off the rack #1303
Monday, March 2, 2020
This is a public service announcement. You will be ticketed for parking on the street during a parking ban even though the snow has already been cleared from the roads. We got a ticket parked in front of our house last week because we couldn't get into our driveway after the grader left a big snow bank at the end of it. I hope to spare anyone from being dinged with what I think is an unfair fine.
Amazing Spider-Man: Daily Bugle #2 - Mat Johnson (writer) Mack Chater (art pages 1-12) Francesco Mobili (art pages 13-20) Dono Sanchez-Almara, Protobunker & Peter Pantazis (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). I can't read the rest of this 5-issue mini. The art really bothered me this issue. It was hard to tell what was going on the first few pages and then seeing Peter Parker in civvies looking almost exactly like the bad guy confused me further. There are interesting mysteries about Spidey's webbing and a Wilson Fisk involvement with an explosion, but this story probably won't matter in the grand scheme of things, so I don't think I'll miss anything if I bail out here.
Punisher Soviet #4 - Garth Ennis (writer) Jacen Burrows (pencils) Guillermo Ortego (inks) Nolan Woodard (colours) Rob Steen (letters). Frank and Valery go after Konstantin by kidnapping his trophy wife. She's amenable to divorce by Punisher. Thank Garth for improving my mood.
Basketful of Heads #5 - Joe Hill (writer) Leomacs (art) Riccardo La Bella (additional pencils) Dave Stewart (colours) Deron Bennett (letters). Everything leading up to this issue has been circumstantial. Now the villain tells the complete story. I'm rooting for June to survive this mess.
Year of the Villain: Hell Arisen #3 - James Tynion IV (writer) Steve Epting & Javier Fernandez (art) Nick Filardi (colours) Travis Lanham (letters). Heh, it's the Joker who helps Lex beat the Batman Who Laughs. It looks like next issue's pulse pounding conclusion will be Lex and his super villains versus the Batman Who Laughs and his infected super heroes. It's been a while since the Main Man has been in a comic that I've read.
Avengers #31 - Jason Aaron (writer) Gerardo Zaffino, Geraldo Borges, Szymon Kudranski, Oscar Bazaldua, Robert Gill & Mattia De Iulis (art) Rachelle Rosenberg & Mattia De Iulis (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). I haven't seen Tony Stark in a while so I assumed he was dead. Nope. He was zapped a million years into the past by the master manipulator Mephisto. The devil tries to get Tony's soul. This is a wonderful full issue of Iron Man and if Jason wrote an Iron Man book, I'd read it.
Amethyst #1 - Amy Reeder (story & art) Gabriela Downie (letters). I remember reading the original Amethyst book when it hit the racks in 1983 with the Ernie Colon art. It was fun and weird with a plucky heroine. This new Wonder Comics book has the appeal of having art by Amy Reeder who wowed me with her work on Madame Xanadu and Rocket Girl. Here she is writing as well and the art and story is tight and concise. This is a nice substitute for the dearly departed Naomi book.
Avengers of the Wastelands #2 - Ed Brisson (writer) Jonas Scharf (art) Neeraj Menon (colours) VC's Cory Petit (letters). It's the origin of Captain America of the Wastelands. His name is Grant. I think this is a great way to change tried and true Marvel characters to make them fresh and new. Having them fight an evil Doctor Doom is nice and simple. Four Avengers may become five but they have to contend with a super villain first.
Suicide Squad #3 - Tom Taylor (writer) Bruno Redondo (art) Adriano Lucas (colours) Wes Abbott (letters). The new Squad's first mission under Lok's leadership does not go according to plan. Neither are these super villains what they seem. This is why I read Tom Taylor books. Forget about any new Crises and DCeased and pick up this most excellent comic book for some straight up action and skulduggery.
Kill Lock #3 - Livio Ramondelli (story & art) Tom B. Long (letters). I get why the calligraphy font is used in the Wraith's word balloons but man, is it hard to read. This issue explains why The Kid is innocent and shouldn't be branded. The four droids find the one who can lead them to the Kill Lock's off switch but she betrays them. This universe of sentient robots is pretty cool.
Jessica Jones: Blind Spot #4 - Kelly Thompson (writer) Mattia De Iulis (art) VC's Cory Petit (letters). Each issue has started off with Jessica held captive by the bad guy. The end of this issue reveals who that is and how she was killed and resurrected. I am looking forward to the conclusion to see how she defeats the villain.
Batman Superman #7 - Joshua Williamson (writer) Nick Derington (art) Dave McCaig (colours) John J. Hill (letters). A new story starts here. Part 1 of "The Kandor Compromise" pits the World's Finest duo against Ra's Al Ghul and General Zod. One of the bad guys is working with the good guys. I got bored of the fight between Superman and Rogol Zaar so what happened to the city of Kandor was a surprise to me. I'm interested to see the final fate of the shrunken city.
Giant-Size X-Men: Jean Grey and Emma Frost #1 - Jonathan Hickman (writer) Russell Dauterman (art) Matthew Wilson (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). This mostly wordless $4.99 US one-shot will be a quick read but I read it twice just to soak in the beautiful art. The story starts with the discovery Storm's body and ends with a problem after Ororo is resurrected. This leads into a story where Jean, Emma, Logan and Scott will have to save Storm again.
Leviathan Dawn #1- Brian Michael Bendis (writer) Alex Maleev (art) Josh Reed (letters). Leviathan succeeded in shutting down every spy agency and the leader has been revealed to be an ex-spy named Mark Shaw. The good guys are still trying to fight back but they're going to need help. Time for Kingsley Jacobs to start up Check Mate again. I like the players he's gathered. I'm looking forward to watching this game unfold.
Finger Guns #1 - Justin Richards (writer) Val Halvorson (art) Rebecca Nalty (colours) Taylor Esposito (letters). And now for something completely different. This new urban fantasy introduces two teenagers with a weird power. Wes discovers that when he shoots people with his left hand he can make them angry. Sadie can calm people down when she uses her right finger gun. They meet by accident at the mall and try to get a handle on their newfound powers. It's a cool concept and I wonder where these kids are going to end up.
Fantastic Four: Grimm Noir #1 - Gerry Duggan (writer) Ron Garney (art) Matt Milla (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). This one's all about Ben's bad dreams. I thought the bad guy was Nightmare but it's another one of those mystical villains that generally mess with Doctor Strange. I expected some sort of Mickey Spillane type story but there's no murder, just a pretty dame needing rescue. It's a nice character study of the ever lovin' blue-eyed Thing.
Detective Comics #1020 - Peter J. Tomasi (writer) Brad Walker (pencils) Andrew Hennessy (inks) Brad Anderson (colours) Rob Leigh (letters). Two-Face is back and he's more bipolar than ever. This is what I like to see, an old villain presented in a slightly new way. We still have the scarred coin dictating how Harvey acts but there's a new twist with a cult of fanatics and the Church of the Two Strikes. I love how the first page hints at the return of the Court of Owls too.
Falcon & Winter Soldier #1 - Derek Landy (writer) Federico Vicentini (art) Matt Milla (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). This 5-issue team-up starts off with a heavily armed and armoured hit squad attacking Bucky Barnes in his home. The Winter Soldier emerges unscathed and hops his motorcycle to find out who sent the killers. Meanwhile Sam Wilson is searching for a missing vet. The two meet at a government agency office where all the staff are dead. Wanting to know who's doing all the killing has got me interested in reading the rest but when a preppy killer shows up and kicks both of the heroes asses I decided to put this mini on my "must read" list. The kid's name is the Natural. Picture a blonde Damian Wayne in a pair of Chuck Taylors.
The Amazing Spider-Man #40 - Nick Spencer (writer) Iban Coello & Ze Carlos (art) Brian Reber & Peter Pantazis (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). The fight between Spider-Man and Chance had to do with a bet that Chance could get one of Spidey's web shooters. What bothered me was how easily that was done and Spider-Man's lack of urgency to get it back. There's a couple of foreshadowing scenes that will keep me reading however. One involves the Clairvoyant device and the other is who Norah Winters is working with.
X-Men #7 - Jonathan Hickman (writer) Leinil Francis Yu (art) Sunny Gho (colours) VC's Clayton Cowles (letters). This issue is dedicated to a new Mutant Ritual called the Crucible. It's a lot shorter than calling it the Arena of Death and Rebirth. It shows how mutants who have lost their powers can get them back. But first we have to endure a deep philosophical discussion between Cyclops and Nightcrawler. It's a real snoozer if you're an action fan.
Action Comics #1020 - Brian Michael Bendis (writer) John Romita Jr. (pencils) Klaus Janson (inks) Brad Anderson (colours) Dave Sharpe (letters). I wish they would stop with the deceiving covers. It looks like Superman is trying to come between Lex Luthor and Leviathan but what actually happens inside is Superman fighting Lex and the Legion of Doom. If it weren't for Young Justice helping out I would have found this issue boring.
X-Men/Fantastic Four #2 - Chip Zdarsky (writer) Terry Dodson (pencils) Rachel Dodson, Karl Story & Ransom Getty (inks) Laura Martin (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). There's a lot of heroes accusing heroes of shenanigans concerning the disappearance of Franklin and Valeria. They are actually guests of Doctor Doom. Victor wants to reverse what Reed did to his son and I want to know why. With the X-Men converging on Doom Island, good old Doc Doom is prepared for an attack.
X-Force #8 - Benjamin Percy (writer) Bazaldua (art) Guru-eFX (colours) VC's Joe Caramagna (letters). Why did Oscar Bazaldua stop using his first name in the credits? Domino and Colossus attack the flesh factory making assassins using Neena's DNA. The organisation funding the flesh factory has a mysterious benefactor and I'm hanging around to find out who that is. I wish they would change either Sage or Jubilee's costume. I keep getting them confused.

Everything You Want To Know About Family Mediation Associates
Many human beings are turning to mediation as an alternative way to remedy disputes across the spectrum. Although mediation has been maximum popular in family regulation conditions and business disputes, this device also can be effective at resolving a wide type of conflicts. For the maximum component, if the issue may be litigated, it may also be mediated. This is why commercial enterprise and expert conflicts, employment issues, small claims disputes, or even custody issues have all been resolved efficaciously the usage of mediation.
If you're able to go to mediation prior to getting engaged in a court warfare, this would be higher for the final results of your case. First of all, mediation has a tendency to have more fine effects in litigated instances. It is also less high priced due to the fact the situations can be resolved more speedy. As an initial way of resolving your dispute, mediation can be distinctly powerful. This does not mean that the simplest time you may use mediation is on the outset of your case, however.
Some humans locate that even after months or years of trying a case in litigation, mediation is one way to unfastened the disputing parties from their gridlock and allow them to work collectively to create an settlement. Mediation is maximum suitable if you are interested by supporting to create your own solution. If you and the other birthday party are on completely contrary terms, for example, it can be tough to attain a decision in mediation. Sometimes, even though, even a party who regarded set in its approaches can be open to mediation after litigated case has dragged on for a while.

The full ‘cast list’ got announced, and I have to admit: not only were there names I didn’t expect, but the names that had already been announced were arranged in configurations I absolutely didn’t expect. Who figured they’d get O’Neil and Adams and NOT put them together?
From the bottom up:
James Tynion IV and Alvaro Martinez: Tynion paved the way for this with his run and Martinez was one of his main and best collaborators, so this is well-deserved and should work just fine.
Scott Snyder and Greg Capullo: Well, of course. Wonder if this’ll set up/tie in with Last Knight on Earth? I also wonder if, to fit the unusual length, Snyder will go full-script, in which case this might be his technically best Batman story with Capullo since Court of Owls.
Tom King, Tony Daniel, and Joelle Jones: Daniel sure isn’t the name I would’ve expected to see here from across the scope of King’s Batman, but at the end of the day he’s done so much with the character that I can’t really say his inclusion is unmerited, especially when R.I.P.’s in there; even if he blows it, Jones will by contrast blow it away. Also, courtesy of King’s twitter, this is one of the three stories in here we actually know something about: titled “Batman’s Greatest Case”, he describes it as “a sort of summation of my work on Batman” which will unsurprisingly involve Catwoman; he also made clear Tim will be in the book, though it’s unclear whether he meant in his story or elsewhere. Either way, this should be good, and I’d dig if King went as out of left field here with the subject as he did in Action, especially given he has the rest of a 100-issue run to make ‘normal’ statements on Batman.
Geoff Johns and Kelley Jones: Now that is an interesting pairing. Still think Johns is by default 50/50 at best here, but that he’s going with Kelley suggests a specificity of vision (a vision clearly distinct from what he’s going for in Earth One) that might indicate one of his better efforts.
Christopher Priest and Neal Adams: Fuckin’ A.
Denny O’Neil and Steve Epting: A sequel of some sort to There Is No Hope In Crime Alley, and I swear to god the prospect of the two of them doing such a story together sounds familiar. Is this something that had been discussed in the past but not materialized?
Paul Dini and Dustin Nguyen: As expected, and should rule. Kind of hope this had Bat-Mite in it to follow up on the ending of Dini’s Mxy story in Action #1000.
Warren Ellis and Becky Cloonan: The major shockers of this crowd. Cloonan rules and draws a boss Batman, and Ellis has written three Batman stories and two of them are among the absolute best Batman comics of all time in my estimation; this has a VERY real chance of being the best story of the bunch.
Brian Bendis and Alex Maleev: Bendis writes a solid Batman in the Walmart books and Maleev is Maleev, so I’d be stunned if this wasn’t very good.
Kevin Smith and Jim Lee: Hahahahahaha
Okay but seriously, I think this could be good? With editorial reigning in his pants-wetting excesses, and the number of individual good moments I seem to recall being in Cacophony/Widening Gyre divorced from the nutbar excess of the story as a whole, I can absolutely imagine Kevin Smith offering up 5 good pages of Batman comics. If anything Jim Lee is the question mark here, both given his usual quality these days and the basic head-scratching incongruity of putting him with Kevin Smith, even if he’s the Celebrity Cameo since presumably Neil Gaiman wasn’t interested and therefore gets the big deal artist. Occurs to me that Smith is the equivalent to Meltzer in Action #1000, and that was unexpectedly one of the best stories in there, so maybe this’ll follow suit?
Peter Tomasi and Doug Mahnke: I reiterate, who on Earth could possibly care? Arkham Knight shmarkham knight, in this context you’re just the dude who half-assedly recapitulates Morrison and uses Damian, start setting up his 14th birthday and 666 or I walk. At least it should look good.
So yeah, only one obvious loser of the bunch and it should just be bland rather than genuinely shitty, and the Fabok double-page spread should be nice, along with whatever other pinups are in here to pad it out (I assume this is the full set of creators and that King’s story, like Tomasi’s, will be a 15-pager in keeping with Action #1000 giving the ‘main’ teams extra space, which still leaves about 20 pages unaccounted for; presumably Snyder/Capullo will be on the longer side too, or maybe Tynion/Martinez. Three stories longer than 5 pages was what the last one went with, and those two pairings strike me as the obvious candidates for the third here. Or maybe Bendis/Maleev, since Bendis is doing the Walmart book right now?). As for the covers, I’d go Jim Lee (better than his Action #1000 by miles, but I swear that Batman looks photoshopped in, and Robin with an iphone is a bizarrely of-the-moment element that doesn’t fit here) < Frank Miller (I’m sure someone could write an essay that gets me to respect what this is doing, and I’ll give it some points for uniqueness, but damn that’s still ugly) < Tim Sale (it’s fine, but I’ve seen better from Sale) < Jock (obviously looks great, but for a cover standing for the 00′s this ain’t much) < Bruce Timm (pretty but unremarkable and uninspired) < Michael Cho (looks great and fun, but as an all-encompassing collection of everything strange and lovely about an era, it’s the palest shadow of the Allred Action #1000 cover it’s clearly modeling itself after) < Bernie Wrightson (a fine selection) < Steve Rude (like his Action #1000 cover a little too specific for me to pick it, but absolutely beautiful and a clever reimagining of iconic imagery; notable he’s had the same solar-themed pseudo-KKK on both his 30s covers for the World’s Finest to beat up) < Greg Capullo (simple, iconic, and striking, almost certainly what I’m getting) < Jim Steranko (bizarre, beautiful, a curious inversion of the original #27, if the ‘60s logo isn’t too intrusive I might have to go with this one).
Probably not the first to ask this, but thoughts on the announcement of 'Tec 1K? Especially it being 16 pages longer than AC 1K, IE they are literally making more of Bat's milestone than Supe's?
You can bet I noticed that extra space, but I have a feeling that if that additional room wasn’t provided Priest wouldn’t be sticking his head in, so as far as I’m concerned it’s a good thing.
I’ll admit that a small, unrealistic part of me hoped that #1000 would be a broader celebration of ALL things DC, since it’s the namesake title, with the big Batman blowout being saved for #1027, but even if anyone other than me considered that the timing wouldn’t be right for it to be during his 80th. The big thing that immediately sticks out to me is that Snyder and King weren’t mentioned; I have to assume they weren’t noted because their presence is simply a given, since unlike Morrison (who’s already confirmed he’s not coming back for this in a recent interview) in Action where it’d be a return, they’re both still actively working on Batman. Otherwise:
* Bendis/Maleev should do something sweet that, aside from whatever King’s contribution will be, stands a good chance of being the standout of the issue.
* When was the last O’Neil/Adams joint exactly? Neat.
* The last creators I think are a given to be paired from what we’ve seen are Dini/Nguyen, and as long as Hush isn’t involved it should be a winner.
* Johns wrote the literal worst Batman comic with Earth One, so I’m less than enthused for his contribution. Though I had low expectations of his role in Action #1000 and then he did one of the highlight stories, so who knows?
* Kelley Jones’ presence is unsurprising but appreciated; wonder who’ll write his section.
* Seeing Priest here is a real unexpected treat; I know Batman’s always been his dream gig, so that he gets to be part of this is terrific.
* As for the lead feature of Tomasi/Mahnke introducing a mainlike take on the Arkham Knight: who on Earth could possibly care?
Of course, unlike Action Comics #1000 where they announced all the creative teams upfront (even if they dickishly made it sound like there would be more in the pipe), they clearly haven’t announced everyone here yet to fill out 96 pages given most of these, assuming they stick to the previous format and most of these are 5 pages. Personally, fingers crossed that Warren Ellis does something since he’s quietly one of the absolute best Batman writers or all time, and that Alan Brennert would be willing to get roped in. And hopefully something by JHIII, since I’d definitely consider him the best living Batman artist. Speaking of whom I could imagine Rucka being in here since he’s still working on that Black Label book; maybe he and Williams will reunite the Batwoman band here?

One Big Family... give or take
Back to the Gent co parenting au, here's how I think each notable character relates to the demon now:
Joey: Distant/incompetent bumbling dad. He questionably loves Bendy but the reason may not be due to his dream coming true more proof of concept. Only really shows concern when Bendy starts getting close to someone else or someone accuses him of being distant.
Henry: Supportive but bumbling dad. He and Linda didn’t have any intentions on having any kids and the child support letter was super shocking coming from Joey of all people. But after realizing that Bendy would only get worse he tries really hard to be a good influence on Bendy. Kinda the strict parent when he’s not scared shitless of his kid.
*cut cause post is long
Sammy: Uncle that’s just young enough to be more like an older cousin. He technically has authority over bendy but it feels weird and he rather let Bendy do his own thing as long as it doesn’t fuck around in the music department. Does play Bendy “calming” music on his more “playful” days also weird tension at times if we follow Joey x Sammy in this timeline
Jack: Family friend that you don’t know but think is mysterious and cool. Technically Bendy has full permission to duck around in areas completely ink and the sewers count. Jack ain’t scared of him as he’s seen the thing fall on it’s face crawling out the pipes down there but knows he’s still a bit dangerous. Bendy is curious as Jack rarely stops him from doing much. Coaches Bendy in “singing”
Susie: Cool big sister. Susie techno still voices Alice in this au and as such is technically in competition to be more popular than Bendy. Bendy likes her a lot tho as she’s the most like Alice otherwise and it’s lonely knowing ur the only one like you. Susie just wants to work and doesn’t indulged Bendy when he wants to play toons… most of the time. She thinks Bendy is funny but not right kinda jealous he gets so much attention
Allison: Technically adoptive mom but more like the aunt that spoils her siblings kids. Thinks the whole ink kid thing is a laugh and good for studio bonding! Brings Bendy outside studio stuff despite Joeys rule against it and by far is his favorite in terms of who he actively seeks out. Pavlov dogged the demon and now you may get trampled cause she brought him a toy that didn’t look like him
Thomas: Aloof dad that is subtly proud of his freaky adoptive son but won’t admit it. Like GENT forced him to be Bendys handler and that’s what he calls himself but Bendy treats him like a third dad, cause why not. On Tom’s days he’s patient when the demon absorbs his tools and makes sure no one messes with it or calms him down. He says it’s just procedure but it slowly gets more personal and defensive when others mumble about him. Stern and has actually grounded the ink demon like what
Norman: More like an urban legend to Bendy, the boogie man. Bendy doesn’t understand like metaphors so when people say Norman disappears in the studio or knows everything Bendy is like “God??? Actually Devil???” and has tricked himself into thinking Norman is this all seeing being that says morbid jokes things with a smile. Norman plays it up because it’s funny he’s horrifying the horror simply by minding himself. Occasionally drops the act to be nice and like play a toon for the toon
Wally: Doofy brother. Wally just gets jokingly upset when Bendy walks over a freshly mopped floor and fake fights him with the mop. The only person willing to actually play the traditional way with Bendy. Bendy messes with Wally only cause he thinks Wally messes with him despite it’s just Wally being incompetent. Wally didn’t realize bendy was a demon until he saw him go through a wall then was more mad he had to clean the wall than “holy shit Joey summoned Satan and now gets custody on the holidays”
Shawn: Neighbor kid who spies on the supposedly haunted house. Bendy actually stays out of the toy department on account he can break too many things so Shawn found out dead last and freaked out when Bendy came looking around. Hides from the demon or shoos him off cause if bendy comes around he gunks up the machines and that’s extra work for him.
Grant: Literally like a tired babysitter. Bendy took up so much time in court and now he has to entertain this thing until someone more qualified can. Just gives Bendy an abacus and tells him to go nuts. Thinks the demons okay and has like a weird mutual understanding that Joey should not be a dad.
Nathan: If Nathan comes around Bendy the person who can throw him out the fastest is offered a $300 dollar cash prize. Fuck Nathan I’m surprised he had a kid.
Bertrum: Grandpa who tells weird stories but lets you do crazy things so he’s fine ig. Bendy isn’t supposed to mess with Bendyland workers due to all the dangerous stuff they could drop when scared but Bertrum likes to show him how much better and competent he is than Joey. Kinda wishes he made Bendy so he could rub it in Joey’s face but see actually Bendy with more fascination and personal interest
Lacie: Tried to fight Bendy and puts him on par with robo Bendy. Doesn’t hate the poor demon but he creeps her out and she’d wish Bertrum stop showing him every nook and cranny of BendyLand. Will warm up to him but is also gonna be that vine. “So you uhg...wanna beer?” He’s 4! “I dunno what I’m supposed to do with him!”
Wow Bendy! How come your mom lets you have 3 dads!

Henry tries really hard in the coparenting au to get Joey to focus on like setting rules for Bendy and not just claiming him as his pride and joy when it benefits him. And that’s sad but I can only envision it as the funniest family counseling sessions ever:
Henry: I just don’t feel like he’s giving Bendy enough attention and it’s not good for their relationship. Bendy wants his attention and acts out because of it and everyone else has to handle it. And it feels like he doesn’t care.
Joey: I pay attention to him enough!
Henry: He’s trying to absorb the therapist
Grant, half absorbed and their therapist cause Joey didn’t want to go to a real one: Yeah, I’m gonna side with Henry on this one. Can you pull me out by the way?

I started thinking just a bit more about the GENT repo au I dreamt about so here are things that happened in the dream before I forget them:
There was a literal custody battle where Grant was Joeys lawyer trying to get Joey to keep rights over bendy and the machine
He and GENT got duel custody over bendy (seeing as Thomas also thought locking up the ink demon was proper parenting) But GENT got full custody of the machine. Joey was not happy
Somehow Henry got dragged back cause he’s technically Bendys other dad and was very confused when he got a child support letter in the mail
GENT/Thomas were the tough parents while Joey literally let Bendy like try and absorb people, not in a mean way it was like a bonding game?????
Bendy was still just as unnerving in game but technically less murderous as he didn’t try to out right kill people but he did try to do cartoon slapstick which is very bad if ur human (he tried to drop a piano on someone, possibly Sammy)
GENT didn’t like take Bendy on their days Thomas just became a fixture at the studio and GENT custody days were basically him telling Bendy to hold his tolo box, not to absorb it and just follow him
The GENT boss/ceo was just as insane as Joey but like more serious hence why he didn’t just want Bendy exorcised.
The studio was oddly okay with this as long as they didn’t have to personally watch Bendy. The public didn’t know but investors did and thought the fact that Joey was “family oriented” made him a good candidate for funding (literally ignored the fact his kid was a demon made of ink)
The dream ended with Bendy breaking into Thomas’ home cause he left his tool box at work and he wanted to return it.

Since the au is still horror adjacent here’s more creepy/odd/unsettling things ink Bendy does or events or rules in the co parenting au:
Sometimes ink is found in pots of coffee or unopened cans of bacon soup. Usually it’s glaringly obvious but people have gotten close to consuming the stuff at times. So far no has or has figured out how it gets there for the latter
On certain sheets, bendys eyes follow or notes move. It’s subtle enough to chalk it up to ur imagination
If you tell on Bendy he has an unnatural way of knowing and follows you around for a little bit. He’s never done anything but people report a higher rate of ink being found in consumables
Sometimes rooms are dark no matter how much light you shine into them. Sometimes the dark is moving. People avoid going into these dark rooms
Early on there was an experience with the main crew kinda like that deer episode of Adventure Time. All I’ll say is Bendy cannot be left alone for long periods of time
Rooms have been found destroyed and smashed. Bendy limps more on the days these are found
Bendy stares at poster for prolonged periods of time and will take the ones depicting Alice and Boris… somewhere
It is advised not to fall asleep alone and while Bendy is running about. People have reported waking up inkier and on a much lower level
If Bendy is locked in Mr. Drew’s office for a “time out” it is advised to leave him there no matter how behaved or sad he seems
If Bendy becomes extremely playful the protocol is to hide all heavy objects, avoid steep inclines and railings and under no circumstances stand in areas where something can be dropped from
Keep Bendy out of the supply closets and leave no harsh cleaning fluids out
Joey Drew Studios is not liable for the destruction of any religious items brought into the studio, nor injury or distress caused by the process of destruction
Also Bendy needs to eat but like only Joey and Thomas know what that looks like so no one else has to suffer that knowledge.

Some Bendy and the Divorce Court AU (that’s what I’m calling it officially) creepiness:
Another reason Susie is kinda dismissive about Bendy in the co parenting au is he constantly tries to lead her to unknown locations around the studio. Through locked doors or places that say do not enter, stairways she’s never seen, places where the moaning of pipes and sounds of machinery are abnormally strong and off putting. Where the ink pools higher and seems ever flowing. Deeper and deeper into the studio. This puts her right on edge and into the nope zone and she never goes past level 9 (storage area in the au).
It doesn’t help that he specifically is more intense about her following after hearing her recording or her indulging him with the Alice voice.
