"Hour of the Dragon (8 am)", a fine Adachi reprint of one of the most sought after designs of Utamaro's "Twelve Hours in the Yoshiwara" series.
Just gals being pals.
Kitagawa Utamaro (喜多川 歌麿; c. 1753 – 1806) is widely considered as one of the greatest artists of woodblock prints (ukiyo-e). He is known especially for his masterfully composed studies of women, known as bijinga (美人画), most notably for his bijin ōkubi-e (large-headed pictures of beautiful women) of the 1790s. He also produced nature studies, particularly illustrated books of insects.
