Setting: (A crowded college campus during one of the nicest weather days of the early spring. A table sits in the middle of the busy crowd)

Adam: (To himself) Of all days and places, why would I ever sit in the loudest spot-on campus to study for these finals?

Andrew: (Meeting Adam to work on a project) Hey Adam! We finally have some sun for once! Were you able to work on the project yet?

Adam: No, I have not yet. We picked the busiest spot-on campus today to work on this! We still have a week until the deadline. Should we just take in the sights and sounds for a bit?

Andrew: That sounds great! We don’t get many days like these, and I think we should take advantage of the weather and campus!

(Enter a group of their classmates discussing their project as they walk aby)

Susan: Ugh, this project is so difficult and days like today make it so hard to focus on getting it done!

Matt: I agree. At least we are halfway done with the project so it will be ok if we take a break and enjoy the weather on Beury Beach!

(Adam and Andrew overhear the conversation and start to question if they should start working on the project rather than enjoy the weather on campus)

Adam: Andrew, we have not even started and some of the groups are already halfway done! I’m starting to think we need to move to the library and focus on getting this done. What do you think?

Andrew: I know I heard that too and now I am getting stressed out. However, the weather today is beautiful, and we are seniors. If we promise to focus on the project during the rainy days in the week, I think we will be able to get this done on time!

Adam: You know what, you are right. I trust that we will be able to get this done and wont have to sacrifice such a nice day outside!

(A group of friends pass Adam and Andrew as they are conversing about getting their project done)

Group: Guys, we are headed to the city you guys should join us!

(Adam and Andrew stand up, look at each other with no guilt, and join their group of friends to experience the city on a beautiful Thursday evening).

Amy: (Walks out of Richie's Café, sees Person B) Wait, aren't you in my IH class? 

Olivia: Yeah, you sit in the back right? 

Amy: Yeah I'm the seat near the window. 

Olivia: Oh cool, I’m Olivia. 

Amy: I’m Amy. What major are you? 

Olivia: I'm actually a political science major, what about you? 

Amy: I'm in actuarial sciences. How do you like the class? I hate how he hasn’t graded the midterm yet. 

Olivia: Oh my god I know, I'm so anxious to get my grade back. It doesn’t help that he hasn’t put in the essay either. 

Amy: No its actually so annoying, we have like three grades in and we’re halfway through the semester! 

Olivia: I know, it's so annoying. 

Cashier: (Walks to counter) Amy! 

Amy: Oh that’s me, it was nice meeting you! 

Olivia: For sure, what's your snap? 

Amy: Oh hold on. (Shows snapcode, Olivia scans it and adds Amy) 

Olivia: Perfect, it was nice to meet you! 

Amy: Bye! (Walks out the door of Richie’s Café) 

Amy: (Walks towards Beury Beach and sits down in the grass) 

Amy: (Applies sunscreen to her arms and watches people pass by)

Antonino Genovese vince GialloLuna NeroNotte 2022

Martedì 13 dicembre nella sala D’Attorre di Casa Melandri, in via Ponte Marino 1, a Ravenna, Antonino Genovese, lo scrittore di Barcellona Pozzo di Gotto, trionfa per il secondo anno consecutivo al prestigioso premio letterario GialloLuna NeroNotte bandito dall’ass.ne Pa.Gi.Ne., presieduta da Nevio Galeati. Genovese quest’anno vince la sezione romanzi inediti con l’opera “Il volo della civetta” e si piazza davanti agli altri due finalisti: “L’ultima indagine” di Luca Notarianni e “L’ultimo battito” di Alessio Chiadini Beuri.

Genovese è stato premiato da Nevio Galeati e Vania Rivalta, editor della casa editrice Clown Bianco edizioni. La motivazione della giuria: “un quadro storico ben delineato, personaggi ben caratterizzati e un’indagine impeccabile”.

L’opera vincitrice sarà pubblicata entro il 2023 da Clown Bianco Edizioni, partner dell’iniziativa, una casa editrice di nicchia nel panorama letterario italiano.

il romanzo di Genovese è ambientato nel comprensorio tra Barcellona pozzo di gotto, Milazzo e Venetico superiore, in particolare pone l’attenzione su un quadro custodito nella chiesa di Venetico: Il volto santo. A indagare questa volta ci sarà il maresciallo Giacomo Vella, soprannominato l’Islamico, personaggio apparso in un racconto sul Giallo Mondadori nel luglio 2022.
