put the masks back on, you can pretend that you don’t know it’s me, that -”
“We can’t do that.”
You couldn’t, could you? You hadn’t even been able to pretend that it wasn’t him last night when you’d almost let him fuck you. But the other things?
“Why not?” He asked.
The million dollar question.
“Because you’re... you, and I’m just... me.”
Million dollar question meet bargain bin answer. You knew how stupid it sounded the moment it left your lips but, really, was it any more ridiculous than the rest of the conversation?
“What’s that supposed to mean?” Billy asked, finally taking a moment to brush his wet hair back, away from his forehead.
“I’m not good at... this. I’m not good with people,” you quickly continued when you noticed he was about to interrupt. “With Bunny it’s different. I have a safety net. I have a two hundred and fifty pound security guard to keep me safe and a manager who vets every single person she lets through the door, out in the real world I’m...”
You trailed off into a telling silence, letting your gaze drop to the floor.
“Who hurt you?” He asked, barely containing the spike of anger in his voice.
The last thing you wanted to do was tell him some sob story and have him feel sorry for you but, after all the lies, it felt like you at least owed him some honesty.
“My ex - not physically, and he wasn’t really bad to me but,” you let out a heavy sigh and found his dark eyes staring intently at you, “he made me cosign on a couple of loans and then he walked out...”
“What?” He didn’t even try to hide the anger.
“That’s why I need two jobs - and I can still barely keep my head above water.” You said, forcing another shrug. “I’m a mess. My whole life is a mess, and the last guy I trusted -”
“I’d never hurt you like that.”
And, some part of you was more than willing to believe him. In the time it took you to almost formulate a response, Billy had closed the distance between you, coming to stand in front of you.
“You don’t even like me,” you said softly.
Billy reached for you slowly, giving you ample chance to pull away before gently cupping your cheek with his cold hand.
“Yesterday, you brought me coffee and you asked if things were alright,” he said simply. “I’d been an asshole to you, and you still cared enough to ask. As Bunny, you asked me if I was sleeping enough and you got me to spend my birthday with my friends, and for the first time in years, I actually enjoyed my birthday. You didn’t have to do any of that, but you did because you’re a good person.”
You stared at him, completely lost for words, trying to understand how the bar was so low for him that you doing the bare minimum had had such an impact on him. But, then, you remembered the little things he’d said, that he’d given away; people only wanting him for his money, his mother abandoning him, one of the few people he’d ever trusted betraying him.
You’d given him something so simple, something so few people had bothered to give.
“Maybe better than I deserve,” he continued, his thumb tenderly brushing your cheek, “but, if you’ll let me, I want to try to be worthy of someone like you because I do like you.”
“How?” You dared to ask, some part of you wanting to believe that what he was saying was real.
“We could go back to the start, take things slowly, get to really know each other,” he offered, fiercely clinging to the shred of hope that you’d offered him. “Anything you want. I just want a chance to see if this could be something.”
“No,” you said. “I don’t want to go back to the start.”
The corners of his lips dropped and he looked at you as if you’d just driven a knife into his chest, his face paling as he felt the pain caused by your refusal so acutely. His hand dropped from your cheek. You’d never seen him look so defeated.
It was unbearable.
You moved suddenly and without hesitation, surging forwards to tenderly press your lips to his in a kiss that was reminiscent of your first night together at The Red Ribbon. Billy tensed in confusion but quickly pressed his hand to your cheek again.
He was frowning when you pulled back, obviously not understanding what you were clumsily trying to tell him.
“Don’t want to go back to the start,” you muttered, trying to explain yourself. “I want to start here, right now.”
Your own hand moved, pressing to his chest over the damp fabric of his shirt, feeling the way his heart was pounding. For you. His heart was racing, hammering against his ribs, and it was all for you.
Billy let out a sigh, an awkward and relieved sound that sent a shiver down your spine. You lost yourself in his eyes as he stepped closer, closing the last little bit of space between you and wrapped an arm around you.
Then his lips were on yours again, his tongue running along the seam of your mouth. The kiss quickly became more passionate, more eager, until you felt the damp from his coat sleeve starting to soak through the back of your sweater.
You squirmed, smiling against his lips as you clumsily pushed his coat off his shoulders.
“You’re soaking wet,” you murmured against his lips.
“That’s my line,” he answered back, letting his coat fall to the floor.
You couldn’t help the laughter that bubbled out of you, pressing your face to his chest to hide your embarrassment.
“I knew you were trouble the moment I laid eyes on you,” you said between gasps of laughter.
His arm tightened around you, like he couldn’t even fathom ever letting you go again. He pressed a kiss to the top of your head and you all but melted against him. But it wasn’t long before you realised you needed to do something about his wet shirt too. So, slowly, almost cautiously, you started to unbutton it.
You were almost methodical in the way that you opened his shirt and ran your fingers over the exposed expanse of his chest. Billy stood silently, watching you as mapped every inch of cold skin with your eyes and fingertips, stopping and paying particular attention to each scar you found. You had to remind yourself that he had been a Marine, and that every mark was something that he had survived.
When he shrugged off the wet shirt, your fingers traced a silvery scar on his shoulder - it looked older than the others. Much older, something from his childhood. Your eyes caught Billy’s for a moment, and he simply shook his head.
“It’s okay,” he said as if reading your mind. “I’m okay now.”
Maybe one day he’d tell you about the scar, and all the others but, at that moment, it wasn’t important. The past wasn’t important, just the here and now.
Still, you leaned closer and pressed your lips to the scar, and his arm wrapped around you again. You were content to pepper light kisses along his shoulder and up his neck until you felt him shiver against you.
“Come on,” you said softly, running your fingers down his arm and taking his hand in yours, “let’s get you warmed up.”
“I like the sound of that.”
Billy followed as you led, pulling him towards your bedroom but, about halfway, you ended up pressed against him again, kissing him, unable to stop yourself. You found your back pressed to the wall right beside the bedroom door, his hands pulling off your sweater.
“Now we’re even,” he said, smiling against your lips.
Playfully, you shook your head and quickly started to undo his belt and pants, forcing him to awkwardly kick them off, along with his shoes. Then you were moving again, pulling him into the room and towards bed.
He caught the flicker of embarrassment on your face at the mattress on the floor, at the mostly empty room, at the whole sorry state of your life, and he quickly kissed you again, silencing every terrible thought in your head.
“If you think I care about anything other than getting you naked right now, you’re sorely mistaken,” he muttered, before delivering a playful nip to your bottom lip.
“Oh, you want me naked, do you?” You answered back.
“I do.”
“And, I suppose you’re the sort of man who always has to get what he wants, aren’t you?”
“You’re learning quickly, Bunny.”
He didn’t give you the chance to answer back and continue your little game, his lips covered yours again and his fingers started to push your loose fitting sweatpants down your legs. You stepped out of them as he continued to walk you backwards, towards the mattress that served as your bed until you felt it at your heels.
The next thing you knew, you were on your back beneath Billy, his body pressing you down into the mattress, your legs tangled with his.
Fingertips raked down his back, following the ridges of his spine as you pulled him closer, losing yourself under the weight of him and the want that had been building in you over the last week and a half, You wanted to suffocate on his lips while you were crushed beneath him, you wanted and wanted and wanted.
When he pulled from the kiss, gasping for breath, your lips chased his, not wanting even a second of reprieve from him. And, the way he looked down at you, his dark eyes turning incredibly soft, was almost enough to make your heart stop beating.
“You’re perfect,” he said softly, shaking his head, confused. “How have you been in front of me all of this time but I’ve only just noticed?”
“I seem to remember you noticing my ass pretty quickly.”
Billy laughed and pressed a kiss to the tip of your nose, a tender gesture that made you melt inside.
“I’ve got a confession to make,” he said. “That grey skirt you wear for work sometimes...”
“Mr Russo!” You gasped, feigning indignation. “Are you saying you’ve been checking out my ass at work?”
It shouldn’t have been the huge confidence boost that it was but, to think he’d noticed you that way before seeing you in the revealing bodysuit at The Red Ribbon did make you feel better about yourself.
“Well, I’d be lying if I said I don’t appreciate the days you wear your charcoal suit...” you added after a beat.
“You mean you’ve been checking out your asshole boss?”
Your fingers tangled in his hair, pulling his lips to yours. “He might be an asshole, but he’s a handsome asshole.”
You swallowed his laughter with your lips, kissing him as you squirmed beneath him, pulling your leg from between his so his hips were nestled between your thighs. Billy took the opportunity to shift closer to you, pressing down and - fuck, you swore into the kiss at the feeling of his hard cock against you.
He took advantage of your moment of shock and started trailing kisses down your neck, grazing his teeth over your collarbone and sinking lower still. You arched your back as he reached behind you, letting him relieve you of your bra.
The sound he made, the low rumbling in the back of his throat at the sight of your exposed breasts should have been criminal. It caused a heat to lick through your body, shooting down your spine to your core and had you clenching around nothing.
Your head fell back on the pillow as he took his time acquainting himself with your tits, his cold hands quickly warming as he alternated between groping and kissing, paying particular attention to the stiff peaks of your nipples.
“Billy, please...”
The words slipped out as a quiet plea and, the moment they left your lips, you all but forgot about them, as if you’d never even spoken them to begin with. You weren’t used to this, you weren’t used to feeling worshipped and wanted. You weren’t even sure what you were asking Billy for but the moment his lips started to trail down towards your stomach, you felt like all of your prayers were about to be answered.
You bit your lip as you looked down and caught his dark eyes staring up at you just as his tongue slipped from his lips and traced a circle around your navel. A soft gasp escaped at the warmth of his tongue against your skin, already starting to imagine what you hoped was going to come next.
His gaze held yours and you didn’t look away - you were certain you couldn’t have, even if you’d wanted to. As his fingers hook on your panties, you lifted your hips, feeling your cheeks start to warm as you were completely bared to him. Billy slipped lower down the mattress, his hands urged your thighs apart so he could drink in the sight of you.
A desperate and needy sound managed to slip past your lips as his fingertip trailed through your folds and the wetness that betrayed your arousal.
“You’ve got no idea how many times I’ve imagined this, Bunny,” he said, sounding as breathless as you felt, “you spread out beneath me, moaning for me while I devour this sweet pussy.”
Your cheeks grew hotter still, but any shy embarrassment you might have felt at his words was snuffed out by your own desperate need for him. Without realising you were even doing it, you shifted your hips, pressing against his finger, desperate for more.
“Billy, please...” you said again.
A shiver ran down your spine at the smirk that appeared on his lips at your quiet plea. For a moment he looked torn, like he was considering teasing you, making you really beg for him (and some part of you knew that you would), but it quickly became clear that he didn’t want to deny himself.
Parting your folds with his fingers, he bowed his head and -
“Fuck!” You moaned.
The heat of his tongue against your sensitive flesh was simultaneously too much and not nearly enough. His hand gripped your thigh tighter, holding you down as he continued his assault on your senses. He started with long, slow laps of his tongue, teasing from your entrance up to your clit before starting to focus his attention on the swollen bundle of nerves.
Your thighs trembled and tensed as he alternated between slow circles and rapid flicks, easily starting to push you towards orgasm.
Billy groaned against you and you felt the vibrations of it through his tongue. He muttered something - no doubt something utterly filthy - but you couldn’t hear it over the needy noises he was pulling from you, the moans and the gasped pleas, begging him not to stop.
You came quickly. Easily. You started to moan and writhe beneath him, not caring that he’d managed to push you over the edge so easily. But your orgasm wasn’t enough to stop Billy or even slow him down. His tongue sank lower, lapping at your entrance as it clenched and spasmed, lapping up your arousal until you felt like nothing more than a sloppy, desperate mess beneath him.
And, once that orgasm had started to subside, he started to push you towards another.
Two fingers easily slipped between your walls and his tongue returned to your clit, causing you to cry out his name so loudly that you were sure you felt his lips pull into a smile against you.
Reaching down, you tangled your fingers in his damp hair, half wanting to push him away so you could have a moment to regain his sanity, and half wanting to pull him closer and let him completely devour you.
His fingers set a quick rhythm, betraying his impatience. Your eyes caught his and you could see his need, his want. And you found yourself wanting exactly what he did. You wanted him to fuck you.
You kept your eyes fixed on his, biting down hard on your lip as his teeth grazed over your clit. Then he pulled the throbbing nub between his lips and you were sure that you saw stars as you started to come again.
“Holy shit,” you gasped, breathless beneath him as he started to move back up your body.
“That was everything I imagined and so much more,” Billy said, wiping his wet lips on the back of his hand before capturing your lips in a kiss.
One of you let out a groan - though, honestly, you weren’t sure which - and the kiss quickly took on a life of its own. Hungry, needy, passionate, both of you taking and giving in equal measure, building anticipation for what was about to happen.
Reaching down, you pushed his boxers from his hips, getting them as far as you could before using your feet to push them the rest of the way.
“That’s a neat trick.” He smiled against your lips.
“I’m a woman of many talents,” you retorted.
“I bet you are.”
Any thought of responding was quickly ended by the press of his bare cock between your thighs, the tip teasingly nudging its way between your folds.
Your fingers pressed into his back and your eyes fixed on his again, wanting him to know that there was no doubt in your mind. You wanted him.
Lifting your head, you kissed him, gasping softly against his lips as you felt his cock notch into you, slowly pushing between your still-sensitive walls until he was buried to the hilt. Your head dropped back onto the pillow, feeling more than a little overwhelmed by all of the thoughts and feelings currently racing around inside of you.
Billy looked down at you, seeming equally lost in the moment, stock-still as if he was holding himself back.
“It’s okay,” you said softly, “I’m okay.”
“Not you I’m worried about,” he answered with an awkward smile. “You feel so fucking good.”
There was an endearing flash of embarrassment on his face and you couldn’t stop yourself from grinning up at him, loving that you were able to have such an affect on him
“Hmm, if you keep making comments like that about my body, I’m gonna have to report you to Anvil HR, Mr Russo.”
Billy let out an awkward groan and you felt his cock twitch inside you.
“Don’t,” he warned, barely biting back a laugh. “Don’t call me that while I’m inside you, Bunny, or this is gonna be over before it starts.”
“Call you what?” You asked teasingly. “Mr Russo.”
“Bunny...” he all but growled against your lips as he kissed you again.
Finally, he started to draw his hips back and any part of you that wanted to continue to joke and tease quickly fell silent. He set a slow, steady rhythm, letting you feel every inch of his cock as it slid in and out of your heat.
And it was perfect. You’d never experienced anything so perfect before.
Hitching your thigh on his hip, you let out a long moan, giving yourself over to him completely.
Eventually he started to pick up the pace, easily pulling more eager sounds from you. Again and again, his lips crashed into yours, each kiss more desperate than the last, like he was trying to prove a point to you.
His arm hooked beneath your knee, pushing your leg up higher, allowing him to sink deeper inside you, and you knew that you were lost. You knew that no man would ever make you feel that good again.
“Billy,” you moaned as he nipped your lower lip again. “... feels so good...”
You felt yourself clench around him, your thighs starting to tremble again as another orgasm threatened to wash over you.
“Let go,” Billy muttered, “come for me, Bunny.”
And you did. You cried out for him as you shattered, your back arching off the mattress, your whole body feeling like it was burning with pleasure from the inside out. It was the most intense orgasm you’d ever experienced and, as you moaned and writhed beneath him, you felt Billy let go too.
He gave a grunt as he started to come undone, his cock twitching as your walls clenched around him, the both of you getting lost in ecstasy together.
Billy kissed you again, just as eagerly as every time before, kissing you like he was still trying to prove his worth to you when he’d already more than won you over, as the pleasure slowly started to ebb.
Minutes passed and the pair of you stilled, holding each other tight, neither wanting to let go for the longest time.
When Billy finally moved away, it was only to lay beside you, wrapping his arms around you and pulling you close. Minutes passed, neither of you speaking, both seeming to just enjoy the close and tender moment.
“What happens now?” You finally dared to ask.
You got no answer and soon realised that he’d fallen asleep snuggled up beside you.
You didn’t have the heart to wake him, knowing that he needed the rest.
It could wait.
Everything could wait.
The only thing that mattered was the moment, everything else could be figured out later.
For a few sweet minutes, you watched him sleep, gently running your fingers through his hair. But, exhausted by the drama of the last few days, you shifted closer and closed your eyes, and soon fell asleep in his arms.
A/N : I mean, it's not technically a cliffhanger, it's more of an open sort of ending??😂 I know I say this every time I finish something, but maybe one day I'll come back to this. But, I don't know, I feel like with this ending everyone can have their own idea of how things play out. I enjoyed this though and I enjoyed the challenge of trying to write a more contained story. idk if anyone has noticed this about me but everything I write tends to end up really long, so it was nice to play around with a more straight forward plot? Anyway. I hope everyone enjoys this ending and the fact that Billy is finally getting some sleep.
If you've not voted for what I'm going to write next the poll is here!!! I have no idea what's going on or what's winning and it's a little terrifying. (71 people have voted so far and that's completely mindblowing, so thanks for that!)
In other news, next week I will be posting a cute little one-shot follow-up to Catch Me if You Can. I'm not going to tag everyone who was on the original tag list because it feels awkward and weird to tag people on something I finished almost a year ago. But I'll tag the people who've asked to be tagged on all the Billy stuff.
Anyway hope you all have a great week, and thank you so much for all the love and support you've shown this story!
