thinking about john egbert’s consistent refusal  to show deep care for things. for all his outward kindness (and he is a kind and good person mind you), he reacts very dully to huge or devastating events and it’s interesting. because i could be projecting or wielding my wishful thinking on this one but i don’t think he genuinely doesn’t care. i think he cares and he cares a lot about small things because they’re easier to handle, one step at a time, but when huge or life altering things happen he just…retreates. he disassociates from the thing and moves on and closes off his feelings from it. and then when it gets to “the straw that breaks the camel’s back” point, he takes it out on smaller things. like when he essentially threw a massive tantrum over con air and davesprite and that whole scene. idk man it just feels like, he was 13 when he and his friends got flung headfirst into a murderous game and he had to watch his dad die and a bunch of other horrible shit go down and his friends all dealt with it in their own way, whether it was a pile of ironic horseshit or throwing yourself into hobbies or psychoanalyzing others to avoid thinking of the shit in your own mind, and his way of coping was just. distance. to float high above it all. but you can’t keep that shit locked away forever. no matter how far or how fast you fly from it. you come crashing down at some point.

These are the designs I finalized, honing in on early act silly shenanigans from the kids. I ordered some front and back printed proofs to see how they turn out, so I'll share those when I get them. In the meantime I want to gauge interest, and then eventually open pre-orders. I'm really excited and proud of these, so I hope people like them. :)
