DAD!YOONGI who banish the monsters from your child's room. under the bed, inside the wardrobe or behind the curtain, Yoongi searched intensely around your kid's room looking for some monster that wanted to eat them while they slept; with a flashlight in his hand, cap pulled back and a badge your kid gave him saying “monsters out”, Yoongi made a point of going through every corner of the room, shouting at the monster behind the curtain and fighting with the one in the closet, and always leaving the room free of monsters. “don’t worry, little Min. the monster detective is going to search your room and kick all the greenies out.”
DAD!YOONGI who played basketball with your child on lazy sunday afternoons. Yoongi taught your child everything: how to shoot, how to do a trick, how to jump, all the basics were explored and memorized by your little kid; so, every sunday, Yoongi threw himself on the ground, threw the ball above the basket, ran slowly, all that just so he could hear the sweet laugh of the one he loved most. “mister referee, it was a foul! little Min threw me to the ground. they are evil!”
DAD!YOONGI who picks strawberries and pumpkins with your child. when the season invited him so excitedly to spend an afternoon digging in the dirt with his little child, Yoongi couldn't say no; since they were little, your kid went with Yoongi to greenhouses and farms, always choosing the biggest strawberries and the roundest pumpkins and arriving at home almost as dirty as their father. “when we get home, we’ll ask your dami to make strawberry jam for you to eat with your toast.”
DAD!YOONGI who lets his child play with his hair. it was already customary for Yoongi to sit on the floor and let his child's little hands create small hairstyles that had little precision and beauty; full of hair clips or pigtails, pulled back or with gel creating mountains, Yoongi never said no, even making suggestions, always laughing when you showed up with the camera ready to record those moments forever. “admit it. our baby made me the best hairstyle in the world. i’m going to use it on the next tour, what do you think?”
DAD!YOONGI who has your child's drawings in his studio. one of the walls of Yoongi's studio was like a gallery for your kid's most colorful and creative drawings; your family portrayed in a rainbow, Yoongi singing on the moon, you collecting shells on a beach, the drawings were immense, every one carrying a memory with them, always making Yoongi more relaxed every time his work became more frustrating. “is it me and your dami holding hands under that big heart? but where are you? our heart is only full with you between us.”
DAD!YOONGI who takes your child to lunch at their favorite fast food restaurant every now and then. hand in hand with your kid, Yoongi entered the restaurant with a very wide smile, already knowing what your child's order was, always asking for an extra one to give you at work so the three of you could eat as a family. “let’s do a surprise to your dami and show up at work so all of us can have lunch together?”
DAD!YOONGI who writes a new song for every birthday of your child and compiles it into an album to give to them when they turn 18. Yoongi only told you; every night on your baby's birthday, Yoongi would lean against you in bed, his head would rest gently on your chest as your hand repeatedly ran through Yoongi's silky hair and, wrapped in that love that he knew was eternal, Yoongi would focus in a new song for your child, always asking your opinion or suggestions. “i hope that when i give them the album, our angel realizes how much they mean to me and i hope they know i will always love them unconditionally.”

So I had a thought, and your writing would capture this best in my opinion: Phantom coming back to the abbey, finding Aether, and proceeds to have the most Ghoultism conversation about his first tour and what he experienced. And he’s such a little cutie that he doesn’t stop him.
im sorry it took me ages whaaaaa :(
but im here! and thank you for considering me the best man for the job, hope i don't dissapoint hahahah
some ghautistic phantom rambles under the cut :)
Aether didn't exactly know what saying 'tell me everything' to Phantom would mean for him. He didn't expect him to literally tell him everything. He did feel a bit like complaining, at first, he had better things to do. Not to say he didn't absolutely adore Phantom or that he was ignorant or selfish. Not at all, quite the opposite. Aether just really had a lot of work.
But Phantom was so adorable, he was so excited to tell the older ghoul all the stories from tour. Aether couldn't just stop him, could he?
"People were throwing us so many plushies, there's so many on the bus and everyone has some for themselves and I even got a few bats!" Phantom ranted so fast he was nearly out of breath. "I love bats so much, Aether, how did they even know!?"
"I have no idea, kid, but I'm happy you got some gifts from the fans," he chuckled. Phantom was too adorable for his own good.
"They know our names too! And they gave us so many different things, a lot of bracelets with our names, flowers and I even got a letter! A LETTER, Aeth, just for me!" he beamed.
"I saw you also got some flags thrown onto the stage, yeah?" Aether prompted. He should've probably bite his tongue if he wanted to leave the common room in the next 24 hours but Phantom was just too cute.
"YEAH! There were those rainbow ones and the other colorful one, you taught me about them when I was first summoned. The colorful one is for the whole community some humans are in, right? When they don't really fuck with everyone, just specific people?"
"Something like that," Aether giggled. It was one way to put it, especially with how Phantom perceived things Topside.
"The other one was the blue, white and pink and I think that's the one people use when their junk doesn't match their head? Like Dew and Sunny, they'd be them too if they were humans, yeah?"
"Yes, kid, it's called being transgender, for humans."
"Yes! People were so happy when we picked them up, Swiss too, I think it meant a lot to them. I think a lot of our fans are colorful humans, don't you think?" Phantom asked and actually paused for a second. Not a rhetorical question, then.
"I don't just think so, I know it. I used to check the internet a lot, the thing on your phone that you don't like. They say a lot of nice stuff about us all there, and yes, a lot of them are colorful, as you called it."
"'m happy I could make them feel... seen, then, you know? Swiss told me once their lives aren't really easy. That's sad," he pouted as he picked on a loose thread on his pant leg.
"That's true. But there's no reason for you to get sad now, kid. Tell me more, what else happened?" Phantom was not only a cutie, he was also really sensitive and Aether would much rather spend hours listening to his excited rambles than his sobbing.
"Oh, we visited so many fun places! The girls took a lot of pictures, they should show you! World is so big and there's so many different things in it, it was so exciting, Aether!"
"Oh, believe me, I know. Terzo loved travelling, when we toured with him there was no way to sneak out of a mandatory sightseeing in every city we got to. It was more tiring than playing itself. Mountain always ended up with Dew half asleep on his back on our way back to the hotel or a bus," it was true, the only thing that could've saved them from Terzo's traveling hunger was him himself being dead exhausted. Didn't happen often.
"Must've been fun! But yeah all of that was really tiring, we all napped when we could, even if for a moment. It's good you taught me all the basics of quintessence, I was helping everyone with their pains and when Dew couldn't sleep!"
"I'm proud of you, kid. I'm glad you liked touring and had so much fun," Aether sighed. He really was, even if he missed it already himself.
"Oh, and one time..."

(A lot of life things have been happening lately that has left my mind in a dizzying spiral. So here is a soft short piece mainly focusing on Luxe, just before the main protagonist shows up. ^-^ )
Bubbles in the glossy sheen of transparent rainbows froth and roll in gentle sweeping mountains. A few free floating spheres shimmering daintily in midair. A dusty purple clawed hand reaching up to gently balance one on the tip of their finger.
Luxe stares at the glassy sphere of prismatic colors, bringing their hand to their lips to softly blow on the fragile sliver of soap.
They watch it bob up back into the air, giving a little twirl before it pops out of existence. They lean back into the froth and frown to themselves. Their spaded tail curling back and forth on the floor underneath the clawed feet of the bath.
They snap their fingers, and with a shuddering shuffle, the white wallpaper and plain objects in the room change color to a pale baby blue.
They survey the room and scowl, throwing their head back on the head rest of the bath. Tail flicking with sudden agitation.
“No. . . not even redecorating will make me feel better.” They shift, letting their body sink deeper into the water, as their face becomes wreathed by silky bubbles.
“Tragedy. . . A human is to be influtrating our walls within only a few hours time. . . I need to figure out how to get rid of them, before chaos ensues.”
“S-surely you aren’t serious,” Eyes closed, a previous conversation and image fills the concubus’ mind.
“Of course I am,” A cool voice intones, a soft chuckle on the very edges, “In fact, I think this shall be very good for all of us.”
Luxe had smoothed out their expression, taking a polite bow. “. . . Very well then, my liege,” They glance up at the large lounging figure. “Then. . . shall you allow me to test them? And make sure their intentions are true?”
The jingle of beaded jewelry sounded with a shake of the head. A clear no.
“I’m afraid that would scare this particular one away. We must try our best to make them comfortable.”
Turquoise eyes flutter open, staring at the ceiling with gentle floating bubbles.
“Scare them away. . .” Luxe murmurs softly, “That wasn’t what I had in mind to be honest. . . I was thinking more on the idea of putting them into an unending bind of pleasure. . . surely that would keep them busy enough that they wouldn’t cause any disturbances. Perhaps ruin a few sheets but. . . At least they would be distracted.”
Luxe pouts as they think about it more, “Well, I thought it was a good idea.” They blink, eyes shifting to a little bell that sits beside the tub on an elegant side table. The crystalline gently begins to tremble, then slowly raises up from the table, pulled up by an invisible sting. the bell swinging back and forth with a dainty tinkle.
“The show goes on I suppose.” They slowly rise out of the water, pulling a lilac towel to them and stepping down onto a fluffy rug.
With a snap of their fingers their hair is dried and they shrug on their uniform. Giving one longing look back at the bubble bath that is now left abandoned and draining.
Waiting at the entrance to introduce the resident and give them a tour of the castle. They squint and open up a pocket watch, “. . . Fashionably late are we. . .” They murmur to themselves under their breath.
“I’m sorry!” A breathy voice makes the concubus look up from their watch, taken aback at the figure that is quick to run and join them. Huffing in big gulps of air.
“I was— I had— Wanted to— First impression!”
Luxe scrunches their nose and tilts their head, trying to make sense of what had just been said. “I. . . Beg your pardon?”
The figure hangs their head and thrusts out their hands, a basket clutched tightly in their hands.
“I wanted to bring a gift! I wasn’t sure what to get— So—”
“Just breath dear, rest a moment,”
“Th-Thanks-”
The concubus takes the basket as the figure puts a hand to their heart, and breathes deeply.
“Okay— whew! What I was trying to say— I’m sorry I’m late, I wanted to stop by the market and bring something as a thank you but ah. . . I got delayed in choosing what to bring.”
Luxe’s eyebrow raises, a finger tip raising the basket lid to reveal a container filled to the brim with pastries. They blink, once again taken aback.
“I uh. . . brought. . . a little bit of everything?”
They couldn’t be all poisoned, could they? That would be a lot of work. . .
Luxe smiles gently, and lets the lid fall. “Very well then. I shall be sure to let the staff know you have brought a gift with you.”
They stare at the bright and hopeful expression the human was giving them, before suddenly turning shy and shuffling their feet.
“I ah— know it’s not much, but I hope they like it.”
Luxe eyes flicker to the basket again. Not much. . . ? Was it customary to give such grandiose presents? Did this pale in comparison to what they had intended to bring?
Luxe found themselves saying, “I am sure they will enjoy them immensely, usually we are not able to enjoy human sweets.”
Another bright and hopeful expression, “I. . . I could go and get more. . . if you’d like! It’s on the way here!”
Luxe gives an amused huff, “I. . . don’t think that’s necessary dear, you will be staying here from now on. I heard it is quite a walk to the nearest town.”
The human flusters and rubs the back of their neck in embarrassment, Luxe’s eyes crinkle at the reaction.
Judging by the reaction. . . it looks like they are easily flustered. . . Perhaps they can dissuade the human before they are even let inside.
A mischievous smile crosses their face, smoothing their hand up their collar.
“You hadn’t been told this?”
Luxe reaches out to box in the human, leaning closer. The large basket sandwiched between them.
“Why of course dear. . . this is your home now, but of course. . . if you happen to feel lonely I—“
In a reaction that shocks both of them, the human’s hands had reached to hold onto the other side of the basket, one hand reaching into it, taking out a pastry. Intending to give it to them as a peace offering, this action offshoots and boops Luxe in the nose with the treat, causing the concubus’ eyes to widen and flicker, two small hearts forming in their eyes. Luxe stares confounded at the human, who peeks up to look back at them.
The human, judging by their expression, had realized they had just smashed a pastry into the face of someone above them looks utterly horrified.
Luxe’s expression wobbles, their attempt to shake the quirky creature had been thrown out the window. The demon laughs, and loudly, leaning back to wipe apple jelly from their nose and mouth as the human dithers and raises the basket in defense.
“I-I- I AM SO SORRY—“
“No, no, I apologize. That was profoundly unprofessional of me.” They turn elegantly on their heels, turning to push open the door. “Let me redeem myself by showing you around.”
Luxe’s tail trailed behind them, the very tip of the tail brushing against the human's thigh. They keep their eyes forward, a very faint blush lining their cheeks.
Luxe stands in front of their vanity mirror, hands resting on the edge of the table. After showing the human around, they had given them a room on the main floor and had retired themselves to their own.
Luxe stared into the tiny dark hearts in their reflected eyes.
“Well. . . it’s been a while since this has happened.” They huff, and lean closer to scrutinize their reflection. “A silly creature is cute, yes, but that may just be a ruse. I will. . . have to keep a close eye on them. . .”
And kept a close eye, they did.

CAGE THE ELEPHANT’S NEW ALBUM, 'NEON PILL,' OUT NOW VIA RCA RECORDS
Tumblr media
Today, Cage The Elephant, the GRAMMY® Award winning rock band release Neon Pill, their 6th studio album. Neon Pill finds the Kentucky-bred six piece—brothers Matthew Shultz [vocals] and Brad Shultz [guitar], Daniel Tichenor [bass], Jared Champion [drums], Nick Bockrath [lead guitar], and Matthan Minster [guitar, keys, backing vocals]— forging new musical ground, while maintaining their uncompromising creativity and wildly cathartic performances. “To me, Neon Pill is the first record where we were consistently uninfluenced, and I mean that in a positive way,” observes Matthew. “Everything is undoubtedly expressed through having settled into finding our own voice. We’ve always drawn inspiration from artists we love, and at times we’ve even emulated some of them to a certain degree. With this album, having gone through so much, life had almost forced us into becoming more and more comfortable with ourselves. We weren’t reaching for much outside of the pure experience of self expression, and simultaneously not necessarily settling either. We just found a uniqueness in simply existing.”
Rolling Stone spoke with lead singer Matthew Shultz about the new album and upcoming tour and say the new music “sounds like a rich and matured version of Cage the Elephant.” Read the full interview here. The band also recently returned to Jimmy Kimmel Live! to perform the world debut of their song “Rainbow.”
youtube
The band recently shared “Metaverse,” the latest single off Neon Pill, which follows recent singles from the new album including “Good Time,” “Out Loud” and “Neon Pill,” which scored the band their 11th #1 song on Billboard’s Alternative Chart.
Cage The Elephant’s 47-date North American US tour, produced by Live Nation, will kick off on June 20 in Salt Lake City with shows in cities including Seattle, Vancouver, Los Angeles, Chicago, Toronto and New York City (full dates below), with support from Young The Giant & Bakar on most dates.  Tickets and VIP available for all dates are on sale now here.
On Monday, May 6, iHeartMedia hosted the iHeartRadio Album Release Party with Cage the Elephant in celebration of the new album Neon Pill. The show will broadcast across iHeartRadio Alternative Stations nationwide on May 20 at 8 p.m. local time and in VR on Meta Horizon Worlds at 8 p.m. ET/ 5 p.m. PT.
From their humble beginnings in Bowling Green, Kentucky, Cage The Elephant have gone on to become one of the generation’s premier rock bands. They have earned dozens of Gold, Platinum, and Multiplatinum certifications, tallied over 5 billion streams, and notched eleven #1 records on Alternative Radio and 5 #1 records on Triple A Radio. Their previous two albums Tell Me I’m Pretty [2015] and Social Cues [2019] garnered consecutive Best Rock Album GRAMMY® Awards. They are maybe most celebrated for their live show. The stage is their home turf, where they are most comfortable, and their performances, ecstatic and unchained, as well as cathartic and soul bearing are what Neon Pill achieves in documenting.    Neon Pill, produced by John Hill, materialized during sessions at Sonic Ranch in El Paso, Electric Lady in New York, Sound Emporium in Nashville, Echo Mountain in North Carolina, and at Hill’s own studio in Los Angeles, and alchemized a season of tragedy and turbulence into the twelve tracks on their sixth full-length album. Nine months into the pandemic, Matthew and Brad lost their father. The band weathered the back-to-back deaths of friends, while Matthew experience depression and a mental breakdown, culminating in hospitalization. Coming out on the other side, he learned quite a bit about himself, and gained a whole lot of strength and wisdom. Neon Pill came to life in the eye of the storm.

South Africa, affectionately known as the Rainbow Nation, is a country that boasts an incredible diversity of cultures, landscapes, and experiences. It's a destination that appeals to all types of travelers, from those seeking adventure in the wild African bush to those who prefer the sophisticated charm of its cities. With such a vast array of attractions, choosing the right South Africa tour packages can be the key to unlocking the very best this country has to offer. In this article, we explore the top South Africa tour packages that promise to deliver an unforgettable journey through this vibrant nation.
1. The Safari Experience
No visit to South Africa is complete without experiencing its world-famous safaris. South Africa tour packages that include visits to the Kruger National Park offer an unparalleled wildlife viewing experience. Here, you can come face-to-face with the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and Cape buffalo) in their natural habitat. These packages often include stays in luxury lodges, guided game drives at dawn and dusk, and even walking safaris for the more adventurous.
2. The Garden Route
For those who love scenic drives and outdoor activities, the Garden Route is a must-include in your South Africa tour packages. Stretching from Mossel Bay in the Western Cape to the Storms River in the Eastern Cape, this route offers stunning coastal views, dense forests, and serene beaches. Tour packages focusing on the Garden Route can include stops at key attractions like the Tsitsikamma National Park, Knysna, and Plettenberg Bay, with opportunities for hiking, bungee jumping, and whale watching.

Cape Town, with its iconic Table Mountain, vibrant waterfront, and rich history, is often the starting point of many South Africa tour packages. Exploring the Cape Peninsula, with visits to the Cape of Good Hope and the penguin colonies at Boulders Beach, provides a mix of natural beauty and wildlife. These packages might also include wine tasting tours in the Cape Winelands, exploring the historical Robben Island, and enjoying the city's renowned culinary scene.

2023 Year End List - #15
Tumblr media
The Love Invention - Alison Goldfrapp
Main genres: House, Dance Pop
A decent sampling of: Tech House, Future House, Synth Pop, Nu-Disco, Italo-Disco, Synthwave
Alison Goldfrapp is seriously one of my favourite vocalists ever.
Her trademark soft, airy coos remind me of the ephemeral beauty of life, while her restrained, seductive sighs are reminiscent of the immaculate Dionysian pleasures of the sensory world. And of course there's the occasion that she treats us to her operatic feats of fantastic proportions.
Having already formed one half of what is in my opinion the best duo in alternative electronic music history, making music together with her collaborator Will Gregory for roughly 20 years, and releasing not one but two stunning masterpieces of the noughties that set the gold standard for genres like downtempo and folktronica, it appears that Alison finally decided to set out on a new chapter in her life. And having done all that, I would like to think that anyone would have more than earned the right to do so.
When I heard there was going to be a new Alison Goldfrapp solo project in 2023, naturally I got super hyped, but I also didn't know exactly what to expect.
As a duo, Goldfrapp have been a modest sort of musical chameleons. Nearly always some flavour of electronic and indie/alternative, but regularly exploring the polar opposite ends of both these worlds. They are just as likely to embrace dark surrealism as they are to go full on retro kitsch.
But across multiple projects, its been clear for a while that Alison Goldfrapp has a particular love and affinity for spunky electronic dance music. So i guess in the end I wasn't all too surprised that her new record would end up sounding something like this.
The Love Invention is an effervescent house record full of mechanical muscle and propulsion. Alison Goldfrapp conveys unbridled euphoria at nearly every turn of this record, with flashy light show electronics constructed in part by enlisting co-producers James Greenwood, Toby Scott, and Richard X most famously known for his work with Norwegian pop star Annie. The moon mist ice cream colour palette of the album cover is not an overstatement of its contents by any means; this is a rainbow explosion.
For those of you keeping score at home, I would rank this somewhere firmly in the middle among Goldfrapp's records as a duo. That is to say, better than Supernature and Silver Eye, roughly on par with Black Cherry, and a tier or two below Felt Mountain, Seventh Tree, Head First, and Tales of Us. A B-Tier Alison Goldfrapp project, if you will, which is still a big compliment cause it's Alison Fucking Goldfrapp.
"Digging Deeper Now" is all tech-y and hyper-utopian, sitting atop a crystalline pyramid of interconnected synths that all seem to be building towards something greater. Music for reaching an elevated mindset on the dancefloor.
"Fever (This is the Real Thing)" is a thrilling future house tour-de-force, like floating in the middle of a rapidly flowing tunnel made up of glowing bands of metallic light. It pounds everything in its path into a fine glitter dust that coats the ears. When I mentioned 'effervescent' earlier, THIS is the track I was mostly referring to. Alison also really knows how to carry the hook on this one to make it sound like the most important defining thing ever.
The album briefly winds down as Alison ventures into a world of heavenly trap production on "Subterfuge". It sounds crazy on paper, and probably shouldn't work as well as it does, but I honestly love the sound design and her vocals blends seamlessly with this style. A lavish dip into silky dream pools.
"So Hard So Hot" takes the formation of stars through the intense density and heat of nuclear fusion, and turns it into a dancefloor banger of rippling synths that rain down onto the earth with the spectacular brilliance of a meteor shower. Those synths are one serious hell of an earworm. Could definitely do with a ten minute version of this track.
Like a lot of house records, it definitely has its more nondescript moments. "The Beat Divine" and "Gatto Gelato" have a lot of rhythm and hype that will definitely get my feet moving, but neither has much staying power for me.
But overall this is a very refreshing take on multiple house and EDM subgenres, fusing the best of different scenes into high-charged dancefloor hybrids with pop hooks and Alison Goldfrapp's goddessly vocals.
The Love Invention makes good on its promise of being a vibrant, technicolor sensory overload that will get your feet moving and your ass shaking, with more than enough memorable production quirks giving it some of the highest replay value of any of the EDM I've listened to this year. Another day, another slay for the queen of surreal electronica.
8/10
Highlights: "So Hard, So Hot", "Fever (This Is The Real Thing)", "Digging Deeper Now", "Subterfuge", "In Electric Blue"

While I have other posts in works right now, I figured I would go ahead a make a post on my top 15 favorite singers. I'll also be splitting this list into two posts since Tumblr unfortunately only allows me to put ten images on one post (boooo). This list is specific to the heavy metal/rock genre, so while I enjoy the voices of Loreena McKennitt and Rory Gallagher, I will be excluding them from this list as Rory is a blues artist and Loreena is a folk singer. But enough with all that, on to the post!
1. Sean Harris
Tumblr media
I don't know about you dear reader but I love Diamond Head a lot. This was one of first few bands I listened to when I was discovering the older metal bands as a teen. I grew up with Nu metal and some of the cores, so my only true exposure to the metal bands of old was Iron Maiden, and while I love Dickinson to bits, Diamond head managed to captivate my heart way more. I couldn't believe I hadn't discovered them sooner. I was completely blown away by them, but most importantly, I was completely in love with the voice of their former front man, Sean Harris. The guy has a voice alright, hitting notes I wish I could hit these days (oh how I will always mourn the loss of my voice). While many of their songs are good examples of the might of Sean Harris's voice, the first ones that come to mind are Helpless and It's Electric. I would link them here but unfortunately the versions I personally feel are best are difficult to find on YT, but can be found on my blog if you're interest!
2. Rob Halford
Tumblr media
And it would not be a proper list if I didn't add in Rob Halford. What else can I say that hasn't already been said about this man's incredible voice. He has range and still manages to impress many despite his advanced age. I know I have mentioned this so, so many times before, but I saw Judas Priest live once during their Firepower tour and it was an unforgettable experience. They played "Painkiller" and WoW. I am actively struggling to find words that accurately describes what I experienced that night. I never thought Rob could be capable of still being able to go as high as he did during the end of the song at his age but damn I was wrong and I'm glad of it. I truly never forget it, and while I know 99% of my followers know who Rob is, the songs I feel best represent his vocal capabilities are "Here Come The Tears" and "Painkiller".
3. Ronnie James Dio
Tumblr media
And next up is my favorite Rainbow and Black Sabbath singer Ronnie James Dio (sorry Ozzy). A tiny guy with a big voice, Ronnie first caught my eye, or should I say my ear, when I first heard the song Holy Diver. I thought his voice was so pleasant for a metal singer I was almost questioning why he decided to go into the genre to begin with, but I am extremely glad that he did. His voice was a big factor in Heaven And Hell becoming such an important album to me and I cannot picture any other singer doing that album justice. Hell, I can't see any singer taking his place in anything he's done, and though I do love Rainbow, I will admit I don't bother with anything that doesn't include Ronnie in it simply because the other two do not come close to being as good as he was. Ronnie had something special to his voice that not many singers do, and while I am aware that I am biased, I do believe him to be one of the best there ever was in the genre, and so this list would not be complete without him as he has damn well earned his spot in my heart. My favorite songs of his include "Heaven And Hell", "Temple Of The King", "Sunset Superman", "Lonely Is The World", "Man On The Silver Mountain", and "I".
4. Klaus Meine
Tumblr media
And now for a singer that I don't necessarily consider a metal singer, but he is definitely a rock singer so I am adding him to this list because he truly deserves it, everyone meet Klaus Meine of the band Scorpions. Though a lot of people dislike the way he sings due to his accent showing through, I've never been bothered by it. I actually like hearing his accent in his singing! It gives his voice a unique quality in my opinion! Personally, I don't believe one or two songs can really show off his vocal capabilities, so I would say the albums "Blackout", "Animal Magnetism", and "Love Drive" would be good ones to check out!
5. Joey Belladonna
Tumblr media
Back to the metal singers! This time we have Joey Belladonna of my beloved Anthrax. He too is a singer that is way too good for the music he plays but I'm glad he does so anyway because as much as I love Anthrax with Neil and John, I would probably not love them as much if they had a different singer. I will also say that Joey's voice is still going strong! I haven't gotten the chance to see them live yet, but For All Kings was an enjoyable listen! I do hope to see them one day though! Best songs with him are "Madhouse", "Neon Knights (Black Sabbath cover)", "Medusa", and "Lone Justice"!
6. Till Lindemann
Tumblr media
Next up is one man with a voice to be reckoned with, Till Lindemann. Though I don't post about them as much as I used to, I hold Rammstein very near and dear to me as they pretty much got me out of a, "musical funk" so to speak, and Till's voice had a lot to do with that. I think Rammstein is the first band in which I actually paid more attention to the vocals than I did the instruments in the background. His voice is not what I would describe as generically pretty. Don't get me wrong, it is beautiful, but it's rougher, brutal, and yet it has this soothing quality to it that I haven't found in other singers. It's also impressive to me that he naturally has a voice like that without training. I know, I know, plenty of other singers have a pretty voice without ever needing training, but Till is different to me okay. Favorite songs in his case are "Seeman", "Klavier", "Stein um Stein", and "Reise Reise".
7. Bruce Dickinson
Tumblr media
And of course I am going to put Bruce Dickinson on here. The man's voice is simply too iconic for me to not include him, and as much as I love Paul, his voice does not compare. Bruce's voice has a might that is insane to me and you have no idea how glad I am for that. His training as an opera singer truly paid off because boy oh BOY does man SING. "The Trooper", "Wasting Love" and "Powerslave".
8. Geoff Tate
Tumblr media
Now we have Mr. Geoff Tate of Queensryche! The way I would describe his voice is that it's similar in strength to Rob's. Obviously it doesn't sound the same. Geoff has his sound and Rob has his, but I would argue that the range and strength is very similar. Geoff does have a slightly higher pitched voice than Rob, but overall, he can go into the lower notes when needed. Songs I feel best represent this are "Queen of The Reich", "Is There Anybody Listening", "Night Rider", "Silent Lucidly", and "Another Rainy Night". Truly one of my favorite singers of all time!
9. John McDonald/Midnight
Tumblr media
We now have a man that I hold incredibly, and I mean deeply, dear to me. John McDonald, or better known by his stage name, Midnight, is best known for his work with Crimson Glory. And let me tell you, it did not take long for him to become one of my favorite singers. One listen at Crimson Glory's self titled album was all it took for me to fall in love with the strength and ferocity of that voice of his. Seriously though I cannot recommend that album enough it's so good! Their second and third albums are also major bangers in my honest opinion I love his voice so much!
10. Michael Kiske
Tumblr media
And last but certainly not least (for this post anyway) is Michi, my personal favorite of Helloween's singers. The dude has one of the best voices I have ever heard and AAAAAAA it's so good. He has such a crazy range and powerful, beautiful voice that is suited to what he does and yet it's almost angelic. "A Tale That Wasn't Right", "I Want Out", "Helloween", and "Future World" are personally some of my favorites because they show just how strong that voice of his is! GAH I love it!

So I guess my predictions for Mario Kart 8's last DLC wave (based on datamined information)
Spoilers below cut ⏬
Acorn Cup
Tour Rome Avali
Wii Daisy Circuit
Piranha Plant Pipeline
SNES Bowser Castle 3/SNES Vanilla Lake 2
Spiny Cup
Tour Madrid Drive
GCN DK Mountain/GCN Dino Dino Jungle
Piranha Plant Cove
Wii Rainbow Road/GBA Bowser Castle 4
I kinda have this on an either/or thing- if Daisy Circuit did take the datamined Wii Slot instead of Rainbow Road, then Bowser Castle 4 would be the best track they could finish the DLC on. The Tour Remake of GBA BC 4 is AMAZING so it would be a shame for it not to be included. And obviously if that Bowser Castle gets in then they probably won't do the SNES one so Vanilla Lake 2 is the next best choice from the available options.
However if SNES BC 3 is the final course and there isn't a GBA course in the last wave I'd love to see DS Airship Fortress or 3DS Rosalina's Ice World

Peru: Exploring Cusco City
First on today’s agenda was picking up a SIM card at Plaza de Armas so that I would have access to maps and internet while travelling around Peru. With that set up, I headed back to D’Wasi for a flat white and chicken curry empanada which was an ideal breakfast. I wandered the Cusco streets a little bit and stumbled upon a good supermarket where I bought a few snacks for the Rainbow Mountain tour tomorrow and a choccie milk for now, although when I sat down on a bench to drink it people kept coming over to harass me about buying their stupid mass produced “paintings”. The San Pedro market was one thing - very relaxed without people harassing you, but out on the city streets it’s another story! I walked up some extremely steep streets to San Cristobel church for the ultimate view over Cusco as a few drops of rain started to fall. Of course the best seat right at the top of the stairs was taken by some guy harassing people to book a horse tour. With the storm on the way, I headed for an indoor activity and chose the chocolate museum for some free samples and stayed for a hot chocolate with marshmallows on the balcony as it rained on. My legs were still aching from walking down from Machu Picchu so I took a little break to rest and charge my phone for a while. When I eventually went back out I caught a huge event at Plaza de Armas, there was a band and a bunch of dancers which had drawn in a crowd in front of the cathedrals. Next I was in search of a sweater as a souvenir and found one in the third shop I browsed for 40 soles which seemed reasonable (about $12), I was also looking at the hats she had but didn’t really like any of them that much. She kept offering me one that was okay for 20 soles but I said I’d only pay 10, so 50 for the sweater and the hat. Because I wasn’t really fussed either way I drove a hard bargain and she reluctantly folded the hat into the bag with the sweater and took my 50 soles. I wandered the streets a bit more until I finally felt hungry and went for dinner at Taste of India as I was craving a curry. The tikka masala was made with cottage cheese chunks instead of any meat so I mostly just ate my naan and rice with sauce. Around 7pm I was in bed trying to sleep because my tour was collecting me at 3am although I was a bit restless. Also, the other people in my room were super loud until late so I didn’t get as much sleep as I would’ve liked and at 2.30am my alarm woke me up to start the long day at Rainbow Mountain.

Exploring Everest Base Camp: A Journey of Adventure and Discovery
For adventurers and trekking enthusiasts, Everest Base Camp (EBC) represents the pinnacle of exploration. Offering stunning Himalayan vistas, a connection to Sherpa culture, and the satisfaction of reaching 17,598 feet, EBC is a trekker’s dream come true. But did you know there’s more to the Everest region than just the trail? From awe-inspiring landmarks like the Everest Rainbow Valley to thrilling EBC heli tours, there’s plenty to make this journey unforgettable.
Everest Base Camp: A Trek Worth Taking
The trek to Everest Base Camp is about more than just arriving at the foot of the world’s tallest mountain. Along the way, trekkers experience bustling Sherpa villages, colorful prayer flags fluttering in the wind, and the mesmerizing beauty of the Khumbu Glacier.
The journey begins with a short but exhilarating flight to Lukla. From there, trekkers navigate scenic trails, cross swaying suspension bridges, and ascend through a diverse landscape of forests, rivers, and snowy terrain.
The Enigma of Everest Rainbow Valley
Everest Rainbow Valley is a lesser-known yet poignant part of the Everest region. Located near the summit of Mount Everest, this area is not accessible during an EBC trek but often sparks curiosity among travelers. Its name is derived from the brightly colored jackets and gear of climbers who have perished on the mountain.
While it’s a sobering reminder of Everest’s challenges, the valley is a symbol of the mountain’s raw power and the resilience of those who dare to climb it. If you’re trekking to EBC, learning about places like Rainbow Valley adds depth to the journey and an appreciation for the region's history.
EBC Heli Tours: A Thrilling Alternative
If trekking isn’t for you, or you’re short on time, an Everest Base Camp heli tour offers a breathtaking way to experience the grandeur of the Himalayas. These helicopter rides provide a bird’s-eye view of the Everest region, including iconic landmarks like Kala Patthar and the Khumbu Glacier.
What to Expect from an EBC Heli Tour:
Convenience: A round trip from Kathmandu to Everest Base Camp in just a few hours.
Scenic Views: Panoramic aerial vistas of towering peaks, winding trails, and glacial rivers.
Comfort: A less physically demanding way to explore the region while still capturing its essence.
Heli tours are perfect for travelers seeking a unique perspective or those who can’t commit to the physical demands of trekking.
Planning Your Everest Base Camp Adventure
Whether you’re trekking or taking an EBC heli tour, preparation is key to a successful adventure.
When to Go
The best seasons for Everest Base Camp are pre-monsoon (March to May) and post-monsoon (September to November). These months offer stable weather, clear skies, and comfortable trekking conditions.
Packing Essentials
Clothing: Layers for varying temperatures, waterproof gear, and sturdy trekking boots.
Gear: Trekking poles, a sleeping bag, and a quality backpack.
Extras: A first aid kit, sunscreen, and energy snacks.
Hiring a Guide
A guide or porter can enhance your experience by managing logistics, providing insights about the region, and ensuring safety on the trails.
Travel Insurance
Make sure your policy covers high-altitude trekking or helicopter tours, including emergency evacuation.
Final Thoughts
Everest Base Camp is an adventure that combines physical challenge, cultural exploration, and breathtaking natural beauty. Whether you choose to trek through the rugged trails, marvel at the solemn history of Everest Rainbow Valley, or soar above the peaks on an EBC heli tour, the Everest region offers something for every traveler.
