7. What is your deepest joy about writing?

That feeling when you finally hit your stride in a story and it feels like it's writing itself, or that the words are just coming to you ready to be put on the page. It's almost spiritual and I love it

10. Has a piece of writing ever “haunted” you? Has your own writing haunted you? What does that mean to you?

Yeah yeah yeah yeah I've been compelled to write in the middle of the night I've been haunted by stories that won't let me go I've had weird trance states. Insert the "yes, the time knife, we've all seen it," meme here.

On Writing and Madness haunted me for a while, as did A Room of One's Own.

Here’s a passage from Lighthopping beloved:

Every time he lets himself go still, he starts to fall asleep. It’s alright, he tells himself. He’s been up since 0445 and it’s (he checks his communicator) (he checks his communicator again) 2314 now. That’s, fuck, that’s eighteen and a half hours? That’s a lot. It feels like a lot. He wonders what a lot is to the other people at the table.

His eyes drift closed, heavy and dry, and he feels himself lean towards the table.

Someone kicks him under the table.

It’s Cody. He’s laughing, wide-eyed and happy. “Are we boring you, Commander?”

Fox digs his fingers into the softest part of his thigh and tries to laugh.

Brought to you by chronic exhaustion and overwork as experienced by me! Basically, I just wanted to put it out there and see if anyone could relate. Backstory is please don’t let 17 year olds run 16 hour days. Please.
