Tennis 3/10/2025 summary. Yesterday was a lot of fun but unfortunately I fell asleep so I missed the Gael vs Grigor match. And I heard that one was very good so I might go back and watch it

Madi vs Elise was going fairly well and nothing mindblowingly entertainimg was happening, so I clicked out of the stream. But then as soon as I clicked out, Madi fumbled like 5 match points and it had to go to 3 sets. Madi eventually won but if I was tennis player and I fumbled that many points I'd probably get angry and storm off the court 🤥✋️.

I wasn't concerned about Taylor losing the first set against Tabilo. Tabilo's year has been terrible like I think he had only won 1 match this year coming into this one (which ooooh that would rattle my confidence so bad to have like a 5 match losing streak or whatever tf it was 😵‍💫). He doesn't capitalize on opportunities so Taylor was able to win it in 3 sets. I don't know how Fritz vs Draper will go. Either of them could win and I wouldn't be surprised. It feels like Taylor is injured with something and he can't move as well as he'd like. Jack has been playing very well this entire tournament so I think he's in better form.

Coco was playing so much better yesterday than in her match against Uchijima. Like until the last game, she only had one double fault. For Coco standards that's amazing. But then she got the yips when serving for the match and proceeded to make like 6 double faults. I kept screaming for her to slow down when serving. (You can tell when Coco is about to double fault just by the way she tosses the ball. Like the toss isn't straight or directly in front of her.) And she got so stressed that she looked like she was on the verge of tears again 🥺. But fortunately for her Maria didn't capitalize and kept making unforced errors so Coco was able to win the match without playing another game. Not sure how her match vs Bencic will go because Bencic played much better yesterday in her match. But maybe Coco will ride on the confidence that she's already beaten her this year to get through? No clue 🤷‍♀️.

I have said it a million times already but Carlos is so fun to watch. Carlos can play against anyone and I'd be entertained. Besides being broken when serving for the first set, he did very well. Also it takes 2 to have a good match so shout out to Shapo as well. Oomfs on other platforms are concerned about Carlos having to play Grigor next. I read one tweet that talked about how Grigor plays like he's Federer when he goes against Carlos. But that cannot hurt me since I've never actually seen a match between those 2 🙏

My body is now trained for the Aussie swing (I live in eastern us time) because tell me why I fell asleep at 6pm, woke up just in time for Jannik Alexei second set but more importantly, Belinda Anna and Danielle Ons but idk if I should stay up (again) because I have work 🙂‍↕️🫠

One of my favorite summer traditions in DC is to go to Citi Open (now Mubadala Citi Open)! I braved the heat to watch some good tennis!
