I received a full size jar of @Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel from @Influenster to try for free and all opinions are my own. At first I wasn't sure about the product, but once I put it on I loved it! I have oily skin so I'm always on the lookout for something that moisturizes without the greasy feeling and doesn't break me out. Thankfully the refreshing cool gel was super light feeling, went on smooth, absorbed into the skin quickly and made my skin feel hydrated and fresh. I also liked the blue jar it comes in and the nice clean smell. My only con is it seems a little pricey, but something I would probably end up splurging on because I like it that much. I recommend using this in the morning before you put on any makeup or product, and at night after you’ve washed your face before bed.

Hydro-Boost Your Skin!

Thanks to the Powers That Be at Influenster, I received this lovely package in the mail of Neutrogena’s latest in skin-satisfying technology Hydro Boost Water Gel. 

Hydro Boost retails for around $18.99(USD) on their website, but can be found at drug stores for any range pricier or cheaper. If I were to purchase another one of these tubs, I would make sure to shop around first. Personally, ~$20 is a little pricy for any tub of moisturizer, but for this gel I may need to make an exception.

When I first opened the package, I noticed that the box’s size was a touch misleading. About one/third of the packaging alone was the tub, the rest were built in cardboard “rests” that “lifted” the package above the Neutrogena line. This may just be a personal thing, but it seem ecologically unwise to waste so much packaging for the prize inside.

And boy, was there a prize inside. This gel was perfect! Since I have normal skin that sometimes dries out with the weather, I started small with a tiny fingertip of gel. This was all I needed, and I was able to cover my face and neck with ease. The gel doesn't feel greasy, but it also never feels like it “dries.” Instead, your skin just starts to feel fuller, smoother even.

The trick is Hyaluronic Acid. This compound is naturally found in our cells, but things like that pesky sunlight and aging can destroy the presence in our skin. Without it, our skin dries out and becomes more susceptible to cracking, splitting, and other unflattering things. This gel is one of the first cosmetic uses that doesn't involve a painful trip to the doctor with a needle, and serves to reintroduce the compound into our skin, hydrating it for hours on end.

The Hydro Boost gel is one of several great products in the new line by Neutrogena. While I haven’t tested the whole line, I can tell you that the gel works wonders. My skin felt baby soft by the end of the night, despite having been out in the sun all day. The only problems I had were an error on my part: my gel liquified when it was left on my windowsill, and poured out when I took the lid off. So I would warn you to keep it in a cool, dark, place and avoid turning it upside down anytime. Other than that, a little goes a long way and have fun feeling fresh all day!

First glance...man it's a good sized container! Smells good - a mix of gentle floral and "lotion". A quick swatch on my hand shows...asorbs quickly and the area does feel nicer after having it on. Well update after some use. =) Excited!

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Water Gel Review: Let me start this review by saying I used this product two times a day for two and a half weeks. The gel consistency was nice and made it so a little goes a long way. It sinks into the skin very quickly and does hold moisture for a while. I really liked the packaging colors but not the fact that it was in a tub. (I feel that’s a haven for bacteria.) It has a light fresh fragrance, which at first I did not find overwhelming. The only problem I encountered was an irritation with my eyes (and I used it very far away from them). I’m not sure if it was the fragrance or maybe because I’m a contacts wearer. Overall this product was not for me, because of the eye irritation. Also I don’t really like the idea of putting anything with a fragrance on my face. I would suggest it if you don’t have sensitive skin but extremely dry skin. "I received these products complimentary from Influenster for testing purposes."
