“I’m not jealous..”

While getting ready for tonight’s concert, Ellie was hanging all over you, peppering your neck with kisses, grabbing your waist, and staring at you with lust filled eyes while you got dressed. You could tell that her need was getting the better of her and it was frustrating her because no matter what she did, you wouldn’t give into her smooth one liners or the lingering touches. Eventually, she groaned and left the apartment.
You couldn’t help but giggle at how mad Ellie looked, you would feel bad right now if it weren’t for her doing the same thing to you countless times.
You smiled a little as you walked into the bar, smoke filling your nostrils and the sound of glasses clinking, it was a familiar feeling now, almost like you came home, it was nice. You made your way to the back of the bar where the rest of your band was, Manny was plucking at his guitar strings and making sure each string was in the right note while he talked to Owen about how he may or may not have banged Owen’s ex-girl’s brother’s dog’s groomer’s daughter’s pre-school teacher.
“Hey,” you muttered, the cigarette on your lips dangling by the side of your mouth as you got a cup of water ready.
“Oh, hey,” Abby muttered, her eyes lingering on you for a moment before turning to Manny and hitting him in the chest with his drumsticks, making you giggle. Sure, you didn’t have as much history with these guys as you did in your last band but, they were starting to feel like home.
“So, let’s go over the set list again,” Abby pulls out a paper with some sloppy handwriting on it, must be Owens, “So first..”
⊹₊ ˚‧︵‿₊୨୧₊‿︵‧ ˚ ₊⊹
Finally, the concert was beginning, you took a few deep breaths, sucking in the familiar taste of smoke and washing it down with some ice cold water. The band had gained some attention since they brought you on, even some familiar faces from your old band’s crowds were seen in the bar. Not to mention, Ellie’s band mates were here which meant a few of their ‘groupies’ were also here.
“Hey, how’s everyone doin’ tonight?” Manny yelled into his mic, eliciting more than a few cheers from the girls in the crowd, no doubt his own groupies. You had to thank Manny, actually, if he didn’t get around like an un-neutered dog, you might not have a crowd this big.
You take a step closer to the mic, wrapping your hand around the cold metal, “So the first song we’ll be singin’ t’night is a newish song, ‘s called ‘May Your Survival be Long,’ or alternatively, ‘May your Death be Swift.’”
The drums began, you could feel the beat of them rushing through you, it almost felt like your heartbeat was synchronized with them, then the guitar began, matching the blood coursing through your veins, finally, it was your cue to begin.
The song was actually a lot more popular than you thought it’d be, not that you ever doubted your song writing abilities.
Even though the crowd cheered you on and the drums made your brain go fuzzy, you couldn’t help but think about Ellie. You could feel her eyes on you but couldn’t see her through the stagelights and smoke filled room but you knew, those green eyes were watching your every move. Hell, you felt like YOU were the one being hunted by a wolf, pretty ironic right?
The concert came to an end, you gargled salt water, Abby greeted some girls in the crowd, Owen was packing up the tech equipment, and Manny was leaning against the stage while accepting a free drink from a very pretty girl. Your eyes went back to Abby, her strong arms easily being able to put her drums back in their cases.
“Good set,” you turn to see Jesse, “That song, uh, ‘May Your Death be Long’ ain’t half bad, now maybe if you—.”
You scoff, “Oh, shut it,’ Jesse feigns being offended and chuckles.
“Nah but seriously, that was really good, very, mm, Foo Fightersish I really..”
Jesse continued while your eyes scanned the bars, “Hey, the rest of your band here?”
“What? Oh, Dina was here but she left early, said she felt sick. Didn’t even stay for a drink and Ellie’s over there but she’s been out of it all night, dunno why.”
You hum, your eyes immediately darting to scan the bar and there she was, leaning against it while sipping on what looked like whiskey while a girl was practically throwing herself at her. Ellie glances at you and smirks before downing her drink and pulling the chatty girl in for a kiss, shutting her up. You roll your eyes and walk towards the restroom, you could feel the sweat from earlier still on your face, only now it was dry and made you feel gross.
Looking in the mirror, your mascara is a little smeared and your eyeliner almost completely off, then you splash the cold water over your face. Refreshing, the icy water waking you up and making you forget all about the redhead but then, you feel strong hands wrap around your waist.
“You looked pretty good up there,” a raspy, smooth voice whispers against your ear.
You reach for a paper towel and wipe your face before pushing the hands off your waist, “Yeah? I did didn’t I, well, I at least looked good enough for you to be hangin’ all over some girl, right?” You scoff.
“Ohh, someone’s jealous,” Ellie smirks.
“I’m not jealous,” you trail off, you were jealous and it was getting harder to hide. You were never to fond of sharing but you knew that Ellie wasn’t yours, even after all the times you’ve hooked up.
“Mhm and my eyes aren’t green,” she laughs, “Just admit it, you’re jealous,” her hands rub against your sides and her neck is buried in your neck.
You turned around, wrapping your arms around her slim neck, skilfully reeling her in, bringing her body closer to yours. The heat warming you up, almost like you had been drinking, Ellie’s chest pressed firmly against yours, her lips trailing down from your neck to your collarbones.
“See? Knew you wanted this too,” Ellie’s big mouth says, making your mind fill with frustration, god, she really just wouldn’t shut up, huh?
You’ve had it, you wrap your hands around her waist and push her up against the sink, her eyes filled with surprise but a small smirk still playing on her pretty pink lips, taunting you.
You shove your hand past her belt and into her jeans, fuck, “Aww, so wet f’me, pretty girl?”
Ellie’s face erupts into a blush, you can tell she’s never been treated like this before, “N-no..”
“Aw, don’t lie to me,” you smile against her neck, she’s trying her best to bite back her whimpers as your masterful fingers work at her clit, making her legs tremble a little, she’s really sensitive tonight.
“‘M not, fuck,” she accidentally lets out a pretty loud moan, the blaring music outside covering it, “Y/n, ‘s not do this here, w-what if someone sees?”
Her eyes dart to the unlocked door, “Ha, what’s wrong Williams, scared someone’s see the big bad bassist meltin’ under my touch,” you emphasize your sentence by nudging her clit with your knuckle as you make your way to her pretty hole.
She whimpers and her thighs shut around your hand, “N-no..”
“Good girl,” you whisper into her ear as your fingers make their way into her sopping wet hole, making her bite into your neck and whimper.
“Y/n, s’ too much,” she whimpers, her arms wrapping themselves around your neck, her body’s betraying her body, you can feel how her greedy hole is sucking your fingers in, she’s been looking forward to this all night, you’re the one smirking now, “Yeah? I can feel how bad you’ve wanted this.. so fuckin’ greedy,” you giggle.
Ellie’s face is now red, “Fuck you.”
The smirk is wiped off your face as your free hand wraps itself around her pretty long neck as the tips of your fingers press into the side of her neck, being careful of not crushing her throat, “Wanna say that again?”
Ellie clenches around your fingers at the feeling of you squeezing, “N-no, ‘m sorry.”
You smile, “Hm, good girl,” you begin to pump your fingers in and out of her pussy, she’s moaning like a whore now, forgetting all about her ‘big bad bassist’ persona and letting herself melt into your touch, “You deserve a treat, don’t ya think, Els?”
She nods feverishly, you peck her on the cheek and sit her up on the sink, “Take your pants off f’me,” she nods and hurriedly takes her pants off, almost forgetting to take off her belt.
You get on your knees and gently spread her legs, her pretty green eyes boring into yours, pleading for you to touch her. Instead of going straight for her pretty cunt, you gently kiss the inside of her thighs, slowly making your way up.
Ellie grumbles and wraps her hands into your hair, she tries to pull your head closer to her neglected pussy.
“Uh uh,” you shake your head, “Not yet, remember all the times you teased me, hm? This is what you get.”
Ellie whimpers like a dog that just kicked, “‘M sorry, jus-just need you.”
You giggle, enjoying how pathetic she’s acting, “Maybe if you beg, I’ll be more generous.”
Ellie’s eyes are conflicted, then suddenly, they are filled with lust, “P-please! I’ll do anything, please, jus wanna feel good.”
You stand up, your finger lifting her chin up so her eyes would meet yours, “Okay, but if I do this, you gotta do somethin’ f’me, alright?”
She smiles and nods, “Y-yeah, of course, anythin—.”
Before she could finish her sentence, you were already on your knees, pumping your fingers back into her greedy hole and your tongue was working at her clit.
Ellie covers her mouth, her legs wrapping themself around her head, locking you in place, “S’good.”
Ellie taste so sweet, it’s making your own cunt needy so your hands work their way into your panties and rub circles against your needy clit, your whimpers vibrating against Ellie’s, causing her to arch her back and pull your head in closer to her, then, before you knew it.. your face was covered in her slick and her legs had gone slack.
“That good, huh,” you stand up and smirk at her.
“S-shut up,” she rolls her eyes and gets off the sink, pulling her pants up and buckling her belt.
“H-hey, not so fast, Williams, you still owe me,” she smirks as you pull he in by her belt, her lips about to meet yours when you’re interrupted.
“Hey, Y/n—,” your eyes dart to the door, oh shit, “ W-what the fuck?”
It’s Abby and, shit, she looks pissed. She shuts the door and makes her way to Ellie who’s smirking and leaning against a stall, “Of course, Williams, of course, you’d do something like this.”
Ellie smirks and looks at the blonde, “Jealous, Anderson, huh? Some leader you are, can’t even keep your lead singer away from me.”
Abby’s eyes look like they’re only seeing red, she’s about to swing, her fist is clenched, and one foot drawn back to take one forward.
You step in front of her before she can do anything rash, your hands on her bicep, Ellie’s eyes narrow in on your hands, “Come on, Abs, just go.”
Abby scoffs when she looks at you, “God, you can’t be this fuckin’ stupid, Y/n, she’s using you, not like that’d be the first time.”
Ellie scoffs, what did that mean? But before she could say anything, you blurt out, “No, she’s not, Abs, we’re just hooking up,” you blush.
“Mhm, bet you are ‘just hooking up’,” she scoffs, obviously, she doesn’t believe you.
“We are!” you yell, as Abby leaves the bathroom but not before turning around and saying, “We’ll talk about this later,” her blue eyes dart towards Ellie who’s still smirking.
The door shuts, if it weren’t for they music still pumping out there, the bathroom would’ve been dead silent, then, Ellie’s laugh echoes throughout the room.
“Fuck, did you see her face?” she laughs, her arm wrapping around you, “Fuck, that was hilarious!”
You don’t join in her laughter, you shrug yourself out from underneath her arm.
“What’s wrong, don’t tell me what she said got to you?” Ellie’s voice is still lingering with laughter.
“What she said, what does that mean? ‘Not like that’d be the first time.’”
Ellie’s smile falters, “I-It’s nothin’, she’s just tryin’ to get to you,” her hands wrap around your waist as she try’s to pull you in.
You push her off, “Didn’t sound like nothing?”
She groans and leans against the sink, “Fuck, you’re acting like we aren’t ‘just hooking up,’ why would you give a fuck about my past, huh? ‘Sides if you’re so worried, why don’t you ask your drummer?” She rolls her eyes.
“Maybe, I will,” and with that you leave the bathroom and look for Abby.

Eddie fucking hated driving. He didn’t like his life being at the mercy of the other idiots on the road and he certainly didn’t like having to follow all of the meaningless rules. If he wanted to speed or go through a stop sign with no one around, he’d damn well please, thank you very much.
He also didn’t like being trapped doing one thing for any period of time. It was hard for him to keep his eyes on the road and not pick at the skin on his fingers or fiddle with his rings. He wanted to get places without having to sit still and watch all the other idiots in cars on the way.
That’s why he fell in love with Steve the first time they went on a ride. Steve loved driving and the feeling of being free that came with it.
While Eddie didn’t like being the driver, he really did like being the passenger princess. He could hold Steve’s hand and fiddle with his fingers while he drove. He could air guitar and drumstick to Metallica even as Steve kept trying to turn the volume down. Best yet, he could road rage and flip people off when they tried to cut the Beemer off in traffic.
Dating Steve came with many benefits but the fact that he didn’t mind driving was the best by far (second only to the man’s kisses).

Rockstar!Sirius Black has me in a chokehold. I’m obsessed with my wife @finalgirllx and thankful for the work she put in for me for these two edits and I hope everyone is pulling their hair out at them as much as me.
This little blurb is for my second wife @thatdammchickennugget ‘s hogmarch challenge.
Prompt: fire whiskey / are you speaking parseltongue or am I really that drunk
Warnings: fluff; mentions of bar/drinking;
You don’t really know how you got here. At this party that is. One day your muggle friend is begging you to come to a concert with her. Two weeks later she has you sleeping on a side-walk waiting to get in. “I really want to get barricade,” she says. And you love her so you comply. When you manage to get it, you’re just as shocked as she is. Arms crossed on the bar, elbows hanging over the barricade as music plays from the speakers while everyone waits for the band to appear.
You assume it’s a four person group; you see a drum set, a keyboard, a guitar with a mic stand and a bass guitar. You’re wracking your brain for the name of the band, your friends mentioned it probably a million times in the last hour alone but you’ve been so focused on not a Avada-ing any of the other millions of girls around who seem to want to keep pushing against your back to get closer to whoever this band seems to be.
It’s when the curtain falls that your heart nearly stops. It had to be a coincidence, right? The fact that this band happens to have the same name as the infamous group of pranking boys from your school years. But all your nervous fears are confirmed when they start strolling on to the stage, you recognize the others in an instant, but the one that catches your eye most intensely slings the guitar over his shoulder, a shit eating smirk gracing his lips as his tucks his hair behind his ear.
“Blimey, what a turn out, yeah lads?” The guitarist turns slightly where he stands, glancing at his friends behind him who are all nodding and shouting, pumping their fists in the air with the screams of fans in front of them. The guitarist turns back towards the crowd, eyes scanning over the sea of people until they come to the front and lock with yours. Your friend besides you starts shaking with giddy excitement as he speaks his next words into the mic, her arm hooking with yours. But you can’t tear your eyes away from his piercing gaze, “In case any of you’ve forgotten, we’re The Marauders and-”
Being barricade had its benefits because you heard the drummer shout, “Oi, Pads, get on with it, will ya, let’s give em a show, yeah?” Sirius laughs into the mic and your thrust back to being seventeen and pining after the long haired boy at the back of your advanced potions class. “Alright, Prongs, don’t lose yer head, mate. Who’s ready to fucking rock out?” Sirius strummed his guitar and the crowd erupted in cheers and screams. The entire concert was a bit of a blur. One because you didn’t know any of their songs, but two because it seemed like any time Sirius looked towards the front of the crowd, he looked right at you, and your friends and the girls surrounding you seemed to lose their mind at the concept.
When the concert finally ended you watched your old classmates take in the cheers and praise. James threw both his drumsticks into the crowd, Remus tossed a few picks as well. Reggie stepped from behind the keyboard, taking his setlist with him and passing it to the security guard to give to a random girl. Sirius, however, seemed to have a different plan. The girls around you seemed to be panting with anticipation as Sirius took a marker from a stage hand and laid down on his stomach, pulling the cap from the marker with his teeth before writing on his setlist on the ground. Capping the pen, he pulled the setlist off the ground slowly, folding the tape over the edges before folding the setlist into fours.
What really made everyone around you go into a frenzy was Sirius jumping down from the stage and walking straight up to you at barricade and holding the paper towards you with a smile. “Here,” Sirius grabbed your wrist, placing the folded setlist into your hand, “open it when you leave the venue. Was nice seeing you again, love. S’been too long since the last time.” Sirius then turned his attention to the people around you, shaking hands and signing a few autographs but it all sounded muffled to yours ears as it seemed like all the blood was rushing to your head as you were rushing out of the crowd, you friend close behind.
“Uhm, hello? Are you gonna tell me what the fuck that was back there?” You were walking as fast as you could without sprinting, your friend hot on your heels. “Y/n/n!” You turned abruptly to face her, her stopping roughly in her tracks. “What!” You were nearly screaming before taking a deep breath, “I’m sorry, erm, I’m sorry. I just…I haven’t seen those guys in a long time and it was just a little…overwhelming.” Your friend nodded, the grin never leaving her face, “How do you even know them, can we open the letter now, what does it say?”
You rolled your eyes, grabbing the note from your pocket. Unfolding it you finally answered her questions, “We went to school together, believe it or not they were very popular and I was…well…not. I had a few classes with the others and well Sirius was…friends with some of my friends, let’s say. Honestly I didn’t even expect him to recognize me once I realized they were the band we were seeing and…” your thoughts and words seem to die on your lips as your eyes scanned the setlist in your hands, Sirius’s sloppy scrawl strewn across in black marker. Your friend raised her eyebrows impatiently, turning your hands towards her so she could see what had you at such a loss, a gasp leaving her as she did so. “Is that a fucking address…”
So maybe you did know how you got to this party, your friend begging and pleading until you agreed to go. “It’s only polite, he did invite you after all,” she had said. You knew her agenda was more so to gain an opportunity to see the boys up close, so you didn’t argue when as soon as you entered the private bar she immediately went on the hunt. You, on the other hand, went straight for a drink, or two, or four. You were working on yet another firewhiskey when a rough voice spoke your last name from behind you. Turning around, you attempted to control your blush, “Black. Long time no see.” You did your best to keep your tone casual, like your heart wasn’t beating out of your chest.
Per expected Sirius was nothing but charming and smooth, “I didn’t expect to see a friend in the crowd tonight, you caught me slightly off guard I have to admit.” You clasped onto your drink with both hands, hoping the coolness of the glass would offset the heat that was rapidly spreading through your body, “You consider us friends? I didn’t even think you’d recognize me.” Sirius’s gaze turned what you could only describe as tender, “I would’ve failed Advanced Charms if you hadn’t put up with me for two whole terms. If spending endless weeks in the library didn’t make us friends, what then developed between us, nothing?”
No, just my raging school girl crush on you is all. You shook your head, mouth opening and slightly stammering, no explanation coming to mind. “Pads, you’re not scaring y/n/n away are you? Gonna make us not see her for another three years again?” Sirius huffed a slightly annoyed breath, “Yeah, Moony, the reason we haven’t seen her is strictly my fault, not that our band took off or anything.” Sirius jabs a thumb over his shoulder as he glances back at you as if to say, the nerve of this guy. “She didn’t even think I’d recognize her, or considered us friends! Can you believe that?”
The taller boy greeted you with a warm and familiar smile, the scar stretching over his top lip thinning with the action, “Well I certainly don’t blame her for the latter. But we’re still friends, aren’t we, dove?” Remus took a step forward, wrapping you in a tight and friendly embrace. “Hi, Rem,” you mumbled just loud enough over the bar music. Remus was gruffly pulled away from you to reveal a pouting face with glasses and a mop of curly hair, “Not consider us friends? Did seven agonizing years of potions together mean absolutely nothing to you?”
You couldn’t help but roll your eyes at the dramatics, “Hi, Jamie. ‘ve missed you.” You open your arms for a hug and are quickly embraced in a bear-like squeeze, “Missed you too shortcake. Been too long.” A second body joins your hug from behind, “Yeah, it’s been too long.” James pushes him off before letting you go, “Whydya have to do that Reg, you ambushed my hug.” Regulus opens his mouth to argue when a throat clearing catches all of your guys' attention. You turn to see your friend clearly doing her best not to freak out at the scene before her. You turn the the boys, pushing your friend slightly in front of you, “Guys this is my friend Órlaith. She brought me to your show. Big fan, her. Órlaith, this is Reg, Jamie, Rem and Sirius.”
The four boys all flashed award winning smiles while your friend managed a meek ‘hi’ and a slight wave. “So you didn’t just have classes with them, you were friends with the fucking Marauders,” Órlaith wacked your arm, causing James and Regulus to burst out in laughter. Remus leaned in close to your friend, a hand shielding one side of his mouth while pointing a thumb back at James, “Y/n/n, here actually helped make sure this one graduated on time.” James crossed his arms in mock offense, “Is he talking shite love? Moony, don’t fill her head with lies we’ve only just met.”
Sirius slung his arm over her shoulder, whispering in her ear, “Actually, I’d like to catch up with Y/l/n. You mind if I steal her for a moment? Think you can watch these gits, keep them in line for me while I’m away?” She gave a timid nod and Sirius flashed her his knee weakening grin. Remus shot Sirius a knowing look, one you completely missed as you were too busy focusing on Sirius lacing his fingers in yours and dragging you towards a roped off section of the bar. You tried to will your palm to not be clammy as you downed the last of your drink, setting the glass on a passing table. As Sirius led you up the few steps and past the velvet rope he settled you both down at a table in the corner.
With a wave of his wrist the music and sound of the crowd disappeared. “See? A perfect silencing charm. Wouldn’t have been able to do that without your help in years past, friend,” Sirius emphasized the last word, wiggling his eyebrows. You laughed slightly, eyes rolling, “Yes, I’m very proud of you. However, that hasn’t stopped the gaggle of girls staring at us.” You motioned toward at least four women you could see clearly shooting daggers your way at a private talk with the leading man. Sirius shrugged his shoulders, eyes never leaving your direction, “I don’t care about them, my focus is on you.”
Your face seemed to stay in a permanent state of blush with Sirius’s full attention solely on you. “Now tell me, sweetheart. Did you really not consider us friends all those years? I mean, I thought we were pretty close. If I recall we’ve drunkenly fallen asleep on a few couches and floors together. Who else does that besides very good friends?” You nervously summon a drink before you, taking the glass and trying to hide half your face behind it while you take a long gulp. Your eyes scan over Sirius’s face, taking in the changes, or lack thereof, from the last time you saw him.
He still has that same boyish charm, that grin the tends to sneak onto his face when he knows he’s being charming. His hair is still gorgeous, long and flowing, though maybe slightly greasier than your school years, but you’re sure that’s part of his rockstar aesthetic. His forearms now adorn multiple tattoos and from what you know of Sirius there’s probably more hidden elsewhere. He had a few more piercings now, and his jawline was more refined now that he was no longer a teenager, but what remained exactly the same was always your favorite part of him; his eyes.
Sirius always had the most captivating eyes; a deep russet brown that seemed to change with his mood and whether he was telling the truth or not. Either that or you had just spent so much time staring at him you began to figure out his tells without anyone else realizing. “You’re telling the truth, you really considered us good friends didn’t you?” Sirius laughed lightly, looking down at his lap before meeting your eyes once more, “Yes, I’m telling the truth.” You shook your head, “That wasn’t a question, it was a statement, I can tell when you’re lying. I just can’t believe you’re being serious.”
“Well I’m always Sirius, darling.” You rolled your eyes at his favorite pun, going to bring your drink back to your lips. Sirius, however, had other plans, stealing to glass from your hands and downing the rest himself. You opened your mouth to scold him but he got his words out first, “How can you – blimey, love no mixer really? Merlin’s fucking beard – how can you tell when I’m lying? I like to think I’m quite subtle at hiding the truth.” You sat up a bit straighter, tucking your legs underneath you on the couch. Normally you would never admit anything, especially not to Sirius himself, but your filter seemed to be turned off thanks to the many firewhiskey’s now running through your system.
You leaned your elbow on the back of the couch, facing Sirius now with your head resting against your fist, “Your eyes turn a shade or two darker when you’re lying. Normally they’re just this beautiful deep brown color that looks like the sun is shining directly on them, even when you’re inside and there’s not even a window in sight. But when you’re lying it’s like all the mischief you’ve got cooking in your brain is overheating and it deepens the color.” If you weren’t feeling so tipsy you probably would’ve noticed the deep blush that spread over Sirius’s cheeks. But being himself he couldn’t let you stop there, “What else have you seemed to notice over the years, huh sweet girl?”
Subconsciously you knew you’d regret it in the morning, but your ability to stop your mouth from rambling seemed to be null. “You tend to chew on your top lip when you’re concentrating, not the entire thing, just one of the corners. You did it tonight during your guitar solo, which was actually pretty fantastic. I'm very proud of you, Siri. And I only noticed you do that because it’s different from other people, usually people bite their bottom lip, but you bite your top,” Sirius touched his top lip with his fingertips as you continued, “And I know when you’re laughing just to be polite and when you’re laughing for real because your fake laugh is this polite little chuckle where you nod your head to make the other person think you’re really paying attention, but your real laugh is so much better. You throw your head back, and your hair falls from your face and it’s real hearty and deep and your smile stays bright for moments afterwards.” You let out a long sigh, your eyes keeping this distance look to them like you were recalling an exact moment for each aspect you just described. “Merlin, I was just so in…I just had the biggest crush on you back then.”
Sirius blinked a few times in disbelief, shaking his head and trying to clear his thoughts because there was definitely no way he heard what he just thought he heard, “I’m sorry, love. Are you speaking parseltongue or am I really that drunk?” You scoffed slightly, “Excuse me?” Sirius quickly held his hands up in defense, “No, no! I just meant that – oh for Godric’s sake, I’m gonna muck this up I just know it–” You grabbed his wrists, effectively stopping his spiraling tangent, “Sirius!” He looked up at you, eyes meeting yours and just like you said, they looked like the sun was hitting them directly despite being in the back corner of a dark bar, “I never needed help with charms.”
Your face contorted in confusion, “Sorry, erm, what?” Sirius closed his eyes, taking a deep breath. He opened his eyes once more, making sure you were looking back at him so you would see he was telling the truth, “I never needed help with charms, I would fuck up spells on purpose because I wanted to spend more time with you.” You shook your head, “But Remus said…”
“I lied to Moony,” Sirius cut you off, “Well, I tried to lie to him at first. I told him I was failing and I asked him to ask you to be my tutor but the bloody git knows everything, saying shit like ‘I know you’re at the top of our class Sirius meh meh meh’, so I asked him to lie for me.” You shook your head, “Why would you do that?” Sirius placed his hands on either side of your face, your hands still holding his wrists, “Because I had an insanely huge crush on you that I kept trying to deny and Moony could see it a mile away. I’m surprised you missed it with everything else you seemed to notice.” You smiled at him, a real genuine relaxed smile, then he spoke again, “Past tense probably isn’t the right usage. After seeing you tonight, I can humbly admit that all those feelings are very much still here. You believe me, don’t you?”
Sirius tilted your head up so you were looking directly at him. He widened his eyes dramatically, staring at you intensely and causing you to giggle. You squinted your eyes at him briefly, making it look like you were really studying him, “Hmm..clear as day. Yes, Siri, I believe you.” Sirius let out a long breath, “Thank merlin, because I’ve been dying to do this since I was on stage.” Sirius’s lips met yours with a gentle fervent, intensifying only when you fisted the front of his t-shirt, pulling him harder into you. You pulled apart only when you were short of breath, both panting heavily. “Remus is going to lose his mind,” Sirius chuckled, grin never leaving his face. You glanced over his shoulder, flicking your wrist and breaking the silencing charm only to be met with cheers and whistles so loud they floated over the rustle of the bar, “I think he already has, they all have.” Sirius turned, seeing his friends and bandmates making their way over. He turned back to you, a cheeky grin on his lips, “Okay, kiss me again, just once more before they get here. Once they do I just know James is gonna talk your ear off about the whole thing.” You giggled, biting your bottom lip before grasping the back of his neck, pulling his lips towards yours once more.

John, Paul & the Shangri-Las
Whatever happened to The life that we once knew?
It's fairly well known that these lines from the bridge of 'Free as a Bird' are adapted from the lyric of 'Remember (Walkin' in the Sand)', written & produced by Shadow Morton and performed by the Shangri-Las. Where the Beatles, in lyrics begun but not completed by John, call up shared memories, Mary Weiss sang of "the boy that I once knew". That John reused these lines to voice his own preoccupation with an unresolved past adds much tenderness to 'Free as a Bird'. Being a Shangs fan, there are a couple of other connections that I just wanted to write about.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The Shangs looking dangerous.
Today I love you more than yesterday
'I Know (I Know)' from Mind Games (1973).
Although the melodies are completely different, the Shangri-Las song 'Love You More Than Yesterday' seems to find an echo in the most emotive lines in the bridge of John Lennon's 'I Know (I Know)'. The song was a B-side to their 1966 spoken-word ballad 'Past, Present & Future' (which, incidentally, took Beethoven's 'Moonlight Sonata' as its theme, like the Beatles' song 'Because' after it). Quite rightly the nod to 'Yesterday' is what strikes us most, but I'm not at all sure that the similarity to the Shangri-Las title is pure coincidence. We saw in Get Back how easily song titles and lyrics were used by John and Paul in the current of their talk.
It proved difficult to find John speaking about the Shangri-Las, despite the Beatles' enjoyment of records by other girl groups like the Shirelles, and they're not among the artists on John's famous 40-disc mobile juke box that he brought when the Beatles went out on tour. (Only one woman, Fontella Bass, appears among the discs. The juke box doesn't even include 'Angel Baby' by Rosie and the Originals, whose fresh, unrefined first-love sentimentality appealed to him so much he covered it.) It's a little easier to find something from Paul on the subject however.

Mary and Betty Weiss from the Shangri-Las, photographed by Jini Dellaccio in 1966 (left: screenshot by @ohhellno on tumblr*; right, my screenshot, both from the documentary Her Aim is True, about the photographer).
Of course he calls out "Shangri-Las versus The Village People!" at the beginning of 'Mr. H. Atom'. But glorious as that is, perhaps more informative are the occasions where Paul has spoken of his enjoyment of the Shangri-Las' style, and the way he appreciated Linda's voice in this mode.
If she’s a singer, she’s very much a Shangri-Las type singer; I don’t think any of them could get into opera, but I prefer them to opera. Linda wouldn’t put herself up as a great vocalist, but she’s got a great style. I think anyway.
'McCartney Gets Hungry Again', Musician, Feb. 1988
Tumblr media
I've always maintained that she has a kind of Shangri-Las type of appeal.
'Can Paul McCartney Get Back?' Rolling Stone, June 1989
When you know how warmly Paul regarded their style, you can't miss the similarity of Linda's spoken intro and closing of 'Wide Prairie' ("I was in Paris, waiting for a flight..."), answered by Paul, to the chat in Shangri-Las songs like 'Give Him a Great Big Kiss', where the other girls ask Mary Weiss whether her guy is tall ("Well, I gotta look up!") or if he's a good dancer.
Did they meet?
On the 20th September 1964, the Shangri-Las performed on the same bill as the Beatles, at a benefit concert in New York for a cerebral palsy charity. Mary Weiss explained that Mary Ann Ganser was jostled backstage as one of the Beatles sought them out:
“She turned around and it was Ringo. So that was some contact, anyway. I almost wanted her to take his drumsticks.”
'Weiss Leads Again', the New York Sun, September 2007.
This seems to be the only documented contact between the groups, although if you know of others, or further instances where John or Paul spoke about the Shangs, I'd love to hear about them. The music that the Beatles listened to has been written about extensively, and there's almost a canon of influences that's become pretty standard. Given their admiration of their performance, and seemingly in John's case, of Shadow Morton's words**, I hope for some recognition of both Lennon and McCartney's creative responses to the Shangri-Las.
(* Many thanks to @ohhellno for letting me use this great screenshot.)
(** The interest was of course mutual, as Morton produced the Beattle-ettes single 'Only Seventeen', supposedly a response to the Beatles from the girl's perspective, with hand claps and cries of "Yeah! Yeah! Yeah!" The single, by an untraced group, was released in 1964. In summer the same year his first songwriting hit, 'Remember (Walkin' in the Sand)' was the breakout success for the Shangri-Las. It was racing up the Billboard Hot 100 as the Beatles toured the States in the second half of August. By the time they had a day off in Key West, on the tenth of September, it had reached the top ten, one place below 'A Hard Day's Night'. If John or Paul tuned to a pop radio station, they'd have heard it. The song peaked at number five.)

They stepped off the bus one at a time, lining up in front of the humongous house. It was beautiful, unlike anything any of them had ever stayed in, let alone lived in.
"How in the hell did you manage to snag this place for us, Matt?"Jolly raised his eyes at their tour manager/friend, waiting for his response.
"Don't look at me," Matt insisted. "This one was all her," pointing to the quiet girl standing next to Nicholas.
She was holding his hand tightly, resting her head on his shoulder. Today, she was his. Everyone turned and looked at her, eyeing her up and down slowly. She was pretty, shorter than all of them, sweet as honey, and an amazing cook. But the one thing she had in common with all of them was that she shared each of them. No relationship, no commitment, just friendship; with benefits.
All five of them had their own day with her, giving her two days to herself. But even then, she had the option if she wanted to be with one of them. No pressure, no demands, just simple.
Nicholas squeezed her hand and placed a soft kiss on her forehead. She looked up at him, smiling, and caressed his cheek before leaving his side.
"I just got lucky, I guess," she shrugged, caressing Matt's shoulder as she walked by him.
Just her touch alone made him shiver.
Walking up to the lock box on the front door, she put in the code and retrieved the spare house key, unlocking it. The view when they walked in was breathtaking.
Tumblr media
"Alright, here's the game plan," Matt said, closing his hands together.
He was finding it hard to concentrate, watching her bend over to retrieve the sheet of biscuits from the oven. Images of his hands on her bottom last night flashed through his mind. Clearing his throat, he did his best to focus.
"The show is in two days. Tomorrow is rehearsals and crap, so that means today is free for all. I say we head out and enjoy the day since it's so beautiful. I've heard there's a lot to do here."
Everyone agreed in unison, except for her. Jolly walked over to her and caressed her back, wrapping his arm around her and pulling her into his side.
"Are you alright, Älskling?" He kissed the side of her head. "Yeah, just really tired. The non-stop moving around has caught up to me, I think." "Why don't you take it easy today then," Nicholas suggested, caressing her hair.
The gentleness of his hand on her was a healing touch to her body, making her long for more. She took his hand and kissed the moons tattooed on his fingers; her favorite of his.
"But I want to be with you all today. It's too pretty of a day to stay inside." "Baby," Noah called, and she turned around. His deep chocolate eyes stared at her, reading her inner thoughts. "We've talked about this. Take time for yourself. Your mental health and being are more important than anything else."
She nodded, giving Noah a brief smile. "Do “you” things while we're gone, things that make you happy." "And when we get back, I'll draw you up a hot bath with bubbles," Folio offered, twirling his drumstick between his fingers. "Will you join me," she asked sweetly, implying no hidden motive. "Only if you want me to," Folio answered.
She nodded, turning her attention back to her baking.
"Sounds good to you, babe?" Matt asked. "Yup. That sounds good."
She saw them off, sighing deeply the moment the front door closed.
Tumblr media
Text after text they sent her, reminding her how much they loved her and what she ment to them. She smiled at each one, thankful for their understanding and appreciation of her. The guys were her world. They meant everything to her. They deserved the same in return. That's when she had an idea.
Hidden in the inside pocket of her duffle bag were a few of her favorite sets she kept to herself. They were ones none of them had ever seen. But they would tonight.
She decided on the white one; full body see-through lace, opening in the middle between her legs for easy access. Checking herself in the mirror and spraying a few squirts of "Dream Angel," she smiled at the thought of them when they saw her.
Grabbing her baking apron and slipping it over her head, she tied it around her and went into the kitchen to finish baking the cookies she had started a little bit ago.
Tumblr media
Nicholas made a beeline through the front door for her. He was craving her after she dropped the hint to him earlier that she had something special waiting for all of them when they got home.
The kitchen was warm and dimly lit. Two stacks of cookie boxes sat on the counter, proof of her time alone.
Then his eyes found her, perched on top of the counter. She was covered by her apron, but her bare legs dangling off the edge said a lot.
"Hi" she said, softly. "Hi," Nichols replied with a smile.
The others soon followed, lining up behind and beside Nick.
"What are you doing sitting up there all pretty?" Jolly asked, raising an eyebrow.
She grinned, pulling her bottom lip between her teeth.
"Wouldn't you like to know." "Yes, I think we all would," Matt said, turning his black ball cap around.
She found Noah's eyes, holding them in a hard stare while slowly undoing the tie to the apron and pulling it off. Groans, curses, and sighs echoed off the kitchen walls the moment she revealed her secret, all the while holding Noah's stare.
He didn't hesitate. In five long steps, Noah was standing in front of her, molding his mouth to hers in a hot, desperate kiss. His hands cupped her face as she wrapped her legs around his thighs, pulling him into her.
Between her scent and what she was wearing, Noah was fighting hard not to have his way with her right then.
"I fucking want you right here, right now, Princess. I don't care who's watching."
Noah kissed the tender spot behind her ear before taking her ear lobe between his teeth.
"Then do. Take me right here, Noah," she breathed, gripping his ass tightly with her legs.
Noah groaned while quickly unzipping his zipper, letting his pants drop to the kitchen floor. All the sounds of the others behind him were drowned out by the thoughts of fucking her running through his mind.
"Spread your legs, Princess," Noah commanded, clenching his teeth and breathing hard through his nostrils.
Grinning, she parted, revealing the easy access opening of her lingerie, causing Noah to mumble incoherently. He gripped her behind her knees and pulled her down closer to the edge, and instantly entered her, falling into her as he moaned into her shoulder.
"Hard, Noah, Fuck me hard,"she whispered in his ear, running her hand up the back of his neck and into his hair as she held onto him.
Bracing himself against the counter, Noah pounded into her pussy in her moans filled the kitchen.
"Fuck, Princess, fuck I'm gonna cum!" "Then cum for me my love " she whispered.
Noah pulled out quickly and came on her thighs. The warm liquid dripped between them, instantly making her sticky.
"Holy fuck, you two!" Matt barked. "What the actual fuck!" "Sorry," Noah apologized into his arm.
She looked at Matt, beckoning him over with her finger.
"I won't fuck you infront of them," Matt stated, shaking his head and giving her a serious look.
Once Noah cleaned her off, she crawled across the counter to Matt, gripping his shoulders. She rose to her knees, pressing her breasts closer to his face.
"Okay, but that doesn't mean I won't fuck you. Let me ride you, Matty," she begged, removing his hat and running her nails across his scalp. "God," Matt groaned, lifting her off the counter and carrying her to the living room, sitting down on the floor with her in his lap.
She undid his belt and pushed him back, laying him flat on the floor. Yanking his pants down just enough to free his cock, she lined herself up with him, slipping her pussy over him like a glove.
"Jesus!" Matt cried out. "Oh god, baby."
"You like that, Matty? You like how my pussy feels sinking down on you like this, so tight, so close," she moaned, riding him through short, tight little thrusts.
"Fuck! I can feel you! What is that?"
Placing her hand on her lower abdomen as Matt fucked up into her, she could feel his tip hit her cervix, making her scream out a suppressed moan.
"Fuck Matt! That shouldn't feel as good as it does." "Yeah? Is that your spot, baby?"
Matt grabbed her hips and began pulling her back and forth on him.
"Fuck me hard baby. If we're doing this, then I want to feel your sweet little cunt cum for me."
Placing her hands flat on Matt's chest, she rode him nice and hard, grabbing his hands and placing them on her breasts as she moaned over and over until they found their release together.
Matt sat up, clinging to her and biting down on her shoulder as he poured his seed into her, panting like an animal.
"Holy shit, baby!"
He placed soft kisses over the tops of her breasts, waiting for their bodies to calm down.
"You're still on the pill, right?" "No," she said quietly.
Matt's eyes snapped up to her panic ridden.
"I'm kidding, relax. Of course I am," and she kissed his lips. "Fuck you," he cursed through a light laugh. "But you already did, Matty," she teased, caressing the side of his face.
Matt shook his head, grinning as he rose to his feet and collected himself. Nicholas stood beside him, quietly looking down at her.
"Turn around, on your knees," was all he said to her, and she willingly obeyed.
Nick got down on his knees behind her, running his hand up the middle of her back.
"I want your ass, baby," he confessed, pumping his cock to make it harder and thicker. "You'll need this," Folio offered, handing him a bottle of massage oil.
Nick was too far gone with lust to say anything. Opening the bottle, he doused her rectum with the oil, making sure to get enough on his cock. Rising to his knees after seeing they were completely alone, Nick took her by the hips and slowly slid himself inside her.
Her deep intake of breath proved it was uncomfortable at first, and her hushed moans and quiet whimpers as Nicholas rutted against her, going deeper each time made him feel in complete power and control of her. He dominated her in a way that no other could.
"God, this feels better than I imagined," he groaned, slowly pulling back before going further in. "Nicky," she moaned, lightly pushing back against him, "Nicky!" she gasped. "I'm in, baby. I'm all the way in. Just breathe," he coaxed, soothing her with his hand gently gliding over her skin. "Are you okay? Is it too much?" Nicholas asked, very concerned. The last thing he wanted to do was hurt her. "Mmmhmm, I'm good," she replied, nodding her head. "Okay. Can I move? Do you want me to?" "Yes, but slowly, please," she replied, trying to relax.
Nick started moving back and forth, slowly, unable to stay quiet from the way the inside of her ass rubbed against the ridges of his cock. Fucking her like this was an indescribable feeling.
"Fast, Nick," she demanded. "You sure?"" "Yes, please!"
Nicholas picked up his pace, unable to hide his enjoyment. His loud grunts and cruses of praise and her moans and choked back sobs filled the living room until those sobs turned into cries of pleasure.
"Shit, baby," Nicholas breathed, completely thrown over how good the feeling was. "Baby, Nicky, I'm about to cum. Don't stop, please don't stop!"
Her orgasm hit her hard, her entire body convulsing and shaking. Nicholas pulled out and spilt  his cum over her back as she collapsed onto the floor, completely spent.
"Are you okay, love?" Nick asked, completely wrecked. "Yes. I just need a minute," she said."
Nicholas was afraid he'd gone too far with her. Fixing himself, he went to the kitchen where everyone was, and got a warm cloth and some paper towels.
"You didn't hurt her, did you Nick?"
Nicholas stopped in his tracks, turning and looking at Folio.
"She said I didn't." "You used plenty of oil?" "Yes, Folio, why?"
Nicholas seemed annoyed at the questions.
"I'm just checking. That's all." "Here," Jolly said, holding his hand out. "Let me. It's my turn," eyeing Nicholas while pulling his hair up in a messy bun.
Nicholas nodded, handing the towel over.
" Älskling," Jolly called quietly, walking into the living room.
He found her still on the floor, and still awake.
"Are you alright," he whispered, kneeling down on the floor beside her.
"I am. I'm just cold," she chuckled lightly.
Jolly cleaned her off the best he could, taking a blanket from the couch and wrapping her up comfortably. He held her in his lap, coddling her and kissing her forehead.
"We don't have to if you don't want to. I understand. Today was supposed to be a day for you. What happened?"
She wiggled out of Jolly's grasp and wrapped her legs around his waist. With his back up against the couch, Jolly allowed her to undo his pants and free his semi hard cock. Sighing the moment she touched him, Jolly grabbed her hips, jerking her until she aligned with him. Slowly she sunk down on him, throwing her head back in satisfaction.
"Slow, Jolly. Go slow, please," she asked, brushing the loose hair out of his face and kissing his lips softly.
His hands found her ass, gripping it gently, even though every nerve in his body was telling him differently. She needed gentleness right now, soft and mild. Even though his intention at first was something else, Jolly had to admit this slow paced love making was more perfect than he imagined.
"Baby girl, oh fuck, baby, you're so beautiful," Jolly praised her, planting his face between her breast and kissing them between the sheer thin lace. The small slits against her nipples allowed access for his tongue to slip through, giving him the ability to nip at the pebbled flesh beneath it.
"Jolly," she whimpered, pressing on the back of his head to keep him where he was.
She fucked him harder, moaning softly enough for only him to hear, gripping his hair
"You want me to cum for you, daddy," she whispered in his ear, making him groan loudly.
"Fucking hell," Jolly said, slamming his lips into hers and kissing her, pushing her pussy hard into his cock.
"Cum for me, mama, come for your daddy," he pleaded with her, dragging his lips down her neck.
"Jolly," she moaned, gripping his shoulders and biting down on him, hard.
She clung to him the moment she came, letting the feeling sweep over her like a tidal wave, dragging her down into the deep emotions of his love.
"I love you," Jolly whispered lovingly into her hair.
"I love you, too."
And it was true. She did love him. Very much. She was in love with all of them.
Tumblr media
"There you go, nice and slow, sweetheart," Folio coaxed her, holding her hand as she climbed into the jacuzzi tub. The jets created copious amounts of bubbles within the hot water.
Sitting down and giving herself time to adjust to the temperature of the water, she rested against Folio's chest, breathing easily.
"You okay?"
The warm water from the sponge he squeezed over her shoulders was soothing.
"Mmmhmm, I'm okay," she said sleepily.
"You know you didn't have to do all of that for us, right?" Folio questioned, kissing the side of her temple.
She gathered his hands up and pulled his arms around her.
"I know I didn't. But you guys kept sending me the sweetest texts and the way you insisted I take today for me made my heart so happy. I just had to show you how much I appreciated and loved all of it; all of you," she stated.
"We all love you a lot too," Folio assured her honestly. "Some of us more than others."
She smiled to herself, tightening her grip on him. She wanted Folio as close to her as possible.
"You make me the happiest, Nick," she confessed weakly, almost as if what she was saying was a sin. But Nick already knew the truth; he'd know for a while now.
"I know. I can tell. It's our little secret though, yeah," he stated, kissing the side of her face.
"Yeah, our little secret," she agreed, handing Folio the scrubby with soap.

Moringa Capsules: A Natural Solution for Chronic Inflammation
Tumblr media
What is Chronic Inflammation?
Chronic inflammation is a silent but potent force affecting millions of people worldwide. It differs from acute inflammation, which is your body’s natural response to infection or injury. Chronic inflammation, however, persists over time, and when left unchecked, it can contribute to a range of health problems. Conditions like arthritis, heart disease, diabetes, autoimmune disorders, and even some cancers are linked to this ongoing inflammatory response.
If you’re struggling with these conditions, you might feel like inflammation is a constant challenge. While there are medical treatments available, many people are turning to natural solutions for relief. One such solution is moringa, a plant that has been used for centuries to combat inflammation. In this blog, we’ll explore how moringa capsules, such as those offered by Pura Vida, can be a natural and effective option for fighting chronic inflammation.
Introduction to Moringa
Moringa, scientifically known as Moringa oleifera, is often referred to as the “miracle tree” or the “drumstick tree” due to its exceptional nutritional profile and medicinal properties. Native to parts of Africa and Asia, it has been used for centuries to treat a variety of ailments, from sore throats to digestive issues. Today, moringa is available in various supplement forms, including capsules, powders, and teas.
Moringa’s ability to support overall health, particularly its anti-inflammatory effects, is a reason why it’s becoming a staple in many wellness routines. Pura Vida’s Moringa Capsules are a convenient way to tap into the plant’s powerful health benefits. Let’s dive into the science behind moringa and how it can help manage chronic inflammation.
What is Moringa and its Nutritional Profile?
Origin of Moringa
Moringa has been valued in cultures around the world for centuries, particularly in Africa and Asia. Traditionally, almost every part of the moringa tree—its roots, bark, leaves, flowers, and seeds—has been used for food and medicine. In fact, moringa’s leaves are packed with nutrients that contribute to its powerful anti-inflammatory effects.
One of the reasons moringa is considered a superfood is because of its dense concentration of essential vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. The leaves of the moringa tree, which are typically consumed as a powder or in capsules, are especially rich in:
Vitamin C – An antioxidant that helps protect the body from oxidative stress.
Vitamin A – Supports immune function and skin health.
Iron – Essential for blood health and energy production.
Calcium – Important for bone health.
Potassium – Helps with fluid balance and nerve function.
In addition to these vitamins and minerals, moringa also contains bioactive compounds such as flavonoids and polyphenols, which are particularly known for their anti-inflammatory properties.
Key Active Components for Inflammation
Moringa’s anti-inflammatory properties are attributed to its rich array of bioactive compounds, which work synergistically to reduce inflammation in the body. Some of the key components that contribute to moringa’s powerful anti-inflammatory effects include:
Flavonoids: These potent antioxidants help neutralize free radicals, highly reactive molecules that cause oxidative damage and inflammation in cells. By combatting free radicals, flavonoids help reduce chronic inflammation, which is often linked to conditions like arthritis and other inflammatory diseases.
Polyphenols: These compounds modulate the body’s inflammatory response by inhibiting the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines, proteins that trigger inflammation. By reducing cytokine production, polyphenols help lower inflammation at the cellular level.
Chlorophyll: Found abundantly in moringa leaves, chlorophyll is known for its detoxifying properties. Beyond cleansing the body, chlorophyll also has anti-inflammatory effects that help reduce swelling and pain associated with chronic inflammation.
Omega-3 Fatty Acids: Moringa contains alpha-linolenic acid (ALA), a type of omega-3 fatty acid that is particularly effective in reducing inflammation, especially in joints. Omega-3s help reduce the inflammatory response and promote joint health.
Together, these active components make moringa a potent natural solution in managing chronic inflammation.
How Moringa Supports Chronic Inflammation
Anti-inflammatory Mechanisms
Moringa’s anti-inflammatory effects are primarily attributed to its ability to influence inflammation at the cellular level. Chronic inflammation often results from the body’s immune response to prolonged injury, infection, or stress, and can contribute to conditions like arthritis, heart disease, and diabetes. Moringa’s bioactive compounds help reduce the production of pro-inflammatory cytokines—proteins that stimulate inflammation. By regulating the immune system, moringa helps balance inflammation and prevent it from becoming chronic. Additionally, moringa’s high antioxidant content plays a crucial role in reducing oxidative stress. Free radicals can damage cells and tissues, worsening inflammation, but moringa neutralizes these harmful molecules. By addressing both the inflammatory response and oxidative damage, moringa offers a dual approach to managing chronic inflammation, promoting better overall health and reducing the risk of inflammation-related diseases.
Scientific Evidence
Numerous studies have demonstrated moringa’s effectiveness in reducing inflammation. For example, a study published in the Journal of Food Science and Technology found that moringa leaf extract helped lower inflammatory markers in animal models, suggesting its potential to reduce inflammation in the body. Similarly, research featured in Phytotherapy Research showed that moringa leaf powder significantly reduced inflammation and joint pain in people suffering from rheumatoid arthritis. These studies provide strong evidence that moringa may be an effective natural remedy for managing inflammation. While more research is needed to fully explore the long-term effects and mechanisms, the current findings indicate that moringa can be a powerful ally in reducing chronic inflammation. With its anti-inflammatory properties, moringa offers a promising alternative to conventional treatments, especially for those seeking a natural supplement to support their health and manage inflammation-related conditions.
Benefits of Moringa Capsules Over Other Forms
Convenience and Dosage Control
Moringa is available in several forms, such as powders, teas, and capsules. While all these forms can provide health benefits, moringa capsules offer several advantages, particularly when it comes to convenience and dosage control.
Pura Vida’s Moringa Capsules are easy to incorporate into your daily routine. Instead of measuring out moringa powder or preparing tea, you can simply take a capsule with water. This makes moringa capsules a convenient option for people with busy lives or those who travel often.
Another advantage of capsules is that they offer a consistent, measured dose of moringa, making it easier to track your intake and ensure you’re getting the appropriate amount of the active compounds that help fight inflammation.
Bioavailability
One challenge with plant-based supplements is ensuring that your body absorbs and utilizes the nutrients effectively. Pura Vida’s Moringa Capsules are designed to enhance bioavailability, meaning your body is better able to absorb the beneficial compounds in moringa. This makes capsules a great option for anyone looking to maximize the effectiveness of their supplement.
Other Benefits of Moringa
In addition to its anti-inflammatory effects, moringa provides a range of health benefits. Some of the other notable benefits include:
Energy Boost: Moringa is rich in iron, which helps combat fatigue and increase energy levels.
Immunity Support: The high vitamin C content in moringa helps bolster the immune system, making it easier for your body to fend off illnesses.
Digestive Health: Moringa can help improve digestion by promoting healthy gut flora and alleviating issues like constipation.
Skin Health: The antioxidants in moringa help protect the skin from oxidative stress and aging, making it a great supplement for those concerned about skin health.
When you take Pura Vida’s Moringa Capsules, you’re not just helping manage inflammation—you’re also supporting your body in other important ways.
Moringa capsules can provide significant benefits for a wide range of people, especially those suffering from chronic inflammation. Here's a breakdown of some key groups that may particularly benefit from adding moringa to their wellness routine:
1. People with Arthritis
Both osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis are inflammatory conditions that cause pain, stiffness, and swelling in the joints. Chronic inflammation in the joints can make movement difficult and painful. Moringa’s powerful anti-inflammatory compounds can help reduce these inflammatory markers, potentially easing joint pain and improving mobility. Regular use of moringa capsules may help manage the discomfort associated with arthritis, allowing for a better quality of life.
2. Individuals with Heart Disease
Chronic inflammation plays a significant role in the development of heart disease. It can contribute to the build-up of plaque in arteries and promote other cardiovascular problems. By reducing inflammation in the body, moringa may help protect against heart disease, lower the risk of heart attacks, and promote overall cardiovascular health. Moringa’s ability to reduce oxidative stress and regulate blood pressure adds to its heart-protective benefits.
3. Those with Autoimmune Conditions
Autoimmune disorders, like lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, and multiple sclerosis, occur when the immune system mistakenly attacks the body’s tissues, leading to inflammation. Moringa’s immune-regulating properties can help modulate the immune system, balancing inflammatory responses and reducing the risk of autoimmune flare-ups. Moringa’s compounds, including polyphenols and antioxidants, may support those with autoimmune conditions by reducing inflammation at a cellular level.
4. Athletes and Active Individuals
Athletes or anyone who engages in intense physical activity often experiences inflammation due to muscle strain or injury. Moringa's anti-inflammatory effects can support muscle recovery and reduce soreness, helping athletes stay at their peak performance levels. Additionally, its antioxidant properties assist in quicker recovery and lower the risk of overuse injuries.
5. Older Adults
As we age, joint pain and inflammation become more common. Moringa’s ability to reduce inflammation and support joint health makes it a valuable supplement for older adults looking for relief from age-related inflammation and discomfort. Regular use of moringa capsules may enhance joint flexibility, reduce pain, and promote an active lifestyle in older individuals.
Incorporating moringa into a daily routine can offer a natural and effective way to manage inflammation and support overall health. Whether you’re dealing with arthritis, heart disease, autoimmune conditions, or general inflammation from physical activity, moringa capsules can be a valuable addition to your wellness regimen.
Personalizing Moringa Use
Before starting any supplement, it’s important to consult with your healthcare provider, especially if you have a chronic condition or are taking medications. Your doctor can help tailor the dosage to your specific needs and ensure that moringa will complement your existing health regimen.
How to Incorporate Moringa Capsules into Your Routine
Recommended Dosage
For most people, a typical starting dose of moringa capsules is one capsule per day, though some individuals may choose to increase the dosage to two or three capsules per day for enhanced effects. Pura Vida’s Moringa Capsules are easy to swallow and perfect for busy lifestyles.
When beginning a new supplement, it's always a good idea to start with a lower dose to assess your body’s tolerance. If you’re using moringa for chronic inflammation, consistency is key. Over time, you should begin to notice a reduction in symptoms like joint pain or swelling.
Complementary Practices for Inflammation Management
Incorporating other healthy habits alongside your moringa supplementation can further help reduce chronic inflammation. Consider these tips:
Eat an Anti-inflammatory Diet: Foods like fatty fish, leafy greens, nuts, and berries are known to reduce inflammation.
Exercise Regularly: Physical activity, especially low-impact exercises like yoga or swimming, can help reduce inflammation.
Manage Stress: Chronic stress can exacerbate inflammation, so it’s essential to practice relaxation techniques such as deep breathing or meditation.
Get Enough Sleep: Proper sleep is crucial for reducing inflammation and allowing your body to heal.
Potential Side Effects and Precautions
Moringa is generally well-tolerated, but some people may experience mild digestive upset, especially when first starting supplementation. If this occurs, try reducing the dosage and gradually increasing it over time.
Precautions
Pregnant or breastfeeding women should consult with a healthcare provider before using moringa, as it may not be safe in all cases. Additionally, if you are on medication or have an existing health condition, it’s essential to speak with a doctor before incorporating moringa into your routine.
Conclusion
Moringa Capsules, like those from Pura Vida, provide a natural, effective solution for managing chronic inflammation. Packed with anti-inflammatory compounds, antioxidants, and essential vitamins, moringa supports overall health while addressing the root causes of inflammation. Whether you're dealing with arthritis, heart disease, or general inflammation, moringa can be a valuable addition to your wellness routine.
In addition to capsules, Pura Vida offers other moringa products to fit your lifestyle, including Moringa Powder, which can be added to smoothies or meals; Moringa Oil, perfect for soothing and hydrating skin;  Moringa Drops, a liquid form for easy incorporation into drinks; and Moringa Body Butter, which helps moisturize and reduce skin inflammation.
Before starting any new supplement, consult with a healthcare provider to ensure it’s right for you. With consistent use, Pura Vida’s range of moringa products can help reduce inflammation and improve your quality of life.

“Would you care to join me for tea later?”
I was sitting at the dining table with Brothers 2 - 5, enjoying a relatively quiet lunch. I’d finally managed to cool down a bitter dispute between Mammon and Levi over the financial benefits of investing in gold versus collectibles, and I’d spent most of the meal nervously watching the pair cast searing glances at each other when they thought I wasn’t paying attention. So when Satan suddenly turned to me and extended the invitation, I had to take a few seconds to process the question.
Asmodeus didn’t need any such buffering period. He leaned in my direction, eyes fixed on Satan. “Ahhhh! I just got goosebumps!” he whimpered, rubbing his arms dramatically. Looking at me, his expression became heartbreakingly sympathetic. “Did you see his smile? So scary!”
“Shut up,” Satan suggested, flashing a dangerous glare in his brother’s direction before directing a more polite expression towards me.
I wouldn’t say it, but my impression wasn’t far removed from Asmo’s. I’d never been fully comfortable in the crosshairs of Satan’s smile even before the time travel incident–especially when it looked like how a cat might smile at a mouse.
Still, he was one of the brothers, and I felt guilty for ditching him at the library the other day, so I smiled at him and nodded. “Sure thing!”
“Great! You can come to my room in an hour or so.” And as if to say ‘well, that’s that,’ Satan started gathering his dishes to take to the kitchen.
Mammon scowled and pointed a drumstick in Satan’s direction. “Oi, why your room? It ain’t respectable, you know? Have your damn tea in the library or something.”
“As if you’ve never spent time together in your room?” Satan snapped. “Don’t make me laugh. Besides, if we go anywhere else, you’ll all conveniently turn up and interrupt us.”
“Have a point, he does,” said Levi, speaking in a caricatured voice. “Interrupt, we would.”
“Why’re ya talkin’ like that? And whose side are you on, anyway?!”
While Mammon barked complaints, Asmodeus sighed sadly next to me, hugging my arm. “Wouldn’t you be happier with more of us there?”
“No,” said Satan.
“I wasn’t asking you,” Asmo replied curtly before turning glistening eyes to me again. “Wouldn’t you? Maybe not those clowns,” he nodded toward Mammon and Levi, “but I’m worried you’ll spend the whole time missing me. It breaks my heart to even imagine it…”
I grinned awkwardly and shook my head. “I think I’ll be alright. It looks like Satan would rather it just be the two of us, anyway.”
“Thank goodness you at least can pick up on subtext. Then that’s settled.” Satan cast a stern glance around the table as if daring one of his brothers to put up another argument. When no one did, he walked off to the kitchen with his dishes.
“There’s a difference between missing subtext and ignoring it because it pisses you off,” grumbled Mammon, crossing his arms and leaning back in his seat. “I hate that guy sometimes.”
“Let’s set up a group chat!” gasped Asmo, pulling out his D.D.D. “It’ll be us four! That way, you can sound the alarm if anything goes wrong!”
“A separate group chat, we need not.” Levi pointed out. “Redundant, it would be. The House of Lamentation chat, we already possess.”
“Seriously, why are ya talkin’ like that?”
“Ugh, you’re all no fun,” Asmo pouted. Then he looked at me and grabbed my hands with an air of total seriousness. “So when you’re in his room, try and stay close to the door. That way you’ll have a clean escape route.”
“Lol,” Levi giggled. “Asmo as a grand strategist. Hindered by the fog of war since nobody knows what Satan's room looks like. -3 to all mental stats.”
“A’ight, knock it off, you’re gonna freak ’em out,” Mammon groaned. Then he looked at me, lifting one palm into the air. “These guys are overreactin’. Satan likes ya. He ain't gonna do nothin’.”
Asmodeus sighed. “I'm not so sure about that Mammon. When Satan gets mad, I don't think it really matters how much he likes or dislikes someone. All that matters is how close they are.”
Not even Mammon could contradict this point.
------
Eventually, I managed to extricate myself from the dining room. By that point, it was time to head to Satan’s room. I’ll admit that I was a little bit nervous as I approached the door and knocked.
I mean, I’d blown him off so recently. He wasn’t in a rage or anything, sure, but was he feeling bitter? He certainly seemed bitter the other night. I didn’t really want to be alone with him if he was seriously irritated with me.
It was too late to go back, though. The door opened, and Satan stood at the threshold, smiling like a perfect gentleman.
“There you are. Thanks for coming.”
As I looked past Satan into his room, I had to choke back an actual gasp.
Where… were all the books…?
There was a small table with a tea tray set up in the middle of the room and the bed was in its usual place, but otherwise, the room appeared to be mostly barren.
“What’s wrong?” Satan asked, frowning testily. “You look like I left something weird lying out.”
As if confirming that he hadn't actually done that, he stole a quick glance behind him before looking back at me and gesturing more forcefully to the table and chairs, inviting me inside with considerably less decorum than he'd shown earlier.
“Oh. Nothing,” I lied awkwardly, stepping through the door and taking a more thorough look around. Now that I was inside, I saw that there were at least thirty books stored on shelves, most of them from his earlier trip to the library, but compared to the hundreds of precariously stacked volumes I was used to, it felt barren, even a little bit sad.
“Sit down,” he said. It wasn’t exactly spoken as an order, but it wasn’t especially courteous either. My nervousness grew, and I did as I was told.
Satan poured us some tea, and I mutely took the cup and saucer. I took a sip of tea and let my eyes wander around the room. That sense that it wasn’t finished yet kept nagging at me. After all, what was his room without books? Just four walls and a bed, really. And, today, two chairs and a small table. And– Huh. That was weird. Something on one of the shelves was glowing. It was some sort of document… A scroll, maybe? The faint effervescent glow was noticeable, but not distracting.
Satan followed my gaze to the scroll and clicked his tongue irritably. “Oh. Lucifer gave me that. I haven’t looked at it yet.” He closed his eyes and shrugged with almost vehement disinterest. “I’m not sure if I ever will.”
“Do you know what it is?”
“Something like a birth certificate, I guess.”
I almost said I was surprised that demons had those, but it would be strange for a demon to either be unaware of that fact, or to be naive enough to mistake an obvious joke for the truth.
“Could I look at it?”
He opened one eye and squinted at me through it. It felt like he was trying to discern my motives. Whatever he thought, he eventually nodded, and his eye closed again.
I put down my saucer and walked over to the shelf, standing on my tiptoes to grasp at the paper curled up in the corner. Snagging it by its edge, I pulled it down and, untied the gold ribbon that held it together, and started to unroll it.
ANNO MMCDXCI REGNI GARDONI MAGNI A SANGUINE LUCIFERI ET CORPORE LILITHAE
I quickly rolled it up again.
“Mm? Is it that terrifying?” Satan was sitting twisted in his chair and looking over his shoulder to see me. He wore a small smirk.
“No,” I said quickly.
“Are you sure?” He looked genuinely amused. “You look a little shaken up.”
“Oh,” I said flatly. My hands were trembling just a little bit. I wasn’t quite sure why. “It’s just… I don’t feel right being the first to look at it.”
“You don't 'feel right'? If you think it’ll hold any sentimental value for me, you’re wrong,” said Satan dryly, turning back around in his seat.
I replaced the scroll on the shelf and made my way back to my seat. Satan stared at me. I knew he wanted to know what I’d seen. I also knew he wasn’t going to ask directly. He wasn’t about to show interest in the document after dismissing it so completely out of hand.
“...I saw Lucifer’s name on it,” I said. “And some year… It- It was in a language I don’t know.”
I could tell it was in Latin, but I wasn’t sure how well your average demon would be acquainted with human languages. It was a little strange that it was written in a human language at all, really.
“Well, obviously Lucifer is on it.” Satan stared into his mostly-empty teacup as he dangled it by its handle from his thumb and forefinger.
“It also mentioned Lilith…”
Satan’s eyes darted up to meet mine. A flicker of emotion; that was it. “Lilith, huh? That’s interesting.” He looked into the teacup again, slouching somewhat in his seat. “What do you know about Lilith?”
“I know she was your sister,” I started, and Satan swiftly shook his head.
“Theirs,” he corrected. “Not mine.”
“I know she was their sister,” I started again. “I know that she fell in love with a human. And I know that’s what led to the Great Celestial War.”
“Do you know what happened to her?” he asked nonchalantly.
I hesitated for just a moment. “...She died.”
Satan nodded. Then he sighed and glanced up at me. “You don’t need to be so careful about how you talk about her around me. I never even knew her.”
“Still, her dying, and the war, and everything that’s happened since then…” I struggled to find the right words. “It seems like it’s been hard on all of you.”
“I have it the easiest,” he said with a condescending shrug.
“How?” That statement baffled me. Sure, his situation was different from his brothers’, but never once had it crossed my mind that he might have it easier.
“I don’t have any annoying attachment to that other place,” he explained with a broad gesture towards the ceiling.
“The Celestial Realm?”
“What other place is there?” he snapped. I might have mentioned the human world, but there was no sense in nitpicking at the moment.
“You don’t feel any connection to it at all?” I asked, growing a bit curious. I knew the general circumstances of how Satan came to be and the implications of that, but my actual understanding of the whole thing was muddled at best. “Even though you’re…?”
“Even though what?” Satan’s expression was… Well, the most accurate word I can think of is bright, though that doesn’t really give the right impression. He was smiling broadly, and his eyes were glimmering with an unsettling intensity. But he didn’t look happy, and his expression was as pale and cold as ice. He knew what I was thinking.
“Even though you’re… I mean, even though you came from…” The smile didn’t falter, but he raised his eyebrows, prompting me to continue. “…from…Lucifer.”
I assumed it wouldn’t send him into a rage, since he had clearly anticipated what I said, and I was right. But I still didn’t expect the gentle laugh that followed. It was perfectly polite, like the kind of obligatory laugh you’d expect at a fancy party. I could hear Asmo whispering in my mind. I just got goosebumps!
“Even though I came from Lucifer. Haha. What a weird way to put it.” His expression finally softened a little, and I released the breath I didn’t realize I was holding. “I’ve actually wondered about this before, and I’ve come up with a theory.” He straightened up and took the last sip of tea in his cup just then. Probably trying to up the drama of the moment.
He set the teacup down in its saucer and fixed his gaze on me again. I wished he’d stop doing that.
“I think I’m the part of Lucifer the light from the Celestial Realm never touched. Something ugly deep inside him that he kept hidden until he couldn’t contain it anymore.”
I looked at him, and he looked at me. I didn’t believe him. Not really. I knew that some of Lucifer’s old feelings and memories lingered in Satan. But I couldn’t imagine he felt good about that. And there wasn’t any reason that I should know that in this place.
“I don’t understand,” I finally said.
He smiled and nodded kindly. “Of course you don’t. No one does. Not even I understand it.” He leaned back in his seat and looked up at the ceiling. His mind wasn’t there, though. It was up, up, up, way up in that place he’d never been, but which was so inextricably linked to who he was and why he existed.
“The rest of them… The ones who call themselves my brothers. They all wish they were back there. Even Lucifer. They all regret it.”
He looked at me sharply for a few seconds as if challenging me to argue.
I took a more conservative approach. “…Why do you think that?”
“Because they failed.” He shrugged. “They lost everything. They didn’t even save their sister. It would have been better for everyone if they’d done nothing at all.”
I couldn’t agree with that for a whole host of reasons. But topmost on my mind…
“But if they did nothing, you wouldn’t exist.”
Satan grinned, and I got the distinct impression that he’d been hoping I’d notice that issue. Like I had made his point perfectly and saved him a lot of tedious explaining. But that grin of his… It was an awful thing to look at. It didn’t look like it so much as it felt like looking at the grin of a corpse. So I stared down at my hands. I had no interest in picking up the teacup again. I felt sick.
“Think about it from my perspective,” Satan said, sidestepping my comment. “The only reason I’m here is as a legacy of failure. I pick fights with them a lot. But isn’t that just natural? It’s why I exist. I exist to remind them that they failed.” I heard him shift slightly in his seat. “...I exist to remind him that he failed.”
Things were quiet for a few merciful seconds.
“You look so sad.”
I braced myself, then hesitantly met Satan’s gaze. He wasn’t grinning anymore, thank goodness. But that eerie brightness hadn’t left his face. He seemed to be enjoying this entire conversation far too much.
I tried to answer him. I tried to tell him that I was sad. I didn’t want to think he hated himself that much. Hated existing that much. Or was all that just a cruel joke of his? He didn’t seem to be taking it seriously. But he wasn’t really treating it as an actual joke either. More like… gallows humor? Like he had to find it funny, or else it would smother him. And it was painful to watch it. In another world, I really loved the guy. But here…
I didn’t know this person.
“Didn’t you hear me? I said you looked sad.”
Satan leaned forward in his seat, examining my expression. The brightness was dimmer, and I got the feeling that I wasn’t reacting the way he’d hoped anymore. I was probably being too quiet.
“...Why did you want me to have tea with you?” I asked him. My voice felt dry and separate from me. I didn’t recognize it. “Are you punishing me for leaving you at the library?”
Satan looked taken aback.
“Punishing you?” His surprised expression suddenly turned angry, and he scowled. “Why the hell would I waste my time punishing you? Is having tea with me really so awful that it feels like a punishment?”
“No,” I said, my voice a little firmer. “But this conversation is.”
Satan stared at me, then looked at the table with the teapot and other accoutrement set atop it.
“I was just curious how you would react, that’s all.”
Curious how I would react? Curious how I would react to what, exactly?
“I wanted to tell you, specifically. I thought your reaction might be interesting to watch. I didn’t expect you to look so heartbroken over it, though.”
“Over what?”
“Over the fact that I’m not a real person and I shouldn’t exist. That I’m punishment for my brothers. Did you know that my name means ‘the adversary’ in a human language?” He tilted his head a bit. “Or maybe I misinterpreted your expression. That’s just what it looked like to me.”
I stared blankly at him. “...I’m sorry, what?”
Satan seemed to appreciate that reply. His lips quirked into a hint of a smile again. “That’s what I was telling you. Lucifer shouldn’t have started any idiotic rebellion. None of them should have become demons. I shouldn’t exist. And the evidence–”
“Satan–”
“The evidence,” he continued, drowning out my interruption, “is my incompleteness.”
All I could do was stare at him. I didn’t know what to think anymore. I was tired of trying to understand what he meant. Still, the obvious question spilled out, as if I was reading a script he’d handed me before I walked into the room.
“What do you mean, your ‘incompleteness’?”
Satan leaned back in his seat as if to say ‘I thought you’d never ask.’ “All I am,” he explained slowly, “is the wrath that leaked out when Lucifer tore off his angel wings.” The ghost of a smile stayed on his face, but unlike before, he looked and sounded deathly serious. “Lucifer rebelled, and he failed. Lucifer hates to lose. He hates to lose so much that all the ugly energy that poured out of him turned into something like a person. But you can’t make a real person out of ingredients like that.” The ghost of a smile grew slightly, but it was bitter and resentful. “You can only make a shadow.”
------
I walked out of the House of Lamentation without saying a word to anyone. I could hear my D.D.D. pinging me, probably Asmo and the others asking how things went. I ignored it all the way to Cocytus Hall.
“I’m home,” I said tiredly as I stepped into the unit I shared with Solomon.
The sorcerer peeked out of his room with a cheerful smile. “Hello! Did you have a good…” His smile vanished, and he stepped out of his room. “What happened…?”
I knew I looked awful. I didn’t have to see a mirror to understand that. I felt awful. So when Solomon approached me and put a hand on my shoulder, looking carefully at my face, I didn’t protest. I didn’t have the energy.
“I don’t want to talk about it,” I mumbled.
Solomon continued to stare keenly at me, his expression almost stern. Then his face loosened up and his usual smile returned.
“That's okay. You can cry if it helps,” he said gently, clasping my hands. I pulled one of them free and touched my cheek.
Dammit. I really was crying.
