I'm always really curious what people's reasoning is with who they design their guardian after because its one of my favorite things to figure out.

-Orroros' can't look like anyone they actually know or remember since they would immediately know its a trick. Instead Daisy is a very pretty drow that looks like an amalgamation of pretty much every trait they ever developed an affinity for during their childhood in the Feywild.

-Melkior's looks like an idealized version of one of his "uncles", one of the caretakers at the foster home he grew up in who he had a baby crush on (with the addition of tentacle tattoos around his eyes. His subconscious trying to remind him what this all is).

-Zain, my Wyllmancing wizard, has a guardian who looks like an uncanny valley version of his older sister who he accidentally killed seconds before being abducted. Zain's psionic boundaries aren't great so he genuinely isn't quite sure if he's being haunted or if they're guilt hallucinations or what. Either way it makes him very susceptible

-Aylward's looks like the guard who found her in the wreckage of her family home. The only one not immediately frightened of her.

-Emeris' looks like a younger version of Duke Stelmane. This isn't at all deeply fucked up of the Emperor

After asking around on discord and here. I was told to focus on my Dark Urge character; Emery Calloway. An oath of devotion paladin and bonafide himbo.

BG3 is all I can think about lately, despite not being able to play it lmao anyway who wants to talk about our bg3 ocs

Stuff I literally just came up with for my oc, Emery, under the cut

• Tiefling dad, human mom (cutesy mutual pining cashier/regular customer thing)

• Dhampir stuff is from dad's side, generations back. At this point no one remembers its even there

• Dhampir & Mortal/Tiefling

• Mortal/Tiefling blood caused Dhampir abilities to go dormant

• Vampiric abilities only "activate" if humanoid blood (other than one's own) is consumed

• Sun sensitivity - easily sunburnt and unable to see well in bright light

• Can eat food or drink blood, either will keep him going (though as he ages he will become more reliant on blood to keep himself feeling healthy, eventually abandoning food altogether, lengthening his lifespan in the process)

• Consuming blood will temporarily increase healing speed

• Does need sleep, but nowhere near as much (3-4 hours/night)

• Picks up a bunch of odd hobbies/ways to kill time because of it

• The rest of the party has repeatedly had to tell Emery and Astarion to stfu while everyone is trying to sleep

• It's not their fault they're bored and can't stop play fighting 🤷‍♂️

• Accidentally activated his Dhampir abilities by ingesting Astarion's blood (Astarion is painfully smug about that)

• Doesn't drink blood often, usually to heal himself/bully Astarion (he and Gale are the only two Emery will drink from. They're both painfully smug about that)

• Half Tiefling = tail, slightly pointed ears, small horns (Dhampir abilities give him slight fangs once activated)

• He's shy about his horns and gets all blushy if someone calls them cute

• Tends to hold onto his tail when he's feeling shy/flustered

• While his horns are small, they are curved in a way that makes Emery think of boars and how sometimes their tusks will grow and stab back into their skulls. He tries not to think about that (he's failing)

• He's a bit neurotic about keeping track of how long they are - at least one of his journals is dedicated to morning-and-night horn measurements (They haven't grown.... right? The numbers say they haven't....but....I swear my right horn feels longer...)

• Has seriously considered filing his horns down, like one would their nails. Just in case

• Is godawful at horn care. Please help him

• Astarion loves Emery's horns (and would never let him file them down, holy shit dude no) but mostly he likes grabbing them to mess with him.

• And making jokes about the convenient handles on his head

• Emery tends to wrap his tail around the legs of people he likes/ trusts

• His tail is almost always wrapped around Astarion or Gale's legs

• Or accidentally (and painfully) tangled with Karlach's tail because they both got too excited about something again

• Both Astarion and Gale have trouble keeping their hands off of Emery's tail

• The party could be in the middle of an intense negotiation with someone, and fuckin Gale's got his hand wrapped in the end of Emery's tail, absent-mindedly swinging it lightly back and forth

• Or Emery and Astarion are threatening/bullying someone - one of Astarion's hands is holding onto the very end of Emery's tail. He's just. Holding it. Gesturing lightly with it. And Emery's just. Letting him. While they're sending someone to the shadow realm with vicious mockery
