Cullen Family x Female Vampire Reader (Platonic)
PART 10
Summary: Bella endures her transition to a Vampire while Y/N's condition continues to worsen.
TW: Mentions of death/injury/illness, lack of regard for the feelings of others, medical testing, needles, blood.
The Cullen family was left unscathed after Jacob imprinted on Renesmee. The Wolves were forced to abandon their quest to kill the child, but tensions were still high. Y/N had been released from her quarantine and had finally been allowed to move about the house freely.
She took full advantage of her newfound freedom, but there were some things that Carlisle still wouldn't allow. Y/N was not to step foot outside the house unless someone was with her. She became quickly exhausted after any kind of physical activity and her heart beat would become irregular. Carlisle was strict about her having a companion in case something were to happen.
Y/N walked along the road with Jacob Black by her side. He had been focused on Renesmee since he had imprinted, Bella was still in transition and he felt responsible for the baby girl. Jacob had been incredibly tense as he watched over Renesmee and Carlisle encouraged him to take a moment away. Jacob went reluctantly and the pair walked in silence until he looked over at her.
"Why exactly do you need a babysitter?" Jacob asked.
"I'm dying," Y/N stated simply.
"What? I thought that Vampires couldn't die unless they're torn apart," Jacob said.
"Apparently they can... I bleed, I cry, I eat and my body is falling apart for no apparent reason," Y/N said.
"That sucks," Jacob said.
Y/N huffed a laugh, "Yeah, it does," She replied.
"Still doesn't really explain why I'm following you around though," Jacob said.
"Carlisle said that my heart beat is irregular. He's worried that something could happen to me while I'm alone," Y/N stated.
"Have you left your house at all since you started becoming human?" Jacob asked.
She glared at him, "I am not a human," She corrected quickly.
"Well, whatever you are then," He amended.
"No, you and your wolf friends had my house surrounded. Remember?" Y/N questioned.
"So, you're pretty new to not being a bloodsucker then, huh?" He asked.
"I guess you could say that," She replied.
"Do you want to go into town for a bit? Maybe we can get some actual food," He offered.
"I would do anything to leave that place right now. Since Bella died, Carlisle has devoted the entirety of his time to testing me for anything he can possibly think of. Then I have to sit there and watch Edward stay by his wife as she magically comes back from the dead. Don't even get me started on that rapidly growing demon that they produced... It's like my own personal hell," Y/N said.
Jacob laughed and Y/N shot him a serious look, "I didn't realize that I said something funny," Y/N said.
"It may not be funny, but it is ironic because I was in love with Bella and I was ready to kill Edward when she died. Then I went to get the baby to hand over to the pack and in some ridiculous twist of fate, I actually imprinted on her. Now I practically live in the house with the guy I hate, the girl I used to love and their daughter," Jacob said.
"If I weren't going to die horrifically, I might actually say that you have it worse," Y/N replied.
"We're just two of the luckiest people around, huh?" He questioned, she nodded.
"Where are you taking me then?" Y/N asked.
"A diner. I'm going to get you the biggest and most greasy burger they offer along with fries and a milkshake," Jacob listed.
"All of that sounds absolutely repulsive, but I'm excited to try it," She said.
"Good," Jacob nodded.
The pair returned to the house and Y/N went up to tell Carlisle that she was leaving. She returned after a few minutes with a pair of car keys dangling from her finger.
"He said no to the motorcycle," She stated.
"Maybe another day," Jacob replied, holding out his hand.
Y/N placed the keys into his palm, "I'm definitely riding on a motorcycle before I die. I'm trusting you to make that happen," She said.
"I can definitely do that for you," Jacob assured.
They made their way down to the garage and got into one of the cars. Jacob started the car and opened the garage before driving out onto the road.
Y/N settled back into her seat as she looked out the window, "Just for my own curiosity, how long does it usually take for someone to come back from the dead?" Jacob questioned.
"Usually takes about three days. The morphine that Bella had in her system could definitely have an effect on it though," Y/N stated.
"Three days of waiting," Jacob huffed.
"At least she's not awake and screaming like the rest of us were," Y/N said.
"It hurt that badly?" Jacob asked, glancing over at her.
"The worst pain I've ever felt. It was like every nerve being scorched and having your skin peeled from your body. It was misery," She said.
"I'm sorry you had to go through that," He said.
"It gave me a lifetime of pain and loneliness like I have never known before. I would have chosen death a thousand times over," Y/N replied.
"Who was it?" Jacob asked.
"I don't know what you mean," Y/N said, looking over at him.
"Who was it that broke your heart?" Jacob clarified.
Y/N hesitated, "Carlisle first and Edward second," She answered.
Jacob scoffed, "Well, with that information, you definitely earned the title of having the worst situation possible," Jacob said.
"I've always been an overachiever," She deadpanned with a smirk.
Jacob smiled as he pulled into the parking lot of the diner, "Ready to eat?" He asked.
"I'm absolutely ravenous," She replied.
The pair got out of the car and made their way into the restaurant, they were sat in a booth and given a moment to look over the menu.
Y/N stared at the laminated sheet with wide eyes, finding herself overwhelmed by the options as she slowly opened the menu.
"Wow, this is a lot of stuff," She mumbled.
"Do you want me to just order for you?" Jacob questioned.
"That would be lovely," Y/N replied.
"Do you have any preference on milkshake flavor?" He asked.
"The last meal that I had as a living person was probably boiled cabbage and stale bread. You can pick whatever you want and I'm sure it will be better than anything I've ever eaten," She replied, closing the menu and sliding it to the edge of the table.
"Point taken," He nodded.
The waitress returned to their table with her notepad and pen in hand, "What can I get for you two today?" She questioned.
"For drinks, we'd like one chocolate and one vanilla milkshake. And for food, we'll get two of the bacon cheeseburgers with fries," Jacob listed.
"Perfect, I'll get that going for you," The waitress nodded, collecting the menus and moving off to the kitchen.
"Why did you get two different flavor drinks?" Y/N asked.
"So you can try both and keep whichever one you like best," Jacob shrugged.
"That's very kind of you," She said.
"It's no big deal," He replied.
"It is to me," Y/N stated.
The drinks came out quickly and the food followed shortly after. Jacob put two plastic straws into the milkshakes and slid them across the table to her.
Y/N leaned forward, taking a sip of the vanilla milkshake before moving over to the chocolate and taking another sip.
"What's the verdict?" He questioned.
"I like the lighter one more," She said, tapping a finger against the side of the first glass.
Jacob slid the chocolate milkshake back over to his side of the table, "Good choice. The vanilla one is my personal favorite," He said, taking a sip from the same straw.
"You can have it if you like it more," Y/N said, moving to slide it over to him.
"You're the one who's new to human food. You get to keep the milkshake that you like best," Jacob said, resting his hand over hers and pushing it back over to her side of the table.
They ate and chatted about their lives before reluctantly returning to the Cullen house.
"I had fun tonight. You're pretty cool for an ex-bloodsucker," Jacob said.
"I had fun too and I suppose I should say thank you," Y/N replied.
"It was definitely meant as a compliment," Jacob assured, "And you can feel free to come find me whenever you want to go on another nature walk or do something ridiculously stupid just to cross it off your bucket list," He continued.
"I will definitely take you up on that," Y/N nodded.
"I'll see you tomorrow... Sleep well," He said.
"You too," Y/N replied, making her way up the stairs to her bedroom.
...
Y/N stood in the shower, lathering the shampoo into her hair before stepping under the water. She washed the soap from her scalp, allowing the warm water to run over her skin. Y/N lowered her arms as her heart began to race in her chest, she let out a shaky exhale and leaned into the wall.
Y/N suddenly felt lightheaded and exhausted, breathing heavily as she slid down the wall weakly. Her arms fell in front of her body limply as she leaned into the wall, eyelids fluttering as she struggled to remain conscious.
"Carlisle," She called softly, her voice was barely audible over the sound of the water.
The shower curtain was pulled back suddenly before Carlisle reached in and turned off the water. He stepped away, grabbing her robe before kneeling down next to the bathtub.
Carlisle maneuvered her body around easily, slipping her arms through the sleeves and wrapping the robe around her body. He tied the belt at her waist before slipping his arms underneath her and lifting her into his arms.
Y/N's head rested on his shoulder as she closed her eyes, head pounding as her heart raced in her chest. He carried her into her bedroom before carefully setting her down on her bed.
Carlisle brought over the vitals machine, wrapping the blood pressure cuff around her arm and placing the probe on her finger. Y/N grimaced as the cuff began to inflate, but she was far too exhausted to say anything.
"Your blood pressure is incredibly low," Carlisle stated, reaching over and resting his hand on the side of her neck.
His fingers found her pulse point easily, feeling the rapid pulsation of her heart against his fingertips.
"I don't feel good," She mumbled shakily.
"I'll get you on fluids and we'll see if that helps," Carlisle said.
Y/N closed her eyes, unable to do anything besides breathe as her body began to shiver. Carlisle returned with a bag of fluids and a primed line, hanging it up on the pole beside her bed.
"Are you cold?" He questioned, noticing the way her body trembled.
She nodded silently and Carlisle stepped into her closet, he returned with a long sleeved shirt and a pair of loose sweatpants.
"Not mine," Y/N mumbled.
"Alice thought that you should have something comfortable and warm to wear," Carlisle said, setting the items on the edge of her bed.
He helped her dry off and get dressed before getting her settled in the bed. Carlisle sat down on the edge of the bed beside her, tying the tourniquet around her arm and flexing her wrist as his eyes scanned her skin.
Carlisle cleaned her skin with an alcohol wipe before opening his needle and removing the cap. Y/N turned her head away as he pushed the needle into her vein, he held the cannula in place as he retracted the needle. He connected the tubing to the cannula quickly before laying a clear dressing on top of it.
Carlisle pressed the edges against her skin carefully before reaching up to grab his IV tubing and connecting it to her. Y/N looked over as he stood up, programming the machine and opening the roller clamps.
The fluid slowly began to drip as the infusion started, "You should try and get some rest. I'll be back to check on you in a bit," Carlisle said, she nodded.
Y/N drifted off into a dreamless sleep before Carlisle had even stepped foot into the hallway. She slept for hours, body shivering silently as she struggled to retain her warmth. Carlisle added a few more blankets on top of her, but nothing seemed to help with the icy chill that had come over her.
Carlisle slowly made his way into the living room where the family was sitting. Esme held Renesmee in her arms while Rosalie watched them with a fond smile.
"Jacob, could I borrow you for a moment?" Carlisle asked.
"Sure," He nodded, standing up from his seat and following Carlisle down the hallway.
"I have a bit of an odd request and you can refuse if it makes you uncomfortable," Carlisle said.
"What is it?" Jacob asked.
"Y/N had a bit of a medical episode tonight," Carlisle started.
"Is she okay?" Jacob questioned.
"She's fine, but she's incredibly cold and I can't seem to get her temperature up," Carlisle said.
"I can definitely help with that," Jacob nodded.
"Thank you," Carlisle replied, leading Jacob down the hallway to her bedroom.
He opened the door and stepped inside, allowing Jacob to make his way into the room before closing the door gently.
"Jeez, how many blankets do you have her buried under?" Jacob asked with a smile.
"Five, I believe," Carlisle stated.
Jacob moved around to the other side of the bed, stepping out of his boots before lifting the blankets and laying down beside her.
Jacob shifted closer to her and she turned towards him in her sleep, immediately drawn in by the heat he gave off. Jacob wrapped his arms around her and guided her body into his side.
Y/N let out a soft breath, her head resting on his chest as she soaked up his warmth, "She's freezing," Jacob muttered, rubbing his hand over her back gently.
"I'm not much help in that department, unfortunately," Carlisle said.
"Well, I got it from here," Jacob assured.
"Just be conscious of the IV and call for me if something happens," Carlisle said, Jacob nodded.
Carlisle made his way out of the bedroom, closing the door behind himself carefully. Jacob settled back into the pillows, brushing his hand over her back until he eventually drifted off to sleep beside her.
Jacob awoke when the sky was dark, he turned his head to see Carlisle standing at the bedside. He hung a new bag of fluids on the IV pole before connecting it and pressing a few buttons on the machine to restart the infusion.
Y/N stirred slightly in his arms as Carlisle programmed the pump, eyes fluttering open slowly. Her brows furrowed as she pulled away from him slightly.
"What's going on?" She mumbled.
"You were cold," Jacob replied.
"How are you feeling?" Carlisle questioned.
"I'm fine," Y/N replied, laying back down on her back beside Jacob.
"I can go if you want," Jacob offered.
"No, it's too cold in this place," She huffed, lifting the blankets up higher over her body as her teeth chattered slightly.
"Here," Jacob smiled, reaching out and pulling her closer to his side.
He wrapped his arm around her and she leaned her head back against his shoulder as his hand settled on her arm, "Better?" He questioned, she nodded and closed her eyes. Carlisle smiled softly to himself, quietly exiting the room and closing the door.
"I know you're not here for me, but I still appreciate it," Y/N said softly.
"You're probably one of the best living people in this house right now. Us humans need to stick together," Jacob said.
"Still not human," Y/N mumbled tiredly.
"Whatever you say," Jacob replied, rubbing his hand over her arm gently.
...
Carlisle opened the door to Y/N's bedroom and paused when he realized that the bed was empty. Jacob had stayed with her for a few hours before returning to the living room to be with Renesmee. She had been asleep when he last checked on her and the empty bed made him nervous.
"Y/N," Carlisle called.
"In here," Y/N replied softly.
He stepped over to the bathroom and pushed the door open, finding her sitting on the floor in front of the toilet with her back leaned against the wall. Y/N was incredibly pale with dark bags under her eyes, exhausted and weak as she looked up at him.
"Are you alright?" He questioned.
"I can't stop throwing up," Y/N mumbled.
"How long have you been in here?" Carlisle asked.
"An hour," She replied.
"Why didn't you call for me? I could've given you something to help with the nausea," He said gently.
"Feels like someone shoved a hot branding iron down my throat," She muttered.
"I could get you some water or tea to help," Carlisle offered.
"Just want to sleep," Y/N stated.
"Can you stand?" He questioned, looking down at her.
"No, everything hurts," She grumbled.
Carlisle nodded, kneeling down and sliding his arm underneath her body before lifting her up into his arms. Y/N let out a soft whimper, grimacing in pain and gripping onto him as he picked her up.
Carlisle turned around and set her down on the countertop. He prepared her toothbrush before passing it to her, wetting a cloth under some warm water as she brushed her teeth.
Y/N leaned over and spit into the sink, Carlisle took the toothbrush from her hand and offered her the cloth. Y/N wiped the cloth over her skin, arms falling limply in her lap as she breathed heavily, utterly exhausted from the simple act of wiping her face.
"Are you alright?" Carlisle asked.
"No, I'm not and I wish you'd stop asking me that," She snapped.
Carlisle didn't reply, giving her a moment to rest as he put everything away. He stepped back over to her when her breathing rate had returned to normal.
"Ready?" He asked, she nodded.
Carlisle lifted her into his arms carefully before he carried her into her room and placed her down on her bed. Y/N grimaced as she laid back, closing her eyes as she took a few shaky breaths.
"How bad is the pain?" Carlisle questioned.
"Terrible," She stated, growing irritated with his questions as she struggled to get comfortable.
"I'll get you something for the pain and the nausea," Carlisle said, standing up from the edge of the bed.
"Or you could just snap my neck now and put me out of my misery," Y/N offered.
"That's not an option and you know that," Carlisle replied gently.
"What quality of life do I have, Carlisle? My teeth are falling out, my body aches like I have broken glass flowing through my veins and I can't do simple tasks without feeling completely exhausted. I am miserable and it isn't going to get any better," She stated.
"There are still things we can try, Y/N. You were doing incredibly well a few days ago, we don't have to jump to extremes just yet. Pain medications, sedatives and anti-nausea drugs can drastically improve your comfort level," Carlisle said.
Y/N scoffed, "I don't want to spend the rest of my life in a narcotic haze as my body shuts down," She snapped.
"Dosages can be adjusted. It doesn't have to be that way," Carlisle assured.
"You've done as much as you can for me. It's time to give up," Y/N stated.
"That's not what you really want," He said.
"How would you know what I want? You haven't cared enough to know me for an incredibly long time, Carlisle," She said.
"You're right... I haven't been there for you in the way that you wanted, but I'm here now and I want to help you," Carlisle pressed.
"You can't help me," Y/N stated firmly, "But you can let me go," She continued.
"We can talk about our options tomorrow. You should try and get some rest," Carlisle advised.
Y/N shook her head, looking away as Carlisle made his way out of her bedroom and closed the door.
Edward stood in the hallway, "She wants to die?" He questioned.
"She does," Carlisle replied.
"We can't let that happen," Edward stated.
"I'm going to try and convince her to pursue alternative treatment options, but she doesn't seem optimistic," Carlisle said.
"I'll talk to her," Edward said, Carlisle shook his head.
"Bella could be waking up any moment now, she's going to need you. I can deal with Y/N for the time being," Carlisle assured.
"When Bella wakes up, Y/N is going to need someone with her at all times. The bloodlust could overwhelm Bella and Y/N wouldn't stand a chance," Edward said.
"We'll cross that bridge when we come to it," Carlisle replied.
"Agreed," Edward nodded.

Sheriff
"I want you, Y/N."
Pairing: Charlie Swan x fem! Reader
Genre: Smut
Word count: 3.6k
Summary: Your car breaks down and the friendly sheriff comes to your rescue.
a/n: Guys please 🙏 send any twilight requests you have my way, I’m so desperate to write more
You were currently on a road trip, alone, going from Oregon to well, anywhere really. Your car begins to stutter as you drive through the night. You pull your car over on the side of the road, your heart rate slowly rising in frustration.
You take a deep breath, mentally counting to ten, you remind yourself that there's nothing you can do about it right now, you just have to accept that your car has broken down and that you're stranded in the middle of nowhere, you don't even recognize where you are.
You look around, taking in your surroundings, your gaze falling on a sign that reads "Forks, Washington," located a few kilometers down ahead.
As you dial the number for the sheriff of that area, your heart continues to race anxiously. With every additional ring, the worry inside you seems to intensify, it felt like an eternity before someone picked up on the other end of the line. The line clicks as the call connects. You hear a deep, gruff voice come through the phone, "Forks Sheriff's office."
“Hello… My name is Y/N, uh, I’m not sure where I am but my car just broke down. It’s really dark,” you quickly ramble into the phone, eyes wandering the surrounding area.
The voice on the other end of the phone responds calmly, "Hello Y/N, this is Charlie Swan, the Sheriff. Can you tell me where you're currently located?" The Sheriff, Charlie, seems to have a gentle and steady tone, attempting to help you as he inquires for more information about where you are stranded.
"Well, I'm next to the 'Welcome to Forks' sign.." you reply, the gentle tone from the sheriff helping to calm your nerves.
"Okay," the sheriff responds firmly, his tone conveying a sense of reassurance, "Just stay where you are, I'll be there soon." There's a sense of comfort in the assurance that the sheriff is on his way.
There's a brief moment of silence after the phone call ends, and you take a few calming breaths, trying to steady yourself amidst the darkness. Shortly afterward, you notice the headlights of a police cruiser approaching on the road in the distance, the patrol car getting closer until it pulls up behind your stranded vehicle.
Charlie, the sheriff, steps out of the vehicle, his presence is undeniably commanding yet somehow soothing, the stern expression on his face is replaced by a slight smile as he walks over to your car.
Unlocking the door you cautiously step out into the cool night air, gaze meeting the sheriffs. Charlie steps closer to you, the smile still on his face as he takes in your worried expression,
"Y/N?" he asks, his tone carrying a hint of recognition for the voice he spoke to on the phone.
He walks toward you, his steps measured and calculated, his tall stature towering over you as he steps closer. A small smile still on his face, he looks you over, inspecting your car, he asks inquisitively, "Car trouble?"
"Mhm, I'm not too sure what happened.." you sigh, watching as he comes to inspect the hood. You sneakily check him out, noticing how the night casts gentle shadows over his features.
Charlie leans down over the hood, his eyes studying the engine with focused attention. He gives a few knocks on the engine and tries to look around inside as much as he can, his face becoming slightly grim as he starts to examine the issue.
He straightens himself up, closing the hood gently, before turning to you. His voice is calm and steady, "Well, looks like we've got some real trouble here. Engine seems to be overheating."
"I don't know much about cars..." you murmur, stepping closer to him and holding your coat tight around you
Charlie notices your closeness, and he instinctively reaches out, placing a reassuring hand on your shoulder to keep you warm. He looks at you, a hint of a smile on his face as he replies, "Well, that's alright, not everyone needs to be a mechanic."
He glances at your car once more and sighs, "Overheating is a pretty common issue, it happens when your engine gets too hot to function properly. Based on the look of things, you won't be going anywhere anytime soon."
Your cheeks flush with his gentle touch, immediately craving more of his warm body. "I see, is there a motel or someplace I can stay for the night? Until I get this checked out?"
Charlie's eyes fall on yours, observing your blush with a hint of curiosity. He notices your desire for warmth but doesn't say anything.
He nods as you mention finding a place for the night and replies, "Yes, there are a couple of motels nearby, but they're not the most...pleasant, to say the least."
He studies your face again and his expression softens a bit as he continues, "You can stay at my place for the night. I have a guest room you can use."
Your blush deepens, the strong musk of his cologne sending your mind to inappropriate places. "Your place? Are you sure?"
Charlie looks at you, noticing your blushing getting even more noticeable, making him raise his eyebrows a bit. He smiles gently and says in a reassuring voice, "Yeah, my place. It's a lot more comfortable than any motel around here anyway. And I don't mind, really."
There's a hint of something in his voice, a subtle intensity that can't quite be explained. He looks at you again, making sure you're up for the idea.
"Alright, that sounds amazing." you grin, flashing him your pearly whites as you take a half step closer to him. "A warm cozy house, a soft mattress.. sounds like heaven."
Charlie notices your movements, the way you step closer to him, and he can't help but chuckle softly. Seeing your toothy grin makes his heart skip a beat, the sound of your voice sending a shiver down his spine.
He responds with a smirk, "Oh, you flatter me. Now, let's get your things out of the car and head over there."
He motions for you to open the trunk, letting you help him carry your belongings to his patrol car. As you both move your belongings to his cruiser, Charlie can't help but sneak glances at you, noticing the way your skin glows in the pale moonlight.
He holds open the passenger door of his car for you, his hand lingering for an extra second as you get in. He then walks around to the driver's side and settles in, starting up the engine. The silence in the car feels heavier than usual, the air filled with a mixture of uncertainty and anticipation.
"Thank you, Charlie," The warmth of the car causes you to relax into the plush seats.
As you express your gratitude, a wave of genuine honesty comes over Charlie, his grip on the steering wheel loosening and his shoulders relaxing. He glances at you, noticing your relaxed state in the passenger seat.
His voice, low and sultry, responds, "No problem, Y/N. I'm glad to be able to help." He glances at you, his eyes lingering on your form, appreciating the sight of you in the warm glow of the car.
His voice is seductive, sending shivers down your spine and causing you to clench your legs together. You try to distract yourself, fumbling with the hem of your sweater as you stare out the window, heart pounding loudly in your ears.
Charlie can practically feel the tension growing in the air as he continues to drive, the sound of your heart beating faster does not escape his ear. He steals a glance at you, noting your restless fiddling with the hem of your sweater.
His mind begins to wander and he silently wonders about the effect he's having on you. He decides to test the waters a bit, clearing his throat and saying, "You look a little cold there."
"Oh, uhm, just a little." your voice cracks slightly as you turn to look at him once again.
Charlie smiles at the sound of your cracking voice, feeling almost amused at the way you respond. He keeps his gaze on the road ahead of him, but he notices the way your eyes meet his as you speak to him.
He decides to push further, reaching over to turn up the heat in the car. As he does so, his hand brushes lightly against your knee, a subtle but deliberate action designed to get a reaction from you.
You jump slightly, a soft surprised noise escaping your plush lips. Charlie grins at the sound of your startled gasp, his mind racing with intrigue and curiosity. He notices the way your body jerks at his touch, and he can't help but feel a rush of excitement go through him.
His hand continues to linger on your knee, his thumb gently rubbing small, almost soothing circles into your skin. "Sorry," he murmurs, his voice carrying a hint of playful innocence, "Didn't mean to startle you."
"It's.. okay.." you murmur, eyes focused on the way his finger moves against your skin. The short drive comes to an end as he pulls into the driveway of his house, you bite down on your bottom lip in anticipation as you wait for his next move.
Charlie notices the way you bite down on your bottom lip, his vision fixated on the way your teeth indent your lip. He can't help but think about how badly he wants to pull that lip between his own teeth and taste it for himself.
He parks the cruiser in the driveway and clears his throat, his mind trying to push down the thoughts of your lips. He looks at you, his eyes full of desire, as he says in a slightly hoarse voice, "We're here."
"Okay, shall we go inside?" You click the seatbelt, letting it fall back, turning at the waist to face him.
Charlie quickly notices the movement of your waist, his eyes briefly falling on the way your body shifts to face him. He lets out a low breath, trying to calm himself down, before replying, "Yeah, let's get inside."
He gets out of the car and walks around to your side, holding open the door for you. As you step out, he can't help but let his hand graze over your waist, a brief but purposeful touch.
"You're very gentlemanly," you giggle as he leads you to the door, your bags in hand. "Thank you again, Charlie."
Charlie chuckles softly as you mention his gentlemanly demeanor, feeling amused at the way you respond to him. He unlocks the front door and holds it open for you, gesturing for you to go inside first.
As you step inside, he follows closely behind, placing a hand on the small of your back, and guiding you further into the house. He responds, his voice warm and genuine, "No problem, Y/N, I'm glad I could help."
Charlie notices you leaning into his touch, your body molding into his, and his mind is flooded with thoughts of how badly he wants to wrap his arms around you. He can feel the heat radiating off your body, and it's driving him crazy.
He stops for a moment, his hand still on your back, and looks down at you, his voice soft and husky as he says, "Make yourself at home. Can I get you anything?"
"Could I please get a glass of water?" your tone is soft as he sets your bags next to the door, watching as his muscles flex from underneath his uniform.
Charlie nods at your request, his mind briefly distracted by the way you speak to him in that soft voice. He feels your gaze on his muscular arms and chest, and he can't deny that it makes him feel a little more self-conscious.
He walks over to the kitchen, retrieving a glass and filling it with cold water from the tap. He returns to where you stand and hands you the water, his fingers brushing against yours as he does so.
You slip out of your sweater, revealing your skin-tight undershirt as you take a cautious seat on the couch, not wanting to get *too* comfortable.
As you shed your sweater, revealing the thin undershirt beneath, Charlie can't help but notice the way the material clings to your body, his Adam’s apple bobbing as he observes your every move. His eyes roam over your form, taking in the sight of your curves in the tight fabric, and he feels a wave of desire wash over him.
He watches as you gingerly sit on the couch, trying to maintain a sense of composure, and he wonders how much self-control he has left. He steps into the room, sitting next to you, and giving you a glass of cool water.
"Thank you," you murmur, sweetly smiling at him before taking a long sip of the drink. Your cleavage becomes more exposed to the man in front of you as you set the glass down, you lean back and relax on the couch.
Charlie nearly chokes on his own saliva as he watches your cleavage become more exposed, his eyes fixed on the way the thin fabric clings to your skin, leaving practically nothing to the imagination. He swallows hard, trying to compose himself, but he can feel the tension in the air building between you both.
He shifts on the couch, trying to find a more comfortable position, as he replies, his voice huskier than before, "You're welcome."
"Are you married, sheriff?" You blurt out, heart racing as you contemplate trying to seduce the older man.
Charlie is a little caught off guard by the sudden question, but he composes himself quickly. He gives a soft chuckle, leaning back on the couch and shaking his head.
He responds, his voice low and steady, "No, I'm not married." He looks at you, his eyes lingering on your exposed skin, and he can feel the tension and desire growing between you both.
You move closer to him, your hand falling to his thigh as you press your breasts against his arm. "A girlfriend?" you look at him through your lashes, gaze seductive as you admire his features in the new lighting.
Charlie feels the weight of your hand on his thigh, sparks shooting through his body at your touch. He can't help but let out a low breath as he feels your body pressed against his arm, the sight of your eyes looking up at him through your lashes is almost too much.
He maintains his composure, answering your question with a slightly hoarse voice, "No... no girlfriend." His eyes roam over your face, taking in every feature as he replies.
You lean forward, face mere inches from his. "Then... would you mind if I kiss you?" you slide onto his lap, gently letting your weight rest on him as your hands move to cup his face.
Charlie is taken aback by your bold move, your body suddenly straddling his lap, the heat of your skin burning through the layers of his uniform. He can't help but let out a soft moan at the feeling of your weight on him, unable to control his own reaction to your touch.
He looks at you, his voice a low growl as he responds, "I don't mind at all." His hands come to grip your hips, steadying you on his lap as he awaits your next move.
Leaning forward you capture his lips in a gentle yet passionate kiss, hands moving to keep him close to you, hips rocking against his ever so slightly.
Charlie responds immediately to your kiss, his lips meeting yours in a fierce yet tender embrace. He lets out a low moan as your hips start to rock against him, his hands gripping your hips even tighter, his fingers indenting your skin.
He pulls you closer to him, his tongue tracing the seam of your lips, seeking entrance to the heat of your mouth. His mind is clouded with desire, the taste and feel of you against him is driving him wild.
Your mouth opens for him, your body desperate for more of his touch, you moan at the feeling of his erection growing against your clothed cunt.
With a deep, needy groan, Charlie's arms wrap around you, pulling you closer as your kiss deepens. His hands slip under your shirt, his calloused fingers skimming over the softness of your skin, making you quiver with anticipation. His mouth moves to your neck, kissing and sucking gently, leaving a trail of heat in its wake.
You can feel his hardness pressing against you, and your own need is becoming unbearable. Your hands tangle in his hair as you rock your hips into him, seeking more friction. Charlie's grip on your hips tightens as he feels your body grinding into him, and he can no longer resist the temptation.
His hand slides down to palm your ass, guiding you closer as he grinds back against you, his erection pulsing with desire. His kisses become more urgent, his teeth grazing your earlobe before capturing your ear with his lips, whispering, "I want you, Y/N."
You gasp as his teeth graze your earlobe, the sensation sending a jolt of pleasure through your body. "I want you too, Charlie," you murmur, your breath hot against his neck as you kiss and nip at the sensitive skin there. The intensity of your passion builds as your hands explore his body, feeling the tension in his muscles as he responds to your touch.
Encouraged by your confession, Charlie's hand moves from your ass to the hem of your shirt, deftly sliding it up and over your head, leaving you in only your bra and pants. He kisses down your neck, his warm breath causing goosebumps to form, as he gently unclips the back of your bra, letting it fall away to expose your full, round breasts to the cool air.
He groans in appreciation, his eyes dark with desire as he cups them in his hands, thumbs flicking over your hardened nipples. Your back arches, pressing you into his touch as his mouth finds on the peak, suckling it with an intensity that has you gripping his shoulders tightly, a soft moan escaping your lips.
With a sudden surge of need, Charlie wraps his arms around your waist and effortlessly lifts you from the couch, carrying you down the hallway to his dimly lit bedroom. He sets you gently on the edge of the bed, his eyes never leaving yours as he starts to unbuckle his belt, the sound echoing in the quiet room.
He pulls his shirt over his head, revealing the well-defined muscles and tattoos that cover his torso, making your heart race even faster. You watch, mesmerized, as he unbuttons and pulls down his pants, his erection straining against his boxers.
With trembling hands, you help him remove the last of his clothing, revealing his rock-hard body to the cool air. He returns the favor, taking his time to remove your pants and panties, leaving you nude in front of him. His eyes drink in the sight of you, silent praise for the beauty laid before him.
With a gentle push, Charlie lays you back onto the bed, his eyes never leaving yours as he climbs over you, his body hovering just above yours. He kisses you softly, his mouth exploring yours with a passion that's tender yet fiery, his tongue dancing with yours as his hands continue to roam your body. You can feel the heat from his bare skin as he presses himself against you, his erection nestling between your thighs.
You wrap your legs around him, urging him closer, your hands exploring the firm planes of his back as he kisses down your body, leaving a trail of sweet kisses from your neck to your navel. His mouth finds your clit, his tongue flicking gently against the sensitive nub, making your back arch and your hips buck involuntarily.
He moves in a torturously slow rhythm, building your pleasure until you're panting for more, your nails digging into his shoulders as you beg for his cock. Charlie chuckles against your skin, the vibration sending waves of pleasure through your body. He kisses up your stomach, his eyes locked with yours as he positions himself at your entrance.
With one hand, he guides himself in, his eyes never leaving yours as he sinks into you inch by inch. You gasp as he fills you completely, the feeling of fullness making you whimper with need. He starts to move, his strokes deep and slow, drawing out every ounce of pleasure from your body.
Your hips match his rhythm, the slick sounds of skin on skin filling the room as you both give in to the passion consuming you. The tension builds, coiling tightly in your stomach, until it's almost too much to handle. With a final, powerful thrust, Charlie whispers your name against your ear, sending you over the edge into a climax that leaves you trembling and gasping for breath.
You cling to him as he follows suit, his warmth seeping into you as he releases his own passion, your bodies joined as one. After a moment, he collapses onto the bed beside you, pulling you into his embrace as you both catch your breath, the aftershocks of your shared pleasure still coursing through your veins.

ONE
The same nightmare every night, recurring in your mind as if it were an impossible memory to forget. A large part of the Quileute tribe killed by the hands of the one you will someday love. Not that your love story with Edward Cullen was worth anything. After all, he is a vampire. You are a descendant of a lineage of shapeshifters who transform into wolves. What could go right in this story? You've been driving for about two hours to reach Forks. It's been a month since you started having nightmares involving the tribe to which you belong and your ex-boyfriend. So, you decided to return to Forks to see your friends and those who are like family to you and, if possible, stay as far away as possible from Edward Cullen.
"If you had picked up your phone, Sam, you'd know I'm almost there. But since you didn't, just know I'm entering Forks now. I'll head to La Push as soon as possible." You say, leaving a message on Sam's voicemail. He knew you'd be arriving soon but didn't know exactly when. In fact, it was his idea for you to return to Forks. As your nightmares have become more frequent, you're so sleepy that you can barely tell how you're still managing to drive.
And then, like flashbacks in your mind, your moments with Edward and the pack you were part of come to the surface. You remember how you met Edward amidst a fight between the Quileutes and the Cullen vampires. One of them had accidentally crossed the border that separated the vampires from the wolves. It was chaos. Your father, who was alive at the time, was very angry and considered killing a Cullen to show that invading Quileute territory was a bad idea. Luckily, Jacob's father was more sensible. Edward read your mind for the first time that day. He knew you were curious about what the Cullens were doing crossing the border that separated the two enemies. So later, at the border, he found you and explained. Jasper had been hunting an unknown vampire who had hurt Alice and ended up crossing over. That was the first time you wondered if a vampire was okay, and when Edward noticed your slight concern for Jasper, he believed you were different. Amidst your moment of recollection, you lose concentration. But you only realize this when your car hits someone hard. You're dazed by the impact, but as soon as you look ahead, you feel a certain relief. Edward is right in front of you, staring at you with a curious look as if he doesn't quite understand that it's really you.
"What are you doing, Cullen?" you ask in an enraged tone. Of course you're angry. He's a vampire, unscathed after the collision with your car, while your car and you have suffered some impact. I mean, you can feel blood trickling near your right eye, but the damage to your car is definitely more significant.
"It's going to sound strange. Alice had a vision that saw me doing this as soon as you arrived here. I'm not saying I did it on purpose. In fact, I am hunting. But you really are here." Edward speaks as if he still doesn't quite understand that you're actually in front of him. You take a deep breath, trying to resist the urge to kill him for what happened to your car. In reality, you're unsure whether you should get out of the car or not. You're bleeding, and that could be a challenge for Edward.
"I'm not going to attack you, don't worry. I thought you knew I would never do something like that to you. I mean…" Edward says, and you automatically get out of the car, walking toward him. Something about the proximity between you leaves both of you speechless. You always hated when Cullen listened to your thoughts, and he knows that. The courtesy of having your private thoughts respected seemed to be valid only during your relationship.
"You mean you wouldn't attack anyone unless it was absolutely necessary. I know, I know you, Edward. What surprises me is the fact that you don't seem to know me. You know I hate when you… never mind. Maybe you only respected me while we were together. Now we're strangers to each other." You say, realizing how different he seems, even though he hasn't aged a day since the last time you saw him.
"I'm still the same, Y/N. The same guy you walked away from years ago." Edward speaks softly but with a certain sadness in his words. You look at him, unsure of how to respond. Yes, you ended your brief relationship out of fear of what your father would do to him if he found out.
"Look, I didn't intend to bring the past back. I think it's better if you go your way and I go mine." You say, turning to leave and drive your somewhat damaged car. But Edward appears in front of you before you can open the door.
"Carlisle can take care of that for you. I know he'd be glad to see you again." Edward says, stepping a little closer to you. You stare at him, this time not understanding what he wants. It's obvious he's talking about the injury on your head, but you don't understand why he seems so reluctant to distance himself.
"And I should go to your father figure and ask him to help me based on what? The fact that you and I were together years ago? The fact that my tribe has no idea what happened between us? Maybe I should go ask him how he feels about seeing you about to marry a human. What do you think, Edward?" Your tone is absurdly ironic but realistic. Just the fact that you're here now with Edward could jeopardize everything. If Sam or Jacob see you here with him talking about your past relationship, it could cause a mess. Not to mention that Cullen is now committed.
"I caused this in you. Maybe you should go to Carlisle for the same reason anyone in this town would. You've had an accident, Y/N, you need to take care of this." Edward says, gently touching the area where you got hurt. You let out a soft groan of pain and then pull away.
"How do you suggest I deal with the complications that going to Carlisle would bring me?" You ask, almost grumbling. Edward smiles slightly, as if he even misses these conversations you used to have when you were together.
"Do you remember the farthest spot from here where we used to meet when we were dating? Meet Carlisle there when you can. Unfortunately, Jacob is already on his way here, and I think it's better if I'm not here when he arrives." Edward speaks, and before you can say anything in response, he's already gone.
"Your cowardice is remarkable!" You shout, hoping he hears you. As you turn around, Black is behind you. He's clearly sweaty, must have come running in his human form.
"What happened to you, Y/N?" Jacob Black asks, quickly approaching you. He must be worried because you're injured and apparently talking to yourself in the middle of the road.
"I had an accident. I hit an animal, actually. It was quite a mess. How did you know I was here?" You ask curiously as Jacob gets closer to you, analyzing and sniffing you. You wonder if you smell bad, but then remember that Edward was here just a little while ago.
"Since when did you learn to lie to me? I thought we were honest with each other." Jacob says, looking into your eyes, and you feel guilty for lying to him.
"You want to have a relationship argument here? Then it was better not to have come at all. If you could excuse me." You say, walking past Jacob and heading towards your car, but he gently grabs your hand before you can open the car door.
"I missed you," Jacob says as he gently strokes your hand. You look at him and then walk towards him, embracing him.
"I missed you too, more than you can imagine. How about you drive what's left of my car to La Push, so we can have a better conversation?" You say, hugging him tighter, as if you didn't want to let go. It's strange, but seeing him safe made you feel better. After dreaming so many times about Jacob's death, it's good to see him like this.
"I'll drive your old tin can here. You can sit comfortably in the passenger seat. And don't worry, I'm sure there will be some bandages for you there." He says, kissing your cheek and opening the passenger door for you. You get into the car and watch him enter the car and take the wheel. He starts driving, and you slowly begin to close your eyes, hoping that now that you're in Forks, your nightmares won't come true.

Rumination
Ruminate
(v.) to think deeply about something
After Edward left her, Bella Swan fell apart. Desperate to try and save his eldest daughter, Charlie brings his youngest daughter to Forks to see if she can bring her sister out of her depression.
Now, y/n must try to help her sister find her way back to the light while also trying to navigate her Junior year of high school in the odd town of Forks.

Now playing: Long Way From Home by The Lumineers
Chapter One: Forks, Washington
Moving from Jacksonville, Florida, to the rainiest place in the continental U.S. wasn't an easy adjustment.
Seeing your sister act like the walking dead was even more trying.
All of it was because of that boy, who left her when things got hard. Mom only thought of "young love" and said "a little heartbreak builds character!"
Phil thought Edward was an ass, but that Bella was being a little dramatic about her first heartbreak.
Charlie and I shared a similar sentiment: Edward Cullen better not come back to Forks. If he does, I'll kill him.
I'd get away with it, too. Charlie would shut down the investigation because he'd be glad the boy was gone and wouldn't hurt his daughter any more.
I'd hurt him, especially but not limited to the fact that I wasn't quite sold about Bella falling down the stairs after she ran off. I don't think Edward pushed her, per se, but I don't think they told us the entire truth. Call it a gut feeling, or intuition, or whatever. I don't trust him or his family, aside from the good doctor. He's always seemed the most normal, from what I've heard.
---
"Bella," I call, knocking on the door to her room. It was quit still, and I was waiting impatiently for her to answer. We had to go to school before we were late and got another day of detention.
"Bella!" I shout, knocking on the door again. I hear some rustling and watch as the knob turns, only to find my sister with her pajamas on, her hair a mess, and looking like she had been through a hurricane.
She blinked owlishly at me, almost like she was deciphering who I was.
I sighed through my nose, trying to be sympathetic to her. I guided her to the bathroom and made her brush her teeth while I untangled her hair. In an attempt to keep it from getting ratty again, I braided it back tightly and wrapped put oils on the ends to try and keep it from frizzing up.
"Sorry," she told me, staring blankly at the mirror. All the anger in my chest deflated, and for a second, I felt as hollowed out as she looked.
Hollow, empty, devoid of soul.
That's how she looked.
Anger ignited in my chest again, but not at her. At her shitty ex-boyfriend who left her in the woods because he was a coward and couldn't break up with her properly.
"Don't worry about it," I told Bella, "I'll get Charlie to write a note or something. I guess the driveway was extra icy this morning."
---
The school day passed without much happening.
Bella's friend Mike tried to get me to pass something on to her, but I couldn't hear what he said before Jessica pulled him away without a glance at me.
I thought she was stuck up, but she wasn't a bad person.
Lunch was subpar again, the cafeteria food being lukewarm at best and cold in the middle of the mashed potatoes.
"I wonder if Charlie could threaten them into making the food better," I wondered aloud, poking at the food on my plate.
Bella remained frozen in time, staring at the seat beside me as if she was waiting for someone to appear there.
I sighed, shaking my head.
I hummed to myself as I continued to poke and prod at my food u til the bell rang to get back to class.
---
A few days pass.
Nothing changes.
Bella's still depressed and hardly living in the real world. She wakes up screaming from night terrors and Charlie's started to sleep in the couch so he doesn't have to get up from his bed anymore.
I've started to develop insomnia, I think.
I don't sleep until the early hours of the morning, since that's usually when Bella stays asleep, too.
I'm awake from six thirty in the morning until two in the morning.
My routine consists of waking up, getting dressed and ready for school, then getting Bella up and dressing her. It's about forty minutes allotted to each of us, and then an extra ten to get Bella's lunch ready and packed.
I go to school with her, go about my monotonous but peaceful day, eat a silent lunch with my sister, finish my day, and go back home.
When I'm home, I work on anything I didn't finish already. Sometimes I go in for work at the 24/7 diner at the corner of Wheatgrass and 74th, working the night shifts and getting home in time for Bella to stay asleep. I make my lunch from the food I got to take home from the Roy's Diner, I take a scalding hot shower, and I pass out for the four hours before I have to wake up again.
---
Angela asked me how Bella was.
She seemed like the only one that truly cared about my sister.
Jessica was sour because she was ignored. Mike only wanted in her pants and was stringing Jessica along. And Eric was nice, but really only cared about the news paper and Angela.
"Is she getting any better?" Angela asked me, sitting down beside me at the table I was reading at.
"Not really." I replied, looking up at her for a minute. "Charlie's about to send her back to Jacksonville."
"Oh," Angela said, looking sad at the news. "Is there anything I can do for her? I try to invite her out, but she never shows."
I shrugged, "Not much to do. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make her drink."
Angela nodded, her lips thinning for a moment before she got back up.
She patted my shoulder before she left, and I immersed myself back into my reading.
---
Working the night shift at Roy's was never boring. We got loads of interesting people here. Charlie called the diner "a drunk's dream." Sure, it was a little sleazy and a lot of greasy food, but it wasn't horrible to be in. If you ignored the obnoxious 70s disco decor.
A duo of two men were sat in my section, both of them looking like hell.
"Welcome to Roy's, I’m y/n. What can I get started for you?" I asked, my peppy customer service voice grating on my own nerves so late at night.
They both had tanned skin in shades of bronze, and long, dark hair. One had it pulled up in braids down his back, the other's hair loose.
"A Pepsi, please," the first man said, and he looked to the other boy, "Jared, what do you want?"
Jared ordered a strawberry milkshake.
"Be right back!" I told them, spinning on my heel and going to get their drinks.
"How old do you think those guys in your section are?" Chelsea asked as I filled up the drinks. She was staring at the two I had just spoken to, and I shrugged.
"Dunno, don't really care." I said, "They look grown enough, I guess."
"Grown enough?" She parroted, laughing, "They all have to be at least twenty!"
Again, I just shrugged.
"Ugh, no fun." Chelsea said, rolling her eyes and disappearing into the back to go gossip with the cooks.
"Here are those drinks," I said, setting them down before each of the boys. "Anything to eat?"
"I want two number twos with lettuce, tomatoes, unions, and pickles, please, and a large fry." Jared told me, and I wrote it all down quickly. Two double patty burgers and a large fry was a lot to get down, but boys had large stomachs, I guess.
Sam spoke next, ordering, "A number three with tomatoes and lettuce only, with a number four with everything and a large fry, please."
Spicy chicken sandwich with everything on it and a pulled pork sandwich, I wrote, then said, "Be right back, then."
I handled my other tables until the food was ready, and I had to ask Kass to help me carry it all. When I set the food down, in front of them, they both thanked me and started eating. I grabbed their cups to refill their drinks, and when I was back to the table, most of their food was already gone.
"You two sure can put food away, wow," I said, setting the drinks down again. Jared had ordered another milkshake, and a water. Sam still got the Pepsi.
Sam smiled, looking weary but better. Color had returned to his face, and his eyes looked brighter.
"We're growing boys," Jared joked, and I smiled.
When they left, after ordering a slice of pie, I got a nice tip and a doodled wolf on the check.
---
Bella went out with Jessica to see a movie, I think. I wasn't paying a lot of attention when she said it, I had a mountain of homework from physics and not nearly enough time to do all of it.
Charlie found Bella's wallet and told me to go give it to her, so I went to Port Angeles to find her.
I saw Jessica first, and she was watching in mute horror as Bella spoke to some strange man on a motorcycle.
"Bella!" I yelled, people glancing my way as I stormed up to her to snag her by her arm and drag her away.
For a moment, she looked hopeful, like she was expecting to see someone else.
"Oh my god, you're stupid!" I yelled, dragging her back to my car. "Do you not think about anything anymore? He could have kidnapped you! He could have done worse!"
"I just-" she caught herself, flinching, "I thought I knew him."
"Good lord," I said, swearing at her for her recklessness, "I thought Charlie would have told you about stranger danger, but I guess not! Maybe it's time for a refresh!"
Jessica trailed behind us as I berated Bella and lectured her over the dangers of strangers and dark alleyways and motorcycles.
I folded my sister into the passenger seat of my car, ordering Jessica in the back seat.
"But, uh, what about Bella's car..?" Jessica asked, staring at me.
"I'll get it tomorrow. I don't trust Bella not to do something else stupid with it now." I huffed, reaching over to buckle Bella's seatbelt and peeling out of the parking lot.
I dropped Jessica home safely and pulled into the driveway, marching back inside.
"Your daughter has lost all her sense!" I told Charlie, "Dad, you need to tell her about stranger danger again before she gets herself kidnapped!"
"Y/n, now wait a minute-" he started, glancing at the door as my sister came stalking in behind me.
"Bella, you wanna tell me what your sister is talking about?" Charlie asked, and I huffed as she just sighed.
She explained and got a stern talking to, but I wasn't satisfied.
I started going everywhere with her, after that.
When we weren't in classes, I was attached to her hip. Hell, I even started sleeping in her room with her.
She still kicks.
But the nightmares become less frequent when we have sleepovers every night.
I make her take care of herself by doing it for her, forcing her to brush her teeth and wash her face as I do her hair in the mornings and at night, packing a healthy lunch for her, and forcing her to keep up with her studies.
It's exhausting, but it's better than staying up until I cant anymore, and it's slowly getting me my sister back.
And then Jacob comes back into the picture
He and Bella are fixing up some old bikes. I have no interest in them, so I sit with them and listen as they talk.
Sometimes I draw some still life pictures of them, sitting together and working.
Sometimes I sleep.
Sometimes I do my homework like a good student.
Slowly, I started to trust Jacob with my sister. I started picking up more daytime shifts at Roy's, and I started to relax.
The nightmares still happen, but they've gone down to about twice a week now.
Sometimes she only wakes up crying, others it's the screaming again.
But progress is progress.
---
"Y/n, I sat a group of three in your section. Booth in the far corner, babe." Makayla told me as I passed the host stand.
"Thanks, Mak," I said, hurrying to drop off my drinks to some travelers before going to my new table.
Ryan comes barreling my way to drop some food off, and I spin around him to avoid knocking into him and his tray of food. I get to the booth in the back, seeing some familiar faces.
"Hey guys," I smile, recognizing two of my favorite customers, "I haven't seen you two in a minute, how've you been?"
Sam, who I learned later from Charlie, had been the one to find Bella after she was dumped in the woods by Edward. I didn't care if he knew who I was or not, not really, because I knew who he was. I couldn't do much for him, but showing my gratitude for saving my sister through the Family and Friend's discount was enough for me.
"So busy," Jared complains, pointing an accusing finger at Sam, "He's had me doing chores for days and makes me take more if I don't do my homework! He's like my mom now!"
Sam rolls his eyes as I laugh, reaching out to flick Jared in the forehead. The two of them have been coming to
"You're working with me, I'm responsible for you. So sad for you." Sam says dryly, and I shake my head at their antics.
"Strawberry shake and Pepsi?" I ask them, my eyes tuning towards their new friend.
He looks rough, almost like Bella did. His long hair is pulled back in a hastily done bun, and his eyes are sharp and attentive. He looks at me oddly, his brows slightly drawn together and his eyes squinting slightly.
"What can I get for you?" I ask him, an odd feeling rising in my chest as I meet his eyes.
He's quiet for a moment before he takes a deep breath and orders a water.
I nod, taking down his drink order and turning towards the kitchen.
"Ooh, your friends brought someone new!" Chelsea crooned, coming to drape her arms over my shoulders as she watches me fill up the two cups in my hands. I roll my eyes.
"Chels, why are you always back here when you're supposed to be doing your work?" I ask, dragging her towards the milkshake machine as I fill up Jared's strawberry shake.
"I'm doing my side work! I got cut early." She says, smacking her gum in my ear. I cringe, reaching back to push her face away from mine.
"Love that for you, girl, but get your smacking away from my ears, please." I told her, hearing her laugh as I add a cherry to the milkshake and a drizzle of chocolate syrup. She walks off to go finish cutting her lemons and I put all three drinks on the tray to bring them out.
I set down the drinks and milkshake, turning the tray under my arm as I pull out my note pad to take down their food order.
"Number three, no unions, large fry, and a chicken sandwich, unions, tomatoes, lettuce, with a large fry." Jared rattles out, and I jot it down quickly. I turn to Sam and notice a distinct lack of his friend beside him.
"Chicken tenders and a large fry, number two and a basket of onion rings, please," Sam says, adding, "Paul will have the same as me, but without the onion rings and with fried pickles instead."
I nod, writing it all down.
"You want me to put a slice of pie in and bring it out later?" I ask, seeing Jared nod enthusiastically.
"That'd be great, y/n, thanks." I again nod at Sam's words, turning away and hustling to the kitchen to put in their order.
I service my other tables while the boys' food is being made, bustling around my section. I'm keenly aware of eyes on me, but I figure it's just someone waiting to get my attention so I can give them a refill.
When their food is ready, I bring it out to Sam and his group.
I set each of the baskets down before each of the boys, picking up their cups and going to get them refills.
They each eat quickly, and every time I pass their table, my skin prickles.
I try to see if it's one of them that needs my attention, but each time I look over, they're all engrossed in their food, or a conversation. Any time I look over, they're in tense conversation. I try and keep my distance so I don't disturb them, but I make sure to keep attentive to their cups and plates.
I sigh after a while, deciding that I must be making things up. No one seemed to be looking at me.
They ate quickly and I ran them their check. I was left with a good tip and a smiley face on the paper of the check beside Sam's signature.

When I was finally cut to go home, I took a long shower and collapsed in my bed. When my eyes closed, I saw a picture in my mind's eye.
Dark eyes framed by thick lashes. My vision slowly panned out, and I saw dark eyebrows. There was a slight wrinkle between them, like the person was frowning. Slowly, my mind put together a strong nose, then high cheekbones, full lips, and a strong jaw. Finally, I saw long, dark hair framing this handsome face.
Slowly, I put a name to the face I saw in my mind.
Paul.
Why I was seeing Sam and Jared's friend, I had no clue. There was no denying that he was attractive, though. His angular face and sharp eyes made him look uninviting, but his sullen demeanor was softened by his full, almost pouty lips and well kept hair. His lack of facial hair made him look younger compared to Jared, who's scruffy chin made him look closer to twenty than to seventeen. The long, silky hair on his head had been messily pulled back, yes, but it served to make him look almost boyish, also.
I was pulled out of my thoughts when my door creaked open, and I peeled my eyes awake to see Bella standing in the doorway. Wordlessly, I pulled back the blankets around me and scooted over. She shut the door behind her and fell into my bed, sighing as I reaching out to pull the blanket over her shoulders.
I fell asleep shortly after, Bella's breathing steady almost immediately.

Author's Note:
Hey guys!! This is my first fic ever! Please lmk what you think about it 🥰
Also, I plan to change some things about the story. I'm going on a mix of the books and movies, but I plan to change the timeline a little, change the logistics a bit, and make some of the characters a bit older because I don't like how literally everyone is like 16?? Anyway, I'll probably put out a chapter of all the stuff I change to get some feedback and stuff

Bella had dreaded this moment numerous times. When Edward would walk up to her and announce that he was done, that he doesn't love her anymore. She made countless scenarios, and each one seemed more miserable than the last.
It surely had to break her heart. Shatter her self-esteem, drag her down to the point the simple act of breathing was plunging a burning dagger through her heart. Bella had put so much into Edward, all her hopes, dreams, time, and attention. Losing him seemed like a doomed battle; she would scold herself anytime she thought of the possibilty. It was all she could rely on, or so she thought.
Being with him soon became more of a constant worry and anxiety than a real relationship. The way she dressed was calculated ; the way she presented herself was calculated ; her breathing was calculated. It felt like Edward's eyes were constantly judging her, expecting certain efforts. Making sure she was worth his time. That she was worth something.
That's why her fingers gripped the wheel viciously as she stared in Edward's way. She didn't want to go. Stepping outside of her truck was similar to accepting the inevitable. It shouldn't feel right, it seemed almost offensive to experience it this way. But it did, surrendering yourself to the fact you know there's nothing you can do to prevent a catastrophe felt sinfully peaceful. She didn't need to fight it. So, she let go of the wheel, and let the cold wind decide.
Bella walked to him and stood a few feet away. The way he looked at her, it was like he knew she understood what was going to happen. But like an executioner, it didn't awaken pity in him. No, it gave him full vindication. So, he straightened, looked at her way firmer than he had ever been before and struck.
"We have to leave Forks." He said, final.
Bella's breath hitched in her throat, bracing herself tightly. But... it didn't feel so bad. No, it didn't feel like the world was crushing down on her. It didn't feel like the world had stopped. The wind was still blowing, the branches still rustled, and the birds still chirped.
"When... you say we..." She asked. But why would she ? Why torture herself with further confirmation ? She knew it would happen, so why spread salt on an open wound ? It wasn't foolishness, it was... eagerness to be released. And God did she knew what she'll once she is set free.
"I mean my family and myself." He nodded, voice detached.
Bella's gasp came out as a suprise. So, so softly relieved. And for the first time in what felt like forever near Edward, she smiled. Almost thankful. Grateful for him to step back, the moon moving aside to let the real light of the sun shine on her skin. She never thought she would miss it... but how could she not ? When your face was appearing in her mind.
Her best friend. The sun she had deprived herself of for so long. Her heart lunged in her chest, and all she had to say to the man in front of her was a deeply sincere...
"Thank you."
Before uncermoniously turning around and rushing to her truck. Jumping above a few showing roots and clumsily putting her keys right and opening the door way too wide for her slender form to slide in. She was coming to you, like you were all that mattered to her. And in a way, you were.
Your family had moved to Forks for peace. But for you, it only brought you loneliness you couldn’t manage to shake. It wasn’t long before Bella stumbled into your life too. She had stepped inside the school, greeted by the soft murmur of conversation and the buzzing hallways. You were the first to notice her, she was too focused on her own misery. Bella was sitting near the window, her long, dark hair spilling over her shoulders, her eyes focused on the pages of a thick book.
You hesitated, feeling an odd pull toward her but unsure whether to approach. Something about the way Bella seemed both entirely absorbed in her world yet unapproachable and slightly cold. You ended up choosing a seat at the far end, away from Bella, and found yourself stealing glances at the other woman. Bella caught your eye once, and shockingly, she gave you a soft, sincere smile before returning to her book.
Bella was always there, reading or scribbling in a notebook of her own. It wasn’t long before they started to exchange small nods or brief pleasantries—nothing too personal, just the comfort of shared space. And how could she not become your friend when you would stay by her side, even in silence, and converse with her about common interests? The music, the books... even the ones you didn't know, you let her show what she loved, and in return, she did the same. Harmless gossip about the Cullens, or support when the boys would get too insistent, threaded your bonds tightly.
And even though Edward entered the picture, some subtle moments made Bella's heart grow fonder of you. Beyond a simple friendship. Far from it, really.
I like the way your hand fits in mine... You had remarked once when you were walking through Port Angeles, and it was quite a busy day. Since you didn't want to lose each other in the crowd, you intertwined your fingers. She remembers your smile once you had put some distance with hustle and bustle and noticed you kept holding hands. It was such a sweet smile, knowing you had a beacon to ground yourself.
Bella looked down too and noticed how natural it all felt for her. They fit so perfectly together, natural in the peculiar way human hands are pieced together. Your hand was close to her size, closer than Edward's anyway, whose big hand engulfed her each time. It felt light and free, like she could let go if she wanted. But in the hand, you two held hands until you made it back to the car, dusty pink powdered her cheeks as she smiled the whole way.
Honestly, you were a huge inspiration for this ! She had been looked up upon. And it didn't even feel that. You didn't hold any adoration for the ideal way she would look, like a model all powdered up and dressed so prettily for a chosen lighting and a specially created setting. No, you had seen her for who she was, flaws and quirks.
Some parts thought she would be scared and embarrassed to see you read her like an open book. Like you could paint her on every wall of town for anyone to see. But you kept it all to yourself. Your little secret. And as she felt her heart miss a few beats, maybe she could keep that a secret too.
But... for a secret to exist, there must be two people. It would be unfair to you to keep you in the dark. So when she arrived at your house, she did not hesitate to park right in front of it. She did not hesitate either to enter your home, the way she had done it hundreds of times. But the moment your scent engulfed her, she froze mid-step. Would you reject her too…?
"Y/N ?" She called almost shyly, standing in the hallway, searching for any sign of you. And you didn't keep her waiting.
"Bella ?! No way, I'm so happy to see you !" You squealed and rushed up to her. It was so you. It was a Saturday, so obviously you got dressed in your matching oversized shirt, which spelled "I'm troubles," while she owned the one "where I go, troubles follow". You had been so happy when you bought it; she had to wear it when you hung around; it was mandatory. You also carry a fluffy pillow and obviously were about to start a self-care afternoon.
She smiled fondly and opened her arms for you. "Hi you..." Bella wanted to ask if she was interrupting, but she also damn knew she couldn't handle being away from you right now. As you hugged her tightly back, you beamed.
"Please tell me you can stay ! Let's have girl time ! Oh no, wait... you probably have to meet up with Edward..." You had smiled softly, understanding, but it was still hard for you to deal with the fact you didn't see your best friend as much as before.
Bella nibbled on her lip, feeling absolutely stupid for the way she had put you aside while all she wanted to do was spend a moment of her time with you. But lost in her own apprehension, some of your messages were left unread, and some plans ended up canceled. And what hurt her more was the fact you never held that against her.
This was the time to make it right. So, she gave you a kind smile and said. "I'm all yours for today."
That gasp of yours held all the promises of an amazing afternoon. Before she knew it, you had pulled her inside and decreed she had to put on comfy clothes. That's how she ended up in unusually colorful clothes.
The afternoon was spent doing multiple, simple activities. Putting up Bella's favorite music and playing board games together. She had laughed so much when you started making up rules since you had lost the instructions.
"Oh shush, I would make an awesome board game designer." You grinned. Which she only responded to with a chuckle and a shake of her head.
Then Bella told you she could stay for the night. Though you missed the little nibble on her lip as she nervously waited for your answer. You. Were. Ecstatic.
You had jumped right up from your chair and proclaimed. "Let's start right now !" And ran off to your room.
Bella blushed at your eagerness. She watched you bolt to your room, lips parted; the words she barely realized she meant were locked on the tip of her tongue. There you were, so happy to spend time with her, like there was nowhere else you'd rather be. How there was nowhere she would rather be. Her heart felt so heavy in her chest, not out of shame or self-consciousness. No, it felt so heavy with all the feelings she held for you.
She spent the next fifteen minutes helping you build a fort in the middle of the living room with her heart pumping blood right in her temples. Her eyes couldn't stray away from your face for too long; she felt like time would be wasted if it was not spent admiring you. God, was she like that every time she had a crush ? Well, every time she... loved someone. Mindlessly, lost in her own hurricane of emotions, she kept grabbing the same pillow over and over again despite your attempts to place it in the perfect spot.
"Stop stealing my pillow!" You had laughed so sweetly, stopping her thoughts right in her tracks. Bella chuckled gently, smiling warmly at you. As you took the pillow once again, she rested her head against your shoulder gently. Her long brown hair cascaded down your shoulder, and the shiver that ran down your body made her own cheek blush.
Her eyes gazed up at you, first meeting your lips; their soft, pinkish shade seemed so soft to the touch. Her eyes followed their course up the curves of your face, your chin, your nose, your eyes... like it was the first time she watched you so close. You were ready to brag about the benefits of pillow forts when you caught her gaze.
You froze, lips still parted from the lack of words. Bella maintained your gaze, spurred on by a rush of adrenaline, courage rushing through her veins. Both your hearts were ready to explode in your chests.
"Mh…" You looked away. "So... how... how come you ain't with Edward tonight ?"
Her brows raised gently, caught off guard. She should tell you. Of course she should; you're her best friend. But the response she hoped was far from friendship. Not pity, not comfort, not reassurance. But the same eagerness and enthusiasm you showed when she came here uninvited. You welcomed her with open arms, her messy, authentic self. With a soft, sharp inhale, she sat up and looked down.
"We broke up. He doesn't want me..." She bit on her lip in anticipation.
She saw the way your pretty eyes widened, the slight lean back of your head as you took in the shocking news. Bella could read your mind at this instant: how could Edward leave your beautiful and amazing best friend? But God, did she pray your intentions were less pure than protecting your friend. Her breath was shallow as she stared at you, her own expectations raging in her brain. Until she heard your little stuttered words.
"Well... too bad, y-you just have to stay with me…!"
Bella let out a shaky breath and smiled gently, more to herself than to you. And neither of you expected it, but none of you could deny the softness of each other's lips. Bella had leaned in and left a bold peck on your mouth, drawing a little gasp out of your lips.
She pulled back almost immediately, sitting straight as a streetlight as her cheeks burned bright red. Surprisingly, you weren't caught off guard as you thought you would be. No, instead you felt... bashful.
Involuntarily, you let out a giggle and turned your head away like a shy Victorian girl. Bella found you so cute right now; she couldn't help the wide, bright smile that curved her lips in a fond way. Encouraged by your chuckles, she scooted closer and started peppering your cheeks, nose, and forehead with kisses. Your hands rested on her arms as you laughed a little louder.
"I told ya he was a jerk." You smirked, though your cheeks were bright red.
Bella chuckled too. Sitting back straight, she took your hand and pressed a little kiss on your knuckles.
"You're right, I just have to stay with you then, love." She winked, drinking in your little giggle.

"Let's run away together."
These were the words Jasper told you a few years ago. You met each other at school, you were sixteen, almost seventeen, and he was supposed to be eighteen. You arrived in the middle of the semester of senior year. Due to you amazing intellect, you were a year advanced and you found yourself in the same english literature class as him.
"Alright class, we have a new student joining us for the rest of the year." Mrs. Danvers told and you entered the class.
The sound of your heels click-clacked on the ground as you entered in the class, a low waisted blue jean along with a black off shoulder with pale pink furr at the top. Your hand bag in your right hand was made of pale pink furr to match your top and your school hand bag was around your left shoulder. You had a golden necklace with a heart locket, a bunch of golden bracelet around both wrists and very rosy cheek. Overall you guessed ut, you looked like the perfect mean, fake and plastic girl.
"Hi, I'm Y/n L/n/n I moved here from New York and I'm sixteen, almost seventeen." Your voice was sweet like honey and suddenly every boys of the class were drooling.
"Thank you miss. Y/n/n you can sit beside Longbottom." The teacher told and a red head boy quickly rose his hand to the annoyance of the rest of the class. The girls because you were competition, and the boys they were jealous.
As you reached your sit, you saw your new sitmate move the chair for you and you widened your eyes a little before letting out a soft giggle. At this sound every boys of the class awwed while the girls huffed as you sat down.
From the back of the class, Jasper heard his brother, Edward, scoff before rolling his eyes and the blond empath looked at you once again. He didn't knew why but he couldn't feel anything from you. He was curious, because he couldn't feel anything from you but you weren't numb either. It was as if you were feeling something but you weren't. Then Jasper realize that in fact you were feeling something, he was the one not feeling anything anymore. From the moment you stepped inside of the classroom, everyone else's emotions disappeared and only your calm state stayed. At the end of the class, Jasper wanted to greet you, only to be blocked by a bunch of boy running to carry your bag or propose you a bunch of snack and you disappeared between the hue of students.
The next time Jasper saw you it was at lunch. At first he didn't notice you, but when Bella's akwardness toward Mike and Carter's love sick feeling for Alice suddenly disappear, Jasper couldn't help but look up. And there you were, surrounded by a bunch of guys as they were holding your bag, trail of food or handing you some homeworks to copy.
"Please not the new girl." Jessica groaned and everyone at the table looked toward you.
"I had a class with her this morning. I heard that her father was the CEO of a car company that was moving here. She is so spoiled, in class she almost crying because Jane took her notebook and wouldn't give it back when she asked." Jessica started her daily gossip and Edward rolled his eyes.
"She can't fool just anyone with that smile." The mind reader huffed as you passed beside their table.
"Hey Y/n !" Mike grinned like a lost puppy and you looked up from your pink cell phone toward the sound.
"Oh hey, Micheal right ? In spanish ?" You tilted your head and Jasper suddenly felt like his dead heart skipped a bit.
"It's Mike actually... but it's fine ! Wanna sit with us ?" The boy grinned and you looked around the table.
Then there was a silence as you glanced at everyone, noticing their rather annoyed or uneasy expression on their face before that your e/c eyes met his golden eyes. It was as if the world stopped, you held your breath in aww as you looked at his golden lock and his sharp jawline. He had a pale skin, very pale, like three other people at the table but his looked the best of them all. His golden orbs were shining due to the light of the cantine and you couldn't help but want to press your pink glossed lips over his.
"Y/n ?" Mike called and you snapped out of your trance, looking back at him with an apologetic smile.
"I'm sorry. But I don't think I'll sit here." You walked away and the group could here the boys bombarding you with invitation to lunch as you went to the back of the cantine.
"Shoot ! Man ! It's your weird hair that scared her !" Eric teased and the two boys started to bicker.
"She doesn't seem that bad...?" Angela hesitated and Carter passed his arm around Alice's shoulders who looked tense.
"I don't think we should be friend her." The petite vampire expressed and Jasper frowned.
"Why ?" He asked and Alice shared a glance at Edward before looking back at her untouched trail of food.
"Just because."
After this day Jasper would see you everywhere, in the corridor, the parking lot, in class, he even saw you in the forest a few time, by a lake that flowed close to the town. Yet even with Alice and Edward's warning he couldn't help but want to see you. Whenever you were around, he would feel at peace. So he started to chance his path at school, passing by your locker so you would be near by, waiting until you start to head inside to head in english, parking his car near yours every morning. He wanted to be beside you as much as possible but still respect your boundaries.
"Alright class ! Today we'll start a few group project about the book rode in class. You will be paired up by two and work on a presentation of one of the book we studied in class." Mrs. Danvers announced and you looked up from your pink fluffy notebook.
"Before anyone ask. I am making the group and I want no complaining." The teacher told and everyone groaned in annoyance.
"I said no complaining ! Alright now let's form the group." The brunette teacher announced and started to name a few people of the class.
You weren't expecting anything. You would go along with anyone. You just hoped that you wouldn't be paired with Edward Cullen or Jasper Hale, even if he was handsome, because strangely enough, their entire family and himself hated you for some reasons.
"Tonny and Mark." Mrs. Danvers told and Tonny, your sitmate, groaned.
"Sad we could have been together !" He told you and you sent him a half sad smile.
"That's unfortunate." You replied and he slouched on his chair.
"Y/n and Jasper." The teacher announced and you felt your blood run cold.
Turning around toward the said blond, you ignored the whine of the boys and your eyes locked with his for the second time since you moved here. You couldn't read him. You didn't knew if he felt happy or horrified that he was paired up with you. Yet you knew that it was definitly not going to well between the two of you. He hated you for whatever reason and your father hated boys in general.
At the end of the class, you went to your locker, followed by your usual among of boys and put your english stuff in your locker before seeing Jasper approching you from afar. You quickly told the four boys around you to go and fixed your high poney tail before that the godlike blond stops before you.
"Hey." Jasper greeted you and you sent him a shy smile with a tiny wave.
"Hey, Jasper right ?" You asked. It was a habit of yours, always checking if you had their name correctluy first.
"Right, and you're Y/n right ?" He asked back even if he knew it.
"Right, that's me." You let out a shy, uneasy laugh and the boy smiled softly.
"So for the english project, are we doing it at your house or mine ?" Jasper asked and you frowned slightly.
"Cloud we do it at yours ? My father isn't really happy when I bring someone home, especially when it's a boy you know." You looked and away and Jasper nodded.
"Right okay. So this afternoon at mine ?" He clarified and you nodded quickly.
"Yes ! This afternoon, at yours !" You confirmed with an excited shime in your eyes and Jasper chuckled.
You were cute. He could feel how excited you were. He didn't knew if it was because you wanted to work of if it was because you would get to see his house, or even if it was because you wanted to spend some time with him, but he hoped it was the later, because he couldn't wait to spend some time with you.
So for the rest of the afternoon he waited patiebtly for the end of class to arrive and once he finished his biology class, he quickly made his way to the parking lot, seeing you already waiting by your car.
"Hey !" You greeted and he smiled a little.
"Hey, ready to go ?" Jasper asked and you nodded closing your cell phone before putting it in your hand bag.
Luckily, today your father was the one to drop you off at school which mean you didn't need ton follow Jasper in your car but could simply ride with him to his house. On the way there, the two of you had a short discussion. You discovered that he had two more sibling as a plus of Edward, Carter and Alice and that they liked to go hiking on sun days. You learned that the loved to have game nights when everyone was at home and you couldn't help but smile at the way he was talking about his family with such a big smile on his face.
"What about you ? Anything to share ?" Jasper offered and you thought, your eyes drifting to the scenery around you.
"Well, my mother dies when I was seven, since then I live with my father. In contrary of what people could think, he's a very present father even if he's busy with work. Sometimes, when he comes home, we have a few dinner together and we always share a few joke. He loves to bake so whenever we can' we're baking together ! We also paint a lot together, whivh you saw me a bunch of time by the river painting the scenery." You grinned and Jasper's eyes widened.
"How do you know that I see you ?" The golden eyes boy questioned and you giggled.
"You're not very well hidden by the trees you know ?" You teased and if he could, Jasper would have blush in embarrassement.
"It's okay, you can join me next time Jaz." You giggled before realizing how you called him.
"I mean-"
"It's alright. You can call me that." Jasper cut your apologize and you mirrored his smile.
"Alright." You looked back at the road as a soft music was playing from the radio.
You couldn't wait to know him more.
Then you and Jasper got closer. At first it was only a few shy 'hi' or tiny waves but after two weeks on working on your project together, Jasper would pick you up everyday, and bring you home everyday. At first your father didn't like it, but he came around eventually. After three weeks of hanging out together, Jasper told you that he was a vampire. He knew it was dangerous but when you squealed and told him how cool this was, the empath couldn't help but love you even more.
"You can't be serious ?" Edward glared and Jasper huffed.
"Yes I am, I don't see why Bella could have dinner with us but Y/n can't." The empath replied angrily.
"Come on, you should have told us sooner, Esme didn't cook enough for two ! And Alice already told you to not hang out with that girl ! She is dangerous !" The golden brunette scolded.
"We all know that Bella never eat everything Esme made and no Y/n is not ! No one of you even tried to befriend her ! And what did you even see to be so reculant into meeting her ?" Jasper glared toward his sister.
"Jasper don't talk to your sister like that !" Esme stepped in and the blond rolled his eyes.
He had enough. Everytime you would come to his house for the english project, his family would say rude comment regarding you. From the way you dress for Alice to your weak looking body from Emmett to your parfum from Rosalie, they were always criticizing you somehow and each time Jasper could feel how it upset you or made you sad. He had enough of it.
"What did Alice see for you all to be so rude with Y/n !? Even you are Esme when we know that you are the sweetest woman on walking on Earth !" Jasper pointed out and the rest of the family stayed silent. Even Bella was there and she looked incredibly uncomfortable.
Then Emmett moved to open the door, revealing your figure about to knock at the door. He boy shoot you a tiny glare and you sent him an uneasy smile with a hint of fear.
"How long have you been standing there ?" The bearlike vampire asked and you shifted nervously under his gaze.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to overheard anything but then I heard shouting and I didn't want to knock in the middle of an argument. I can leave if you-"
"Yes."
"No." Jasper glared at Rosalie, who rolled her eyes, before sitting and joining you at the entrance.
Looking at you, Jasper frowned a little as he notived how you weren't wearing your usual tight shirt with dentel and a vest but you had a fletter sleeve white t-shirt instead, your usual low waisted jean was replaced by a high waisted jean with large leg, your heels were replaced by a pair of sneakers and your usual high pony tail was down, letting your hair cover your neck as much as possible, blocking the slight ordor of the different fragrance you used tonight. Jasper noticed how you tried your best to hide the freckles on your face with some make as one time Bella made abad comment about them. He noticed how you changed your entire look just to please his family's taste and he hated it. He loved how you would always ask him to tie your hair for you, or how he would count your freckles when he was bored.
"You look different." He acknowledged and you smiled brightly, but he could see it was fake.
"Yeah ! I didn't want to wear my usual style today ! Trying something new you know. Do you like it ?" You asked hopefully and Jasper frowned slightly as he heard Edward's snicker in the living room.
"It's... unusual for sure ?" The blond vampire replied as he moved out of the way, inviting you in.
"I must say, this smells really good Mrs. Cullen." You tried to compliment as everyone sat around the dinning table.
"Surely it smells better than you." Rosalie muttered, but made it loud enough as you could hear it from your sit and your smile fell a little while Jasper glared.
During the dinner the mood was tense. You knew it was because of you and Jasper could feel your guilty from across the room as you slowly ate your food.
"So Y/n ?" You immediately rose your head and looked toward Carter curiously.
"Jasper told us your mother was dead when you were younger. It must have hurt." The bruney male pointed out and you let out an uneasy laugh while looking away.
"Yeah it was." You muttered.
"How did she die ?" Bella asked blantly and you held your breath a little, image of your mother's death replaying in your head.
"She hum... she died in a car accident." You tried your best to not stutter and Jasper looked at you with worry, all he wanted was to comfort you.
"How old were you again ?" Edward smirked slightly, keeping the topic on.
"I was seven." You lowered your head and they hummed.
"That's young, how can you be so okay with it ?" Alice asked and Jasper glared at his siblings.
"Guys, stop." He growled lowly.
"No no, we want to know how did she cope with it all." Rosalie gave you a sickening sweet smile and you felt your stomach fell inside of you.
"I... Well I guess it was with time. And I was young, I didn't knew my mom very well-"
"So you didn't felt a tiny bit sad ?"
"What ? Oh no I felt devastated-"
"Were you in the car accident too ?"
"Yeah I was-"
"But you're fine ? Don't you think it's a little unfair for your mother ?"
"Guys. Stop. That."
"I think-"
"Don't you wish it was you ?"
"You don't even have a scar."
"I fould feel guilty if I were you."
"That's kind of unsensitive if you don't."
"I'm sorry. My father want me home." You stood up quickly without even looking up, afraid to show them you tears stained face.
Quickly walking out of the three story mansion, you didn't see the grins on the Cullen kids' faces and Jasper's worried and alarmed expression as you stepped in your car;
"Y/n/n I'm so sorry, I didn't-"
"It's okay Jaz. I don't even know why I showed up when I knew that your family hated me." You wiped away a tear as Jasper stood by the window of your car.
"No no, none of this is your fault don't feel guilty please I should have known they were going to be like that. None of this is your fault they were just a bunch of asshole please don't cry darling." Jasper put one of his cold hand against your cheek and you grabbed his hand in yours leaning in his familiar touch.
"I'm sorry Jaz... For not being good enough for you or your family... I'm sorry I couldn't reach their expectation." You started your car and Jasper moved away with sad eyes.
"Please don't leave me darling." He whispered and you looked down at your lap before sending him a sad look.
"I'll see you later Jaz." You drove away and Jasper watched your car disappear between the trees of the forest, his hand slowly clenching into fist.
He was mad. He didn't understand why was his family so rude with you. They all accepted Bella when she forced herself on the family why could they not accept you even after how hard you tried to reach their standart, how hard you tried to understand their life style and always covering for them whenever a teacher would ask here they are when they hunt. Jasper hated how his family blantly hated you for no reasons at all when all you did was making him happier than he ever was.
"Why would you do that ?" Jasper whispered not even turning around to face his family.
"Jasper you have to understand-"
"WHY WOULD YOU DO THAT !?" It was the first time Jasper rose his voice and his eyes were dark, almost black.
"Jasper don't-"
"Please don't. You two did nothing while they are harassing Y/n questiong that clearly made her uncomfotable what is wrong with you all !? I was finally at peace !! I was finally truly happy, not because someone else felt happy but because I felt genuinly happy for once in my immortal life and you had to ruin it !? You had to be rude, you have to make her feel worthless !?" Jasper growled and his siblings and Bella frowned slightly.
"Why do you care so much anyways ?" Emmett crossed his arms on his chest.
"BECAUSE I LOVE HER !!" The empath reveale and everyone stood there in disbelief.
"I love her so much it fucking hurt to see her and feel her so demaged by the one who are supposed to support me forever. I don't understand why you would accept Bella when she pratically forced herself on our famil but can't accept the strongest and kindest girl walking on Earth. Why do you all hate Y/n so much ?" Jasper asked deseperatly but only got the silence as an answer causing him to scoff at his family before starting walk away.
"You all are unbelievable."
That night, Jasper showed up at your window to see you curved into a ball, soft whimper and sniffs audible from under your cover.
"Oh darling..." The words slipped from his lips and you looked out of your cover with glossy eyes, only killing his dead heart even more.
"I'm so sorry darling... I love you so much I'm so sorry..." Jasper whispered as he slided beside you and you immediately vurled inside of his arms, seeking for the warmth only he could give you even with a cold skin.
The both of you stayed in that position, for a while, him slowly caressing your hair and you sniffing from time to time as you listened to the silence inside his chest, calming your nerves. After a while, Jasper looked down at your figure debating if he should do his next move or not. But you needed to get away from them. Both of you.
"Let's run away together" His voice was calm and you looked up at him with red eyes from crying.
"But your family-"
"Won't do anything. I don't think I can trust them for a while after tonight." Jasper cut you and you frowned.
"Is it because of m-"
"Darling, nothing is your fault. We're going to pack your bag and tell you're dad what happened. He will understand." The vampire told you and you hesitated before nodding.
"But what about your family ?" You questioned silently.
"This is their fault. They will have to assume the result of their actions."
So here you were six years later, barely twenty-three years old, cooking in the kitchen waiting for your husband to come back from his day at work. Yeah Jasper was working. He was actually working in the library near the town you decided to settle in. You worked too, you were a teacher for pre-schooler. Then you heard the bell ring at the door and your dog, Fanny, barked loudly causing you to frown.
"Fanny ! Don't growl !" You scolded as youi wiped your hand on your appron before opening the door.
There stood a girl, she looked like she was eleven or something, and she held a box of cookies in her hands with a smile. To be honest she kind you reminded you of someone but you didn't knew who.
"Hey, can I help you dearie ?" Your soft adult side came out and Fanny ran at your feet.
"Hello ! My name is Renesmee and I'm here on behalf of my family ! My four siblings, our two parents and I moved a couple of miles away and we wanted to invite you and your family for dinner. These are for you." The girl grinned while handind you the box of cookie and you sent her an apologetic smile.
"I'm so sorry, I'm already making dinner. Come on in thought." You invited and the golden brunette smile while stepping inside of the house after you.
The little looked around in aww as the vintage style was all around the house. On the wall there was a few painting, along with some pictures of your dog, yourself and Jasper all around and the smell of fresh bread greeted Renesmee as she sat down.
"It's very pretty here." She complimented and you smiled.
"Thank you, my husband and I settled here a few years back ourselves. You could invite your family for dinner thought. I always love to meet new people." You replied and Renesmee nodded gently.
"Come by in thirty minutes, everything should be ready by then." You added and the girl nodded before walking out of your house, escorted by Fanny who got a few scratches behind the ears as a reward before that the little waved see you later.
So now, thirty minutes later, you were placing seven more plates around your dinner table that you extanded. You texted Jasper to tell him about the unexpected guests so he could prepare and you smiled as the bell rang and Fanny ran to the door.
"Ay you big girl, out of the way." You shooed her away before opening the door, a bright smile plastered on your face as you saw seven people by your door. They all looked oddly familiar but you and your amazing memory couldn't remember from where you knew them.
"Hi, hello ! You must be our new neighbor. I'm Y/n L/n/n-Hale, please come on in." You moved out of the way, missing the glance the family shared between themselves before stepping walked in the dinning room and they all sat around the dinning table while you grabbed some hot plat with a kitchen glove.
"You're house is lovely." A wavy brunette woman complimented and you grinned, she looked around twenty-six to twenty-eight years old.
"Thank you, my husband and I designed it a few years back, he should probably be home soo-" Your reply was cut short when Jasper bargged inside of the house with a serious yet worried expression.
"Darling are you alright !? I've smell a couples of vampires around the house and-" Jasper cut himself when he noticed who was sitting around your dinner table while you froze in confusion.
"Jasper ?" The father of the family asked and you forwned slightly before that it cklicked inside of your head.
"Shit !" You swore under your breath as you finally recognized the people in your dinning room.
"What are you all doing here ?" Jasper growled slowly making his way to you.
"Jasper we weren't-"
"Why are you here ?" Jasper glared and you moved around the table to join his side.
"Jaz, honey, calm down alright ? They were not going to do anything." You bit the inside of your cheek as your husband leaned into your touch.
"If he is my uncle Jasper then are you the problematic mean girl ?" Renesmee asked and you turned to her in confusion.
"I'm sorry ?" You replied.
"Y/n was anything but problematic." The ex-soldier stepped in and Edward glared at him.
"She made you run away from us ! We're literally your family !" The golden brunet replied and you looked down, it was the same thing all over again.
"If you all weren't that awful with her I would have never proposed her to run away with me. You all were blantly rude and totally ignored her discomfort, you made her question her whole being from her personality to her way of dressing, I had to spent years, YEARS, to help her regain her confidence again do you know how helpless I felt ? Listening to the love of my life criyng herself to sleep without being able to make her feel better because it would have just creat her some fake happiness ? Do you know how I felt when no one of you even tried to befriend her while alml of you sacrified your life plenty of times for Bella while she was just human ?! You disregarded my feelings and thought only because you were selfish enough to think that I only belonged with you. You made me run away from you." Jasper revealed with venom as his eyes darkened and the room fell silent.
"Jasper we're so sorry..." Alice's voice was small as she took a step foward and you felt Jasper hold tighten around your waist.
"The day Y/n arrived at school I- I saw you both together. And you were happy. But the rest of us weren't. And then I saw you both running away and I thought- I thought that Y/n somehow turned you against us. I saw us fighting over her I thought- I thought that she would break us apart somehow and..." Alice trailed off and you frowned slightly at the realization.
"You didn't want to lose your best friend and brother..." You finished silently and everyone turned to you.
"I know how that feels." You chuckled bitterly before moving away from Jasper's hold.
"Jasper was the first person you ever considerated family, you both spent years together before finding the rest of your family. Even I could see the close bond between you two. Between you all." You smiled softly, disappearing in the kitchen before coming back with a letter.
"I understand why you did what you did. You could have probably be less harsh sure, but I understand. And I forgive you. Not because I know that Jasper would never forgive you if I don't but because I genuinly forgive you all." You put the letter on the table and everyone awwed at your kindness.
"We got your letter Rosalie. At first I didn't believe that you would be the first one apologizing, after all you were probably the scariest, but your words really had an effect on me." You told and the blond godess smiled.
She sent you this letter over four years ago, you didn't knew how the letter actually got delivered at your house but when you received this letter, you and Jasper just had marry and it was probably one of the best wedding gift ever.
After that everyone was now in the living room, catching up with each other. Jasper was still a little bit tense, his family understood why, but you didn't pay attention to it and continued to smile, offering them a cup of blood you had in your fridge in case Jasper had an emergency. You learned about Bella's pregnancy and the whole half-human, half-vampire baby war while the Cullens learned how Jasper made a lot of improvement being around humans.
"We're very sorry for the way we treated you before Y/n." Esme apologized one last time and you shrugged it off.
"Please forget it, the past is the past and we have plenty of years ahead of us." You joked and they all smiled.
"Are you planning on being turned by the way ?" Bella asked you and shook your head causing a few of them to rose their eyes.
"I'm waiting until I'm atleast 25 years old. I want to enjoy my youth as much as possible without passing like a weird girl being married to a twenty year old librarian. But until then I'm just fine while being human." You announced and the rest of the Cullen nodded in understanding while you poured Renesmee some apple juice in a tea cup.
"I still can't believe we thought you were bad..." Emmett muttered and they all shared an awkward laugh while you brusted in a fit of giggle.
"It's okay really. And it got me some times alone with Jaz for a while." You replied and your lover passed his arms around your waist, resting her chin on your shoulder.
Then a loud gasp was heard.
"ENGAGED OR MARRIED ALREADY ?" Alice rushed to your side, grabbing yours and Jasper's hand quickly and the rest of the family widened their eyes.
"Engaged. Y/n forced me to wait until all of us will get along again. She wanted my family to attend the wedding as much as hers." Jasper kissed you cheek and you chuckled leaning into his touch.
"Bless that girl, I hope you didn't expected to have you wedding without me." Alice playfully glared and everyone laughed.
If someone would have told you five years ago that you were getting along with Jasper's family you would have give them a big sad smile with an 'I wish' for answer. Now you couldn't wait for the awaiting future with your new family.

𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐢𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐧 𝐡𝐞𝐫 - 𝐛𝐞𝐥𝐥𝐚 𝐬.
Warnings:
Lowkey, manipulative (Y/N) if you look close enough. Lol. Angsty. Heartbroken!Bella, dealing with not one but TWO broken hearts, thanks to (Y/N) and Edward. This movie is set in New Moon. She/her reader. A WLW fiction. I plan on making this into a mini series, as I've already got most of written but I want to do it in parts rather than just one whole story, so~!!! I do hope you like this, even if it's just one person that likes it. (◡‿◡✿)
Restless nights plagued Bella, as her thoughts were consumed by the disappearance of her best friend, (Y/N). For weeks, there had been no contact from (Y/N), no sign of her existence whatsoever. It was as if she had vanished into thin air, leaving behind only memories and an aching void in Bella's heart.
Had (Y/N) truly ever existed, or was she just a figment of Bella's imagination?
The thought alone sent Bella into hysterical laughter, but the physical evidence of (Y/N)'s presence proved otherwise.
She wasn’t crazy, she had existed… it was just a matter of time in finding her, tracing her whereabouts and bringing her home… if she were still alive.
Bella, though, was always quick to push those thoughts away when they entered.
She wouldn’t know what to do had she lived in a world without (Y/N).
Despite having other friends like Angela, Jessica, Mike, and Eric, (Y/N) held a special place in Bella's life.
She was not just her best friend; she was someone who truly understood her. Losing (Y/N) felt like losing a part of herself.
The two were inseparable, two peas in a pod. They never went so much as a day without hanging out with one another or staying at one's house.
In a town where everyone seemed to know each other's business, the fact that no one had any answers to (Y/N)'s whereabouts only added to Bella's concern.
It had also angered Bella deeply, genuinely, it was as though nobody cared that (Y/N) was gone. Apart from Bella’s dad, Charlie, that is, who had stated countless times he and the rest of the police officers would do their best to help out in any way, shape and form…
It was just difficult to focus on that assignment, really, when there’s been more murders going around town, more innocent lives being taken away….
And as of late, (Y/N) hadn’t yet been one on that list of the murder victims.
Which is how Bella knew she was alive… she knew that (Y/N) was… because she was sure that had something serious happened to her, Bella would’ve felt it.
Call her dramatic but…. It’s true.
That’s the kind of connection the two had shared.
Driven by a determination to uncover the truth and locate her missing friend, Bella set out to find (Y/N) herself, no longer would she put trust in the police of Forks or anyone else for that matter.
She refused to stay in the dark any longer, desperate for any clue that could lead her closer to finding her best friend.
Because without (Y/N), life in Forks would never be the same again.. and Bella was quite positive she too wouldn't be the same again had she lost (Y/N).
Bella's journey took her deep into the heart of a city that pulsed with an electric energy yet a negative aura was obvious the moment she had stepped foot into the area. Her and her run-down truck were quite the outsiders in a destination that was this town.
Skyscrapers towered over her like menacing giants, casting dark shadows that seemed to reach out and swallow her whole. This was Burnfall, a concrete jungle filled with more people than she had ever seen in her small hometown of Forks.
As Bella navigated through the crowded sidewalks, she couldn't help but feel an emptiness in her heart for the warmth and friendliness of the people back home. Here, as she pushed through the crowded sidewalks, bumping shoulders with strangers and dodging angry glares, Bella couldn't help but want to turn away and leave. She was never the type to seek out danger or willingly involve herself in troubling situations.
The people of Burnfall had a reputation for easily starting fights and causing trouble, driven by either sadistic tendencies or sheer boredom. Bella didn't want to find out which it was. It was as if every interaction with the folks of Burnfall was like walking on thin ice, never knowing when it would crack and plunge her into a dangerous situation. She kept her distance, wary of their unpredictable nature. There was no turning back, though.
With each step, her heart pounded rapidly, threatening to burst from her chest at any given second. Her nerves were on edge, her bottom lip raw and swollen from being gnawed on in nervousness. But she couldn't stop, not until she found her best friend and the two of them returned back to Forks. Failure was not an option; she had to succeed, no matter the cost. Bella weaved her way through the bustling sidewalks, her keen eyes searching for a familiar face among the sea of strangers.
And then, in a split second, she caught sight of her – (Y/N) with her (h/c) locks cascading down her back. Bella had also caught a faint whiff of her best friend's signature perfume as she walked down the dimly lit alley. That's how she knew it was (Y/N), too. Her signature scent was an off-the-market perfume and (Y/N) only ever wore that fragrance or that brand itself. Bella quickened her pace, determined to catch up with (Y/N), but was suddenly struck by a strong sense of unease.
The walls were covered in graffiti, their eerie glow casting long shadows on the ground. As she approached (Y/N), Bella noticed several figures standing before her, their eyes glinting dangerously in the faint light. She could see that their skin had a faint sparkle under the faintest of the sun's rays - vampires. Bella's heart raced and she gasped in shock. She had been through this before with her ex-boyfriend Edward Cullen, who was also part of the undead world. She wasn't surprised by their presence, but she couldn't help feeling upset that (Y/N) had never mentioned being a vampire herself after all these years of friendship.
As the vampires disappeared into the depths of an unknown basement in one of the buildings, (Y/N) remained still, sensing someone's presence nearby. When they were fully gone, she turned and spotted Bella hiding behind some graffiti-covered walls.
"You can come out now, Bells. We won't harm you," she reassured her.
"How.... how did they not know I was here?" was Bella's first question.
"Oh, they did... we smelled you miles away," (Y/N) answered. "Have you ever considered a shower before, Bells? I heard that it usually helps with foul odor." "(Y/N), I don't think now is the time to be making jokes," Bella said as she shook her head.
"Where... you've been gone... for... for God knows how long and you.. you didn't tell me you were a vampire? Really….? What other secrets have you been keeping from me?"
"Several. If you want me to be honest... For one, I didn't want you to get involved in my world, Bella," (Y/N) explained.
"You're quite the comedian, maybe you should consider doing stand-up," Bella scoffed and continued to shake her head in disbelief. "I've known about this world for a while now, thanks to the Cullen's. I've been a part of it for longer too, I'd say.. So, don't even think about telling me not to get involved or that you didn't want me to be involved. Did you not want me in your world? Or in your life? Is that why you pushed me away?" Bella's voice trembled with emotion as she let her feelings take over.
"Did you not want me around at all? Was I not good enough to keep around? Was... was I really that easy to throw away? Am... am I that easy to toss aside as if I'm nothing?" Before Bella realized it, she was standing there with tears streaking down her face.
"Bells, please stop." (Y/N) hurried over and held onto her best friend, holding her tight as she brought Bella to her chest. "You don't need to think like that. If you can, please stop thinking like that, will you? It's not like that at all... I swear. if you want to know the truth, I'll tell you." (Y/N) hugged onto her best friend, gently rubbing Bella's back in a soothing manner with slow, circular motions as she tried to find the right proper words to say.
"After Edward left...after the Cullen's were gone, I was afraid for you. I was afraid of what would happen had you found out the truth... I didn't want you to get involved with another vampire. You were already going through so much pain because of them, because of Edward, and I couldn't bear to see you go through even more heartache. I didn't want to bring any more chaos into your life." (Y/N) explained compassionately.
"How long?" Bella asked in a hushed voice. "How long have you been one of them?" She questioned, now looking up at (Y/N) with eyes full of tears.
"It's been a few years now. It happened right before you moved to Forks, about a year earlier than that. There had been multiple attacks in town and, as I've always told you, my luck has never been great. I was one of those who had gotten attacked, left in a ditch is where they had found me. Carlisle is the one who saved me. I had always been friends of the Cullen's — more so with Alice than anyone — and they had just gotten there in time… I think Alice had seen a vision of me, dying and really, without her or Carlisle being there, I don’t think I would’ve made it… I don't remember much after that…”
(Y/N) paused before continuing. “I do remember the pain, though. It felt like I was being burned alive while also freezing to death at the same time. My bones felt like they were disintegrating into dust… and suddenly, everything stopped and the pain went away.”
Bella stood abruptly, her fists clenched at her sides. Though, she didn’t dare pull away from (Y/N)’s grasp. “You still abandoned me, (Y/N)! Just like he did! You broke your promise, just like he had. That doesn’t give you an excuse to treat me – or anyone – like that… Am I really that worthless that not one but two people can toss me aside as though I'm nothing worth loving? Do you have any idea what that did to me? I thought I had died the moment he left but you were the one that fully pulled the trigger and killed me. You left me to die." Her voice broke, and fresh tears spilled down her cheeks.
(Y/N) flinched, her gaze dropping to the ground as she anxiously and uncomfortably rubbed at her arms, unsure of what she should say, how she should reply. Finally, she began, words slow as she spoke: “I never wanted to hurt you, Bella. Please believe me. I left because—”
“Because what?!” Bella shouted, her anger boiling over. (Y/N) was sure her anger could be felt from miles away, and the tone of her voice easily could've been heard from Forks, too. “You couldn’t be bothered to stick around when I needed you the most? Why should I even listen to you now? How do I know you aren't lying?"
“No! Just.... God, Bella, you really don't know? Not once did you ever even try to piece it together? Truly, I thought you were smarter than that," (Y/N) snapped, her voice sharp but trembling. “I left because I loved you!" She snarled. “I… I still do…” She whispered, lowering her voice and trying to gather her anger out and get it under control.
“What?” Bella’s voice was barely above a whisper now, the anger in her eyes replaced by confusion and something deeper, more vulnerable.
“I loved you, Bella. Not as a friend. Well, okay, as a friend but... More. Way more than friends should feel towards one another. Not the way I was supposed to. Not at all. I couldn’t… I couldn’t stay and watch you destroy yourself over Edward while pretending I didn’t feel anything towards you. And it wasn’t just that. It was the vampire aspect of it, too. I knew I would hurt you worse had I exposed my secret and confessed it to you. Especially because.... unlike Edward, I would've easily turned you the moment you asked me to."
The words hit Bella like a physical blow, and she stumbled back a step. “What… what did you just say?”
“You heard me. I didn't stutter. I would’ve done it, Bella. Without hesitation. If it meant keeping you safe from the harm of the other vampires out there in the world and keeping you with me—I would’ve turned you.”
She swallowed hard, her hands balling into fists to stop them from trembling. Even in that very moment, had Bella randomly asked (Y/N) to turn her, she would’ve sunk her teeth deep into her neck and turned her right then and there… She tried to focus her control and hunger elsewhere, however.
“Because I wasn’t strong like Edward. I didn’t want to leave you human. While he still wanted to save your soul, call me sinister or evil, whatever word you think best describes me but... I wanted you to be damned; I wanted to give you eternity. With me. Which I know... is super selfish of me. On my part, I know I was being selfish... But I can't.. I couldn't help myself.''
“You… you were always against me being with Edward. I never understood the hatred you had for him, it never made any sense to me. Is it because he could've given me the life you wanted to have with me? How can you stand here and say these things? Especially now? Especially with him, being gone? I loved him and he loved me… and as a friend – as a best friend – you should’ve supported me and my relationship, despite how you felt.”
"I know, Bella, and I am sorry for not supporting you the way a friend should. The way a best friend should. I was blinded by my own desires and fears, but that is no excuse for how poorly I treated you throughout your relationship with Edward," (Y/N) said softly, her voice filled with regret.
More tears welled up in Bella's eyes as the weight of (Y/N)’s words sank in. She had felt so isolated and unsupported during her time with Edward, never understanding why (Y/N) seemed to actively dislike him when all she wanted was approval and acceptance, especially from her best friend.
(Y/N) grabbed ahold of Bella’s chin, though, forcing her to look up at her, locking their eyes together.
“If he truly loved you, though, Bella– if he truly cared about your happiness and overall well being then why would he leave? Why wouldn’t he fight tooth and nail to be by your side? He would have found a way to make it work… to keep you safe from the other blood-suckers out there. He would have made it work. He wouldn't have abandoned you like this."
(Y/N) paused before she continued. “But it doesn’t have to be like this, Bells. I’m still here, and I will always be here. If you want that life—the life you dreamed of—I can give it to you. You just have to let me. Give me a chance. Not to sound totally self centered but... I can be so much better than Edward. I can be so much better for you, with you… Will you trust me? Do you still wish to be a vampire? Just say yes and I can make your dreams come true. " The air between them felt heavy, charged with emotions Bella couldn’t yet name.
“(Y/N)....” she began, her voice breaking. “I didn’t know. I had no idea you felt this way.”
“I didn’t let you know,” (Y/N) said, a flicker of vulnerability crossing her face.
“Which is my own fault, I know, but I was scared. Scared of rejection, scared of what I’d do if you actually did say yes.. But I’m not scared anymore. Why would I be? Why should I be? So if this is the life you want, Bella… I’ll give it to you. Just… tell me you’ll think about it.”
Bella hesitated, before she finally gave a small nod, wrapping her arms around herself before slowly uttering under her breath: “I’ll think about it,” she whispered, though she wasn’t sure if she was reassuring (Y/N) —or herself.
“Thank you for considering it… and I promise you won’t regret it,” (Y/N) whispered gently as she finally pulled Bella away, despite wanting to hold onto her longer.
"You should go back home, though... and we can talk more?"
"I.... yeah, that sounds good." Bella replied.
"Okay." (Y/N) whispered.
"What about the other vampires...?" Bella asked, completely having forgotten there was more than the one vampire that stood before her.
"Again, don't worry about them. Believe it or not, there's more undead creatures here than Forks... and the place they went to is actually a place where they feed off of people willingly... you know how it is. There's always going to be crazed, fanatic vampire freaks out in the world who'd do anything to be bitten or have their blood be sucked by a creature of the night."
"Yeah... I... I guess."
"Technically, you are one of them, you know."
Bella gave away a little smile as she rolled her eyes and scoffed. "Yeah, okay... I'm going home now."
"I'll see you later though, right? And we'll talk?"
"Yes. I promise."
"Okay. I'll... I'll see you in a bit then."
"Yeah... see you."
Bella made her way down the alley, her mind swirling with a mix of emotions.
She never considered (Y/N) in that way before, but now she couldn't shake the thought from her mind. Was it possible that she could have feelings for her best friend?
Bella had to admit, there were moments when she found (Y/N) attractive, but she brushed it off as normal curiosity about her own sexuality.
One thing she knew for sure was that she had a lot to think about on the car ride home…

I'M NOT IN LOVE
Bella Swan x classmate!reader headcannons
"Don't tell your friends about the two of us"

You always hang around Bella, jokingly calling her your 'bestie.'
She brushes off your flirty comments, thinking you're just being friendly. It's clear to everyone else but her and you that you're absolutely smitten.
You're overly eager to help Bella with anything, from carrying her books to giving her a ride when her truck won't start.
You always volunteer to be in Bella's group, insisting it's because you're "such a good team player." But really, you just want an excuse to sit close to her and make lame jokes that only she seems to laugh at.
When your friends tease you about your obvious crush, you laugh it off, insisting, "What? Bella? No, we're just friends!"
You find yourself calling Bella late at night with ridiculous excuses, like asking about tomorrow’s homework or pretending to have "accidentally" dialed her.
Bella answers every time, confused but amused by your awkwardness, not realizing how much you’re hanging onto every word she says.
You make a show of casually hanging around her locker, chatting with random classmates until she shows up. When she finally does, you act like it’s a total coincidence.
"Oh, Bella! Hey! Fancy seeing you here… at your own locker… again…"
You have a photo of Bella taped inside your locker door, claiming it’s there because it’s a "funny photo." But really, you stare at it every morning before class, sighing dramatically as you shut the door.
You get visibly flustered whenever Bella gets too close or when she casually touches your arm. You try to play it off with a joke, but your cheeks are burning, and everyone, including Bella, can see it.
You casually ask Bella if she’s going to the upcoming dance, pretending you’re only asking because "Mike and Jessica keep bugging me about it."
When she says she’s going with Edward, you force a laugh and say, "Oh, yeah! Cool! I was just wondering if you had any idea of who i shoud ask…"
You deny your feelings aggressively, even to yourself. When Bella starts dating Edward, you pretend to be completely fine, loudly cheering them on and even jokingly asking, "When’s the wedding?"

hot chocolate
twilight new moon isabella marie swan x fem!reader

a/n: it can be a bit sad from the start but it will be really fluffy on the end
༺☆༻
Bella slowly opened her eyes as she heard a slight noise of opening door. As her vision cleared she saw you, quietly as possible opening the door with two hot chocolates in your hands.
Just as quietly as you opened the door you too closed them. Then you went next to your bed, where Bella was now laying and put those two hot chocolates on a nightstand that was right next to your bed.
She was so glad to see you, her childhood best friend. Jacob was only her childhood friend, you were her childhood best friend, you were special.
She was way closer to you then with Jacob, she thought it was like this because you were the same gender.
But as time passed she realized that there was something more in that then just this, but then she thought she lost you forever and you will be forever just a childhood memory, then she moved back to Forks and the chaos with Edward came, and then you appeared in Forks all of the sudden, then Jacob with his werewolf thing, then the break up with Edward, it was just to much on her. To much chaos.
Her head was filled with thoughts and her feelings weren't under control. So her attempt of suicide was stupid but understadable.
All she remembers was seeing you above her, white light behind you and you were like smoke and you were also blurred. Then it was all dark until now.
As you sat down on your chair that you had in your room, you saw Bella blinking her eyes. You also noticed that her lips were more pink then few hours ago. When you pulled her out of that freezing water her lips were purple, white and blue, when you arrived to your house they were just blue and now they were more pink like her normal colour. That made you stood up immediately and went to sit next to her on the corner of your bed.
"Bella, how are you feelin'?" You asked with worried voice as you were looking at her face for any signs of discomfort or pain. Now as her eyes were fully opened she could see how worried you really were. How you care about her...
"I'm fine, wha- what happened?" Bella asked with still shaking voice as she tried to sit up but you gently pushed her down and shook your head as a sign that it's not a good idea to sit right now.
"Well I assume that before I pulled you out of that water you jumped off a cliff, when I pulled you out of that water and gave you first aid; you started breathing and blinking your eyes so I took you to my car and there you fell asleep, then I just moved you inside my house." You said calmly as you touched her forehead to check if she doesn't have high temperature.
Bella nods her head slowly as she looked down a bit embarrassed. "I-I'm sorry." She apologized. She felt like a complete trash. After Edward broke up with her, her depression started... it was over 3 months and now she embarrassed herself in front of you.
It was just too much at her, she wanted to cry but she tried her best not too. "Don't apologize Bells, you are fine now." You said calmy in a soothing voice to calm her down.
Bella smiled back at you while feeling that fuzzy, warm, safe feeling inside her, that one she haven't felt in 3 moths, that one she missed so much.
As she was looking at your loving face; all of the memories from your childhood came to her mind. The memories she felt this feeling in, the best ones, the special ones, the ones why you were more then Jacob, more then Edward...
Bella was still staring at your face as you grabbed the hot chocolate that you placed on your nightstand few minutes ago.
"Here, drink." You said calmly with a warm smile and the hot chocolate in your right hand, with your left hand you were trying to help her sit up.
Bella moved her gaze from your.. beautiful face to that tempting hot chocolate you made. On top of that hot chocolate was whipped cream perfectly made, on top of that whipped cream was sprinkled with cinnamon.
She took the hot chocolate from your hand and as your fingers touched, she swore she felt electricity flowing. "Thank you." She thanked as she took a sip from that hot chocolate you made.
It was delicious, the best hot chocolate she ever had. She hummed loudly as she swallowed the chocolate.
You just laughed at her reaction, happy that she likes it, happy that she had a smile on her face. As you two were laughing and smiling and looking at each other, Bella realized that Edward never made her feel like this. He did the opposite, he just brought chaos into her.
Jacob did the same, only pure chaos. The only one except you who actually helped her was probably Alice.
It fascinated her, how big effect you had on her.
"I feel much better now." Bella said as she drank the whole hot chocolate and put the empty cup back on your nightstand.
You smiled and put your empty cup on your nightstand as well. You moved and went to lay next to her on your bed. As you got under your blanket you answered to her. "I'm glad to hear that."
Bella raised her eyebrows as you got under the blanket with her, it surprised her but after all you two were childhood best friends, there wasn't anything suspicious, right?
When you made yourself comfortable under the blanket, Bella's body naturaly moved closer to you which made you put your arm under her head so she could use your hand as a pillow. Your other hand went around her shoulders while she wrapped her hands around your waist.
Again the fuzzy, warm, safe feeling was spreading through Bella's veins as you two cuddled like this.
Maybe all she ever wanted was right in front of her the whole time. Maybe all she ever needed in a man was in you the whole time.
As she noticed that you fell asleep, she couldn't help herself but give in to the temptation and kiss you on your lips. As her lips touched yours she felt the electricity that she never felt with Edward, the chaotic feeling was replaced by calmness.
Maybe in the future, when she gains enough confidence, she'll ask you to be her girlfriend.
And look what a simple hot chocolate did.

Pink Matter
~~~~~
One Shot | Bella Swan x Fem!Reader | Smut 18+
Close my eyes and fall into you, you, you My God, she's giving me pleasure Pleasure, pleasure, pleasure Pleasure over matter
Warning(s): um strap ig, lil dirty talk if you squint maybe, um choking?
~~~~~
"There you go pretty girl" Bella praises as she guilds you back onto her strap, holding on you with one hand on your love handles and the other pressing down on your back. "mm doing so good for me baby" she hums while pushing fully into you. After giving you little to no time to adjust Bella couldn't hold back, driven by a desire to hear your moans she starts fucking into you. You can't decipher if she fucking you like she hates you or like its the last time she'll ever see you but you don't complain. Head to far in the clouds to think if anything other than just her. "oh fuck" were probably the first and last words to come out of your mouth. Your brain losing the ability to create sentences with every rough thrust Bella delivered to you. "You're so wet darling. All for me hmm" At this point you're sure you're fading in and out of consciousness. "mm yes, so good" You respond pushing your face into the pillow. All you can really do is spew out half thought of nonsense. You can feel her tracing a pattern in your sides. Just enough to bring attention to a new sensation adding on to your already overstimulated mind and body. Something so subtle helping bring you closer to your high. "Need you" you mumble out reaching back trying to grab some part of her. You just want to feel her closer as she fucks you into oblivion. She reaches down and grabs your neck bringing you're body up and flush against hers. "Like this baby?" she whispers in your while reaching forward with her other hand to rub your clit. You clench your eyes and reach back to tangle your first in her hair. " Please don't stop" you can feel her hitting new levels deeply inside you. That mixed with her fingers working your clit tip you over the edge. She doesn't stop instead she steadily fucks you through your orgasm until all you can do is lean backwards on her and pant. Her hand on your neck the only thing keeping you from collapsing. "Lets gets you cleaned up pretty girl" she says with a kiss as she stops away to get a bath started. You already know to expect praises and extra love during aftercare.
~~~~~
Could you write Bella swan x tall fem vampire reader? I need reader to feed on humans that are criminals and almost always smokin a cigarette
Omg yes gay Bella is the best version of her. THIS FIC IS NOT COMPLETED, I FELT BAD FOR TAKING SO LONG SO HERES A SHORT VERSION, I WILL ADD TO IT SOON WOTH A MUCH LONGER ENDING!!!! if you want to be tagged in the finish product lmk. Also there are themes of sa (think alleyway scene in first movie) and I know that's an uncomfortable subject so I kinda glazed over and left out detail for that part.
Bella Swan let out a huff of boredom as she walked down the dreary street. An attempt to regain her friendship with Jessica ended up with Jess being spooked. Bellas new tastes were too "extreme " for her and now Bella was left alone, outside the movie theater in Port Angeles. A little miffed but not unpleasant to be alone again, she decided to not make waste of the evening out. Unsure of where to go, she headed forward, down the dark path of concrete, narrowly missing a chance ride on a motorcycle. Bella was in a dark place. Mentally, always, but right now her mind led her to enter a particularly dingey alley way. Her heart seemed to pull her towards the dark abyss before her, much like how her heart pulled her towards biology class on her first day at Forks High.
As she neared a turn in the path a sinking feeling began to creep up her spine. A feeling she had not felt since...
There was a man. Smoking, head turned pointedly towards the ground. He stood there like a beacon to Bella.
Something to make him see me
The man looked up, with that familiar look. Sinister comments laced with something sickly sweet, and Bella knew he'd come running. He had to have, surely he would. The man was not shy in his approach, and Bella did her best to stay calm. Every seccond her safety grew thin. Every minute she took one apprehensive step back. Until there were no more steps to take. Just keep it up for a little while longer, she told herself. He'll be here any moment.
But that moment never came. The sinking realization that Bella was alone with this man, and Edward was nowhere to be found made her stomach drop.
Just when she was about to really try to scream and run, the man was shoved to the wall opposite to Bella, the speed of it whooshing in her face. She knew what it was, the who was not certain. Her headt skipped wildly.
He came! After all!
These thoughts were cut short after she quickly realized her saviour was female. Maybe Alice had seen her in danger and come to the rescue. But this was not Alice. Not Alice, not Esme, not Rosalie, not even Victoria.
"Didn't anyone ever tell you it's impolite to harass pretty girls?"
The metallic tone dripped from the vampires lips, before a crunch was heard. This was no vegetarian, that's for sure. Bella stood, stuck to the wall like flies in a glue trap. Not afraid as she once was, but she knew how crazed normal vampires could be.
Once she was done drinking she turned around with a cool look on her face.
"Thanks" the human girl replied with ample sincerity.
The vampire held a quizzical expression. No fear? No running? No concern or confusion? Seeing this, quiet Bella made an attempt to explain.
"I've been around vampires before"
"Ah" was all the ethereal woman said. The way she said it reminded her of him.
She reached into her old denim jeans and retrieved a cigarette of all things. How odd, Bella thought. She let out a huff of laughter. The flame from the lighter contrasted with cool toned skin, followed by a drag and blow of smoke. The woman looked at her cigarette and spoke again.
"Started as a human, was never able to kick it. Not like it can kill me anyway." She outstretched her hand and offered Bella the cigarette. Bella looked meek and wide eyed. Not wanting to seem "uncool" She took it and gave it a try. She inhaled wrong, she exhaled wrong and then coughed too much. The woman laughed and gave her a pat on the back, red eyes crinkled with amusement.
"you're just a baby aren't ya?"
Bellas face turned beet red. "No I'm not, I just, just never had one before." She stuttered out.
"Breathe in a little, hold, breathe out."
Bella tried to listen to the advice given to her but all she could focus on was the way her voice hit the air. A warm feeling filled her despite the cold weather. A parasitic curiosity filled her. Who was she? Where was she from? How old? Name? Favorite this? Favorite that? Bella wanted to know everything and anything about her, immediately. She knew she would follow this woman to the ends of the earth, and Edward could go fuck himself.
Daddy's Credit Card
Cullen Family x Female Vampire Reader (Platonic)
PART 9
Summary: Edward and Bella return from their honeymoon and the family is quick to rally around them. Y/N is quarantined for the safety of the other Vampires while Carlisle tries find a solution for her illness.
TW: Mentions of pregnancy/injury/illness, threats, lack of regard for the feelings of others, secrets/denial, medical testing, blood.
It had been two weeks since Edward and Bella returned home from their honeymoon. Her belly had grown tremendously since their return and Carlisle had no way to see what was inside.
Ultrasound and needles weren't able to penetrate the embryonic sack, but blood tests showed that she was definitely pregnant. Carlisle questioned Edward when they returned home, trying to discreetly assess for whether or not he was sick.
Carlisle was relieved to find out that whatever illness Y/N had was not passed on to Edward. Carlisle still decided to keep Y/N away from the rest of the family in case her sickness was contagious. He didn't need anyone else getting sick in the home, he already had his hands full with Y/N and Bella.
Y/N hadn't been able to keep down animal blood since that day in the woods, she started to desiccate as her body dried out. Carlisle was able to procure human blood for her and it seemed to be the only thing she could stomach for the time being.
Carlisle was uncomfortable with the idea of offering her human blood, but he didn't have another choice.
She stayed in her bed for days on end as her body continued to grow weaker and thinner, dark bags appearing beneath her eyes. Carlisle offered her more blood, but she was continuing to lose weight and he was at a complete loss as to what she could possibly need. In a desperate attempt to try something, he brought her a lone piece of buttered toast.
She looked up at him when he set the plate on the nightstand, "What the hell is that?" She questioned.
"Food," Carlisle said, sitting on the edge of the bed beside her.
"I need blood, not carbs," Y/N grumbled.
"Blood isn't helping you. Try it," Carlisle said, picking up the plate and holding it up in front of her.
She grimaced at the smell, turning her head away, "Don't be like that," He said.
"It stinks," Y/N mumbled.
"You need to try it," Carlisle pressed.
"Did Edward ask about me?" Y/N questioned, attempting to change the subject.
Carlisle sighed, lowering the plate slightly, "He is focused on Bella right now," Carlisle said.
"Who are you focused on?" Y/N asked.
"I'm looking after both of you," He stated, raising up the plate again.
Y/N glanced between him and the slice of toast before reluctantly reaching up and taking one of the four triangular slices. She looked down at it with disgust before taking a small bite and chewing it slowly.
Carlisle watched her, smiling softly when her stomach growled. She began to eat the toast faster, finishing the entirety of it in minutes.
"How do you feel?" He asked.
"I need more," Y/N stated.
"I'll get you more," Carlisle assured, standing up from the edge of the bed. He moved across the room, stepping out of the bedroom and closing the door behind himself.
"What's wrong with her?" Edward asked.
"Edward, you should be with Bella," Carlisle said, keeping himself between his son and the door to Y/N's room.
"Alice was thinking about it. Why didn't anyone tell me?" Edward questioned.
"She told us not to," Carlisle stated.
"Can I see her?" Edward asked.
Carlisle shook his head, "I'm still not sure if what she has is contagious and I can't risk exposing anyone else," He said.
Edward glanced down at the plate, "Did she eat whatever you brought her?" He asked.
"She did," Carlisle nodded.
"Can you keep me updated?" Edward asked, shifting slightly on his feet.
"Of course," Carlisle said.
"Good," Edward replied, turning around and making his way back down the hallway.
Carlisle brought Y/N as much food as she could possibly stomach before he connected her to some IV fluids. He took her vitals and was happy to find that she was doing much better with some food and fluids in her system.
After a few days of calorie-dense meals and intravenous fluids, she was able to function almost normally again. One unfortunate side effect was the need to use the bathroom, which she had not dealt with for a very long time and found to be an incredible annoyance. Her vitals had shown an increase and were finally within the normal range for humans.
She had shown a significant improvement and Carlisle found himself focusing on Bella as her health had continued to decline. The fetus had been starving Bella and breaking her bones.
No amount of IV fluids or food had been able to improve Bella's situation and it was likely that her heart would give out before delivery. Bella had been constantly exhausted and nauseous, but had nothing left in her stomach to throw up.
She was wildly gaunt and pale with almost every bone poking up through her skin. The child was going to kill her, but Bella insisted that Carlisle could change her at the last second.
...
Y/N quickly found herself bored and annoyed at the prospect of being trapped in her bedroom. She stood out on the balcony, staring down at the ground below while silently pondering how many bones she would break if she jumped.
"I wouldn't do that if I were you," Someone said.
Y/N turned around quickly to find Edward standing in the middle of her bedroom. His eyes were dark and she wondered how long it had been since they had fed.
"Too long," Edward stated.
"What are you doing in here?" Y/N asked.
"I needed to see you," Edward said, taking a few hesitant steps towards her.
"Isn't your wife dying in the next room?" Y/N questioned.
"She is dying and it's my fault," Edward stated.
Y/N stared at him for a moment, caught off guard by his statement, "Wow, I really wasn't expecting you to take accountability for killing your wife," Y/N said.
"Can you talk to her?" Edward asked quickly.
"You do know that she has done every single thing I have told her not to do, right?" Y/N questioned.
"I don't know what else to do," Edward admitted.
"You must be really desperate to be coming to me for help," Y/N said.
"I am... Please, I need you," Edward pleaded, taking her hand in his.
She grimaced at the tightness of his grip and he quickly released her, "I need your help, Y/N," He repeated.
"I can't help you," Y/N replied.
"Can't or won't?" Edward snapped.
"Won't and don't really want to... If you haven't noticed, I have my own problems to deal with at the moment," Y/N said.
The door to her bedroom opened and Carlisle stepped inside, "Edward, you need to leave," He ordered.
"Fine," Edward muttered, storming out of the room.
"Are you alright?" Carlisle questioned, closing the door.
"I'm fine. He just came to beg for my help," Y/N replied.
"He's desperate, Y/N. You can't fault him for that," Carlisle said.
"I told him that something terrible would happen if he married her. It just happened in a different way than I expected," She said, crossing her arms.
"He's your friend," Carlisle stated.
"He's an idiot," Y/N corrected, sitting down on the chaise.
Carlisle made his way over to her, "Be gentle with him. He's fragile right now," Carlisle said.
"I've never been that person and you know that," Y/N said.
Carlisle wrapped the blood pressure cuff around her arm, she held up her other hand and he placed the probe on her finger. Carlisle turned on the machine and the cuff began to inflate as he took her temperature.
"Can I get out of here soon?" Y/N asked.
"No talking," Carlisle instructed, watching the screen of the vitals machine.
He wrote down the values as they popped up, "We still have no idea what you have, Y/N. It also doesn't help that the wolves are watching us. If you leave the house, you'll surely be torn to shreds in your state," Carlisle said.
He removed the cuff from her arm and took the probe from her finger, "I hate this room," She stated.
"I wish I could help you, but we need you to stay here for now," Carlisle said.
"This house is a prison," She grumbled.
"You'll survive," He smiled, putting the items away on the vitals machine.
"What if I don't? What if I die in this room and you wouldn't even let me go to the kitchen in my own home?" Y/N asked.
"Don't say things like that. Your vitals are stable and you're doing well," Carlisle assured.
Y/N rolled her eyes, "I'm climbing the walls, Carlisle. My god, if you're not sick at this point, I obviously can't infect anyone else," She said.
"I'll think about it," Carlisle replied.
"Think faster," Y/N grumbled.
Carlisle smiled, "You never have been a very patient person. I suppose that I shouldn't be surprised by your persistence," He said.
"Now that I can't use mind control, I'll just have to annoy you into letting me go free," Y/N said.
"I've dealt with you for a very long time, Y/N. I don't think there's anything you could do that would surprise me," Carlisle said.
"Don't challenge me, Carlisle," Y/N replied.
"I'll bring dinner in an hour. I trust that you can keep yourself busy until then," Carlisle said, Y/N nodded.
Carlisle stepped out of her bedroom, closing the door behind himself. Y/N stood up from the chaise quickly and rushed into the bathroom.
She moved her tongue around in her mouth before hesitantly reaching in and pulling out a bloody tooth. Y/N looked at it with disgust before her eyes found her reflection in the mirror.
Her mouth began to fill with blood and she spit into the sink, her eyes glossed over with panicked tears when she saw another tooth in the bottom of the sink. Y/N picked them up quickly and wrapped them in toilet paper, stuffing them into the bottom of the trash can. Y/N washed out the sink, rinsing the blood from her mouth before returning to her bed.
She laid down with a grimace, dragging the blankets over her body before settling against the mattress. Y/N's body was falling apart around her and it was infuriating, her joints ached terribly and her hearing was beginning to fail. Carlisle believed that she was doing well, but she wasn't and she didn't want him to know.
Edward clearly couldn't see anything beyond his own issues and Y/N was grateful for that. Edward was begging for her help while on his downward spiral that would ultimately lead to Bella's death. The hell spawn that grew in her belly would be the end of everything and Edward seemed to understand that. Edward wanted to hear Y/N tell Bella that she was making a terrible mistake, but nothing was going to change her mind.
Bella thought that she could have this perfect child and change into a Vampire at the last second. It was completely ridiculous, but she was stubborn and not even her husband could change her perspective on that.
Y/N was dying and she didn't want to spend the rest of her days under a microscope or trying to talk Bella out of something that everyone already knew was a mistake. Carlisle wasn't going to be able to save either of them and Y/N was the only one who was willing to admit that.
...
Y/N sat in her bed with her back leaned against the headboard as she read from her book. She heard some yelling, but couldn't make out what anyone was saying. The curiosity eventually became too much for her and she closed her book, setting it aside before she stood up.
Y/N made her way over to the door, opening it and lingering in the doorway as she heard more screaming. She leaned out into the hallway, looking both ways before slowly venturing out. Y/N made her way out to the living room, immediately spotting a broken Styrofoam cup on the floor in a pool of blood.
Y/N continued on passed the gory scene and made her way into the kitchen. She looked through the fridge before moving on and checking the cabinets for something to eat. Y/N huffed when she found nothing, returning to the fridge and opening the freezer.
"Oh, yes," She muttered, pulling out a small pint of ice cream.
Y/N grabbed a spoon from the drawer, hopping up to sit on the counter as she took the lid off. Y/N ate her ice cream silently as she listened to the screams from wherever everyone had run off to in the house.
It was obvious that something was happening with Bella, but Y/N couldn't be bothered to go and check on them. She paused in her snacking when the screams eventually stopped.
"Sweet serenity," She sighed, taking another scoop of the ice cream.
Y/N watched as Rosalie suddenly rushed by carrying a newborn baby wrapped in a blue towel.
"Is she dead?" Y/N questioned, Rosalie whipped around at the sound of her voice.
"You shouldn't be out of your room," She stated.
"Not like anyone's here," Y/N replied, gesturing to the empty room with her spoon.
"You still shouldn't be out here," Rosalie huffed.
"Did she die or not?" Y/N repeated.
"She did. Edward gave her the venom, but her heart had already stopped," Rosalie said, Y/N nodded and took another bite of her ice cream.
"You know, I usually do my best to stick up for you, but this time you are the one in the wrong. Edward has been awful to you, but he needs you right now and you should be there for him. You shouldn't be sitting here and listening to his wife die," Rosalie said.
"It's not like I can help him, Rose," Y/N stated.
"Nothing can help him. Bella is dead. But he needs someone to lean on right now," Rosalie said.
The infant squirmed in her arms and she looked down at them, "It's a girl. Bella decided to call her Renesmee," Rosalie said.
"That's an awful name," Y/N stated.
"It is, but Bella picked it," Rosalie replied, "I need to get her washed up, but you should go and see him," Rosalie continued, Y/N nodded.
Rosalie made her way into the bathroom while Y/N hopped down from the counter. She set her spoon in the sink and tossed the ice cream back into the freezer before following the panicked voice of her friend.
"Please, please, please, please," Edward whispered softly to Bella. He moved over her body, biting into her flesh while her lifeless eyes stared up at the ceiling. Y/N lingered in the doorway awkwardly, taking in the scene in front of her.
Edward's shirt and face were covered in Bella's blood, his blood-stained hands were trembling as he cupped her cheeks, "Come back to me, please, baby. Bella, Bella, please, please," He mumbled shakily.
"Edward," Y/N said.
He looked up at her with wide eyes, "I was too late," Edward mumbled.
"I'm sorry," Y/N replied.
He stepped away from her body, moving over to his friend and pulling her into a tight embrace. Y/N grimaced at the feeling of Bella's blood soaking into her shirt before slowly wrapping her arms around his neck.
"She's gone and it was my fault," Edward mumbled, gripping onto the material of her shirt.
"You're going to be okay," Y/N assured.
He pulled away suddenly when he heard the sound of the Werewolves approaching in the forest, "What is it?" Y/N asked.
"They're coming," Edward mumbled, "Get up to your room and don't come out," He instructed.
"Alice! Jasper!" He yelled, returning to Bella's body and pressing a gentle kiss to her forehead.
Alice and Jasper rushed down to meet him while Y/N reluctantly returned to her room. She washed the blood from her skin and changed her shirt before sitting down on the edge of her bed. Y/N couldn't hear what was happening outside and it was absolutely killing her.
She could hear the growling of the Wolves, but not much else and then she heard absolutely nothing. It was completely silent and Y/N stood up, lingering in the middle of her room as she waited for something to happen.
Had everyone been slaughtered? Were the Wolves searching the house for the child? Would they kill her if she was found?
Maybe it would be a more forgiving death than the one she was destined for. Y/N's heart began to race as she heard footsteps coming down the hallway.
Was this it? Was this the end for her?
...
“ meeting like this is better in my opinion. don't you think? ”
bella x f!reader ⊹ you are working at the library for the summer, and your favorite patron stops in, looking for a specific book. fluff | rated g | 1.7k wc no warnings
note: i've only worked in bookstores before, not libraries, so please forgive me if something about this is wrong. also gonna take this opportunity to tell you to support your local library. takes place during the summer before bella moves to forks. based on march prompt #21: a faded library card. divider by cafekitsune.
The library’s A/C is fighting the Arizona heat, and losing. You fan yourself with a few brochures from the plastic holder on your desk; a quick glance lets you know they’re advertising the community theater's summer youth program. Adorable.
It’s two in the afternoon, which means that the library is basically a ghost town. Your middle-aged coworker went on lunch about an hour ago, but time and experience have taught you that she will extend her break for another hour. You've never cared to argue with her about it, and you’ve never brought it up to your supervisor; she has worked here longer than you’ve been alive, and this job is just a way to kill time before the school year starts. It’s not like you’ve ever been overwhelmed on the clock by yourself.
You’re just about to lean back in your chair and close your eyes for a bit when you glance out the window into the parking lot and spot her. Your favorite patron, the faithful regular who always makes your day brighter. The first time you saw her, she left you speechless. Instead of asking for her name, you'd looked at the signature on her well-loved library card. Her name is Bella Swan, and she is the prettiest girl you’ve ever seen.
She’s walking slowly toward the door, distracted as she digs through her tote bag for the books she needs to return. In no time, she would be right here at your desk, smiling her shy little smile and speaking to you in that soft, warm tone.
You launch forward in your seat, tossing the brochures aside and hastily grabbing the compact mirror from your coworker’s side of the desk to check how you look. Your forehead shines with sweat, and all the anti-frizz product in your hair has melted away. Just wonderful.
Bella steps inside just as you’ve finished blotting the moisture from your face, covertly throwing the tissue away in the bin by your feet. You take a moment to look her over before she makes eye contact with you. Today, she’s wearing a pale yellow camisole and a pair of light-washed denim shorts. Her hair is pulled back into a loose bun at the nape of her neck.
When her warm brown eyes meet yours, you can’t stop the wide smile that spreads across your face. Your heart flutters when she smiles back, looking just as happy to see you.
“Hey, girl,” you say as she walks up. “Ready for some more books?”
Her smile turns more shy as she nods, handing you her returns. “I’m here pretty often, aren’t I?”
“You don’t hear me complaining,” you reply, dropping your voice a little lower to match her volume. You always forget to mind how loudly you’re talking, earning stern stares and harsh shhh’s from your coworker many times throughout the day. Bella would be much better suited for your position than you are, and you often toy with the idea of convincing her to apply. How nice would it be to see her every day, all summer long?
You drop the books into the return bin, and ask, “So… do you need help finding anything?”
Usually, this is the part where she shakes her head and walks off into the stacks, silently perusing for an hour or so until she checks out her selections and leaves. She’s so quiet, and she is very independent compared to other patrons, so all of your conversations with her have been surface-level and short.
Today, though, she surprises you.
“Yeah, actually,” she says. Your desk has a raised ledge on the patron’s side, and her hands rest there, her fingers twisting and untwisting together idly. You notice her rings, glinting in the sun pouring in from the skylight. “I couldn’t find Middlemarch when I was here last week. I checked the database and it said this branch has a copy, but when I looked, it wasn’t there.”
You frown, then search the book on your own computer. Sure enough, it says there is one copy available.
“I don’t think I’ve ever even seen this edition before,” you say. You give the picture of the cover a hard look, embedding it into your memory, before you stand up. “Let’s look together.”
“You don’t have to get up,” she says quickly, her brows shooting up her forehead.
You wave your hands out before you, gesturing at the empty room. “Because I’m so busy?”
Her cheeks turn a pretty shade of pink, and she mumbles a thank you as she follows you into the stacks. You feel her presence behind you, and you want to shiver out of your skin with excitement.
It isn’t long before you’re both standing in front of the classics section, tucked away in the back corner. The two of you look over the spines of the books, and a cursory glance tells you the book isn’t there. You set your eyes to start again on the top shelf, intending on combing through the titles at a slower pace, but Bella is so close to you that you are instantly distracted. You shift on your feet, bringing you just a bit closer, enough to feel the warmth of her skin so near your own. You’re grateful then that your supervisor allows you to wear short-sleeved T-shirts, even though they technically violate the dress code.
“You go to Paradise Valley, right?” Bella asks, her voice a respectful murmur.
“Yeah, I’ll be a junior this year,” you reply. “Is that where you go? I haven’t seen you around.”
Out of the corner of your eye, you see Bella nod, and when you look at her, yours eyes meet. The light flush is back as she tilts her head. “I’ve seen you.”
Your mouth drops open. “Oh yeah?”
She nods, her teeth worrying her bottom lip. It draws your gaze downward, and you have to work to keep from staring at her mouth.
“Interesting…” you say, dragging out the last syllable. When you notice Bella’s eyes dart down to your lips, you smile, your tongue pressed behind your front teeth. Maybe you’re not the only distractible one. “And you’ve never said hello?”
“Well, I- um-” She cuts herself off and turns back to the shelf, her blush spreading down her neck. She adjusts her tote bag on her shoulder, fiddling with the straps. “You’re usually with your friends, and I try not to be, y’know… noticed.”
“Really? Why?”
She shrugs. “I like to blend in with the crowd.”
“I see,” you say. She continues staring at the books, and though she has a pretty profile, you want to see her full face again. You nudge her shoulder with yours, and she turns her head. “Meeting like this is better in my opinion. Don’t you think?”
“Totally,” she replies. She opens her mouth to say something else, but she stops when something over your shoulder catches her eye. “Oh! There it is.”
She reaches past you, her arm lightly brushing yours, sending tingles through that whole side of your body, and grabs the misplaced copy of Middlemarch from the sci-fi shelf. You’re hit with the scent of her, sunscreen but also something delicate and floral from her shampoo or perfume or something, and you wonder how she could still smell so good even in this brutal heat. It’s like she’s from a different, more perfect world.
“Thank you for helping me,” she says, tucking the thick book into the crook of her arm, pressed to her body. The two of you are still standing closer than you need to be, and part of you is disappointed that your little mission is already over, if only because you don’t know when you’ll get to be this close to her again.
“Of course. Even though I didn’t help too much.”
She scrunches her nose a little. “You didn’t, did you?”
“My bad,” you chuckle. “Let me know if you need anything else, though.” When she raises an eyebrow, you add, drawing out the first word, “Anything at all. I am at your full disposal.”
She blushes again, tucking her chin down to turn her face away a bit. You know you should lay off on the flirting — you could get in trouble, and more importantly, the last thing you want to do is run Bella off and never see her here again — but the crush you’ve been tending to in your daydreams is growing beyond its bounds and burning you from the inside out. Your heart is racing past your head, just from the thrill of being near her in a new way.
“Well…” she begins, then pauses to quietly clear her throat. She’s tapping her fingers on book cover, as if she’s nervous. When she speaks again, her voice is even lower than before, and you have to lean in to hear her. “I could use some company this weekend. There’s a movie coming out that I’d like to catch. If you want to go. Just you and me.”
You blink at her, your brows shooting up into your hairline. “Really?”
Her eyes narrow as a mystified expression takes over her face. “You’re really going to flirt with me that much, and then act surprised when I ask you on a date?”
You let out a laugh, louder than you should, causing Bella to whip her head around, checking for anyone close by who might be disturbed by the sound. But nothing has changed — there is no one in the world but you and her.
“Well, when you put it like that, it does sound pretty silly. I just didn't realize you liked me too.”
Bella bites her lip again, and you don’t stop your gaze from drifting down this time. A whole world of possibility has opened up, and you are more than eager to discover it as soon as possible.
“How about you help me check out this book, and I’ll write down my number for you, okay?” she says, stepping away to head toward the front desk.
A thousand responses flip through your mind, from corny (“oh, I’ll check you out alright”) to sincere (“I would love to”) and everything in between. But her deep brown eyes and her perfect face and her soft, full smile and her low, lovely voice — like that first day, all of it has left you speechless. So, you just nod and smile and lead the way.
FINAL
THIRTEEN
Jace is asleep in his car seat in the back. He’s a calm baby, especially while in the car. The journey to Forks is long, particularly when you're driving alone. Jacob went ahead to take your things to his house. You’re afraid of what lies ahead, but you need Seth to tell you what happened to him. Night is nearly upon you when you finally begin to approach your destination, sensing that this journey will bring only challenges.
Jace wakes, whining loudly for you to feed him. Like his father, he sometimes feeds on blood, while at other times, he drinks milk like any other baby. You pull over on the side of the road to tend to him. In a thermal bag, a bottle filled with meticulously stored blood awaits your little heir.
At times, you wonder how difficult it will be when he grows older, forced to adapt to life as a hybrid without any examples to guide him in handling his vampire side. But the alternative—allowing Edward to discover that you gave birth to a child he never wanted, a child born from a love that no longer exists—is unthinkable. At least, that is what you tell yourself.
Gently, you lift Jace from his car seat, cradling him in your arms before offering him the bottle. He eagerly drinks, gripping it with surprising strength for his size.
A noise from the surrounding forest startles you, putting you on high alert. Jace finishes his bottle, his hunger sated, and offers you a small, contented smile. You quickly tuck the empty bottle away and secure your son back in his seat.
"So, you are the woman who lingers in Edward Cullen’s thoughts?" A voice speaks from a short distance away, startling you. You turn to see a vampire standing near your car. Instinctively, you shut the back door, ensuring your baby is safe, then fix your gaze on the stranger.
"Forgive me, but I do not believe we have met, nor do I understand your inquiry," you reply, your tone guarded. Something tells you to remain on high alert. For your son, you would do anything.
"I have not introduced myself, but for now, all you need to know is that the Volturi are watching you. There is a suspicion that the child you bore is more than a mere wolf, and we will be investigating further. Tell Edward that the Volturi have their eyes on him," the vampire says, his elegant attire and regal demeanor exuding an air of superiority as he studies you, as if attempting to unravel your secrets. With a slight bow, he disappears into the night.
Immediately, you rush to your car and start the engine. However, another vampire appears in front of it—this one muscular and terrifying. He places his hands on the hood, preventing you from driving forward. The situation unsettles Jace, who begins to cry, his little face scrunching up in distress. Your patience is gone.
"Jace, my love, mommy will take care of this and be right back," you say, turning to the back seat. You place his pacifier in his mouth and hand him his favorite stuffed animal. Then, you carefully put the noise-canceling headphones over his ears—the ones you recently bought. He clutches his toy, sucking on the pacifier as he gradually calms down. Unbuckling your seatbelt, you step out of the car, heading straight for the vampire.
"You vampires are ruining what was supposed to be a peaceful mother-and-child trip," you say loudly, preparing to shift into your wolf form.
"Victoria sends her regards," the vampire sneers, flashing his fangs at you. He is going to attack. Without hesitation, you charge at him, transforming mid-stride and slashing at him with one of your claws.
"You shouldn’t have done that," he growls, grabbing your wolf body with brutal force, attempting to break something.
The pain is sharp, but you thrash violently, your mind filled with the only thought that matters—who you are protecting. With a final surge of strength, you sink your teeth into his arm and tear it off, freeing yourself at last. The vampire looks enraged as he charges toward you at full force. Pain surges through your body, but you remain firm, bracing for the next attack. He throws a punch at your snout, but you anticipate it, and despite the pain, you sink your teeth deep into his flesh and shake him violently, tearing him apart.
With vampire blood staining your mouth, you rise in human form, intending to return to the car—only to see another vampire approaching your son. There is no time to react.
Before you can move, Edward appears behind the vampire and swiftly rips off his head. It is strange that your reunion happens like this—you, standing naked, while he protects your child. His child. Your car is splattered with blood, but your baby is safe.
"Are you all right?" Edward asks, noticing the difficulty with which you move, the wounds inflicted by the muscular vampire taking their toll.
"I could be better, but thank you for protecting my boy," you say, feeling a wave of embarrassment wash over you. You are truly grateful, but guilt gnaws at you. His son is right there, and he doesn’t even know.
"Do you need help?" Edward offers, watching you struggle to retrieve your emergency change of clothes from the car. For some reason, Jace starts crying as soon as Edward gets closer to you.
"Could you hold him? He won’t stop crying unless he’s rocked, and I need to get dressed," you suggest in a quiet voice. Under normal circumstances, you would never ask Edward to hold Jace, but as a mother, your child’s well-being comes before any discomfort or unresolved issues.
Edward nods silently, opening the car door and gently lifting Jace from his seat. Somehow, Jace has pulled off his noise-canceling headphones but still clutches his stuffed animal. Edward cradles him, soothing him with a soft hum. Taking advantage of the moment, you quickly dress, regaining some composure. A sharp sting reminds you of the wound on your abdomen from the fight.
"He looks like you," Edward murmurs while rocking Jace with careful tenderness.
"I always thought he looked more like his father. But Jacob says he resembles me, too," you reply, fastening the last piece of clothing.
"He is beautiful," Edward murmurs as Jace uses his tiny hands to caress Edward’s face, his fingers quickly brushing against Edward’s sharp canines. Edward bares his fangs playfully, and Jace, utterly delighted, bursts into laughter. He has clearly taken a liking to Edward, even without knowing that he is his father. Jace giggles as Edward holds him securely, growing accustomed to the weight of the baby in his arms.
"You and Jacob have built a lovely family," Edward says as Jace finally pulls his little fingers away from his mouth. How you wish you could tell the man before you that this family was supposed to be his. But you shake your head, pushing away any sentimentality, and step forward to take your son from Edward’s arms.
"Thank you for your help. I don’t even know how you knew we needed it," you say, cradling Jace close and seizing the opportunity to change the subject.
"Alice saw that a vampire with ill intentions would be here looking for you," Edward says while holding Jace’s tiny hand, playfully entertaining him. Jace bites Edward’s finger, using it to soothe his aching gums as his teeth threaten to emerge.
"Thank her for me," you reply, pressing a gentle kiss to Jace’s forehead as you rock him in your arms.
"Would you have told me you were back if not for this?" Edward asks, his tone more serious now as he meets your gaze. And just like that, you are back where you left off before you left Forks.
"It’s not as if we had anything to say. It’s been over a year since we ended things—nothing more courteous than staying out of each other’s way," you say, noticing how Jace watches your conversation with quiet curiosity.
"You could never be an inconvenience to me," Edward murmurs, catching you off guard. "You’re the reason my life has meaning." There is a weight in his voice, a sadness that suggests this time apart has been anything but easy for him.
"We were a mistake for each other, Edward," you say, stepping away while still holding your son as if clinging to a lie. And in truth, that is what it is—because Jace is the greatest right in your life, and he is the result of what you once had with Edward.
"The best mistake we could have ever made was staying together, Y/N," Edward counters, reaching out to touch your face as he steps closer. His touch stirs memories—of the happiness you once shared, of the wedding that never happened, of everything that made you love him.
"I don’t recall you saying that when I was forced to stand by my pack instead of marrying you," you reply bitterly, stepping back from him, unwilling to dwell on the past that still haunts you. You turn and place Jace in his car seat, deciding it is best for him to be shielded from the complicated nature of his parents.
"I wasn’t in the right frame of mind when that happened," Edward admits, his voice low with regret. "But you need to know that since you left, I’ve been miserable. My mind isn’t whole without you."
He moves closer as you shut the car door, his hands finding your neck, his lips just a breath away. Your back presses against the car, his presence overwhelming. It feels like a dream, like something that should have had a different ending.
"I can’t allow myself to live in our chaos anymore, Cullen," you say, taking his hands in yours and gently pulling them away. "I am a mother now. My son deserves a life free of turmoil. I’m grateful for your help, and for the way you treated Jace, but there is no future for us." Edward seems to finally accept the truth, his expression shifting as if reality has settled over him like a heavy weight.
"I’ll respect your decision," he murmurs. "But if you ever need me when it comes to your son, I’ll always be here." His gaze shifts to Jace, watching him play with his tiny fingers inside the car.
"You need to be careful," you warn. "These vampires came after me because of Victoria, and before them, some pompous vampire mentioned that the Volturi are either watching you or looking for you. If things with the wolves are already tense, having the Volturi on your trail is even more dangerous." Edward smiles at your concern, then straightens and leans in, pressing a lingering kiss to your forehead.
"God, how I’ve missed you," he whispers as he pulls away. And then, when you open your eyes again, he is gone—no farewell, no final words. But you know this won’t be the last time you see him. With a quiet sigh, you return to the car, resuming your drive to the Black's house.
Rumination
Ruminate
(v.) To think about something deeply
After Edward left her, Bella Swan fell apart. Desperate to try and save his eldest daughter, Charlie brings his youngest daughter to Forks to see if she can bring her sister out of her depression.
Now, y/n must try to help her sister find her way back to the light while also trying to navigate her Junior year of high school in the odd town of Forks.
Chapter Seven: Confrontation
---
Now playing: Monsters by Hurricane Bells
Warnings: mentions of heart attacks resulting in death (Harry Clearwater), mentions of suicide (Bella jumping off the cliff at La Push), cursing, mentions of funerals, Edward is introduced (his dramatic ass is a warning in and of itself I’m afraid)
Everyone keeps trying to force Paul and I into the same space. It’s driving me mad.
I don’t want to talk to him until he apologizes, and he’s been stubbornly silent on that front. All I want is an apology for his actions, and all’s forgiven. Mostly.
It makes me snappish and irritable whenever anyone tries to force proximity between the two of us. It has a similar effect on Paul, who’s taken to staying out of the house.
Sam and Jacob keep giving Paul meaningful, pointed little looks that I don’t understand. Even Bella’s been roped into their bullshit, dragging me along with her to Emily’s when she knows Paul is there.
Victoria’s still being hunted by the pack, so it’s not like I could just stay home. As much as I’m starting to resent it, I’m safer at the Rez.
---
“Why haven’t you been hanging out with me recently?” Max demands, sitting down beside me in Physics. I sigh.
“Max, I’ve been busy—”
“With work? Chelsea said you quit.” I didn’t like how accusatory he sounded, and my already touchy nerves bristled.
“I have shit to do outside of school Max,” I tell him, my voice harsher than I intended, “Sorry if I haven’t been able to make room in my schedule for everything for the last week.”
“Don’t act like that,” he hissed, “You’ve been ditching me to go to the reservation with your other friends and—”
The bell rings, cutting him off. He gives me a long look before muttering, “We’ll talk about this later.”
I sigh forcefully, knowing that this day was just going to go to shit.
---
I was right.
The day did go to shit. I failed my math test, US History assigned a shit ton of homework due by the end of the week, and Max wouldn’t leave me alone about my six day absence in his life.
He managed to corner me before I could escape to my truck, pulling me aside by the side of the school.
I sighed, “Max, I really don’t have time for this today—”
“You don’t have time for me ever, anymore.” He challenged, interrupting me. I stared at him flatly and he scoffed, “Don’t give me that look, you know I’m right. You’ve been running off with those freaks from the reservation, the ones in the gang!”
I made a face before I could stop myself, “They aren’t in a gang, you moron,” I told him, “And they aren’t freaks, either.”
He scoffed, “Whatever, Y/n. You know, after you dropped that freak, Paul, or whoever, I thought we had something going, you know? But now you’re running back to him like a—”
He cut himself off, and I quickly demanded, “Like a what, Max?”
He just shook his head, “Run back to your freak show already, they’re waiting for you.”
He turned and left, and I stomped towards my truck. Bella and Jacob were already waiting for me, and Jared was sitting in the bed of the truck as he peered over at me.
“What was that about?” Bella asked, getting into the passenger’s seat as Jacob hopped into the back with Jared.
“Nothing.” I hissed, slamming the door shut and peeling out of the parking lot.
---
We all got to Emily’s and Bella was quick to shower and change.
I sat with Emily as she made stew, telling her about my day. Dinner was ready at seven thirty sharp, and everyone rallied around the table as Bella helped me plate all the food.
Quill, Embry, and Paul walked in just as I put rolls onto their plates. The three of them washed up quickly, and Paul sniffed.
“Trouble in paradise, Y/n?” He taunted, “Doesn’t smell like that horrendous cologne rubbed off on you today.”
Fed up with bullshit for the day, I slammed his plate in front of him and grabbed my own, marching back to the room Bella and I had taken over to eat by myself.
“You’re so full of shit, Paul,” Jacob hissed at him, but I slammed the door before I heard anything else.
Tears welled up in my eyes, but I refused to cry. In a house full of werewolves, they would all hear it, and I refused to give Paul the satisfaction.
After a minute, Bella came into the room and sat beside me on the floor. She ate her food without speaking, sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with me as tears streamed silently down my face.
“Do you want to go back to Charlie’s?” She asked, and I took a deep breath.
“No,” I said, “It’s fine.”
She was quiet for a moment more, “You and I will skip school tomorrow, go on a hike. Get some fresh air.”
I nodded, finishing my food.
---
The next day, Bella and I went out for a hike early. We left at six in the morning, driving to the La Push trails.
We went together for a while, eating lunch at a scenic outlook. She went on towards the cliffs at the beach, but I stayed behind.
I sat hugging my knees as I thought.
Paul was an asshole. I wanted to hit him. Max was a dick. It was only partially justified.
Sam made me want to bash my head in. He needs to stop trying to shove Paul and I into making up. I’m about to tell Emily that if he keeps doing it, I’m staying at Charlie’s exclusively.
No, that would probably only make him force Paul to babysit my house.
I don’t know how long I sat there, but I eventually got back up and started to make my way back to Bella. A knot formed in my chest, and I hurried back. Before I knew it, I was running towards her, breaking the tree line and seeing her standing on the cliff before me, looking at the waves.
I was about to call out to her when she jumped, letting herself fall towards the waves. A scream ripped from my throat as I shoved my backpack and jacket off, running out of my shoes as I dove after her.
I watched her hit the water as I began to plummet, and I prayed that I could catch her and that she wasn’t trying to kill herself by drowning or blunt-force trauma from the surface of the water.
When I hit the water, the temperature made me gasp. I choked for a moment before diving to try and find my sister. I held my breath as long as I could before I had to resurface, diving back under as soon as air entered my lungs.
I kicked against the current and my hand snagged on something. I looked over and saw Bella, her eyes closed as she laid motionless in the water. I grabbed her under the arms and hauled her back to the surface, swimming as fast as I could towards the shore.
It was the adrenaline, I was sure, that let me get to the sand. If I wasn’t too worried about my sister dying, I probably would have drowned myself.
I dragged her onto the sandy beach, watching as Jacob came sprinting over. I was shaking, her hand clutched in mine, as I watched him get her to breathe again.
Fat tears rolled down my cheeks as I sobbed, cold and distressed. Jacob picked Bella up and hands pulled me towards a chest. With the adrenaline fading, and the cold getting to me, I was too tired to see who had picked me up and just let it happen.
---
I woke back up before Bella did. My eyes opened, and I saw her face in front of mine. Her eyes were closed, but she was breathing.
I exhaled, relief flooding my system.
“You’re awake,” Emily said, her beautiful face coming into my line of sight.
“Yeah,” I croaked, sitting up.
She looked like she had been crying.
“What happened?” I asked, knowing she wouldn’t have wasted tears on Bella and I when we had survived.
She looked at me for a moment before speaking quietly, “Harry Clearwater had a heart attack. They’re arranging his funeral now.”
I lurched forward to hug her tightly, “Emily, I’m so sorry, oh my god.”
She sniffed, “Everyone’s over there to comfort Sue and their kids. Your dad, too.”
The two of us sat there for a long while before we both laid down in the bed. Emily fell asleep quickly, exhausted from crying. I just stared at the ceiling.
---
Jacob took us back to Charlie’s house when he heard we were awake. We got there, however, and he froze.
“There’s a vampire in there—” he started, but Bella shoved past him. I followed, assuming that it was Edward.
I grabbed a cast iron pan from the stove and yelled, “Edward, you sickly dickhead! Come here so I can beat your ass!”
I stormed into the living room and swung on instinct when I saw the shape of someone who wasn’t my sister or Jacob. The small woman dodged it easily, looking at me grimly.
She opened her mouth, but spotted Bella and launched herself at her for a hug.
“Wait! Wait!” Bella yelled at Jacob and I, “It’s Alice! This is Alice!”
I watched her warily, the pan still clutched tight in my fists. My sister cried as she hugged the woman, Alice.
“Oh, Bella, how are you alive?” She asked, “I saw you jump, I saw your sister jump after you, but—”
She took a breath and continued, “I saw you go into the water and I waited and waited for you to come up, but you didn't. What happened? And how could you do that to Charlie? Did you stop to think what this would do to him? And my brother? Do you have any idea what Edward–” She cut herself off, looking to me.
“Why did she jump, Y/n?” She asked, and she said my name with such familiarity that it was unnerving.
“For fun, she said.” I informed her, “She wasn’t trying to kill herself.”
“Why did I not see you pull her out, then?” Alice pondered, “I saw you coming to Forks, I saw you hiking, I saw you jump after her, but I couldn’t see anything after you got within a yard of the beach.”
“Jacob and Paul pulled us out of the water from there. Jake got Bella breathing again, and they took us to the reservation.” I told her, watching as her face went slack with understanding.
She pinned Jacob with a stare, “I thought she drowned,” She said slowly, “Because I can’t see past you and your pack of mutts—”
“Watch it, Alice,” I warned, “Him and his pack of wolves are the reason Bella and I are still alive, and Jacob’s the reason Bella’s even a functioning person today.”
She sniffed, conceding, “I suppose.”
Bella and Alice caught up with each other in her room. Jacob and I sat with Charlie at the dining room table.
He told us stories of Harry Clearwater, seeming dazed that he was dead. He kept flipping between past and present tense when talking about him.
Charlie went off to bed a while after.
The phone rang, and Jacob picked it up. Carlisle was calling, asking for Charlie.
“Now’s not a good time,” Jacob said, “Charlie just got back from arranging a funeral—”
The line went dead.
Not a second later, Bella and Alice flew down the stairs and lunged for the phone, only to hear the dial tone.
“What did you do?” Bella demanded, and I whipped my head to look at her critically.
“Jacob didn’t do shit, Carlisle asked for Charlie and Jake told him that he had come back from arranging a funeral—”
“That wasn’t Carlisle,” Alice said quietly, staring into the distance, “Edward thinks Bella’s dead. He’s going to the Volturi to—”
“Hold on, the who?” I demanded, but was ignored by both my sister and her guest. I looked to Jacob, and he mouthed, “Vampire Police?”
“I have to go save him—!” Bella said, trying to walk past me.
“Wait a damn minute, Bella,” I said, stopping her, “Save who? That sickly piece of shit who left you when things got hard?”
“Edward’s going to get himself killed!” She shrieked, and I scoffed.
“He nearly killed you, and you’re rushing to his rescue because he’s jumping to conclusions instead of asking for confirmation?” I demanded, and Bella pursed her lips.
“You would do it for any of us,” she told me, “No matter how angry you were or what we did, you would still go save any of us if we were trying to kill ourselves. Just like you already did for me today.”
I was silent for a long moment.
“I’ll tell Charlie where you went,” I said finally, “But I won’t stop you. You’re eighteen now, anyway.”
She smiled, hugging me tightly before rushing off towards Alice’s car. Jacob chased after her, and I went upstairs to shower.
(Edited 1/4/25)
Am I team Edward? Am I team Jacob? The answer is, for cannon, neither. I was originally soooo team Edward when I watched/read the first movie/book, but during New Moon I loved the werewolves (still do obvi) and I did love Jacob so much until Meyer completely nerfed his and Quil’s characters by making them imprint on CHILDREN
Fanfiction’s free game though, I’ll eat it up no matter who it’s about.
Anyway, hope yall enjoyed!! Lmk what you guys think and if yall want to see anything specific/have a request for anything, let me know!! I’m open to writing for whoever and about almost anything ☺️
Bye bye for now (I’ll post again tmr)
That's it. I'm writing a Twilight x Reader fanfic. Here's the summary down below.
Twilight Various! x Fem! Reader-Insert|
y/n has always had an interest in the occult. Being raised around a superstitious family was part of the reason. The other reason was because of her fascination with horror. There were so many things that were hidden in the dark that people never noticed. She could only imagine what unspeakable and borderline eldritch beings are hidden away from the world. But for her that's all it was at the end of the day. An imagination.
Living with her auntie in Forks wasn't too bad. She helped out with the dinner and always called her parents every week. Then a young girl came back to town. y/n was surprised to see her childhood crush back and her feelings intensifying. Yet it seems like y/n isn't the only one interested in Bella Swan.
I'm also looking for someone to proofread the first chapter. It's far from done, but I'd like to just throw this out there right now instead of waiting when I finish it.
