neverland had been busy, or at least peter and the lost boys had been.  their presence along the brush had virtually become nonexistent, their minds and bodies going along with the most recent game of the ruler.  even peter himself couldn’t deny how much time the boys had spent working.  free spirit was limited for him recently, and even then it hardly lasted as long as he’d like it to.  he had no time to explore the island he could navigate blind-- no time to lounge by his thinking tree and actually ponder anything he had been doing.  

so what does he do the moment his hands are no longer bound by  the scheme he sparked?  of course, he seeks his mermaid. there was no greater joy to peter than that girl, but he wouldn’t ever speak those thoughts aloud.  even as his gaze discovered her, a sudden leap in his chest, peter bit his tongue to avoid the facts that he had already found to be true.  instead, he watches quietly, observing her actions.  enjoying the sight of her though when his tongue does finally articulate a greeting, it comes off as if he were just simply amused.

               “i see you’re enjoying yourself, little guppy.”

Ara froze for a moment, processing the unusual request. "Uh, okay. If you insist." Hey, she would never give up an open invitation to hit one of the Lost Boys, after all.

Balling her petite hand into a fist, she pulled her arm back and, as requested, punched Rufio in the face as hard as she possibly could. Which really was not that hard, to be honest. ”Ow! I think that hurt me more than it hurt you!”

A quiet pause  came as Rufio lifted a hand to his  chin, shifting his jaw back and forth as if testing it for  injury before allowing himself to dissolve into a short  peel of raucous laughter. 

          “So it is true, then.” 

          “There is some insult in telling              one that  he hits  like a  girl.”

He has decided that he much rather be in the company of the half-mermaid girl than the boys roaming the woods of Neverland.  They were, perhaps, too wild for him to imagine finding himself joyous at their presence.  It truly wasn't a surprise for him to be near the lagoon, ignoring the remarks from any other mermaid that stayed to the water.  Occasionally, he'd toss in nice little shells that had washed up in the sand.  "Don't believe I fancy that lot much," He muses, flipping a flatter shell in his hand, allowing his fingers to trail the carvings without thought.

Peter found himself mesmerized by the flying beetle that danced across the darkened sky, playing around the branches of the trees and lighting the shadows with luminescent blues, greens, and yellows.  There was a distinct sound of his lost ones hooting far away, a noise that seemed only of echos from the bark of tree.  It made him want to join in the fun, and before he knew it, a smirk began to grow upon his lips.  Without thought, his feet began moving him in the direction of the location in which he would find his little guppy; by the lagoon of the creatures most foul, where the light from the fireflies glistened from the surface of the rippling water.  It didn't take very long for his strides to get him to the area, and for only a moment his breath was stolen by the vision of the swarming lightning bugs.  Shaking his head, he searched briefly for the one he desired to speak with until he saw her, and before he could process what he was possibly doing, he leaned over to look at her face.  "Care to play a game with me?" The question usually meant mischief and sinister intentions, yet the tone that dripped from his tongue was only one of childish desire for fun.

Killian looks at the girl, shifting his gaze over her as casually as he can manage-- which, he is aware he can pull the act off quite well.  He is simply curious of the creatures that haunt the deepest waters.  "So mermaids are far from pleasant, as they say," He speaks, an inquiring hint held within the voice.  He hears tell that she is a mermaid who is free to walk on land-- but she seems nice, a fact that he has no troubles acknowledging.  Even if mermaids were murderous creatures, he can  acknowledge that she seems far from the nature that the species has been cursed with.
