Top 10 Ships Involving POC in 10 Different Fandoms (Round 4)

Thanks to the wonderful @welldressedllama for the tag! 🥰 Just for funsies, this time I’m doing enemies-to-lovers/rivals-to-lovers/maybe-not-traditional-enemies-but-way-too-antagonistic-to-not-fit-the-bill-to-lovers edition. In no particular order:

1) Macy Vaughn x Abigael Jameson-Caine (Macigael) - Charmed CW

I ultimately respect the AbiMel plot, but these two were literally Right There. Excellent chemistry from moment one and they perfectly mirrored each other with Macy as a witch with demon blood (struggling with darkness) and Abigael as a demon with witch blood (struggling to accept lightness). To think of what could have been with the two of them and the acceptance of good and bad and the whole complex mess of the self makes me insaneeee

2) Nicky Shen x Zhilan Zhang (Zhicky) - Kung Fu CW

Idek what to say their dynamic was just so fun and watching them begrudgingly grow close was chef's kiss.

3) Eve Polastri x Villanelle (Villaneve) - Killing Eve

Literally THE enemies to lovers imho. What more do I need to say? Eve said seduction into my darkness? Yes please. Villanelle said feel emotions for one (1) woman and obsess over her? Okay. They're enemies AND lovers. They've both tried to kill each other. So? They get each other like no one else. No one's doing it like them

4) Scott McCall x Theo Raeken (Sceo) - Teen Wolf

Sorry but I'm clawing at the walls, gnawing on my hands, howling at the moon over them. Exploring all the tension and the guilt and the fear and the longing is delicious. And the layer of long-lost friends? The subtle seduction into trust and the mutual destruction on Theo's part? Sorry I'm crazy about it sorry.

5) Mona Vanderwaal x Spencer Hastings (Vanderstings/Spemona?) - Pretty Little Liars

Somebody in this fandom needs to tell me right meow why they're not a bigger thing??? Quintessential 'they hate each other's guts but no one matches their freak better'. Throw Hanna in the mix and that's the perfect formulation, but they hold their own on enemies-to-lovers grounds sooooooo well.

6) Raven Reyes x John Murphy (Murven) - The 100

Truth be told they're not my top ship for each other BUT they are the epitome of enemies to friends (to lovers). Some of the best relationship development I can think of.

7) Bonnie Bennett x Nora Hildegard (Bonnora) - The Vampire Diaries

Literally why were they not a thing? Bonenzo ily but look at them! They had such a fun little antagonistic flirty thing and Nora was canonically crushing on Bonnie. All I want is queer Bonnie and I was so close to having it

8) Kitty Covey x Yuri Han (Kitturi) - XO Kitty

Kitty literally took one look at rival Yuri making music and crossed that thin line from hate to love. Girl was like "I will take this Angry tension and transform it into Sexual tension" and I respect that

9) Kathani "Kate" Sharma x Anthony Bridgerton (Kanthony) - Bridgerton

I've only watched one full episode and seen random bits here and there but I'm obsessed with her and I'm obsessed with them. Literally scene one I was all in. They are the bane of my existence and the object of all my desires

10) Luke Alvez x Penelope Garcia (Garvez) - Criminal Minds

I missed Morgan as much as the next guy, but Penelope and Luke's banter and chemistry is unmatched. Shame on the new seasons for lying to me and saying they went on a date but didn't have the same chemistry, that is such Bull

Honorable mention: Zafira x Nasir (Nasira? Nafira?) from the Sands of Arawiya duology, who I feel I cannot officially include because I have only read a small excerpt so far, but I expect to like very much

Alrighty! It is officially the first day of March, you know what that means!

We will only have respect here. If there’s a fandom you don’t like, either keep it to yourself or leave. This is a judgement free zone.

As for the maths part, I did not specifically count the amount of words I read every day. For fics that took multiple days to read, I took the word count and divided it by the number of days it took to finish, and then I counted that for the per day. That means there might be some days where I didn’t actually read anything, bet because I was in the middle of a fic and finished said fic a different day, that day got a word count. I do not promise perfection, just my best efforts!

With that out of the way, here are the Stats!

In total, I read 159 fics this month, that’s an average of 5.5 (rounded number) fics a day!

General Event Info

Here are the rules and requirements and general info for all Sterek & Stuff events:

New or unpublished works accepted. (Feel free to combine with other events!) No maximum for word count or amount of works.

There are three kinds of events:

Seasonal: 2 or more full moons and generally a solstice or equinox, over 5 weeks. 15-24 prompts.

Moon: 1 moon (full, eclipse or other phases.) Under 5 weeks and during or between seasonal events. 10-13 prompts.

Mini: May or may not be moon related. I'm thinking for more random or trope centered ideas. 1 week or less. 5-7 prompts and/or 3 tropes.

Writers

Seasonal events:

3,000 words minimum using 3 or more prompts. This can be one fic or multiple works of at least 1,000 words each.  

Moon events:

1,500 words minimum using 2 or more prompts. This can be for one fic or multiple works of at least 750 words each.

Mini events:

500 words minimum (unless paying the Sterek Toll) using 1 or more prompts/tropes.

Combo writers: If you're doing an art post or a standalone mix too then only the single work minimum is required for Seasonal and Moon events. (1,000 or 750 words.)

Artists

Seasonal events:

Use 3 or more of the prompts to create visuals (drawings, gifsets, manips, vids/edits, moodboards, etc.) Can be one work or multiple. 

Moon events:

Use 2 or more prompts to create visuals (drawings, gifsets, manips, vids/edits, moodboards, etc.) Can be one work or multiple.

Mini events: Use 1 or more prompts to create visuals (drawings, gifsets, manips, vids/edits, moodboards, etc.)

Combo artists: If you're doing a standalone mix too then only 1 prompt is required for art.

Mixers

There are 2 options for standalone fanmixes:

1. Use the prompts (3+ Seasonal, 2+ Moon or 1+ Mini,) to make a playlist. Events will either have a particular number as one of the prompts -- which is how many songs it should have -- or other instructions. Arrange them however you like: all grouped together in segments, whatever flows best, randomly, etc.

2. Make a playlist using 1 song for every prompt (in any order.)

If you’re attaching a playlist to a fanfic or art post:

Do whatever you want! But you get extra cool points for using the event number of tracks and/or some of your prompts.

Put your playlists on Spotify, YouTube or both so I can listen to them. 😉

Content:

These events are primarily for generating more Sterek, but it’s Sterek & Stuff for a reason. I’m a multishipper and some of you might be too, so the deal is if you pay the Sterek Toll you can do other Teen Wolf ships (or pre-ships and gen) in separate works should you desire.

The Sterek Toll is:

Seasonal: At least 2 prompts. 1,000+ words of Sterek for writers and 1 piece of art for artists.

Moon: At least 1 prompt. 750+ words of Sterek for writers and 1 piece of art for artists.

Mini: At least 1 prompt. 500+ words of Sterek for writers (so 1,000+ total for the event) and 1 piece of art for artists.

Music is generally up to interpretation so unless you go out of your way to say it’s not for Sterek don’t worry about it, lol. But if mixers want a toll too then it's 10 tracks, 2+ prompts for seasonal events and 1+ prompts for moon events, or 5 tracks with 1+ prompts for mini events.

There will be Sterek Only subcollections on AO3 and separate Sterek and NonSterek posts on Tumblr (with the exception of one or two post-event total round ups along with the other round ups.)

To count as a Sterek fic Stiles and Derek have to be together by the end. The story should focus on them, but feel free to include secondary characters and ships too. 

Sterek Plus and Sterek Poly go in the other ships category and is subject to the Sterek Toll.

Allowed:

Any secondary or background ship.

Crossovers as long as the focus is on Sterek (or other TW characters if you’ve paid the Sterek Toll.)

Angst, whump, and dark themes as long as there's nothing from the Nope section.

Nope:

(Not judging, I just plan on reading everything so am selfishly dictating things to my tastes, lol.)

No permanent death of Stiles or Derek. If you’re doing a series with the same story then they both have to be alive and together (or have the possibility of being together in the future) in the last related work. (This applies to other TW works too and no permanently killing off whoever is in that main ship either, if applicable.)

No miserable, tragic endings. Everything doesn’t have to be perfect and happily ever after, but the last related work should at least have a hopeful, “we’ll make the best of this shit,” or open ending for Stiles and Derek (or other main character/ship.) 

No explicit descriptions or depictions of sexual activity for characters under 16. (Kissing, dating, references or vague descriptions are okay.)

No bestiality. (As in regular animals. Xeno /Tera with beta, alpha, or full shifted Derek, Stiles, etc, is okay.)

No scat.

No necrophilia, wound-fucking, and such. (Bloodplay, vampires, post vanquishing-our-enemies getting it on, etc, is okay.)

No Real Person Fiction. (As in Hobrien instead of Sterek. If you want Stiles, Derek, etc, to randomly run into Edgar Allan Poe or the Rock or something that's fine, lol.)

Make sure to tag accurately!

Posting:

Begins when the event does. See individual event info for dates.

On Tumblr:

Tag your work here with #(event) and #(prompt) for each prompt that you use, (ex: #spring moons equiphlox, # spring moons equiphlox arranged, #spring moons equiphlox sleepy, #spring moons eclipse whisper,) and @sterek-and-stuff-events. 

If you're doing multiple works either add links to the previous ones at the end or give them all the same tag (ex: #sbm trisk.) Or both.

On AO3:

Collections will be added here either the first day or a day or two before the event.

If it's a Sterek work add it to both Sterek subcollections, general and event specific. (Ex: SaS_Sterek, Sterek_Blue_Moon.) It'll go to the parent collections too.

If it's NonSterek/Sterek+ add it to both parent collections. (Ex: Sterek_and_Stuff_Events, SaS_Blue_Moon.)

If you’re doing multiple works put them in a series.

Late posting

Events go until whenever the next one starts.

When that happens you can still use previous prompts, but you have to make something with the current ones too, either adding the new prompts (3, 2, or 1) to the others or doing separate works.

If the latter, post the current event work first. Only the one work minimum -- 1,000, 750 or 500 words, 1 prompt art, etc -- is needed if the other(s) meet the event requirements. Ex: Posting 1,100 words and using 3 prompts for a current Seasonal event & 2,050 words and 2 prompts from a previous Moon event counts as 3,000+ for the current Seasonal event.

Collections will remain open at least until a similar event comes around the following year.

These are my... 2...? Maybe 50, cents about the whole "freejk" thing. I'm gonna be extremely petty and at some points a whole lot sarcastic and it's gonna be long but I had to say it. As soon as I get my computer I'm gonna make it under read more, but the app does whatever it wants, as we know.

Listen, this ain't my first fan rodeo, and not even the first fan rodeo where I've been directly or indirectly accused of being some sort of pervert or delulu. I've been in fandom spaces since I was a teen, I was shipping mlm couples when queerbaiting in TV shows was still something that was seen as the norm rather than some cheap disgusting trick. I was there when fanfic spaces saw "slash" fics as something "different" and to be tagged with a more mature rating even when they just looked at each other.

I was in BBC's Sherlock's fandom and I shipped Johnlock during the hiatus between S3 and S4, at this point I'm not even feeling it when people call me delulu or a weirdo.

So, yeah, take this with a grain of salt: as a person who has seen thousands of times fandom drama unfolding and has lived too much of it... This whole situation is so ridiculous it makes me laugh. Like, yeah, it's maddening how people will blame anyone and everyone because they don't even see their own bias and homophobia, granted, but like... It also makes me laugh for the sheer dumbassery of the reasoning behind it all?

Like... Y'all are getting mad and for what? Because it sure as hell isn't the invasion of privacy, since y'all are watching the same content we're all watching and you're paying to see it the same way everyone else is. If you don't want to "invade their privacy", you should just... Stop watching content that isn't their music videos, RUN episodes or interviews. Memories and any kind of dvd/video that shows what they're doing behind the scenes shouldn't be part of their job as musicians, and therefore we're intruding in their privacy... Or aren't we?

Or maybe it's more nuanced than that: maybe the content they release on dvd/on their official channels is part of their job as entertainers, and it's been approved, and it's a small window THEY are granting us.

You know what's the REAL invasion of privacy and what REALLY invalidates someone autonomy? When you, who maybe aren't even paying to see that content (which is something I understand, like, dude, I'm not covered in money either), DEMAND what kind of behind the scenes content you want when I swear ABSOLUTELY NO ONE has asked you. Once again: you don't like it? You think it's some huge invasion of privacy? Don't buy it. Don't interact with it. Convince your friends to do the same. For all I care, just go and petition to boycott this kind of content. I know you won't do it, because... That's the thing, isn't it? It's not the invasion of privacy that bothers these people.

Y'all aren't mad because we get into their business or else you would have gotten real mad when we were privy to REAL private moments like people crying their hearts out.

No, no. Y'all are mad because it's "shipping content" and "fanservice" which apparently bothers you because it lacks authenticity.

Pick a side, lovelies: either you DON'T want to invade their privacy, and thus all the content they release should be focused on what fans want to see, or you WANT to know how they interact TRULY in private.

And here's the catch: "shipping content" can be anything. Shipping existed WAAAAAYYY before the word for it was invented, same way with fanfictions. Shipping means, literally, "seeing two (or more) people interact and thinking they would make a good romantic pair". That's it. That's quite literally it. Everything else is just some nuance of the concept of shipping, but at its core, it's nearly impossible to ban all shipping content when it's a group of seven people, because they should for real go in social distancing mode to do so. Most people who have parasocial relationships tend to have "ships" whether they know it or not, because we've all, at least once, looked at a dynamic from the outside and thought "oh man they look cute together". So, even if, o dear ones, your wishes were granted... What the hell do you mean by "shipping" content? Should they just film solo clips, avoiding talking about the other members? But wouldn't that be fanservice, since it's focused on pleasing the fans? (Which, ultimately, is what fanservice MEANS, and I hate to break it to y'all but the whole concept behind entertainment and thus all the content BTS releases it's... For the fans. Like, they're not going out of their way to just meet our expectations but they're certainly doing fanservice by the mere act of releasing bonus content.)

But it's not even quite that, is it? Because no one bats an eye if it's Tae kissing Nj's cheek. I've seen no hashtag against everyone - and I mean literally every one of them - wolf whistling at Nj. It's okay to show intimacy... Because they're bandmates and it's okay to be close to someone who you see basically 24/7, I hear you. And it's also okay when people see that and gush over that closeness, because it's such a nice thing to see.

Soooooo... We've got to free JK from whom exactly? From what?

Are y'all mad cause people pointed out there's very little way a bruise that stayed for a whole ass night could be a quick bite? Because that doesn't harm jk, at most makes fun of him and jimin and their poor excuses (seriously, guys, next time consider using mosquitoes or "I was doing stuff". It'll be equally embarrassing but at least the meme will be funny), and it's literally... A fair observation. Like. It's a hickey, people are gonna make jokes about seeing a hickey and poor excuses of covering it up in the exact same way they're gonna make jokes over jimin falling out of chairs. And yeah, a hickey is AT LEAST something that happens in a sensual context. Like, I could understand "people who are extremely familiar with each other will have different body language/touch in areas where usually you wouldn't see friends touching each other", but that's not. Not a hand on the thigh. It's a hickey on the neck. I don't even know a more stereotypical placing for a hickey. But once again, are y'all mad because someone is pointing it out? Because that's not being delulu or even being a shipper, really, it's just commenting on something that was approved to be shown and discussed in something that was released BY THEM.

Are y'all mad at hybe for showing something that literally fell onto their hands? Cause like, unless someone (I'm counting on Jimin, since as we know Jungkook was busy spinning him round and round and had both his hands busy) called at hybe headquarters to say "yo bang pd substitute, is it okay if I give my friend jk here a hickey? Cause he's being really annoying rn and he has to pay", I highly doubt anyone expected Jungkook to come to rehearsal all neatly marked up. Or idk, maybe someone at hybe asked them "we need Jungkook to come in with a hickey but refuse to say it's a hickey, so that fans will feel reeeeally served." That sounds perfectly plausible too. Or a good marketing strategy.

Now, if you're a big company and your objective is to have some footage of the rehearsals for a concert, and the fandom is too good at noticing stuff for their own good, and one of your artists comes in with a very visible mark, and he and his bff bropal4lyfe come n with a story about how they were playing and a bite happened, you've got three choices: 1. Cut the artist out of aaaaalll the footage. Someone would have noticed the "bite mark" anyway, you best believe that. If you don't want anyone to notice it, you gotta cut him in most of the footage where it's visible. 2. Keep the hickey, discard the explanations. You could do that, but also it would feel a lot more unfaithful to everyone involved. Also they clearly worked their ass off to invent an explanation, come on! They truly tried to do their best inventing something that was not "it's a mosquito bite", they should get some credit! 3. Keep the bite, keep the explanation.

Notice how none of these solutions include the biting never happening because... They couldn't prevent it? The only thing they have any control over is how they're framing each "accident". And that's not an easy job.

I applaud you, people on the editing team.

So... On whom should we cast the blame now? Ah, yes, I think it's finally time for the ultimate scapegoat of this fandom: Jimin. Which is funny, cause... You know... If this were really about privacy, or being "victims" of shipping... This should be about freeing him too, you know? But obviously Jimin does it for attention, while Jungkook, poor angel that he is, doesn't even know what shipping is.

Furthermore, don't we all know how much Jimin imposes himself in Jungkook's life? To the point where he, multimillionaire man feels compelled to share a car with Jimin even if they're both late in the process. And can't you see how uncomfortable he is, draping himself over Jimin, making Jimin drap himself over him?

Oh lordy, truly such an awful eight years Jungkook spent, choosing to have vacations with someone who made him uncomfortable, spending free time with him, even having to suck his ear in public to the point you can see his saliva just because Jimin was sad :( truly an all-around bad time for Jungkook, as evidenced by alllll those times when he said Jimin was pretty, cute, and all-around knowing every little thing about Jimin. I absolutely concur, the dude would be so much more happy if jimin was not in his life.

Did that sound weird and absolutely ridiculous and a really absurd joke? Because that's what y'all sound like to me. Like. Jungkook is out there living his best life, getting hickeys and showered in affection and y'all paint him as a fucking martyr??? I'm sure he's really truly desperate that Jimin holds him in such high regards 😭😭😭 I can see him suffering whenever he starts doing his own serendipity rendition 😭😭 and when he claimed you are me, I am you as his and Jimin's only 😭😭😭 I cannot believe this poor baby 😭😭😭

I've reached a point where every time I hear this stuff I laugh because the levels of twisting reality when it comes to jikook are extraordinary, Jungkook will have a literally blissed out face and people will cry in outrage.

But coming back to my point: let's pretend you're not mad at Jimin and the possibility that jikook are dating: are y'all mad... At the hickey? Because at this point it seems like the only feasible solution. And if you are, do not worry: I'm sure Jungkook's skin was throughly healed by his boo. A kiss soothes even the worst pain, doesn't it?

AKA the Pirates AU for rudennotgingr Ten x Rose

Pirates roam the waters surrounding the islands of the Kasterborous Constellation, but not all of them are what they seem. When Lady Rose Tyler rejoins her parents in the Gallifreyan colony, she meets two men: James McCrimmon, the first nobleman who doesn’t bore her to tears, and the Doctor, a pirate who promises to keep her safe… from the pirates. What is going on in the Constellation, and how is it connected to the nefarious doings of the Master?

The Tardis glided through the waters of the Constellation, with the sun on her deck and the wind at her back. Jack stood on the quarterdeck with his hand on the wheel and squinted through a mild headache.

The crew had spent the night unloading their loot on Powell Isle, Mickey’s home and one of the poorer islands in the region. And when they were done, they’d all enjoyed several glasses of excellent rum at the tavern where Lady Tyler and Lady Rose had been working when Lord Tyler found them again.

The results of the night were threefold: he was feeling a little worse for the wear today, the unburdened Tardis was flying over the water, and he had a greater understanding and respect for the woman James had chosen to marry.

“Captain!”

Jack’s head swung up so he could see the lookout. “Tell me you’ve got good news for me, Nancy!” he called back to the young woman in the crow’s nest.

Even with the distance in between them, he could tell she was shaking her head—her dark braid swung heavily from side to side before dropping over her right shoulder. “I just spotted the Master, sir.” Jack swore, but she shook her head again. “He’s not changing course to intercept. He’s going north by northwest.”

Jack quickly visualised a map of the Constellation, and he swore again. “He’s going to Arcadia.”

“Yes, sir.”

“Keep an eye out,” Jack ordered. “Let me know if you spot him again.”

He turned the wheel, pointing the ship towards Arcadia. He could think of only one reason the Master would be sailing for the Governor’s island. He just hoped they could get there in time to save Rose.

Rose hummed a soft tune as she walked home from the Wolf and the Storm. Her afternoon with Wilf and Dona had been merrier than usual, as they celebrated the first real victory over the Daleks in years. The fact that it had been won by pirates, not the Navy, didn’t make it any less important in the ongoing war.

Rose’s secret hopes had already turned to thoughts of James coming home with a letter of marque and a wedding with her dashing pirate captain. After a six-month separation, she had no desire to put the ceremony off any longer than they had to.

As she walked past an alley, a hand shot out and grabbed her. Another hand clamped down over her mouth, stifling her scream. Her attacker wrapped an arm around her torso, pinning her arms to her sides and forcing her to stand uncomfortably close to him.

“Shhh, let me explain,” he whispered in her ear when she struggled and kicked at him, trying to get free.  

Rose twisted her neck so she could look at him, letting him see exactly what she thought of his orders. To her annoyance, the man whistled, then a slow smile spread across his face.

“I can see why the Doc fell in love with you,” he murmured. “Definitely nothing like the other ladies he’s met.”

Rose’s struggles slowed as the man’s words sank in. She could only think of two pirates who might know she was courting the Doctor, and this man didn’t seem to possess the cruelty that characterised the Master. She raised her eyebrows at him, hoping it would convey her question.

The man frowned, but only for a second. “Oh! I’m Captain Jack Harkness. Jamie told you about me, remember? The one he wasn’t sure he wanted to introduce you to?”

Relief swept over Rose, and she nodded furiously. Jack grinned at her, and in his smile, she could see what James meant about the other man being a flirt. She rolled her eyes at him, and he released her with a chuckle.

“Don’t worry, Lady Rose. I have no designs on my best friend’s love.”

“Good,” Rose retorted, though not without a smile. “Now, where exactly is James? What kind of plan did you come up with? And why are you here?”

Jack reached for her hand and pulled her through the alleyway. “The plan has been shot to hell,” he said bluntly. “And we need to get away from Arcadia before it’s too late.”

For the first time, Rose spotted the lines around his mouth and realised how low he was keeping his voice. This part of Arcadia was not unfriendly to pirates, so why was he being so secretive?

Jack stopped at the other end of the alley and looked around the corner, his gaze sweeping in both directions before he quickly pulled Rose across the street.

“What exactly is going on, Jack?” Rose demanded when they reached the other side.

He sighed and ran his free hand through his hair. “All right, taking your questions one at a time,” he said as they strode through the abandoned alley. “The Doctor is on Cadon, but I think you knew that already. As to our plan and why all the secrecy… The Master threatened you a few months ago. Well, the Doc has never been willing to take him down, but a threat to your life was enough to push him over the edge.”

Jack looked up at her, and the serious expression in his blue eyes hit Rose hard. “The Doctor loves you, Lady Rose. He would do anything to keep you safe.”

Rose swallowed back the sudden lump in her throat. “And I love him. So you can imagine how it felt when I thought he might have been taken by the Daleks. Even though I realised almost immediately that it was some sort of ruse… that first hour hurt. And not knowing where he is or what he’s doing still hurts.”

She looked away from him to regain control of her emotions, and as she did, she took in her surroundings. Jack was slowly leading her towards the abandoned harbour on the opposite end of town from the newer port.

When she looked at Jack again, his blue eyes were soft with sympathy. “I’m sorry for that, especially since the plan was my idea. But if it works, you’ll have him back permanently. The end goal is to capture the Master and turn him in in exchange for a letter of marque. That’s why he liberated Cadon first—to lure the Master over the blockade and into a trap.”

“Yes, I’d worked out most of that. And I think my father is ready to give him that letter, even just with the liberation of Cadon. Capturing the Master will be the icing on the cake.”

They stopped on the edge of the road that ran along the old harbour, and Jack shook his head. “No, capturing the Master is the most important part,” he countered. He scanned their surroundings before looking back at her. “Because it’s the only way to keep you safe.”

Rose tilted her head and thought for a second, then sucked in a breath. “The Master was on his way to Arcadia to abduct me, wasn’t he?” she whispered.

Jack nodded once, then jerked his head toward the pier where Rose could see a small dinghy waiting. They ran across the street and down the aged dock, then jumped into the boat.

Rose got another surprise when she saw the sailor with his hand on the rudder. “Mickey!”

Her childhood friend grinned and waved at her. “Fancy meeting you here,” he quipped.

“You two know each other?” Jack asked, then answered his own question. “Right, you’re both from Powell Isle.”

He pointed at Mickey. “Get us moving.We need to get back to the Tardis now.”

Mickey unfurled the sail and Jack looked back at Rose. “Jamie said you were clever, but I didn’t expect you to figure it all out on your own,” he told her, finally answering her earlier question. “Yes, the watch spotted the Master heading this way about three hours ago. Once I realised his heading, I knew there was only one reason he would sail for Arcadia, and we took a shortcut to get here first.”

Rose moved automatically to help Mickey get the boat moving. She was a lady now, but she’d been an island girl for most of her life, and she knew her way around the water.

“You took a shortcut?” she asked Jack.

Jack nodded. “We went through the Curse of Pythia. The Master is insane, but he’s also big on self-preservation, so I knew he’d go around.”

Rose’s eyes widened. The narrow strait between Raxacoricofallapatorius and Clom was definitely the fastest way to get from the Outer Constellation into the main island group, but it was notoriously dangerous.

“That was brave.” Knowing they’d put themselves at so much risk for her sake settled uncomfortably in his stomach.

The sail caught the wind and moved them away from the dock, and Mickey snorted as he moved back to the rudder. “Took less courage to brave the Curse than it would to tell the Doctor we’d let the Master capture you,” he said bluntly.

Rose’s eyes narrowed, and Jack could easily follow her train of thought. “What Mickey means,” he said hurriedly, “is that the Tardis is loyal to her captain, and when we realised how much you meant to him, that loyalty was passed on to you.”

She raised her eyebrows and looked back and forth between Jack and Mickey, and Jack chafed under the inconvenience of being in the presence of someone so clever.

Thankfully, an excellent distraction presented itself just in time. The dinghy rounded a curve in the coastline and came in sight of the Tardis.

“Ten more minutes and we’ll be safely on the Tardis,” he told Rose. She nodded absently, then shuffled to the bow of the small boat so she could watch their progress.

Rose worked hard to stay out of the way while Mickey and Jack brought the dinghy up to the sleek pirate ship and had them hauled aboard. As soon as Jack’s feet touched the deck, he shouted the order to weigh anchor and get the ship underway.

Then he led her to the captain’s cabin on the quarterdeck. “I’ll come talk to you and give you a tour of the ship as soon as we’re underway,” he promised before backing out of the cabin and closing the door behind him.

Normally Rose would hate being hidden away like a helpless lady, but she didn’t mind being left alone in James’ personal space. She studied the room, taking in the books on the shelves, the heavy desk bolted to the deck, and the slight disorganisation that belied the apparent neatness.

She ran her fingers along the wall, feeling the texture of the wood and letting her imagination wander. The room felt so much like James; it was easy to picture him sitting at the desk or scanning the books on the shelves until he found the right one.

A shout caught her attention, and Rose cocked her head, straining to hear the words that accompanied the sudden buzz of activity on the other side of the door.

“The Master…”

“Keep us out of range!”

Rose sat down heavily on the end of James’ narrow bed. Jack had just barely managed to save her from being taken by the Master. Her stomach clenched in knots at the thought, and her hands twisted together.

“Bring us around…”

She braced herself from a sharp turn and managed to stay upright. However, a wooden box slid off the desk as the ship tilted into the curve, and the lid popped off, scattering its contents over the floor.

As soon as they were going straight again, Rose stooped down to pick up the papers that were strewn all over the floor. She stopped when she recognised her own writing.

My letters.

The paper in her hand shook as all the emotions of the last few months caught up with Rose at once. Seeing the letters she’d written to him, knowing he’d been the last one to hold them… Her loneliness and fear and desperate desire to be with James again swept over her. She sank down onto the floor and gathered all the letters to her.

That was how Jack found her twenty minutes later, huddled on the floor of James’ cabin, clutching the letters she’d written him to her chest. “Oh, Rosie,” he whispered, his heart aching as he took in the situation and understood what must have happened. “Come on, let’s get up off that hard floor.” He pulled Rose to her feet, then led her to the window seat at the back of the room, where warm sunlight streamed in through the large window.

“Am I ever going to see him again, Jack?” she whispered.

Jack wrapped an arm around her shoulders, feeling a surge of brotherly protection towards this woman even though they’d just met. James was his brother, though, and Rose was the woman he loved.

“Well, as it happens,” he said, his voice cheerful, “we’re on our way to meet him right now.”

Rose’s head swung around, and her brown eyes were open wide. “We’re going through the blockade?” A moment later, she shook her head. “Of course. That was the plan the whole time, wasn’t it? That’s why he liberated Cadon first—so the Master would be curious enough about what was happening that he would go into Dalek territory. And you were meant to follow him, trapping him between James’ ship and the Tardis.”

Jack nodded. “We’ve reversed order a bit,” he admitted. “The Master is chasing us instead of the other way around. But between the fact that we have you on board, and his preexisting interest in James, I’m confident he’ll follow us through the blockade.”

James smiled and waved at another refugee as he walked through Cadon’s port. The first refugees had arrived within twenty-four hours of their victory, Sarah Jane’s communication network spreading the word quickly.

The cry of seagulls caught his ear, and his gaze drifted out to sea. It was a clear day with a straight wind—the perfect day to be on the water.

He sighed and raked his hand through his hair. But I am stuck here until Jack sends word that they are on their way.

That was perhaps his second least favourite part of Jack’s plan. (The first, of course, being letting Rose think he was captured and cutting off all contact with her.) He had been stuck on land before, but on Arcadia he had the life of Lord McCrimmon to keep him busy.

And lately, I’ve been with Rose.

“I’m surprised you’re still here.”

James glanced over at Jake, who had come alongside him without him realising. “That was the plan,” he reminded him. “I have to be here when Jack sends word, or we might miss our chance to trap the Master.”

“Yeah, I know what the plan is,” Jake said, his island accent thick with exasperation. “But there’s no reason you can’t patrol the area around Cadon until Jack signals.”

“You’ve been on patrol in the White Point Star,” James protested.

“And now you’ll be on patrol in the Arkytior.”

James opened his mouth, then blinked in surprise when Jake slapped his hand over it.

“Not to mention you’re a bloody nightmare, staring out at the ocean like a bleedin’ sorrowful lover,” he added.

He pulled his hand away and rocked back on his heels, a cheeky grin on his face. “Your crew have been getting the Arkytior ready for the last two days. She’ll be ready to sail in the morning.”

James narrowed his eyes and considered the surreptitious smiles he’d seen on his crew’s faces over the last few days. He’d assumed they were planning for their new lives, post-war, but it seemed their plans were much more of a more imminent nature.

Jake winked, then spun on his heel and swaggered down the street like a proper pirate.

The seagulls cried again, and this time excitement pulsed through James’ veins as followed their call. Tomorrow he would be back at sea.

The sky was still faintly tinted pink when James placed his hands on the Arkytior’s wheel the next morning. He could hear the sound of the mainsail unfurling above him, and he could feel the rhythm of the waves below him.

They were almost to the edge of the harbour when he heard a cry from the watch. “A pigeon! There’s a pigeon coming our way.”

James’ heart was in his throat as he waited for the watch to swing down from the crow’s nest with the message in hand. “For you, Captain,” the young man said, handing over the wooden canister.

James opened it and pulled out the tightly rolled up piece of paper. A grin crept over his face when he recognised the handwriting.

Ready whenever you are, Doc.

James tucked the note in his pocket, then raised a shout to his crew. “We make for the blockade! Open all the sails and let her fly.”

Anticipation thrummed through James as he took the wheel again, this time with a course in mind. It was finally time to meet the Master and earn his future with Rose.

Third P.O.V

Strange how something as bright as the sun cannot alter the attitude of a person. The beaming warm energy seemed to be sucked up by the clouds, its darkness far more superior. How accurate.. (Y/n) pondered to herself as she lazily pulled her limp body out from under the sheets. There was little to nothing motivating her to go to school. She could lay there all day if she wanted to. With a faint sigh, she knew that the three people she cared about the most wouldn’t allow such a thing to happen. 

(Y/n) would never get use to the stir of the high school. The zoo like energy left her exhausted and she had only just entered. Scott and Stiles came bumbling in seconds later with the energy of two excited puppies and she couldn’t help but smile softly to herself. Scott handed her one of his many apples while Stiles’ Cheetos covered fingers dove back into his backpack to look for more snacks. Nothing says a healthy breakfast like Cheetos, apples and pop-tarts. (Y/n) had the tendency to ‘forget’ to eat breakfast and the boys would always bring enough food to share between the three of them. 

Once they dropped her off to class, the boys sprinted across the school to get to their own course lectures. Almost immediately, the loneliness settles in, drowning her out. Her first class comes around and she wants nothing more than to leave. Lydia doesn’t acknowledge her presence as (Y/n) takes the farthest seat in the back, too preoccupied by her lipstick and mirror to look at anyone else in the room. Not even her teacher sends a warm smile her way as she normally would. “Look at that. Nobody cares about you.” A dark, menacing voice chuckles inside her head. She does her best to ignore it but (Y/n) can feel it growing, bubbling up inside until she explodes. 

Go talk to Allison. Allison is nice! She’s always been good to you. She attempts to balance out the bad with a little good. But when Allison runs into Lydia and some other girls, she’s taken away, not daring to put up a fight when (Y/n) calls for her. “Useless. Nobody cares about you. See, she didn’t even bother to acknowledge you.” Her heart falls to the pit of her stomach as she pulls her books closer to her chest, feeling small and worthless as the dark thoughts continue to plague her mind. Curling her fingers around the binding, the young girl finds comfort in the feeling, calming her momentarily. 

Isaac notices the interaction, about to join her by her locker when Coach called him for rounds. Cursing under his breath, he ran over to the group. He had noticed how (Y/n) had been smiling less each day. How her laugh wouldn’t echo throughout the hallway or the lack of energy each room had without her presence in it. To him, she was the sole reason behind a lot of things. And without it, the world seem to turn grey and cold. Isaac hoped he could slip out early to catch her and make her smile, just once. That’s all it took to make him swoon for her. 

But (Y/n) went home and tossed her work to the side. When she wasn’t in an environment that demanded anything from her, she refused to put any effort in. School or not, her motivation to do much of anything declined rapidly. The weekend went by excruciatingly slow and as each day came, the pack began to notice the behavioral shift in her. Two meetings in a row, not a word left her plump lips. Not like it would matter anyway.. She thought lowly to herself. (Y/n) felt useless in the presence of others, especially around the people who she believed to be her friends. 

What was the point of doing this each day? (Y/n) pondered as she stared off out the window. I don’t bring anything to the pack meetings. They don’t seem to care about me or what I do? My parents are disappointed in my grades and lack of energy.. My friends don’t talk to me anymore. What’s the point? Why am I putting so much effort in for nothing in return. Nobody cares about me.. Whether I’m alive or dead.. She sighs to herself. A small tear slipping out from underneath her mask, falling gently on the paper. 

“Miss (Y/L/N)..” A gentle voice asks. 

She looked up to see Mrs. Abernathy, the English teacher waddling over to sit in the chair in front of (Y/n). Though Mrs. Abernathy had wrinkles around her eyes and cheeks she was an absolutely stunning woman. Her eyes crinkled at the corner when she smiled. This is a woman who’s had a long life and wears her age with pride. And spoke to the kids as she would her own grandchildren. 

“Miss (Y/L/N), class is finished. It has been for about five minutes, dear.” Her voice is soft and warm. 

Sniffling, she began to pack her bag. “I’m sorry, ma’am.. I didn’t realize.. I’ll get going-” 

But before she could stand up, Mrs. Abernathy took her by the wrists and looked deep into her eyes before saying, “Hun, if you ever need anything, please let me know, okay? Things can get really hard in life but there is always someone there willing to listen. I’ll see you for class tomorrow. Now go get some food while you can.” 

(Y/n) was taken back by such a intimate conversation. She had always been close with her English professors. They always seemed to understand what she was trying to depict in her writing and did exceptional in the course. But this was unlike anything she’d ever felt before. It was just the right thing she needed to hear. The faintest bit of reassurance managed to push her through the grueling day. Suddenly her phone buzzes and she can’t help but groan. 

From Batman: Pack meeting tonight- Scott’s place @ 7 p.m 

Later that evening, she dressed in the same sweatpants and sweatshirt she’d worn to bed for the past three nights, oddly still clean. (Y/n) didn’t plan on staying that long, not like they’d notice if she left early anyways. But when she opened the door, something felt different. Stiles rounded the corner, took her hand and dragged her into the living room. For the first time in weeks, everyone was looking directly at (Y/n) instead of through her. Isaac and Scott sat on either side, smiling reassuringly as Isaac laced his fingers through her hand. 

“W-What is happening..?” Unaccustomed to the beady eyes staring back at her. 

Scott glanced at everyone in the room and then back at (Y/n). 

“This is an intervention of some sort.”  

Confused, she tilted her head before looking back at Isaac and Stiles for clarity. 

“What the doofus is trying to say is-” Stiles begins but Isaac cuts him off. 

“That we know about how you feel..” He pauses momentarily, looking for the right words before continuing. “See, as werewolves, we can sense each others emotions and I’ve noticed how your aura emulates a sense of sadness, depression and anxiety.. I should have noticed it sooner.. But this meeting pretty much is-” 

Scott interrupts, “Basically, we want you to know how much we love, appreciate and care about you. Without you, we would be dead meat and you save our asses constantly. You’re the glue of the pack and we’ve all been shitty friends to you-” 

Stiles jumps in, “Actually I’ve been great, I can’t say the same for the rest of them but he has a point. (Y/n), you are my best friend and it breaks my heart to see you sad. You are so fun and gentle and kind and you always know how to make people feel better-” 

This time Lydia of all people jumps in, “That’s true. I’ve been a shitty friend and I should have spoken to you more. I have no excuse for lack of communication but what Stiles is saying is true. You are so bright and amazing and always seem to make me laugh, especially when I’m trying to be serious. That in of itself is a feat.” 

Isaac squeezes (Y/n)’s hand, smiling down at her. “You literally light up a room, ya know that? When you smile, you outshine every star in the sky. Your laugh is contagious and you are so empathetic. No matter what someone’s done, you always seem to see the best in people even when we can’t. We’d be completely lost without you, (Y/n).” 

Tears fall down her face before she can even process what’s happening. Scott places his hand her back while Isaac pulls her into a warm embrace. 

“T-Thank you..” Her voice cracks. 

“Tonight is about you!” Allison smiles, taking (Y/n)’s hands in hers. “Stiles ordered your favorite and we are watching all of the Star Wars movies. We also have popcorn, snacks and blankets. We love and appreciate you so much, (Y/n).” 

The young girl looked at all the people who stood around her. And for the first time in weeks, a genuine smile crept up onto her cheeks. That evening, with their bellies full, she put her head on Isaac’s shoulder while Stiles and Scott sat in front of her on the floor, throwing popcorn at each other. Never in her life did she feel so much love and happiness in one room. Curling up closer to Isaac, (Y/n) knew her smile wouldn’t leave her that night. And that’s just the way she liked it.

Summary - It seems as though Derek Hale had been snooping around with other girls, no matter the undeniable bond that you two had; so you decided that payback is well deserved in these circumstances (basically jealousy all round).

A/n - Hi my sweets, this is my first Teen Wolf imagine, so I know what you are thinking; ‘She won’t updated within the next 7 years.’ On the contrary, I will be trying to update more frequently, but I do really need you guys to request imagines, ships, etc.

So far, life living with the big bad wolf that was Derek Hale was probably one of the best periods of my life. Now I say this in past tense because recently, there has been a merger change in our relationship, and he has started to ‘train’ with some girls, which usually I would be okay with; except the fact that they were flirting continuously with him, and I think he was starting to return the favour. Stiles and Scott have noticed it too, and let me tell you they were not at all fond about it either, because unlike most typical teenagers, they cared about our relationship. Or, they would have noticed that when Derek and I were together he was less blunt, and therefore they would get called out less. I was also happy about that, but they were getting more desperate seeming as Derek wasn’t around me hardly anymore. So, to return such a horrible burden, Scott and Stiles came up the idea of having me make him jealous with one of them, and maybe this would be able to work on him, seeing that he was very over-protective.

Scott had organised a massive party over at his place while his mother was gone, which I thanked him profusely for. There was drinks, piles of junk food, and dirty dancing music; perfect for the scene I was about to create. I walked through the halls of his house as Scott and Stiles talked about some sort of supernatural thing that was going on, so I decided it was the best time to run up to Scott’s room and dress into my deep red revealing dress, skanky and all, I know. I looked at myself in the mirror, sighing as I thought about Derek, the fun we had, the times we laughed and the times we loved. It was moments like that, that I enjoyed the most, because having a connection like that with someone was something people would look for their whole entire lives. I rolled my eyes at the thought, rubbing my head and walked downstairs quietly, trying not to slip on the heels that I had on, and everyone started to pile in within seconds. “Scott? Scott!” I yelled, hauling him over to me in the middle of his living room where I was standing eagerly waiting. He stood next to me, looking down from his towering physique, and I took in a sharp breathe.

“Are you sure you want to do this?” He questioned, looking at me with those usual caring eyes, and I just nodded as we started moving to the music. I could almost sense Derek’s presence as Stiles walked over to the right hand corner of the room. I could hear him talking, I was no werewolf but I had decent hearing. “So who are you looking for this grand evening?” I could almost feel Stiles’ sheepish grin.

“Where is Y/-” Derek paused, obviously finding me dancing with Scott, my hands travelling up and down his body. I looked across for a second, Derek was in complete shock, looking at me in confusion as I continued dancing, pretending I didn’t notice. I could tell Stiles was celebrating, his arms moving down and looking at Derek before he quickly looked away, almost giving away our plan. After that, I could hear loud footsteps coming towards me rapidly, and I could instantly tell it was him. “Y/n, can we talk?” He growled in a low tone, and Scott became worried, but I continued to be stubborn. “I don’t know, I’m having fun here.” I winked at him, his anger rising but his patience doing the exact opposite. But before I could resist, he grabbed my arm and pulled me away from Scott who I winked at, and he put a thumbs up sign towards me. Before I knew it, we where outside, where most people were dancing slowly, so he decided to blend in. His hand firmly placed itself on my lower back, my hand holding his and my other lightly rested on his shoulder.

“What were you doing?” He furrowed his eyebrows, swaying me from side to side, his leather jacket creasing beneath my touch.

“I could ask you the same question.” I raised my eyebrow, slightly annoyed at his obliviousness and he clenched his jaw firmly.

“Y/n, what are you talking about?” He quizzed me.

“All those training sessions with the girls who don’t know what the meaning of I’m taken is, or even if you mentioned that.” I replied.

“They weren-” He was cut off by me giving him the look, and he returned the glare.

“They were.” I stated, looking away. He rolled his eyes, looking up and then back down at me.

“Jealousy isn’t a good trait to have.” He said, still glaring at me.

“Says you hypocrite.” I leaned closer, trying to intimidate him. But before I knew it, his lips were clashing into mine with harshness. After that, we leaned our heads together. “I hate you..” I said, slightly out of breath; but he just chuckled, kissed my cheek and leaned me down.

“I love you too.”
