Experiencing Veronaville's Scripted Events for the first time in forever (2/3)

Next up was the Monty's scripted events and oh boy, did it spiral quickly.

Romeo called Juliette over to have a quick make out sesh and she brought her brother Tybalt with her. Because sure, that's what you when your boyfriend invites you over to spend time together lol.

Mercutio didn't even let the makeout animation play out before he was insulting her. Which of course, Tybalt retaliated by slapping Romeo.

Which then spiraled into Tybalt attacking Mercutio what a beautiful beginning to their love story /j. Mercutio lost that and his aspiration plummeted, just shy of the point where he would've had a mental breakdown.

Romeo lectured Tybalt, which honestly rightly so because he was the only one out of the four who didn't instigate anything as Juliette slapped Mercutio and made him cry.

Not a part of the scripted event (obviously), but I moved them into their new house after I did it and Olivia gave birth to baby Benvolio as soon as I loaded in lol.

VeronaHills, Round Fourteen: Monty (A)

Baby Benvolio was now a pubgoer with a magnificent moustache.

The return of a Monty to Mission University was heralded with a pint, courtesy of Mercutio's wallet. "Time makes handsome devils of us all" was the toast - if mamma was there they would've swapped out the underworld reference to something a little less gasp-inducing - and they happily drank to that. The toast also acknowledged Ben's feat of immediately making the dean's list in his History major. Intelligence was just as important as bone structure for a gentleman to be truly handsome!.. That was Ben's justification for having no lady friend yet, anyway.

Beer-breathed conversation shifted to mourning Dogberry (real men cried for their best friends). He went in his sleep, curled up in the comfort of his velvet dog palace. Everyone prayed for him to be lying in the laps of Patrizio and Isabella now. Romeo's tribute post on his Instagram got half a million likes and the football club manager sent flowers. He also had condolence visits from various women, which were apparently very comforting indeed.

VVBS FAMILY DECREPATION DROPED!

I also updated the family descriptions from the previous post here. Like last time, I have provided a link to the wiki for new sims to understand the reference

Albany wanted a big family, and he got it without paying attention to the growing strife from within. Meanwhile Goneril has been having a secret affair, in which she found a lifeline and a chance break free from her old beliefs in order to openly express her genuine thoughts and feelings. Will Mrs. Capp be able to go on with it or will she once again withdraw into her shell for the supposed family “stability”? And will Miranda, Hal, Desdemona and Ariel carry on the Capp pseudo-traditions, or smash the establishment to smithereens?

Antonio Monty’s emotional state and career are sinking to the bottom of a “grape juice” bottle. Will his children be able to help him recover from the loss or is he going to need the outside help? Where has Hero disappeared to? Was it an alien abduction, like how it happened to that lady in a red dress? Or does Regan Capp have something to do with it, since Hero wouldn’t stop going on about her until the day she vanished into thin air?

Regan and Cornwall had to move from the big city of Belladonna Cove back to the small Veronaville due to unsuccessful financial shenanigans. It appears that these two will have to move in with, in Cornwall’s own words, a no-good, insignificant, useless and lazy Regan’s younger brother until the duo gains the strength to start all over again.

Bianca Monty has always dreamt about children, and someone from above gave her a clear answer by leaving a young and eccentric Benvolio on her doorstep. Recently, however, the young mother has been feeling uneasy and is growing distant from her adoptive son. How does Benvolio feel about this and is he aware of the reasons behind his mother’s anxiety?

Act 1, Scene 1 of Twisted Veronaville: Everything That Already Happened

The story of Romeo and Juliette begins as it began before. Romeo and Juliette meet at a party hosted by the Summerdream family, where Romeo discovers that the girl he had a crush on, Hermia, liked someone else. He catches Juliette's eye, and the two have been seeing each other in secret since.

Juliette: Romeo, I was thinking we should go steady.

Romeo: Really? Well, I...um...okay! Sure! We can go steady.

Juliette: Great! And are we still on for meeting at your house tonight?

Romeo: Yep.

Juliette: Awesome! I love you, Romeo!

Romeo: ...Love you too.

But unlike the previous secret meetings beforehand, this one doesn't go as planned.

Romeo: Juliette, you're here!...why's Tybalt with you?

Juliette: He caught me sneaking out and insisted on coming...I'm sorry.

Romeo: Tybalt, if you wanted to see my brother you could've just waited another thirty minutes. He's at work right now.

Tybalt: I'm not here for your brother. I'm just making sure Juliette doesn't get hurt by one of you disgusting Montys. I know what you did to Hermia, and I'm not letting you use Juliette as a rebound.

Juliette: Tybalt, it's not that big of a deal. So what if he used to have a crush on her? Mercutio used to have a crush on her, and you never attacked him for it.

Tybalt: That's because he always had that fucker Benvolio with him! But now that he's been fucking exiled from the family...

Romeo: Don't fucking bring Benvolio into this!

The sound of a car pulls up as Mercutio steps out, having just finished a day of work.

Mercutio: YEAH! BEAT HIS ASS, ROMEO!

Tybalt: YOU'RE NEXT!

Juliette: You really need to stop beating people up.

Tybalt: They're Montys, not people!

Juliette: This is why we can't go anywhere with you! Bringing up Benvolio to provoke Romeo is a new low, even for you! How'd you like if it they brought up-

Tybalt: DON'T FUCKING MENTION THE FIRE!

Juliette: I wasn't going to! But you know what I mean, right? Can you at least, like, try to get along with them? For me?

Tybalt: ...

Tybalt: No.

Juliette: Ugh, I wish I had a different brother...let's just go back home. I'm going to go say goodbye to Romeo really quick...

Romeo: So, how are you feeling?

Mercutio: How are YOU feeling? You got beat up even more than I did. And you really need to get better taste in women.

Romeo: But I like Juliette! She's sweet, and super funny! I think I'm in love!

Mercutio: You said that with Hermia, too, just a couple of days ago before we saw her at Puck's party.

Romeo: Don't act like you didn't like her too...I'm surprised you're not mad at Puck about that.

Mercutio: It does sting, but he's my friend. I'd feel the same way if Benvolio was the one who got with her, too...I still find it funny how all three of us had a crush on her.

Romeo: How are you okay with bringing him up so casually? Nonno and Nonna did banish him, after all...

Mercutio: I'll be able to talk to him once I go to college, which isn't really too far off.

Romeo: If he's not dead.

Mercutio: He's probably fine. He was always the most reasonable out of us three, so he's probably found a way to survive.

Romeo: ...I hope you're right.

Things i want to do in Veronaville:

- Bring back Claudio and Olivia and make her pregnancy come to term (undecided on the name for the baby but I would assume it would be a boy)

- Contessa Capp is alive, she was meant to be playable originally which we can see from her bio

- I may bring Cordelia and Caliban back too just because IMO VV has too many unnecessarily dead sims. Sure I guess there is the fued but it makes VV seem very empty with all these random dead sims

- Hero Monty deserved better and honestly I might bring her back pregnant just because

- Bring Viola Monty back as a teenager

- Give Viola an identical male twin (Sebastian)

- Potentially keep Viola and Sebastian living in the shadows of Romeo and Mercutio to create some sibling rivalry? Maybe they’re forced to live in the family house with Claudio & Olivia while Romeo & Mercutio live with the grandparents as potential heirs?

- Somehow rename Benedick and Beatrice Monty without taking away from Viola who is already established as a VV character (I hate that they give these names to twins but I don’t like renaming B&B to Viola and Sebastian since the discovery of Viola Monty’s existence)… I was thinking of naming them after Shakespeare’s real life twin children Hamnet and Judith but I’m not sure. The other option is Robson & Crane from Comedy of Errors but I don’t think either of those names sound particularly feminine for Beatrice…

- Create Benvolio and Rosaline from R&J but give them their own separate families so that we don’t just have three families in VV (maybe one of them could be the child of Puck’s bio parents for a twist which would technically make them Puck’s bio sibling?)

- The usual Romeo & Juliet storyline will play out but with more characters alive for the feud i think it would add deeper dynamics (i.e. Cordelia was neutral from Contessa’s bio)

- Tybalt and Mercutio will eventually be a couple… their enemies to lovers storyline is just *chefs kiss*

- I would also like to recreate Puck’s biological parents and potentially Bottom’s too since we’ve had confirmation from the storytelling images and game files that these sims were most definitely deleted

- Hal Capp’s face must be fixed!!! I would also like Miranda to have more involvement - maybe she falls for Benvolio or Rosaline instead of typically getting involved with Mercutio?

- Kent Capp is 100% gay there is no doubt in my mind I’m sorry to those who ship him with Bianca they are just besties

I mayyyy look at the alt VV by dreadpirate and also the more historically accurate VV i’ve seen on MTS and take some inspiration from both of these too but these are the general ideas that I have for an almost ultimate good end VV??

the thing is antonio is the name of hero's uncle in much ado about nothing so the twins arent even the only ones with some incest subtext with the naming conventions (even if antonio monty's name comes from the merchant of venice) and in the play hero hooks up with claudio, so it should have been more reasonable for the name to be used for claudio monty's wife instead of antonio monty's wife?

not that it would stop the heros-uncle-antonio connection from existing in the first place, so maybe hero is a weird name to appear in the family tree at all if antonio was to be the name of claudio monty's brother? and frankly in the context of viola being one of the children of claudio and olivia (whether she is interpreted as a pre-transition romeo or a post-transition benvolio)(im in favor of the latter) then olivia's name is on the weird side too (since countess olivia fell in love with viola while she was disguised as cesario in twelfth night) ... its dire in here for lovers of thematic naming

With the kids away at school and baby Benvolio put down for a nap, the Monty elders and their favourite son and daughter in-law settled down for a friendly game of poker.

Viola’s the quietest and quite bookish compared to her two older brothers - she’s not even going to consider Benvolio in that, he’s loud by default because he’s a baby. Settling down to read a book, Viola attempted to block out the sound of SSX 3 and her brothers coming from down the hall.

Isabella loves all her grandchildren and in no way shows favouritism towards Claudio’s children. She wishes that Antonio would visit with the twins more often. But she especially wishes that her wayward daughter would finally settle down and start a family of her own…

VeronaHills, Round Nine: Monty (A)

Romeo relished the responsibilities of being the Monty spare.

The pressure was off to marry and make more of the Monty name; Romeo simply had to focus on what he already had. His baby sister Em loved being read to before bed, so he cracked open the classics and practised his character voices. His baby brother Ben wanted to feel like a rebellious teen once in a while, so he fetched the washing powder and watched over the ensuing bubbles in their garden's fountain. Finally, when he got home from football matches, a beautiful woman would be lying in wait in his bedroom - and he would do anything for her too. What was her name again?

"Come to Trisha," she purred, clad only in a headscarf. Thankfully she reintroduced herself unprompted - that made romancing a hell of a lot easier.

Football kit flew to the floor as Romeo fulfilled his tireless duties.

Mercutio still wasn’t quite sure how he felt about Romeo dating the elder Capp girl. It wasn’t as if he had any personal issues with her, he barely knew her at all. But Mercutio knew that Romeo was treading in dangerous waters, and Mercutio couldn’t do much other than hope his brother wouldn’t drown. Romeo was always going to follow where his heart took him, no matter what anyone said. 

He just hoped that Romeo wouldn’t fuck up and break her heart. If there was anything Mercutio had learned, it was that no one ever wanted to bear witness to the wrath of a Capp. It was bad enough with Rosaline, who still wouldn’t even look at Mercutio without scowling even though he had nothing to do with her breakup with Romeo! 

Honestly, that whole family was filled with bad tempers!

“You think Romeo ran for the hills after last night?” Benvolio asked teasingly, “I haven’t seen him since this morning.” Mercutio remembered it quite clearly, hearing his younger brother sneaking back in the house. When he left his room to ask how things went, Romeo looked about as pale as a sheet of paper.

At first, Mercutio was surprised that Romeo was even alive after Tybalt had caught him with Juliette. His surprise only grew when Romeo said he’d just let him leave—without a single scratch. He was a little peeved about it, seeing as though Tybalt held no mercy for Mercutio for doing a lot less. 

Okay—maybe he’d provoked him once or twice. Maybe, a few times. Okay, most of the time. 

Mercutio shrugged with a hum, “Doubt it, he’s probably just with his girlfriend.” Perhaps it was just the honeymoon phase, but it definitely seemed as though Romeo’s life had begun to solely revolve around Juliette. Were relationships that life changing that every single conversation topic circled back to your significant other? 

Truthfully, he just didn’t understand all the fuss about love. It just seemed like so much—effort. Sure, he supposed he enjoyed hanging out with Hermia. She was witty, and scathingly sarcastic but did he love her? Absolutely not. 

“He did tell me about this stupid party the Capps are hosting,” He mentioned, “Juliette invited him to sneak in, and wants us to go for backup—whatever the hell that means.” Did Romeo really think Juliette’s 75 year old grandfather would try to jump him? And Mercutio knew Tybalt well enough to know that he wouldn’t risk his family’s social status by getting into a fight in front of the entire Veronaville area. Well, not with Romeo anyways.

“So that means we’re going, right?” Benvolio said as he perked up, a bright grin on his face. Of course Benvolio wanted to go to a party, regardless of what side of town it was in. He could already hear the droning on about how it was a “good chance to create peace with the Capp family.” But Mercutio really knew that he just wanted to get drunk and flirt with whatever guys were present.

Admittedly, that sounded like a good time—but not at the Capp manor.

Mercutio rolled his eyes, shaking his head. “Do whatever you want, but I don’t have a death wish.” He narrowed his eyes as he spotted Tybalt across the library, scanning the shelves with that sour look on his face that never seemed to fade. While Tybalt wouldn’t fight Romeo in front of the entirety of Veronaville, Mercutio knew that he was fully considered “fair game” to his rival. 

The other boy tilted his head curiously, “Death wish…?” However, he seemed to quickly understand once he noticed Mercutio’s glare at Tybalt. “Oh, I see,” Benvolio teased, “You’re afraid that you’re going to get your ass kicked again.”

It was harsh, but true. Mercutio was simply outclassed by Tybalt, with his stupid rugby experience and stupid regular fitness training! And yet, Mercutio still tried to get the best of him. He even fought dirty most of the time, and still lost. One day though—surely, one day he’d win though.

“He’s not that bad really,” Benvolio insisted, “He’s always been pretty cool to me.” The boy looked back at Tybalt, lifting a hand for a wave. “Hi, Tybalt!” He greeted happily, Mercutio watching as the red-headed boy lifted his eyes from his book. 

“Benvolio,” Tybalt said with a small nod, quickly returning to look back at the bookcase.

Surely it wasn’t that easy, right? Mercutio sighed, taking a deep breath in. “Tybal—“ He began, but before he could even finish speaking the other boy’s name, he was greeted with Tybalt turning around, and a middle finger that said what words couldn’t. God, what a…

“Fucking asshole,” Mercutio murmured under his breath. Benvolio tried to hold back his laughter, but clearly to no avail. He really wasn’t sure why he thought that would work, Tybalt didn’t like him even looking in his general direction. 

“Okay, obviously there’s more to it than just saying hi,” Benvolio teased, “I’m just saying, I’ve never messed with him before so he doesn’t hate me—“ He smirked over at Mercutio, “Even though I hang out with you like 99% of the time.”

“But I don’t mess with him!” Mercutio defended with a frown, crossing his arms. “…that much,” He quickly added, Benvolio clearly seeing through his false claim. “Okay, but obviously it doesn’t warrant him being a total dick all the time!”

“You put a glitter bomb in his locker, dude,” Benvolio pointed out. 

“It was an early birthday surprise!” Mercutio retorted. The look on his face was certainly priceless as well. 

“I saw him picking glitter out of his stuff for weeks after that,” He added with a small sigh, “Look—if you keep poking the bear, obviously the bear’s going to eventually start solely targeting you.” 

Mercutio glared over to Tybalt, his nose now in a book as he sat across the room. “He’s more like a cat,” He mumbled, “A rabid, feral cat.” While Benvolio was probably right that Tybalt would leave him alone if Mercutio stopped provoking him…

Where was the fun in that?
