Book 55 of 2021. A chunky little thing of beauty that has been on my TBR since 2018, when I read the first book in this duology, Those Days during Pujo. Baba kindly bought me this book last month, as a reward for giving him a haircut. 😁 I started reading this on Nobo Borsho and have been savouring it slowly. I am only 550 pages in, I have more than 300 odd pages more to go. Its been my companion while I was sick, I have read it in bursts and fits and have really enjoyed being in the company of Rabindranath Tagore, Swami Vivekananda, Noti Binodini, Ramkrishna Paramhans and many other notable Bengali stalwarts. Six Things Sunday/// 1. I read this gorgeous book during Durga Pujo. The plot and the characters and the relationships in this book were just fantastic. I have also seen the movie version of this book and it is lovely too. 2. When I was a little girl and imagined my life as a gown up lady, I pictured myself wearing high heels alllllll the time and feather boas would be my accessory of choice and my bedroom would have chiffon curtains and pink lights!!! I guess I wanted to grow up and be Bollywood vamp. I am glad my style sensibility is poles apart from my childhood version!!! 3. I am a major klutz. I once spilled 6 cups of coffee at once! And I have sprained my leg badly twice. The last time I was limping for three months! I fall off my bed, slip off stairs and bump into things. 😮 4. I haven't seen a movie in a movie hall in over a year and a half and I am OK with it. 5. It's hard being an introvert in a family of extroverts. My parents are overly social and for years I've been taken to weddings, parties and family functions! I hated it. Now they mostly let me be! 6. I think it's mighty easy to complain and crib about the things we don't have and all that is wrong with our lives.
