BIOGRAPHY
okie  so  start  off   jamie  was  a  pure  accident  if  we  gonna  be  honest  here  ..  his  dad  ( dimitri  )  owns  a  string  of  popular  private  country  clubs  within  south  carolina,  north  carolina,  and  georgia  that  have  been  in  his  family  for  a  long  time  with  a  strong  dedicated  membership  and  his  mom  (  johanna  )  who  is  uhhh  ,,  kinda  younger  than  dimitri  by  a  few  years  and  was  working  the  summer  at  one  of  his  country  clubs  in  hilton  head  as  an  events  coordinator  for  kids  when  the  two  met
it  was  kind  of  like  instant  attraction  when  they  met  even  though  his  dad  was  about  32  and  she  was  24  and  u  know  ,,  dimitri  was  engaged  but  anywho  !!!  askew  moral  compass  aside  johanna  tried  to  keep  it  professional  and  bc  u  know  dimitri  was  about  to  be  married  but  eventually  the  two  fell  together  two  months  later  much  to  obvious  dismay  of  dimitri's  fiancée
jamie  adores  his  mom  bc  she’s  a  bit  of  a  free  spirit  who  is  a  bit  of  a  hippie  and  believes  strongly  in  astrology  and  ‘  looks  to  the  stars  for  guidance  ’  kind  of  jazz  and  v  much  a  lives  in  the  moment  type  of  person  ,,  but  she  definitely  fell  in  love  for  the  first  time  when  she  met  dimitri  and  let  him  extend  her  time  position  at  the  country  club  when  they  started  their  affair
his  dad  absolutely  loved  his  mom  and  wanted  to  marry  her  but  he  had  a  family  obligation  to  his  fiancée  and  her  parents  with  his  own  parents  that  he  was  willing  to  risk  but  that  window  of  opportunity  shut  when  it  turns  out  johanna  was  pregnant  with  jamie
so  yeah it's  for  the  best  his  mom  parts  with  his  dad  bc  she  figures  it  wasn’t  their  time  so  she  leaves  the  country  club  and  moves  her  and  jamie  down  to  charleston  where  she  has  family  and  starts  up  her  own  apothecary  business  based  on  botanical  medicines  with  a  wide  range  of  self-made  lines  from  herbal  teas,  bath  &  body  supplies,  medicine  &  aromatherapy
smth  of  which  she  is  v  proud  of  bc  she  put  herself  through  college  for  botanical  medicine  and  saved  up  money  through  odd  jobs  to  open  it  ,  plus  u  know  dimitri  helped  contribute  despite  her  arguments  against  it
ask  jamie  about  his  name  and  he  just  sighs  bc  he  even  asked  his  mom  about  it  once  and  she  just  smth  about  loving  jameson  whiskey  neat  and  that  was  that  on  that  ...  jamie  has  dealt  w  it  and  has  since  grown  an  appreciation  for  whiskey  so  yeehaw
jamie  has  an  odd  relationship  with  his  dad  ...  doesn’t  really  mind  and  is  p  chill  about  the  whole  situation  despite  it  all. his dad  visits  when  he  can  and  especially  on  birthdays  .. pays  more  than  needed  in  child  support  bc  he  isn’t  there  as  much  as  he’d  like  and  adores  jamie
when  jamie  was  about  7  dimitri  opened  a  new  country  club  outside  of  charleston  so  he  had  more  reason  to  come  up  to  visit  despite  his  new  family  being  v  frustrated
PERSONALITY  +  PRESENT:
jamie’s  mom  always  described  him  as  an  unexpected  bundle  of  joy  bc  he  was  always  such  a  giggly  and  calm  baby  and  that  definitely  transfers  well  over  to  his  personality  now  bc  he’s  just  v  laidback  and  doesn’t  take  life  too  seriously  ??  which  his  mom’s  temperament  def  rubbed  off  on  jamie  and  kind  of  floated  through  life  easily
the  best  i  can  describe  it  is  just  ..  serena  van  der  woodsen  from  gossip  girl  ??  bc  jamie  is  overall  a  lovely  person  who’s  incredibly  nice  and  means  well  and  can  be  v  charming  with  his  words  and  smile  n  dimples  so  he  unknowingly  can  have  people  wrapped  around  his  finger  without  trying  ??  occasionally  takes  advantage  of  it  at  times  but  not  much  ,  but  things  just  come  easy  to  him  and  opportunities  just  fall  into  his  lap  that  seem  easy  to  others
for  as  lax  as  his  mom  was  in  raising  jamie,  he  ended  up  p  tame  compared  to  what  he  could’ve  gotten  up  to  with  drinking  and  drugs  ..  essentially  minded  his  own  business  and  basically  grew  up  helping  his  mom  out  at  her  apothecary  and  wandering  around  charleston  whether  it  be  at  the  beach  or  an  arcade  or  just  out  running
him  and  his  mom  were  well  off  bc  of  how  much  child  support  dimitri  gave  them  so  he  attended  private  schools  bc  his  dad  wanted  jamie  to  have  the  best  opportunities  even  though  his  mom  was  just  gonna  have  him  enrolled  in  public  school. other  than  that,  jamie  was  pretty  popular  throughout  high  school  and  was  involved  in  the  soccer  team  and  yoga  club  but  did  it  more  out  of  hobby  than  anything  else  and  did  above  average  in  his  classes  tbh
the  only  thing  jamie  kind  of  lacks  is  direction  ??  has  no  clue  what  he  wants  to  do  in  life  bc  he  thinks  he’s  too  young  to  have  his  future  planned  out  so  much  and  his  mom  doesn’t  mind  bc  she  thinks  jamie  will  find  out  what  he  wants  to  truly  do  in  time  and  the  stars  align  ,,  so  yeah  .  he  graduated  within  the  top  30  of  his  class  and  got  accepted  to  the  colleges  he  applied  to  just  in  case  he  discovered  what  he  wanted
to  many  he  kinda  just  seems  like  he’s  floating  through  life  that  appears  v  simple  and  handed  to  him  bc  of  the  money  his  dad  throws  his  way  which  is  true  ..  jamie  never  tries  to  claim  his  life  his  hard  bc  he  understands  his  privilege  and  not  everyone  has  it  ..  but  anywhoozle  he  got  bored  of  the  east  coast  and  decided  to  move  out  to  chile  and  make  up  the  for  his  lack  of  traveling  outside  america
writing  has  always  been  a  hobby  that  jamie  took  interest  in,  penciling  down  his  thoughts  and  formatting  them  into  smth  fun  and  creative.  his  journaling  turned  into  short  stories  which  turned  into  attempts  at  writing  his  own  novel.  his  fave  genre  is  science  fiction  /  fantasy  and  has  attempted  to  get  what’s  written  published  without  the  help  of  his  parents.
he  started  off  doing  a  side  gig  after  college  as  a  ghost  writer  and  through  feedback  from  publishing  companies,  jamie  found  out  that  he’s  pretty  a+  at  writing  romance  …  so  since  then  and  many  novels  under  his  belt  as  a  ghost  writer,  he’s  been  able  to  get  his  romance  books  traditionally  published  under  the  purposefully  ambiguous  pen  name  bailey  whitten
ngl  jamie  is  a  bit  embarrassed  that  it’s  his  romance  books  that  have  grown  in  popularity  throughout  the  years  and  lowkey  upset  that  his  sci-fi  /  fantasy  books  have  no  interest  to  his  agent  even  though  jamie  wants  to  keep  his  identity  away  from  public  eyes  so  bailey  whitten  to  the  book  community  is  a  legend  and  a  ghost  </3
jamie  likes  to  think  that  maybe  one  day  he’ll  be  able  to  get  his  prized  sci-fi  novel  published,  but  for  now  he  just  pockets  the  money  he  makes  from  his  writing  career  and  just  tells  people  he  ghost  writes  bc  he  finds  it  easier  that  way,  but  it  also  feeds  into  his  perception  that  it’s  just  smth  he  does  to  pass  the  time  since  he  has  a  monthly  check  coming  in  from  his  father
his  dad  is  literally  the  kris  jenner  meme  of  “  ur  doing  great  sweetie  !!  ”  with  the  camera  and  it’s  cute  bc  sometimes  he  flies down to chile to visit jamie and does those v touristy tours together
generally  an  easy  going  guy  who  is  easy  to  talk  to,  loves  people  and  is  just  enjoying  life  ??  spends  too  much  time  watching  shows  on  netflix  ,  playing  video  games  and  has  a  bit  of  an  obsession  with  making  fresh  smoothies  so  good  luck  to  his  roomies  bc  he  will  be  using  that  blender  whenever  ,,  and  drag  u  to  organic  markets  for  his  fruits  n  veggies  and  buys  too  many  candles  n  lotions
tbh  v  open  and  not  really  looking  to  commit  himself  to  anything  or  anyone  at  the  moment  ??  so  he’s  a  kind  hoe  ..  can  sleep  around  but  the  type  to  not  just  ditch  in  the  morning  but  will  make  u  breakfast  or  a  lil  sticky  note  thanking  u  for  an  a+  time  if  he  does  have  to  jet  but  mainly  just  enjoys  easy  relationships  rather  than  ones  that  are  v  demanding

Nothing like your birthday to make you realize you can’t count.
Today marks my 13th year of practicing witchcraft!
(I mean that as intentionally practicing witchcraft. Practicing alongside my mother, who doesn’t call what she does witchcraft, goes back to when I was a very small child.)
I don’t think I’ve ever actually introduced myself. I’m Magnolia – yes, like the tree, like the flower, like the leaves that are so hard to rake up and the roots that will fuck up your driveway and your plumbing. You can call me Maggie or Mags too. I’m a kitchen witch, a cottage witch, a hearth witch; whatever you want to call me. I’m a Hellenic Polytheist, with a particular focus on worshipping the Chthonic deities. I’m married, I’m childfree, and I live in the armpit of the south: South Carolina.
Best at: protection magic, food spells, Women’s Rites, veiling (physical and magical)
Worst at: divination, astrology
So let’s have some fun. Ask me anything about what I do know. Offer your own pointers on what I don’t. Tell me something interesting. My birthday plans have been cancelled by Covid yet again so I’m bored.

The Case File – Mice and Murder Ep 1
The Case of the The Pernicious Party
Hello, hello, hello! It’s been a hot second but your resident D20 recapper is back to tackle the newest season: Mice and Murder! Y’all had to know I wasn’t gonna sit out the murder mystery, are you kidding me???
I might be playing around with the format a bit in the coming weeks to make sure I have the best possible system for keeping track of possible clues, suspects, and theories as we untangle whatever web Brennan weaves for us this season so don’t be surprised if things change a little.
Anyway, without further ado, onto our mystery!
Summary
In case you missed it, this season takes place in an alternate, Zootopia/Wind in the Willows-esque universe where all the characters are animals but history seems to have happened in more or less the same way--for example there was still a King Charles but he was a King Charles Spaniel (cute Brennan). Our story specifically takes place in the English village of Tufting Meadows.
We start with Katie’s character--Gangie Green (Weasel/Thief Rogue) in the graveyard of the Anglican Chapel (Our Lady of Prayerful Paws). Gangie, we learn, is an orphan who was kicked out of the orphanage at some point for thievery. Obviously, he’s not reformed of the habit because he is here to do some graverobbing. On a nat 20 (that Katie hilariously doesn’t notice even though her total is like a 29) Gangie can see through the window of the rectory that there is a weeping window inside--Catherine McCabbage who is being (dubiously) tended to by Raph’s character, Vicar Ian Prescott (Owl/Bard, College of Eloquence).
Ian comes from a line of men of the cloth but he’s not exactly the best speaker despite his subclass. He’s doing his best though! The widow’s husband (Conor McCabbage) died at the local mill in what has been declared an accident but she suspects foul play. She’s been hearing his voice on the wind and wants Ian’s professional opinion on whether this could be a sign from God or if her husband might be speaking to her from beyond the grave or something like that. Ian gives a very muddled and not very comforting answer but seems pretty sure that something sketchy did in fact happen. Then, he sees a crack of lightning outside which illuminates the graveyard where he gets a glimpse of Gangie.
He goes to check it out (and Gangie fully has an elderly goat he’s dug up slung over his shoulder) but “gravedigger” is his legit job so Ian decides to assume whatever’s going on is legit and not ask too many questions. He goes back to the widow (who, before she leaves, says that maybe sometimes people need to work on God’s behalf) while Gangie takes the body Loam Hall (a massive manor, built into a hill).
We cut to the next day and our next two characters!
At 22B Hamsted Street in a pretty well appointed home are Ally and Grant’s characters. First up, we have Lars Vandenchomp (Huge ass Doberman/Battlemaster Fighter) who is so tough looking but also so Swedish sounding--it’s A Lot (so, incredibly on brand for Ally). Lars is security for Grant’s character Sylvester Cross (Fox/Inquisitive Rogue) who is a kinda (to use Grant’s word) “foppish” Sherlock Holmes type. He was hired by Squire William Thornwall Brockhollow to figure out what happened with Conor McCabbage (and clear him of negligence in running the mill) but he couldn’t find any evidence of any funny business, making this the only case he’s never cracked. He’s not as young or popular as he once was so this is, understandably, bumming him out. He’s even more bummed out when he realizes that William has invited him to his 60th birthday party that’s happening that night (as kind of a prop to show that he did his part in trying to solve the mystery) and Lars has already RSVP’d yes. He grudgingly agrees to go as it’s one of those asks that’s really more of a veiled demand but decides to pull the money he was paid from the bank first so he can return it and really stick it to the guy.
Finally, we cut to our last set of PCs who are on their way to Tufting Meadows via a very luxurious train. Inside are Sam and Rekha’s characters! Sam is Buckster $ Boyd (Peccary which is like a small boar/Mastermind Rouge) a Texan Oil Tycoon who acts exactly how you’d expect a Texan Oil Pig to act. Yes, you pronounce the dollar sign as “dollar sign” (even though as we find out later his middle name is Cassius so it’s like Cash which I think is super cool). With him is Rekha’s character, Daisy D'umpstaire (Raccoon/Assassin (???) Rogue another American (from South Carolina) though it seems she’s My Fair Lady’d herself into an upper class socialite (her last name was previously Dumpster). They’re traveling with their accountant, an Armadillo named Armond who seems kinda skittish and concerned about their travel expenses but Buck tells him that to make money you gotta spend money and they’re gonna make a *ton* of money on this trip. They’re also so so mean to him for absolutely no reason.
When the train stops, they’re greeted by Templeton Padhop (a frog, natch) who is the chauffeur of Loan Hall, sent to fetch them. A wheel on his car is broken so he joins in on the Armond abuse immediately and has Armond roll into an Armadillo ball and replace it. Poor guy. When they show up they're greeted by a footman--a pug in a bowler hat named Milo Snout.
Meanwhile, Lars and Sly (Oh, Sly fox, I see what you did there Grant) are similarly greeted by another footman--a lizard named Basil Baskins. On a 23 perception check, Lars sees that Jeremy “Jez” Brockhollow is inside (the son of William who is a badger btw) and also clocks Gangie (who they know as a career criminal who disappeared like a year ago). Gangie doesn’t notice Lars though.
Ian, who is also invited, shows up at about the same time as Sly but very quickly, the conversation is taken over by Lucretia “Lucy” Brockhollow, William’s older, eccentric sister who immediately gets into it with Lars about astrology and the occult (she thinks bad stuff is happening because of a curse let loose when Sly’s old rival--a rabbit named Fletcher Cottonbottom who is the son of his former employer--opened an Egyptian tomb). They’re thick as thieves right away because Ally is a nonsense magnet. And not like a regular magnet, one of those big electromagnets.
Daisy and Buck spot William’s kids--the aforementioned Jez and his older sister Constance--along with their husbands Dr. Corbin Magpie (Constance’s and obv a magpie and a doctor) and Osmond Sheffield (Jez’s who is a Ram and a lawyer). Daisy is too stuck in her conversation with a truly unhinged squirrel (Lady Eugenia Bristlebrush who clearly does not know she’s in a murder mystery because she just keeps talking about how much she hates and wants to kill everyone) to hear what’s going on but she indicates the conversation to Buck who is able to eavesdrop and hear that they’re lamenting that Catherine--the widow--RSVP’d no which is gonna look really bad, like they didn’t invite her (bad PR).
Buck, introducing himself as a business partner of William, eases into a conversation with the husbands which their respective spouses also join into and we learn that Buck's dad was British and a friend of Willian’s. Buck bonds with Jez (who is a bit of a dilettante) really quickly since Buck is ready to go drinks-wise immediately (and there’s a stellar pun about the “American [Drinking] Constitution''). Through the window, Buck notices Gangie outside getting his attention.
At the same time, Ian is going from party guest to party guest, giving out the penances he forgot to earlier at church (as one does). We see him talking to the Lord and Lady Bramble (a cow and hedgehog, respectively) and while she wants to pray her way out of situations without doing any legwork, he wants to buy his way out and gives Ian 250 pounds. A frustrating but financially lucrative conversation.
Buck goes outside to talk to Gangie who has a list of names of the bodies he’s been collecting. We’re not told what Buck is doing but it seems that this list is extremely valuable to him in some way. Gangie (who Buck keeps calling Gangly, to his annoyance) pays him handsomely (like, with a 50% tip) for the list (and Gangie gives him the real list, despite Brennan saying he didn’t have to). We also learn that Gangie has allegedly been getting the orders from someone in Loa Hall and they flow from William himself.
Matilda Molesly (a mole and the head maid) invites Gangie to come in from the rain--she’s the only person who’s been consistently nice to him and he agrees to come in for tea and scones.
Everyone is ushered together by the butler (because of course there’s a butler--he’s quite literally a fancy rat named Thomas Gilfoyle) and William gives a speech where he wishes Conor well and kinda highlights that he did hire Sly to solve the case in a “Hey, I did my bit don’t blame me” kind of way. He also makes a 150k pound donation to the church (and Ian thought 250 was good) and tells his daughter not to read the praise he got for it from the cardinal when she mentions it (I wonder if that was choreographed). Sly interrupts the speech to “magnanimously” give his money back, to William’s annoyance. Buck notices that Lawrence Longfoot (a nouveau rich, rabbit photographer) takes a pic of the scene but with Sly in the foreground and William in the background.
Then, a few things happen at once (in a very cinematic way):
As the camera flashes, Mrs. Molesly drops her tray, eyes hurt by the light. Lady Calliope Fawnbrooke (Deer, Matron of the Arts) helps her up.
In the moment of dark, after the flash goes away, the butler disappears.
Buck thinks he sees a shape through the window, out in the rain.
A cheer goes up for Sly for returning the money but all Sly can focus on is one figure he recognizes in the back of the room. Daisy, who is downing her drink and not cheering for him. He downs his as well, and looks at her until she breaks the stare and leaves the room.
And this episode doesn’t end with a dead body like I thought, but with a flashback to a younger Sylvester, 12 years ago when he first met Daisy.
PC INTERPERSONAL DRAMA Y’ALL!!! Get HYPED!
Case Notes
Here is a compilation of all the characters (PCs and NPCs introduced in this episode).
Sly mentions that Ignatius Cottonbottom faked his own death as a part of some scheme which seems like a backstory point that might come back later--we now know that there exists a way to convincingly fake your own death in this world.
Sly walks with a walking stick because of some “mysterious accident” but we’re jumping into a flashback next week so it looks like we might find out about it pretty soon.
Sly also mentions he used to be the personal physician to the elder Cottonbottom so those are skills he has. I wonder if that’ll be useful to this healer-less party. I wonder if cleric was even an option in this world which seems to be low to no magic. It would explain by Ian is a bad and not a cleric.
Lars has a military background which I wanted to mention in case it becomes relevant later.
And Dr. Magpie grew up poor and still acts it a bit even though he married a very rich woman. Brennan uses the very good line, “He forces his body into the shape of an apology”
This might be a really deep cut reference but did anyone else here was the old Britcom “Keeping Up Appearances”? Cause I was getting serious Bouquet/Bucket energy from Daisy.
This is an all College Humor season and it shows. The energy of 6 (7 if you count Brennan) top notch comedians sparking off of each other, trying to one up each other is off the charts. Some of the best bits this episode:
“When God closes every door but one, you go through the door that is open.” followed by “I’m an owl by the way.”
“Time is money, here’s both” from Buck re his inscribed gold pocket watch--everyone at the table loved that so much and they’re right.
Armond going from being a third to a fourth wheel.
And the names--I already shouted out a ton on the main recap but also a rat butler (like Rhett Butler) and naming the mouse Cat(therine). Can’t forget Gangie Green/gangrene from Katie. Also points to Ally for the data stealing Eel Musk which broke Brennan a little.
I know we just went through this with Crown of Candy but what are these animals eating? Like, in Zootopia there were only mammals so we can assume the carnivores are eating like birds and fish but there are sentient birds here. I know this isn’t important. I’m not trying to do a CinemaSins gotcha. I just wonder, you know?
Y’all were waiting for all the lights to go out during that speech and then come back on and there’d be a body too, right?
If Brennan makes the bad guy a chicken or a duck or something so he can make a “fowl play” joke, he is cordially invited to catch these hands.
I have been waiting for Raph and Katie to do D20 forever. Their specific brand of nonsense on Rank Room was always amazing.
I love love love that Grant and Rekha are the PCs that have ~a past~ because they are so funny together. If you haven’t seen their episode of Game Changers, you absolutely must (it’s also a murder mystery actually!).

–– so david and alexandra baker were high school sweethearts . they were both born and raised in west orange , nj . they got married in 1996 , and traveled the world a bit . they came back to new jersey, but shortly after they moved to charleston , south carolina . her mother was a teacher in one of the elementary schools while her dad worked as banker . the bakers (like their last name) loved baking , but they both had jobs they loved .  –– it wasn’t until 1999 , when mia was born that the bakers decided to change their lives completely . the doctors told alexandra that after the birth of mia , she can’t have any more kids . so they opened up a small boutique bakery in charleston and called it ‘mia’s’. to them, she was their whole world .  –– their bakery was the best one around charleston , causing it to be packed on certain days , but the bakers didn’t mind it . as long as they were able to provide the best of the best for mia , they were happy. –– growing up an only child , she had everything she wanted . she wasn’t that spoiled and she never had the most expensive things , but her parents got her whatever she wanted . she was a quiet kid , never really cried or screamed , was every parent’s dream child . she was extremely smart and did well at school . –– she loved being with her parents at the bakery , even though she usually hated doing chores at home . helping them at the bakery just felt like something enjoyable , much more than doing chores . she always walked around and helped the workers and her parents with everything . as she got older she also worked there.  –– as days went by , people slowly started to come less, newer and better bakeries started showing up , causing the baker’s to have less income . seeing it as a teen broke mia’s heart . –– when mia turned 16 , her parents’ bakery went bankrupt and her parents just couldn’t bring themselves to go back to their old jobs . eventually her mom went back to teach elementary school , but her dad just couldn’t . he got depressed and ever since that day he just hasn’t been the same .  –– seeing how it has affected her family , mia started working at all kinds of jobs –– she was a dog sitter , a babysitter , worked as a waitress for a while , but the job she stayed at the most was being a barista . every penny she made went straight to her parents , even though it always somehow came back to her (because they used her money to buy her nice things). –– because she felt like she had to take care of her parents , she didn’t have many friends during high school . she was the shy and quiet girl no one really noticed or talked to . and she didn’t mind it , she had so much shit to deal with that she preferred to just have no friends or not be as social and work to make sure her parents are fine . it’s not like they were broke , but they had their ups and downs financially . –– she still did pretty well at school , but she never really wanted to go to college . when she turned 18 she decided she wanted to go to culinary school in nyc . so she worked her ass off just enough to get into ICE (institute of culinary education in nyc). she got her diploma after a year of studying and you bet your ass this girl was the top of her class ! –– she stayed in nyc for two more years  before she came back to charleston . she tried to find inspiration for the bakery back at home . she worked at many different bakeries , just to get some experience before she could being her family’s business back to life.  –– about a year ago (after her 21st bday) she decided to go back to charleston and work on reopening the bakery . she redid the whole thing and about 6 months ago , mia baker reopened ‘mia’s’ bakery !  –– she has a dream to go to paris and open a bakery there someday but she is concentrating on her family for now . she knows she still has time to do whatever she wants .
PERSONALITY:
–– she loves baking more than anything . when she’s happy , she’s baking . when she’s stressed she’s baking . baking is her solution for everything . –– she’s extremely loyal . she didn’t have many friends growing up but she knows how to be loyal. –– she’s super stubborn . if she thinks she’s right , there’s no way in hell you can change her mind . –– she’s pretty anxious ? she doesn’t show it to the outside world bc little baby had to learn how to hide her feelings her whole teenage years , but she get pretty anxious from time to time and money makes her SUPER anxious . –– she’s also a very rationale and careful person ??? –– haven’t done drugs EVER , and rarely drinks. got a little bit of the party scene when she lived in nyc , but still wasn’t really a fan of going to parties . –– doesn’t really know how to be social in places with a lot of people give her social anxiety –– although she’s not very social , flirting comes naturally to her and she knows how to flirt but mostly does it without even noticing –– falls in love too easily . just tell her pretty words and she’ll fall for you. but at the same time she’ll be like a lost puppy and so clueless . she sometimes mistakes friendliness for flirting. –– would give you the world if she can . cares very deeply for people around her –– super independent . will not take help from ANYONE  –– LOVES DOGS !
possible plots:
–– best friends , toxic fwb , toxic friend , bad influence , brother figure , enemies , someone she possibly had a crush on in the past but too scared to admit it. idk honestly anything !

Robert Charles Durman Mitchum (August 6, 1917 – July 1, 1997) was an American actor, director, author, poet, composer, and singer. Mitchum rose to prominence for starring roles in several classic films noirs, and his acting is generally considered a forerunner of the antiheroes prevalent in film during the 1950s and 1960s. His best-known films include Out of the Past (1947), The Night of the Hunter (1955), Cape Fear (1962), and El Dorado (1966). Mitchum was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for The Story of G.I. Joe (1945). He is also known for his television role as U.S. Navy Captain Victor “Pug” Henry in the epic miniseries The Winds of War (1983) and sequel War and Remembrance (1988).
Mitchum is rated number 23 on the American Film Institute's list of the greatest male stars of Classic American Cinema.
Robert Mitchum was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut, on August 6, 1917, into a Norwegian-Irish Methodist family. His mother, Ann Harriet Gunderson, was a Norwegian immigrant and sea captain's daughter; his father, James Thomas Mitchum, was a shipyard and railroad worker of Irish descent.[3] His older sister, Annette (known as Julie Mitchum during her acting career), was born in 1914. Their father, James Mitchum, was crushed to death in a railyard accident in Charleston, South Carolina, in February 1919. Robert was one year old, and Annette was not yet five. Their mother was awarded a government pension, and soon realized she was pregnant. Her third child, John, was born in September of that year. Ann married again to Major Hugh Cunningham Morris, a former Royal Naval Reserve officer. Ann and Morris had a daughter together, Carol Morris, born July 1927, on the family farm in Delaware. When all of the children were old enough to attend school, Ann found employment as a linotype operator for the Bridgeport Post.
As a child, Mitchum was known as a prankster, often involved in fistfights and mischief. When he was 12, his mother sent him to live with her parents in Felton, Delaware; the boy was promptly expelled from middle school for scuffling with the principal. A year later, in 1930, he moved in with his older sister Annette, in New York's Hell's Kitchen. After being expelled from Haaren High School, he left his sister and traveled throughout the country, hopping on railroad cars, taking a number of jobs, including ditch-digging for the Civilian Conservation Corps and professional boxing. At age 14 in Savannah, Georgia, he said he was arrested for vagrancy and put on a local chain gang. By Mitchum's own account, he escaped and returned to his family in Delaware. During this time, while recovering from injuries that nearly cost him a leg, he met Dorothy Spence, whom he would later marry. He soon went back on the road, eventually "riding the rails" to California.
Mitchum arrived in Long Beach, California, in 1936, staying again with his sister, now going by the name of Julie. She had moved to the West Coast in the hope of acting in movies, and the rest of the Mitchum family soon joined them. During this time, Mitchum worked as a ghostwriter for astrologer Carroll Righter. Julie convinced him to join the local theater guild with her. At The Players Guild of Long Beach, Mitchum worked as a stagehand and occasional bit-player in company productions. He also wrote several short pieces which were performed by the guild. According to Lee Server's biography (Robert Mitchum: Baby, I Don't Care), Mitchum put his talent for poetry to work writing song lyrics and monologues for Julie's nightclub performances.
In 1940, he returned to Delaware to marry Dorothy Spence, and they moved back to California. He gave up his artistic pursuits at the birth of their first child James, nicknamed Josh, and two more children, Chris and Petrine, followed. Mitchum found steady employment as a machine operator during wartime era WWII, with the Lockheed Aircraft Corporation, but the noise of the machinery damaged his hearing. He also suffered a nervous breakdown (which resulted in temporary blindness), due to job-related stress. He then sought work as a film actor, performing initially as an extra and in small speaking parts. His agent got him an interview with Harry Sherman, the producer of Paramount's Hopalong Cassidy western film series, which starred William Boyd; Mitchum was hired to play minor villainous roles in several films in the series during 1942 and 1943. He went uncredited as a soldier in the Mickey Rooney 1943 film The Human Comedy. Also in 1943 he and Randolph Scott were soldiers in the Pacific Island war film Gung Ho.
Mitchum continued to find work as an extra and supporting actor in numerous productions for various studios. After impressing director Mervyn LeRoy during the making of Thirty Seconds Over Tokyo, Mitchum signed a seven-year contract with RKO Radio Pictures. He was groomed for B-Western stardom in a series of Zane Grey adaptations.
Following the moderately successful Western Nevada, RKO lent Mitchum to United Artists for The Story of G.I. Joe (1945). In the film, he portrayed war-weary officer Bill Walker (based on Captain Henry T. Waskow), who remains resolute despite the troubles he faces. The film, which followed the life of an ordinary soldier through the eyes of journalist Ernie Pyle (played by Burgess Meredith), became an instant critical and commercial success. Shortly after filming, Mitchum was drafted into the United States Army, serving at Fort MacArthur, California, as a medic. At the 1946 Academy Awards, The Story of G.I. Joe was nominated for four Oscars, including Mitchum's only nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He finished the year with a Western (West of the Pecos) and a story of returning Marine veterans (Till the End of Time), before filming in a genre that came to define Mitchum's career and screen persona: film noir.
Mitchum was initially known for his work in film noir. His first foray into the genre was a supporting role in the 1944 B-movie When Strangers Marry, about newlyweds and a New York City serial killer. Undercurrent, another of Mitchum's early noir films, featured him as a troubled, sensitive man entangled in the affairs of his brother (Robert Taylor) and his brother's suspicious wife (Katharine Hepburn). John Brahm's The Locket (1946) featured Mitchum as bitter ex-boyfriend to Laraine Day's femme fatale. Raoul Walsh's Pursued (1947) combined Western and noir styles, with Mitchum's character attempting to recall his past and find those responsible for killing his family. Crossfire (also 1947) featured Mitchum as a member of a group of World War II soldiers, one of whom kills a Jewish man. It featured themes of anti-Semitism and the failings of military training. The film, directed by Edward Dmytryk, earned five Academy Award nominations.
Following Crossfire, Mitchum starred in Out of the Past (also called Build My Gallows High), directed by Jacques Tourneur and featuring the cinematography of Nicholas Musuraca. Mitchum played Jeff Markham, a small-town gas-station owner and former investigator, whose unfinished business with gambler Whit Sterling (Kirk Douglas) and femme fatale Kathie Moffett (Jane Greer) comes back to haunt him.
On September 1, 1948, after a string of successful films for RKO, Mitchum and actress Lila Leeds were arrested for possession of marijuana.[10] The arrest was the result of a sting operation designed to capture other Hollywood partiers as well, but Mitchum and Leeds did not receive the tipoff. After serving a week at the county jail (he described the experience to a reporter as being "like Palm Springs, but without the riff-raff"), Mitchum spent 43 days (February 16 to March 30) at a Castaic, California, prison farm. Life photographers were permitted to take photos of him mopping up in his prison uniform. The arrest inspired the exploitation film She Shoulda Said No! (1949), which starred Leeds. The conviction was later overturned by the Los Angeles court and district attorney's office on January 31, 1951, after being exposed as a setup.
Despite, or because of, Mitchum's troubles with the law and his studio, his films released immediately after his arrest were box-office hits. Rachel and the Stranger (1948) featured Mitchum in a supporting role as a mountain man competing for the hand of Loretta Young, the indentured servant and wife of William Holden. In the film adaptation of John Steinbeck's novella The Red Pony (1949), he appeared as a trusted cowhand to a ranching family. He returned to film noir in The Big Steal (also 1949), where he reunited with Jane Greer in an early Don Siegel film.
In Where Danger Lives (1950), Mitchum played a doctor who comes between a mentally unbalanced Faith Domergue and cuckolded Claude Rains. The Racket was a noir remake of the early crime drama of the same name and featured Mitchum as a police captain fighting corruption in his precinct. The Josef von Sternberg film, Macao (1952), had Mitchum as a victim of mistaken identity at an exotic resort casino, playing opposite Jane Russell. Otto Preminger's Angel Face was the first of three collaborations between Mitchum and British stage actress Jean Simmons. In this film, she played an insane heiress who plans to use young ambulance driver Mitchum to kill for her.
Mitchum was fired from Blood Alley (1955), due to his conduct, reportedly having thrown the film's transportation manager into San Francisco Bay. According to Sam O'Steen's memoir Cut to the Chase, Mitchum showed up on-set after a night of drinking and tore apart a studio office when they did not have a car ready for him. Mitchum walked off the set of the third day of filming Blood Alley, claiming he could not work with the director. Because Mitchum was showing up late and behaving erratically, producer John Wayne, after failing to obtain Humphrey Bogart as a replacement, took over the role himself.
Following a series of conventional Westerns and films noirs, as well as the Marilyn Monroe vehicle River of No Return (1954), Mitchum appeared in Charles Laughton's only film as director: The Night of the Hunter (1955). Based on a novel by Davis Grubb, the thriller starred Mitchum as a monstrous criminal posing as a preacher to find money hidden by his cellmate in the cellmate's home. His performance as Reverend Harry Powell is considered by many to be one of the best of his career.[15][16] Stanley Kramer's melodrama Not as a Stranger, also released in 1955, was a box-office hit. The film starred Mitchum against type, as an idealistic young doctor, who marries an older nurse (Olivia de Havilland), only to question his morality many years later. However, the film was not well received, with most critics pointing out that Mitchum, Frank Sinatra, and Lee Marvin were all too old for their characters. Olivia de Havilland received top billing over Mitchum and Sinatra.
On March 8, 1955, Mitchum formed DRM (Dorothy and Robert Mitchum) Productions to produce five films for United Artists; four films were produced. The first film was Bandido (1956). Following a succession of average Westerns and the poorly received Foreign Intrigue (1956), Mitchum starred in the first of three films with Deborah Kerr. The John Huston war drama Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison, starred Mitchum as a Marine corporal shipwrecked on a Pacific Island with a nun, Sister Angela (Deborah Kerr), as his sole companion. In this character study, they struggle to resist the elements and the invading Japanese army. The film was nominated for two Academy Awards, including Best Actress and Best Adapted Screenplay. For his role, Mitchum was nominated for a BAFTA Award for Best Foreign Actor. In the WWII submarine classic The Enemy Below (1956), Mitchum gave a strong performance as U.S. Naval Lieutenant Commander Murrell, the captain of a U.S. Navy destroyer who matches wits with a German U-boat captain Curt Jurgens, who starred with Mitchum again in the legendary 1962 movie The Longest Day. The film won an Oscar for Special Effects.
Thunder Road (1958), the second DRM Production, was loosely based on an incident in which a driver transporting moonshine was said to have fatally crashed on Kingston Pike in Knoxville, Tennessee, somewhere between Bearden Hill and Morrell Road. According to Metro Pulse writer Jack Renfro, the incident occurred in 1952 and may have been witnessed by James Agee, who passed the story on to Mitchum. He starred in the movie, produced, co-wrote the screenplay, and is rumored to have directed much of the film. It costars his son James, as his on screen brother, in a role originally intended for Elvis Presley. Mitchum also co-wrote (with Don Raye) the theme song, "The Ballad of Thunder Road".
He returned to Mexico for The Wonderful Country (1959) and Ireland for A Terrible Beauty/The Night Fighters for the last of his DRM Productions.
Mitchum and Kerr reunited for the Fred Zinnemann film, The Sundowners (1960), where they played husband and wife struggling in Depression-era Australia. Opposite Mitchum, Kerr was nominated for yet another Academy Award for Best Actress, while the film was nominated for a total of five Oscars. Mitchum was awarded that year's National Board of Review award for Best Actor for his performance. The award also recognized his superior performance in the Vincente Minnelli Western drama Home from the Hill (also 1960). He was teamed with former leading ladies Kerr and Simmons, as well as Cary Grant, for the Stanley Donen comedy The Grass Is Greener the same year.
Mitchum's performance as the menacing rapist Max Cady in Cape Fear (1962) brought him further renown for playing cold, predatory characters. The 1960s were marked by a number of lesser films and missed opportunities. Among the films Mitchum passed on during the decade were John Huston's The Misfits (the last film of its stars Clark Gable and Marilyn Monroe), the Academy Award–winning Patton, and Dirty Harry. The most notable of his films in the decade included the war epics The Longest Day (1962) and Anzio (1968), the Shirley MacLaine comedy-musical What a Way to Go! (1964), and the Howard Hawks Western El Dorado (1967), a remake of Rio Bravo (1959), in which Mitchum took over Dean Martin's role of the drunk who comes to the aid of John Wayne. He teamed with Martin for the 1968 Western 5 Card Stud, playing a homicidal preacher.
One of the lesser-known aspects of Mitchum's career was his foray into music as a singer. Critic Greg Adams writes, "Unlike most celebrity vocalists, Robert Mitchum actually had musical talent." Mitchum's voice was often used instead of that of a professional singer when his character sang in his films. Notable productions featuring Mitchum's own singing voice included Rachel and the Stranger, River of No Return, and The Night of the Hunter. After hearing traditional calypso music and meeting artists such as Mighty Sparrow and Lord Invader while filming Heaven Knows, Mr. Allison in the Caribbean islands of Tobago, he recorded Calypso – is like so ... in March 1957. On the album, released through Capitol Records, he emulated the calypso sound and style, even adopting the style's unique pronunciations and slang. A year later, he recorded a song he had written for Thunder Road, titled "The Ballad of Thunder Road". The country-style song became a modest hit for Mitchum, reaching number 69 on the Billboard Pop Singles chart. The song was included as a bonus track on a successful reissue of Calypso ... and helped market the film to a wider audience.
Although Mitchum continued to use his singing voice in his film work, he waited until 1967 to record his follow-up record, That Man, Robert Mitchum, Sings. The album, released by Nashville-based Monument Records, took him further into country music, and featured songs similar to "The Ballad of Thunder Road". "Little Old Wine Drinker Me", the first single, was a top-10 hit at country radio, reaching number nine there, and crossed over onto mainstream radio, where it peaked at number 96. Its follow-up, "You Deserve Each Other", also charted on the Billboard Country Singles chart. He sang the title song to the Western Young Billy Young, made in 1969.
Mitchum made a departure from his typical screen persona with the 1970 David Lean film Ryan's Daughter, in which he starred as Charles Shaughnessy, a mild-mannered schoolmaster in World War I–era Ireland. At the time of filming, Mitchum was going through a personal crisis and planned to commit suicide. Aside from a personal crisis, his recent films had been critical and commercial flops. Screenwriter Robert Bolt told him that he could commit suicide after the film was finished and that he would personally pay for his burial. Though the film was nominated for four Academy Awards (winning two) and Mitchum was much publicized as a contender for a Best Actor nomination, he was not nominated. George C. Scott won the award for his performance in Patton, a project Mitchum had rejected for Ryan's Daughter.
The 1970s featured Mitchum in a number of well-received crime dramas. The Friends of Eddie Coyle (1973) had the actor playing an aging Boston hoodlum caught between the Feds and his criminal friends. Sydney Pollack's The Yakuza (1974) transplanted the typical film noir story arc to the Japanese underworld. He also appeared in 1976's Midway about an epic 1942 World War II battle. Mitchum's stint as an aging Philip Marlowe in the Raymond Chandler adaptation Farewell, My Lovely (1975) was sufficiently well received by audiences and critics for him to reprise the role in 1978's The Big Sleep.
In 1982, Mitchum played Coach Delaney in the film adaptation of playwright/actor Jason Miller's 1973 Pulitzer Prize-winning play That Championship Season.
At the premiere for That Championship Season, Mitchum, while intoxicated, assaulted a female reporter and threw a basketball that he was holding (a prop from the film) at a female photographer from Time magazine, injuring her neck and knocking out two of her teeth. She sued him for $30 million for damages. The suit eventually "cost him his salary from the film."
That Championship Season may have indirectly led to another debacle for Mitchum several months later. In a February 1983 Esquire interview, he made several racist, anti-Semitic and sexist statements, including, when asked if the Holocaust occurred, responded "so the Jews say." Following the widespread negative response, he apologized a month later, saying that his statements were "prankish" and "foreign to my principle." He claimed that the problem had begun when he recited a racist monologue from his role in That Championship Season, the writer believing the words to be his own. Mitchum, who claimed that he had only reluctantly agreed to the interview, then decided to "string... along" the writer with even more incendiary statements.
Mitchum expanded to television work with the 1983 miniseries The Winds of War. The big-budget Herman Wouk story aired on ABC, starring Mitchum as naval officer "Pug" Henry and Victoria Tennant as Pamela Tudsbury, and examined the events leading up to America's involvement in World War II. He returned to the role in 1988's War and Remembrance, which continued the story through the end of the war.
In 1984, Mitchum entered the Betty Ford Center in Palm Springs, California for treatment of a drinking problem.
He played George Hazard's father-in-law in the 1985 miniseries North and South, which also aired on ABC.
Mitchum starred opposite Wilford Brimley in the 1986 made-for-TV movie Thompson's Run. A hardened con (Mitchum), being transferred from a federal penitentiary to a Texas institution to finish a life sentence as a habitual criminal, is freed at gunpoint by his niece (played by Kathleen York). The cop (Brimley) who was transferring him, and has been the con's lifelong friend and adversary for over 30 years, vows to catch the twosome.
In 1987, Mitchum was the guest-host on Saturday Night Live, where he played private eye Philip Marlowe for the last time in the parody sketch, "Death Be Not Deadly". The show ran a short comedy film he made (written and directed by his daughter, Trina) called Out of Gas, a mock sequel to Out of the Past. (Jane Greer reprised her role from the original film.) He also was in Bill Murray's 1988 comedy film, Scrooged.
In 1991, Mitchum was given a lifetime achievement award from the National Board of Review of Motion Pictures, in the same year he received the Telegatto award and in 1992 the Cecil B. DeMille Award from the Golden Globe Awards.
Mitchum continued to act in films until the mid-1990s, such as in Jim Jarmusch's Dead Man, and he narrated the Western Tombstone. He also appeared, in contrast to his role as the antagonist in the original, as a protagonist police detective in Martin Scorsese's remake of Cape Fear, but the actor gradually slowed his workload. His last film appearance was a small but pivotal role in the television biopic, James Dean: Race with Destiny, playing Giant director George Stevens. His last starring role was in the 1995 Norwegian movie Pakten.
A lifelong heavy smoker, Mitchum died on July 1, 1997, in Santa Barbara, California, due to complications of lung cancer and emphysema. He was about five weeks shy of his 80th birthday. His body was cremated and his ashes scattered at sea, though there is a plot marker in the Odd Fellows Cemetery in Delaware. He was survived by his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Mitchum (May 2, 1919 – April 12, 2014, Santa Barbara, California, aged 94); his sons, actors James Mitchum and Christopher Mitchum; and his daughter, writer Petrine Day Mitchum. His grandchildren, Bentley Mitchum and Carrie Mitchum, are actors, as was his younger brother, John, who died in 2001. Another grandson, Kian, is a successful model.
Mitchum is regarded by some critics as one of the finest actors of the Golden Age of Hollywood. Roger Ebert called him "the soul of film noir." Mitchum, however, was self-effacing; in an interview with Barry Norman for the BBC about his contribution to cinema, Mitchum stopped Norman in mid flow and in his typical nonchalant style, said, "Look, I have two kinds of acting. One on a horse and one off a horse. That's it." He had also succeeded in annoying some of his fellow actors by voicing his puzzlement at those who viewed the profession as challenging and hard work. He is quoted as having said in the Barry Norman interview that acting was actually very simple and that his job was to "show up on time, know his lines, hit his marks, and go home". Mitchum had a habit of marking most of his appearances in the script with the letters "n.a.r.", which meant "no action required", which critic Dirk Baecker has construed as Mitchum's way of reminding himself to experience the world of the story without acting upon it.
AFI's 100 Years...100 Stars lists Mitchum as the 23rd-greatest male star of classic Hollywood cinema. AFI also recognized his performance as the menacing rapist Max Cady and Reverend Harry Powell as the 28th and 29th greatest screen villains, respectively, of all time as part of AFI's 100 Years...100 Heroes and Villains. He provided the voice of the famous American Beef Council commercials that touted "Beef ... it's what's for dinner", from 1992 until his death.
A "Mitchum's Steakhouse" is in Trappe, Maryland, where Mitchum and his family lived from 1959 to 1965.
