Speaking of BIG NYC, they are giving away trees the first weekend in May in partnership with New York Restoration Project. Bette Midler! I immediately wanted to jump at the idea of planting a tree in our backyard, but I think it might be too soon to root down a tree before being sure of our layout.

Note to self: new dream job = working for NYRP.

Definitely an involved project, but such a great final product. Everyone loves claw foot tubs, they simply have tons of personality. We've got some claw foots here in Astoria that would be the perfect candidate for something like this... Click the photo to see more photos and get the instructions for this project.

Custom designed Reclaimed Planters. All the side boards slide into an aluminum tracking that allows for expansion and contraction of the wood during the seasons. Designed for plastic liner to sit inside. Gap between the wood and the liner keeps soil at lower temperatures. Treated with waterproofing coating.

This is a great idea for an old door with great patina(which we happen to have TONS of!). It's a super easy project but it's an awesome and inexpensive way to add some unique furniture to your home! Click the photo to see more photos and the original post!

Here's a great idea for a bench made from leftover or scrap lumber. We even have tons of lumber at both our locations that would be great for a project like this!

We've got power back in our Gowanus store, but the warehouse got pretty trashed when the canal overflowed. Thanks to all the volunteers we've had so far cleaning up!
