*Blind murder solved by Akhnoor Police* *Husband, accomplice arrested for killing wife* On 26.03.2022, an information was received that one un-identified female dead body is lying at Bhagwana Chak in suspicious circumstances. Since the circumstances leading to her death were suspicious, therefore, to ascertain the cause of her death an inquest proceeding u/s 174 Cr.PC was initiated at PP Jourian under IC PP. During the course of enquiry, FSL team and dog squad team were called on spot. Deceased was identified as Daleep Kumari W/O Basant Shaw R/O Chhattisgarh A/P Baba Talab, Kanachak. Based on technical inputs and statements of experts, it come to fore that deceased had died due to strangulation. Accordingly the inquest was converted into case FIR No. 85/2022 u/s 302 IPC at P/S Akhnoor under *SHO Hilal Azhar* . On further investigation, based on technical inputs and statements of relatives, it came to fore that deceased was married to one Basant Sahu S/o Punni Ram Sahu R/O Chattisgarh A/P Bawa Talab, Kanachak since 7/8 month ago. However there was matrimonial dispute going on between the deceased and her husband. The husband was rounded up who confessed that he alongwith his friend Dinesh Sahu S/o Bhagirath Sahu R/o Chattisgarh planned to kill his wife due to their matrimonial dispute and on 25.03.2022, the accused and his friend alongwith the deceased went to Bhagwana Chak at Jourian where they strangulated her and left the body behind. Accordingly both the accused were arrested. Based on disclosure of accused and confessions before the magistrate besides pointing out memo, some seizures were also made by Police corroborating the incident. Chairman BDC Neha Rajput also highlighted major problems being faced by the Public in the Block. Sub Divisional Magistrate gave a patient hearing to all the Sarpanches and assured them that their genuine grievance will be resolved soon.
