In a world where humans and Pokémon live side-by-side in harmony, Beth Greene has chosen to take on the challenge of becoming a Champion-ranked Trainer. It’s a long and sometimes dangerous journey that consists of traveling the country to challenge at least 8 gyms and their leaders. Once a Trainer has earned 8 gym badges, they have the option of challenging the Pokémon League and the Elite Four—the four most talented and experienced Trainers in the nation—and becoming a Champion. But in between various cities, towns, and gyms is a vast wilderness of wild Pokémon and other Trainers who are eager to battle.

Beth is determined to make her own way, hoping to learn as much as possible along the journey, as well as develop a deep bond and understanding with her partner Pokémon. She’s also eager to meet other Trainers and learn from them, and maybe even make some new friends.

Then a chance encounter brings her to Lone Wolf Daryl Dixon, an older Trainer who long ago abandoned his original dream of challenging the Elite Four and becoming a Champion. He seems jaded, downtrodden, and lonely, with a past shrouded in mystery. Yet he still seems to find companionship and a sense of joy from his pair of Pokémon partners.

Beth only has three Pokémon at her side, but she can tell that Daryl holds a potential he’s hesitant to recognize. With two badges under her belt, she discovers a new challenge in helping Daryl come out of his shell and learn to trust again. And maybe—just maybe—she can convince him to give his dream another shot.

And perhaps he’ll open himself up to the prospect of friendship somewhere along the way, too.

Proof they put Beth on the back seat of the car after Grady and that Beth's return will lead to a cure.

They think she's a hybrid, aka Zombie, but she's associated with fire 🔥 so the flammable liquid is her.

She will return as Christ to bring the last judgment of fire 🔥 and destroy the fake cure of the Mark of the beast and beast kingdom before the Millennial Kingdom begins.

The whole end scene when the building collapses and Rick and Michonne get out in the nick of time is a repeat of the CDC collapse.

The building Rick and Michonne are in has AI and all the modern tech just like Vi at the CDC.

It's about to be destroyed and the group run for the cars. One of which is yellow.

While the high tech building they destroy is connected to the CDC, it's also connected to Grady, so by connection, they were working on a cure at Grady.

At the CDC test, subject 19 (Beth was 19 at Grady) took 2 hours, 1 minute, and 7 seconds till resurrection...

21 days = 7x3 = 3 missing weeks.

Dr Jenner shoots his test subject in the head...

For Beth, it will be reverse shot in head resurrection after 3 weeks.

Instead, it will be Grady that collapses most likely from an earthquake.

On April 18th, 2024, the official Instagram account of The Walking Dead shared the post shown within my edit in the left pane of the first of the photos shown ☝🏼here☝🏼. Beth Greene (Emily Kinney) was on a relatively short list of deceased characters from the series with this query—if we (the viewers) could bring back any character, which one would it be??? There goes that often annoying TWD account… trolling yet again in regards to Beth. *SIGH* 🙄😑🤨🤔

But I was so heartened when I looked through the comments and saw the huge volume of fans of the series—and not just Beth/Emily stans or Beth x Daryl shippers—stating that it is indeed Beth Greene whom they would want to see come back… ALIVE. This coming November will mark TEN YEARS since Beth was tragically shot in that heartbreaking episode of “Coda.” And there are still SO MANY Walking Dead fans who would have been thrilled to see her return during the run of the series. THAT is a true testament to the impact of Beth as a character and how she has enduringly resonated with so many people… with her sensitivity, her empathy, her beauty inside and out, her strength, and her spirit. The faint Team Delusional fire within me sparks a fantasy of her showing up in the second season of Daryl Dixon. Hey… stranger things have happened, right? Just the fact that Daryl floated all the way across the Atlantic to France(!?!) in the first place certainly demands a substantial suspension of disbelief on the part of the viewers. 😐

Anyway, feeling inspired by the sight of the voluminous outpouring of love and devotion for Beth, I combed through the comment thread on the post and took screenshots of any comments of Beth positivity that I could find. I then took all of those comments and poured them into a total of 17(!!!) separate Instastories (shown here in the above photos) that I shared on my Instagram—doeroseq. I tagged Emily Kinney on each story. Because I wanted her to see just how much she and Beth are both beloved and still missed by TWD’s fandom… all these years later. 👱🏻‍♀️💚🐞

And I later saw the confirmation in my Instagram messaging that she saw at least one of them. So that made me feel really good. 🥰

When I saw @bethiscomingsoon’s recent tumblr posts about their similar observations of the Beth/Emily adoration within the post’s comments, I decided to share my Instastories here too. 😁

Do you think there is a deleted scenes between daryl and beth?!

Hey anon! Tbh, we're just sure. We are fairly certain that there are deleted scenes from season 5. There's quite a bit of proof for this, leading us to believe that they are hiding something from us pertaining to Beth's (lack of a) funeral as well as what happened after they left Atlanta. However, we don't have any idea whether Daryl and Beth are featured together in those scenes. It's possible!

Pertaining to 4b, while we don't have any proof that they have unaired footage from bethyl's time together during 4b, there very well could be. There's literally no way to know unless they choose to tell us. I know many bethylers do wonder what happened during the time period between "Still" and "Alone." It seems that, possibly, several weeks have passed, as they've found warmer clothes to wear; however, we also know that the timeline in 4b and 5a is particularly weird. For example, if you trace things like the seasonality of the fruits and flowers that we see in 4b, like pecans, strawberries, peaches, grapes, and sunflowers, you'll find several seasonal periods going on at once in Georgia. There's everything from early summer to mid-fall. Then, of course, there's that weird moment where Joe the Claimer says it's "New Year's Eve." Ultimately we really don't know how much time passed between "After" and "Coda." It could be three weeks or three months, and I believe that's entirely purposeful. They want to create feelings of disorientation for the audience as they build up to "Coda." Once you've sat around studying Scott Gimple's ways long enough, you know that he LOVES planting seeds, and one of his favorite seeds to plant is ambiguity.

For the purposes of continued rambling, I know there are some bethylers who have speculated that Beth and Daryl were intimate between "Still" and "Alone," given the fact that Daryl seems much more physical with Beth in "Alone," sort of constantly touching her, and they seem to have grown much closer. He carries her around several times, and they do hold hands. He flirts with her pretty heavily at a couple different moments, even if he's not entirely aware of the fact. I really don't have a personal belief on this topic. I think either perspective is interesting and valid, and I think that tptb could maneuver the situation either way, if they wanted to, and depending on what they would have wanted us to see *later,* this might affect whether or not they shot any scenes that they never told anybody about.

The Book Of Carol; A Damn Romance Novel...?

...ok hear me out before you go into anaphylactic shock...

I came across an interesting gif set in the Daryl Dixon tag the other day. It was by zehiiro on Tumblr, and I truly thought it was a great observation. I don’t want to tag them in case they'd rather not be dragged into Bethyl/TD stuff and thangs, but the parallels were convincing, and they deserve cred for their observation. Naturally, I interpret it differently than they do, but I will never claim to have the full truth on how anything in TWDU is meant to be interpreted. I can only offer my point of view, and I quite enjoy reading other people's perspectives, it's often very enlightening.

In any case, the parallels are solid, here's a screenshot:

It makes a lot of sense if what we saw in Carol's sneak peak was shot intentionally to reference the scene from 7x10 New Best Friends. This was after Carol and Daryl had been apart for an extended period of time, just as they are in the current timeline. It was directly before they reunited, something we have to assume will happen relatively soon after the sneak peak takes place in current time. And it references a scene that, in my opinion, heralds rebirth, reunion and resurrection. I'll try to explain how below.

In 7x10 New Best Friends, Daryl has an altercation with Richard, because Richard wants to set up Carol to be killed by the Saviors, in an attempt to lure Ezekiel to go to war, along with Rick, against the Saviors.

Daryl, of course, has major objections to the idea. They fight, right next to a trailer decorated with horses, that we later learned was actually used in the movie Smokey and the Bandit. I wrote about that in an old post of mine, read it here.

Interestingly, we saw a callback to that trailer recently in TOWL 1x5 Become...

...after Rick and Michonne had escaped in that yellow car we all knew was a reference to a selection of yellow objects seen through the years...

...such as Beth's yellow polo, and a certain yellow Ford Mustang from season 2...

Remember Carol's blue Ford Mustang? I wrote about it here and here. Mustangs are horses, and I believe these shots were specifically included in reference to the symbolism around Mustangs, and I mean both the horses and the cars here.

This shot of Carol's blue Ford Mustang from TWDDD 1x6 Coming Home, shows the licence plate that points to TWD 5x2, which was when Carol and Daryl discovered a Grady car, and followed it into Atlanta, and eventually located Beth.

And like I expanded on in the post about the yellow symbolism, it all derives from Carol's yellow Jeep Cherokee from season one, plus the aforementioned yellow Ford Mustang from season 2...

...which happens to have the same licence plate as the car that Carol and Daryl drove to follow the Grady car to Atlanta, which eventually led them to Beth...

...and which I believe is a reference to the Lincoln Continental Beth and Daryl hid in in 4x12 Still (because the LC on the licence plate, in my opinion, could represent "Lincoln Continental").

What happens directly after Daryl and Richard's fight by the mustang/horse trailer, is that Daryl makes his way over to Carol's house. He knocks on her door, and reunites with Carol after a long time apart. And what is Carol doing right before she opens her door?

She’s reading a damn romance novel, called Denim Dreams, with a familiar looking Sirius Piggyback on the cover:

Below, we see the actual Sirius Piggyback from 4x13 Alone, along with the stock photo from Shutterstock that was used as the cover photo for Carol's damn romance novel:

In 4x13 Alone, Daryl carried Beth, piggyback-style, across a cemetary. In 7x10 New Best friends, Carol lived in a little YELLOW house, near a cemetary, enjoying a damn romance novel, with a Sirius Piggyback cover photo...

Those are some darned suspicious coincidences...

Back when 7x10 New Best Friends aired, this caused quite a stir, and it remains to this day one of my favorite Bethyl hints to ever appear in TWDU. Read more about it in these excellent posts from season 7 (here and here).

Later, we see Carol prepare food for Daryl, while explaining why she had to leave. We see the romance novel, with the Sirius Piggyback cover photo, on her bookshelf, right next to a symbol we remember from 5x8 Coda:

My take on the title "Denim Dreams", is that, long story short, "denim" is a blue clue (in the sense that "blue jeans" is an established term). And as I explained in a recent post, "blue" is a synonym for "police". Beth and Rick are both encompassed by the "blue" symbolism, Rick because he's a police officer, Beth because she's "the new sheriff in town". The "pig" in "Sirius Piggyback" refers to the derogatory term for police, "pig", which has been used as symnonomous with "police" several times in TWDU. I wrote about the "pig" symbolism recently in this post, along with my take on the cat symbolism.

Speaking of cat symbolism, there was plenty of that to be found in 7x10 New Best Friends. Here's Rick, articulating what I tried to say in my cat symbolism post:

...to replace the one you lost...

...it's just that sometimes the one you lost can't easily be replaced...

But the cat symbolism is about rebirth, reunion and resurrection, and that's something to hold on to, according to an overwhelming number of characters in this episode...

...which is interesting, concidering a certain someone sang an entire Tom Waits classic on the subject of "holding on" back in season 3:

I know I keep saying that the symbolism we see is about "reunion". I'm not taking that out of thin air. Here's Daryl's commentary as we hear Beth's voice singing "Hold On" in the background:

Straight from the horses mouth there. What Daryl is referring to is the fact that he had just returned to, and reunited with, TF after initially having wandered off with his brother earlier in the season.

So, to circle back to the scene from 7x10, and its parallel, the scene from Carol's sneak peak; they're about reunions. Sure, it's obviously specifically about the imminent reunion between Carol and Daryl, both in 7x10 and in TWDDD seasson 2, which I'm personally looking forward to immensly.

But there are multiple layers to the reunion symbolism in TWDU, many of which speak directly to TD.

Because that damn romance novel, Carol's actual book from 7x10 New Best Friends, The Literal Book Of Carol, is a story about the Sirius Piggyback. And the comment on the damn romance novel from 4x1 was about Beth, that's a 100% undeniable fact:

Sirius means return, rebirth and resurrection. She will be back. Sirius Piggyback.

Perhaps in "The Book Of Carol; a Damn Romance Novel"...

For those who treat her with kindness, she grants safe passage to enter the church and pray at the altar. Tonight, Daryl Dixon will be taken to La Dame Blanche to pray for himself, Laurent and Isabelle to escape safely from Paris and continue their journey towards The Nest. Coming face to face with La Dame Blanche is about to give him the shock of his life.

Look I'm not a caryler but I watch the show since the beginning and I'm seeing the constant discussion here about Melissa and the spin-off and I'm just giving my unrequested two cents, I think you guys are expecting two much from a dead franchise, we all know the only spin off that will make some noise is the Rick and Michonne one and only because people are curious to know what happened to them, AMC needs to capture a new audience, TWD it's their biggest product right now and they don't want to just please segregated fandoms.

Melissa is a great actress that's for sure, no one will question that but her and Carol were never the face of the franchise like Rick, Daryl and Michonne, so it's easy for them to push her aside and make a Daryl centric show, they see how Daryl was always the most popular one and don't twice to make that happened because Daryl is AMC property, they don't have to pay Robert Kirkman and co to use him.

My opinion on her being back it's because she signed a contract and needs to fulfill that, I don't see nothing changing in terms of her and Daryl relationship, it would make sense to make them canon in the mothership show but I don't see them bothering to pull the trigger in the spin off.

To me they will remain best friends and Daryl will stay single with the constant ship baiting.

There's a lot to unpack here. Bear with me.

You're confusing "most popular" with most marketed. Just because Melissa doesn't do as much promotion, which is something she gets a say in I should add, does not mean people find her less appealing or less remarkable. Melissa is the 2nd most lauded actor on the show right after Andy. She was the most respected actor on set along with Andy, and everybody wanted to work with her.

She was not kicked out of her own spinoff to adjust to the market. She was kicked out because no one bothered to do any market research at all. If they had, they would've anticipated the insane amount of backlash they got last year. Expecting the majority of fans to welcome a solo Daryl show with open arms says far more about the people calling the shots than it does about Melissa or Carol. It says they're incompetent, biased, and misogynistic. It says they fucked up big time, and if you pay any attention to how they're marketing the spinoff now compared to last year, you might realize there's a huge focus on Melissa and Carol. Granted, they keep fumbling big time and if they don't get themselves organized right fucking now they're going to ruin everything again, but they wouldn't be dangling Carol like a carrot if they didn't think she was going to be an essential part of the show's success. They wouldn't have brought her back at all.

You say she's in S2 to fulfill her old contract, but that's wrong. She signed a new deal that would cover seasons 2-3. I don't know what's in it, I don't trust AMC not to find new and unusual ways to screw over their female talent, but I am 100% sure it was her choice to come back and she had plenty of power to get things she wanted. The excuses "fans" come up with for her being in her rightful place again are ridiculous and very telling.

You say she's less popular, yet you, other Richonne fans, Bethyl fans, and everyone under the sun spend time visiting a Caryl/Carol/Melissa centric blog. Why? If I can manage not to waltz into the Richonne/Michonne tags to try to invalidate their fans' opinions and feelings, why can't those who strongly suggest they aren't fans of Caryl/Carol offer me the same courtesy? Because popularity isn't pure love. It includes those who "love to hate" also.

You are absolutely right that TOWL will get the most buzz compared to Dead City S1 and Le Spinoff S1 and that's because it promises everything Rick/Michonne/Richonne fans have been waiting a really long time for. I have major doubts that Gimple can do right by anyone everyone, but I still hope fans get what they want. The one thing I can't stand about TWD fandom is the insistence on pitting female characters and actresses against each other, which I suspect is the real intention behind this ask. But Carol and Michonne are friends. Melissa and Danai are friends. There is absolutely no reason we all can't support a black woman leading her own show and a woman over 50 leading her own show at the same time.

I agree the best time to make Caryl canon would've been in the flagship show and that Caryl will always be best friends. But that doesn't mean best friends can't also be romantic partners, or that the spinoff can't right the wrongs that were made in S11 for unprofessional reasons, not creative ones.

AMC will not "capture a new audience" with a knock-off version of TLOU or from borrowing American exceptionalism and white male savior tropes from 80's movies. TWDU accounts for too much of AMC's revenue for it to go anywhere right now like you said, so they need to be mindful of their built-in audience. They chose to create different spinoffs for different characters, which means they have to niche down to audiences who are invested in each character's story. Believe it or not, Caryl's fanbase is huge and definitely worth hanging onto, but in order to do that, the show has to meet their needs. Treating Melissa as if she's less than, refusing to make Caryl canon for, again, unprofessional reasons, and shipbaiting relentlessly will just drive them away. So respectfully, I disagree that we're expecting too much (you don't work for the AMPTP, do you?)

I'm sharing this poll as a reminder to never underestimate Caryl's value (I have no interest in starting a ship war).

He noticed and asked, “‘S a matter? Lose somethin’?”

She frowned, scooting her chair back a bit as her eyes darted all over the floor. “Yeah,” she mumbled. “My earring.”

Without hesitation, he scooted his chair back as well and began searching the floor. A second later, he pointed down and said, “There it is—under the table. Here, I’ll get it.”

He was getting out of his chair and leaning down before Beth had a chance to move, ducking his head beneath the table and retrieving the earring as he knelt on the floor. There was a grunt, then he was leaning back up and holding out the piece of jewelry for her to take, the small golden hoop pinched tightly between his thumb and index finger.

Maybe it was the alcohol swimming through her head and putting her in a goofy mood—Beth wasn’t sure. But all she could think about as Daryl knelt before her was how he looked like he could’ve been proposing.

A few of the patrons seated nearby had turned to look and she could feel their eyes on her, as though they were thinking that they might be witnessing a public proposal on Valentine’s Day. The gold hoop even kind of resembled a ring. It made her grin and nearly laugh aloud.

But instead of laughing, she let out an exaggerated gasp and put her hands to her face, feigning gleeful surprise.

Why not give them a show? Plus, it would undoubtedly be hilarious to see Daryl’s reaction.

“Oh my god, Daryl!” She squealed, loudly enough that all the surrounding customers overheard. A dozen more heads turned to look in Beth and Daryl’s direction.

Daryl’s brow furrowed and he remained kneeling in front of her with the earring held out, an expression of confusion on his face. “What?”

Beth’s grin grew a little wider and she started nodding eagerly, fully aware of all the eyes that were on her and the sudden silence that had fallen over the bar.

“Yes, of course I’ll marry you!”

How I fell in love

with The Walking Dead, Bethyl and Team Delusional. No one asked. Lol but I wanted to share! Back in 2014 I had heard of TWD but had never seen an episode, had no idea of the plot or who the characters were, all I assumed that it was a "scary" TV show and that was it. So in July I was flipping through the channels and ran across the dead, white and blue marathon. I was working but yea I could do my job and watch TV with no interruptions from my then 1 yo. The very first episode I laid my eyes on was Still. Can you believe that? The first random episode I found was my now favorite Still!! I had no idea of any background stories, I didn't even know their names at the time. All I seen was 2 young people running around an apocalypse with zombies who had major chemistry. It felt like a normal date night in the country. Finding an old abandoned house in the woods, drinking moonshine, someone getting too drunk and wanting to fight or argue, sitting on the porch and the crickets in the back ground. Sounds like a normal night in the south especially for a young couple. Hell, the first time my husband told me he loved me was when he was drunk on homemade moonshine and I live in NC but that's a different story. I kept watching these two characters and thinking they are going to at least make out! Really thinking they were going to go back into that cabin and (insert smut) however we all know they didn't. They did burn it down which again is a typical thing to do in the south burn something or have a big bon fire. I never once felt that there was some crazy age difference. I had no idea of their ages. After watching that episode I watched the next few and quickly realized that TWD was not all about scary zombies. I was in love and obsessed. I went and bought every season which was 4 at the time. By October I was completely caught up and so excited to find out what happened to beth and wanted the Bethyl reunion! I had not shipped a tv couple so hard since Spike and Buffy in high school!! Then Coda happened and I was so effected. I felt like I was actually mouring someone real not just a fictional character on a TV show. I cried myself to sleep. Now mind you at the time I was a 20 something year old women with a family and for days I was actually overcome with grief! Then it hit me. The whole thing did not feel right. The way she was shot and the angle of the gun. The way the music played at the end. I began to search on the internet because in my mind I really thought this has to be a fake out death and maybe someone else thought so or there was a spoiler of some sort to prove she was alive. That's when I found tumblr. I didn't know what that was before either. I found team delusional. Some of the people I followed are gone now but what everyone was saying and fact there were missing scenes that they filmed all made sense to me. I continued to watch the TWD until around season 7 or 8 then I lost interest. I never stopped following TD to see what they had to say, hoping eventually TWD would bring beth back. I never stopped reading all the bethyl ff. I did start back the main show to finish the last 2 seasons. Then of course the DD spin off. I notice the parallels on the DD show because the earlier seasons are my favorite and I have rewatched so many times. The parallels i see are of the end of season 4 and the beginning of season 5. All of the big beth episodes. I do believe that we are closer now than we have been to seeing her again! I think currently the writers want the GA to believe that Daryls happy ending will be with either Isabelle or Carol, however I think they are writing the story to seem like that, so it will be an even bigger surprise when Beth returns. ❤️

So...I might have started a fic...maybe one-shot...I don't know where I'm going with it yet, but it could be almost complete as a angsty one-shot right now...

I feel like every Bethyl writer has to write something involving the missing 17 days, where TF put Beth--was trying to to--and how she survives the gunshot. I usually skip over it--sometimes never even mention how or why she's alive in Alexandria.

@ twdmusicboxmystery recently posted another ask video which was about the missing 17 days and I found myself using the info and theories into a fic. I have almost 1.5k written of Daryl trying to get her to a church for burial and just started the scene where they find her body missing.

Now I need to decide if I want to post as a one-shot, continue it, or use it in another story (currently don't have a fic to insert it in)

According to another Bethyl blog, it was either Gimple or someone else who told a fan Bethylers were going to love season 2 so Beth is maybe going to feature in some form?? Beth was a big common denominator between Daryl and Carol in terms of the plot so it makes sense to reference that period in some way

So from my own sluthing , the actress who plays Lori mentioned that there was deleted scenes in season two/farm era

MELISSA twitted something that she later deleted that I saw which I forgot and odd.

There was no Emily and Norman scenes in season two, which is the farm era, the only one I can think of is a few short short short barley there scenes of them in the same screen shot but that's not enough to warrant a talk . A few of e actors also eludes to there being deleted scenes that we never saw.
