Purple Mountains - S/T (2019)....Possibly the best album of 2019. Initially I didn’t expect the album to be this good since I was never a fan of Silver Jews or David Berman. But this debut album just blew me away. I have never thought Berman to be a great songwriter but this album tells of life, grim and heartbreaking stories. I don’t what kind of life he went through after Silver Jews but this album conjures up stories of someone who has endured and matured through the hardships of life. Very mature and deep album which I haven’t heard for a long time since The Antlers ‘Hospice’ album. Very glad I picked this up and gambled. I cannot seem to get enough of James Blake! This album is absolutely stunning and incredibly romantic. It really resonates with me on a deep level and inspires me to create music of my own. I cannot believe the level of gorgeousness he’s able to create and share with us. Stepping into James’ world is so consuming and breathtaking. I want to choreograph a beautiful dance to “I’ll Come Too.”  “Power On” has often been stuck in my head. He even collaborated with one of my other dreamy and most favorite musicians, Moses Sumney!! <3 

UGH I can’t even handle it. So much beauty. Hands down, top album of 2019. <3 <3 <3 <3 <3

What is your favorite #album this year? Mine is this. At the @semibreve festival, I also had the opportunity to listen to this beautiful piece of music live in a chapel with perfect acoustics. OneWeekAlbum - Best of 2019

Quest’anno il mio Best Of arriva decisamente in ritardo. 

Lo voglio scrivere comunque, nonostante il 2020 sia partito già da diversi giorni, perché più che una specie di tradizione o vezzo è piuttosto un bisogno di fermare per iscritto, in questo spazio ormai poco frequentato e parecchio trascurato, quelli che sono stati i miei dischi preferiti degli ultimi dodici mesi.
