Do you have specific spots you wanna hit while in NY? I know mentioned general areas like Ktown and getting a bagel but I didn't know if you had specific shops in mind. Where I live there is a town a few hours away and every time we go we have to stop at a specific candy shop (it's locally owned and amazing). I didn't know if you had anything like that
I'm annoyingly going for a work offsite so almost every minute of my time is accounted for, especially since I'm trying to squeeze in seeing lots of friends that are still in the city! I'll make it to a few of the below but here's an overview of my top places:
Food:
Bagels – I'm partial to Murray's on 6th Ave because I lived a few blocks away for a while but Ess-a-Bagel is good too or H&H (a classic)
Maman for pastries, Breads Bakery in Union Square for choc babka and Bourke Street Bakery near Madison Square Park for a sausage roll
The kale Brussel Caesar at Blank Slate when I'm working I'll have it delivered lol it's a guilty pleasure
Gotta have a Mister Softee in the summer
I'm a sucker for a slice of cake from Magnolia Bakery. I'm not a banana person but I know the banana pudding is everyone's fav
Alta on W. 10th is a fav date night spot, amazing tapas/vibe, it's tucked away on a residential street
Turntable Jazz Chicken. Hands down best fried Korean chicken, I will not leave New York without eating this. Get extra daikon radish and the dumplings and thank me later
Sant Ambroeus – just get a coffee/pastry to go and walk in the park!
Stores/shops:
Minamoto Kitchoan – technically food but it's really beautiful Japanese wagashi I always get some to send my dad
The Face Shop in KTown
Bloomingdales – basic but I'm not even sorry. Also it has a 40 Carrots froyo that I lowkey love to stop in and it's close to my office so I'll just pop by after work I'm on the hunt for a new YSL Manhattan bag so I want to see it in person!
Economy Candy in LES is super fun if you haven't been!

How do I describe what I like about Chicago? It all comes to me as a mix of scenes, watching the storefronts switch from Guatemalan to Korean to Yemeni walking east to west along Lawrence, seeing the flows of crowds of college students leaving and entering the bars on Lincoln Ave, waiting for the last Metra train of the night in a 24-hour diner right next to the tracks--and these are hardly idiosyncratic experiences in any real city (author's note: I'm not sure if either SF, DC, or Seattle are real cities)
Some of it must be a matter of familiarity -- the streets of cities west of the Rockies are all too damn wide, while all the streets in cities on the East Coast are either too damn tiny or are near-freeways. Some of it comes from the comfort of the building heights -- there's not much for suburban single family housing on the north side, especially as you get near the lake; even the more suburban areas are more likely to be 3-4 story walk-ups. Even though I live a good few miles north of city center, I'm still in a mid-rise apartment building and can see several such buildings out my window.
Some of it is certainly food -- I've not had a proper gyro (where the edges of the meat are crisp and crackly and the inside is thick and wet and spiced) outside of here and it's certainly much easier to find a restaurant that'll serve a half-pound of decent meat here than in Boston, Seattle or SF (also, Chicago's meat foods, like the Polish sausage or Italian beef knock any local meat-between-bread meal out of the park, go suck on your cheesesteaks, Philly). And there feels like there's more options for different cuisines here than anywhere not-NYC -- I really like being able to have a Cuban place and a Serbian place and a Kazakh place and a Nepalese place within a few miles! This isn't even for a lack of good American food -- the burgers here are a significant notch above the Bay, the fried chicken and barbecue are the best you'll get in a Northern city, and I even found a hole-in-the-wall breakfast place that opens at 7am and serves a five egg omelette with bacon and cheese, side of potatoes and rye for under $15!
Some of it has to do with the ease of walking around, people like to make Chicago out to be a dangerous city, and it is dangerous, in the way cities are and suburbs are not, but things feel far more demarcated than they ever were in Boston or the East Bay. I know the local hotspots from just reading reddit (Hermosa, Cragin, Lawndale, largely, for a north-sider, southside is more complicated but I can round it off to "anywhere >1mi from the river and not Hyde Park" and be done with it). In Boston, none of it made any goddamn sense, even just walking up Neponset/Dorchester Ave from Quincy -- things were certainly fine in North Quincy, got sus as I crossed the river, got worse and worse as I went north until I hit the Indochinese district just a bit south of UMass -- and then somehow things get worse again as I approach Andrew, but north of Andrew is completely fine?!! What gives? At least on Chicago I know that outside of the Milwaukee Ave sitch, things generally get worse as you go west and south. Simple as. East Bay, nobody seemed to talk about it, or assumed that if there was ever a problem, the problem was with YOU. So I got some weird signals west of MLK (except for the area near Tamaleria Azteca and Al-Maida, those places are goated), couldn't pick up any new info, there wasn't anything around I was interested in seeing, so I just gave up and learned the areas on Telegraph as well as I could.
A large part of it has to do with the night-scene--there's food-places open after 10pm here, that aren't even bars! What a wild world, coming from Boston and the Bay! More than that, they're often even open after midnight in the hotter areas--what bounty being able to choose if I want pizza, tacos, or a Polish around 1am on a night-walk!
I don't know why I like it here, but I do.

Where to Find the Best Asian Food Near Me: A Flavorful Journey
When you're craving a vibrant and diverse dining experience, Asian cuisine is often the answer. But where can you find the best Asian food near me? Whether you’re in search of sushi, stir-fry, or a flavorful bowl of noodles, the culinary traditions of Asia offer an extensive array of options that cater to every taste. As you embark on this flavorful journey, let’s explore some of the main flavor profiles of Asian food, with a particular focus on the rich and diverse offerings near Rossville, TN.
Tumblr media
The Main Flavor Profiles of Asian Cuisine
Asian food is known for its dynamic flavor combinations that can range from sweet and sour to salty and spicy, often in the same dish. These distinct tastes, when perfectly balanced, create a symphony of flavors that keep food lovers coming back for more. Understanding these key flavor profiles can elevate your appreciation of Asian cuisine and help guide your next meal choice.
1. Sweet
Many Asian dishes incorporate a sweetness that balances out other intense flavors like salty or spicy. This sweetness typically comes from ingredients such as sugar, honey, or fruit. For example, popular Chinese and Thai dishes like orange chicken or sweet and sour pork use sugar and fruit-based sauces to deliver a perfect harmony of tastes. In Japanese cuisine, teriyaki sauce is a beloved staple, known for its slightly sweet glaze over meats like chicken or beef.
If you're near Rossville, TN, you might find local Asian restaurants offering sweet dishes like teriyaki chicken or honey-glazed shrimp that are sure to satisfy your sweet tooth while delivering an authentic culinary experience.
2. Salty
Saltiness plays a crucial role in balancing the flavors of many Asian dishes. The use of soy sauce, fish sauce, and other fermented sauces creates an umami-rich taste that is savory and satisfying. In Chinese cuisine, soy sauce is often used as the base for stir-fry dishes, providing a rich, salty depth. Japanese miso soup also relies on fermented ingredients to deliver that quintessential savory taste.
Restaurants near Rossville may offer traditional salty dishes like stir-fried noodles or ramen, highlighting the umami taste that makes these dishes so deeply flavorful.
3. Sour
Sour flavors are a hallmark of several Asian cuisines, particularly in Southeast Asia. Lime, tamarind, and rice vinegar are commonly used to add acidity and brightness to dishes. Thai cuisine, for example, frequently incorporates lime juice and tamarind paste into soups, salads, and stir-fries to achieve a refreshing tanginess. Vietnamese pho is another great example, with fresh lime juice added to the broth to balance the richness of the meat and noodles.
When searching for Asian food near me, keep an eye out for sour-forward dishes like Thai green papaya salad or Vietnamese pho, which offer the perfect blend of savory, sour, and aromatic flavors.
4. Spicy
If you’re a fan of heat, Asian cuisine offers plenty of spicy options to excite your taste buds. Ingredients like chili peppers, Sichuan peppercorns, and curry paste are frequently used to bring fiery flavors to the table. In dishes such as Thai green curry or Korean kimchi, the spice level can range from a mild kick to intense heat, depending on the dish and personal preference.
Rossville, TN, is home to a variety of Asian restaurants where you can indulge in spicy dishes like Korean barbecue or Thai curry, allowing you to experience the thrilling heat that makes these dishes so memorable.
5. Bitter
While not as commonly associated with Asian cuisine, bitterness plays an important role in balancing out sweet, salty, and spicy flavors. Bitter melon, for instance, is a popular ingredient in Chinese and Filipino cooking, offering a unique flavor that pairs well with meats and savory sauces. Additionally, herbs like cilantro and leafy greens can introduce a slight bitterness that contrasts nicely with other flavors in a dish.
If you're exploring the Asian dining scene near Rossville, you may come across dishes featuring bitter melon or herbal garnishes, adding complexity and depth to your meal.
6. Savory (Umami)
Umami, often referred to as the "fifth taste," is a core component of many Asian dishes. This savory flavor is derived from ingredients like soy sauce, miso, mushrooms, and seaweed, which provide a rich and satisfying depth to a variety of meals. Japanese cuisine, in particular, is famous for its umami-rich dishes, from miso soup to sushi made with fresh fish.
If you're dining near Rossville, be sure to try umami-packed options like sushi or miso soup, both of which showcase the savory richness that defines much of Asian cuisine.
7. Aromatic
Aromatic ingredients such as ginger, garlic, lemongrass, and basil are frequently used in Asian cooking to enhance the overall flavor profile of a dish. These fragrant spices and herbs add an extra layer of complexity, making dishes both flavorful and fragrant. In Thai cuisine, for example, lemongrass and basil are key components in dishes like Tom Yum soup and green curry, offering a refreshing aroma that complements the other flavors.
When dining at Asian restaurants near Rossville, you’ll likely encounter dishes infused with these aromatic herbs and spices, creating a dining experience that tantalizes both the senses of taste and smell.

Now that you have a better understanding of the flavor profiles that make Asian cuisine so exciting, you’re probably wondering where to find the best Asian food near me. WEEK 7: AMSTERDAM
Hallo everyone!! The end is so near, and I’m starting to feel very sentimental about leaving my host city of Prague. As our final trip together, my roomies and I headed to Amsterdam. I spent most of this past week in this amazing, vibrant, and perfect city, so this blog is dedicated to my experience in Amsterdam!!
With four Eurail pass days left, I made the (horrible but money-conscious) decision to train from Prague to Amsterdam. So 14 hours and 3 train transfers later, I arrived on Wednesday morning. Right off the bat, I was stunned by the layout of the city with rivers cutting through, the endless amount of bikers, the stylish fashion on the streets, and the diverse selection of restaurants and shops. I knew that biking was big in Amsterdam, but I was shocked to learn how bikeable the city was, with bike lanes existing on every street and the right-of-way favoring cyclists. Biking also cut our travel times to anywhere very significantly. From one place to another, walking might’ve taken around 30 minutes; tramming would be around 20 minutes; and biking was a pleasant 5 to 10 minutes.
On Wednesday, we explored the city and got our first taste of Amsterdam’s vibes. We went to Foodhallen Market for lunch, shopped around for a bit, and then chilled out in Vondelpark. Vondelpark is a picturesque and massive park that really exemplifies how lovely Amsterdam is. There were families playing games, couples enjoying picnics, ducks swimming in ponds, friends laughing and bathing in the sun. For dinner, we biked over to Linguini Jordaan for a delicious Italian meal.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We woke up early on Thursday morning to get bagels and iced matchas. There are so many cool museums in Amsterdam, and the first one we hit was the Rijksmuseum. The collections of Vermeer paintings, miniature dollhouses, realism works, and Asian art caught my eye. The highlighted Van Gogh exhibition was also a great prelude to our Van Gogh Museum visit the next day. After shopping until we dropped again and making a pit stop at the Albert Cuyp Market, our reservations to a French restaurant called our names. Fresh oysters, grilled asparagus, a lamb steak, and a few glasses of wine revived me before we biked over to the river for a boat cruise. Our canal ride gave us a tour of the city’s rich history and beautiful sunset views.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
On Friday, we had another jam-packed day of more food, museums, and shopping. A huge highlight of this day was the Van Gogh Museum; it was probably one of the best art museums I’ve ever visited. Not only were his paintings beyond amazing, but the sheer volume of how many he painted in his lifetime, the layout of the whole museum, and the special exhibitions on display were just as impressive. Compared to the other cities that I’ve traveled to, Amsterdam easily takes the top spot for the most expensive place. In hindsight, I should’ve budgeted a little better for this trip, but I think that all the souvenirs, clothes, foods, and tickets that I bought here were well worth it. Checking my bank account on Friday hurt my soul a little, but it quickly passed with some Korean fried chicken and a loaded fruit bingsu dessert (this dinner satisfied my desperate cravings for Korean food).
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
We filled Saturday with a visit to the Anne Frank house, a 15+ mile bike ride through Amsterdam’s countryside, and an authentic Dutch dinner at ‘T Heemelrijck. The long bike ride allowed me to reconnect with nature and appreciate the beautiful scenery straight out of a storybook. It also gave me another reason to love Amsterdam: biking just 15 minutes outside of the city center takes you to a whole other world. On Sunday, I grabbed an Italian sandwich to prepare for my 20 hour trip back to Prague. One bus and two trains successfully brought me back at 5 AM Monday morning.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
After spending five days in Amsterdam, I have come to the conclusion that I love this city so, so much. If I were to do another study abroad semester in the future (which is very likely), Amsterdam is definitely up there. Besides the high prices, I felt like the city was very liveable with lots of things to see and do. I would love to find myself in this city again, but for now, I will soak up the last bits of Prague for this final upcoming week!

The Ultimate Comfort Food Takeout Guide for Cozy Evenings
What about having food takeout to make your evening cozy?
Okay, so how many date nights or special occasion evenings have you spent dinner-making in your kitchen while your peers spent such evenings in a great way courtesy of ordering in takeouts, sitting on their couches, Netflixing, chilling, and doing everything that a cozy evening requires? Hey, no judgment here, but don’t you think a change could spice up things for you?
I was also bogged down with the routines of preparing my evening meals, even on occasions when I should have simply let go and allowed myself to indulge in the beauty of an evening by going for food takeout.
This was until a friend working at a famous restaurant offering Mexican food near me encouraged me to throw away my apron and scroll through a food takeout guide she provided me to choose one that could deliver me ultimate comfort during my cozy evenings.
The guide exposed me to information on the best takeout restaurants near me, with the most enticing being those that offer Italian food near me and Japanese food delivery near me.
I have now made it a habit to go for food takeout when I have special occasion evenings or when I just want to experience ultimate comfort during cozy evenings.
Here is the ultimate guide to experiencing great evenings with food takeout
According to leading Hartford restaurants, the meal you order for takeout has a huge influence on the kind of comfort you will experience during the evening you want to use the food.
All the best takeout restaurants near me, including the Mexican and Italian food delivery restaurants near me, agree that the guide to ultimate comfort food takeout for cozy evenings must include the following food takeouts:
Portobello Mushrooms with Truffle Mash
It doesn’t matter whether you are vegetarian or not at the moment. Just try out portobello mushrooms with truffle mash and see whether you won’t make the switch after you eat them.
This favorite takeout meal tastes like steak, but instead, it is portobello mushrooms disguised alongside some super decadent truffle-infused mashed potatoes.
Marry Me Chicken
As the name suggests, you will experience ultimate comfort during your cozy evenings when you order Marry Me Chicken. It comes with sun-dried tomatoes, chicken thighs, and a creamy sauce, which are pretty much what you need to make your date night comfortable, cozy, and perfect.
Pasta with Savory Jack Sausage and Parmesan
If you have never done orecchiette, how about trying a takeout of it this evening? Ensure it is provided in a saucy butter sauce. I can confirm to you that you will never know it is actually plant-based jackfruit instead of sausage! Go ahead, indulge, and make your evening memorable!
Seared Scallops and Mushroom Risotto
This fancy scallop risotto recipe is a meal you should get at a restaurant for your anniversary. It will make the anniversary evening very memorable!
Butter-Basted Sirloin Steak
Steak is the go-to dish if you want to have a romantic dinner. You should go for some really fancy parsnip wedges to go with the steak instead of fries.
Fried Butternut Tacos
Butternut tacos not only look cute, but they are an awesome plant-based option for anyone who doesn’t eat meat. The recipe is 100 percent vegan and 100 delicious.
Other recipes known to spice up evenings
Other recipes you can takeout to spice up your evenings and deliver the ultimate comfort you desire include Pasta Primavera, Truffle Pizza, Sirloin Tip Roast, Lemon Rosemary Chicken, Honey Glazed Salmon, Korean BBQ Beef Bowls, Cheese Roasted Garlic Alfredo Stuffed Spaghetti Squash, and Classic Lasagna, among others.

I’m back!
And the trip was AWESOME!
I don’t know where to start though...probably not chronologically, because the experiences start to mix in a mental pot a little bit, but...I’ll try my best!
We ate a lot, that I remember. A lot of japanese cuisine, and some korean fried chicken (which was very flavorful, omg)...oh, and crêpes! They were adorable (and really frikkin delicious, again) My friend and I went even to a all-you-can-eat (I’m so glad that I don’t have one near me, or I would probably die from a heart attack. I almost fell asleep from eating right there in the restaurant, people must have thought I was wasted. Pretty embarrassing in hindsight.)
We also went to a lot of manga and merchandise stores! Like, HUGE manga and merchandise stores, at least compared to what I’ve seen so far! SO. MANY. MANGA. But, since I am a chicken and I mostly only follow mangas which I have already started reading on the internet, I didn’t find anything. I was also so excited that I couldn’t concentrate on the covers, so there’s that too.
Although, I bought two. The fourth of Arte (which I find a terribly interesting premise, you don’t hear about a lot of historical female artists back in the day) and GANGSTA: The Cursed Gang - I think it is called that way? I was hungry for more Gangsta, so I bought it, but...it’s +16. I noticed when I read the Sinoalice Manga that I’m probably not a gore fan, so I don’t know how I’ll like it.
We also drank boba! I liked the one where I live more though. It’s bigger and has more sweetness for the same price!
We went a bit sightseeing too. I didn’t know that place had a traditional sweets factory! It was all cuddled up in a harry potter looking alley. Really cute! Very dark academia ewe
Oh!! And we went on a ship! The city lights in the darkness were very pretty. It was pretty windy too!
We also hung out at the hotel and played videogames, watched television. It was relaxing and really nice.
My friend gave her very best so that I felt secure and comfortable there. I am inmensely grateful. I wish I could give more back though...she seems to have a troubled time right now. I hope I can help her somehow. Even just a tiny little sliver.
I would post photographs but...they were quite boring, for others at least. Only buildings like churches and houses and stuff. For some reason, architecture absolutely fascinates me. I even dream of it. Huh.
Well, I guess that’s the gist of it! Happy to be back though, and resuming my daily routines.

Why did you close the door the last time you closed one? Simply because I hate leaving my bedroom door open. Just leaves me feeling exposed and I really really really value my privacy.
Stripes or polka dots? Depends on where it’s on but generally I prefer polka dots as I find them cute.
Do you care if people touch you when they’re talking to you? Hm, I think it depends where they’re touching. I’m fine with people touching me on the shoulder or lower back, but please don’t clutch my hand when talking to me or rest your hand on my thigh.
What is your gender? Female.
Do you think that people think its obvious? Yeah.
How long did your first date last? I never really had a first date. With my previous partner, we just jumped in immediately into being a couple and we didn’t really make it a point to have a First Date. If I remember correctly, the first time we ate out together was at a Subway and it was just to get a quick bite lol.
Is your favorite color within 10 feet of you? That would be purple, and no I don’t have anything purple near me at the moment.
Highlight of your day? It’s a beautiful Friday night and I’ve got all my favorite Korean food delivered – kimchi fried rice, Korean fried chicken, and gimbap – to enjoy for the rest of the evening.
Would you rather be on a boat or a plane? Plane. Much faster and less dizziness.
Can you tell when girls (or guys) have eyeliner on? For the most part, yeah.
Can you cook? I’m probably capable of following a recipe, but the catch is it just wouldn’t taste like anything. So let’s just keep this at a no.
How high is your ceiling? Not sure, anywhere between 12 to 15 feet high? It’s relatively higher than most households I’ve been to.
Whats the worst job you can think of? Any job where you have to take on calls for suicide attempts. Not because I think the job itself is bad, but because of the mental and emotional toll it can have for anyone working in the field. I admire everyone who does it for a living.
Do you swear a lot? I try to tone it down when I can but I am definitely prone to slipping a ‘fuck’ here and there. Lots of ‘shit’s on a daily basis too.
Does the last person you texted have an O in their name? Yes.
Is everything working in your house? The living room TV has started shutting down on its own so we haven’t used it in a while. Then again we all have our own laptops and phones, so it’s not like we’re in a hurry to have it fixed any time soon.
Would you rather have a pool or a trampoline? I’d love a pool. I don’t think anyone in the family would find any interest in a trampoline. Does pop give you energy? I was starting to write a lengthy answer thinking this was referring to pop music until it dawned on me that this was talking about soda LOL. Anyway, I hate the fizziness of soda so this isn’t really relevant to me.
TV show you love with a passion? Closest would probably be Breaking Bad, but in general I don’t typically form any strong emotional attachments to series. Do you think you learned anything from the worst night of your life? I try not to have any positive takeaways from things that give me trauma. Regarding the ‘worst’ night of my life, I’ve made it a point to forget everything about it, and so far I’ve been successful. I don’t even remember how the rest of that evening panned out, how I fell asleep, and how I woke up the next day.
Perfect age to get married? The perfect age doesn’t exist. People can get married at 23 and have that last a lifetime, the same way others can recognize the best timing at 75.
Is it safe to say you own over 20 pairs of shoes? Nah it definitely doesn’t exceed that number.
Name a career path that women are known for taking. Just based on my personal experience, PR. We’re like 95% girls and then the boys just kind of pass through here and there lol. It seems to be the same for other agencies, coming from my experience working with creatives and influencer management agencies for my different accounts.
Favorite type of cookie? Just your classic chocolate chip cookies. I rarely ever go for other types.
A quality you look for in choosing a significant other? I’m not looking, but the hypothetical ideal partner is not a fucking gaslighter.
What would I find if I looked in your pocket? Vape pen.
What was your first word? Dunno. My parents didn’t take note of it either.
A musical instrument you wouldn’t mind learning how to play? Piano.
Last time you went to 7-eleven? Many months ago. I tend to stop by FamilyMart more often.
A fast food restaurant that you hate with a passion? There isn’t any, but I do hate going inside of KFCs and Chowkings because from experience they have consistently been the least sanitary stores. Food-wise, I tend to boycott Shakeys even though they’re not a fast food place per se because I find their menu too expensive even though it’s not even that good – fried chicken tastes like nothing and pizza’s too salty for this world :/
Does everyone in your family have a job? Only my brother doesn’t, but he’s in college so he doesn’t have to have a job.
Going anywhere this weekend? I was thinking of going to UP today for a bit of a self-date at the sunken garden while having my favorite street foods...but IDK I feel so lazy lol. Also I’ve been seeing people talk about this Netflix documentary about Korean cults so I might just stay at home and watch that instead.
Is your room ever clean? Yeah, it’s been very neat ever since we had it renovated and we had the loft bed built.
What does it mean when youre being quiet? It can mean anything. I like socializing, but I can be quiet too.
Last person you had a face to face conversation with? My mom and I talked about herbicide because she wanted to get some, lol.
Where’s your phone? It’s just right next to me.
Do you know the difference between your and you’re? Yep.
How late did you stay up last night? Around 2 AM. I had an early start this morning (had to make my way to the vet by 8 AM) so I wanted to sleep a little earlier than I usually would on a Friday.
Anyone you’re ready to kill? Nah, I’m good.
Do you need to get a tan? I’m already naturally tan; I never ‘need’ to go tanning.
What do you want? Secured tickets for Yoongi.
Favorite TV show as a kid? On Nickelodeon, I loved Spongebob, Fairly OddParents, and Drake & Josh; on Disney, I liked Suite Life and That’s So Raven; on Cartoon Network I liked Pokemon and Powerpuff Girls the most. Those were the days where you had no choice but to wait for those shows to air, which also forced you to have to memorize the program schedule for your usual channels hahaha; kids today are quite lucky to have their faves on-demand now.
Whats a show that you absolutely refuse to watch? Grey’s Anatomy. < Same, just because the first episode had such a meh impression on me. Also, Game of Thrones.
How many times have you been in love? Once.
Go camping or go to a party? Party.
Do you remember how old you were when you started swearing? I’ve known curse words since I was 5 but didn’t start regularly using them until I was about 11.
How many years older than you would you date someone? I haven’t had any experience dating people of a different age, but I imagine I’d be most OK with someone older by around 1-2 years. What was the last thing you pinky swore on? Oof, I can’t remember; I don’t make those a lot.
Would you consider yourself a nice person? Well yeah, of course I try to be nice towards everyone.
Are there a lot of mirrors in your house? Not a lot, but all our mirrors are quite large. My mom likes how they’re able to cheat the appearance of our rooms and make them look bigger.
Has there ever been a serial killer in your house? Wow. No. Do you know anyone who looks like Adam Sandler? Nope.
True or false: Glee is annoying. Yeah it definitely gave off annoying vibes when it was around. I’m generally not a fan of shows about high school, and a lesser fan of covers. The annoying, popular kids in school also liked it, so that probably helped my case too lol.
Last thing you cooked? My sister and I made breakfast-style fried rice two weeks ago. It was basically fried rice wherein we mixed diced hotdogs and luncheon meat.
Do you use slang often? Yeah. Gotta keep my Gen Z blood alive hahahahaha jk.
Wear glasses? Yep. Cannot function without them. About how old was the last person that hit on you? I haven’t been hit on in a while.
What color are your headphones? My earphones are white.
Would you make a good teacher? Why? No, my throat gives out pretty quickly so I can’t keep talking for too long.
Don’t you hate those commercials that try too hard? Don’t we all.
Is the fan on? Yep. I’d open the windows, but it’s mosquito season :/
Any special reason why you’re taking this survey? Not really, I just saw someone on the feed take it first and wanted to do it myself as well because it seemed long and interesting enough.
What does the last text message you sent say? It was work-related, so I’m not going to check that as it’s the weekend.
Your friend needs you to run to the store to get a pregnancy test. Do you? Yeah, in a heartbeat.
Do you log out on facebook when you leave the site? I have not logged out of a website in YEARS.
What color are your underwear? Burgundy.
How short are your nails? It starting to have a bit of length to them but it doesn’t look gross yet, lol. I’ll probably have to trim this weekend.
Do you like the opposite sex to be dominant or you the one in control? I don’t really know.
Favorite holiday? My birthday, if it counts.
If I asked you to point to Ohio on a map of the US do you think you could? Nope.
Youre locked in a room with spiders. Do you have an issue? Depends on the amount of spiders, I guess?? If it’s like Fear Factor levels then I’d be freaking out in seconds.
Do you wear your most expensive item of clothing often? Those would be my one of my sneaker pairs and yeah I wear it fairly often.
Do you eat a lot of food? No. As much as I love food, my stomach is quick to feel full. I rarely finish the meals I get at restaurants and requesting for my leftovers to be packaged for takeout is a normal occurrence for me.
Have your parents ever tried to control your relationship? I never told them I was in a relationship, so nothing was ever acknowledged or attempted to be controlled. At this point though, they probably could tell I used to be in one. The way that they have never asked me about Gabie and why I never talk about her anymore tells me enough, hahaha.
Have you ever had to give someone directions before? Yeah but I always sound like such an idiot when I do it, so most of the time I just advise them to use Waze lol.
Speaking of which, are you good at understanding driving directions? Not if it was given verbally. I just rely on Waze.
How many people do you text daily? Zero.
Do you play any instruments? Which instruments do you play? I mean I can play the simplest of songs on the recorder, but that’s it.
Is there anyone who you call by their last name? No.
What did you do on your last birthday? Stayed at home until dinner when I treated my family, then went to Zambales with friends that weekend.
Which of the Seven Deadly Sins do you commit the most? Probably wrath? I can have a temper. Has anyone ever told you that you’re incapable of whispering? Maybe once or twice in the past but it’s not a general comment I get told.
What is your least favorite subject in school? Chemistry. Calculus is also a contender. I never had a grade above 85 in either class. Have you ever been involved in a custody battle before? No.
Do you know a couple who constantly sucks on each other’s face? Um, no.
When was the last time you watched a YouTube video? I literally have one on as background noise right now.
Have you ever babysat a newborn baby before? Sure, a few times in the past.
When was the last time you held someone’s hand? About a month ago with Angela.
How many meals have you eaten today, so far? One,
Do you think it’s stupid for people to call others “hot?” Not at all?
Do you personally think Wikipedia is a reliable source? Yeah, and it’s so weird to me that some people think it isn’t. Using Wikipedia itself as a citation source is definitely fishy, but that’s the reason why they have detailed bibliographies below every article. As far as I know the approval process for edits is also pretty strict especially for bigger subjects or real-time events, so it’s not like you can get away with fucking around with the articles.
Have you ever shopped at Wet Seal before? Did you like it? I’ve never heard of that before.
Do you care about spending money if it’s someone else’s money? So much so that I never do it.
What is your favorite Disney movie of all time? Toy Story.

JK ain’t gay y’all
**Even though I would think this was obvious:  Sarcasm alert !!!!
Part 2 of the ‘JK ain’t gay’ expose:
As promised, I have more, oh so much more to prove JK ain’t gay y’all.
More hardcore evidence to prove this earthshattering piece of news.
Imaginary sources have released into my hands the authentic secret recordings from JM’s room taken after the first concert in LA, unbeknown to either JK nor JM (hence it being secret, dah).
I, being the highly experienced and professional reporter that I am sat down to listen to this recording.
All I can tell you is this is huge.  This is once again mind blowing.  This changes everything you might believe in.
After hours of sitting transcribing and translating the recording (did I not mention my unbelievable knowledge of Korean, key word being unbelievable, as in don’t believe it in any kind of shape or form), I am now bringing you this once in a lifetime scoop, and as readers of this blog (which btw will be shutting down after part 2 of my expose, due to this earthshattering information) you are going to be the first in the entire world to be privy to this very private and personal conversation between JM & JK that transpired minutes before joining Tae’s Vlive on November 28th 2021.
Tumblr media
So, with no further ado, I now bring you the transcript of said conversation between JM&JK from JM’s hotel room:
JK:  Yo, man, that fried chicken was da bomb.
JM:  True than JayKay, my manliest manly bestiest of bestest friends ever.
JK: Yo, JaMan, glad you mentioned that, cause I got the biggest favour to ask of you man.
So, here it goes…remember how I covered for you and xxxx at Rose   bowl yeah?  The lipstick on your ear…remember that man?
Well, you know how since then I met yyyy and we have been in a loving relationship, right?  You can tell from my eyes, right?
JM:  Oh, sure JayKay, you’ve been so happy lately, definitely your eyes tell.
JK:  Army would go bananas if they thought I have a girlfriend.
Anyway, I digress.  So, like I said man of mine, bestest of bestest friend’s in the whole wide world, remember that favour in Rose Bowl, you know, sucking on your ear to wipe off xxxx’s lipstick?  Oh, by the way, you haven’t told me yet what brand lipstick that was…oops, digressing again.  So, that favour, I know you kind of covered for me with the hickey.  Yyyy can be kind of wild, I told her no sucking, but you know, she doesn’t listen.  I really apologize for that, but I do need another favour man.
Please, please, pretty please, my JaMan, my man, my mate, my bro, my best platonic not boyfriend by any means friend.
JM:  Ugh, man, friend, manliest of men, JayKay, again? What now?
JK:   Well, you know how yyyy is here with us in LA, right? Like, she’s waiting in my room for me as we speak.  It’s kind of hard for her me being here with you all day long, but you know, we’re bestest of bestest of friends, so yeah, of course I would spend my free time with you, right?
She kind of complained about it last night though.  You know, when I came to be with you at 2 am because I was bored?  But I sat her down and told her: “yyyy, you knew JaMan was my man when we got together. You knew he was my no.1, my always and forever, that’s that, take it or leave it”.
JM:  And what did she say to you?  Oh, and btw, you’re the man JayKay, you know I feel the same, said practically the same thing to xxxx.
JK:  Oh, no probs with yyyy.  She said that as long as I’m happy with you she’s happy.  And if that means spending all my free time with you, then she’s happy too.
JM:  Wow man, so happy for you.  My kookie is finally a real man, got himself a real life girlfriend. But then Kookie, my Kookie, what was that favour you wanted?
JK:  Well, the thing is, you know, because when we are in the hotel I spend all my time with you, then I had to step out for a few with yyyy to make out a little, you know, couldn’t do it in the privacy of my hotel room, because I’m never there, so yeah, had no choice but to do it on the street, near the entrance to another hotel.   You know, a man gotta do what a man gotta do.  Didn’t think anyone would see us, you know, being here in LA and all.
JM: Yeah, I get that, like totes.  So, what happened?
JK:  Ugh, bestie, some fan, she saw us.  She saw me with yyyy.  Now for sure she knows yyyy is my girlfriend.  You know how she’s Korean – you can tell straight away – and we have matching styles, we do influence each other. She also saw the way I look at yyyy, for sure she saw it in my eyes.  I’m so screwed bro, my best platonic friend, my closest person in the whole world, but not boyfriend, god forbid.
JM: Oh bro, that’s just bad man.  But what can I do?
 *Knocking on the door.
 JM:    Hey, what’s up.
Man:  Tae is having a live, he asked that we call JK to join him.
JM:    So what are you doing here?
Man:  Seriously JM?  You need to ask that?  Please tell JK that Tae asked him to join him on his Vlive.
JM:    Ugh, ok, I’ll tell him.
 *Door closes
 JM:  That was…
JK:  Yeah, I heard man.  Ugh, I don’t feel like it.  You know I’m not in the mood now.
JM: Wait, let me think a minute man.  I think I got an idea.  We can use this to cover up for your escapades.  Hear me out for a second.
JK:  Ok, bro, friend, bestie, love of my life in an only platonic way, of course, what are you thinking?
JM:  I know you don’t feel like going on the live, but what if you do?  But you do with me, eh?
 JK:  What do you mean?
JM:  So, I’ll go be with Tae to start with, then you join in, like 15 minutes in, I, of course, will act all surprised you joined.  Then, we’ll play around together and we’ll drop some TMI’s for the viewers.  You know, say stuff about us, you know…
JK:  Yeah man, great idea.  You can tell them how I’m in your room, like all the time, even at 2 am. No way they will believe I have a girlfriend then, my platonic bestie, whom I spend every spare minute with.
JM: True that JayKay, my manly man.
JK:  I’ll just say I come see you cause I’m bored, right?
JM: Oh, for sure mate, otherwise they might think you come over to practice and stuff.  They need to believe you would rather be in my room than anything else, yeah?  Otherwise they won’t buy it.
JK:  God, thanks man, you’re a lifesaver, don’t know what I would do without you. Also, can you be a little handsy too? You know, like you are when we’re here in your room.
JM: Hey bro, what are friends for, right?
JK:  Oh man, you’re the bestest.  The absolute bestest platonic bro ever.  Did I tell you today I love you?
 JM: No, you didn’t man.
JK:  Good, cause you know I never say I love you.
JM: Right, right.  Well, I’m off to Tae’s room,  15 minutes and you join me, yeah?
JK:  Yeah, ok.  Thanks again man.
 JM: No probs.
 *Door opens and closes.
Tumblr media
  See this Link here too.
So, there you have it. Earth rattling, mind blowing, shocking revelations.
 The scoop of a lifetime.
They tried to trick us, they did.  And they almost had us.
 It’s all been a lie.
Mic drop.
 Blog closed.

Chicken For YOU =]
This post supports the idea that the sketchy places have the best food lol
I ordered take-out from this Korean fried chicken place called Chicken For You & mannnn.. . it sure does have the CHICKEN FOR YOU!
Tumblr media
See me?
I discovered this place when I was randomly searching for “Korean fried chicken Edmonton” - to see if there’s any new KFC places in town. I stumbled upon this place on Google & thought the name was witty. At first, I didn’t think it was even Korean but then I clicked the menu/found their website & surely it is a KFC-place. They’ve also been around since 1999 but I think they’ve moved several times since then. Currently, they’re located in a small strip mall near NAIT. There’s very little traffic here, & the store-front is very unassuming haha
Tumblr media
Besides chicken, they have some non-traditional KFC place menu items as well.
Tumblr media
The interior~
I love the simple design. Look at the Ikea rack with the white fencing material as dividers :O so cost-efficient but does the job.
Tumblr media
The opposite side of the restaurant haha love how the TV cord is just . .. secured to the wall like that.
Tumblr media
So ghetto-looking but it makes me excited for the chicken even more!
Tumblr media
The counter. They sell Chocopie individually . .. for $1.50/each. That’s insane!  Pls do not buy that from here. I’ll be honest. .. it’s so expensive!
Tumblr media
They have soju & makgeolli as well, at regular market price.
The owner lady was cute & friendly. We had a very brief conversation before I headed out. She reminded me of the Kdrama ahjummas haha
Tumblr media
Got the bulgogi poutine. I didn’t care for the fries. .. bcos you know, Costco fries are my favourite! The beef quality & quantity was excellent for what this item was priced at. They used the nice thinly-spiced hot pot beef. I was totally expecting beef shreds. The sauce was also very nice. Usually bulgogi isn’t spicy, & the main reason why I got this was for my nieces. But I guess they use either the spicy bulgogi sauce or some other form of spicy sauce in their bulgogi, so it was a little spicy. Oops! But altogether, it worked so well: the sweetness of the bulgogi, slight spicy, & the savoury cheese.
Tumblr media
Every chicken order comes with a side of pickled radish. Love how they also handed out salt & pepper haha
Tumblr media
The OG chicken (half order = 11 pieces).
Pretty sure they double fry their chicken; that’s why it was so crispy without the batter being really thick. It was so good. Chicken was juicy & the batter/chicken was seasoned well. Wasn’t too spicy, so that was a huge plus!
Tumblr media
For a limited time only, they’re giving out free rice cakes (till end of August) for every sauce chicken order :P I got the soy garlic chicken, so it came with rice cakes in soy garlic flavour.  PS: it was only for take-out or to-go orders via their website only; not thru a food delivery app or anything.
Tumblr media
The soy sauce chicken but basically the OG chicken, but later dipped in soy garlic sauce. I’m not a biggest fan of soy garlic sauce but this one was amazing! It was more sweet than savoury.
