HAZBIN HOTEL: ADRIAN'S REFERENCE
All art is done by @beazzlebug but Adrian himself belongs to me!
HUMAN
Full name: Adrian Mulligan
Tumblr media
Lifespan: 1914-1947
Age at death: 33
COD: Murder (bullet wound in the chest)
Personality: Adrian has a happy-go-lucky attitude while he's alive. An optimist with a snarky reply on the tip of his tongue. His sense of humour can be dry and at times brash. Definitely has an interesting choice of insults for anyone. He's very charismatic and will definitely try to charm you out of your life's savings. He's excitable and always looking for something new to try whether it be good or bad. He's very ✨ fruity ✨. He admittedly lost his childlike spark in the year leading up to his death.
Life in a nutshell: Born in Dublin, 1914. He grew up in Ireland until 1925 and his family moved to NYC in search of the American Dream. He was 11 at the time. Adrian quickly realised that he wasn't exactly America's...type (historically accurate!). That's when he figured out that he's on his own here. To make ends meet, he began getting involved in crime. Nothing too extreme at first. Petty theft and pickpocketing here and there. Whatever meant money. He met Angel Dust (then Anthony) when he tried to pickpocket him when they were both teenagers. Luckily for Adrian, Anthony found it hilarious and maybe adorable. The two started meeting behind the backs of Anthony's family for a while until Adrian was finally introduced. That's how Adrian got involved in the mafia in 1930 when he was just 16 years old. He became quite a mysterious but notorious con artist. He started doing bigger scams than just pickpocketing. The scams that got him real money...and enemies. When Anthony died at the beginning of 1947, it hit Adrian like a truck. He crumbled. He was thrown off his game by the grief and that was dangerous for someone in Adrian's line of work. Later that same year, he was coming back from visiting Anthony's grave for the millionth time and had to cut through alleys. What he didn't know was that some people weren't too happy with losing their money...which cost Adrian his life that night.
DEMON
NAME: ADRIAN (THE SHADOW DEMON)
Tumblr media
He's a fox demon!
In a way, he's grateful he died so soon because he doubts he could've lived the rest of his life without his best friend. On the other hand, he hates his demon appearance. He knows full well that it's the universe's way of saying "fuck you" since Adrian was hunted, shot and left to die - like a fox hunted for sport. He died in the most dehumanising way he could imagine and now he has to spend eternity in Hell as the exact thing he felt like when he died.
Then he had a thought.
He spent his life feeling like scum to society and not just because of his profession. Why should his afterlife be the same? That was the start of his descent into blind ambition and greed. Some demons have some sort of power after their fall to Hell. Adrian was one of them. Fortune telling and the ability to manipulate shadows in the palm of his hand. That's not enough. He needs purpose. He needs to feel worthy of something, anything. Cue his meeting with the Radio Demon. Alastor saw Adrian's potential. Desperation mixed with unchecked ambition and a need for validation...but also a silver-tongued, charismatic, rather sarcastic fox. A contract just waiting to be signed. Alastor approached Adrian with his proposal: Alastor's guidance and protection in return for Adrian's soul. Needless to say, Adrian gladly seized the opportunity. Under Alastor's wing, Adrian soon began collecting souls for himself in return for his abilities of fortune telling using demonic tarot cards. Who wouldn't want to know their fate in the cesspit of despair that is Hell? His powers along with his mysterious aura earned him the title of "The Shadow Demon".
However, a contract with Alastor is never as good as it seems. When the Hazbin Hotel opened and Alastor volunteered to help run it "out of sheer absolute boredom", Adrian found himself summoned to work there. Work there as a butler of all things. Who knows? Perhaps Adrian will grow to like the hotel.
Thanks for reading! Adrian is something I've been working on for a while now and I'm pretty proud of him since he no longer lives entirely in my head! As always, feel free to raid my inbox with any questions about anything about him and I'll try my best to answer! 😁
Also Adrian does have a full demon form but I have no idea what it is yet so I've let beazzlebug get creative!

New York City is the most iconic and most visited city in the United States. With its distinctive skyline, diverse neighborhoods, world-class museums, incredible Broadway productions, and melting pot of cultures, NYC attracts millions of visitors each year. (It’s also the place I call home.) New York City is huge. I mean, ten million people live here. Where do you stay when you’re here? There are so many hotels to choose from. To help you plan your visit and narrow down your options, here’s my list of the best hotels in NYC: 1. East Village Hotel Located in the East Village, my absolute favorite neighborhood in NYC, this boutique aparthotel is run more like an Airbnb than a traditional hotel. You get sent a code before arrival to check in, and there’s no staff or restaurant on site (though an outpost of The Bean, a popular NYC café, is right downstairs). The studio apartments are designed to reflect the neighborhood’s bohemian spirit, with contemporary artistic décor, beautiful exposed brick walls, and lots of natural light. The kitchenettes include a stovetop, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, and silverware. Rooms include comfy pillowtop beds, showers with good water pressure, a flatscreen TV, and complimentary bath products. Everything is pretty compact, but in an area with few hotels, this is one of the best-value spots. Stay here if you want to be in a central location with tons of great restaurants and bars at your fingertips.   2. The Marlton Originally built in 1900, this historic boutique hotel in Greenwich Village has been home to many of the area’s bohemian set, including one of my favorite writers, Jack Kerouac (he even penned a few novellas here). I like that the hotel’s extensive renovations still kept its classic aesthetic. The beautiful interior has a stately feel, with ornate moldings, herringbone parquet floors, and vintage furnishings like brass light fixtures, ornate rugs, and custom-made furniture. The staff are super friendly too. The rooms are pretty small, but well designed to make use of the space. They come with flat-screen TVs, comfy beds with plush bedding, wardrobes, minibars, and marble bathrooms. The Marlton is also home to an excellent bar that serves incredible cocktails, and there’s a complimentary breakfast available too. I think it’s the best value for your money in the area.   3. Vocabulary: The Franklin This three-star hotel is in a 19th-century brownstone in the Upper East Side, the neighborhood I live in (if you see me, say hi!). The rooms here are simple, but the hotel has some great perks, like a free 24-hour espresso bar and a standard late checkout time of 12 p.m. The restaurant is currently being renovated, so there’s no breakfast available on-site, but there are tons of places just steps away. The rooms are decorated in a minimal (but cozy) style, with white-painted chandeliers and cute original art. All rooms come with large TVs and comfy pillow-top mattresses, while their larger rooms come with a desk and easy chair. Everything is newly renovated, and the glass-enclosed showers have excellent pressure. The location is great too, as it’s on a quiet, leafy street close to Central Park and Museum Mile.   4. Hotel Indigo This four-star hotel is dedicated to supporting local street art and artists, and you’ll see plenty of their work throughout the building. The rooftop bar, Mr. Purple, is a favorite among locals for fancy cocktails, and on the weekends, the area turns into an upscale club. (Because of that, it’s a 21+ hotel.). There’s even a heated pool on the rooftop too. The rooms boast hardwood floors, bold artwork, and floor-to-ceiling windows with impressive views over the city. All rooms also include Keurig machines, desks, and a minibar (for which you get a $20 USD credit). The bathrooms are large, beautifully tiled, and feature rainfall shower heads. While there’s no breakfast served on site, you’re just steps away from tons of great eateries open at all hours. Overall,
I think this hotel is the best place to stay if you want to experience NYC’s legendary nightlife.   5. The Standard The Standard is one of the best hotels in the city (I think this East Side location is even better than the one in the Meatpacking district). The bar serves some of the best drinks in town and is usually always packed with NY’s fashionable set. There’s a café where you can get breakfast in the mornings too. The recently renovated rooms are gorgeous, decorated in a minimal design with bright pops of color and lots of natural light thanks to the floor-to-ceiling windows. They’re pretty big too, especially by NYC standards. All rooms at this four-star hotel feature plush beds, fluffy down pillows, huge flatscreen TVs, Bluetooth speakers, cozy bathrobes, work desks, and stocked minibars. The bathrooms are spacious, with tiled walk-in showers and organic designer toiletries. You’ll also get complimentary access to the nearby Crunch gym (in case you want to work off all the delicious food from the plethora of nearby restaurants).   6. The Library Hotel Everything at this four-star hotel is book-related. Each of the ten floors has a different theme, and all of the 60 rooms have dozens of books that fit within that theme (the hotel has a collection of over 6,000 books!). There’s also a Reading Room lounge with work desks, cozy nooks for reading or writing, and 24/7 coffee, tea, snacks, and drinks. Guest rooms are a good size (for NYC) and feature rich wood furnishings in a sleek, contemporary design, with plush bedding, minibars, flatscreen TVs, desks, and luxury bath products. There’s also free breakfast, a rooftop terrace with a bar that serves literary-themed drinks, and really helpful staff. It’s a quiet respite from an otherwise busy and loud neighborhood. Stay here for a unique experience that’s close to major tourist sites like Times Square, the Empire State Building, and Grand Central Station.   7. The Sherry-Netherland Located on Fifth Avenue, right across from Central Park, this ornate five-star hotel is housed in a stunning Beaux-Arts building. The lobby boasts vaulted, painted ceilings and custom-made chandeliers, and the elevator even has a white-gloved operator, just to highlight how upscale this property is. The property’s Italian restaurant serves breakfast in the mornings, and there’s a fitness center available too. The spacious rooms are elegantly decorated, with mahogany desks, tasteful art on the walls, and large marble bathrooms. All rooms include flatscreen TVs, luxury bath products, complimentary soda, mineral water, and chocolates, and daily newspaper delivery. This is the place to stay if you want to splash out on a classy and timeless NYC hotel experience.

Ultimate Guide to Finding the Best Event Venue for Every Occasion
When it comes to hosting a memorable event, choosing the perfect event venue can make all the difference. Whether you're organizing a corporate gathering, wedding, birthday party, or social event, the venue sets the stage for the entire experience. In this ultimate guide, we’ll explore everything you need to know about selecting the best event venue for your occasion. From understanding the types of venues available to finding one that aligns with your vision and budget, this comprehensive article will walk you through all the essential steps.
Tumblr media
Why Choosing the Right Event Venue Matters
Choosing the right event venue is the foundation of a successful event. It’s the place where your guests will gather, celebrate, and create lasting memories. The right venue can elevate your event, provide the right ambiance, and ensure that all your needs are met. However, finding the perfect venue can sometimes feel overwhelming with so many options available.
The Importance of Location
Location plays a significant role in the success of your event. Whether it’s a destination wedding, a corporate seminar, or a local celebration, choosing a venue that is convenient and accessible for your guests is key. Consider the location's proximity to hotels, airports, and public transportation, especially if your attendees are traveling from out of town.
Setting the Right Ambiance
The atmosphere of your event venue will directly impact your guest experience. Whether you’re looking for an elegant ballroom, a chic rooftop, or a casual warehouse, the venue should complement the tone of your event. For instance, a formal event like a wedding or gala would benefit from a refined ballroom, while a creative workshop might find the best setting in a modern loft or art gallery.
Types of Event Venues
When it comes to selecting an event venue, you’ll quickly realize that there are a wide range of options to choose from. Below are the most popular types of venues to consider:
1. Ballrooms and Banquet Halls
Ballrooms and banquet halls are classic choices for formal events like weddings, galas, and corporate dinners. These venues often feature elegant chandeliers, high ceilings, and large spaces to accommodate hundreds of guests. They are equipped with everything you need for a polished event, from catering facilities to audio-visual equipment.
Popular Venues:
The Plaza Hotel – One of NYC’s most iconic venues for upscale weddings and large events.
Cipriani Wall Street – Known for its historic elegance and spacious ballroom.
2. Rooftop Venues
For a more modern, stylish, and unique experience, rooftop venues offer stunning views of the city’s skyline. These venues are perfect for cocktail parties, receptions, and other events where you want to combine an unforgettable setting with a luxurious feel.
Popular Venues:
The Rooftop at Pier 17 – Located in South Street Seaport, this venue provides incredible views of the Brooklyn Bridge.
Le Bain at The Standard – Known for its chic ambiance and views of the Hudson River.
3. Lofts and Studios
Lofts and studios offer a more contemporary, industrial, and flexible space for events. These venues are often open-plan, with minimalist décor, making them ideal for creative events like art exhibits, pop-up shops, and corporate brainstorming sessions. Lofts and studios provide the opportunity to customize the space to your event’s needs.
Popular Venues:
501 Union – A modern, industrial space located in Brooklyn with high ceilings and a versatile layout.
The Loft at 3 West Club – An intimate venue in Manhattan, perfect for smaller gatherings and corporate events.
4. Unique Event Venues (Museums, Theaters, and More)
If you want your event to stand out and leave a lasting impression, consider hosting it in a unique venue like a museum, theater, or historical building. These venues not only offer a one-of-a-kind backdrop but also provide a cultural and artistic ambiance that can elevate your event.
Popular Venues:
The American Museum of Natural History – Host your event in a space surrounded by fascinating exhibits.
The Beacon Theatre – A historic venue perfect for performances, corporate events, and more.
How to Choose the Perfect Event Venue
1. Consider Your Event’s Purpose
The first step in choosing the right event venue is determining your event’s purpose and vibe. Are you planning a formal corporate event, an intimate family gathering, or a lively celebration? The venue should reflect the nature of your event. For example, a professional conference might benefit from a modern, tech-equipped conference center, while a wedding may call for a romantic and elegant ballroom.
2. Capacity and Layout
Before committing to a venue, make sure it can accommodate your guest list comfortably. Consider the size of the space and how it will be arranged to suit your event. A good event venue should be spacious enough for your guests to move around easily while also offering flexibility for different seating arrangements and setups.
3. Budget Considerations
Your budget will have a significant impact on the venues you choose. NYC, for instance, offers a variety of venues at different price points. Some venues may offer all-inclusive packages, while others may charge separately for services like catering and event coordination. Be sure to ask about any additional costs when evaluating a venue.
4. Amenities and Services
Different event venues come with different amenities. Some venues offer full-service catering, AV equipment, and event coordination, while others may require you to hire external vendors. It's important to assess what services are included in the venue’s rental fee to avoid unexpected costs later on.
5. Location and Accessibility
When selecting a venue, think about your guests’ convenience. If you’re hosting an event in a large city like New York, consider how easy it is for your guests to access the venue. Is there ample parking? Is the venue near public transit? For larger events, you may need to factor in additional logistics such as shuttle services or accommodations.
Tumblr media

Hotels in Bronx Near Yankee Stadium
Are you thinking about traveling to the Bronx in New York City to see a game at the famous Yankee Stadium, attend a concert, or just discover more about this energetic borough? Finding the best hotel in the Bronx that combines comfort and amenities at a reasonable price is what makes the trip complete. Being close to Yankee Stadium simply means having the best of both worlds, whether one is a sports fan, tourist, or business traveler: the thrill of the Bronx and easy access to all of New York City's main attractions.
Tumblr media
The top hotels in the Bronx close to Yankee Stadium are listed in the guide that follows. Particular focus is placed on Ramada Bronx, one of the best-rated choices. It is a fantastic starting point for anyone wishing to see the Bronx because of its comfort, affordability, and several first-rate services. To ensure that your stay is as pleasurable as possible, we go into great detail regarding the rooms, amenities, and anything else you might want to know.
Why Stay Near Yankee Stadium?
Let me give you a preview of why staying near Yankee Stadium will make your trip unmatched before I go into the specifics of Ramada Bronx. One of the most popular destinations for baseball fans or tourists is Yankee Stadium, which is situated at 1 East 161st Street. The New York Yankees' home is more than simply a place to go for sports; it's a cultural landmark where fans can enjoy exciting games, elegant concerts, or historical exhibit tours.
The following justifies the importance of prioritizing stays close to Yankee Stadium:
Ultimate Convenience: Getting lodging nearby saves a ton of time and hassle when traveling to New York to see a Yankees game or any other event hosted in the stadium. Just save them the trouble of trudging across town when they can get to the stadium with a quick car or walk.
Activities in the Bronx: Yankee Stadium is not the only attraction in the Bronx. The visitors will visit nearby attractions such as the Bronx Museum of the Arts, the New York Botanical Garden, and the Bronx Zoo. These provide a broader view of the Bronx's rich natural and cultural past.
Reasonably priced: The majority of Hotels In The Bronx Near Yankee Stadium have comparatively lower rates. This is significantly less expensive than Manhattan but slightly more expensive than New Jersey. All of NYC's main attractions are still quite conveniently accessible. You can enjoy everything that New York City has to offer without going over budget for lodging.
Unusual Experience: The Bronx will give you a new perspective on New York. Although it is different from staying anywhere else, the region has its own culture, history, and people, giving you a sense of New York City.
A cozy and practical stay
A stay at the Ramada Bronx is undoubtedly pleasant if one is looking for a tidy, reasonably priced, and comfortable hotel in the Bronx. Located at 1000 Baychester Avenue, this would be an excellent starting point for business travelers who want to visit Yankee Stadium for a game or just to take in the sights. The thoughtfully designed facilities, well-built accommodations, and easy access to the main attractions make it the top choice for many tourists.
The Best Place
In terms of a fan's demands, the Ramada Bronx is central, even though Yankee Stadium is not within walking distance. This includes convenient journeys to and from the stadium and other Bronx attractions. Traveling around the Bronx and, consequently, important sites like Yankee Stadium is made relatively easy given the easy access to major highways like I-95 and the Hutchinson River Parkway.
Our house is only ten minutes' drive from the Gun Hill Road subway station, which serves the 2 and 5 trains. Yankee Stadium can be reached by subway in under twenty to twenty-five minutes. In addition to providing convenient access to downtown Manhattan, this public transportation option will help you avoid the parking nightmare that is Yankee Stadium on game days.

4/22/24 I took off from the Cape on what Siri suggested would be a 7 hr drive. Around NYC there were accidents, slowdowns, and Siri lying about the best route. So much concrete! It took 14 hrs before I arrived at my aIr bnb. My hosts were generous and left the door open for my 1 AM arrival. Endurance proven but my tech relationship with Siri needs practice.
I made my way to Christiana, PA the next AM. I am in Amish country. Horse drawn buggies. Beautiful fields.
I made the Monday tour by the Christiana Historical Society. 10 Texan history women were there on the tour. The last photo was our guide. Her 3rd Great grandfather was one of the resisters.
The story was of the 1850 Fugitive Slave Act, requiring Northerners to assist Southern slaver owners trying to recover “their property” . My distant relative was overly aggressive and was shot dead. His son Dickenson was wounded but was cared for for 4 weeks by Quakers and converted. Edward’s youngest son was in boarding school with John Booth Luce who saw his friend’s grief. Lincoln’s death may have originated in this event.
30 black men were rounded up by federal authorities and imprisoned at the Zercher Hotel. The charge was treason. They hoped to hang the resisters. Thaddeus Stevens was a lawyer for the defendants and won their freedom.
This may have been a start in the civil War.

Reginald’s Winter Julep
Tumblr media
Years ago when I worked at fancy hotels in Austin, Texas, I liked working the holidays. Folks would talk about holiday stress, but it never applied to me. I mean, working in hospitality is pretty stressful all the time. Making it the goal to relieve the stress of your guests and handling business, then looking forward to blowing off steam after work with your coworkers was a fun yearly ritual. If anything, I felt the stress (or sadness) after the holidays ended.
One of my favorite things to behold was the selling of Stingers to guests during this time. I think wealthy Texans definitely got the memo, that this was THE drink of NY “Society” during Prohibition. It wouldn’t be unusual to see a son drinking Stingers with his dad and grandfather at a holiday dinner. A really comforting generational tradition to witness.
I made a vow to create the cider version of a Stinger for this holiday season for Virtue Farm. After a fair bit of R&D, Reginald’s Winter Julep is here. A note to those new to this website - Virtue has only the licenses to make and sell our own cider. We cannot buy spirits or liqueurs. We get very creative for our cocktail program, which makes it a fun challenge.
For this two ingredient classic, to get the Cognac element, we make a heavily vanilla’d Demerara syrup, then quad-strength Emperor’s Mint Chocolate tea from Rare Tea Cellars with a splash of their Mocha Chai is the stand-in for Crème de Menthe. Our Mitten Reserve at 10.1% abv, made in barrels that once aged Old Forester Birthday Bourbon and Bourbon County Stout do the rest of the heavy lifting to create a boozier impression.
We just launched it today. I would love it if someone already familiar with a Stinger or better yet an aficionado of them would order one and give me their feedback. Maybe, they’ll like ours the best?!
The name, Reginald’s Winter Julep, comes from the man who didn’t create it, but certainly popularized the Stinger, Reginald Vanderbilt. He made them religiously for guests of his NYC mansion, behind his bar that was a replica from the tavern, William the Conqueror, in Normandy. Seems fitting we should make them at our Norman-inspired cider house in Fennville.

Cafe Chelsea
Tumblr media
Café Chelsea is a new all-day French American bistro located within the historic Hotel Chelsea; it is the hotel’s first new restaurant since the opening of El Quijote in 1930. The restaurant features classic dishes, inspired by traditional French cuisine with a focus on exceptional ingredients. The space was designed to compliment the historic building, emanating a sense that it’s always been part of the hotel. Works of art that have belonged to the property for decades hang throughout the space and traditional French accents have been incorporated. Café Chelsea is open for dinner seven nights a week beginning at 5 p.m., with plans to open all day, offering breakfast and lunch in the near future; reservations can be made via Resy.
