Fourteen Days of My Hero Academia

Greetings, friends! The ending has been announced for beloved shounen manga My Hero Academia by Kohei Horikoshi, and I thought it would be a nice opportunity for everyone to express their love of this amazing series! So I am posting a series of prompts for everyone if they would like to participate in this little fandom challenge.

The idea is that, on each day listed, you will create and post something with respect to the day's theme. By create, I mean whatever your heart desires. It could be a fanfic, a fanart, a fanvid, a moodboard, a diorama, a meta post, a screenshot, a poem, a drabble, a few sentences of reflection, anything really! Whatever your brain dreams up! The only requirements are that it qualifies as some sort of fan creation for MHA and that it pertains to the day's theme. The final day of the event will be the official release date of the final chapter of MHA: August 5th, 2024.

Any given day may have multiple prompts. You do not have to do all of them (unless you really, really want to), rather you may pick the one prompt that inspires you the most! And feel free to interpret each prompt however you like. For example, on day 8, you may wish to interpret "line" as a spoken piece of dialogue or as a drawn shape such as the way Horikoshi does creative paneling. On day 11, you could interpret "name" as a nickname, a code name, the kanji in a character's name, or any special meaning in a character's name. Let your imagination run wild!

You may skip out on days if you wish or need to. You may put as much or as little time and effort into this as you like. You could start working now to make some big works, or you could use this opportunity to do a little daily journal project. The sky is the limit! The goal here is to spend some time thinking about MHA before it ends and to make a collection of little fanworks for everyone to enjoy in the process!

Not so Berry 3.0 | Exotic Fruits Version

The Not so Berry 3.0 challenge is based on the original Not so Berry challenge created by @lilsimsie. This challenge features exotic fruits as the names of its generations. It is important to note that NSB 3.0 does not follow all the colors of versions 1.0 and 2.0, nor their stories, and includes a bonus generation, meaning that there will be 11 generations in the legacy for this challenge.

This updated challenge for 2023 aims to cover a different gameplay from previous challenges, using more expansions and game packs for an even more enjoyable legacy. However, this does not mean that it cannot be played by those who do not have the expansion or game packs for the generation, it can be adapted during any generation for the packs you own in the coolest way for you and that fits best in the presented story.

During the challenge, you will notice that we will use items from the new update (Feb/2023), including legacies with hearing-impaired and trans individuals. The intention is not to interfere with gameplay but to create a more inclusive NSB challenge where everyone can feel seen. Therefore, we will follow the same basic rules already known by the simmer community, updated for 2023.

Not so Berry 3.0 | Exotic Fruits Version

Basic Rules:

Each heir represents the color of the generation (hair, clothing, makeup…), but it is not necessary to apply this to skin color. This is totally optional, but it is a big part of the fun.

The colors of the spouses are not important. Unless otherwise stated, you can do whatever you want with them.

Money cheats can be used, but not excessively. Suggestion: use freerealestate to buy your first house, then continue the game without cheats.

You can live in any world, unless there is a rule about it in a certain generation.

All generations must complete career and aspiration goals, unless explicitly stated otherwise.

Keep the normal lifespan.

Infant and toddler traits can be freely chosen by the player.

Child and teen aspirations can be freely chosen by the player, unless specified in the generation.

All heirs must be firstborns, unless explicitly specified in the generation.

Generation 1: White Strawberry | Color: White

Requires: StrangerVille Game Pack

You have always been extremely curious and had a investigative soul. But above all, helping other sims constantly motivated your heart. And so, when you heard about a mysterious town with sims acting strange, you knew that was your place. Moving to StrangerVille was definitely the best decision of your life. That was your destiny and you would fulfill it.

Traits: Genius, Good, Paranoid Aspiration: StrangerVille Mystery | Location Career: Secret Agent | Branch: Diamond Agent

Rules:

Complete the StrangerVille Mystery aspiration;

Complete the Logic and Programming skills;

Reach at least level 6 of the Charisma skill;

Be good friends with 4 infected sims in StrangerVille;

Marry a sim that you saved from contamination;

Live your entire life in StrangerVille.

Generation 2: Kiwi | Color: Green

Requires:Get Famous Expansion Pack

Growing up with a well-known relative can be tough, especially when that relative is your mother… Despite the constant exposure, you always felt proud to be the daughter of the hero of StrangeVille. It's understandable that other Sims are grateful to someone who saved an entire town from devastation. But growing up with the weight of having to do something even bigger was not easy. Your dream is to one day become even more famous and break the stigmas imposed by society for being hearing-impaired.

Traits: Ambitious, Self-absorbed, Extroverted Aspiration: World-Famous Celebrity | Popularity Career: Any career, as long as you meet the requirement of being a 5-star celebrity at the end. Example of careers that give you fame: Painting, Writing, Entertainment, Music, Acting…

Rules:

Complete the World-Famous Celebrity aspiration;

Complete the chosen career;

Complete the Charisma skill, as well as the skill connected to the chosen profession, which can be: Painting, Writing, Comedy, Acting or any instrument…

Win an award in your career;

Buy your dream home as an adult;

Have a single daughter from a tumultuous relationship.

Generation 3: Yellow Watermelon | Color: Yellow

Requires: Cats & Dogs expansion pack and Cottage Living expansion pack (The latter only due to the Animal Lover trait, which can easily be replaced with Cat or Dog Lover).

You had the best education your parents could afford, with everything top-notch. However, you grew up in a complicated and uncommunicative family. Therefore, your dream was a simpler life away from the spotlight and the chaos of being a celebrity. Just thinking about famous sims made your stomach churn, in fact, just thinking about any sim made you nervous… But, there was one exception: your beloved grandma, who is your rock and best friend. Not being popular was never a problem because you always preferred animals anyway. The affection of kittens and puppies was always the purest and all you needed to have.

Traits: Animal Lover, Loner, Loyal Aspiration: Friend of the Animals | Animal Career: Veterinarian

Rules:

Be best friends with your grandma;

Buy a veterinary clinic;

Complete the Friend of the Animals aspiration;

Complete the Veterinarian career;

Complete the Veterinary and Animal Training skills;

Always have at least two animals in your household throughout your life;

Have your first child only at the end of your young adult phase or only in the adult phase, the choice is yours. Your daughter should be a science baby.

Generation 4: Lychee | Color: Red

Requires: City Living Expansion Pack and High School Expansion Pack (If you don't have it, complete any other aspiration during your teenage years that is not the same as your adult phase).

Your mother is your main reference of an independent sim, she raised you very well on her own, in the best way she could. But being alone was never your thing, you grew up wanting to explore the world. Every moment, the desire to visit new places in different cities, to meet new sims and maybe flirt... a lot. You wanted that very much too, because hook up with only one sim is not your style.

Traits: Romantic, Noncommittal, Lazy Aspiration: Teen: Drama Queen Adult: Serial Romantic | Love Note: If you finish the teenage aspiration early, you can start the adult aspiration in this phase. Career: Critic | Branch: Chosen by you

Rules:

Complete both teenage and adult aspirations;

Have at least 10 romantic relationships in your life;

Get married and divorced twice with different sims (you can take money from your spouses if you wish);

Have 3 children from different relationships (Note: we'll do it differently here, among the 3 children, you can choose who will inherit your legacy. It can be your firstborn or your favorite child… let's agree that every mother/father has one 😂).

Reach at least level 5 in the Critic career. As our generation is lazy, you don't have to complete the career if you don't want to.

Die as an elderly sim while woohooing.

Generation 5: Physalis | Color: Orange

Requires: Snowy Escape Expansion Pack and My First Pet Stuff Pack

Your family was large and chaotic, but despite the differences in preferences and dislikes, you all manage to get along very well. This makes these relationships quite miraculous. Unlike your siblings, your life was all about adventure and the unexpected. The butterflies in your stomach that you felt during these adventures were the best feeling in the world for you and all you wanted was to be an athlete. Despite always putting your career first, you love your children and strive to be a good mother, even though you know you weren't born for it.

Traits: Active, Adventurous, Foodie Aspiration: Extreme Sports Enthusiast | Athletic Career: Athlete

Rules:

Complete the Extreme Sports Enthusiast aspiration;

Reach at least level 7 in the Athlete career;

Complete the Gymnastics and Climbing skills;

Choose between Skiing or Snowboarding to complete;

Find your soulmate during one of your adventures;

Your romantic partner must have the Active or Adventurous trait like you;

Only have twin children: 1 girl and 1 boy (you can use cheats and/or lot traits for this);

Have a hamster as a family pet.

Generation 6: Grapefruit | Color: Peach

Requires: Base Game

Your mother put her career first, and you grew up feeling neglected. You felt the effort, yet she couldn't meet your expectations, much less your feelings. You carried the hurt in your heart, especially because you always suspected that she loved your brother more than you. And your brother…ugh, you can't even think about him because you hate him so much. Your only weakness is your father and the family hamster. Otherwise, the world is your playground.

Traits: Self-Assured, Evil, Perfectionist Aspiration: Public Enemy | Deviance Career: Criminal | Branch: Chosen by you

Rules:

Complete the Public Enemy aspiration;

Complete the Criminal career;

Complete the Mischief skill + if you choose the Boss branch, also complete the Mechanic skill. If you choose the Oracle branch, complete the Programming skill instead;

You have to hate your brother, be known by your mother, and be a good friend to your father;

Have a daughter with a fellow criminal;

As an adult, seek forgiveness from your brother and mother. Become good friends with both.

Generation 7: Dragon Fruit | Color: Pink

Requires: City Living expansion pack and Spa Day game pack

You grew up surrounded by crime. Both of your parents were top-notch criminals and you witnessed everything up close as a child and teenager. Despite all the bad things they did, you knew you were protected by them. You struggled with yourself, but loved them with all your heart and hated yourself for it. It was a true internal conflict, after all, you don't choose your parents. But one thing you can choose: your actions. That's why you were going to make up for all the bad things they did and give twice as much good to the world. You would show everyone that a criminal's daughter could do good and change her own destiny.

Traits: Cheerful, Outgoing, Goofball Aspiration: Zen Master | Wellness Career: Politics | Branch: Charity Organizer

Rules:

Leave home during adolescence and take no money from your parents;

You will start life with 24,000 simoleons given by your grandmother (you can use cheats for this);

Find your soulmate as a teenager;

Complete the Zen Master aspiration;

Complete the political career in the indicated branch;

Complete the wellness and charisma skills;

Random number of children: Using any random number generator, ask for the number of children you should have. The numbers must be from 1 to 5;

The heir to the legacy will be a trans woman.

Generation 8: Figo | Color: Lilac

Requires: Life in the Countryside Expansion and University Life Expansion

Your mother is the best sim in the world to you. How can someone be a well of kindness, philanthropy, and altruism? Well… You don't know the answer, nor the story behind it because your mother never told you, but you know she is much more than just an inspiration, she is a way of life. That's why you chose to follow in her footsteps, but listening to your own heart since your dream was to be an educator and lead a simple and happy life alongside the sims you love.

Traits: Lactose Intolerant, Bookworm, Childish Aspiration: Country Caretaker | Nature Career: Educator | Branch: Your choice

Rules:

Complete the Country Caretaker aspiration;

Complete the Educator career;

Complete the Research and Debate skill + If you choose the administrator branch, complete Charisma. If you choose the teacher branch, complete Logic;

Marry your soulmate, who must have the Family trait and already have children;

Have two children, one of them must be adopted. Add your spouse's children to the family.

Generation 9: Blueberry | Color: Blue

Requires: Get to Work Expansion Pack, University Life Expansion Pack, and High School Life Expansion Pack (this last one due to the "Overachiever" trait, which can be replaced for any other trait if you dont have this expansion pack).

Your mother was a great educator and you grew up inspired by the desire to learn. Going to college became a dream, and it was there that you discovered you wanted to be a detective. But not just any detective, you want to reach the top. As no one is perfect, you have a secret: you are a collector of objects. You can't see something new and beautiful without wanting to buy it, can you? Luckily, you will work hard to buy everything you want, just never let anyone into your basement.

Traits: Materialistic, Neat, Overachiever Aspiration: Academic | Knowledge Career: Detective

Rules:

Go to college and study psychology;

Complete the Academic aspiration during your time in university;

After completing the Academic aspiration, you may choose another aspiration to complete throughout the generation, if you wish;

Complete the Research and Debate skill;

Complete the Detective career;

Live on a lot worth 90,000 simoleons during adulthood, due to the materialistic trait;

Have a basement full of knick-knacks, due to the same trait.

Generation 10: Cassis | Color: Black

Requires: City Living Expansion Pack, Get Together Expansion Pack, and High School Expansion Pack

To say that you're popular is an understatement considering how well-liked you are. You are loved, admired, and everyone wants to be your friend. It's almost as if you exude a hypnotic aura. As a result, you have every sim in the palm of your hand, and you like it that way. If anyone ever dislikes you, it will sound like an insult, and you will do everything to resolve the situation and get all the appreciation you deserve.

Traits: Outgoing, Creative, Hates Children Aspiration: Teen: Admirable Icon

Adult: Friend of the World | Popularity Career: Social Media | Branch: Public Relations Rules:

Complete the Friend of the World aspiration;

Complete the Social Media career in the indicated branch;

Complete the Charisma and Writing skills;

Have a summer fling - Fall in love with a supernatural sim: werewolf, vampire, alien, spellcaster, or mermaid.

Have a child by accident as a young adult with your supernatural summer fling;

Do not marry the father of your child.

Generation 11: Guaraná | Two-toned hair + Heterochromia

Requires: Parenthood Game Pack, Dream Home Decorator Stuff Pack

You're a mixture of the mundane and the supernatural. You're not sure who you are, nor even what you like. Nothing you do seems to work out, and indecision is a constant in your life. Additionally, you and your father don't see eye to eye and have a difficult relationship.

Traits: Clumsy, Geek, Erratic Aspiration: Super Parent | Family Career: Interior Decorator

Rules:

Complete the Super Parent aspiration;

Complete the Interior Decorator career;

Complete the Parenting, Handiness, and Charisma skills;

Have a love triangle: Fall in love with your best friend and a sim with gray hair;

Have a child with one of them;

Not know who the father of your child is until they become a toddler;

Live in 3 different worlds.

In this house we KNOW Jason Voorhees did nothing wrong

we watched Jason 2 last night- I'm sorry Friday the 13th part II is too long a title, they're about Jason being a very good boy so they're called Jason movies. Period.- and now I kinda want to watch all of them. Except that crappy one. Where he's Corey Feldman's character all grown up and he thinks he's Jason? And there's this really weird keystone cops vibe to the whole thing? Idk. That ones bad.

But the best one - besides Jason in Space and Jason vs Freddy- is the one where the kids are at camp and these children have hilarious glorious lines like "what did you want to grow up to be?" Bc they just accept that Jason is going to murder them too.

Without looking anything up, I'm pretty sure I can do all the Jason movies. Let's go:

Momma voorhees. Great sweater, excellent momBob, and you get to see Kevin Bacons Bits if you know when to pause the movie. 3.75 stars. Not funny, kinda off vibes

Jason in a bag. He's a very clumsy boy, falls off a whisker chair, is confused by a small dog (who does not die!), and is hit by a car like twice. He only kills like what 6 people on screen? And we get BEST final girl Ginny, who takes a chainsaw to our soft prince, and mind mojos him to think his momma is alive. 5 outta 5 stars! Some nice boobs, creep dies strung up like the perv his is and Jason is mu sweetest baby boi.

Behold, a hockey mask. Much better for peripheral and way more sensibly than a FUCKING BAG! Jason finds a house with stupid horny teens- or college kids? I'm never certain- and another with a newly divorced mom, her slightly sassy daughter and a young monster obsessed Corey Feldman. Pretty good kills, the dog laters out to go join a wolf pack (run by muffin obs), and Corey Feldman gives himself a bad haircut to bond with our big headed hero,Jason. 4.25 outta 5. Funny, more agile Jason, and I had no sympathy for the college idiots who died epically.

The fucking worst. I think they were trying for a Legacy Jason bc he definitely "died" in 3. So elder teen Corey Feldman thinks he's Jason and at the POORLY run TROUBLED TEEN camp he goes to someone starts killing folks. I vaguely remember the actual killer but... who cares. This is the worst. 1 star.

Again w all adulted Corey (reminder not thr actor but the character, but who bothers to remember their names?) Digs up Jason's body, it gets struck by lightning and He's Back! I think this is the one with the biker gang. And the sheriff's daughter has a taste for danger and breaks not-corey out to defeat Jason. 2.5 stars. I think there was an rv death? But a fun scene in a barn!

Jason's not dead, just napping and when he ends up in a morgue his heart infects a doctor who becomes... jason...? It's odd. You guys remember Nightmares on Elm st dream Child? I think it's like that. 2 stars. Fucked if I remember anything from this movie. This is where I get a little shaky

Jason back at camp baby! I think this is the one with the funny kids. And it's just a really straight forward slasher. No lore, no stupid shit just bad counselors getting what they deserve for not watching children. 3.9 stars. Best part is the kids

Jason in SPAAAACEE! And it's amazing. A ship full of med students find Jason cryogenically frozen and a woman as well. They defrost both, murder hijinx ensue. Jason becomes a cyborg. And they completely miss shooting him into the sun. It's so stupid and so good and I love my son! 5 billion stars! Lore? Who needs lore when you've got a cyborg jason?!

Jason vsFreddy. The best team up full stop. With Jason's relentless desire to punish bad teens and Freddy's pervy ass? Forget about it. Nice lore, and the addition of seeing how happy Jason is in his death is perfection. 5 outta 5 stars. Look yes, Jason's gonna kill you, he'll have fun with it, but he won't sexually assault you while doing it.

conclusion: the middle ones suck. Skip them. Watch 2, 3, Jason in Space and Jason vs Freddy.

Now that Fire Emblem Heroes has opened it's yearly Choose Your Legends voting period.... I am kindly asking you to consider sparing a vote (or two!) to two of my favorites in the series: F!Robin and Sigurd!

Why?

Well let's start with Robin,

Robin fans won out last year when their Male counterpart won the male division of CYL 7 alongside Soren and I'm sure many F!Robin fans (myself included) helped him reach that victory by voting, just as we did in previous years with Chrom and A!Tiki. F!Robin has waited for her time to shine and has supported her competition for several years now. It's time for her to receive the Awakening vote love!

If that wasn't enough to sway you, let's look at F!Robin's legacy in FEH.

1. Her base version was a year 1 grail unit with a mediocre (affectionate) refine that takes max investment to work around

2. Her summer alt is a year one seasonal with a bad weapon and book 1 era stats (but she sure is cute!)

3. Her legendary alt isn't even her- it's Grima. Grima took away her chance at being a legendary unit

4. Her Halloween alt is another Grima alt. She didn't even get to participate in Halloween because Grima took the spot :(

5. Her Valentine's alt is adorable but still a seasonal locked unit

6. Her rearmed version is yet another Grima.

HALF of all F!Robin's in FEH are Grima alts. There is no F!Robin available to summon in the normal 4/5 star pool. Getting a brave alt would be a big deal for her and her fans.

Now, let's talk about Sigurd

Sigurd comes from FE4, Genealogy of the Holy War, a game I know many of you may not have played yet. That's okay though! I get it! It's a bit old and jank to play and you need to emulate it with a translation patch if you don't understand Japanese. So I'm gonna explain who this man is to you....

Sigurd is the heir to house Chalphy and a descent of the crusader Baldr in Judgral, which makes him kind of a big deal. Throughout his game, he makes allies with many people throughout Judgral in an attempt to unify and fight back against the rising corruption.

Along his journey, he meets Deirdre and the two fall in love and end up having a son together, Seliph. Sigurd is devoted to his family and loves Deirdre more than anything in the world. Sigurd is a family man. Look at this Cipher art if you need more explanation:

(*SPOILERS ahead for FE4, but FEH and Engage already spoiled this so if you somehow don't know what happens to Sigurd, maybe stop reading here*)

Tragedy befalls the couple not long after their son is born... Deirdre is kidnapped and her memories are wiped clean as she is needed for a sinister plot... Her holy blood is needed to help the Loptous cult resurrect their dark God so they use Deirdre as a pawn and marry her off to Arvis.

Sigurd is distraught with his wife gone and searches and searches for her but ultimately must continue through on his plans. He returns to his home and is met by Arvis, the Duke of Velthomer, and the descendant of the imperial family. He welcomes them in as a deceitful trick and declares Sigurd a traitor and calls for his execution. Before he issues the order, Arvis lets Sigurd meet his new wife- Deirdre as a sick and twisted punishment. With that, Arvis calls down Valflame and kills Sigurd and many of his army members.

Sigurd's legacy is carried by his son, Seliph, who will free Judgral from the horrors that the dark cult inflicted many years later.

So that was heavy. But do you understand why he's such a compelling character??? He has such an unfortunate heroes tale, but FEH let's us see him again and be able to reunite him with his love and his son.

Seliph got his own brave alt two years ago in CYL 6 and it feels right for it to be his father's time to step up and shine as a brave hero.

Let's look at Sigurd's legacy in FEH:

1. His base version is a year 1 sword cavalier who's a bit outdated but not unusable by any means with proper skill investment

2. His duo dancer alt is Deirdre is one of the best arts in the game and I won't let anyone convince me otherwise

3. His Legendary alt was a meta threat at one point in time and the art is gorgeous

4. Lastly, this year he got his second seasonal alt, a tea time Butler alt that just cute. He definitely is serving tea for Deirdre and making sure she's happy.

A brave alt just seems perfectly fitting for him at this point!

In conclusion, these are two characters who are ready for their moment to shine in FEH with a brave alt. They've waited for their friends or family members to get there first and now it's (potentially) their time for the brave win. Thank you for reading all this and may the CYL odds be in our favor!

some thor fans and loki fans may disagree with what im gonna say here BUT. i think the run which best encapsulates why i love the character and the universe, as well as having essentially a very long guided tour through some of the most significant points of the thor sub-universe within the larger MU, is jason aaron's huge thor run from 2012 to 2019 (along with everything else happening in the thor universe at that time, covered by al ewing, kieron gillen, and marguerite bennett in a few also very good spinoffs).

this is the series where the God Butcher comes from, where Jane Foster becomes Thor, where loki is canon genderfluid in Agent of Asgard, where thor fights capitalism, and much more. it's not perfect, especially in terms of characterisation when some characters get thrown between their own miniseries and the main run, but it really encapsulates what I love about thor in his comics, and it's the run that, over the course of collecting the five huge paperback collections u can get it in, made me fall in love with this sub-section of the MU

proper reading order under the cut, plus brief explanations of crossover tie-ins and so on. it looks complicated but it's basically just cos marvel loves to re-start with a new #1 every so often to keep sales up, and because i think you should read the accompanying spinoffs. if you don't want to read the excess spinoffs (although agent of asgard is VERY good) just stick to things with 'thor' in the name.

Yeah, Shin Megami Tensei for the Super Famicom is now 31 years old. It is surprising for me how a game that came out full 6 years before i even give my first breath on this Earth, would be so important for me and my life. But here we are.

Even after playing the entirety of the mainline franchise, and a lot of spin offs, this game still holds its position very well in my heart because it is such a unique game. First, i always loved mythology and religion, so much so that i pursued it as a career. It started when i was little, with the influence of my father who was a scholar (albeit amateur) of those fields. Religion always played a major role in my life, both for the good and the bad, and although i don't actually align with any religion at the moment, i was studying the bible in a religious school since a very early age.

So, when i found out about Shin Megami Tensei, it clicked really, really well with me. I know that it is just a game, and even if it tries a lot to be faithful, as a researcher and scholar of Mythology and Religion we got to say it not always gets it right. But it tries! And when it tries, it can achieve very good results, and that's why i love it so much.

And that was when i was a teen/young adult. Now i grew up a lot, and even started my career in those fields, and still regard this game very high.

The characters are great for me, because i love how this game can be incredibly inclusive. Your main character is not a destined hero, or magical being. It is just an average guy, going to the groceries when the world start to end. He lives with his mom, have its problematic friends, and lives an average life. He always acts like any other person would act, and even his looks are just average.

Now, the thing is that this game did not aged well, but its absolutely playable and very fun to play. The old SMT titles have this ''survival horror'' energy, where you have to take care of resources while advancing in the game. ''Should you use your complete party in this dungeon, since its dangerous, but risk to deplete your MAG stock?'' Stuff like that got me.

And this brings me to how much i hate Atlus as a capitalist company. They made this effort to show us they care about the anniversary of the franchise that kick-started their business, but did not do anything about it. Just shoved merch to the US audience, that is not available anywhere else. Us, from outside, just did not got anything from this ''anniversary''. And i thought the Persona 25th was bad enough lol. But i guess merch hoarders are happy?

And that was a big fucking lie

I honestly don't want anything out of the ordinary. If they could at least port the SNES titles to the Switch Online at the west, because its already available in Japan, i beleive we would be very grateful already. Playing and presenting this games for a new generation is a pain. And i believe Shin Megami Tensei deserves it as a series, not only for its uniqueness but also for everything this IP did to Atlus.

But hey, i guess we are getting something, right? We have a whole new Persona 5 spin off coming next week! I am so hyped to see the same characters, exactly as they were 7 years ago, in another story about teen rebellion or whatever.

Im sorry, SMT. We failed with you. But your legacy will never be gone. I beleive SMT message keeps relevant to this day, and even more so as the time passes by. The world is a very different place then it was in 199X, but still a very divided and extremist place. SMT was the only game of its time to tackle this issues.

Happy anniversary to Shin Megami Tense, as a great game as one of my favorite games of all time. I wish more people could play it at least once!

And yeah, to celebrate i think i will be beating SMT 2 tonight, after lectures!

Also I may be alone on this but I think Izu should have been a villain or be with Shig (not shippong talking) like, they could have balanced each other. I say always, it makes 0 sense for Izu think bk is cool.

But why I think they would be a good duo?

1) Shig never called him deku. NEVER

2) Izu is a very smart person and could have helped in Shig's plans. Also...forced the man to have more emotional maturity. I dont think he is a manchild - looking at AFO, what is up with fandom to give he bad traits of character A to character B?- just he could grown that mindset.

3) Their goals could be more sympathetic. The hero commission and how people sit idly as let heroes to break their backs to save one person.

4) also the contrast of how Shimura vs Midoriya can be perceived. Like, in a non war era, imagine people find out he is a Shimura? Would people try to reach and "save" him? Would they offer the same courtesy to Izu?

5) Shig is canonically fine with quirkless stuff. Imagine Izu in such positive enverioment for once. "But Shig is a villain?" Yes. And he would change for the best too. Grant in this au...I dont see necessity of LoV and they would nees to be more morally grey and not "kill is fun" (I can see this working only with Shig)

6) The arcs would make sense. The mc and Shig are facing bigger enemies, we see their struggles and their wins

7) Izu beating up BK. Its not a big challange, he could have done this ages ago...all he needes was someone to tell him YOU CAN DO IT

8) AFO has 2 haters who are about to destroy him.

9) imagine AM reaction to know afo was destroyed by shig and Izu.

I may be off here but like...only Shig seems to react positively to Izu being quirkless or to quirkless stuff. And look, at this point, Izu and Shig should go destroy stuff together.

I do like the Villian!Izu trope in fanfics (although its really hard to find one where he is not obsessed with Bkg or the story isn't BkDk 🤮.)

Also I do see Izu and Shig as a good team as well, I have mentioned before how I believe Shig should have been the rival of MHA.

I agree with the points you listed about Izu and Shig and how they could have made a good duo. The LOV would need to be more morally grey to make this work too and both Izu and Shig could easily grow off each other - Shig growing out of the "Destroy everything" motivation and for Izu to stop seeing himself as useless.

Also canonically, bar Toga, the main three villian's being "saved" all have a connection to a hero, Shig to Nana and Dabi to Endeav and Shoto. So would Villian!Izu be offered the opportunity to be saved? A child villain is sympathetic however no one seems to care too much about Mustard so that's an interesting question to think about. I do think in this AU Shig would insist upon Izu being saved with him if a hero tries to save / redeem him.

Izu deserves every opportunity to dunk on both Bakugou and AFO (AFO with Shig's help.) I can see AM being very proud of them (even if they are both villains) wrecking AFO's legacy together.

The Marvels had so much potential. It could have been about friendship, sisterhood and overcoming your past mistakes but it somehow failed in all those aspects.

In my opinion the movie could have been saved if they did these things-

1. Spent more time flushing out Monica's and Carol's relationship like it could have shown a cute past memory of them together. Like Carol saving Monica when she is falling while they were flying a plane and this scene should cut off before she saves her. Then at the end of the movie, the complete memory should've been shown to give us hope before Carol fails to save Monica.

2.Given Kamala's family something to do. It showed that they were scared for her but it could have been done better. Like Muneeba could've been really worried and Nick Fury could have had a nice moment with her and advised her. And before the climax Muneeba would get over her worries and tell Kamala to go save the day but come back to her safe.

3.Flushing out Aladna and Carol' romance with its Prince. Like a big Bollywood musical sequence that showed them falling in love. Carol should've married him for love not just for some legal reason. Then it would show her leaving Aladna and her love because the rest of the universe needed her.

4.The heroes should've kept failing because they were out of sync. Aladna should've been completely destroyed and their Prince dead. And in the end when they come together, they beat the villain. The villain dying on her own was stupid. Carol would be mad at Kamala because she was the reason they escaped and Aladna was destroyed.

5.No Valkyrie cameo. The Skrulls should've been left on another temporary planet and their leader should've told Carol that sooner or later the Kree would find them.

6.Monica realised earlier that Carol can save Kree sun but it will kill her so she doesn't reveal it. At the end she tells Carol this and after everything is done, Carol reignites the sun and in the process kills herself.

7.Before she goes to save Hala's sun, Carol would have a nice moment with Kamala. She would forgive Kamala for taking them away from Aladna. And she would tell her to carry on her name and legacy. She would also say goodbye to Fury.

8.Nick Fury oversees a peace meeting between the Skrulls and Kree that would potentially stop the animosity at the very end with Goose with him. The Kree would call Carol their saviour, replacing the Annihilator name. Two of Fury's people would be shown over a call with him, raising the Flerken kittens on a different planet.

9.The introduction of Kamala should've been her saving the Jersey city from some villain and Muneeba being angry at her for risking her life. At the end she would leave home to go save the city again bit with Muneeba's blessing. It would be a funny twist if the Khans are shown to have kept a Flerken kitten.

As a huge movie buff, I thought I'd try something fun on here. I have decided to launch a new internet challenge: "The 100 Favorite Movies Challenge". The rules are pretty simple and straight forward. Mortal Kombat: The Series - a rough outline

Since recent Mortal Kombat stories (both the adaptations and the actual story modes within the games themselves) have been mixed at best, I figure why not detail how I would do a more modern adaptation of the franchise.

I practically have been adapting the franchise for my AU, but this post will be for a more faithful adaptation that adapts the original canon as best as it can.

First and foremost, I would indeed make this a series. MK can still work as a film franchise, but I do feel a series, whether animated or live-action, can explore the world-building and character development far better than a movie could.

The series would run for at least 6-7 seasons with the major games being adapted in some kind of capacity.

Without further ado, here's a rough outline of each season...

Season 1 - The tournament (Old MK1)

The series begins with five episodes detailing the origins of certain groups of characters leading up to the tournament, similar to MK Legacy.

These groups of characters are...

- Liu Kang and Kung Lao

- Johnny Cage

- Sonya Blade, Jax and Kano

- Kitana and Mileena

- Scorpion and Sub-Zero

Episode 6 is the arrival on the island, the proper introduction of Shang Tsung, hints of Goro and Reptile, a showcase of what the characters can do before the big tournament, and the seeds of certain relationships being planted, like Liu Kang x Kitana and Johnny x Sonya.

The tournament begins in episode 7 and takes up about half of the season (6 episodes). It culminates with Liu Kang killing Goro and besting Shang Tsung. The season ends on a cliffhanger with a tease of Shao Kahn.

I honestly feel that 12 episodes is the right amount to establish the main characters without things dragging on too much. With that being said, each of the following seasons are longer due to the constantly growing number of characters.

Season 2 - Into Outworld (MK2)

After Liu Kang's victory in the first tournament, the forces of Outworld, led by Baraka, massacre the Temple of Light, which motivates Liu Kang and his allies into agreeing to fight in another tournament. This time, in Outworld.

This is where we start to see the previously established relationships grow with Johnny and Sonya starting to have feelings for each other, and Liu Kang learning about why Kitana has such an interest in him.

We don't do dedicated episodes for certain characters anymore. They still get told, but in flashbacks. Why? Because much like what The4thSnake said when approaching how he would adapt MK, setting up your main cast is integral enough for the first season that it can work that way, but further characters and follow-ups can't hold the plot advancement back too much once the series has already gotten going.

Kitana ends up killing Mileena, finally allowing herself to align with the Earthrealm heroes. The climax is Liu Kang and Kung Lao vs. Shao Kahn. Why both Liu Kang and Kung Lao? As a way to show just how strong Shao is to the point where the two monks have to combine their strength to take him down.

Shao is left wounded, and the heroes return to Earthrealm with Kitana joining their side. Again, the season ends on a cliffhanger with Shang Tsung and Quan Chi healing Shao as they begin to enact their plan to resurrect Sindel on Earthrealm.

Season 3 - The invasion (MK3)

Shao Kahn resurrects Sindel on Earthrealm, which allows it to merge with Outworld. With Raiden losing his powers as a result of the merger, it's up to Liu Kang to lead the rebellion against Shao and his forces to save Earthrealm one more time.

While all of this is going on, we also have Sub-Zero rebelling against the Cyber Lin Kuei, who set out to capture him alive.

Eventually, the season culminates with Liu Kang facing Shao Kahn on his own after Kung Lao gets injured by the emperor. Liu Kang defeats Shao, who is then killed by the Elder Gods when they arrive shortly after. Sindel is restored to good, and Kitana says goodbye to Liu Kang as she wishes to get back what she lost all of those years.

The season also ends with Johnny and Sonya getting engaged.

Season 4 - Netherrealm war (MK4)

This season potentially opens with a multi-parter based on Mythologies: Sub-Zero where we see the history that Scorpion and Sub-Zero have with Quan Chi and Shinnok. In fact, this season is likely going to be mostly centered around them.

Liu Kang kinda steps down from the focus, but he still gets a huge role in the season with him trying to save Kitana and Edenia. Johnny and Sonya tie the knot sometime between seasons, and Cassie is born by then. The three main heroes lead the forces of Earthrealm against Shinnok during the Netherrealm war.

Eventually, Shinnok is defeated and Quan Chi escapes into a lost tomb where he discovers the ancient undead army of the Dragon King, which no doubt leads to the next season.

Season 5 - Next generation (MKX + Deadly Alliance)

The season takes place about 20 years after the previous one. Raiden has become an Elder God with Fujin replacing him as Earthrealm's protector. Johnny and Sonya as well as other characters like Jax, Kung Lao and Kenshi are much older. However, Liu Kang is still youthful due to his role as champion of Mortal Kombat. He still longs for the day he can get with Kitana, which no doubt will have a great payoff.

The heroes have been training the new generation of fighters like Cassie, Takeda and Kung Jin so that they can defend Earthrealm through Mortal Kombat sometime in the future. While all of this is going on, Quan Chi forms an alliance with Shang Tsung as they plan on resurrecting the Dragon King's army so that they can conquer the realms.

Throughout the season, we also follow side plots with Nitara, Kotal Kahn and his rise to power, Orderrealm vs. Chaosrealm, etc.

The season ends with the Kombat Kids losing to both Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, and being taken prisoners as Onaga makes his return to reclaim his army.

Season 6 - The Dragon King (Deception)

Liu Kang, Sonya and Johnny learn of the Kombat Kids being captured, so they decide to come out of retirement to save them. Liu Kang also reunites with Kitana, who agrees to help the Earthrealm heroes face Onaga and the Deadly Alliance, who are hellbent on reviving The One Being.

At some point, the old heroes face the Kombat Kids, who are being controlled by Onaga. Eventually, they are restored. We also wrap up the rivalry that Liu Kang has with Shang Tsung as well as the one that Scorpion and Sub-Zero have with Quan Chi, which result in the sorcerers getting killed.

The climax is Liu Kang vs. Onaga. Liu Kang finally becomes the Fire God after he and Kitana are mortally wounded, and manages to destroy The Dragon King. Kitana becomes a goddess and finally gets to be with Liu Kang as they become the protectors of the realms (not just Earthrealm, but also Outworld and Edenia).

Bonus season - Timelines kollide (MK11 + Armageddon)

The series officially wraps in Season 6, but there can indeed be a bonus season.

Instead of time travel, it's a multiverse season that brings in different versions of the characters from prior incarnations of the franchise (such as the films) and even the AU I was working on as they team up to thwart a new threat. I thought of having said threat be Titan Shang Tsung, or at least a version of Shang Tsung that is all-powerful (especially since I'm not a fan of Titans in MK).

And...that's very much it. We'd get as faithful of an adaptation as it's possible while still improving on certain shortcomings from the source material. MK gets to be told properly, for once. Plus, we'd get a genuinely good Martial Arts show that delivers on what makes MK so great and iconic.

Those answers were pretty good, I read an earlier post of yours saying they like the fantastic four and guardians of the galaxy (forgets whose was which) and now I got more :)

1: when finishing up a crew of bad guys how do they celebrate, high-fives, fist-bumps, fornite dances, maybe a secret handshake between the both of them?

2: what are their fears/insecurities?

3: what’s their favorite foods to eat?

4: besides for fighting crime do they use their powers for fun? I can totally see Chris using his dark powers to pull a bully’s pants down and giving him a SUPER wedgie.

5: do they use “yelling your attacks” like they do in anime? For example: Jake might say: “StarBolt Blast” when fighting a villain.

6: what other hobbies does the boys have?

7: does Chris do any sports?

(Looking through my posts and finding this one. Well, forgot that was there….Whoops, my bad lol. So that makes it four heroes outside of the DCU the Duo like: Invincible, Nova (for Chris), Mr Fantastic (for Jake) and Spidey)

But anyways, onto your questions my friend ;-)

1. Mainly a fist bump and a pair of straight and backward hi fives to each other.

2. Jake’s greatest insecurity, much similar to his father, is a fear of failure and inadequacy. He dreads a notion of being imperfect which can not only make his attempt of living up to the family legacy a disgrace he’ll never recover but more importantly, can cost someone their lives, whether it be innocent civilians or especially those within his social circles. He strides to make sure he continues what his Uncle Tim instills as a crime fighter, whether wearing the traditional colors or not or if even one’s ally isn’t a traditional Batman, similar to how a firefighter or a detective needs partner, Batman, or any superhero, needs a Robin, a partner, no matter what they think. Jake fears of not living up to it which as consequence would be losing all that he cares for, from his parents to his adoptive uncles and aunts, his beloved Big Sis all the way up to his best friend.

Speaking of best friend, Chris’ insecurities and fears are far more reaching and comped than Jake’s. The kid suffers from great internal anxiety and even spells of self hatred and doubt; any sort of mishap or mistake he makes both intentionally or especially even without better knowledge would guarantee disownment, punishment and abandonment from the family he’s calling his own, worst of all Chris having no other choice but to return to his ultra strict and ever so harsh birth father General Zod. He fears one or two ways of his powers or his own personality going so wrong and ruining so many lives he’s a part of that through his own action, he no longer has anywhere to call home, no one to call friends and loved ones, and it’ll be his fault, he’ll deserve such a fate.

This wasn’t helped at all by the time Zod and his armies did attempt a massive invasion of the Earth to conquer it, with Chris’ very presence in it as being the unintended key to unlocking the Phantom Zone, allowing Zod to escape in the first place. Even though the General and his armies were ultimately defeated and banished back, the cries of those suffering underneath crushed rubble, the doubts of those who witnessed all of the truth being revealed for who Chris really was, and all the tabloid reporters immediately coming up to Chris in the most accusatory manner possible of his unintentional involvement of those actions; all of that was too much for Chris to take, causing him to run away, flying all across the world and not revealing himself for days until he finally came to the Graysons’ apartment on a stormy night and even then stayed for a few more days until finally he allowed himself to see the Kents after all of it.

And yes during that stay at their place, Mari and Jake were right by Chris’ side to make him feel comfortable until he felt ready to see his parents and brothers again. Besides all of those things, Jake is spooked out by being up close to spiders while Chris can sweat very nervously when inside large crowds for an extended period of time

3. Jake unabashedly declares both his Father’s custom Mac and Cheese with Breadcrumbs recipe and his Mother’s Zorkaberry Tarts amongst his all time favorite foods without skipping any heartbeat. In turn, Chris for the life of him cannot skip either Beef Bourguignon or Cheese Pizza with Basil, Red Crushed Pepper and Oregano if he can help it. It’s not plausible for him.

4. While Chris has certainly have strong temptation for doing that to a bully or two at his school, it’s only done in the most rare of occasions when he knows for certain his parents would not get a notice from him his school or find out (even then, Clark finds out about it inevitably). Otherwise, Chris might utilize his shadow powers and or if he’s directly passing by, a tiny whiff of his super breath in helping get a cat down from a tree without anyone noticing.

As for Jake, he has one occasion or two used a tiny starbolt from his fingertip underneath a cafeteria table to blast some mash potato onto a seventh grade Bully’s shirt without anyone noticing if said bully says one or two things too far against either Jake himself or most likely whoever his target that day happens being. This’ll likely be more subtle than his sister who’s had a small history of directly going face to face with bullies with fury in her eyes.

5. Not likely unless it’s for very special occasions and when they do combined moves, for example during a big huge battle in Bludhaven against a legion of HIVE academy villains. In that one instance, Chris carried Jake with the latter’s legs on the formers shoulders, charging directly into the villains, doing a “Star Tower Turret”, the two blasting their heat vision and starbolts front, back, across all sides both on high and low levels all around them.

6. For Chris, he takes a liking to some drawing of custom superhero outfits, a little writing stories based on his favorite shows, reading his comics, and beating ever increasingly difficult levels on his video games

While Jake meanwhile favors watching archived videos of the adventures his parents have done throughout their respective careers, all scrolling online for reality show clips, mainly the ones about restaurants and bars that might have irresponsible chefs, nasty food, mishandled kitchens or most likely all of the above, practicing his acrobatics, and tending to his zorkaberry plants on his window porch. Similar to Chris, he can take time off also in playing video games and reading his own comics

7. Mainly two major ones, swimming and like Jake, basketball. Though he can also play both Football (both American and Soccer) and Baseball, mainly for the latter playing catch with Jon.
