VanUp Custom Mercedes Sprinter Overland Build on VRForged Wheels
The Mercedes Sprinter van was originally designed to allow contractors and service providers to haul equipment to and from different job sites. This van was extremely popular in Europe because of its size and powerful diesel engine. Since they are primarily sold as empty shells inside, the Sprinter soon became the go to platform for travelers, transportation companies, RVs, and motocross racers wanting to custom outfit their own. When COVID was at its peak, the desire to hit the road and work from wherever was the new dream. So the RV craze went, well, crazy! Taking a combination of the Overland and RV market, saw the explosive growth of the Mercedes Sprinter Overland builds. These builds allowed people to travel to all the great places on and off-road that traditional RVs just couldn’t go to. Equipped with beds, bathrooms, and kitchens, the exterior look and function was equally important. With ladders, awnings, bike racks, and big lights from companies like Baja Designs, Rigid, and others, the last component to make the Van official are the wheels.
VR Forged introduced their 1 piece forged monoblock wheels to the Sprinter Van community in late 2021. Combining the style of our car and truck wheels with a 6 spoke design and beefy ring element, the wheels were built specifically for the Sprinter use. Each VR Forged forging is constructed using a 10,000 ton press to make a strong and pure aluminum monoblock. Wheels are machined to extensive tolerances and then go through a series of tests including impact testing, salt spray, and fatigue testing as see on our Manufacturing Page Here. These particular wheels were built in a 17×7.5 +50mm offset weighing only 23.8lbs per wheel. But the important engineering element of these wheels is its load rating of 2500lbs per wheel to handle the weight and offroad abuse.
The guys at VanUp choose to use the VR Forged wheels because of their design, quality, and fitment. Their vans feature unique custom King Shock setups that are perfect for overland use but require a wheel that has the right clearance and load rating. Along with a line of their own products, VanUp builds these vans at 2 locations with 1 here locally in Mesa, Arizona and the other in Davis, CA. If you are looking for a beast of a Mercedes Sprinter Van, the VanUp guys are your go to source!

Wal-mart, bikes, appearances, and poverty
I posted this in July 2021:
Text from the image:
Wal-Mart has removed all their bike racks. I asked some employees why. I was told the franchise wants a "cleaner" and "less cluttered" look.
This is, of course, bullshit. The random crap they stack outside their store every day isn't a "clean look," and neither are the shopping carts scattered around or packed in rows. The assortment of vendors getting sidewalk or lot space don't make things "cleaner" looking. The old people in Flag-adorned RVs, and the truckers taking breaks in the parking lot don't make things look "less cluttered."
Wal-Mart doesn't want the *people* who ride bikes to be hanging around. Not hobbyists like me, the actual everyday cyclists who go to work on whatever bike they can afford. Many of them are probably employees, actually. Wal-Mart, one of the world's great poverty creators, is desperate to distance itself from the visible signs of poverty.

An OPEN LETTER to … The Valley’s 'Wish List' Makers …
To the Creative - Sometimes a Little Wacky - Folks with Great Development Ideas: “Love. Life. Here.” There were bike racks included in the downtown Wheeling streetscape project, and they’ve been fabricated to offer a suggestion to anyone seeing them in place. “Love. Life. Here.” An honest question: How are we doing with that these days? Ya know, the whole loving life in Wheeling thing? Understand, please, the question is not rooted in negativity. Sure, there are very serious issues in our area, but we’re often reminded of our amenities – and how lucky we are to have them – and that’s because we’re blessed to have our parks, infrastructure, history, the lakes, creeks, and the Ohio River, our schools and educators, and everything else that makes the Wheeling area a special place. The question has been asked because it’s about time we begin creating – in a so-called realistic frame of mind– a Wish List of “new cool stuff.” Now, keep in mind, by order of the State of West Virginia, each municipality is mandated (by connected funding) to develop a “Comprehensive Plan” that includes goals based on need and real potential. So, not that kind of proper plan. No, what we need is a collection of out-of-the-box ideas some would call “silly,” “ridiculous,” and “dumb.” As long as no one is correct when insisting the idea is “impossible,” then every crazy notion should be considered when it comes to recruiting economic investment into our little stitch along Main Stream America. Like … could a theme park in this area actually work? What about the hotel with a water park on the inside idea? Another fat-daddy campground and RV park? Any ideas connected to the new aviation partnership between Marshall University and West Liberty University? An incubator center for new businesses? A spin-off of the new hotel in downtown Wheeling? Something to revive the skatepark or add to Heritage Port or make the new Wheeling Island park something, ya know, more. No idea is a bad idea. Think about it … we were reminded just a week ago that “No Way” can turn into “Yes Sir” while celebrating the 20th anniversary of The Highlands and the Bass Pro/Cabela’s, the Guntry Club’s high-end shooting range will open before the end of the year, and there are several other examples of similar success. So, what’s next? Sincerely, Dreams R Us Read the full article

Score Big with Style: The Ultimate Guide to Sporting Events Transportation
Sports events are not merely competitions; they are experiences that bring people together, fostering camaraderie and passion. Navigating the logistics of attending a sporting event, whether it's a major league game or a championship match, requires careful planning, especially when it comes to transportation. This comprehensive guide explores various transportation options, ensuring that fans can score big with style when attending their favorite sporting events.
1. Ride in Comfort: Luxury Limousines and Chauffeur Services
For those who prioritize comfort and style, luxury limousines and chauffeur services are a winning choice. Imagine arriving at the stadium in a sleek stretch limousine, making a statement even before the game begins. These services offer a seamless and opulent experience, allowing fans to enjoy the journey as much as the event itself.
Professional chauffeurs, well-versed in navigating traffic and event logistics, ensure a stress-free ride. The plush interiors of luxury vehicles provide a comfortable space for pre-game excitement or post-game celebrations. It's a chance to elevate the entire sporting experience, turning transportation into an integral part of the event day festivities.
2. Group Excursions: Party Buses for Fan Squads
For fans traveling in groups, the party bus is the ultimate way to amplify the pre-game excitement. Decked out with vibrant interiors, entertainment systems, and even mini bars, party buses create an atmosphere of celebration en route to the sporting event. It's not just transportation; it's a mobile party that sets the tone for a memorable day.
These buses are ideal for tailgating, allowing fans to start the festivities early. With ample space for a large group, party buses promote camaraderie and team spirit among fans. The journey becomes a part of the overall experience, and the shared excitement builds a sense of community that enhances the sporting event adventure.
3. Game-Day Efficiency: Ride-Sharing and Car Services
For those who value efficiency and flexibility, ride-sharing and car services provide a practical solution. With the convenience of app-based bookings, fans can schedule rides to and from the sporting event with ease. This option is particularly beneficial for fans who prefer to have control over their schedule and don't want to commit to a specific transportation service in advance.
Ride-sharing also offers a cost-effective solution for solo travelers or small groups. It's a straightforward and reliable way to get to the game without the need for parking hassles or navigating public transportation. Fans can focus on the game rather than worrying about logistics.
4. Eco-Friendly Choices: Biking and Public Transportation
For environmentally conscious fans, biking and public transportation are sustainable options that align with a green lifestyle. Many stadiums and arenas offer bike racks, encouraging fans to pedal their way to the game. It not only reduces the carbon footprint but also adds a touch of adventure to the overall experience.
Public transportation, such as buses or trains, is another eco-friendly choice. It's a practical option for fans who want to avoid traffic and parking challenges. Additionally, public transportation allows fans to immerse themselves in the local culture, providing a unique perspective of the city hosting the sporting event.
5. Tailgating Extravaganza: RVs and Motorhomes
For sports enthusiasts who view the pre-game tailgate party as an integral part of the experience, RVs and motorhomes offer the perfect solution. These mobile homes provide a home-away-from-home atmosphere, complete with cooking facilities, entertainment systems, and comfortable seating areas.
RVs and motorhomes transform the parking lot into a tailgating haven. Fans can enjoy grilled delicacies, play games, and create lasting memories before the main event. It's a tailgating extravaganza on wheels, combining the comforts of home with the thrill of game day festivities.
Conclusion: Winning the Transportation Game
In conclusion, the ultimate guide to sporting events transportation offers a variety of options to suit every fan's preferences and priorities. Whether it's arriving in style with a luxury limousine, enjoying a pre-game party on a festive party bus, opting for efficient ride-sharing, embracing eco-friendly choices, or turning the tailgate into an extravaganza with an RV, transportation becomes an integral part of the overall sporting experience.
Fans can score big with style by choosing the mode of transportation that aligns with their desired level of comfort, adventure, and camaraderie. As the cheers echo through the stadium and the excitement builds, the right transportation choice sets the stage for a day filled with unforgettable moments. So, gear up, choose your winning transportation strategy, and get ready to score big with style at your next sporting event.

No need for an RV with these great camping cars
New Post has been published on https://eazycamping.net/no-need-for-an-rv-with-these-great-camping-cars/
No need for an RV with these great camping cars
Consider this the summer in limbo, and not just because we have to bend over backwards to make any plans at all. With summer plans scrambled due to the coronavirus pandemic and more Americans wary of airline travel and hotel stays, it’s time to restore that timeless American adventure and hit the road.
It won’t take an RV or a vacation rental to explore America’s national treasures while still maintaining distance from other Americans. Camping requires some gear—glamping requires an excess—but our list of camper-ready vehicles come from the factory ready for adventure.
2021 Chrysler Pacifica
2021 Chrysler Pacifica, 2020 Chicago Auto Show
2021 Chrysler Pacifica, 2020 Chicago Auto Show
2021 Chrysler Pacifica, 2020 Chicago Auto Show
The versatile family hauler can become a cabin on wheels if the weather becomes unbearable. Available now in all-wheel drive, the 2021 Pacifica comes with second- and third-row seats that fold into the floor (the hybrid model does not come with second-row Stow ‘N Go seats). Other vans have heavy, removable seats that become a pain in a pinch, such as during that surprise hail storm or when that shrill animal cry gets closer. And closer. With 140.5 cubic feet of space behind the front seats and room enough to fit four-by-eight sheets of plywood, the Pacifica could fit a full-sized inflatable mattress with just a little squeezing on the side. If that’s not enough space, it can tow up to 3,600 pounds (when a $995 towing package is equipped), good enough to tow everything from recreational toys to small travel trailers.
2020 Subaru Outback
2020 Subaru Outback
2020 Subaru Outback
2020 Subaru Outback
The poster child for the outdoorsman, the predecessor to the do-it-all SUV, the Swiss army knife of cars, the Sultan of Swat, the King of Crash, the Colossus of Clout—you get it, even if you’ve never seen “The Sandlot” or visited Colorado. The Outback is all grown up, and handles suburban outings with the same capability as back-country romps. The low, wide, flat floor, and wide door openings make loading and unloading gear a cinch, and dogs love jumping in and out. Collapsible roof racks with tie downs come standard, as does all-wheel drive and a slew of safety features. Available water-repellent interiors, skid plates, a trailer hitch with 3,500-pound towing capacity and so many aftermarket roof-top tent options make this classic as modern as ever. And it’s the only vehicle on our list that can answer the call of the wild with efficient urban driving.
2020 Honda Ridgeline
2017 Honda Ridgeline Black Edition
2018 Honda Ridgeline
2018 Honda Ridgeline
Any pickup truck could make our list, but since the Ridgeline shares a platform with the Honda Pilot crossover SUV, it’s the smoothest-riding pickup and our pick for an impromptu camper. The truck bed extends from 64 inches to 83 inches with the tailgate down, which is long enough to be a makeshift bed in a pinch. With 50 inches across, a twin mattress could fit, or a full-size could get squeezed by the wheel wells. If not being used as a pillow, the dual-action tailgate swings out to the left for easier bed access and a clever floor locker can double as a cooler. A truck-bed audio system on the RTL-E trim sweetens the deal, and an available bed extender or roof-mounted bike carrier means you can bring along the toys. There are some pretty sweet aftermarket tents that extend over the bed, as well.
2020 Jeep Gladiator
2020 Jeep Gladiator with Mopar accessories
2020 Jeep Gladiator
2020 Jeep Gladiator
Jeep’s mid-size pickup truck, or the Wrangler with a bed, offers all the capability of a Wrangler with the added versatility of a pickup that can tow up to 7,650 pounds. And you can take off the roof and doors for a night under the stars. For off-roaders, the long wheelbase limits its breakover angle compared to the Wrangler, though there are few places that would worry the Gladiator. The 5-foot steel cargo bed might not be the best for sleeping, but the available Trail Rail system with a 115-volt AC outlet and all the Mopar parts means you can equip the Gladiator in a way that tells others: “I’ll sleep when I die.”
2020 Dodge Durango SRT
2018 Dodge Durango SRT first drive
2018 Dodge Durango SRT first drive
2020 Dodge Durango SRT
As much as we love the performance from the 475-hp 6.4-liter Hemi V-8 in the Durango SRT, we prize the three-row SUV here for its towing capacity of up to 8,700 pounds ($1,195 package required), which is the most for any SUV not based on a truck. That’s good enough to tow some 30-foot travel trailers, and when you unhitch it at the campsite you can cruise around the local sights with gusto. Or find a straight to hit 60 mph in 4.4 seconds. Careful on arriving at the campground late or leaving early; the unabashed V-8 rumble might cause your neighbors to enact social distancing in a much more hostile way. It seats six, too, with comfy buckets in the first two rows, so if you had to sleep in the car, you could recline and cocoon yourself in blankets or catch a flick on the rear entertainment center ($1,995). That’s not really camping but at least you’re out of the house.
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
2020 Toyota Land Cruiser
It doesn’t matter that this three-row SUV is nearly old enough to get its own driver’s license, the Land Cruiser is beloved the world over for its rugged capability and SUV versatility. The 381-hp V-8 and truck frame give this heavy 4×4 the kind of off-road confidence expected in a truck but with a boxy body. It seats eight but no one will be happy about that. The third row can never get out of its own way, however, even if it’s split and swung out to rest against the wall. The off-road ready Heritage Edition deletes the third row to seat five, and comes with a mega roof rack coveted by posers and brozers alike. Options are limited but tow hooks, skid plates, mud-and-snow tires, a split liftgate/tailgate, and an integrated hitch capable of towing 8,100 pounds come standard. What it lacks in interior refinement and features, the Land Cruiser makes up for in bona fide go-anywhere capability. It’s not the roomiest if you need to crash in it overnight, but there are so many aftermarket accessories and roof-top tents you may never need to.
2020 Land Rover Defender
2020 Land Rover Defender
2020 Land Rover Defender, 2019 LA Auto Show
2020 Land Rover Defender, 2019 LA Auto Show
Land Rover might be the only brand with an off-road reputation on par with the Land Cruiser, and the return of the boxy Defender two- or four-door SUV puts the British brand firmly back in the bush. Thick bumpers, big wheels, heavy cladding, and a tailgate-mounted spare belie the blend of luxury and rugged finishes found inside, such as a touchscreen, alpine lights, and exposed rivets. The Defender X off-road model has locking center and rear differentials, and all Defenders come with four-wheel drive and 11.5-inches of ground clearance, which is nearly an inch more than a Wrangler. An available jump seat could let you sit three up front to get the best shots on safari, and other options such as a 1.7-gallon water reservoir for cleaning off muddy pets or shoes, an electric winch, or roof and side carriers let you customize your outback adventure. The various “packs” are almost as cool as the Defender itself; the Adventure Pack comes with a seat backpack and integrated air compressor.
2022 Volkswagen Microbus
Volkswagen ID Buzz electric bus concept with 1964 VW Microbus
Like the Defender, the Bus is back. Almost. And when it arrives for 2022 as the ID Buzz or the Electric Bus or whatever it’s going to be called, it will be an all-electric van. Little is known about the reboot of the 60s counterculture icon except that it will be a key part of Volkswagen Group’s plans to build 27 different electric vehicles across all brands. Since most established campgrounds have electricity, finding one with EV chargers is getting easier. Ride on, plug in, drop out.

May 23rd, Shipshewana IN
Yesterday (after almost no sleep) we took the rig in for its scheduled appointment (made it 6 months ago so we really couldn't postpone). Went in to have some roof cracks addressed and a slide topper tightened. While tightening the topper the tech noticed the Caulk under the topper on the roof seam needed to be replaced. So now they had to remove the topper and reseal the slide roof. It does explain why we had water dripping from the slide roof during a major downpour.
On the roof they found several more cracks and one that had been improperly repaired. So more work.
The tech was great and he got all the cracks taken care of, repainted the cap, and applied new clear coat. Only problem is that it was 10pm when he finished! Which means a long day of sitting in the waiting room.
Meanwhile I spent most of the day having fun playing with Enterprise car rental. Had a reservation for a pickup truck but they had nobody to pick me up. There was a single Uber operating and it was a high rate along with no commitment when they will be there. Also, they said I could not put a bike rack on the pickup and to do that I needed to rent a 3/4 ton from their truck division next door. A comedy of errors on their part ensued and by the time they found a pickup and got us over to the rental counter it was after 3pm.
After getting the truck, we went straight to the yard to empty the chevy. But they wouldn't let us in without a title document and they were closing soon. So back to waiting at the repair shop.
At 10pm the tech rolled the rig out of the shop and we slept there. He still had some polishing to do in the morning.
Today we got up and headed back to the yard with title in hand. Tough work to say goodbye to a reliable part of your life, took 90 minutes to pack up and leave her behind.
Then we headed an hour north to Paw Paw to see a chevy dealer about a new Silverado. However, we found out that they are now building some Silverados that cannot be flat towed. The ones he had that could were either too much (Denali version with stuff we would never use) or too little.
I had been kicking the tires (good pun?) With Ram pickups and on a whim we went over to the dodge dealer down the street. They had just gotten in a truck that was loaded with stuff we could use. Then he told us that Chrysler....OK they aren't called that any longer...was having a 10% off sale this month on those and the dealer was doing 10% off. So we think that is where we are headed.
Back in Elkhart we picked up the rig...she looks great! And finally headed back to the RV park.
Did some more research on Ram and we are heading back to Paw Paw 🐾 tomorrow morning.

Touchdown Transportation: A Fan's Guide to Getting to the Game
Being a dedicated sports fan is not just about cheering for your team; it's about the entire game-day experience, starting from the moment you leave home. This guide serves as a comprehensive fan's manual on touchdown Sporting Events Transportation—how to get to the game in style, convenience, and with the right amount of team spirit.
1. Public Transit Prowess: Navigating with Ease
For fans looking to make a quick and hassle-free journey to the game, public transit is often the MVP. Many stadiums and arenas are strategically located near major transit hubs, allowing fans to hop on buses, trains, or subways to reach their destination. Public transit not only eliminates the stress of parking but also fosters a sense of camaraderie as fans share the anticipation of the upcoming game during the journey.
2. Tailgating on Wheels: The RV Experience
For those who see the game as more than just a spectator sport but as a full-day event, tailgating in an RV becomes the ultimate game-day ritual. RVs offer the convenience of arriving early, setting up a mini-tailgate party, and enjoying the pre-game festivities in the comfort of your home on wheels. The parking lots become a community of fans, sharing the excitement and building camaraderie before the main event.
3. Ride-Share Revolution: Stress-Free Arrival
The rise of ride-sharing services has revolutionized how fans approach getting to the game. With just a few taps on a smartphone, fans can summon a ride-share vehicle to pick them up from their doorstep and drop them off right at the stadium entrance. This option not only eliminates the need for parking but also allows fans to indulge in pre-game celebrations without worrying about navigating through traffic.
4. Two-Wheeled Fervor: Biking to Victory
For the environmentally conscious and fitness enthusiasts, biking to the game is a winning choice. Many stadiums now offer bike racks and designated bike lanes, making it easier for fans to pedal their way to the event. Biking not only contributes to a healthier lifestyle but also allows fans to enjoy the pre-game atmosphere at a leisurely pace, soaking in the excitement of the approaching game.
Considerations for Choosing Touchdown Transportation
Selecting the right mode of transportation for the game-day adventure involves considering various factors to ensure a smooth and enjoyable experience:
Distance: Evaluate the distance between your home and the stadium to choose a transportation mode that aligns with the travel time and convenience.
Parking: Consider the availability and cost of parking at the stadium, especially for fans driving to the game. Some transportation options, like ride-sharing and public transit, alleviate parking concerns.
Pre-game Activities: Factor in the desire to participate in pre-game activities, such as tailgating. Modes of transportation like RVs and biking cater to fans who want to extend the game-day experience beyond the stadium gates.
Environmental Impact: For eco-conscious fans, choosing transportation options that minimize the environmental impact, such as biking or public transit, aligns with sustainable practices.
Group Size: The size of your group can influence the transportation choice. For larger groups, options like RVs or ride-sharing may be more practical, while solo fans might prefer biking or public transit.
Conclusion: Tailoring the Journey to Victory
The journey to the game is as much a part of the fan experience as the game itself. By tailoring the transportation choice to personal preferences and considerations, fans can enhance the excitement and enjoyment of game day. Whether it's the ease of public transit, the camaraderie of tailgating in an RV, the stress-free arrival with ride-sharing, or the two-wheeled fervor of biking, each option contributes to the unique fabric of the game-day experience.
In the world of touchdown transportation, there is no one-size-fits-all solution. Fans can customize their journey based on factors like distance, parking, pre-game activities, environmental impact, and group size. The goal is not just to get to the game but to create a memorable and enjoyable journey that adds to the overall excitement and camaraderie of being a dedicated sports fan. So, as you gear up for the next game, consider your transportation options wisely, and tailor the journey to victory in a way that suits your fan spirit and game-day aspirations.

We spent the better part of a Month in Blythe at the Mayflower County Park. We have been going there for over 30 years. Bill and Carolyn (Who use to be regular guests at our RV Park,) stooped by in their Motor Home to visit. Greg talked me into getting a new Bike rack they came while were were there. This is So So So much easier than the last one.
