To summarize: It might take him a while to put the pieces together and actually confess his feelings for you - but once he does he spends every day letting you know how much you mean to him.

Last TV show: Finally finished Better Call Saul...Might be one of my new favorite shows of all time! It's better than Breaking Bad. I also saw the One piece fan letter special...Wish all the episodes could have an animation budget like that!

Hey! Curious if you're currently into any great shows. If so, mind sharing your recommendations? Always on the lookout for some good TV suggestions!

I imagine you've seen everything I have. I spend more time gaming. Not into anything great at the moment, but I can dig deep and see if I can remember what shows I've watched since Hannibal aired and give my opinions. I binge TV series with my mom who is in her 80's and has Parkinson's and macular degeneration and can't really do activities or read anymore, so I rewatched some old ones with her here largely to torture her with them, so they'll be in here also.

S-Tier (Winners)

My Brilliant Friend. Probably the best thing I've watched since Hannibal. If S4 is out I haven't seen it yet, no spoilers.

Better Call Saul. Possibly tied with My Beautiful Friend. Better than Breaking Bad. Much better ending. So good, no complaints. Nailed the ending. Did I mention the ending?

A-Tier (Runners-up)

Black Sails: God, there were some parts of this that were so gratuitous and tedious, especially early on, and I hated Eleanor Guthrie and not in the kind of way that means good things for a show. Some of the dialogue was just really on the nose too. This sounds like a lot of complaints, but the things it did well, it did SO WELL that it really does make up for the negatives. The acting was sooooo good and the Flint and Silver dynamic was AMAZING and the show looked great, and over all that, it really had something thoughtful to say, and that stays with you when it's over.

Stranger Things: Some parts of this show hit better than others, but I'm squarely in the bullseye of the target audience and get the vast majority of the references and nostalgia, and I love David Harbour. I appreciate their exploration of various types of horror, attempting a new style each season, and I like the charm and humor and cheese, and it's a show that knows its voice and its tone and commits fully to those things. It's trying to be a fun show and it is, and it wants to deal with real fears and real grief, and it does.

The Handmaid's Tale: Speaking of shows that are committed to their tone, this one definitely is that. It's too heavy and relentless for most people, I think, but I don't mind that at all. Parts of it do drag, but it has a lot of the same qualities (for good or bad) as Black Sails: great acting, powerful character dynamics, the things that it does well it does so well it makes up for the shortcomings, imo.

Breaking Bad: Famous show, not much to say here. Rewatched it recently and don't think it's as good as Better Call Saul, so I put it here.

B-Tier (Can't complain but will anyway)

Good Omens: Can't get into it, can't find anything particularly wrong with it. I'm into the ship. I guffaw out loud while watching it yet am thoroughly bored most of the time. Love Michael Sheen and David Tennant on screen together. I know the show can't be that all the time but I wish it was. Aziraphale ftw. I feel like people missed the point of the ending of the last season.

Mad Men: Show could give Seinfeld a run for its money in terms of being about nothing, but definitely had its charm. Watched it with my mom so her nostalgia and appreciation for how historically authentic it felt went a long way. Good performances. God, it could be boring sometimes though.

Vikings: This one was a lot like Black Sails for me. They had a bit of a struggle for a season or two but once going, they really got going. Many great acting performances and characters. Loved Ecbert and Ivar especially. Didn't have Toby Stephens and Luke Arnold, so you know...can't quite make that tier. And didn't have as much to say, or didn't say it as well, and it doesn't stay with you.

micah was born into wealth and prestige, the kind that, as an only child, he just sort of had to live up to. his parents divorced when he was young and was mainly raised by his mother.

micah thought the world of saul weissberg, though, and considered him a hero in many regards. each time he came to visit (sporadic as these visits might be) was like a holiday in itself, though he never stayed long and always had something urgent to take care of. more urgent than spending time with his son, apparently, but for a while, these glimpses of his father just made them all the more special.

until he grew older, and at some point beyond the tenth birthday party no-show and the thousandth missed call, micah no longer considered his father’s flakiness special but more irresponsible.

it was lonely to be a weissberg (perhaps this is why his father had married twice more after his mother), a malady that, fortunately, was not unique to a single human being on the planet, but it sure did feel like it. micah always had trouble relating to his peers, found that his interests were too niche for kids his age. despite his family’s status, he was not spared from the bullying and the scathing remarks about his appearance: he was frequently likened to a certain french mouse with a penchant for the culinary arts and by the time he was in eighth grade, he was already standing at six feet but barely had any meat on his bones.

his humor was also dark and dry and grotesque, though humor was a tool that he often used to self-medicate with. in the golden age of the internet, this meant youtube videos and blog posts that were never meant to be seen by kids at school but had somehow become lunchtime entertainment, for better or worse.

you’re a real comedian, his mother had said to him in the car after teachers and several parents at a pta meeting had raised concerns regarding her son’s alarming behavior online and how this was affecting the other kids. growing pains was all she’d attributed it to, and had too much pride to consider the recommendation that micah speak to a professional to help cope.

it was a suspiciously broken leg after a particularly rough day at school (according to micah’s best friend, who also suggested that it was decidedly not from falling down the stairs but refused to say more) that had prompted his mother to have him see a therapist, who referred him to a psychiatrist, who had put the boy on adderall and SSRIs at sixteen. his mother wasn’t one to judge, not with her own prescription of xanax in the medicine cabinet.

it helped him get through the rest of high school, though. the youtube videos and the blog posts also stopped the second he got into college, where he found more like-minded company, created new memories, experimented with relationships and substances (he'd once even bought coke from the same dealer his father used to back in the day after the guy recognized his last name). he was brought out of his shell and got involved in more extracurriculars, his favorite one being the humor publication on campus where he eventually became editor-in-chief.

graduating with a bachelor’s degree in english, however, was like arriving at a cul-de-sac, not much different from the street he’d grown up in, and there was no other way but to turn back around. his accomplishments in college didn’t seem to matter in the real world — who cares about a college humor magazine, anyway?

ironically, it was during a depressive episode that he decided he would go to law school. which was fitting, considering he associated the field with his father, who was yet another depressing thought. while a career in comedy was something he kept in the back of his mind, he considered being a lawyer as another form of standup. besides, he thought this might make him more relevant to his father. maybe, if he was a lawyer, the man would no longer take forever to return his calls.

so off to law school he went, as many weissberg men did before him. it was a miserable three years that, on what was supposed to be his last two semesters, pushed this particular weissberg to the brink of sanity and had a rather public meltdown on campus.

the time he took off was supposed to be a break, a recovery period. however, his spontaneous decision to go backpacking across europe and asia for a year had him effectively withdrawing from the institution.

the clarity this trip afforded him upon his return to new york allowed him to pursue that career as a standup comedian he’d always been dreaming of. he started posting videos on his old youtube page again, made content on social media, performed at open mics, networked with a bunch of other comedians he’d perform at bars with until he was getting paid to do the kind of work he was passionate about.

but it wasn’t going to be enough, not for a while, and he didn’t know how long this could sustain him, especially with his mother's passive aggressive reminders that he could do much better. he wasn’t getting any gigs for a while, which he later discovered was on purpose after he was confronted by the other comedians that he just wasn’t up to par with the lineup they put on.

this sent him into another downward spiral, a reckless cross-country bender that landed him in the ER with a broken arm. returning to his childhood home with his tail tucked between his legs, he finally followed his parents’ advice to finish law school (it was nice to see them both agreeing on something for once) and intern for his father in his law firm in illinois.

micah is a grandma in a 29-year old man's body. he enjoys old music and loves craftsy, nature-y hobbies like knitting, crocheting, embroidering, gardening, hiking, and bird-watching. he also loves all things vintage; most of his clothes are thrifted and he makes 'real' mixtapes with a tape deck.

he went under the online moniker 'doczeem' when he first started posting comedy videos on youtube in high school as his friends used to call him 'ZM'. when doing standup, he uses the stage name zm weissberg.

his 'comedy claims' are john mulaney and nick kroll, but more deadpan and awkward. he's still finding his voice tbh.

first friend , besides his father (the charming mr. saul weissberg) and his father's most recent ex-wife, thalia, micah doesn't really know anyone in blue harbor. upon first meeting, this person would've known that micah needed help getting around and has since then become micah's unofficial tour guide around town.

father's clients , since starting an internship at his father's firm, saul weissberg's clients will often find his son at the front desk (side by side with his father's secretary) making cheeky and sassy remarks at future divorcees and heirs of blue harbor.

tinder/grindr dates , micah often utilizes the app to meet people, though hasn't had much luck in the long-term relationship front, resulting in many nights ending in disappointment. so, most of the time he just uses it to hook up and manages his expectations.

people who watch his standup / people who work at a bar he performs at , micah does standup at local bars that host open mic nights. perhaps these are people who perform their own material (could be music or something else!), bar regulars, or even people who work there!

No. Somehow we decided Yassified Mrs. Tweedy from Chicken Run: Dawn of the Nugget has real dom energy and her next conquest would be El Pollero himself, Gus Fring - if only he wasn't gay! El Pollero is Mrs. Tweedy's impossible dream! In fact, once he finds out about the chicken collars, he might try to seduce "what's-his-nuts, in the chicken suit" away from her. "Mr. Tweedy II," I ad-libbed, (It's Dr. Fry but I had to look it up.) "has it never occurred to you to to sell these happiness collars to people?" And then, in a goofier voice, "But they're chicken collars, they're to make chickens happy..."

And the spouse says, "I don't know how to make people happy!"

If I'd been drinking water I would've done a spittake. "WTF, are you adding emotional depth to this? Oh, my god. That's a fic!"

"It's a crack pairing. It'd only hold up for a thousand words or so..."

"No! Are you kidding me?"

"YES!" A pause. "In the spirit of that game where you buy three items to freak out the cashier, the only fic I have on AO3 right now is the WTYP one. WTYP fights Gozer, a slow burn romance between Gus Fring and whats-his-nuts in the chicken suit, and what's the third one...??"

After some discussion, I admitted, "The one I really wanna do is Bartleby the Scrivener as a Seinfeld episode... And maybe in the B-plot Kramer does The Tell-Tale Heart."

"Wait, is Kramer the killer or the victim?"

"The killer? I dunno, we need him for the next episode..."

Anyway, we decided Kramer gets a Furby and he's taking it everywhere and Newman's real annoyed with it, but he needs to sneak into Kramer's room while he's sleeping and steal it without setting it off. A cursory internet search suggests that Furbies and Seinfeld did share a brief moment on this planet, so this would've been one of the last episodes, perhaps a lost finale. ...In which case I would be free to kill whoever I like!

But, okay. I'm done with my next six-pack and I'm not going to publish it until I can illustrate. My eyes are putting me on indefinite hiatus. But I can write! So, if I get real bored... And I'm not saying I will, 'cos I got a lot of eye exercises to do and ATM they get me real tired and useless. I spent a long time avoiding Breaking Bad. I knew it was good - prestige television and the like. It just. Felt like a lot?

But Riley got me to watch Better Call Saul around the time we first started dating because I found out it starred Bob Odenkirk and I'm big into Mister Show (my love for improv and sketch comedy is vast and gross and the reason why I met my wife). I was crazy into it. It took me a while after that, but Riley brought up checking out the original show (The Bad as we Hardcore Fans call it) and I agreed to check it out.

So imagine my surprise when, after hearing so many assholes on the internet talk about how Badass and Cool Walter White was for like ten years, I realize immediately that he is probably the biggest loser in that era of television.

For those of you unaware, Vince Gilligan's Breaking Bad follows family man and resigned high school chemistry teacher Walter White. He is diagnosed with lung cancer and proceeds to spend five seasons of TV barely able to do a single crime without fucking it up. Walt fumbles pretty much every step of the way and is shocked when there are consequences to his actions, even though he does no research and makes a point to do all his worst felonies in the same dedicated Crime Hat.

I hate this hat. This hat is so, so dumb. While I fully think that the vitriol against the character of Skyler White (Walt's wife) is absolutely unfounded and a lot of her behavior is justified within the context of her being a super pregnant mother whose cancer-ridden husband starts acting unstable - the one fault I have with her character is that she saw Walt walk in with his New Crime Hat and didn't immediately burst out laughing. The hat sucks. On multiple occasions Walt is recognized and prevented from doing Crimes purely on the basis of someone recognizing his Crime Hat.

"Oh it's a reference to the French Connection" - yeah man and I bet Walt did that on purpose because he is absolutely insufferable and terrible at crime.

Legitimately every other character in this show, none of which are characterized for their Sick Crime Skills, are better at crimes than Walter White. They make better alibis. They're more thorough. They have - you know - skills and capabilities. Eventually a baby is introduced and I bet that baby could distribute meth better than Walter White.

I am not immune to depictions of toxic masculinity that people accidentally consider cool. When I was 13 I made my sister help me record a shot-by-shot reenactment of Paul Allen's death scene from American Psycho where I played Patrick Bateman. I still remember most of the monologue.

But honestly. Honestly? I cannot figure out why so many people found Walter White cool. I cannot see it and I feel like I'm going insane. I keep asking Riley to confirm that at one point he was like a prototypical Joker figure in culture. This reverence is unfathomable to me. Not only do I not see Walter White as a cool guy, I'm nearly certain the writers and directors and Bryan Cranston himself don't think he's cool.

Riley called him an antihero but I argued for that to be accurate he'd have to exhibit behavior that could be considered heroic in an unconventional sense. I'm midway into season four and I haven't seen do anything that wasn't based in ego at best.

I feel tempted to think that the Mandela Effect is real and my reality split from a prior one where people thought Walter White was awesome and would be willing to spend Human Currency on a silicon mask of what is essentially just a middle aged white man. No other explanation makes sense.

Anyways it's a really good show. Fantastic performances all around, including Aaron Paul's portrayal of Jesse which is actually way more sympathetic and nuanced than the memes online at the time made it sound. Writing is great, acting is great, the directing is a little on the nose sometimes with the Symbolism but it's pretty thought out. Very fun watch.

Decemberween '23 — This Year's ASMRtists

If you’re not familiar with it, ASMR is an abbreviation meaning ‘autonomous sensory meridian response,’ a science sounding name for a reaction that some people get to a range of stimuli. This effect can be caused by a whole host of triggers but at least in the community on Youtube there’s a body of people who engage with it because of its ability to affect relaxation and restful mindsets. If you’re not familiar with what this looks like, it looks like a bunch of people making long videos with a strangely hushed affect.

And I watch and listen to them, to help me relax!

If you are familiar with it, hey, here’s some of the artists I’ve been watching this year, as the ASMR effect shifts around in my head and how I respond to it. One thing that people who don’t experience ASMR might not realise is that you can rely only on the effect being modestly unpredictable. Some stuff may cause it reliably for months and then suddenly, nothing. It pushes me to partake of new things regularly, and to that end, every year, I try to look at what artists are ‘new’ to me that I haven’t mentioned before.

Here then are four artists that I started paying attention to this year:

I feel like I’ve watched more Amy Kay, like maybe I watched her years ago and I never got around to mentioning her. That’s probably likely, because she has an entire queer-read story about you being some variety of monarch, who started out being referred to as a dude, and then as the story evolved, the woman you’re talking to starts referring to you differently. Then eventually the series splits into two threads, with one half referring to ‘my lord’ and the other ‘my lady.’

Oh and then a cult got involved, it was an interesting story.

Anyway, Amy Kay does a lot of different types of video. Some of it is very mundane, some of it is very fantastic, and you’ll know if it’s the kind you respond to. Also, and this shouldn’t be a thing, but in the ASMR space, there’s a common responsiveness to media trends. When a Harry Potter movie comes out, a lot of people will make Harry Potter themed videos. It’s just a heavy trend, and I try not to hold it too much against the artists who are algorithm-responsive, but I am grateful when I see people fade out on it.

Amy Kay does have some videos about Harry Potter content, but it seems to be a thing of the past for now.

Cosmo is an ASMR puppet. Cosmo is not unique as an ASMR puppet, but Cosmo is a puppet that does ASMR. And it’s a big friendly kind of puppet. You’re not going to see stuff that you won’t see from other ASMRtists by the way. Cosmo does roleplays about Recent Events (hi, Barbie Movie Tie In moment) and Cosmo does hand-focused gameplay videos (like Solitaire and Rush Hour), and Cosmo even does draw-along and ramble videos. In every way, Cosmo creates the most typical and normal content any middle of the road ASMRtist can produce, except for the alienation that comes from Cosmo being a puppet.

Alienation is important to me in ASMR. Roleplays don’t want to be realistic because they can’t be. Sometimes there are people who aim for normal, everyday kind of vibes, or expected behaviours, but because ASMR content is fundamentally weird (why are we all whispering?), the closer it gets to normalcy, the less likely it is to land for me. Give me something weird, give me something that recognisably can’t be real, and let me patch the gap in reality myself.

Cosmo’s great, and Cosmo isn’t real, but Cosmo exists and is my friend.

I’m really selfconscious about my ASMR habits, especially since a lot of the ASMRtists I follow are very attractive women, some of whom are markedly younger than myself, and that makes me feel… oogy. It does mean that when I find myself responding to an ASMRtist who isn’t a pretty white girl, I try to make sure I mention it, and share their work. In this case, ASMRdido got on my radar through long, patient, whispered explanations of mathematical game concepts – particularly, the Monty Hall problem.

The other thing he does that I find useful for study is long (long) videos of playing a softly sounded, wood-and-velvet game called Close the Box. Close the Box is a great solo game because it underscores how little pieces you need to make a game out of something and still make it engaging.

And finally, Lloyd’s ASMR is a channel that’s… I think deliberately weird. Lloyd really turns up the ambient sound so if you don’t like the SHHHHH of an empty room, you might not like these. They’re slow, deliberate videos, and usually you can see the structure being something Lloyd has props for, reiterated in a new form. Door to door salesman, visiting a store, visiting an old style store. It’s a bit like a comprehensive library in that if you like one thing you can probably find ten or twenty versions of the same thing, even if they don’t make sense. Like you don’t get door to door bakery salespeople.

Lloyd is someone I like because of his gentle demeanour and I like the way that I, forgive me, don’t have to pay much attention. There’s not going to be a really funny joke or something I need to respond to, the way that (say) survey question videos invite me to. I know what I’m getting and I know there’s a reasonably large quantity of it, but also that it’s not about to impress me. It’s just sweet background noise and I’m not going to need to be afraid of something shocking or funny happening.

One Piece 100 Days Challenge!

Day 45: Favorite part of East Blue Saga?

The entire Arlong Park arc, but I'll specify.

I've already mentioned several times the pool scene where Nami saves Zoro. I have talked about it in a youtube video I made about Zoro and Nami in the East Blue saga (this one, it's in Spanish because I couldn't express myself as I would like if I did it in English but I make an attempt to analyze Zoro and Nami's relationship throughout the story between them and with other characters). It's a scene I've seen a thousand times because I watch it when I'm sad or I've had a bad day.

The pool scene is very important for me, as I also said before it’s the scene that made me watch One Piece from the beginning. It is MY scene, I have seen dozens and dozens of tv shows (movies too, although not so many) and right now I can only think of three other scenes that I consider part of me like this one (if you are curious, two are from episodes 2x05 and 2x09 of Black Sails and the other is from episode 6x07 of Better Call Saul, I won't go into details because they are huge spoilers but if you have seen them you will probably know which scenes I’m referring to).

It fascinates me so much because Zoro at the beginning agrees (reluctantly) to go to look for Nami just because Luffy ordered him to. But then Mihawk arrives before he leaves the Baratie, Zoro challenges him and suffers a humiliating defeat. The only time we see him cry as an adult is when he promises Luffy to follow him and become the best swordsman in the world and it becomes the moment when he stops seeing the crew as a means, but as an end in itself. And when he arrives in Arlong Park and discovers Nami's betrayal, he realizes from her expression that something else is going on. He doesn't know what, but he understands that the Nami in front of him who is threatening him is not real, that the real one is the one he already knows.

And so, just to prove his point, he throws himself into the water bound and badly wounded after his battle with Mihawk, knowing that Nami is his only chance to live. Zoro has very little regard for his own body (something that will be shown later in several situations) but he is not suicidal, he was sure that Nami was not going to let him die. Remember in which circumstances they met.

I will never shut the fuck up about this scene, oh my god (this picture is literally my lockscreen :D).

Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law: “The Death of Harvey” | July 22, 2007 - 11:45PM | S04E07

Well, I’ve made my way through all of Harvey Birdman. At one time it seemed like essential viewing, even though I found it to be my least favorite of the OG Adult Swim line-up. I turned on it by the time season one ended, and watched most of the series for the first time through this blog. And I’m gonna level with you: I don’t even really wanna talk about this episode all that much. 

The final episode actually follows the events of the previous episode; Birdman has to try all of his cases again, so he does in a very short amount of time. It’s just an excuse to call back nearly every episode of the show’s run. This show was already lousy with callbacks, imagine an episode where that’s the main thing? Anyway, turns out one of the villains he tried before the series began has also been set free; he’s a big giant monster guy who begins destroying the city. Birdman must return to his superhero roots and fight him with brute force. 

Meanwhile, Phil is revealed to be alive, and is taking a speeding cross-country trip in a bus, driving it entirely in reverse. He refers to his own situation as “final episode stunt casting”. Phil’s story literally collides with Birdman’s when his bus finally shows up moments after Birdman's moment of triumph; striking Birdman and killing him in the process. There’s also a subplot about X the Eliminator or Exterminator (I don’t feel like looking it up) finally maybe getting Birdman’s crest. 

Look, were I a fan of the show, I could imagine this being really pleasing. It’s a fangasm of the highest order. The only way it could possibly be better is if all the characters on here were portrayed as funko pops. I can at least appreciate the animation, which I’ve lightly praised in the past. The show does look pretty good, and the comic action is executed well. But nothing in this made me laugh, really. The show mostly trades in unmotivated silliness and flighty characters behaving foolishly and characters talking at each other but not really having real conversations. It all feels so meaningless.

That said, I guess this one is one of the better episodes. This one has a funny Cheers reference at the end. I’d call this one above average I guess. Okay, that’ll do. I’m done thinking about this show! BYE BYE BIRDMAN BITCH

Harvey Birdman: Attorney at Law: Volume Three DVD (July 24, 2007)

Holy crow, now THAT’S turnaround time, baby! Season three of Harvey Birdman came out the following Tuesday. Imagine how thrilling it would have been to work at a video store and have your shipment from Ingram show up on Thursday. Why, you’d have access to the finale in stunningly crisp DVD quality an entire day before the show debuted on the Friday Night Fix, and three days before it’s television debut. Maybe there’s commentary! 

…There’s no commentary. Oh well. There are extras, though. One of the more memorable extras is a montage of various running jokes on the show, presented in chronological order. This show sure loved its running jokes. Somebody had to.

i’ve never seen a full episode of breaking bad or better call saul but i’ve watched pretty much every major scene on youtube and i’ve watched a bunch of video essays and i’ve listened to my partner talk about the shows and like normally i’d be opposed to really popular things that everyone likes but those shows are actually legitimately amazing. i should watch full episodes sometime. but i also wonder how much of the shows i havent seen.

anyway, i would watch better call saul. tbh it seems more interesting to me. 

im not overstating it when i say i've watched probably almost everything there is... at least all the story beats. and i've watched interviews and essays and all sorts of things to connect the dots. everything was pretty much out of order but idk im good at figuring it out. i've never really been good at following things in order like that... i need to just consume the entire breadth of the story at once, you know? i was like that with books back in school and stuff. usually i only actually watch serieses in order after i've either already spoiled every single thing that happens, or i watched it week-by-week as it came out initially and now i can go back and binge it. if i'm watching something from the beginning and i have a question about how something ends up... i will often google it before continuing in the series. i kinda wish i didnt do that one lmao, but whatever, it doesnt actually hurt my enjoyment much. because for me... the number one thing about breaking bad and better call saul is not necessarily the story itself... it's the craft of how it was made. i love the writing and the acting and the directing and so while i've spoiled everythign about the plot.. watching and thinking about those things cant really be spoiled. you know what i mean?

like... a brilliant shot is gonna be brilliant even if i’ve already seen before. and rather than being hooked on the twists and turns of the plot, i like to think critically about the way those twists and turns were executed, how they were led up to and the ramifications afterwards, that sort of thing. i dont need to be surprised by it.

anyway im bad at watching things (and also reading things) and i definitely wouldnt say to anyone that i’ve watched these shows, but i’ve thought a lot about them and i’ve seen most things that people would reference, lol. but i should watch it for real, too. i should do that. just so that i dont have to put an asterisk every time i wanna talk about it, haha

Jackie Chan from Jackie Chan Adventures.

Who remembers this series? I remember how enthused I was whenever I saw this series when I was a little kid.

Jackie Chan was a freaking worldwide icon back in the day, nowadays he is having a more calm and reserved life, but he is still well know in the world and his legacy would live on forever.

Last year, before I made this drawing, I told myself that I wanted to watch again the Jackie Chan Adventures series, and surprisingly a clip from the season one finale appeared on Better Call Saul! What a fantastic coincidence, it was always my intention to end the Inktober challenge with Jackie Chan.

He was the talk of the class back when I went to school, me and my classmates would talk for hours about how amazing Jackie Chan is, his T.V. series and all his movies, I remember even having all the Burger King toys! I just loved Jackie Chan, and I still do, and I miss seeing him on movies a lot.

The show still holds up to this day! I'd even say that I think it's better now seeing it as an adult, the animations where pretty amazing, the characters were fantastic, the comedy was gold, and all the cultural references are superb! And the life lessons that Jackie gave to Jade were actually pretty useful in real life.

random extra wavernot4love lore: i grew up going 2 shows & fests like warped in the mid 2010s scene, starting when i was 13 (sup, monumentour darien). sws, ptv, mcr, fob, bmth, atl, & tøp were some of the first bands i ever really loved. i grew up on a LOT of 2010s pop punk, but over the past two years or so have been diving into the 2000s scene, especially in terms of post hardcore, much more than i had before!

i travel as much as i can for shows, oftentimes for the past couple years, solo (i've grown a lot more confident in that & would always rec it over missing out as long as you take precautions! feel free 2 ask for tips)!!! i also love making stuff like bracelets, keychains, stickers, & pins to give out/trade at shows!!

but the actual answer is that in breaking bad there is jesse and in better call saul theres nacho. they are foils and both have arcs where they are referred to as dogs in various ways mostly by gus (aesthetically bald). jesse's dog arc begins around the time he shaved his head (artificially bald) and nacho is artificial the entire show. both are kinda father figured by mike (real bald) during that time. and its really all spiraled out from there...... the characteristics for categories are really vibes based atm but surprisingly coherent??

the two balding are brothers who are. ill in a sense, and hiding from something. the beanie subset is minor characters just trying to vibe, all the artificial ones are playing someone elses game at one point or another & have had some sort of loss of agency (and all but one die SAD). all the half bald ones are soo jealous and a bit greedy :-) real bald is. generally people who are loyal, morally flexible, and loveee violence.. & finally bald limbo is just because walt WAS going to go real bald but decided to shave it all off first and exemplifies how he toes the line between being heisenburg and walter
