Who called Smallpox that? And if that was ‘small’ then what was the Bigpox? Was there a Bigpox? If there’s no Bigpox, why go Smallpox? Starting small and making their way up? Will there be a Bigpox in future?

This way, your Workers units will be upgraded for free. TIP 2: If you manage to build Leonardo's Workshop, research Explosives before the Workshop becomes obsolete.
#Freeciv workers upgrade#
TIP 1: Upgrade Workers to Engineers when possible, as Engineers require the same resources as ordinary Workers. Be careful not to dedicate too many workers to one task, though excess effort can be wasted, and a group of Workers, Settlers and/or Engineers is highly vulnerable to enemy attacks. If two or more Workers and/or Engineers are both working on the same task in the same square, their efforts will be added together each turn until the task is finished. Settlers, Workers and Engineers may work together to decrease the amount of time required for long projects. Engineers may also perform major terrain transformations (for example, converting Tundra into Desert) which are beyond the capabilities of Workers. A non-military unit (cannot attack no martial law).Įngineers are similar to Workers, but they work twice as fast and move twice as fast.May pillage to destroy infrastructure from tiles.(Must be loaded on a sea vessel on an Oceanic tile.) Can build airbases (if Radio is known). Can build fortresses (if Construction is known). Can build farmland (if Refrigeration is known).May be disbanded in a city to recover 50% of the production cost."Goodie hut" is often abbreviated to "hut".

They are invariably called "goodie huts" by fans, because they usually dispense "good" things such as free technologies or money and in most graphics sets they are represented by a hut (or small number of huts). The word "village" is synonymous with Minor Tribe. Unlike the commercial Civilization games, FreeCiv has Worker units, which can improve. Civ1 and Civ2 players can simply read both words as "Settlers". Power to the workers, Contributed by thrawn (67) on Jun 26, 2017. Therefore, the Civ3 terminology for "Settlers" and "Workers" has been adopted as an exception to the general rule to use Civ1 terminology. If we were to follow Civ1 terminology here, the word "Settler" would create ambiguity for Civ3 and SMAC players. In Civ1 and Civ2, Settlers function both as city-building units and terrain-enhancing units. Unit associated with no civ raids player unitsĬauses disorder riots if exceeds number of happy citizens Portion of trade that goes into your treasuryĪffects bonuses and penalties of your civilization Warning: This may not be accurate yet, and does not include Call to Power terms. For differences in terminology among the Test of Time games, consult the manual. SMAC has the most different terminology, being an unofficial Civ game (although designed in part by Sid Meier) and being set in the future on another planet. Differences between units will not be listed here except for very basic types common to all games. The Civ games tend to share identical concepts, though sometimes they are referred to by different names.

Bigpox games are games where the rules are changed to favour such strategies.
Bigpox (Largepox, lpox) – Freeciv term for strategies involving improving a few cities and building in depth rather than expanding.
Smallpox (spox)- Freeciv term for Infinite City Sprawl, see ICS in general glossary, although 'smallpox' usually refers to building lots of cities with no city improvements very close together, while 'ICS' usually refers to any tactic that relies mainly on building more cities rather than improving existing cities.
SCC – Super science city (a base with lots of labs-enhancing Secret Projects).

An attempt to complete the Epic Game with only one city. Freeciv - Translate doesnt work If I change the language in LanguageSetting, Freeciv is always started in English.
ICS – Infinite City Sprawl, also derisively Infinite City Sleaze and other uncomplimentary phrases.
Goodie hut – Minor Tribe (Civ), Unity Pod (SMAC) "pod" is more common for the latter.
Epic Game – A single-player random or customized map, as opposed to a scenario.
