Whenever she says anything weird she'll claim it's British slang. It never is <3

She's reblogging the werewolf boyfriend pineapple post (iykyk) in broad daylight and she needs to be stopped.

Regina: Her photo albums bc she's not beating the sentimental allegations <3. A travel mirror (doesn't matter if there isn't a single human being around her, she will be on edge if she leaves the house without it). Cady: I'm forever a Cady stuffed lion truther. Wears her mathlete jacket around bc it makes her feel like a person. Also she owns a machete <3 a fancy one.

I can't believe I took the time to do this, but I'm from Argentina and I think here there's a considerable amount of kpop fans, especially in the big cities. Jungkook's movie is being screened in 40 cinemas across the country, in three different movie theater chains. One of them allowed me to filter by occupation percentage and all shows had an occupation of less than 50% for both days of the weekend. I checked some of the rest shows and all of them had around 10 seats taken, some other had almost all seats available. It is important to note that we're going through an economic recession and movie attendance has dropped considerably, however, the tickets for the PTD concert movie were also very expensive at the time and they were sold out hours after the release. The energy was very different as well, people were treating the screening as if it were the actual concert. It was a bit crazy. So in comparison, and considering the situation, I think the performance at the box office might not be terrible, but also not what is expected for a dude that literally kicked off his solo career at the World Cup opening ceremony. I honestly don't think this is one bit what Scooter and Bang PD expected when they planed JK's big breakout.

oh my god ok THANK YOU for asking !!! also in the time since you asked this, i have written another 1,400 words by hand. Anyways. under the cut bc this got. too long.

so this was originally for the 50k big bang project, but it was cancelled so i'm gonna go ahead and talk about it publicly now. SO.

the sparknotes summary: it is an iwaoi post-canon coming of age relationship study !! it's about iwaizumi in california and oikawa in argentina and how they navigate their friendship while long distance. it quite literally walks through every step of their journey from graduation aoba johsai to meeting again at the 2020 olympics....the sheer amount of time i'm covering is why its currently ~88,000 words LMAO.

this fic is literally my little monster. it was supposed to be 30k. then it was supposed to be 50k MAX. it is now 88 thousand words long. anyways though i'm enjoying it.

it's a slow burn get together, but it's also a break up & make up fic. the idea is that they dated in high school and then had to break up bc of the distance--but i think they're probably going to get together in the end. the middle is a whole lot of them growing up and figuring out how they can have a healthy friendship even as adults and dealing with loneliness and adulthood on their own and really coming into themselves as people by the time that they get to the olympics.

i just finished parts two and three, which is iwaizumi's years at university. here are some BANGER lines, if i do say so myself:

after oikawa's visit to california, when he has to leave again:

Oikawa smiles at him, and with that, he takes the handle of his suitcase and walks into the airport. Farther and farther and farther away, until he’s disappeared from sight and Iwaizumi is standing alone again, next to the blinking red hazard lights and the sound of other cars’ wheels on cracked concrete.  He gets back into the car. He doesn’t really want to talk to Rich right now, or any one of his other friends or teammates. He kind of just wants to be alone.  So he turns off the hazard lights and puts the car in drive and then he takes the long way home.

when iwaizumi is talking to his friends about oikawa:

“It’s not a big deal,” he tries. “We’ve both moved on. It wouldn’t have lasted while we’re in different countries anyway.”  He does not mention that Oikawa had asked him to wait. He does not mention that he is—he is waiting, and he doesn’t plan on stopping. He doesn’t plan on breaking that promise to come home.  “Ah,” Em says, subdued.

during a drunken NYE call:

Iwaizumi can hear the flinch in Oikawa’s voice. “You miss me?”  “I’m not saying it again,” Iwaizumi says, and it sounds like it’s supposed to be angry, but it just comes out tired and sad. “Of fucking course I do. You’re—” “I’m what?”  Iwaizumi takes a shuddering breath. “You’re so far away, Tooru. You’re so far away and it makes me—fuck, fuck! I shouldn’t have called. I should—” “No!” Oikawa says it instantly, desperately, cutting off any idea that Iwaizumi should go. Which is good because as much as Iwaizumi wants to escape the embarrassment of this phone call, he doesn’t actually want to hang up. He doesn’t actually want to leave Oikawa now. “Stay. Please. Stay with me.”  Iwaizumi pauses for a moment, swallowing down Oikawa’s words and turning them over in his head before saying anything else. “Okay. I’ll stay.” 

anywayssssssss!!! it's been REALLY fun to write, but it's also like. an insane labor of love. this fic was my project for nanowrimo july of LAST YEAR, and it's my project again this year. isn't that crazy. so so so much has gone into this fic its literally driving me up the wall. it haunts my every waking moment and also my dreams.

but yeah i don't have wifi where i'm living for the summer, so i've been writing everything by hand and then typing it all up when i can use a hotspot on my phone. i also have the most amount of free time in my life than i have , like, EVER had in my non-child life. so i get to spend so much time writing, which has been sooooo fun. i am begging the universe to keep me from being burnt out bc i'm genuinely having the time of my life working on this.

Be mindful of changes during ‘FACE’ release...

I’ve been seeing a lot of people overly excited of the possibilities once we get the TRACK LIST tomorrow, but we also need to be conscious that EVERYTHING that was discussed during FESTA2022 was “subject to change”.

Which also begs the question or theory that FESTA2022 was pre-recorded:

#01. Notice how they weren’t reading comments, but instead were reading pre-established questions.

#02. RM mentioned that the order of Solo-ALBUM releases & debuts would be: Jhope►Himself►JK►Suga►Jimin.

Despite the fact that we knew since MAY that Jhope would be the first to drop his album & debut in Lollapalooza. On that same kmedia article it was announced that HYBE would debut JK for the US right after Jhope’s.

#03. There were vague mentions of “possible” collabs in each other’s albums. Starting with Jimin having shown his songs between Jhope, Suga and even Jin. But neither of the 3 actually heard the same songs. And it was SUGA who brought up the topic that “Jimin’s been working on this one song...” and then proceeds to “reveal” (but was NOT confirmed) that Jimin asked him if he wanted to be featured in said song (note that not even Jhope knew about this song since Jimin showed him a different one). So in the end and after much teasing Suga said he would work with him or any of them for free. 

But what REALLY happened was:

[rest of 2022, July-onward]

A) Jhope debuted with JITB during July ► went to Lollapalooza.

B) JK did that collab with CP.

C) Tae did that one photoshoot with Vogue Korea & went to Paris Fashion Week for the Celine show along with L*sa & P*rk Bogum (but in the end it was Bogum who got the BA contract for Celine during November).

D) We started getting photos & info of Jimin working or having worked with multiple producers for his album and also hints of him doing photoshoots on his own. 

E) The Busan Concert happened, one final concert as a group of 7.

F) Jin was debuted with “The Astronaut” ► sang with Coldplay in Argentina. (Despite the fact that Jin hadn’t been planning to debut yet until AFTER his MS, but the producers apparently pressured him to finish at-least ONE song before this happened).

G) JK performed in the WC with “Dreamers” (a song that was originally a group collab/project due to their contract with HYUNDAI, but JK was sent alone instead of the whole group and BTS is credited in the song along with his name).

H) The choir that was featured & sang in the background of “Friends/Chingu” drops a surprise announcement through twitter and Instagram congratulating Jimin who was allegedly dropping a Single AHEAD of his upcoming album. But not even 12hrs later both of these announcement mysteriously disappeared.

I) RM debuts with “INDIGO” (Note: before his official debut, a Kmedia article, the same one that announced Jhope & JK’s solo debuts, said that INDIGO would feature collaborations between RM x Pharrel, as well as RM x JK, but neither of these happened).

J) Jimin is rumored to feature in a collab with Big Bang member, Taeyang, for his album in Jan.

K) Jin leaves for MS.

(I’m gonna skip the end of year awards ‘cause we’re drawing a timeline of debuts to compare with FESTA. There was also a Weverse post or conv between Taehyung & an army where Tae expressed that he scrapped his entire album/mixtape and will start working from scratch again despite him having almost finished it and Suga even told him during FESTA “Don’t be afraid just drop it and see what happens”)

[Start of 2023-onwards]

A) The collab between Jimin x Taeyang is revealed to be true & drops mid-January.

B) W.Korea Magazine drops a session of photos with Jimin.

C) Later on Jimin is also revealed as DIOR’s Global Brand Ambassador & that his first mission as GBA was to do this photoshoot with W.Korea (which was done sometime during August or so, but his contract with Dior happened as soon as BTS made their hiatus official) ► attends Paris Fashion Week where he is officially introduced as the Face of Dior.

**Note: Jhope also attends PFW as a guest to multiple brand shows.

D) A week or so later Suga is also announced/revealed as Brand Ambassador to Valentino under a special campaign (his contract with the brand had also been signed since BTS’ hiatus announcement) ► Attends Paris Fashion Week.

E) Jimin comes live twice in a span of two weeks where he gives us little snippets of what he’s been doing and working on, becoming GBA for Dior, how his album is doing. During the second time he comes online he tells us that his album would probably drop sometime in February and to look forward to it.

F) Tae starrs in a reality tv show that was secretly filmed in Mexico last year while on a “vacation trip” with wooga squad.

G) Mid-February Suga is announced to be going on a solo tour starting April.

H) Jimin’s album gets moved to March 24th.

Where am I going with all this?

That no matter WHAT happens when the track list drops tomorrow lets not feel sad or disappointment if certain things DON’T happen.

If we get collabs great, if not then also great. Its not the end of the world.

After-all, we know that PDogg was involved in the production of Jimin’s album and it is PDogg himself who has been against certain collabs between members in the past.

So lets just focus on supporting JIMIN to the fullest during his first and much anticipated solo album. Know where to buy so that it counts for charts, stream on all platforms that you can.

Obviously I had to open with this one. My favourites may change and fluctuate, but I will always have a special place in my heart for Novi Val <3 it was my most listened song of 2023 because I am a basic bitch who loves a rock ballad (does it count as a rock ballad? idk) with silly little hopeful and earnest lyrics. I also love that when they play it live they all come to the front and chill and hold each other (except at the concert I went to, Jure didn't come to the front :( ) I can only apologise to whoever was in front of me at the concert for the person I became when they played it, I know a worrying amount of the lyrics and I got a bit carried away 🙃

La Noche Sin Tí - Los Huayra

I got absolutely obsessed with this song when I was in Argentina, I don't know what else to say, I love the vibe, the vocal harmonies, and the memories it brings back :)

November Rain - Guns N' Roses

Oh, an overdramatic 80s power ballad? In my Jukebox January? You don't say 🙄 anyway, yes I know, I'm predictable, yes I know, this song is 9 minutes long, but also it's great, so 🤷🏻‍♀️

This slow, emotional song is one of my favourite by dodie, and the 3-rythm (idk what it's called in english) in the bridge(?) makes me lose my entire mind i love it so much.

Ni Panike and Ne Hvala - Masayah

Masayah is one of my favourites among the many Slovenian artists I've discovered last year! I didn't know which song to choose (I could've honestly filled this post just with songs starting with the word "no" in one language or another), so you get two for the price of one. If you're a rap or hip-hop person, go listen to Ne Hvala, and if you prefer a more groovy, jazzy song, Ni Panike might be for you :)

New Born - Muse

I'm not the resident Muse person in this tag game but I need to shout out this song anyway, it's a great song with banging instrumentals and a very cool build up.

Noche - Sofiane Pamart

I have listened to a lot of Sofiane Pamart in 2023, and I could recommend so much of his music, but let's start with his last solo single. He makes beautiful piano music, kind of romanticism-inspired, but more contemporary, and also collaborates with a lot of french rappers.

Yes, of course this one was going to make an appearance, and yes, of course it has to be the live version. I loved this song on the studio album already, but after months of losing my entire mind over every tiny clip of Kris singing it at various concerts, I'm glad we have a beautiful clean version to listen to whenever we like <3

Show Breakdowns - Moulin Rouge!

This one should be fun! The tricky thing with MR is that they specifically ask for non-musical theatre songs (Hadestown does this, too). My challenge for myself for this breakdown was trying to stay away from the pop songs already featured in the show. Some of the songs repeat since they can fit a few different characters.

Unfortunately I can't seem to find actual notes for the ranges (but given they changed keys for all of Christian's stuff when they brought in Derek, I don't think it's too important).

These characters also serve as a bit of a Greek Chorus, and ensemble members. These Four: Nini, Baby Doll, Arabia, and La Chocolat sing Lady Marmalade to open the show. Typically Baby Doll is cast with an amab actor though the character is femme presenting and La Chocolat is cast with a Black actor.

frankcore october 2k24 update!

yes this is going to be more than two weeks into november already, it's what you'd come to expect from me at this point in time. contrary to what you would expect to listen to during the Scary Month, i went either full-on pop or full-on dance music, just a very edifying, cheerful vibe overall, regardless of some exceptions here and there to break up the pace.

for the pop side you have a lot of big names: charli (wasn't in a particularly bratty mood this month, went with my favourite slow cut from her self titled), kylie minogue (she's coming to my country on august next year!! finally someone that i actually gaf about coming down here, unlikely that she's gonna play something off this era but here's hoping), grace jones (i know she's definitely important to the development of pop as a whole during the 80s but i've actually never really gotten to hear much from her, should get onto that at some point), perfume, tommy february6 (don't actually listen to that much j-pop, but i definitely should get onto that at some point as well, found that perfume track through a sample on an opium-esque trap song from this year and that tommy february6 track from a hyunjin and vivi from loona edit on twitter lmao, also did you guys know ahora te puedes marchar by luis miguel is a sort-of cover of the original song tommy's covering here cause i didn't), oklou and underscores (definitely looking forward to that oklou project if there is indeed one on the way, this one's a lot more euro-trancey than i expected from either party) and juana rozas (kinda late to the party on this one, a fair chunk of this list is me featuring stuff from a few months earlier into the year, but it's a great piece of electropop coming from argentina).

in semi-related notes, we've got a couple of indietronica tracks from broadcast (finally got around to the noise made by people and i think i actually like it even more than tender buttons, real good stuff) and lucy bedroque (wasn't familiar with him at all but the ep he dropped and this track specifically are really really good, very inviting vibe and great songwriting), some artsier, technical pop excursions (possibly influenced by the sounds of uruguayan music from the 70s and 80s?) courtesy of fievel is glauque, as well as some alt-r&b/pop rap adjacent sounds from jim legxacy (hopefully black british music drops this year? december release to ruin year-end roundups? please?).

for the more edm-centric side of the playlist, kicking off in more somber moods when compared to the rest of the tracks here, with the wave-esque as over by amnesia scanner featuring the ever-present mantra of "we're so back / it's so over" throughout its runtime, as well as dejected and melancholic soul influenced by the more organic styles of house from andrew ashong and theo parrish, and mesmerizing blends of uk dubstep with post-punk guitarwork and trip hop atmospheres from commodo.

elsewhere, things are a bit more cheerful: a track from drum and bass legend ltj bukem with more of a jazz flair than you'd usually hear from him, beach-ready, peaceful and comfy chillstep from synkro, a bunch of uk garage / pop crossovers from zsela remixed by sunship, salute and oli xl (ok this one is not very cheerful to be fair but yknow, i don't really structure these very well), and a banging grime instrumental from royal-t.

as for the rest, we've got a couple of guitar-centric outliers, with a cut off of touche amore's newest project (i've seen people be a bit lukewarm on it but idk, maybe it's just cause i haven't heard the rest of their discography but i feel like it's at least on a level close to that of stage four), a jangly and upbeat yet sarcastic and biting cut from shoegaze / indie pop band lush in ladykillers, and a track off fat dog's woof. with very propulsive electronic rhythms and very punky vocal delivery, sorta daf meets idles in a way if i'm allowed to do a cheap comparison and such. finally, there's a couple of hip-hop (or related) tracks here from babyfather (need to get onto listening to more stuff by them aside from bbf, this one's built upon a mary j blige sample and it kinda has a very trip-hop-esque vibe to it, the vocals seem to emerge from a pitch-black void in a way) and a collab between korean rapper kim ximya and french experimentalist dj simo cell, delivering a glitched-out take on industrial hip hop with some slight footwork influences.

before i wrap this up, something i haven't been doing in these writeups lately has been shouting out stuff that's not available on streaming, so here's a couple of tracks that i wanted to include on this list until i realized they're not on spotify, both of them are takes on neo-soul that are a bit under-the-radar from what i can gather, one of them having a jazzier, darker edge with some influences of trip hop in the mix and the other being a bit more based on the sound design of glitch hop, both really cool and worth the listen though: a race of angels - just begin gb & steve spacek - simply so

I was 12, the 2014 World Cup was on. i had the iphone 5c and about to go to 7th grade. i remember when we beat the netherlands on the road July 9th,2014 and the entire time in seattle we had the dream of winning the world cup UGHHHH it was beautiful 😭😭😭 I LOVE IT AND THE MUSIC FUCKING THAT ONE SAM SMITH SONG THE NOW I GOT YOU, AM I WRONG BY NICO, VINES!!! shit was amazing. i remember we were getting to vegas from behind the strip and there was we were passing by trump tower and everything and then the news hit that gotze scored that fucking cursed bitch ass goal and i was thinking like FUCK…. we’ll have another chance :/ shit was amazing though.

god fucking damnit. what i consider the happiest moment in my life so far. i was 16. scorpion came out literally the DAY we were leaving to NYC. i remember falling asleep on the way back to west orange from i think it was one of the first day we were there, maybe when we went to eat pupusas at the park and i fell asleep next to my dad listening to summer game by drake and i remember after july 4th we were walking back to the house after watching fireworks and blue tint by drake was blaring from a car. and that NYC day man…. colombia vs england. PARTIDAZO and there were so many colombians and they were all fine like my gawd???? and i remember wearing that pink and white polo shirt with black shorts and the white huraches??? the black argentina jersey???? LAWDDDD i was so cold 😭 the happiest moment in my life and what would come that year…. another story for another time :)
