Bemily Week 2022 - Day 5: Wrong Number
Beca: Hey dude, congrats on the album release, 10 Years of Ari is already on its way to number one! Thanks for letting me be part of it
Unknown Number: Uh I think you have the wrong number HOLY CRAP DO YOU THINK THIS NUMBER BELONGS TO ARIANA GRANDE
Beca: ....
Beca: Sorry dude... Number was one digit off. My bad...
Unknown Number: MY PHONE NUMBER IS ONE DIGIT AWAY FROM ARIANA GRANDE’S?!
Beca: My bad
When music producer Beca Mitchell means to text a refused-to-be-officially-named colleague of hers but accidentally texts the wrong person, she doesn’t think anything will come of it. Why would it? But through a series of continued texts, she strikes up an unlikely friendship with grad student and resident dog walker, Emily Junk. Suddenly Beca finds herself texting all night, sending endless Snapchats, and sharing several specifically curated playlists. So maybe she has a crush on this random girl she’s never met. It doesn’t mean anything, right? Right?!

Are there any angsty jori fics you’ve read that you could recommend?
These are basically the only jori I can remember reading lol there's not much angst sorry in advance. I'm a fluff kinda gal.
This series is nicknamed the Virgin-Verse if I'm not mistaken and is my favorite jori ever and I've read it a bunch. This one actually does have quite a bit of angst but it's a mixed bag of angst and fluff and, as it goes on, smut. It follows them through canon and into the way future. The twists are delightful and the buildups always pay off. It will take you days and days to read. It's very long.
The Motion series is by one of the same authors and is set during school and also a little in the future. There is a little angst in this but it's very minimal and fades quite quickly. But it's well written and cute.
TweetDick is one of my faves in terms of characterization. It's really short and there is zero angst lol so sorry about that. But it's funny and cute and I've read it several times to remind myself of these characters.

The Bellas Find Out
Beca Mitchell and Emily Junk were notorious for, to put it plainly, hating each other’s guts. Though they had a similar circle of friends (whom they hung out with separately - for obvious reasons) the two were Barden Secondary School's famous frenemies… minus the friends part. Really just the enemies part.
Their friends would find it interesting (read stressful) whenever they would cross paths, one half being with Beca, the other with Emily. None of the girls were exactly sure about why they hated each other, all they knew is that they did and that they would be the ones listening to the endless amount of complaints about the other girl.
But none of that can provide any sort of explanation as to why Emily has Beca pushed up against a library shelf.

Bemily Week Day 1: Fake Dating
“You want me to what?”
“Look, it’s not a big deal. I kind of told my mom that you were my girlfriend, so now she wants to meet you. She and my stepdad are having their five year wedding anniversary this Friday, and I just need you to pretend to be my girlfriend for the night.”
You’re probably wondering how Beca and Emily got into this situation…Lets back it up to about three weeks before this.
“Why don’t you go to the dinner with Tanner Franklin? He’s a very nice young man; I think he’d be perfect for you.”
It was Monday evening, and Beca was at her mother’s house, catching up. She hadn’t cared to see her mom for a long time, and now, she was reminded why. See, her mom hadn’t always been the most accepting of Beca and her life decisions. So when Beca came out to her as gay when she was 15, her conservative mother was less than thrilled.
Diane Mitchell didn’t allow her daughter to date any girls while Beca was living with her. On Beca’s 16th birthday, the girl decided to go and live with her dad and step-monster Sheila, in hopes that her father would be more accepting of who Beca is. To this day, Diane still has trouble taking her daughter for who she is and often tries to convince her daughter to go out with a boy. “Maybe you’ll change your mind,” Diane often says. But everyone knows, that’s not how it works.
“You know why, mom. I’m not having this discussion with you again,” Beca responded with a hint of frustration in her voice. Any more of this conversation and Beca would go insane.
“Come on honey, you never know. It’s possible you’re just confused.”
Seriously? Confused?
“What? I-ughhhh, I’m not having this conversation anymore. Plus, I have a girlfriend.” Beca didn’t have a girlfriend, but the girl knew the only way this conversation would end was to say she did. Convince her mother that she didn’t need a date.
Unsatisfied, Diane wrinkled her nose, “A girlfriend? Really? What’s her name.”
Her name? Um…
“Emily.”
Why she said Emily’s name, the world may never know. Beca doesn’t even know why. She panicked. That’s what she does, she panics. She says things sometimes all the time, not even stopping to think about it first.
Something you should probably know is, well, not only did Beca tell her mom that Emily was her girlfriend, but she was almost 100% sure she was in love with her. Scratch that, she knew she loved Emily, with her entire being and that’s not something that Beca can say has ever happened.
But what she didn’t know, no one knew, is that the freshman was harboring the same feelings for Beca.
“You did what?!” Now, it was Emily’s turn to panic. Fake dating someone you have real feelings for never turns out good. But man, when Beca Mitchell asks you for something, it’s hard to say no. Especially when she’s looking at you with her big stormy eyes and those lips, man those lips…
Focus, Emily.
Beca took a seat next to the tall girl, who was staring at Beca in confusion. “Listen, I know I should have asked you first, but you don’t know my mom. She kept insisting that I go with this guy and no matter how many times I tell her no, she won’t stop.” Emily frowned, not liking what she heard.
“I’ll do it.”
//
“It’s not too late to go home if you want,” Beca said as she and Emily walked up the stairs to Diane’s house. The whole week leading up to the event, Emily has been a nervous wreck. She was about to meet the mom of the girl she loved. No pressure or anything, right?
She had to remind herself that this whole thing was fake to keep herself from backing out at the last minute. Beca needed her help, and Emily wasn’t about to let her down.
“No,” Emily shook her head,“ It’ll be fine. As long as your mom buys it, it’ll all be fine.” Beca sighed, apparently not convinced.
Emily noticed how nervous the small girl was, so she gently took Beca’s hand in hers and gave it a light squeeze.
Beca took a deep breath and opened the door to the house. Immediately, tons of heads turned to look at the girls, some flashing welcoming smiles.
“Beca, my darling!” An older looking woman came striding over to Beca and Emily, enveloping the smaller of the two in a tight grasp. Beca awkwardly patted the woman on the back, not letting go of Emily’s hand. The sight was quite funny to Emily, the girl knowing how much Beca didn’t like hugs…or touching, in general.
“Hi mom,” Beca said, coming out of the hug. The older woman smiled at her daughter and turned her focus to Emily.
“Mom, this is Emily…my girlfriend.” Emily smiled and stuck out her hand. Mrs. Mitchell took the young girl’s hand and gave it a firm shake before letting go.
“Nice to meet you, Emily. Come, let’s go to the kitchen, have a chat.” Diane started down the hall, waving to people as she passed. Beca and Emily followed her closely.
Eventually, the three made it to the kitchen and sat down at the big island in the middle of the room.
“So, Emily. Tell me a little bit about yourself,” Diane said, once everyone settled. Emily looked at Beca before turning back to Diane.
“Well, I am a freshman in college. I’m planning to get my degree in psychology,” Emily spoke. Beca grabbed the girl’s hand to stop her from fidgeting due to nervousness. Emily grinned slightly at Beca before continuing. “I also love being a Bella. Music and singing have been my passions since I can remember.”
Diane nodded, signaling that she was listening. Her face was scrunched up, looking like she was either focusing hard or judging her. Emily guessed that she was judging.
“Em and I met when she auditioned for the Bellas,” Beca started, stifling a laugh,“ Actually, I first met her at a small party after she auditioned. She was very…enthusiastic about meeting me.” Emily joined in laughing with Beca, remembering how excited she had been to meet Beca. She knew ever since that day that Beca would be a vital part of her life. The girl’s little moment was short-lived, seeing as Mrs. Mitchell wasn’t laughing.
Emily cleared her throat and pushed her hair back behind her ear.
“I see.” Diane paused, “Emily, what are your intentions with my daughter?”
“Here we go again,” thought Beca.
“Mom.” The older girl flashed her mom a warning look. Emily put her hand on Beca’s arm, reeling her back in.
“It’s alright Becs.” Emily nodded as the older girl glanced at her and back at her mom. “Well, I don’t plan on breaking her heart, if that’s what you’re asking. I love her, with everything I have. She makes me happy, and I only hope to do the same for her, whatever that means for us.”
Beca couldn’t believe what she was hearing. Tears started in her eyes, but she quickly blinked them away, not wanting her mother to see her so emotional. A wide grin was plastered on her face, realizing how much she loved this girl. How deeply she cared for her, and how badly she wanted this relationship to be real.
Beca had no idea if what Emily was saying was real or if it was just all coming out of her ass, just for the sake of her mom being in their presence, but everything she was saying was perfect. It only made Beca’s love for her grow stronger, if at all possible. Emily needed to know how Beca felt for her.
Beca turned to look at Emily, who was smiling ever so slightly.
“Well, Emily, that’s quite an exposition. You seem like a lovely girl. I just hope you truly mean all of what you said” Diane said.
Emily nodded, looking at Beca. She did mean it, even if Beca didn’t realize it.
Diane turned to Beca, taking her daughters hands into hers. “Rebecca, I don’t know why I ever doubted you. I owe you an apology. I am deeply sorry. Never have I believed that you could pick someone who loves you as much as your father and I do, but it’s clear that you have. Keep this girl close, it’s obvious she loves you.” Diane shot a wink at Emily, who grinned widely.
Beca was never really good at expressing emotions, something that she learned from her mother very early on in her life. But this moment was an exception. The girl felt her eyes starting to water. But this time, she didn’t blink them away. Tears escaped, running down her cheeks as she smiled lovingly at Emily.
The tall girl brushed away her tears with her thumb, keeping her hand resting on Beca’s cheek. Emily’s touch caused butterflies to occupy Beca’s stomach, her breath catching in her throat. Beca brought her tiny hand to Emily’s, and slowly placed a kiss on the palm of Emily’s hand.
“Alright, alright, just because I’m okay with you two dating doesn’t mean I need front row seats to see it all happen.” Beca and Emily giggled, both getting up out of their seats. “Go, have fun. This dinner party is going to be really boring for the two of you.”
“Thanks for having us, mom. I’ll uh, call you later?” Beca asked, turning to face her mother. Diane nodded, watching the girls walk back down the hallway to the front door.
Beca slowly opened the door, letting Emily walk out first, before shutting it.
Immediately, Beca wrapped the tall girl in an embrace, holding her tightly. Confused as to the sudden affection that Beca was showing, Emily hesitantly wrapped her arms around the small girl, resting her chin atop of her head.
“Beca?” Emily frowned, holding onto Beca’s arms.
“I’m in love with you,” Beca blurted out, coming out of the embrace. She looked Emily in her eyes, her beautiful brown eyes. Ones that could steal anyone’s heart, just by looking into them. The same eyes that Beca continues to fall deeper into every day.
Emily tilted her head, her expression softening after hearing those words. A smile crept onto her face.
“Sorry, I- I don’t mean to scare you off, and I understand if you don’t feel the same wa-.” Emily cut Beca off by pressing her lips to the petite girl’s. The two moved in such synchronization like they do this on a regular basis. Beca’s lips were soft on Emily’s as the girl pulled away, Beca chasing Emily’s lips, wanting more. A lot more.
Emily smiled, wrapping her arms around Beca’s waist, “Y'know, I meant everything I said to your mom. I want to make you happy, as happy as you make me.” Beca grinned, her cheeks burning. She glanced at Emily’s lips before placing a gentle kiss on them.
“You already do.”

Beca was usually chill. It was the word people who knew her always seemed to find most significant about her. But Beca did not feel like Aubrey would say the same after the way Beca practically fell over herself rushing through the door of Posen’s.
“I’m here,” Beca huffed, trying to catch her breath. “I’m not late.”
“You are, actually,” Aubrey mumbled, not looking up from whatever she was writing down. “Did you forget how to tell time?”

the suns' light is distant but i shall find another star to guide me (Pitch Perfect fic rec)
the suns' light is distant but i shall find another star to guide me by LittleBlackGoldfish @littleblackgoldfish
Beca Mitchell/Emily Junk (Bemily) (f/f)
Pitch Perfect (Movies)
Completed, 1 chapter, 10k words, 2020
Rating: Teen And Up Audiences
Warnings: No Archive Warnings Apply
No Barden, no Bellas, Sci-Fi AU.
Author's summary:
Beca's brother is getting married. He's missing. She goes to smooth things over. It's in space. Bemily Week 2020 Day 5 - Accidental Marriage
My notes:
Not only a great Beca/Emily Accidental Marriage AU but also an amazing Sci-Fi story (with awesome worldbuilding) - which is a combination that is pretty rare. The story is cute and angst free and well written.
I really loved this one and I am sure you will enjoy it if you like Bemily or Sci-Fi, and there is a good chance you will love it if you like both. Highly recommended.
Favorite Quote
Darkness and stars ripple as the diamond-glass seems to lense. Then the sky above them is filled not with the shoal, but with the banded sphere of Jupiter, the edges of the distortion blended nearly seamlessly into the greater tableau.
"There's something about seeing it like this that never fails to inspire," Emily says.
"Inspire?" Beca asks. "What sort of things does it motivate in you?"
Emily blushes and glances her way, like she didn't expect the question.
"Writing, lyrics for songs."
"Just lyrics?" Beca asks. "Or the music for them too?"
She shakes her head, "No, both. Mostly simply harmonies and melodies. I've never really made much effort to learn how to do anything more complicated, I know I should if I'm going to write songs, but I just- I don't know."
"Um, could you- I mean, would you, maybe, sing something for me?"
"Here?" Emily goes adorably wide-eyed. "Like, now? Right here?"
"Yeah. If- only if you want."
A moment passes where neither of them says anything. Then another. Emily is practically staring Beca down, or maybe staring through her.
Finally she says, "Okay," she nods. "Okay, but I'm not, uh, I'm quite done with it so… um, don't be a dick."
She gasps and brings her hands up to her mouth. Apparently not what she meant to say, Beca finds it fucking hilarious and laughs which makes Emily herself laugh in return.

Bemily Week Day 2 - Secret Agent & Day 5 - Superpowers
AND
Pitch Perfect Horror Week Day 1 - Cults
Beca's always been able to see and hear dead people. A traumatizing and inconvenient ability, sure, but after years of dealing with ghosts and learning to control her powers to help out her occult-obsessed friend Stacie and her tacky medium business, she's got somewhat of a handle on the situation.
That is, until a particular, persistent, motormouth ghost drags Beca into an absolutely chaotic shitshow — full of doomsday death cults, black budget supernatural investigators, blood rituals, and several near-death experiences — that she really didn't fucking ask for.

Title: Sharing is Caring
Pairing: Bemily
Chapters: 1/1
Wordcount: 1201
Summary: The Bellas are finally back hanging out together (sans Emily who's busy at Barden). Beca loves them, but she just really wants to spend some quality time with her girlfriend.Post PP2
Beca didn’t like sharing.
Sharing of various sorts.
One thing was feelings. People have described it as more painful than pulling teeth, for both Beca and the one trying to get the information. Although she had been getting better about opening up with the Bellas, Beca still tended to be defensive of her thoughts.
She was also extremely protective of food. If anyone asked her for one of her fries, she glared and hoped they got the message. Almost none of the Bellas asked her for food anymore. Chloe kept trying, and once in a blue moon Beca might let her get away with a stolen bite, but Chloe knew not to push it. Emily Junk however, was a person that Beca could never refuse. She would ask sweetly and look at Beca with puppy dog eyes, and suddenly Beca was pushing her entire plate towards her to have a pick of anything on it. And Emily would really go for it, sometimes finishing more half of Beca’s meal.
And Beca would let her.

And the Bellas of course noticed. Stacie and Chloe sported knowing smirks. Fat Amy and Cynthia Rose made whipping noises. While Emily was completely oblivious to their antics, Beca was not, and glared at them all. But the damage was already done and they just laughed or “aww”ed.
Emily would be confused, saying “what’s going on?” with a mouth full of food. Beca would try to be disgusted (she hated people talking while eating) but the sight would only make her swoon.
So yes, Beca enjoyed sharing with Emily.
However, she didn’t not enjoy sharing the person Emily.
They started dating right after Worlds. Beca had complained that they would be in different states in just a few weeks, prompting Stacie to roll her eyes and literally shake some sense into Beca. (Beca swore her back was never the same since.)
And so, Emily was in her third year at Barden, captaining her own troupe of Bellas, and Beca was trying to break into the music world in New York. Long distance was hard on both of them, but it was very much worth it. Beca couldn’t remember why she didn’t want to try. Their stolen moments together over text or FaceTime even for just a little while always made Beca’s entire day or week.
Which is why she wasn’t quite looking forward to this Bellas reunion. For one, Emily couldn’t make it due to her slew of exams coming up. And while Beca was extremely excited about seeing everyone again, but it also happened to coincide with the one day of the week she got to really talk to Emily, as the other days Beca was really tired from work and Emily was busy with classes and extracurriculars.
They were all crammed into the studio apartment that Beca, Chloe, and Fat Amy shared (another thing Beca wished she didn’t have to share but New York City rent is so goddam expensive), continuing to catch up with each other after their collective dinner out. Beca was talking to Chloe when she felt her phone vibrate in her back pocket, indicating an incoming FaceTime. Beca accepted it and stood to take the call to the bathroom where at least it would be quieter, but Chloe saw the contact name and pulled her back down.
“Guys, Emily is calling Beca!” Chloe squealed to the room.
The room went completely quiet momentarily before shouts of “Hi Emily”, and “LEGACY” chorused from the room.
Beca, knowing this was a battle she couldn’t win, handed the phone to Chloe, who began excitedly asking Emily questions about what was going on her life, with the other Bellas slowly gathering around to shout their own inquiries to her.
After about an hour of Beca’s phone getting passed around the room, Stacie noticed the sulking Beca in the corner.
“Hey guys, want to come back to me and Aubrey’s hotel room? I’ve got some alcohol and a new speaker we can blast some dance songs to!”
The room erupted in cheers and excited chatter, and Jessica, who was holding Beca’s phone with Emily still on call, handed it back to her. The Bellas began gathering their things, though Chloe noticed that Beca made no move to.
“You coming, Becs?”
“I think I’m just gonna chill here, if that’s cool.”
Chloe got the hint and nodded in understanding. “Sounds good. Enjoy your night with Emily!”
Beca shot a gracious half smile to Stacie who winked back. Beca watched the Bellas file out of their small apartment, and sighed in relief when the last of them left. The door closed and Beca turned back to her phone, propped up on her knee.
“Sorry ‘bout that.” Emily looked apologetic.
Beca shrugged. “It’s all good, dude. They’re your friends too.”
“I miss them but you’re my faaaavorite.” Emily grinned her big dorky smile and Beca suddenly couldn’t find it in her to be upset anymore.
“Shut up, sap.” Beca rolled her eyes. “Anything new with you? You’ve probably shared everything with the rest of the Bellas already, so sorry if you’re repeating anything.”
“I told them a lot buuuuuut I didn’t tell them my best story… I got nine new hamsters!!”
“Dude what??”
“Well, I forgot to tell you that got a buddy for Gerald since he seemed lonely, but Lex turned out to be a Lena and I could see her getting fatter but I just figured she was just sympathy stress eating cuz I was stressed from having two midterms in a week and then I came back from psych one day and there were eight little hamsters in there with them. Soooo say hello to-“ Emily panned the camera to the cage beside her. “-Debbie, Lou, Daphne, Amita, Tammy, Constance, Nine Ball, and Rose!”
“Okay first, did you really name them after Ocean’s 8? I gotta admit that’s pretty cool. Two, Em, aren’t hamsters solitary animals?” Beca gained a fair amount of animal knowledge from Chloe’s stories from her job.
“Yeah but I just felt so bad cause I’m gone all the time and my hamster babysitter graduated.” Emily pouted, a crinkle appearing above her nose.
Beca stared at her phone, smiling softly in amusement at her girlfriend. She wished nothing more than to kiss that adorable crinkle away, overwhelmed with a warm feeling in her chest. Only Emily, sweet, charming Emily, could turn her heart into absolute mush.
“Love you, Em.”
“Love you too, Becs!” Emily beamed, the nose crinkle on her face replaced by eye crinkles as she smiled. “Tell me about your week! Fat Amy or Chloe do anything crazy? Any fun artists come in?”
Beca launched into multiple stories as there was never a dull day between living with her wild roommates and the equally insane singers she worked with. She rambled on, briefly thinking about how she must have picked up this babbling trait from her girlfriend. But she didn’t stop, because she could see Emily following along intently: laughing, smiling, frowning, and emoting heavily in general to every sentence.
And it made Beca feel heard in a way she never thought was possible.
So yeah, Beca loved sharing with Emily.

Bemily Week Day 1
Prompt: Coffee shop
Beca and Emily see each other at the campus coffeehouse one day and decide to study together. They meet up every week and after some very awkward conversations they start dating. Since Emily has a single dorm, Beca spends most of her time there. Even if Emily's coffee isn't as good as the coffeehouse's, she loves that her girlfriend makes her coffee nonetheless.
