Just finished reading Twillight and I'm not gonna do an analysis cus theres more than enough of that i imagine, but oh my god their relationship is unhealthy as hell and the narrative doesn't seem quite aware of that? Like is the author criticising, romantisising or simply showing their relationship with its flaws and perks? Both Bella and Edward be lowkey unstable and their relationship is so intense and weird and they became incredibly obsessed and dependant on each other immediately, it feels like even if they wanted to they couldn't ever break up, they can never be apart again no matter what, it feels like they're trapped together. Idk it was awesome and fun to read tho I didn't take it too seriously until the very end when i was like hmmm wait

#also the power dynamic is off the rails not just physically but Edward can manipulate Bella into literally anything he could want #and he has sometimes too #bella seems to havr no sense of self worth or love without edward she is nothing without him and thats jarring #and the way she tries to pressure him into making her a vampire like girl shuttup you're 17 you've known him less than a year you know not-#-what being a vampire entails and it's completely irreversible AAA #but whatever she can die for all i care its just a book #like i fr did not take it that seriously for the most part but at the end it balled up and dawned on me #Twillight #i read it for the vampire stuff and it did not disappoint!#vampire
