Btw yesterday I looked out of the window and got a little spooked when I saw a shirtless man in basketball shorts on our balcony since I a) did not know the gentleman, it is b) on the third floor (counting the german way), c) the only entry or exist I know of goes into our apartment and d) I repeat, I do not know the man.
Turns out he's our new-ish neighbor looking for their cat and he somehow scaled the wall from their ground level backyard (I assume a ladder was involved but I didn't stay to check)
Additional information: we have these big wooden planters with integrated lattice in the back and one of them had kind of caved in recently which I thought was strange. The grass growing in there also had a weird flattened spot. With the knowledge I now possess I have to assume this isn't the first time he's come up here and he's the one who broke it, right? I even asked! I said "Wait is that what happened to the broken lattice??" And the disembodied voice of his girlfriend just apologized again without admitting or denying anything.
Like. What the fuck, right? I keep swinging back and forth between: "maybe I overreacted, they were just looking for their cat" and "wtf actually I did not react enough, they literally broke our shit and pretended it didn't happen, like children trying to get away with breaking the good china!"
We are the house next door! There's only one last name on the doorbells! It is not a mystery who to ask "Hey, I think our cat jumped onto your balcony, can you check?" before resorting to entering and breaking (...in that order lmao)
Rant over. Jesus christ
#i'll admit the wooden planters are not in the best condition#but they would have been fine if an adult man hadn't tried to scale them#flowers talks#i think balcony is the wrong word but i don't wanna deal with that rn

I got this really sick yellow ammunition box from an antique store for $30 and I'm so excited to see if I can make it into a letterbox. It's so interesting looking and I wonder if the posties won't just chuck the mail on the lawn because it doesn't have a letter slit, you'd have to open it up, or if someone's just gonna nick it. But the price was such a steal I wouldn't even be mad.
#plus the shop i got it from had like 60 other ammunition boxes#this one was just cooler because it was yellow#the others were real army looking#like that dark green with like hand writing on it#which I'm not too into but could paint over in the event where someone nicks it#and those ones were $22#man it was just the best antique store i wish i had more time#i got there half an hour before they closed and just did a quick browse#i got some cool old oil drums which im gonna use as planters too#they were $30 too like such a bargain

At Bharatvarsh Nature Farms, we understand the importance of greening your home. Through our Gift-A-Plant initiative, we offer the best plants and planters to help you create a beautiful, sustainable indoor environment. In this blog, we’ll guide you through the best plants for indoor spaces, planters, and pots to use, and essential tips for home gardening.
Benefits of Indoor Plants
Enhancing Your Living Space
Indoor plants are a perfect way to enhance your living space. They add a touch of nature to your home decor, making your environment more inviting and vibrant.
Improving Air Quality
Plants naturally filter and purify the air, removing toxins and releasing oxygen. This leads to a healthier living environment, reducing the risk of allergies and respiratory issues.
Promoting Well-Being
Having indoor plants can significantly improve your mental health. They reduce stress, boost mood, and enhance concentration and productivity.
Best Plants for Indoor Spaces
Snake Plant (Sansevieria)
The Snake Plant, also known as Mother-in-Law’s Tongue, is a hardy plant that thrives in low light conditions. It’s perfect for beginners and requires minimal care, making it an ideal choice for greening your home.
Peace Lily (Spathiphyllum)
Peace Lilies are known for their beautiful white flowers and their ability to thrive in low light. They are excellent for improving indoor air quality and adding a touch of elegance to your living space.
Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum)
Spider Plants are easy to grow and maintain. They are great for hanging planters and can help remove pollutants like formaldehyde and xylene from the air.
ZZ Plant (Zamioculcas zamiifolia)
The ZZ Plant is another low-maintenance option that can survive in low light and drought conditions. Its shiny, waxy leaves make it a stylish addition to any room.
Aloe Vera
Aloe Vera is not only a beautiful succulent but also has medicinal properties. It’s perfect for a sunny spot in your home and can be used to treat minor burns and skin irritations.
Planters and Pots: Choosing the Right Containers
Ceramic Pots
Ceramic pots are a popular choice for indoor plants due to their aesthetic appeal and durability. They come in various colors and designs, adding a decorative touch to your home gardening essentials.
Terracotta Pots
Terracotta pots are made from clay and are excellent for plants that require good drainage. They are breathable, allowing air and moisture to penetrate the soil, promoting healthy root growth.
Plastic Planters
Plastic planters are lightweight, affordable, and available in various shapes and sizes. They are ideal for beginners and can be easily moved around to find the perfect spot for your plants.
Hanging Planters
Hanging planters are perfect for small spaces and add a vertical element to your indoor gardening solutions. They are great for plants like Spider Plants and Ivy, which can cascade down and create a lush, green effect.
Self-Watering Planters
Self-watering planters are an excellent option for those who travel frequently or are new to gardening. They provide a consistent water supply, reducing the risk of overwatering or underwatering your plants.
Home Gardening Essentials
Soil and Fertilizers
Choosing the right soil and fertilizers is crucial for the health of your indoor plants. Opt for high-quality potting mix and organic fertilizers to ensure your plants get the necessary nutrients.
Lighting
Different plants have different lighting needs. Place your plants in areas that receive the appropriate amount of light. For low-light plants, consider using grow lights to supplement natural light.
Watering
Overwatering is a common mistake in indoor gardening. Make sure to check the soil moisture before watering and follow a regular watering schedule based on the plant’s requirements.
Pruning and Maintenance
Regular pruning and maintenance are essential to keep your plants healthy and looking their best. Remove dead or yellowing leaves and trim overgrown stems to encourage new growth.

I think something a lot of other people can relate to is the way that you get so conditioned to discomfort that you stop registering it.
I remember sitting at the table with my family, eating dinner as a child. I’d try to eat, because of course I was hungry. But sometimes the flavor or texture was so repugnant that it moved into a category of Not Food.
“Two more bites before you can leave the table.”
“I can’t,” I’d say, trying to explain the impossibility.
But because I was a child they heard, “I won’t,” and made me sit at the table. I’d sit in dull agonized silence, bored and hungry for hours until bedtime when they’d give up. I’d hate myself for not eating and my parents for forcing me to sit there. The few forcefeeding moments ended in vomit.
They’d say, “If you don’t eat this you can’t eat a snack later,” and I moved past trying to communicate my discomfort into accepting that I’d just be hungry.
That state of affairs didn’t last, because my parents realized nothing could force me to eat so they catered to my palate, worrying they’d starve me. But the message stuck. If you can’t do anything about a situation, just accept the suffering.
A few years later my mother called me off the playground to ask, “Are you limping?”
I shrugged. My feet had hurt for a long time, but that was just the way things were now. My mom pulled my socks and shoes off and gasped. The soles of my feet were covered in huge painful planters warts.
“Why didn’t you say anything?!” She demanded but I could only shrug at her. I’d learned a long time ago that saying things about my discomfort didn’t matter, so now I had no words. Sometimes things hurt and sometimes they don’t. I simply accepted and did my best.
Now as an adult trying to learn to improve my own conditions can be hard. If I make food that I can’t eat I’ll force myself to sit at the counter still, full of guilt and self loathing, trying to will myself to eat it.
At first I needed my betrothed to gently take it away to present me with something I could eat. Now on my own I can usually admit that it’s not happening before too long and get something else, but I still feel guilty.
Laying in bed at night waiting for my betrothed to finish getting ready I let out a huge sigh of relief when they turned the lights off.
“Why didn’t you turn them off if they bothered you?” they asked the first time it happened.
“I didn’t even know it was bothering me until it was gone.”
Assessing my physical state now to see if I can improve it is something I’m still relearning but I’m relieved to finally have the space and support to do it.
#ramblies#autism#as an afab kid I didn’t get diagnosed but given my poor social skills and general vibes it’s astonishing I wasn’t#I didn’t learn to implement social masking until way later#also those warts too months to get rid of cause they were too big to burn off#they had to be scraped down slowly after baths#vomiting

Hello Everyone,
As Promised last month, I started working on a Cottage Garden Set. I was quickly distracted by a beautiful Greenhouse on Pinterest and built RUSTYC Part 1 around it. Harrie and I are working in the same world this time, and she is creating super cute items for your 'Rustyc' Kitchen :) And you will find her items here .
As you can see, I have created a Greenhouse, and I am telling you this was the most intense item I have ever made; it took me a whole week/seven days to make, and I am proud of it :D. The door is animated so your sims can walk in, and the glass is clickable so you can live your best life in it! If you are interested in the WIP, go to the last pictures, and you will see how I created it :)
After I finished the Glasshouse, I decided to create various shelves and tables specially designed for it so they share the exact colour swatches. I also made a vertical planter in disguise, for which you will need the EP Eco Living.
To bring everything to life, I created a set of pots, potted plants and a vent for the floor. This Set contains 25 items.
My favourite thing to do in the sims is gardening. Harvesting grapes and making vines in this greenhouse was immersive and fun. I'm already thinking of more concepts like this for the future, and I hope you will enjoy it as much as I do!
This Set is on Early Access and will be available in December
Thank you again for everything, and lots of love,
Felix xxx
