I know I'm obsessed but listen one of the things i love about the expanse is the subtle parts of world building. Take the crew of the Rossi for example. By and large they're laymen - they're not scientists, they're an ice hauling crew who ended up roped into saving the world by virtue of not being on the Cant. But also, they're unfathomably smart by our standards. Hell, they said as much in the show - Amos is their engineer which means he's essentially a literal rocket scientist, it's just that technology has advanced so far that's not really so impressive anymore. I love that!
