I got the latest issue of the "GameStar" magazine (the article itself was already published online two months ago apparently, but the hard copy came out three weeks ago), which had a few pages about Veilguard (and a review of the whole series), and while it didn't include any new information, I thought the final "personal opinion" piece by the author was really sweet, so I wanted to share it on here, too. (The author is this magazine's editor-in-chief, who was one of the journalists who got to see the full one-hour presentation of Veilguard at Summer Game Fest. I tried to translate it as best as I could. :3)
"Dragon Age means the world to a lot of my colleagues. To my co-worker Alex Schneider, the artbooks are pretty much part of his office equipment, Heiko's boss Rae can basically quote the prequel novels from memory — backwards —, and my co-worker Steffi rushes through the hallways like a vacuum cleaner every time there is the tiniest new piece of rumor about Dragon Age to "absorb". I am more lukewarm about it. Yes, I've played Dragon Age Origins multiple times and enjoyed it very much, but Thedas was always too theatrical and not believable enough of a world for me to really get immersed in it. So the fact that even I walked out after the one-hour presentation thinking: "Damn, when is my flight back home, I need to (re)play the whole trilogy again!" - that's saying something. Again: The Veilguard still has a lot to prove. That it knows how to fill its world in a meaningful way, that its mechanics offer enough depth and most of all: That it tells a good story. But during my conversation with Corinne, every second felt like I was talking with people that understand exactly what made Dragon Age so good. The kick-off to Veilguard is as brilliant as it is intense, sparks curiosity for its world and amidst all the action, it doesn't forget to show a bit of heart. Whatever comes out of it after its release: For years Bioware hasn't looked as promising as it does now."
I also got the "PC Games" magazine, but that one had even less information than GameStar, even though they put it on the cover? :/ (Had to buy it anyway of course, because it has Dragon Age on it 🤡❤️)
#dragon age the veilguard#dragon age the veilguard spoilers#datv#datv spoilers#da4#gamestar#the same journalist was also on a German gaming podcast where he basically re-emphasized how positively surprised he was by what he saw :D#they're being very dramatic in the title though 😂 calling it a ''Game of Fate''#''BioWare's last chance to change course (and save their reputation)''#fun fact.. there might be an ancient GameStar article floating around somewhere about yours truly lol#my one minute of fame lmao

Hello could you write some Fluffy head canons about Best Jeanist having an adopted daughter who is a big germaphobe.
Like always wearing a mask and gloves, will clean the house from top to bottom 3 times a day, and having and using a hand sanitizer at all times.
Also she can freak out if she feels ‘dirty’. Like somebody accidentally sneezed in front of her and suddenly she’s frantically cleaning herself to get rid of the germs.
(This was tater easy since my sibling is kind of a germaphobe too)
Best Jeanist x Germaphobe Daughter Reader
Gets you moisturizing hand sanitizer since normal hand sanitizer can dry out your hands
Gets you antibacterial soaps and toiletries
Puts together a small stylish bag for you to carry that contains your wet wipes, hand sanitizer, antimicrobial disinfectant spray, disposable cleansing cloths (I actually have these they’re great, just get them a little wet and then you can sponge bathe and you don’t have to rinse off) extra gloves and masks, etc.
He’ll buy and make you plenty of cute face masks and gloves so that you have plenty to choose from and look good
He’s always got disposable masks and gloves on him for you
If you don’t like to go grocery shopping in store then he’ll let you order what you need online
Employs cleaners for his house that are you approved
Let’s you decorate the Roomba vacuum cleaner however you want if you want
Makes sure that the laundry machines are properly cleaned every weekend (the washing machine is cleaned inside and out and the dryer’s lint trap is entirely cleaned and is vacuumed out)
Gets you whatever you need in order to feel clean
Doesn’t get mad and understands your fear of germs and doesn’t ridicule you or invalidate you
Makes sure that you’re comfortable but also stylish in what you wear
Helps you style yourself and includes your face masks and gloves

We have three books on our list this week! Which ones are you going to pick up?
Asking for a Friend by Kara H.L. Chen Quill Tree Books
This charming YA rom-com follows a strong-willed, ambitious teen as she teams up with her childhood frenemy to start a dating-advice column, perfect for fans of Emma Lord and Gloria Chao. Juliana Zhao is absolutely certain of a few things: 1. She is the world’s foremost expert on love. 2. She is going to win the nationally renowned Asian Americans in Business Competition. When Juliana is unceremoniously dropped by her partner and she’s forced to pair with her nonconformist and annoying frenemy, Garrett Tsai, everything seems less clear. Their joint dating advice column must be good enough to win and secure bragging rights within her small Taiwanese American community, where her family’s reputation has been in the pits since her older sister was disowned a few years prior. Juliana always thought prestige mattered above all else. But as she argues with Garrett over how to best solve everyone else’s love problems and faces failure for the first time, she starts to see fractures in this privileged, sheltered worldview. With the competition heating up, Juliana must reckon with the sacrifices she’s made to be a perfect daughter—and whether winning is something she even wants anymore.
The Lost Souls of Benzaiten by Kelly Murashige Soho Teen
A fantastical and heartfelt debut, quirky and transportive, that follows a young outcast on a journey of transformation . . . into a robot vacuum cleaner. "I wish to become one of those round vacuum cleaner robots." That's what Machi writes while praying at the altar of Japanese goddess Benzaiten. She writes it because ever since her two best friends Angel and Sunny decided they want nothing to do with her, Machi hasn't been able to speak. After months and months of online school and seeing different therapists, Machi still hasn't uttered a word, and she can no longer see the point of being human. But she doesn't expect Benzaiten to actually hear her prayer, much less offer a to show Machi all the beauty of humanity, ultimately restoring her voice. Benzaiten is enamored with the human world—possibly a little too enamored—and, as she's the goddess of love, humanity is enamored right back. Being second-best to another friend isn't helping Machi move past her trauma, and with each adventure they share, Machi is reminded of everything she's lost. It isn't until Machi starts interacting with the souls of the dead—a phenomena of spending so much time around a goddess—that she starts to understand pain can serve a purpose. And when she really stops to take a look around her, she realizes the potential for happiness, and for closure, has been there all along.
The Reckoning of Roku by Randy Ribay Amulet Books
From National Book Award finalist Randy Ribay comes a gripping new chapter—starring Avatar Roku—in the New York Times bestselling Chronicles of the Avatar series, set in the world of Avatar: the Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. A young Avatar Roku has only just commenced his training at the Southern Air Temple when his erstwhile friend, Prince Sozin, requests his aid in preventing the Earth Kingdom from claiming a remote Fire Nation island. Despite his inexperience, Avatar Roku slips away with the help of an irritating young Airbender named Gyatso. As the reluctant companions delve deeper into their wayward mission, they begin to realize that even greater threats lie ahead. Plagued by self-doubt but eager to prove himself, Roku fights for his life and the lives of others while ensuring that the hidden secret of the island doesn’t fall into the wrong hands. This searing fifth installment in the Chronicles of the Avatar series explores the beginning of Roku’s journey from privileged Fire Nation noble to the powerful but indecisive Avatar whose hesitancy may ultimately pave the way for the Hundred Year War.

Reading Update
Not Bleach-related, but since this is where I've been putting my writing updates, in my mind it's also where my reading ones should go. I basically only get to read things May-August, so I've been on a tear. But I keep reading things I don't end up liking? Which, HELP. WHY.
It makes me feel like such a hater, or someone who's too closed-off to things outside of my expectations that I automatically, anti-intellectually hate it, but then I'm like, okay, but I have not picked up a single fanfic this year that I did not think was brilliant. I have seen three movies this year I thought were brilliant (Fancy Dance, Evil Does Not Exist, and the Haikyuu movie, the last of which is definitely 100% like the other two)! I have read a lot of really fantastic article-length creative nonfiction that I also found brilliant!
MAYBE I JUST DON'T LIKE BOOKS.
Books I Really Liked
The Souvenir Museum - Elizabeth McCracken
Flux - Jinwoo Chong
Run Me To Earth - Paul Yoon
Shadow Life - Hiromi Goto
I know I just said "not Bleach-related," I actually think some Bleach folks would be into a lot of these, depending on where your specific interests within Bleach lie.
The Souvenir Museum had fabulous character work, and I love what I'm beginning to feel is something signature about McCracken, in that most of these stories were realist New England fiction and then out of the blue she slid one in there that was sorta-supernatural and also about cannibalism. Love that for her! Love that for me.
Flux is a speculative time travel thriller, but where it stands out is how much trust it places in its audience to follow along and hop in medias res with all these characters and premises. There's no extraneous exposition or explainers; it just drops you in the deep end and it's so much fun. There's also a lot in this book that is about TV and fandom and while I usually find it hard to buy into depictions of these things this book gets it so, so right for me. And the dialogue is fantastically tight and snappy and so full of life--I loved Part 1 in particular, and the book is worth it just for that!
Run Me To Earth is beautiful. Trenchant, haunting. Each character feels like a small poem, living and breathing and doing their best to avoid unexploded ordinances while riding a motorbike. And bonus Inuzuri vibes for me
(And Shadow Life I already talked about here. That's the one where a lady traps Death inside of her vacuum cleaner.)
Books I Am Actively Annoyed By
All That’s Left Unsaid - Tracey Lien
Your Driver is Waiting - Priya Guns
The Thousand Crimes of Ming Tsu - Tom Lin
AKA "maybe I just don't like genre fiction." These were a mystery, lesbian thriller, and western, respectively, and the whole time I was basically like, "we're really just doing this, huh?" In each of these, the character work wasn't strong enough to make the story, and I guess from each I expected more critical engagement with the genre? And not "we're going to un-self-consciously depict and then slaughter a bunch of bloodthirsty Indians because THAT'S WHAT WESTERNS DO." These were all books that sounded theoretically interesting to me but in practice were very not.
Nonfiction That I Wish Had Been Better
Undrowned: Black Feminist Lessons from Marine Mammals - Alexis Pauline Gumbs
Dear Elia - Mimi Khuc
What We Talk About When We Talk About Rape - Sohaila Abdulali
Mott Street - Ava Chin
How to Read Now, Elaine Castillo
Eating Wildly - Ava Chin [DNF]
I think I'm just a pop nonfiction hater, because my issue with all of these is that they often felt like too-superficial treatments of their subject or seemed extremely (sometimes intentionally) undercited. Multiple of these kept making assertions about having developed an original thesis/practice or never having seen X in the world, when that's simply not true. These just make me think about all of the stylistically brilliant, incredibly thoughtful creative nonfiction being published online/in magazines, and how pale these book-length treatments feel in comparison.
(Almost) Everything Else
River East, River West - Aub Rey Lescure (this is the Naruto hentai book)
Our Missing Hearts - Celeste Ng
I Would Meet You Anywhere - Susan Ito
Tea: History, Terroirs, Varieties - Kevin Gascoyne
Bowlaway - Elizabeth McCracken
Book I Could Not Physically Read Because I Hated it So Much I Couldn't Stand It
The Leftover Woman, Jean Kwok
Future Reads
Four Treasures of the Sky - Jenny Zhang
Pnin - Vladimir Nabokov
Miko Kings, LeAnne Howe
A Bestiary - Lily Hoang

I'm definitely only thinking about this cause I'm a custodian but who cleans the Watchtower?? Cause I can't imagine anyone on the Justice League voluntarily cleaning a bathroom except Clark and maybe Diana. In Justice League Unlimited the Watchtower has a support staff of hundreds and presumably there's a team of custodians in that crew somewhere, but what about universes where they don't have support staff?
Do they have a rotating schedule where they divide up duties and take it in turns? How often is this done? How thorough are they? Cause thoroughly cleaning a structure that large would take a lot of time and they're all very busy people living double lives. How is waste collected and removed from the Tower? I'm assuming cleaning supplies and related equipment would be acquired in a similar way to any other equipment they use.
Can you imagine the League having meetings where they're like "okay we have to get better at taking out our trash cause the can in the kitchen is always overflowing" and arguing over whose turn it is to sweep the floors this week? Bruce will ask Alfred for advice on the most efficient way to clean a bathroom and will do it out of necessity but dread when his turn comes up. Clark is the best of all them at completing his duties and he doesn't even cheat using super speed. All of them at some point will put all of the Tower's garbage into one trash bag because they can lift it no matter how heavy it is and then the bag will tear and spill everywhere because the heroes might be very strong but these bags sure aren't. Several of them will forget which cleaner is used for which task and make that task harder for the next person to do it cause the chemical the first person used made the surface much dirtier than it normally would be. Do they assume they have to mop the floors by hand or do they know there are machines that will scrub the floor sooo much faster and also suck up all the water? Do they use a regular broom for sweeping or save themselves a ton of time and use a nice wide dust mop?
I'm going with no carpet cause satellite in space so no vacuuming needed but I do have several Thoughts on how that could go wrong too. The cord not being long enough or getting in the way. Several team members not realizing it's a model that uses bags and that those need to be replaced when they get full. So much hair getting wrapped around the beater bar. Several people not realizing there's a detachable crevice tool to get in smaller spaces. Several people clogging it by sucking up things that are too big. If they have a cordless battery powered model they forget to charge the batteries. All in all it's better to not burden them with a vacuum let's just say all the floors can be swept and mopped.
Now I kinda want a fic where they try doing it all themselves and after a few months they're like "this is not working" and then they decide they need support staff. Online job postings for "Watchtower Custodian Urgently Needed, Some Experience Required." World's weirdest job interview. Having your background check done by fucking Batman
#stella speaks#apparently i had more thoughts about this than i realized lol. started typing headcanons and they just kept coming#also yes the chemical making the surface dirtier is a thing that has happened to me multiple times#due to a coworker not knowing the right cleaner to use#which is very annoying#and yes the trash bag thing has (almost) happened a couple of times#where *i* can handle the weight of the trash but the bag is too thin and cannot#luckily i've never broken one so thoroughly it spilled everywhere but it's something i gotta watch out for#i have so many questions about how the watchtower works and very few of them are hero related lol#like- i assume they have bathrooms and probably at least a small kitchen. how does their plumbing work?#justice league#dcu

for @nosebleedclub's january prompts no. 16 — the grey coat with red lining.
the front door is brown. and the walls inside are a dry beige. your mother insisted that soft neutral colors look good for interior, but you never saw eye to eye with her about home aesthetics. the coat rack is thankfully black. the coat you use everyday is grey — although at the rate it's going, you won't be surprised if it's more the color of dust and the real grey of the material.
the office is half a city away and you commute everyday at five twenty, coming back just shy after nine. the grey coat is like a protective armor with a lot of history. your brother had a phase in highschool when he thought fashion was the only way of self-expression that was ever valid and bought a whole sewing machine. his first result, the fabrics from god-knows-where, is this battered grey coat. it's downright horrendous, worn and torn at the edges thanks to the amateur handicraft and the everyday use. the red lining on it clashes horribly against the base color — he said once it was a symbolism of one's immense passion rebelling against the system that forces everyone into molds and turns people into copies of robots, robots into copies of people. you've used this coat everyday for two years since you started working at the office.
your current job pays well. well enough to put food on the table. well, that's a lie. your mother puts the food on the table. your father passed away two years ago. your mother still cooks the same dishes she's always cooked, places the food atop of the same cracked ceramic plates she's always had, tells the same anecdotes of her sweet youth and your father's hardships through his life as she's always done. but you're the one who wins the bread to be cooked into toast every morning, even if your mother is the one who has to turn on the toaster and wash the dishes after you've gone off to work, even if your brother mourns and mourns and coops himself up in his room, ladden with grief, and your sister is too young to understand anything. in this sense, your current job pays well — well enough your mother doesn't have to look for another fulltime job, although she does take up knitting to sell some scarves, and well enough someone always has some time to place the dinner plate in front of your brother's door and well enough your sister can still grin a toothy smile everytime you buy her a new toy for christmas and tell her santa thinks she's a good child.
well enough for you to buy another coat.
it's hard to pinpoint why exactly you haven't bought one. on the online shopping platform you use nowadays, everything is cheaper when you know the tricks. soap and shampoo, frying oil, a new vacuum cleaners when the old one broke, canned tuna your sister maybe likes too much to be healthy, the tote bag you got for your best friend's birthday last january, the yarns for your mother. coupons, vouchers, discounts, sales, promotions — everything can be a trick utilized when you're in need or it can all also be a trick used on you, the needy. you've scrolled through dozens of coat options, all grey, without red linings and varying degrees less ugly than your current one. every time, your thumb hovers over the little cart icon and you hit the back button on your scratched phone screen.
there are other important things you could get instead. your shoulders sag with weight and your mind clears.
there are still other bills you need to pay. you go over the numbers when you wake up in the morning and once again when you're about to sleep in the night.
there are two siblings, one who still needs his time to slowly rise out of his cocoon, another one who is barely a budding sprout, a mere seed. there is one mother, smile lines visible and skin starting to dull, too old to be selling her soul to keep strangers warm in the winter.
these days, your eyes burn a lot and you wonder if you need to check it out or if it's that hard to admit that you always want to cry. the new coat can wait. the red lining is still strong, no matter how muddied the grey fabric is looking — it's not breaking anytime soon. it can hold the fort still a while longer, maybe you just need to sort out your priorities and budget a little tighter for now.

15 Questions and 15 Mutuals
literally LOSING MY MIND that i was tagged in this 😭 thank you @outer-edges
Were you named after anyone?
no, but my older brother told me i was named after a vacuum cleaner brand and i believed that for a couple years. 💀
When was the last time you cried?
today!! i cried over the end of nimona. one thing you should know about me is that children’s animated movies are constantly destroying me. (see: puss in boots 2, both spiderverse movies, the sea beast, fantastic mr. fox, i can keep going—)
Do you have kids?
nope! no nieces or nephews either. idk what i’m gonna do when i become an aunt bc i don’t know how to talk to kids. 😭 i feel like kristen stewart in that snl duolingo for kids sketch.
Do you use sarcasm a lot?
not online but i feel like A LOT in person. maybe too much.
What's the first thing you notice about people?
this is weird but… hair color? where i live, natural brunettes are dwindling because everyone’s dying their hair blonde. 😭 whenever i meet a natural brunette in the wild i always feel an instant kinship. we are bonded for life. we can never dye our hair.
What's your eye color?
blue!! i’m irrationally proud of it because my entire family has brown eyes. i’m cool. i’m ~different.~
Scary movies or happy endings?
HAPPY ENDINGS!!!! this is because i don’t watch scary movies, ever. any movie that is slightly “scary” is off-limits bc i am a huge coward. i can’t even watch the nightmare before christmas.💀

SEBO Vacuum Cleaners: Canister and Felix Models for Superior Home Cleaning
What is a Vacuum Cleaner?
A vacuum cleaner, also known as simply a vacuum, or a hoover if you happen to be British, is a machine that uses suction to remove dust, dirt, pet hair, and other debris from floors or other surfaces in your home. This debris is then stored either in a replaceable sealed dust-bag or in an emptiable compartment/container for later disposal.
What Is a HEPA Filter?
Its canister sebo vacuum may have a sieve filter to catch the largest dust and foam or other dense material options that catch smaller particles. These are mechanical filtration systems because they only deal with the physical stoppage of dust and other tiny things.
As amazing as any type of filter seems, it is not worth it if it does not remove potentially dangerous or unhealthy particles from the air. This is how it works with a HEPA filter.
1 — You vacuum your floors or other surfaces in the normal way. The dust, debris, and particles get sucked up through the hose or tube and pass through the filters contained within the vacuum.
2 — The mechanical filters made of mesh or foam catch the largest particles first. This group includes things like pet hair, clumps of dust, and small pieces of debris. In a machine with a disposable bag, these fly into it right away and get caught in there.
3 — The smaller particles pass through the first filter and get caught on the next. Many vacuum cleaners have multiple mechanical filters with denser construction to catch more particles.
Whether you go to a home goods store or shop online at a vacuum cleaner store like this one, you know there are dozens of different brands and models on the market today. How can you choose when there are so many options? Although comparing individual machines is an important part of the process, first you have to decide on the best type of vacuum cleaner for your home.
In some cases, it will make sense to have more than one vacuum. This is especially true if you have many different types of flooring, have pets or children, do any messy hobbies like woodworking, or simply have a very large house. Explore the different options below and make an informed decision before your next vacuum cleaner sebo purchase.
Advantages
The entire vacuum cleaner is self-contained, stored easily in a closet, and has efficient sucking power to keep your floors clean all the time. Most models have onboard HEPA or other filters to help improve air quality, too
Disadvantages
The compact shape of an upright vacuum creates a disadvantage for some users. First of all, they are not adjustable in any way, so it may be awkward to use for very tall or short people. Also, everything is attached to the handle, the overall weight that you have to push around across your floors is higher than with some other vacuum types.
conlcusion
SEBO vacuums, including the versatile canister models and the efficient Felix vacuum cleaner, deliver outstanding performance, durability, and advanced filtration. Perfect for all floor types, they ensure a cleaner, healthier home with ease.
