Data Security in Adult Day Care Software: What You Need to Know | myEZcare
In an era where technology is deeply integrated into every aspect of business operations, data security has become a paramount concern, especially in fields like adult day care. As providers of adult daycare solutions increasingly turn to digital tools, ensuring the safety of sensitive information is critical. This is where robust adult daycare software becomes indispensable.
Adult day care software plays a crucial role in managing daily operations, tracking client information, and facilitating communication between caregivers and families. With the transition from traditional paper-based systems to sophisticated digital platforms, the security of this data is a significant consideration. Cloud-based adult daycare software, in particular, offers numerous advantages, including accessibility and scalability, but it also necessitates a rigorous approach to data protection.
Why Data Security is Critical
Adult day care centers handle sensitive information, including personal health records, emergency contacts, and financial details. A breach of this data not only compromises privacy but can also lead to financial and legal repercussions. Ensuring that your adult day care software adheres to stringent security standards is essential to safeguarding this information.
Choosing the Best Adult Daycare Software
When selecting the best adult daycare software for your needs, several factors must be considered:
Encryption: Look for adult daycare solutions that employ strong encryption methods both for data at rest and in transit. Encryption ensures that even if unauthorized parties gain access to the data, it remains unreadable.
Access Controls: The software should provide robust access control mechanisms. This includes role-based access, where different users have access only to the information necessary for their roles, minimizing the risk of internal breaches.
Regular Updates and Patching: The best adult daycare software providers regularly update their systems to address potential vulnerabilities. Ensure that the software you choose is maintained with up-to-date security patches.
Compliance: Ensure that the adult daycare software complies with relevant data protection regulations such as HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act) in the U.S. Compliance indicates that the software meets industry standards for data security.
Backup and Recovery: Cloud-based adult daycare software should include reliable backup and recovery solutions. Regular backups protect against data loss due to system failures or other unforeseen issues.
Benefits of Cloud-Based Solutions
Cloud-based adult daycare software offers flexibility and ease of access, allowing authorized users to securely log in from various locations. However, this convenience also means that the software provider must have robust security measures in place to protect data stored off-site.
Conclusion
Investing in adult day care software is a significant step toward modernizing your operations. However, it’s crucial to prioritize data security when choosing a solution. By selecting software that emphasizes encryption, access controls, regular updates, compliance, and reliable backup options, you can ensure that your data remains secure and your operations run smoothly. The best adult daycare software will not only meet your operational needs but also provide peace of mind regarding the safety of your sensitive information.

Increasing Client Retention: 5 Tips for Building Long-Term Relationships with Families
In the adult day care industry, building and maintaining long-term relationships with families is essential for client retention. Families place a tremendous amount of trust in adult day care centers to care for their loved ones, so ensuring their satisfaction and confidence in your services is key to keeping them coming back. Client retention isn’t just about offering great care—it’s also about creating strong, ongoing connections with families that build loyalty and trust over time.
Here are five practical tips for increasing client retention and fostering long-term relationships with families at your adult day care agency:
1. Provide Personalized Care and Attention
One of the most important factors in building long-term relationships with families is personalized care. Every client has unique needs, preferences, and health conditions, so it’s crucial to offer a tailored experience that meets these needs. Personalization could range from adjusting daily schedules to providing specific activities that your clients enjoy, to having care plans that are regularly updated.
To ensure that each client’s needs are met consistently, adult day care centers can rely on adult day care software. This technology allows for seamless tracking of individual care plans, health updates, medication schedules, and family communications. The ability to offer highly individualized care improves client satisfaction and boosts retention because families feel confident that their loved ones are being well cared for.
2. Foster Open and Transparent Communication
Effective communication is at the heart of building strong relationships with families. Keep families in the loop with regular updates on their loved one's health, mood, and daily activities. This can include phone calls, emails, or even real-time updates via adult daycare software.
Transparency is also important. If there are any changes in care plans, staffing, or policies, be proactive in communicating these changes to families. Being upfront about challenges or issues in the care process helps to build trust and shows that your adult day care agency is committed to providing the best care possible.
With the right adult day center software, families can easily access reports and updates, track their loved one’s progress, and communicate directly with caregivers and administrators. This technology not only improves communication but also reinforces a sense of involvement and partnership in the care process.
3. Offer Consistent and High-Quality Service
Consistency is key when it comes to client retention. Families want to know that the care their loved one receives will be of the same high quality every day. Ensure that your staff is well-trained, your facilities are clean and safe, and that clients are treated with kindness and respect.
To maintain consistency in care delivery, adult day care software can play a significant role. These platforms often include features like caregiver scheduling, activity planning, and care tracking, which help ensure that no detail is overlooked. For example, adult daycare software can alert caregivers to any changes in care plans or highlight critical health information, reducing the chances of errors and ensuring a seamless experience for both clients and their families.
4. Engage Families in the Care Process
Engaging family members in the care process is a powerful way to increase client retention. Families want to feel that they have a voice in their loved one’s care and that their opinions matter. Offering family meetings, inviting them to participate in activities, and involving them in care planning helps to strengthen relationships and create a sense of community.
With the right adult day center software, family members can be directly involved in their loved one’s care by accessing reports, sharing feedback, and communicating with the care team. This can also foster a sense of reassurance that their input is valued and considered.
5. Recognize Milestones and Celebrate Achievements
Acknowledging milestones such as birthdays, anniversaries, or health improvements can go a long way in building positive relationships with families. These small gestures demonstrate that your adult day care agency sees their loved ones as individuals, not just clients.
Adult day care software can help track important dates and achievements, allowing your team to plan small celebrations or send personalized greetings. This not only enhances client satisfaction but also strengthens the emotional bond between your agency and the families you serve.

Heya folks! It is my immense pleasure to introduce to you, Moonbun! I’ve been working on this design ALL DAY, but I am super happy with how it turned out! You might notice this cute little bean is quite friendly looking, well that’s because after the fire, when Fazbear Entertainment rebuilt the daycare, they also took the time to ‘scrub’ the Afton virus out of Moonbun’s software and successfully restore his pre-glitch personality. He’s friendly and loving and he really enjoys helping kids during nap time and helping kids (or adults) with anxiety, depression, adhd, etc. to calm down and feel better if they’re having any mental health issues. Moon likes coloring with crayons, listening to soft music, and using the internet in his head to watch cat videos in his free time. As you can see, just like Sunbun, they got upgrades too -however all the cat-like upgrades were requested by Moonbun specifically since he likes cats so much! I did my best to explain the upgrades, but if you have any questions about them please send an ask my way! I really love Moonbun and I hope you all do too! He’s a precious little soul!

Rita Lux: Fantasy Art that Takes You Back to Your Childhood
Tumblr media
Ritalux’s fantasy art and character development is filled with her childhood experiences!
Tumblr media
What happens when you grow up in an extremely creative environment, with your mom being an animator for all the big studios? You become an artist, or even better, a fantasy artist! Raised in Burbank, CA, Ritalaux’s childhood experiences and exposure to drawing and comics motivated her to pursue an art career. She then went on to study illustration and character design at Otis College. Her early career days included storyboarding for animations and commercials before moving on to illustrations and concept art for toy companies and then video games. Along with Disney, Ritalaux’s clients include Riot games, Mattel, Hasbro, and Illustration Entertainment.
Q. What does fantasy art mean and what inspired you to create illustrations in this category?
Rita: Fantasy art is I think anything magical and out of the ordinary. Everyone thinks fantasy is a small genre, but it’s actually visible in most cult classic and popular classic entertainment. Most comic books, popular sci-fi movies are fantasies. It’s the most fun entertainment genre I think, so that’s what drew me to work in this realm.
Tumblr media
Q. Did your childhood exposure to creativity encourage you to become an artist? Tell us about those childhood memories.
Rita: I grew up in a home where art and entertainment were everywhere. My mother was an animator for Disney and worked for a lot of other popular animation studios. The Disney animation building was our daycare when my sister and I were kids. When we were in middle school (and outgrew the daycare) we would walk around and wander the Disney animation art department, play video games and hang out in my Mom’s office after school every day. I would look at all the concept art and storyboarding art on the walls and wanted to work on that kind of art when I grew up. When I was a kid, I was a big comic collector. From a young age, I would copy comic panels and learn to draw in that style. I was always encouraged by my parents and my mom’s animator friends to pursue a career in entertainment if I chose to. They would give me drawing tips as well as a kid, and that helped me a lot. Because they encouraged me to do art, they gave me the confidence to do it professionally. My mom would also give me solid professional advice so I was prepared for what would be necessary.
Tumblr media
Q. Do you think comic books and superheroes have an influence on your style of creating illustrations?
Rita: Yes totally. I collected comics as a kid and was highly influenced by superheroes. I learned how to draw from comic books because they hire the best illustrators in the world to create them. Comic art is super under-rated in my opinion as the artists have to completely realize and interpret everything. The idealized figures also got me into bodybuilding, just like Frank Frazetta. He kind of emphasized the idealized fit body for a new generation, looking at the advancements in bodybuilding and being fit himself. I’m just a lean tall female myself, not even close to a fitness competitor, but it got me interested at a young age in being fit for life. I think the comic style of strong figures is one of the more empowering role models for me. The inclusivity of so many different types of characters in X-Men for example has been super cool.
Tumblr media
Q. How do you go about creating illustrations as per the brief given?
Rita: I sit and think first and take notes. Then move on to sketching the chosen idea. Sketching and ideation are the foundations of any successful illustration, so if I’m designing something, the idea has to be solid first. I go through several rounds of sketching before I choose a direction. Then refine a line drawing, then color/tone. Then add effects after.
Tumblr media
Q.Which mediums or software do you use to create the fantasy illustrations?
Rita: Photoshop primarily.
Tumblr media
Q. How was your experience working with Disney and Riot games like?
Rita: I worked doing freelance illustration for Disney for the consumer products department. They wanted to do a fashion illustration book with multiple artists to interpret the Princesses in a high fashion style. It was a fun challenge. Riot Games was a great challenge for me, as I was designing characters for “Legends of Runeterra.” It pushed me to understand how to design masculine fantasy characters better. I was learning a lot the whole time and it was really fun. I worked for them for 6 months and had some varied briefs. It helped me understand what is popular in the fantasy games genre.
Tumblr media
Q. Tell us about your experience with Mattel Inc. for Barbie.
Rita: I have been working for Mattel for around 10 years now! I worked as the in house illustrator, where I helped to evolve Barbie’s look as the company changes Barbie’s look every 5 years or so for consumer products. I was a concept artist, illustrator, and retoucher for the brand. A few years ago, they came out with “Barbie Princess Power”, a superhero Barbie movie. They wanted to explore a style that had a comic feel to it. I begged them to let me take a stab at developing what that style could look like. The brand managers loved what I drew, and we started developing a style guide for the movie (for consumer products).
Tumblr media
The movie is produced in 3d by Rainmaker entertainment and was already developed. They usually create a 2d art style and create assets to supplement the movie release. I had a passion for this, as I always thought of Barbie as a girl’s action figure in being an adult. And since Barbie represents “be anything you want to be” I thought she should look stronger, more vibrant, with fuller cheeks, more muscle tone, and more fun! Barbie before this had a thin, fashionable figure and a drab flat expression. So I hoped to bring to the brand more fun and vibrant look to her.
“At Mattel, they used to call me “Barbie’s plastic surgeon” because I would beautify all the art of the brand, but I preferred to be called “Barbie’s personal trainer”.
Tumblr media
The head of the brand liked this new style so much that they changed ALL of the consumer products to this Comic style Barbie for the time being! So that means, the graphic illustrations you see on Barbie doll packaging is still this style I helped create! Hopefully, they keep this style for another few years, as it’s been her core art style for the last 3 years. This was a career highlight for me, as my experience in the animation world, and comic art upbringing helped me make Barbie look strong and more animated. At Mattel, they used to call me “Barbie’s plastic surgeon” because I would beautify up all the art of the brand, but I preferred to be called “Barbie’s personal trainer”. In my mind, if Barbie can surf, sail, and be a pilot or any other cool job, she had better look capable!
Tumblr media
Q. What is your ultimate goal as an artist?
Rita: I like to develop my own intellectual properties, animated series, or video games specifically. So it would be a big goal to see my original characters and story in collaboration with a great team be developed and released with a good response.
Tumblr media
Q. According to you what are the key features of a perfect client?
Rita: A perfect client is one that knows what they want, likes what I provide with minimal notes, and pays quickly. Most clients don’t know what they want specifically, as it is my job to help them discover that. So just a willingness to work collaboratively and be communicative of their goals and feedback is nice to work for.

At the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, companies quickly realized the old workplace benefits—on-site meals and dry-cleaning, anyone?—wouldn’t translate to remote work. Businesses raced to introduce benefits that their employees could take advantage of—and that would be most helpful— during the global crisis.
Now that the pandemic has reached the fall, companies are aiming to meet the changing needs of employees whose children are attending virtual school from home. These are some of the most innovative benefits tailored to the back-to-school season that businesses are now offering their employees.
Accenture
In August, consulting and tech firm Accenture introduced new school-day supervision for children ages 6 through 12 through a partnership with Bright Horizons. Accenture employees can pay $5 an hour—the company covers 75% of the cost—for their children to follow remote learning curriculums in a small group supervised by a proctor. The makeshift school day takes place at Mathnasium, Sylvan Learning, or Code Ninja locations, with supplemental activities available between classes.
Bank of America
Bank of America’s back-up childcare program for employees ended in mid-August; the bank followed up by introducing a daily childcare reimbursement of $75 or $100, depending on the employee’s salary, for children up to 12 years old and children with special needs through 21 years old through Dec. 31.
Through a partnership with Bright Horizons, similar to Accenture’s, Bank of America will provide workers with access to learning hubs and childcare. The company will also offer educational resources through Khan Academy, virtual field trips, and virtual after-school programs. Information on these resources will be available via a centralized hub for parents.
Carta
Fintech startup Carta this month announced a $10,000 annual stipend per employee to help with childcare for kids under 13 years old in both 2020 and 2021.
Citigroup
To its childcare offerings, which include back-up care and enrollment through Bright Horizons, Citi in August added nanny placement services for employees.
For the start of the school year, Citi introduced a service helping employees find caregivers trained in education who can supervise online learning and assistance finding tutors and other families to join small group learning outside the school setting. Citi offers a 10% discount on these services.
Dell Technologies
Dell expanded its longstanding “Connected Workplace” program offering flexibility for remote work to its full workforce in July.
For back-to-school, Dell is offering employees access to virtual learning pods, tutoring services, and help finding childcare providers also trained in education; the company provides some discounts and credits to employees. The company has also expanded its network of childcare centers from 1,000 to 2,400 locations to meet demand as parents search for in-person options with schools closed.
Fidelity Investments
Over the summer, the financial services company ran Fidelity Kids Camp, five weeks of virtual full-day summer activities for employees’ kids.
The company has since pivoted its online concierge service, which has long provided assistance with tasks like planning vacations or finding contractors, to more specifically address the needs of working parents. The service now finds information like where to buy face masks for children, what to make for lunch during the school day, and what availability is like at local daycares.
Intel
Technology company Intel in September switched its backup childcare offering to a monthly reimbursement program, offering employees between $75 and $300 a month to help with caregiving costs.
Earlier this year, the company added 80 hours of supplemental paid time off. The company also changed how its longstanding four- and eight-week sabbatical program for long-term employees can be used to allow for more time off during the pandemic.
KPMG
During the 2020 year, consulting firm KPMG has expanded a number of its existing benefits. The company quadrupled the number of days employees can use the firm’s backup care program; expanded its network of discounted one-on-one or small group tutoring, academic support, test prep, and homework assistance (discounts range from 10% to 30%); and expanded its network of childcare centers with discounted care available from 1,000 to 2,500 locations.
KPMG also created “learning pods” for employees, where parents throughout the organization can team up for virtual or in-person learning for small groups of school-age children.
The firm also has a few benefits it is set to introduce in the coming weeks, including a college coaching program and specialized coaching for employees with teenage children.
Microsoft
Microsoft is participating in a Bright Horizons arrangement similar to Accenture’s, offering “school-day supervision” to children of employees who are learning remotely.
Palo Alto Networks
Cybersecurity company Palo Alto Networks will provide $1,000 per year per employee that can be put toward benefits including health—like a gym membership—and education; those education benefits include tutoring assistance. The company has also introduced on-demand learning for employees.
Progress
Software company Progress has begun offering virtual events for families including a summer baking challenge inspired by the Netflix series Nailed It, art classes, virtual paint night, a “bring your kids to work” events.
Salesforce
Tech giant Salesforce has added six additional weeks of available time off for employees who are parents. The company has also clarified that parents will be able to work remotely past the August 2021 date currently pegged for the workforce’s return to the office is children’s schools remain closed.
ShipStation
Shipping software startup ShipStation specialized its virtual wellness series to focus on back to school, bringing in nutritionists to provide tips on healthy lunches and snacks alongside wellness experts leading webinars for parents about stress management.
SitterStream
SitterStream is a new startup providing 30- to 90-minute virtual babysitting and tutoring sessions. The companies Amazon, Alnylam, Sarepta, and Unum have signed on to offer SitterStream services to their employees, the startup says.
Synchrony
This summer, consumer financial services company Synchrony introduced Synchrony summer camps, virtual summer camp experiences for 3,700 children of employees.
This fall, the company is expanding that concept to “Synchrony after school,” similar virtual after-school programs for children, including homework help and extracurricular activities.
Wyzant
The tutoring marketplace Wyzant launched Wyzant for Business, an corporate benefit package allowing companies to subsidize at-home learning—for children or adults—for their employees.

Should I Send My Child to Daycare for Their Social Development?
  Written by Marlene Alcon Kepka
@AlconKepka
| 9 MIN READ |
Social skills are very important for your child’s development. Daycares give that to your child. But so do other options that might suite your family better. Play groups, parks, friends, camps, etc. All great ways to be social.
A daycare can save you a lot of time and the best childcare centres focus on social development so your child gets a great head start.
They are well trained and know how to help your child be socially active with their peers.
My points in this article are about putting your child into daycare for the social development not about daycare in general.
If you need childcare then you need it, simple. But what if you don’t NEED it but want to put your child in for he social aspect?
Either way, being social is important for all ages and not just the early years. Let’s dig in and see how important it is.
via GIPHY
I’m Super Social… Get Off My Lawn!!!!
I’m sure that more than one of you reading this got your job, found your significant other or had a great time by using your social skills. We’ve all been there.
That right person you know that got your resume to the top of the pile. They got you a job and maybe kick started your entire career. Wouldn’t have happened without social development.
Maybe you’re married or have an amazing significant other. That wasn’t luck or serendipity… well maybe a little. It was you being social. Your socially developed skills got the love of your life.
It can be argued that sales make a lot of money and take little formal education. I know I used to be a real estate agent in another life. The more social you are the more money you can make.
Check out this amazing article in the Harvard Business Review on how the more technology we acquire the more social skills are important.
For you guys out there that are busy…is that all of us? It pretty much says that all job growth since the 80’s has been social skill-intensive.
They also mention that as jobs get more automated by robots and software. Jobs with high social skills will be in more demand and hard to automate. Simply put the more social you are the more job security you will have…. And your child will have as an adult.
Let children play on your lawn! Its good for them and it’s good for you.
Is Daycare the Best Option?
It can be. Daycare in Calgary can be expensive as it can be in any city. This is a question of economic means. Not everyone can afford a high quality daycare.
I’ll touch on what options parents have that don’t have the funds to get their child into daycare. A nanny can be very expensive, and I would argue the least social. But to each their own.
For now let’s discuss all the benefits of a great daycare program. Let’s take our program, 2000 Days Pre-Kidnergarten. I try so hard to have the highest quality program I can create with my staff. We understand the value of social development.
My team strives to have children “get out of their shell”, interact and enjoy spending time with their peers. My childcare workers are trained and know how to interact with children as a guide.
What I mean by this is that in our daycare the teachers guide the children to activities and proper social behavior. They don’t interfere.
Part of being social is interacting with others (could say it’s the main thing). Your child will bite or kick or hit someone with a plastic dinosaur.
via GIPHY
It’s inevitable. How you or your child care worker handle this is important. In these early years the wrong reaction can have dire affects on your child later in life.
Knowing your child is in a daycare that handles your child’s negative social behavior is very important. My childcare centre never punishes children.
We use empathy and sympathy to help children understand how their actions hurt others and make them feel.
We also encourage children to interact and make friends. Many of the children from my program become friends for many years after. My teachers use programming and tools to help children become more social to make more friends.
A daycare has a lot of positives for social interaction. Another main one is the size. Daycares like mine have 80 children on a typical day. Our classrooms have between 10-20 children.
These are perfect sized classes to make friends.
Plus, the day to day is consistent. The children that come to our childcare facility are the same ones daily. Your child gets to create true bonds with their peers.
If you can afford a daycare in Calgary then I would say its your best bet for a very well adjust, social child. You have professionals working with your child daily to get the most out of them.
Being a parent, teaching your child to socialize and working a full-time job can be a bit much. But there are alternatives if you don’t want to send your child to daycare or if you can’t swing the cost.

Alternatives to a Daycare For Social Development
You don’t want to send your child to a daycare. Or maybe your financial circumstances don’t allow for it. A nanny is out of the question for you.
What can you do to get a well-adjusted social child? A lot actually.
The first thing I would do is read this. Great article from lifehack.org about 12 ways to improve sociability. It’s not focused on children but you can easily adapt them to your child and still get a lot of good from it.
Next you need to find play groups. Consistent ones that have the same children in it on a weekly basis at the minimum. Twice a week is much better.
Remember children have a short memory. They need reinforcement with friends to create social bonds.
You can find groups on Meetup.com or your local community website. If you’re not in Calgary or a big town then post things on local bulletin boards for play groups.
Facebook groups work. Even just standing around a local park and talking to her parents. Bottom line there are a lot of ways to get your child social.
Once your child is in social groups and gets consistent social interaction you need to apply some of those life hacks to them.
You need to model how to be social. Say hello to people. Be the first to strike up a conversation.
Show them how you call friends to make play dates and get togethers. You need to model to your child what being social is and what being a good friend is.
Your child is a sponge and soaks up a lot of the social queues you put up. Make them positive!
There is the opposite of that and you as the parent need to show your child what negative social behavior is. Bullying, hitting, not caring about friends are all negative social behaviors. You need to put in effort on this front and model again.
I mentioned modelling a lot. That’s because children watch you a lot. More than you think. They copy your mannerisms and social queues.
The more socially positive you are the more your child will be. I can’t stress this enough.
Yes, it’s a lot of work. That’s why if you can get your child into a daycare you should. It takes a lot of the stress and work off you.
But I get it; not everyone can. You will have to put in the heavy lifting to get a well-rounded and social child.
I can say for sure that if you do this it will pay off for you and your child.
via GIPHY
To Daycare or not to Daycare?
The final verdict for if you should put your child into daycare for just the social aspects is….
It depends.
Like most questions about children it all depends. After working with children for 20+ years I can say that a childcare center will be very beneficial for your child’s social development. The routine of seeing the same children daily is huge.
Teachers that are trained to guide your child into healthy social behavior can’t be understated. Having larger groups of 8-18 children is also a benefit as social scenarios will come up and your child will have to navigate that.
Many daycares in Calgary document your little ones day. We do with Himama. It’s a great program that tells you what your child ate, how long they slept and any behaviors that are amazing or concerning.
That alone will help you guide your child in their social development.
Now the depends part. If you can’t afford daycare then I wouldn’t sacrifice quality of life for it.
As mentioned before there are still things you can do to get a well-rounded, socially adjusted child. My biggest concern is the time.
It takes a lot of time to get it right. Parents that work barely have time for themselves so might not have the adequate time to teach their child on how to be social.
Plus getting your child into larger groups consistently can also be a challenge.
But the fact that you’re reading this article shows you’re a caring parent that loves their child. Or you wouldn’t be searching out articles on how to make them a better and more successful person.
Daycare is a great option for social development in little ones and I highly recommend it. I know I own a daycare so I’m biased.
But even if I didn’t, I have worked with children long enough to see amazing results in their social skills.
Do you think childcare centres offer a bit more umph when it comes to social development?

400+ Business Ideas to Start Your Own Business
Looking for businesss ideas? Wondering what kind of business you could start? You're not alone!
According to US Census and SBA statistics, hundreds of thousands of businesses are launched each year. What the statistics don't indicate are all the men and women - just like you - who want to start their own part-time or full-time business, but just don't know what kind of business to start. That's why I put together the list of business startup ideas below along with a few tips to help you focus on what would be the best type of business to start for you, personally.
Do you want to start your own business, but aren't sure what kind of business to start? Maybe you've been laid off and haven't been able to find a new job. Or you're tired of working for a boss who makes every workday stressful. Perhaps you are convinced you can make more on your own than you can working for someone else -- or you just want to bring in a little extra money to pay for a few luxuries in life. Or, perhaps your family really needs two incomes but you don't want your kids to be latchkey kids.

Whatever your reason for wanting to start your own business, running the show can be personally and financially rewarding--if you come up with the right business idea.

What kind of business idea is the RIGHT idea? The answer is as individual as you are. But in general, to be a good fit, and have a chance to be profitable, the business you select should meet these criteria:
  * It is something you know how to do and can do well.
* It is something you LIKE to do and wouldn't mind doing day after day.
* It is something with a broad enough appeal to sell on a steady basis.
* It can be sold at a price that will cover all of your expenses and overhead plus return a healthy profit.
* You have or can raise sufficient funds to get the business started and keep it running until it becomes a profitable venture.

If you haven't yet found your entrepreneurial niche, perhaps you'll spot one or more ideas that sound promising (based on the criteria just mentioned) in the list below. Some can be started as home-based business, others really can't. Some require you to be an expert in a particular task or industry. Others are in fields that can more easily be learned.
Many can be turned into full-time businesses, but some are ideal primarily for moonlighting or as add-on income streams in an existing business. All are viable ways to make money, if you know the business and become good at marketing.
The list below is not all-inclusive. There are many, many other ways to start a business. (If you know of anything you think we should add to our list use our site feedback form to let us know.)

In any case, your child gained’t keep small perpetually. At some point, she or he will go to grade faculty, play sports activities, and make mates. And earlier than you understand it, they’ll fly the coop to attend faculty and construct a lifetime of their very own.
Till that day comes, it’s as much as you to make the best selections so you possibly can present for your loved ones. Even when which means planning for easy methods to shield them financially within the occasion you had been not round. Right here’s what you must learn about life insurance coverage for brand new dad and mom.
Shopping for life insurance coverage as a brand new mother or father
Whereas shopping for life insurance coverage may really feel overwhelming, it’s actually not. Or, not less than, it doesn’t must be overwhelming. The method has seen some fairly important enhancements and streamlining lately. For instance, with Haven Life, you may fill out an software fully on-line in minutes and obtain an immediate choice on time period life insurance coverage protection. This could come as very welcome information to oldsters, who by nature are busy (placing it mildly). Eradicating the ready and confusion from life insurance coverage means you now have even fewer causes to place off buying a really needed product.
However earlier than you make the leap on a coverage of your personal, there are particular issues you must take into account when deciding on a correct life insurance coverage protection quantity.
Youngsters are costly to boost
The prices of elevating one little one to 18 years outdated for a middle-income household is $233,610, in response to estimates by the U.S. Division of Agriculture. This quantity considers fundamentals like housing, meals, training, and daycare, together with the truth that child-rearing bills are inclined to rise with age. Be mindful, that quantity can range drastically relying on the place you reside and the way frugal or not your life-style is.
Ask your self this easy query: may your partner or associate deal with all the child-related bills in case you had been immediately gone tomorrow? For most individuals, the reply isn’t any.
That is the place life insurance coverage protection turns into so necessary. It could assist guarantee your associate can financially look after the youngsters in case you had been not round. In change to your month-to-month premiums for a time period life insurance coverage coverage, the life insurance coverage firm pays out a dying profit (within the quantity of the life insurance coverage protection you bought) that your beneficiary or beneficiaries can use to assist cowl their bills.
However peace of thoughts is maybe crucial intangible profit related to buying a life insurance coverage coverage. It offers you the reassurance that you just’re forsaking monetary safety to your family members. The beneficiary (or beneficiaries) can use the coverage’s dying profit to assist pay for funeral prices, meet day-to-day residing bills or plan for the long run.
In fact, calculating all of the bills related to elevating youngsters to find out how a lot time period life insurance coverage protection you want could be difficult. You need to use a life insurance coverage calculator that will help you type via all the prices related to your loved ones’s future to offer you an estimate of ample protection.
Don’t neglect about faculty
We already talked about how costly elevating a toddler to the age of 18 could be. However, the day by day prices of meals and shelter don’t all the time finish when your little one leaves highschool.
When you plan to pay to your little one’s increased training, then you must think about the price of faculty while you purchase life insurance coverage. (The aforementioned life insurance coverage calculator does this, too, by the best way.)
For the 2018-2019 faculty yr, common tuition, charges, room and board at a public, in-state college was $21,370, in response to the Faculty Board. With sufficient life insurance coverage protection, you may assist your children pay tuition and keep away from the stifling ranges of pupil debt so lots of right this moment’s younger adults face.
Keep-at-home dad and mom are very precious
Many assume a life insurance coverage coverage for a stay-at-home-parent isn’t wanted as a result of they don’t earn a “wage.” This isn’t the case.
Keep-at-home mothers and dads could not usher in a paycheck, however take into account all they do for the family. Most stay-at-home dad and mom shuttle children round, cook dinner and clear, assist children with homework, do laundry and dishes, and make most meals for the household – and that’s simply the naked minimal.
When you add up a stay-at-home mother or father’s obligations, they might make about $162,581 for the 92 hours of labor they do every week, in response to an annual survey from Wage.com.
It’s crucial that you just take into account how/if the surviving partner may afford to take care of all of that work. Typically, which means paying for daycare and family assist. Whereas dad and mom are irreplaceable, the proceeds of a life insurance coverage coverage can be utilized to assist bridge the monetary hole and pay for such a assist.
Employer-provided life insurance coverage normally isn’t sufficient
Employer-provided life insurance coverage, generally known as group life insurance coverage, is a good work perk. Nevertheless, it could possibly go away dad and mom underinsured and doubtlessly with out protection after they change jobs.
Most employer-provided insurance policies solely provide protection that’s 1 or 2 instances your annual wage. You may normally buy extra protection in order for you, but it surely’s at a “group price.” This implies you usually don’t profit from the charges you’d get as a younger, wholesome new mother or father such as you would with a person life insurance coverage coverage.
Moreover, life insurance coverage ought to go the place you go. Many employer-provided insurance policies aren’t moveable, and if in case you have that possibility, it’ll value you extra.
Your finest wager is to get a person life insurance coverage coverage whilst you’re younger and wholesome. Many individuals begin by contemplating life insurance coverage protection of 5 to 10 instances their annual revenue.Revisit your life insurance coverage as your life-style adjustments.
As a brand new mother or father, there should be many unknowns in your future and total incomes potential and bills. Maybe you’re simply getting began in a brand new profession – or possibly you intend to move again to highschool to earn a complicated diploma. Possibly you’re renting a house however plan to purchase quickly.
