My Latina friend said that Latinas are generally sweet, touchy-feely people. She said that the actions that C and L show each other can be typical of a Latina friendship or kinship. She said that their interactions are common to Latina culture and it does not make them necessarily gay for each other. What do you think?

I save this ask for last because it's something I wanted to elaborate on. And I'm going to start by admitting that maybe my answer is not going to like because I will be brutally honest about this. I love Lauren, I think everyone in this fandom knows it. I very much support her career, her music. I love the way she thinks even though I don't agree with her sayings sometimes and I hate that she smokes weed, this fandom knows that too. But here I have to be honest and say that since I know who Lauren Jauregui is, what she has said about Latin culture is the stupidest thing I have ever heard coming from her lips. I am Latina, living in a Latino country and I can tell you that what your Latina friend thinks and what Lauren said IS NOT TRUE. There is a big difference between the affection of two friends and an attraction between two women that goes beyond friendship. And I can show you with examples:

Caminah, it's friendship. Camren is attraction and I think there is an example that proves it a little more

Best friends don't look at each other that way. Camren would have been another Caminah or Normila friendship and no one would make any drama about it, but it's Camren and you can see the difference. So I don't know what cable Lauren came across on that anon podcast, but what she said was ridiculous. And the people who believed her are just as naive because yes, Lauren can be as Latin as you want but she was born in the US she adapted to the US idiosyncrasy and she really only knows a part of what Latino culture is truly , because I promise you, it is not the same. If she lived in Latin America she would never have said something like that in her life. I understand that podcast had her purpose and she got it (half) but she got it so I can't say anything more about it. But as a Latina that I am, I think she did offend a community that loves and respects her and all because of a fucking circus that nobody believes in and I hope it dies soon so that it can let us all rest.
