Setting: (A crowded college campus during one of the nicest weather days of the early spring. A table sits in the middle of the busy crowd)

Adam: (To himself) Of all days and places, why would I ever sit in the loudest spot-on campus to study for these finals?

Andrew: (Meeting Adam to work on a project) Hey Adam! We finally have some sun for once! Were you able to work on the project yet?

Adam: No, I have not yet. We picked the busiest spot-on campus today to work on this! We still have a week until the deadline. Should we just take in the sights and sounds for a bit?

Andrew: That sounds great! We don’t get many days like these, and I think we should take advantage of the weather and campus!

(Enter a group of their classmates discussing their project as they walk aby)

Susan: Ugh, this project is so difficult and days like today make it so hard to focus on getting it done!

Matt: I agree. At least we are halfway done with the project so it will be ok if we take a break and enjoy the weather on Beury Beach!

(Adam and Andrew overhear the conversation and start to question if they should start working on the project rather than enjoy the weather on campus)

Adam: Andrew, we have not even started and some of the groups are already halfway done! I’m starting to think we need to move to the library and focus on getting this done. What do you think?

Andrew: I know I heard that too and now I am getting stressed out. However, the weather today is beautiful, and we are seniors. If we promise to focus on the project during the rainy days in the week, I think we will be able to get this done on time!

Adam: You know what, you are right. I trust that we will be able to get this done and wont have to sacrifice such a nice day outside!

(A group of friends pass Adam and Andrew as they are conversing about getting their project done)

Group: Guys, we are headed to the city you guys should join us!

(Adam and Andrew stand up, look at each other with no guilt, and join their group of friends to experience the city on a beautiful Thursday evening).

Amy: I’m Amy. What major are you? 

Olivia: I'm actually a political science major, what about you? 

Amy: I'm in actuarial sciences. How do you like the class? I hate how he hasn’t graded the midterm yet. 

Olivia: Oh my god I know, I'm so anxious to get my grade back. It doesn’t help that he hasn’t put in the essay either. 

Amy: No its actually so annoying, we have like three grades in and we’re halfway through the semester! 

Olivia: I know, it's so annoying. 

Cashier: (Walks to counter) Amy! 

Amy: Oh that’s me, it was nice meeting you! 

Olivia: For sure, what's your snap?

An early morning at Temple University. A lot has changed since I moved here in 2017, like the fall of Peabody and the rise of Charles Library & the bookbot. I only completed a single semester. Lots of different sites to see accross campus, with the original baptist temple of the university's namesake constructed in 1889, funky midcentury mod architecture like Beury Hall built in 1964 and Paley Library built in '63, and the recent developments of new agey swooping steel & glass like Charles and the recent remodeling of Anderson Hall.

Paley is featured in the far background of the first photo. It is catty-corner to the brand new library. The tension is palpable. I am unsure as to whether Temple has demolition plans, but my guess is that the pandemic disrupted any progress. It certainly will be a huge undertaking. For now, the tables on the east side of Paley remains my favorite place to eat a Richie's breakfast wrap!
