Forget empathy and basic human decency. Objectively providing housing to the homeless IS CHEAPER for you as a tax payer then to have them on the street. Literally every single study confirms. And yes some of them will trash their homes, some of them will turn them into drug dens and yet it's still cheaper for you as a tax payer Also it's extremely easy to build. For decades Americans have been brainwashed to believe that their cardboard houses in horrifying suburbs are what housing it's suppouse to look like but it's not. Properly built apartment buildings can house thousands at a regions that's the size of a few simple football field(that's the standard of measurment in USA right?) And you can eaisly have seerate buildings for different types of homless people. You can have a building for housig homless families, you can have one for housing homeless youths, one for LGBTQ people, one for elderly homeless and so on and so on. And the best part is that that apartment buldings can offer a lot of oppoortunities. Underground parking garages are already standard around the world as a place where the homless who have cars could be able to keep them and the ground floors of each of these buildings can be used to offer services. You can have kitchens which offer free food to the homeless, you can have addiction centers , you can have mental help centers, you can have daycares for the homeless with kids, you can have social workers right there on the spot. Imagine how much easier it would be for the homeles and for the people who try to help them if they are all in the same place liteally just a few minutes on foot "You are creating slums , ghettos" you say. Yes that can certainly happen if the project is deliberately sabotaged the same as with everyting else
Disabled people have to live somewhere poor people have to live somewhere you cant just exclude us from everywhere

Valet Parking Is an Important Part of Your Restaurant or Event Team
When choosing a valet parking service for your restaurant or event, there are many companies to consider. We take pride in being the best among them. We consider ourselves to be an important part of your team, and the first and last impression the guest has of their evening.
A professional valet parking attendant is the first impression your guest has of your restaurant or event. We take great pride not only in employing the most attentive, friendly and professional staff but in the training that we provide them.
Experienced valet parking staff will always greet your guests promptly, take their keys, provide them with their ticket and park their car quickly and safely.
We are proud to say that we go above and beyond. In addition to these basic and important skills, our staff is trained in many other areas of valet service.
We perform a visual inspection of the outside of the car in the few moments that it takes the guest to approach the valet station, gather their things and exit the vehicle. Are there pre-existing scratches or dings that could cause a complaint? We point those out to the guest so that they are aware of them when they hand over their vehicle. Are their brake lights working properly? Does a tire appear to be low on air? The guest may be unaware of such things.
Customer service training is an area that many valet parking companies only touch on.
A friendly demeanor at drop-off and a quick and pleasant pick-up is all that many guests expect. Our valet attendants are trained to quickly inspect the interior of the car in much the same way that they inspect the exterior. A quick check of the center console often reveals wallets, cell phones, sunglasses, and even event tickets. The back seat and foot-wells can hide purses, jackets, and gifts. Checking these areas for forgotten items greatly decreases guest stress.
Our staff is also fully briefed on many aspects of your location or the event which we are servicing.
Arriving guests may ask for the closest restrooms or a smoking area. Departing guests may need directions to the freeway or recommendations for well-rated local nightlife. Knowledge of the event location can make the guest’s first and last impressions a positive experience.
There are many ways that restaurant managers and event directors can increase the professionalism and effectiveness of their valet parking staff. Restaurant managers can include the valet staff in the pre-service meeting and tasting. In the few moments that we interact with your guests, valet attendants get a surprising amount of questions about their favorite menu items.
Event directors can inform the valet attendants to notify them of the arrival of important guests such as the groom’s grandparents or a headliner’s friends. This allows our staff to give the grandparents the additional care they deserve, or the friends the VIP treatment that your headliner has planned.
We hope that this window into the operations of a well-trained valet parking staff has helped you see professional valet service as an important and integral part of your team. © Park & Go USA Valet Parking Services

EDITOR: A post was shared stating USA TODAY listed our beloved Jocassee Dam as one of the best swimming lakes! These are great reasons! LRogersMartin

Jottings from Miz Jeannie by Jeannie Barnwell An experience with my puppy trainer on Friday made me aware of a stunning error in my approach to human parenting. I am teaching collie puppy STARLIGHT to sit. The trainer tells Starlight to focus, and calmly voices the command, "Sit." Mission accomplished. Now it's my turn: "Starlight, sit. Sit. Sit! C'mon, girl. Good sit. Please Sit! Sit Girl, Sit!!!" Says I to Me: "It's not working... I have a stupid dog...I'm wasting my money on the trainer. THEN, the trainer divulges, "Look how much energy YOU are wasting and you are getting NO RESULTS. Chris discloses, "Just make sure that you have Starlight's attention, THEN say the command ONCE and wait for her to follow your order. By Golly! It worked. HOW I WISH I HAD USED THIS TECHNIQUE WITH MY BOYS! Instead of "Drink your milk, Drink your milk, Drink you MILK!!!!" I could have said. "Focus on what I am saying. Drink your milk." Then, there would be a waiting period for them to respond. Hey! I had the car keys to drive us to the park. I controlled cookie distribution. But neither event would unfold until they drank the milk. Brilliant! Try this and tell me if it works at your house! Miz Jeannie loves you! Come and be the hands & feet of Christ. Radio, Family, and Marriage Health Radio Stations: People new to our Tamassee-Salem and Upstate SC area comment on the number of Christian radio stations in our listening area. One of my favorites in the morning is GNN 96.7. “It is uplifting and encouraging!” to borrow words from the station. Each day speakers share hope dealing with life, family, children, or marriage challenges. One thought to share today is how marriages can easily drift apart when you do keep your eyes on solid ground. The analogy used was going into the ocean allowing the tides to drift us away from where our belongings are placed. Also, what we choose to listen to can feed our thoughts—to actively come together—or passively drift apart. So turn on uplifting words and uplifting music to lift your spirits. Iced Cold Water on the Go: Save your plastic drink bottles and fill with water. Freeze. Grab one to take with you on the go to always have refreshing cold water in the summer heat. Use the frozen bottles to keep items cool in the ice chest too.

International Views of the U.S. (Pew Research Center) In the third year of his presidency, U.S. President Joe Biden receives mostly positive reviews from publics around the world. Across 23 countries in a new Pew Research Center survey, a median of 54% express confidence in Biden, while 39% say they lack confidence in him. Similarly, overall views of the United States are largely positive: A median of 59% give the U.S. a favorable rating. However, people see both positive and negative sides to American power. Overwhelmingly, people believe the U.S. interferes in the affairs of other countries—a median of 82% say it does this a great deal or fair amount—but most also believe the U.S. contributes to peace and stability around the world. America’s technology, universities, military and entertainment are all seen as being the best or above average when compared with other wealthy nations, although the U.S. receives mixed reviews for its standard of living.
USPS is making changes in July (USA Today) Changes are coming to your mail in July, as new U.S. Postal Service pricing takes effect early in the month. Costs will go up by 5 cents to mail a first-class, international letter and by 3 cents on multiple items, as USPS tries to offset inflation and bring in “much needed revenue,” according to the agency. This month will mark the fourth price increase in two years on Forever Stamps, which have increased from 55 cents in 2021 to 66 cents on July 9.
Migration Tilts US Economy Southward (Bloomberg) A pandemic-driven flood of transplants to the South has resulted in six states—Florida, Texas, Georgia, the Carolinas and Tennessee—contributing more to the national GDP than the Washington-New York-Boston corridor for the first time since government figures going back to the 1990s. In recent decades, the warmer weather, lower taxes, looser regulation and cheaper housing lured companies and retirees. But this Covid-era Sun Belt economic upswing is wider in scope and shows no sign of reversing.
30 injured, 2 fatally, in Baltimore mass shooting (ABC News) At least 30 people were injured, two fatally, when a mass shooting erupted early Sunday in Baltimore, turning what had been a festive neighborhood block party into what one witness described as a "war zone." Three of the injured people were in critical condition, officials said. Just two days into the month, it is one of three mass shootings in July and one of 338 mass shootings in the US in 2023, according to the Gun Violence Archive. There was no information on suspects or a motive.
Pedestrian deaths in 2022 rose to level not seen since 1981 (AP) The Governors Highway Safety Association (GHSA) is a nonprofit that calls itself “The States’ Voice on Highway Safety,” annually releasing a data and reports about what’s happening on U.S. roads. This year’s report on preliminary data for pedestrian deaths in 2022 is not good news. According to early GHSA figures for 49 states and Washington, D.C., 7,508 pedestrians died last year after being hit by vehicles. The true number is undoubtedly higher, though, because Oklahoma wasn’t able to submit its information due to a technical issue; that state has averaged 92 deaths over the past few years. Even as it stands, there haven’t been that many pedestrian fatalities in the U.S. since 1981. Motorcyclists and cyclists are also enduring an uptick in traffic fatalities; however, the surge for pedestrians represents a 77% increase in the past 13 years. The brunt of deaths occur when it’s dark and on roads without sidewalks.
Grandmother of French teen shot dead by police officer pleads with rioters to stop violent protests (AP) The grandmother of the French teenager shot dead by police during a traffic stop pleaded Sunday for rioters to stop as the nation faced a sixth straight night of unrest, while authorities expressed outrage at an attack on a mayor’s home that was hit by a burning car that injured family members. The grandmother of 17-year-old Nahel, identified only as Nadia, said in a telephone interview with French news broadcaster BFM TV, “Don’t break windows, buses ... schools. We want to calm things down.” She said she was angry at the officer who killed her grandson but not at the police in general and expressed faith in the justice system as France faces its worst social upheaval in years. Her grandson, identified by only his first name, was buried on Saturday.
Ukraine’s top general wants shells, planes and patience (Washington Post) For Ukraine’s counteroffensive to progress faster, Gen. Valery Zaluzhny, the top officer in Ukraine’s armed forces, says he needs more—of every weapon. And he is telling anyone who will listen, including his American counterpart, Gen. Mark A. Milley, as recently as Wednesday, that he needs those resources now. In a rare, wide-ranging interview with The Washington Post, Zaluzhny expressed frustration that while his biggest Western backers would never launch an offensive without air superiority, Ukraine still has not received modern fighter jets but is expected to rapidly take back territory from the occupying Russians. American-made F-16s, promised only recently, are not likely to arrive until the fall—in a best-case scenario. His troops also should be firing at least as many artillery shells as their enemy, Zaluzhny said, but have been outshot tenfold at times because of limited resources. So it “pisses me off,” Zaluzhny said, when he hears that Ukraine’s long-awaited counteroffensive in the country’s east and south has started slower than expected. His troops have gained some ground—even if it’s just 500 meters—every day, he said.
Are Iran’s hard-liners losing the battle over women’s headscarves? (CSM) The veteran schoolteacher will never forget the first time she broke Iranian law by venturing into public without her head covered, and felt the wind in her hair. Widespread protests had been raging for three months after the mid-September death in custody of 22-year-old Mahsa Amini, who had been detained by Iran’s so-called morality police, allegedly for showing too much hair. In response, Iranian women burned their headscarves in public and let their hair down. And—as the protests widened, with women and men together at the barricades facing a crackdown that reportedly left more than 500 dead and 20,000 detained—they demanded the toppling of the Islamist regime. “I went to a mall [with] tears in my eyes,” says the primary school teacher, who gives the name Neda, recalling her first moments of breaking Iran’s strict hijab rules. “I can’t describe the feeling of air going through my hair.” These days the 40-something professional routinely goes out with hair flowing: to the cafe, in the streets, and “everywhere.” “Now in my country it’s like feeling free, and brave,” Neda says. “A year ago, we even did not think it could happen at all.” Iranian hard-liners have been scrambling to find ways to stanch and reverse this enduring defiance, which they deem an existential threat to the 1979 Islamic Revolution.
Israel targets West Bank militant stronghold with drones, hundreds of troops, killing 5 Palestinians (AP) Israeli drones struck targets in a militant stronghold in the occupied West Bank early Monday and hundreds of troops were deployed in the area, an incursion that resembled the wide-scale military operations carried out during the second Palestinian uprising two decades ago. Palestinian health officials said at least five Palestinians were killed. Troops remained inside the Jenin refugee camp Monday, pushing ahead with the largest operation in the area during more than a year of fighting. It came at a time of growing domestic pressure for a tough response to a series of attacks on Israeli settlers—including a shooting attack last week that killed four people. Black smoke rose from the crowded streets of the camp as the military pressed on. Electricity was cut off in some parts and military bulldozers were plowing through narrow streets—another reminder of Israel’s incursions during the last uprising. The Palestinians and neighboring Jordan condemned the violence.
At least 51 people killed in road accident in western Kenya, 32 injured (AP) A truck rammed into several other vehicles and market traders in western Kenya killing at least 51 people, police said. The Friday evening accident occurred at a location known for vehicle crashes near the Rift Valley town of Londiani, which is about 200 kilometers (125 miles) northwest of the capital, Nairobi. Officers at the scene counted 51 bodies, but more people were believed to be trapped in the wreckage, Rift Valley police commander Tom Odera told The Associated Press.
Silicon Valley Drug Culture (WSJ) Drug use has moved from an after-hours activity into corporate culture across Silicon Valley. Psychedelics—ecstasy, magic mushrooms and LSD, among others—have become so prevalent that they’re now turning up in businesses and boardrooms. Elon Musk takes ketamine, a hallucinogenic drug that acts like a psychedelic, while Sergey Brin sometimes consumes psilocybin. Spencer Shulem, the CEO of the startup BuildBetter.ai, said he uses LSD about every three months to increase focus and creativity. Investors and VC firms, he said, generally have high expectations, so founders need an edge. “They don’t want a normal person, a normal company,” he said. “They want something extraordinary. You're not born extraordinary.” There’s a danger of abuse and dependence, though. Former Zappos CEO Tony Hsieh began using ketamine to find a business breakthrough and became addicted before his November 2020 death. “There’s no guarantee you’re going to be the one who gets that positive outcome on your own,” warned Alex Penrod, an addiction specialist in Austin, Texas. Silicon Valley has long had a tolerance for drug use. But the difference here is how it’s affecting the workplace. “There are millions of people microdosing psychedelics right now,” Karl Goldfield, a former sales and marketing consultant in San Francisco, said.

To catch a glimpse of the ever-popular racers and muscle mass automobiles one simply requires to ask around their regional automobile service center for any kind of future cars and truck shows. The grease monkey are permanently conscious of those elusive hot rods as well as muscle automobiles from years passed. The close to neglected grease monkey or shade-tree technicians we choose to refer to them, have almost subsided away as a result of the computer system diagnostic age. A mechanic now-a-days should be outfitted with all the most recent in electrical analysis devices to compete with the car dealerships to eek out a living.
