sooooo I would like to know your thoughts on this Genshin AU : Ororon, due to his incomplete soul, has been abandoned by not only his parents but by his tribe as well, not even Citlali wanted him. so he was left in the wild, alone, with no way to fend for himself, until Capitano found him, too pity on him and took him in his camp. thinking Ororon was unwanted, Capitano decided to keep him as his pupil and protégé, raising him like any teacher would.
when he was needed back in Snezhnaya, he figured he couldn't leave Ororon behind so he brought him there, giving a treatment so he wouldn't be too affected by the lack of protection from the Wayob. Capitano made him meet with other harbingers, although he warned him not to trust some of them, especially Dottore, just so he could be safe, all the while implying that he could join the Fatui if he wanted to.
as the years passed by, the two of them grew an undeniable bond, with Capitano feeling a sense of pride while Ororon having the greatest loyalty towards him. but is there perhaps something more than just loyalty ? something they'd both suppressed because they fear to disappoint each others if they ever find out ? perhaps they don't just see each others like mentor and disciple but more like... a father and a son ?
Initial Thoughts: Found Family is always lovely.
Ororon being Capitano's disciple just fits so so well. Not to mention Capitano taking pity on the child due to his incomplete soul. A curse he was forced to bear for reasons unknown.
Only question for this AU... is whether Ororon gains his ancient name or not. In my Fatui!Kinich AU, Kinich still finds the ruins where Ajaw was and gained his ancient name that way. Just with a Fatui scouting party instead of a Natlan one.
So what about Ororon? I don't remember how he earned his ancient name in particular. But would he have earned it all the same under the Captain tutelage? And in that case, Ororon is faced with an unusual circumstance of having to save Natlan once he returns with the Captain to Natlan so many years later. How does Mavuika understand it if she cannot find the Bearer of Bidii?
Ororon would undoubtedly be wary of the other Fatui due to Capitano's warnings. However I suspect Dottore isn't the only one he was warned specifically about. Columbina most likely would get a keen interest in the boy due to his unique make up.
And those are my initial thoughts. AUs like this are always fun because there's so much to be discussed XD I hope this was satisfactory for now though.

These should be ready in a month or so, if all goes according to plan.

finished the Natlan 5.1 AQ (The Rainbow Destined to Burn) a couple days ago… and a few primary notes
Rest in peace, Chuychu. You met your fate honorably, and your sacrifice made the Ode of Resurrection possible. You were always my favorite character of the Natlan AQ (I even have a post loaded up in my drafts about it that I never got to posting) and it is in your honor that I will pull Chasca. 😭😭😭 poor Chuychu… I was so excited to see you again…
Also, this solidified it. I’m gonna keep a separate world where I only do the AQ up through Inazuma, just so I can free them. Then… I’ll preserve Chuychu, Rukkhadevata, the Nahida I loved, and so many others. I’ll preserve the world I loved so much. I’m sorry, Natlan. I’m sorry, Furina. I’m sorry, Nahida. But I loved that world so much.
Ah, and I loved how they did the war!!! Now THIS is how you handle the chaos, the catastrophe of the war. Finally, I really appreciate Natlan’s landscape design. Imagine if Natlan had been a less playful, more centralized nation: the seriousness of the war and the Abyssal corruption wouldn’t have been so striking in, say, Inazuma, or even the empty expanses of mountainous forest and arid desert within Sumeru. (That said uh we should’ve been warned about this quest being exceptionally long I had not planned to sit and game for 4 hours straight.)
Of the six heroes, Ororon is a surprise favorite. Originally I wanted the Masters of the Night-Wind Hero to be Citlali, since she’s so pretty, but I’m ultimately really glad it’s Ororon. I always liked his voice, but didn’t really fall in love with his personality til halfway through the quest. I loved the scene where he met the ancient hero who originated their Ancient Name, “Bidii”. It reads similar to the Arabic for “to want”, too, which surprised me, but makes its meaning of “devotion” even more heartfelt. In particular, I love how Ororon is a fairly unique case of Natlan’s relentless reinforcement of the idea that every person in Natlan wants to be a hero, deep down. He tried to accept a humble life like everyone told him to, but at the end of the day, his story was meant for more and wasn’t meant to end yet. He should be friends with Kachina, I think, they’d be great.
Ah, and I LOVED everything about Xilonen’s Ancient Name. The bestowing of “Barakah”, the bearer of an ancient blessing… how satisfying and lovely. And on top of that, the scene where Chasca received her understanding of what it meant to be one of the six, the hero hailing from the Flower-Feather Clan? Ah! Joy upon joy.
I think I feel fairly certain now of where Mavuika will fall on my list of Archon favorites. She’s a perfect sun - a trueborn leader who has sacrificed time and time again and knows exactly how to use those at her disposal to lead her team to victory. She knows how to give purpose to their mission, and she’s fully committed. She cares for all the people of Natlan, and she mourns every loss. Yet she’s still capable of understanding what’s worth a sacrifice, and what isn’t.
She’s a sun, and my favorite celestial body has long been the moon, not the sun. Mavuika is a bit too distant, a bit too flawless, to ever be a blorbo of mine. I respect her deeply and I do like her, but she will not be reaching even the heights that Nahida achieved during her own AQ. That said, I also reached somewhat of a resolution on Nahida’s “death of memory” from 3.2’s AQ. I finally was able to accept that… she’s not really a favorite anymore, she doesn’t spark the same joy as she did during that AQ, and that her sacrifice of her memory of Rukkhadevata did cut out a lot of what shot her so high for me. So, Mavuika’s right in the middle, a bit behind or on par with Nahida, who is no longer in my top 10 Genshin characters.
Mavuika actually reminds me a lot of what I expected to feel when witnessing Morax. Yknow how all the playables have a little epitaph, like “Endless Solo of Solitude” Furina? I’m excited for Mavuika. Something with history, something with the sun. She’s a living piece of history, after all, and holds the position of the sun itself. She should be the god of history imo considering all she’s sacrificed to protect it and from where she came.
I was shocked to learn that Xilonen will definitely be dead by the end of the quest, once she’s forged the Traveller’s Ancient Name. What a cruel order Mavuika had to give, and she did not even do so in person; she sent the Traveller to do it. But I’m also confused. How has Xilonen previously forged Ancient Names, if to do so requires the sacrifice of a life? And why forge an Ancient Name for the Traveller, sacrificing Xilonen in the process, if it’s only wanted so Mavuika can survive her encounter with the Abyss?
I’m sure Mavuika herself will survive the Archon Quest in the end. With all Citlali’s talk of altering her fate, I’m sure Citlali will succeed.
I’m intrigued by this concept of the difference between fate and death being that death is “a rule”, or a law, something that must be followed/obeyed, whereas fate is a description of the process. Another indicator Zhongli will be back in the end, as the God of Contracts (with the death of the God of Law and Justice, Focalors).
Did we know that the Abyssal Royal was once a Royal figure of Khaenri’ah, by the way? What even is going on. Are Khaenri’ah and the Abyss the same, or not? Has Khaenri’ah effectively been eaten/subsumed by the Abyss? Is that the fate that awaits Natlan in the (impossible) event that it loses the war against the Abyss? Is that why every figure we’ve seen come in contact with the Abyss is twisted? Will we the Traveller need to rescue+purify the Abyssal Royal from/of the Abyss?
Can Khaenri’ah still be saved, even now?
(The GLIMPSE WE GOT AT THE FALSE SKY OH MY GOD)
(CONFIRMATION OF WHAT THE SEELIES ONCE WERE OMGGGG)

well about that I was thinking that despite being abandoned by his tribe he would still be willing to save his homeland, as it was a wish that Capitano had ever since he was accepted by Ayizu, the chief of the Masters of the Night Wind at the time of the Cataclysm, knowing how Ororon admires him it's only fair he'd wish the same thing. the plan would still be the same, Ororon would still be possessed by Guthred to then resist and fight for his life so he could still take part in the safety of Natlan, and since Bidii means "devotion" it would be fair that he'd earn his ancient name, as he's devoted to not only Capitano but also Natlan itself.
I hope I am clear enough about that, thank you for your response !
