Oh yeah I've seen a lot of works from @/hop-a-lot and man I love em!!! I love these comics sm and I absolutely adore this hc, something about two completely different brothers working on a same guy gives me funny brainworms

I want to believe that Scout is that one dumb sibling that opens the door does stupid dance or makes a mess and then leaves not closing the door and refuses to elaborate

Jeremy ‘Joan’ Bowyer (Misheard Joan as John once and has run with it since.)

He’s one of three siblings that don’t look like his mother at the first glance. (Matthew and Ralph)

Although most of his personality traits take after her.

Absolute mama’s boy, 100% canon because I said so.

Had deadly allergies as a child which, luckily calmed down as he grew up. (It’s nuts, used to be all types but it’s shrunk down to just cashews.)

For someone like him he understands French weirdly well, meaning he will talk shit in French and then become surprised when Spy joins in.

Can somehow understand some German words, (Only the basic and simple words) due to the amount of time he spends with Medic. (Who is constantly swearing under his breath.)

It’s scary at how quiet he can be when he want’s to be, or just him not even realising. (Freaks the other’s out when he just… appears.)

Absolute spitting image of Spy. (Scout is oblivious and Spy despises it and him so much for it.)

Learnt how to bake from his ma and is the best at it. (Out of the mercs, never gonna be better than who taught him.)

Can’t make anything else though. (Only pyro trusts Scout’s baking so the others have no clue how good he actually is.)

Automatically is the team's annoying younger brother, not arguing about this.

He always wanted a pet as a child but was never able to get one. (During ceasefires he’ll occasionally go missing to bother nearby stray animals or animal shelters, taking the dogs for runs.)

oh my god its been a while i doooooooooooo i have a list of the like. splitup my version of tf2 i have in my brain of what canon mercs are on what team bc its fun in spite of knowing canonically theyre all red i just think its fun one of my personal forever favs is like. i headcanon mr bidwell as being one of scouts older brothers (and always particularly enjoy the both scouts are twins hc) so theres an offhand one i also am partial to red pyro being a nonbinary butch lesbian . so does a handwave those are the ones i remember the besttt

one of my favorite scout hcs is that red scout and blu scout are brothers

oh real, combined with Bidwell also being their brother- he’s constantly fed up with their Endless Shenanigans and RED and BLU are constantly either fighting or working together to cause Endless Shenanigans

but at the same time, all three of them know that they have each other’s backs when they can. RED and BLU teams combining for a wave of machines Gray Mann sent ? you know for a fact that the Scouts are working together, they actually end up with very few injuries because of how much they’re protecting each other. if Bidwell’s stressed about stuff, he can always rant (without revealing classified info) to one or both of the other two. they have the kind of dynamic where one second they’re giving each other Smissmas gifts and the next they’re all fighting for god knows what reason. Bidwell wins ofc

blu spy is trans. he’s actually red spy’s younger half-brother (they have the same father) but red spy doesn’t know about it bc 1) blu spy is much younger than him 2) red spy left the family before blu spy started transitioning so red spy doesn’t even know that his sibling is a man.

medic used to have a wife but only in order to hide the fact that he’s gay (like i refuse to believe that medic isn’t gay).

most of scout’s brothers also in one way or another work for tf industries. (idk whose hc it was but i remember someone saying that bidwell was one of scout’s borthers and i love it so much)

medigun is technically a vape. i will not elaborate.

uhhh i will also talk about tma: martin has an awesome polish grandmother and that’s why he can speak some polish (i am only saying this bc i hate the fact that it was brought up exactly once and never again and uh. yeah. sorry)

I like the idea of they being half brothers, the assumption of Spy being Bidwell's dad is far more infeasible since Scout's existence was technically caused by a hit-and-run situation, so to speak

Another extra thought : Bidwell's appearance in comic have a panel that shows he somewhat has a light brown eye(??) Both Scout's parents have blue eyes in general so genetically their child hardly could be brown eyed, in case you're not aware, brown allele genes are the most dominant trait in genetics, the offspring would most likely have brown eyes when one of the parents happen to be brown eyed, thus I HC it's one of the traits that was inherited from his father side

hi!! im very new to the tf2 fandom and its super fun here already :)! im sending this ask to ask ab bidwell actually! i read the comics and oh he is absolutely adorable and a rly funny n cute side character! however, all the love he gets is making me wonder– is there any extra content im missing🤔 some super popular headcanons or lore🤔? or is he just a popular blorbo that everyone loves. thank you!<3

ahh yes I'm glad more peeps giving attention to Biddy :') I think the most well-known HC goes to Bidwell and Pauling being 'the overworked' besties, who both love guns and would get hyped over a clipboard. Another popular HC is about Bidwell being one of the Scout's brother (given that they both look somehow similar, in terms of the art style of TF2 official comic), while others like Reddy and Bidwell having a rather..unhealthy competitive relationship at first but eventually became business partners, two backbone of Mann Co. ...Though his popularity is undeniably nowhere near as the mercs (they are super popular) since he never make an appearance in any official media except the comics, I believe there are few people in the fandom still don't know or forget about him even though they have read the comic MULTIPLE times lol, despite that he's indeed a lovable side character

gosh i dont have all that much :') i've covered some before but just in case!

ouhhhhh basard... i only remember like 2 of them clearly...

the eldest brother at 37 years old is lawrence! he’s adopted and of ambiguous asian origin, though i place him to be ethnically japanese, having been left at an orphanage by his desperate parents who were to be shipped off to the internment camps in the 40s. he’s standoffish n distant. scout and him dont really interact much, but he and bidwell are closer. works odd jobs.

though tbh i havent developed him for a long time? originally he was a rich lawyer but the hc didnt really hold water

the second eldest at 36 is maurice! he is Big, huggable, punches like a truck, and is probably the nicest brother. ive never drawn him but my placeholder for him was roadhog lol. he’s a mechanic and sometimes helps around the diner! he doesn’t always start fights but in the family he ends them just by. going in between the fools who try to start one in his presence. 

i also had a pair of biker twins there and a Massive Shithead(tm) brother.... i dont recall them very well though
