"I did!" Jonah cried: aloud, because the Eye loved John better and wouldn't let him inject images into his mind any more. "My mother was driven off a cliff by a pack of wild archivists."

John replied with the searing image of Jonah Magnus's mother dying peacefully, in her sleep, attended by servants, at the age of 92.

"Shut up," Jonah snapped.

B.F.F.N.s (Best Friends For Now) || with Wheein

The day is unseasonably warm but the breeze is just chilly enough to send a shiver down Yako’s back. The girl curses the cool autumn air; it had been warm in her apartment but being outside for a little bit had proved just cold enough to warrant a sweater. It just so happens that Yako doesn’t have a sweater on hand, and standing in the sun only does so much to keep her warm

Instead of heading back to her apartment to get a sweater (because really, she has much better things to do), Yako looks into the shops she passes on the street to see if any have warm drinks or sunny indoor spots to curl up in away from the chill autumn breeze. The first promising thing she spots is a beam of sunshine inside of a flower shop, just big enough for a much smaller Yako. Good think she has a solution for that particular problem.

The place where a full-sized Yako had stood only a moment before is now occupied by a calico kitten, looking far too proud of itself as it waltzes into the shop and curls up beside the herb display in a lovely little beam of sunshine. It’s warm and there’s no more moving air, not to mention that the demigoddess now has a layer of fur on. She decides to take a short nap there and warm up before moving on. Shopping could wait.

OBSESSED with Season 4 Jon’s character arc bc the audience is like “oh shit is he gonna go full monster and lose himself to the eye??” and he’s like “ah I understand your concern but no I’m too busy being hopelessly in love”. Honestly king shit

*clears throat* Melanie is so awful and mean I hate her

(puts hand over my chest) ET TU TAIEY?? Ohhh how betrayal from a friend stings!

Anyway, Melanie is mean and awful, absolutely. Here are 5 times she was mean and awful in a funny way + one time she was not awful at all.

1: Told Georgie her merch looked like shit.

Straight up mocked every single item on Georgie's online store. Did a whole impromptu 30 minute roast. Said the icon looked like it was designed by "that one guy with the beanie in your online digital art class." Georgie did not ask.

Unfortunately, this made Georgie more attracted to her.

2: Threw a guy's cigarette out of the car after the Sarah Baldwin incident.

She didn't think he was a monster or anything. Didn't even get reminded of Sarah and have a trauma reaction. Toby, the guy they were collabing with, smoked for the first 30 minutes of their drive without her or anyone else saying anything.

Then he pulled another one out. Melanie snatched it and threw it out window.

Toby glared. " I would have--You could have just asked me to stop?"

"Yeah I could have."

They stared at each other for 15 seconds. Toby looked away first.

3: Threw Martin's Tea Away

See, Martin knew he'd been a bit cold to her at first because he didn't want anyone else working there. He really thought he'd try to be nice and build bridges, though? They were all in this together, after all.

"I can get you milk or sugar if you prefer it that way!" he told her as he handed it to her.

She poured it into a plant while maintaining eye contact.

4: Poisoned every single pastry brought into the Magnus Archives for a whole month.

Specifically, found out he had a deathly allergy that wouldn't affect anyone else in the institute, and contaminated all food at the Institute with that specific substance.

It was after her attempted poisoning and her attempted stabbing of Elias, so she knew he'd know. It was also after he'd traumatized her with images of her father's death. She knew it wouldn't get him, but that wasn't the point.

The point was to make him look at all of those cakes and realize he couldn't eat a single bite.

He almost lost his control and called a hit on her before she marked Jon.

5: Beat the shit out of Jon's things while he was in a coma.

"What on earth?" Jon asked when he sorted through the bag of broken items Basira had stashed away.

"Yeah we thought you were gone for good so we used them for the scream room," Basira said.

"The what?"

"The scream room," Basira explained, straight-facedly. "We set it up for Melanie. She just went after your things anyway so we just tossed them in the room and let her at 'em."

Jon stared.

"She needs lots of enrichment these days," Basira said.

"You're pulling one over on me. There is no way--"

Jon was interrupted by a muffled scream, and the sound of Melanie breaking dishes in another room.

+1: Held Arun while he was having another breakdown.

God, she hated the guy. He's like all of the most annoying traits of Jon and Martin rolled into one unpleasant package. Smug, simpering, condescending to everyone else, and he wrote poetry to top it all off.

But also, he was a sobbing wreck, whimpering and terrified that everyone was going to abandon him. And in that moment all she cared about was that he was a person, and that he didn't deserve to suffer, for all his many faults. And for the love of all that was holy she'd give anything, anything, to minimize anyone's suffering in this hell.

So she gripped him by the shoulders, and made sure he knew she was there.

"It's going to be okay," she said. "It's all going to be okay."

😆 Yeah. When I say 'dumb', what I actually mean is very Eye.

#okay but yeah I think a lot of Jon's missteps come from him not knowing 1) how to maintain and build allyships #and 2) now knowing how and when to use the ones he has #like sending martin and tim away to deal with Not!Sasha himself instead of like #telling them #so he could have 2 people next to him when he broke the table #and thus would have backup when shit hit the fan

or at least more people for her to chase ☺

Every one keeps making jokes about how dumb it was from Jon to shake Jude’s hand and how he should have expected to get burn but what else could he do?

You can hear how hesitant he is to agree he knows it’s a trick but also he doesn’t see any other option to get what he want.

Because, you know, Jude insisted that she will give Jon location of Mike Crew only if he shakes her hand. If he refused and call her out she would probably shrug and walk away not telling him what he wanted.

You think if Sasha was the Archivist she wouldn’t shake her hand to get the information? She literally went to the location Michael told her because it was only way to get information about a thread they were all facing she would definitely shake Jude’s hand as well.
