Sanji: Can't believe I'm doing this. Going to a guy's place. Oh God, why am I so nervous and excited and nauseous all at once??
Zoro: Well here it is.
Sanji: ......did you get robbed?
Zoro: No!? What the fuck!?
Sanji: Where is—not even a couch—Im not fu—ON THE FLOOR!?
Zoro: I have a mattress RIGHT. THERE.
Sanji: ON THE FLOOR.
Zoro: God you're so picky! Do you wanna do it or not? Because my roommate will be back from work in two hours so we don't exactly have a lot of time.
Sanji: I feel so bad for your poor roommate. Living with you must be a nightmare.
Zoro: Hey! Living with me is awesome! ......my roommate has a bed, you know. Like a box spring and frame and everything—
Sanji: I'M NOT DESECRATING ANOTHER PERSON'S BED!
Zoro: Jeez, fine! I won't have sex with you then! Do you at least wanna see my roommate's Sora Warrior of the sea collection? It's like massive, it's insane.
Sanji: His fucking what.

Nap time
Pairing: Roronoa Zoro x fem!reader
Summary: it doesn’t seem but Zoro is very, very much considerate
Masterlist
Tumblr media
Having a low social battery was not something meant for a pirate, but here you were, on a ship living adventures left and right.
Taking naps around the Thousand Sunny was always a quest itself: the girl’s dorm, even tho it was the best option in reality was the worst. Luffy will barge in full force and you would fall from your hammock; Nami’s studio was very not a nice option. Yes, the woman was silent all the times but Sanji was too loud for you, waking up and making you grumpy for the rest of the day; Chopper’s infirmary? To avoid after a huge battle; the deck? Too much chaos; the garden? Unless you wanted to burn under the sun, go ahead, if not, avoid.
The only place that was a safe place was the crow nest. That part of the ship was avoided from everyone thanks to being Zoro’s place to train and nap. Sanji wouldn’t come unless to inform food was ready; Luffy and Usopp had better stuff to do downstairs, you thought they even forgot about it sometimes; Brook and Franky would be too busy with their things; Jimbe, Nami and Robin knew better to not bother you.
After a hot shower, you were ready to go and relax to your new spot. Your body was aching to lay down and sleep, your muscles so relaxed that you didn’t know how you managed to get on top without falling.
Entering the small room you were happy it wasn’t a complete mess, but again it never was when you wanted to go there. This was something that always puzzled you. Knowing Zoro this was out of his character.
You shrugged it off, too tired to think too much about it.
Checking around you found a pile of towels on the desk and you were so glad about it. Taking one, you covered the pillow and after some seconds you were gone into dreamland.
Zoro knew your current position. He had been searching for you around the Thousand Sunny to ask you something, a stupid question to be honest.
“Ohi moss head, have you asked YN what she would like for dinner?” The swordsman only shook his head no, getting a death glare from the blonde pirate. “You forgot didn’t you? Ah I always have to do things myself” before the cook could leave the kitchen Zoro stopped him by gripping the collar of his white shirt.
“I didn’t forget. She is sleeping in the crow nest” he said with his stoic voice. “And honestly, don’t you know what she likes?” The tone was more teasing this time, exposing a sensitive nerve.
Zoro spent the rest of the day training and avoiding people to bother you: he would help out Nami with folding clothes; helping Chopper reorganize his set of new medicines; threaten Usopp and Luffy every time they tried to climb to the crow nest, all this untill he thought you had rested enough to survive dinner.
He climbed up easily, used to do it on a daily basis. Opening the door he tried to be as gently as possible, to not give you a scare. Even his steps are light, something he never imagined was possible for him, but yet, here he was. Walking on eggshells to not scare you.
“Y/N” it was a whisper even if he didn’t mean to, it just came out like that. “Are you still asleep?” You shifted position, still sleeping, he took it as a yes and was going to leave when he noticed you were going to fell anytime soon.
He didn’t know what to do, he didn’t want to wake you up, but he didn’t want you to fall either. He tried is best to move you closer to the wall, but he kinda failed.
“Is dinner ready?” You asked, half asleep. Zoro thought the world stoped for a second, he hated to feel this way when it was about you. He hated how much he cared for you. He hated… “I hope Sanji remembered to not put veggies in my plate” you said standing up.
The swordsman was just able to keep silent, what was he supposed to say? Was he supposed to tell you he remembered the cook what you liked or didn’t like? The man couldn’t say a word no matter how much he tried to.
“Have you recharged or I have to stop…”
“Is okay, don’t scare Luffy away.” You stoped him and left the room before he could ask you if you were sure. “Let’s go.” You added.
Zoro came back to reality after a while, he was not catching feelings, was he? He cares for you as much as he did for the others. Okay maybe he cared a little bit more il for you but just a tiny bit. Just a bit more, maybe. He shook away the thought, following you down on deck. He was totally making sure Luffy wouldn’t bother you too much, that was a fact.

Sanji
Tumblr media
Sanji stood frozen in place staring at your cheek that was now turning red. He looked at his hand like he had never seen it before. “Get out” Your voice was barely above a whisper but Sanji’s head shot up at your words. He fell to his knees sobbing as he pleaded “No, no please. I’m so sorry I don’t-“ “Get. Out. Sanji” you cut him off with your voice more firm this time. He searched your eyes for any trace of forgiveness or even joking. When he only found pain betrayal swimming in your once love filled eyes, he slowly stood and exited the girls room.
As soon as you heard the door shut your knees buckled and you let out a choked scream as you crumpled to the ground. The door opened and Robin and Nami ran in, they took one look at you and the mark on your face and immediatley knew what had happened. They pulled you into their shared embrace and rocked you back and forth while your tears soaked through their shirts.
Beneath, in the kitchen, the boys were harshly scolding Sanji, but it wasn’t their hits or words that hurt him, it was the sound of your screams and cries that had drifted down into the kitchen, it sounded like you were being tortured. Little did he know that’s exactly what it felt like.
That night Sanji sat on the deck of the ship, trying to drown himself in sake. His brain wouldn’t let him forget your face though, and he knew that he deserved the pain and so he gave in and let his thoughts drown him instead....
Forever she said we would be together
I promised her I would stay by her side and protect her
But will she still want me at her side when I’m the one she needs protection from
I promised to be with her till the the very end
I was supposed to be her lover but I did something you wouldn’t expect from a friend
I need to win back her heart
But what if what’s needed now is to part
Sanji had always thought he was different than his brothers, who had no problem laying a hand on a woman, but here he was. To say his heart was broken would be an understatement. Sanji wanted you back, but he doubted that you would have him. And so Sanji silently came up with a drunken plan: he would sit back and care for you from afar, he wouldn’t make a move, he would start over. Yes. Yes that would work. That would win back the hand of his princess.
But if it didn’t, he would dwell in memories of the time you loved him and the time he deserved at least a pinch of your love, while watching you smile because of another.
Ace
Tumblr media
Ace stared down at his hand like it had just sprouted 4 mouths. He heard you shift on the bed where you sat holding your reddened cheek. Ace looked up at you slowly and felt the crushing weight on his heart intensify- you looked at him like a deer caught in head lights. The innocent doe eyes that he loved so much were now filled with betrayal and looked at him like he was a monster. “I- I think I should go” Ace whispered not trusting his voice to talk regularly. You nodded and turned your eyes to the floor as he made his way out of your room and shut the door behind him.
Ace’s head spun as he made his way down the hall of the Moby Dick towards Marco’s room where he knew Thatch was as well. He knew they would yell at him and most likely hit him for hurting you so badly, but he wanted to feel the pain that he had inflicted on you. Sure enough as soon as he told Thatch and Marco what happened they started wailing on him.
He sat in silence with a bruised and bloodied face, accompanied by Marco while Thatch went to comfort you. Marco was the one to break the silence “What now Ace” Ace took a deep shaky breath “I try to win her back” he said this with a firm tone despite the deep rooted fear that it wouldn’t work. Marco nodded, he didn’t know if his friend would be able to win your heart back, nor did he know if his friend really deserved to. Ace was torn between the need to have you back, and the need to keep you safe from even him. If you showed no interest in getting back together, he would leave you be, knowing that he could still protect you from afar.
Ace passed your room on his way back to his, he could hear Thatch’s voice coming from inside. It hurt to know that he couldn’t go in to comfort you, but instead he had to have his friend do it instead. Ace felt numb, like anything he did right now would be useless. But tomorrow was a new day, and he would win your heart back. He allowed himself to wallow in his painful thoughts, and oh how heartbroken his brain was
If eternity is the time I must wait to regain your heart
Then I will wait all eternity
Because as the world crumbles away
My feelings for you are indestructable
I may always be trapped in this game
But as the sun rises and the stars shine
My feelings will stay the same
For without you I don’t know what to do
My only thought is to get back to you
But if all bridges have been burned and crossed
Our love may be lost
Ace would protect you no matter what, even if you no longer belonged to him and were now in the arms of another man.
Zoro
Tumblr media
Zoro felt his stomach turning as his handprint appeared on your cheek. The sight of your terrified eyes watching him for his next move scared him more than any enemy ever had. He felt disgusting. “I- I think you should sleep in the girls’ cabin tonight” Zoro’s voice was shaky as he looked anywhere but at you. You slowly got up and walked around him towards the door. You stepped into the girl’s cabin and collapsed on the floor clutching your cheek as Nami and Robin ran over to you. Nami was out the door in a flash leaving you in Robin’s arms while she went to find the swordsman.
After an hour Zoro had sustained beatings from the whole crew who now watched him judgingly as he downed another bottle of sake. He remained there until he heard a particularly loud sob from next door and his stomach finally gave up. He dashed out of the cabin and leaned over the railing of the ship, spewing the contents off his stomach into the sea. He slumped down against the railing as his mind wandered off
I know your love can’t hold on much longer
But this break will make us stronger
You own my heart
But I fear I may have lost yours
If you ever change your mind
I’ll be awaiting you
If you say friends is what we’ll be
I’ll hope for now
But the moment I hear your call
I’ll stand there waiting to end your fall
And if we’re meant to be
Your path will always lead you back to me
And I hope and I pray
That we are meant to be
Because I can’t live without you
For you’re the the only one for me
But if another catches you
Then I’ll have to lose
But your name will be the only one that I choose
Zoro knew he deserved the torture he was experiencing. But he knew it was nothing compared to what he would feel if he lost you, we he would take the slow and safe road for once so as to not scare you into the arms of another.

Star in the Sand Ch. 2
Tumblr media
Sitting at the table with your second cup of tea in your hand you watched as he flipped through another one of the manga, this time one of Impale down.
"Straw-hat is the main character of these books?" he asked and heard her hum. Rolling his eyes he looked over the scene where they made their escape. "How far back does his story go?"
"Well it starts off with him in a barrel on Alvida's ship. He had just started out and didn't even have any crew members yet."
"Alvida? How did he get in a barrel on her ship?" he asked.
"He ate all the food in it and fell asleep, he was drifting in the ocean and this cargo ship picked it up not knowing he was inside. Alvida attacked the ship, took he barrel onto her own ship and left it there. When he woke up he busted out and defeated her. He takes one of the small ships and goes to Shell Town where he picks up Zoro." you told him, lifting your cup to take another sip of your tea.
That boy was strange, nothing about it. "And how far along does this story go? How does it end?"
"It hasn't yet, where are you at? What was the last thing that happened?" you asked him.
Taking a deep breath he leaned back in the chair and looked at her. "I left after the war, I plan to head to the New world." he told her.
"Ah, so you are in the two year time skip. Okay well I am a little past that."
Narrowing his eyes he looked at her, "What do you mean two year time skip?"
"There is a time skip in the story, two years where you don't see anything that happened, everyone mostly goes their separate ways. Luffy is very distraught over Ace's death, the Straw-hate pirates aren't even together where you are now." you said with a shrug.
"But they get back together after this... time skip?" he asked and saw her nod. Humming he thought on it all before looking back into her eyes. "You said you are further into the story than where I just came from, am I still alive?" he asked.
"Yes." you answered simply.
Humming he tapped his foot. "So you also know everything that is going to happen in the near future."
"Well that's not set in stone and I am not that much further." you said with a tilt of your head.
"Everything that I have read in that book has been true to my knowledge." he stated. "So tell me what happens next." he said with a smile.
"I'm not telling you." you said with a small grin and saw his smile drop.
"Why not?" he growled.
"Because that's foreshadowing and it might throw things out of wack." you told him, finishing you tea. Standing you moved towards the sink, "Besides you're not even in the next arc." you told him, putting your cup in the sink.
Getting up he moved after her, "I am not asking, I am demanding you tell me." he said, not used to people telling him no. Seeing her turn around and look at him he saw the same calm look on her face. "You know me woman, you know what I am capable of..."
"Yes I know who you are but I am willing to bet that you haven't been able to use your powers since you got here because there is no such thing as devil fruits here." you told him with a sigh. Seeing the angry expression on his face you looked up at him and gave a small grin, "I can tell you that none of things that have happen will affect you. You have not been caught by the marines and you are not dead so let the rest be a surprise." you said with a shrug. Glancing towards the clock you saw it was well past midnight. "Look I really have to go to bed, I have to go to work tomorrow. There is a second bedroom you can stay in until we can figure out how to get you back if you would like." you told him in a calm voice.
Looking down into her ever calm eyes he again felt his temper dwindle down and let out a deep sigh. He just couldn't seem to stay angry at her, the thought of causing her harm in any way making him feel strange. Gritting his teeth he nodded and saw her give him a small grin before she turned off the kitchen light and showed him to the guest bedroom where a simple bed waited for him.
Seeing him standing in the door way you looked down, you knew it wasn't much, not high class living like he was used to but it was all you had to offer. "Goodnight Crocodile." you said in a soft voice before walking down the hall a bit to your own bedroom.
He didn't say anything as she bid him a goodnight and when he heard her door shut he didn't hear the click of the lock follow. Did this woman have no fear? Perhaps she was just stupid? Looking back towards the bedroom that would be his for the time being he stepped inside and closed the door.
.................................
Waking up he put the too tight shirt back on along with his hook before walking out of the room. Her bedroom door was closed still but he coudl hear what sounded like water dripping. Going across the hall to the bathroom he turned on the light with the switch and saw there was a folded pile of clothes on the vanity, his clothes. Quickly pulling them on he buttoned his shirt but decided to leave off the scarf for now. Brushing back his hair with his hand he glanced up at his reflection to make sure he looked decent before leaving the room. Making himself busy by looking over her books he heard her door open and glanced over as she walked into the room.
"Oh good morning, I see you saw your clothes." you said before walking past him into the kitchen. Opening the fridge you grabbed a bottle of water and closed it to see him leaning in the entryway. "There is coffee up there if you would like some, cups are in the cabinet above along with sugar, creamer is in the fridge." You told him. Grabbing your keys and purse you turned back to him when he spoke.
Watching her walk around and grab things he let his eyes glance over her body. She was wearing a pair of jeans that were tight fitting down to about her mid calf where they flared out some. A button up black shirt adorned her upper half and he noticed she had the sleeves rolled up to her elbows. Her long red hair was left hanging down her back in waves. She looked... nice, attractive. "How long will you be at work?" he asked.
"I don't get off until twelve tonight."
That was a long time, "Where do you work exactly?" he asked.
"I'm a bartender at the local bar in town." you told him. "You are welcome to whatever you want, there isn't much food wise, I haven't been shopping yet but I am sure you can find something."
Grunting he looked around the home, "And what exactly am I supposed to do all day?" he asked.
"I don't know, read a book, watch TV, go for a walk... plan your next country domination." you told him with a shrug.
Ignoring her sarcastic comment at the end he narrowed his eyes at her, "What is a TV?" he asked.
Walking towards the living room you grabbed the remote and turned on the TV. Seeing his shocked and confused expression you held back your grin. "You can flip through different channels with these buttons and these control the volume. This one is to turn it on and off. There are like 300 channels so I am sure you can find something to watch." You told him, pointing to the buttons and flipping through a few channels until you saw something familiar and giggled, "Oh look Peter Pan is on, the writer of One piece based your character off the pirate in this movie." you told him.
Furrowing his brows he watched the moving picture, seeing a young boy dressed in green flying around. "What pirate?" he asked as she handed him the remote and moved towards the door to put on her boots.
"Captain James Hook." you told him and saw his brows drop further. "Don't look at me like that I didn't name him. I have to go, see you later, if you're not sleeping."
................................
Getting home you parked your truck and let out a heavy sigh as you opened the door and headed up the steps towards your front door. The TV was still on, you hoped he hadn't fell asleep in front of it again. He had now been here for three days and he had been doing well at keeping himself busy. He had already finished four books, one being Treasure island. For the most part he kept the house clean, there would be a few dishes but nothing more than that. Opening the front door you stepped inside and quietly took off your boots. Glancing towards the couch you saw him sitting there watching something. Looking towards the TV you rose a brow and moved over to sit on the couch, leaving a space between the both of you. Handing him the bag of food you relaxed for the first time today. "You are watching Pirates of the Caribbean?" you asked, a little amused.
"It caught my attention, they had been on for the past few hours." he said simply. Looking into the bag curiously he took out the thing wrapped up in paper.
"It's a burger and fries, I didn't know if you ate." you said, your eyes closing as your body begged for sleep.
Humming he unwrapped the thing and looked it over before taking a bite. It was good, most of the things she had brought him were to his liking but none of it compared to her actual cooking. Glancing at her out of the corner of his eye he saw her eyes were closed and her head was resting on her palm. Over the three days he had been here she had worked everyday, leaving at around 8 or so and staying gone until she got home around 12:30. Every morning there was some sort of breakfast waiting for him meaning she woke much earlier that eight. Three days straight of working sixteen hours or more, no wonder the woman was exhausted. Not once had she complained though, he hadn't heard a single bad word out of her the whole time he had been here. "Do you work tomorrow?" he asked, seeing her eyes snap open before they hung heavily over her eyes.
Sitting up you rubbed your eyes and nodded. "Yes, I don't have to be in until two though. If you would like we can go into town and see about finding you some new clothes before I have to go to work." you told him, forcing yourself to stand on sore feet. Going to the cabinet you pulled out the bottle of pain medicine and dumped two into your palm, hoping to kill your headache before it became a migraine.
She would buy him clothes? So far he had been trying to deal with the ones he had been wearing and then the too small ones when he had to. Watching her moved about the dark kitchen he raised his chin. "If it isn't too much of a problem."
Shaking your head you sighed. "No you need more than one set of clothes. They won't be as high fashion as you are used to but I'll do the best I can." you told him. Realizing how that probably sounded you bit the inside of your lip and looked down. "I'm sorry. I.. I'm going to head to bed. Good night Crocodile."
Furrowing his brows he watched her walk from the room and heard the soft shutting of her bedroom door. Had she apologized to him because she couldn't afford nice clothes? Humming he looked around her home again, it was fairly bare and simple. Other than books he hadn't seen any personal touches, there wasn't even any pictures of her family on the walls. Finishing the food she had bought him he stood and tossed the paper bag in the trash before turning off the TV and heading to the room to call it a night.
......................................
Waking up the next morning you looked to the clock and saw it was almost ten, shit. Quickly getting out of bed you pulled on some clothes and brushed your hair and teeth. Walking out into the kitchen you saw Crocodile sitting at the table drinking his coffee, a book in his hand. "I'm sorry, I overslept." you told him but heard him reply in his normal deep voice.
"Do not apologize, you need rest." he assured her.
Sighing you slowed down some and moved to make yourself some coffee. Grabbing the pot you looked back to his own cup. "Would you like a refill?" you asked.
Giving her a small nod he watched as she came over to refill his cup for him before moving to put it back and add creamer to her coffee. Looking her over he blinked slowly, "Your mother and father must be proud to have a daughter as well mannered as you." he said, meaning to pay her a compliment but when her brows lowered and her lip moved back between her teeth he knew he had said something wrong.
Releasing your lip you took a deep breath and stared at your cup as you steered the brown liquid inside. "Actually I.. I was an orphan." you told him, keeping your eyes down. Tapping the spoon on the rim you gave a small grin, "But thank you all the same." you told him. "I treat people how I would like to be treated." you said softly. Taking a deep breath you turned towards him, leaning against the counter and holding the hot cup in your hands. "What are you reading?" you asked, glancing down to the book now resting on the table as he lifted the cup.
So that was why there were no pictures, lifting his cup to his lips he took a sip before looking to her when she asked him about the book. "Dracula." he said with a sigh. "I haven't gotten too far yet."
"It's a good book, a classic. There are like a hundred movies based on it." you told him. Seeing him raise a brow you grinned. "If you like it and you want to, we can watch the best one, well in my opinion."
Grinning he nodded, "Very well."
After the both of you finished your coffee and a small breakfast you cooked you walked him out to your truck seeing him look at the thing with one brow raised. "I've told you all about it, it isn't going to bite you." you said with a small grin. Seeing him give you a small glare you rolled your eyes. He was already annoyed when you told him he couldn't wear his hook into the stores in town, explaining that no one wore things like that here. After a stare down he finally removed the heavy thing and pulled his sleeve down over his scared wrist. Opening the passenger for him you waved you hand towards the inside, "Age before beauty." you said with a teasing grin.
Huffing he moved inside the 'Truck'. "I'll have you know if you were anyone else you would be dead by now." he threatened but it only made her let out a small giggle. The sound making something flutter in his chest for a moment before he quickly looked away from her.
Shutting the door for him you rounded the truck to get in the driver's side. Buckling your seat belt you looked to him and raised a brow. The ever stubborn man let out a deep sigh as he reached behind him to grab the belt and mimic your movements. As soon as it snapped into place you started the vehicle and started driving to town.
He mostly just glanced out the window as the moved, there were lots of trees and he could see a few mountains in the distance. Seeing a large body of water he lifted his chin, "Is that the sea?" he asked.
"No, that's the Missouri river, the ocean is probably about a good 2 days drive from here." you told him.
Humming he looked at her, "Have you ever been to it, the sea?" he asked.
"Not since before I could remember." you told him, pulling down the road going into town.
"If you can't remember then how do you know you were there at all?" he asked when her words made no sense.
"Well I was told that I was found in a basket that had washed up on shore when I was only a couple months old." you told him.
Frowning he looked to her, "All by yourself?"
"Yep. The lady at the orphanage said that some fisherman found me when they heard me crying. Said there wan't any one else around or anything in the basket with me but a wool blanket and a locket."
"Was anything in the locket? What did it look like?" he was honestly curious about the whole ordeal, it was like something out of a storybook.
Reaching into your shirt you pulled the gold locket over your head and held it out for him. It was funny you had never let anyone touch your most prized possession before but you... trusted him. Probably stupid since he was a pirate and all.
Taking the golden locket into his hand he looked it over, seeing a wave looking design carved into the top that had been almost rubbed almost smooth, age most likely. Seeing a small button on the side he pressed it with his thumb and saw it flip open. Looking on the inside he saw a badly faded and water stained black and white picture of a man and woman, a small babe int he woman's arms that he assumed was her. On the other side was what looked sort of like a log post. "These are called compasses here correct?" he asked.
"Yes but that one is broken." you told him.
Reading the engraving around the edge he turned it in his hand, 'Your heart will be your guide.' Humming he closed it and handed it back to her as she stopped the truck and tuned it off.
"Thank you." you told him putting it back around your neck and tucking it into your shirt. "Okay so this is the only place that is probably going to have your size." you said as you opened the door and got out of the vehicle, tossing your purse on your shoulder and tossing your keys inside. Walking to the front you saw Crocodile come to stand by you, his eyes looking around at the small shopping center. "Ready?" you asked and heard him hum.
Sitting in one of the chairs by the fitting rooms you played a game of chess on your phone while Crocodile tried on the clothing he had picked out. Hearing the door open you glanced up at him and saw some of the clothes hanging over his left arm. "Find some you like?" you asked.
"Yes, this should been enough." he said in a deep voice. He had picked out three pair of pants and three shirts, one being a shirt that he saw her looking at. It was a dark blue button up shirt with long sleeves and made of a cotton material, surprisingly it was very comfortable and he liked it was easy to button. He had also go a single pair of lounge pants that he could wear at nighttime.
"Okay. Well bring them over to the counter." you said as you stood and walked with him towards the counter.
Watching the woman at the front counter fold and place the items in a bag.
"Your total is $127.53." the woman said.
Feeling his brow twitch a little at the price he next saw as y/n took out a card of sorts and swiped it through this machine. When the woman behind the counter handed her a piece of paper and told them to have a good day he quickly grabbed the bag before y/n could. It was bad enough she was buying him clothes he wouldn't make her carry his bags as well. Seeing her grin softly up at him he bowed his head some and walked out of the store with her.
Unlocking the truck you looked to him, "Are you hungry?" you asked him, seeing as it was lunch time. When he nodded his head a little you grinned at him and tilted your head.
Shutting the door to the truck he followed her to another place a few ways down from the clothing store. When she opened the door and held it open for him he felt his brow twitch again. He had always been a traditional person and the way he saw it a man should be the one doing things like this for a woman, not the other way around. He knew she wasn't doing it because she thought he was handicap, well she better not be, no he had come to notice she was just a kind person. An extremely kind person. Had this been the other way around and she had showed up needing help he would have no doubt laughed in her face and kicked her to the street. For some odd reason though she had saw fit to help him and had yet to ask for anything in return. He had been waiting for it over the past few days but nothing came. Sitting at a booth in the far corner he saw as a young man came over and handed them menus.
"Hey there y/n."
"Hello Lance, how are you doing today?" you asked with a kind smile.
"Doing good, hope you are too. See you brought company today. What can I get you to drink sir"?" he asked.
She must come here often. "Water will be fine." he said and saw the boy nod.
"Okay be right back."
Furrowing his brows he looked to the woman in front of him. "He didn't ask what you wanted to drink."
Grinning you looked at him, "That's because I get the same thing every time I come." you told him simply.
"And what would that be?" he asked as he lifted the menu to look it over.
"Freshly squeezed lemonade." you smiled.
Humming he saw the boy set both glasses down on the table and heard him say he would be back to take their order in a few minutes. "So any suggestions?" he said with a sigh.
"Well I like all the food but the Ruben but that's because I don't care for rye bread." you said with a shrug.
"What is a hot dog?" he asked.
"Do you want the honest answer or the more appealing one?" you asked and saw his brow raise. "Pretty much all the parts on a pig that people wouldn't normally eat ground together and made into a long stick like thing that is slapped on a bun with some mustard and ketchup."
Knitting his brows he closed his mouth and took a deep breath before dropping the menu and reaching for his drink. "I'll go with the fish." he said and heard her giggle again. Once his food was set before him he looked down at it and hummed, it smelled good at least. Looking up he saw her just sitting there sipping at her lemonade, "Where is your food?" he asked.
Snapping your eyes up to him you shook your head, "I don't eat lunch." you told him.
Frowning he glanced down at his food before looking back up to her, "Then why did you bring us here?"
"You said you were hungry." you shrugged.
"If I would have known you weren't going to get anything I would have just waited until we got back to your home." he growled, not liking the fact that she was again doing something for him.
"It's fine Crocodile, I am fine with my lemonade, you eat." you told him.
Taking a deep breath he glared at her. She was back to looking down at her phone, completely missing the hard look he was giving her. Gritting his teeth he let out a deep sigh, why couldn't he stay angry at her? Lifting his fork he placed a piece of fish in his mouth, the food now tasting bland in his mouth knowing he was the only one eating. "What are you doing?" he asked.
Looking back up at him you tilted your head some, "Playing chess, it's a strategy game." you said.
"Go on..." he said, wanting something to talk about.
After telling him about the game you saw him nod.
"Is it a game you can only play on that thing?" he asked.
"No, there is a physical version, I don't have a set at home though." you told him. Thinking you bot your lip, "I think there s one at the bar though, if I can find it I'll bring it home and we can play... if you want to that is." you said, looking down when you realized how desperate you probably sounded.
"It sounds like a challenge, I like them." he nodded. Finishing his food he took a sip of his drink, "I would like to go to this bar you work at, it is growing bore some at your home." he said.
Shocked you looked back to him and nodded, "If you want to go that's fine but I won't be able to take you back home, you'll have to stay there until I get off and that won't be until 12 tonight. Also it's kind of a rough place." you warned.
"I have spent plenty of nights in shady bars before, I think I will manage."
"Okay if you are sure." you said. Standing you tossed down a few bills on the table, leaving Lance a tip as well.
Standing he slid out of the booth and walked with her to the door but this time he stepped forward to open the door for her. That fluttering in his chest returning when she smiled at him and gave him a small thank you.

My part for the @lawlu-events BigBang 2018/19
The story got illustrated by the awesome artist @novicecomics
The way Law thinks about alcohol + work or alcoholism in general does not reflect my opinion. Do not drink and drive/work. Do nothing, that could endanger you or others. Be responsible with any kind of legal drug that you consume!
Chapter 6: Stomach-Issues
Law was restless. He was not sure why he felt like this. The night had been rather relaxing. He had managed five hours of sleep, which was quite a lot for a person like him.
The morning had been eventless. He had managed to eat his breakfast in a relaxed manner. No annoying people had bothered him. The Strawhat had been nowhere in sight. Some folks might call it paranoia, Law called ‘staying safe.’ After breakfast Law went to the doctor’s office, swapped shifts with Dr. Kureha. She sounded a bit buzzed. The room was left in a mess. Good thing, that the cleaning staff took care of it in a swift manner. Law was already waiting for the inevitable to happen. He sat at the desk, waiting for the Strawhat to barge in. One of his friends in whatever condition. But he did not come. There were a few elder people in need of some light medication against nausea, some girls wanting lotion for the blisters on their feet or lotion for their sunburns. One teen had come with a twisted ankle and another person with a migraine was currently resting in one of the prepared rooms. So far, nothing unusual. So far, no Strawhat.
In the last hour no one had come to visit him. It could be, that it was because one of the doctors sharing his shift was way more friendly (especially towards children). But well, nothing Law was concerned about. He disliked children. Their usual friendliness, the innoence, their open manner made him uneasy. Damn, mandatory three-month traineeship on the pediatric ward had been hell. Law wanted a different traineeship. He had three to pick from and Doflamingo had picked for him. He was supposed to be good with children. He was supposed to take care of the future family descendants. Law sighed. Not the things he wanted to think about at the moment. He had to admit, that sitting around at the moment and doing nothing, was not doing him any good. It never did. His mind wandered off to the Strawhat more times than Law liked to admit. Did he finally realize, that the attempts at befriending him had been futile? Probably. It was just a typical thing. It had happened before many times. People always tried to befriend him. Somehow, they constantly thought, he had a cool or special vibe to him or maybe it was due to the fancy clothes from the Donquixote-brand. Law did not care about their reasons. After being declined two, three or more times, they realized that Law had no interest in them. Usually, the attempts at trying to befriend him stopped by then. Law always thought of these people as pathetic beings, like Doflamingo has advised Law. The Donquixote had taught him many things that stuck with Law till today. If these people were sincerely interested in him, they were supposed to try harder! That is what he had said. Cora-san always said, that friends would stick with him, even in critical times. These pathetic attempts at befriending him made Law feel, as if they were not genuinely interested in Law but only in what he represented. A perfect little Donquixote spawn, made and raised to be a loyal pawn. However, something had seemed unusual about the Strawhat. Law could not pinpoint what it was. The cheerful grin, the shishishi or just his presence in general. It had some fairly familiar vibe. With a sigh he took one of the medical books standing next to him. They were outdated, probably just there to look cool and professional. But well, better read something, then being bored.
With every passing minute, with every voice outside the door, that was not the Strawhat his mood dropped a bit further.
When his shift was finally over, he was angry and frustrated. Of course, he had to be right. Of course, no one would be like Cora-san ever again. Trying hard to be friends with him, to get close to him.
Sometimes Law was not quite sure if it was his own fault, that he ended up without friends, or if he could blame being raised by a megalomaniac sociopath. It was always easier to blame others than to admit, that only he could alter his attitude. The exchange of the room was easily made. The cleaning staff did not have much to do. The migraine-patient was still resting. After filing in his report, he left the room. With a grumpy expression on his face, he walked towards the deck.
No. Law was in no mood of idle socialising. He did not want to see any more people than necessary. With a sigh he turned around and walked towards his cabin. The more time he spent with Dr. Kureha, the more Law thought that maybe alcohol was the solution he needed, chemical pun intended.
Grim thoughts spread through his mind as the keycard was pushed through the card system. The door opened and with another sigh Law fell into his bed. Maybe he should have spent the mandatory time-off with the family. Better than feeling yet another disappointment.
Law was not sure how long he had spent brooding in bed. Long enough, considering his alarm clock showed nine in the evening. His shift had ended four hours ago. Wait- what was this noise? Someone was hammering against his door. “Torao!!! I know you are in there! Torao!” Laws eye twitched. No. He had spent too much time thinking about the Strawhat. This was just another auditory hallucination. “Torao?! Are you sleeping?”
With a sigh and the familiar throbbing, that would soon start to be a migraine, he opened the door. “No. But if I was, now I would be awake anyway!” He growled, looking at the over enthusiastic boy in front of him. Why was the damn boy constantly smiling!? Who could be in such a upbeat mood all the fucking time?! “Good that I did not wake you up then! You often look tired!” “Why are you here…?” Law was in no mood for idle talk.
“I uhm-“ Luffy frowned. He wanted to ask him for the barbeque again. Nami did say, that Torao was just gonna decline again, if he did it the same way as the days before. Stubborn! Who could decline good food this often?! Nami did suggest, that he could fake some kind of disease to spent time with Torao but Usopp said, that Toroa was probably to smart for that. True, then again. He could just try! “I uh- have a stomach ache!” It was the first thing that entered his mind. His eyes were still gleaming, and the corners of his mouth were twitching. It was hard to fake sickness! Luffy was in a good mood, and he wanted to show it! “You have a stomach ache?” Laws voice was monotone. Even though he was a relatively young doctor, he had his fair share of people trying to fake illness. Some because of medicine-addiction, some to get free from work, others due to psychological reasons. All these people had one thing in common, though. They did it way better and realistic than the Strawhat in front of him! The way he starred at him; eyes locked deeply into his. His mouth was twitching to much; his whole posture was tensed up. One did not have to be a genious to recognize these signs. “Are you sure? “N- Yes!” Luffy knew, that liars often looked away. They said that in one of the criminal shows. So, he had to look in Torao’s eyes to make him believe! He stared. Intensely. “Okay. Did you consume something odd?” “No! I did not eat at all! I waited with the dinner until you come. You did not come out on the deck! So, I went to search you! Hn-“ Luffy’s stomach rumbled loudly. He was starved! He had not eaten since noon! That was nearly six hours ago! “You searched me, because I did not come to the deck?” “Yes!” “I thought you came to me because of your stomach issues.” Law suppressed a sly grin. Too easy.
“I-“ Luffys eyes widened a bit, before he started to laugh.“I am not good at lying! Usopp is extremely good at that!” Law was fascinated. How easy the boy could admit, that he was bad at something this substantial. Lying. Who managed to live without lying?! “But yes. I wanted to find you! After talking to the old had, she described me, where your cabin is! Come now! Let us go eat! After ten we cannot eat the deck anymore!” “No, Str-Luffy. I do not want to eat with you. I dislike barbeque, and I do not want to be with either you or your friends on the deck.” For a moment there was a frown on Luffy’s face, before he grinned again.
“Okay!” He turned around, taking a few steps away from the other’s door. Law stood there, frozen. He left. As easy as that? He pushed away the feelings of regret and isolation. Numbness spread through his veins, making it easier to accept. As always. Slowly, Luffy turned his head around, grinning at Law. “If you do not wanna be with us on the deck, then I bring my friends to you! We eat at your cabin!” Law was too shocked to react for a moment. In his cabin- “Wait, no!” This boy. He had not let him down.
„Okay, fine!“Law exhaled, while gently massaging his throbbing temples. This boy gave him a terrible headache. He wished for nothing more than some painkillers, coffee and a cigarette amd maybe a good lay to get rid of these thoughts. “If I go and eat with you once, will you stop bothering me?!” “Yes!” Luffy grinned. He knew, he could convince the other one! “You and your friends will not come to my office room again. If one of you is dying, you will go to one of the other doctors!” “Sure!” Luffy laughed, amused by Laws reaction. He had known, that Law was more than the calm and unapproachable person!
“Come! I am starving!” He reached for the others hand, simply pulling the other one towards him. “Let us go to the others! Nami likes you! Usopp is scared of you! But he is frightened of many things! He will get used to you! Just talk to him about robots or comics! Or insects!”
“Of course you are hungry, so much to stomach problems!” He knew, the other one had been faking! It had been so obvious. He had never witnessed such a pathetic case of faking… in all his years as student or now doctor. Merely observing him lie, had made Law feel awful. Stomach Issues... He had watched Luffy eat. The amount of food the other one had stuffed into himself in the short time Law, had observed him, had been… surprising. Law was curious. Was it a special medical condition? Luffy was not obese; in fact the boy was far from it. He was more of a scrawny person with a hint of muscles. Not enough muscles to justify the intake of the immense amount of calories. Maybe these thoughts would distract him from the annoying company of the Strawhat and his odd friends.

Next Chapter: 20
For what must have been the third time since she'd called Sanji that morning, Nami apologized.
"It's just, I got pretty wasted," she admitted with a sigh, walking slowly through her kitchen to prepare herself some coffee. "And I ended up bringing my date home with me, and, well, you know how that goes."
"I don't mind! I'm just flattered you remembered to call me at all; you really are so sweet!"
Despite the early hour, Sanji already seemed to be running on full energy, which at first had been kind of annoying, but was now starting to become tolerable. He'd been so chipper when she'd first called that, for just a moment, Nami'd thought that he'd gotten over his issues himself.
But whenever she started to mention Zoro, Sanji would either abruptly change the subject or stop talking altogether. As if his forced attitude wasn't annoying on its own, the fact that he was unwilling to confront his problems was beginning to wear her down as well.
Ignoring the monumental headache her hangover was causing her, she did her best to keep herself in a positive mood. She'd been worried at first that his attitude was because he was upset with her for neglecting to call him like she'd promised the night before, but she was sure now that it was just because he was struggling.
Barefoot, she stepped as quietly as she could across the linoleum flooring through the kitchen. Her skin stuck and peeled with each step she took, and though the action hardly made any noise, she felt like her date, still sleeping in her bedroom, could probably hear it.
"How was your date, by the way? Did he treat you as well as I did on ours?"
Sanji had been casually trying to get details from her about her evening throughout the duration of their conversation. He'd been subtle about it at first, but when he realized subtly was getting him nowhere he began to ask about it directly. She wouldn't have minded so much if she didn't know that he was just using it as an excuse to avoid talking about his own romantic issues.
"My my," Nami teased, tucking and holding her phone between her ear and shoulder as she spoke. "Is that jealousy I'm sensing?"
She heard him scoff as she filled the Keurig machine with water and then sifted through the pile of k-cup coffee pods she kept to find the flavor and strength she wanted.
As she turned it on and began to wait for the water to heat up, she set the phone down on the counter briefly to hoist herself up to sit beside the coffee maker.
"I'm just making sure that the standards a woman of your caliber must have, have been met!" Nami laughed quietly at his words as she picked her phone up to hear the tail-end of his rant. "Especially since you brought the man home!"
A cheeky grin crossed her face that Sanji couldn't see.
"Not that it's any of your business, but, yeah, I'd say my standards were met," she mused, stretching out her legs. "But, hey, enough about me; we both know that this conversation isn't supposed to be about me and my romantic interests."
That shut him up, but if he was going to be direct with her, then, well, she'd just have to be direct with him in return.
Waiting for Sanji's response, Nami yawned and stuck her k-cup pod into the machine once it alerted her that the water had finished heating up. Almost as if called in by the machine itself, Nami's sister appeared in the kitchen.
Fully dressed and in the process of tying her dyed blue hair up into a bandanna, Nojiko quirked her brow when she noticed Nami was on the phone.
"Who're you talking to?" she half whispered, half mouthed.
"New friend," Nami quietly replied before muting herself on the phone so Sanji couldn't hear them. "How is it you always know when I'm making coffee?"
"Who's the new friend?" Nojiko asked, ignoring Nami's question as she approached, applying the finishing touches to her hair.
"Some guy Zoro found at the Sunny." She took her filled cup of coffee out of the machine so Nojiko could use it and set it aside to cool. "He's having like, an identity crisis of sorts."
"How kind of you to be there for him."
Nojiko's sarcasm made Nami frown.
"It is way too early for you to be throwing this much attitude at me," Nami said, angrily taking a sip of her coffee, which ended up burning her tongue. "Fuck, ow. What'd I do this time?"
"Put some pants on," was all her sister had to say as she set up their coffee machine to start a brew for herself.
As Nami was about to retort with, no, she would absolutely not put on pants and would, in fact, walk around the house all day in nothing but a t-shirt and underwear if she wanted, Sanji ended his silence.
"Sorry. I just don't know how to really approach it."
"That's okay," Nami said, giving Nojiko the stink eye before she realized she was still muted. As she unmuted the phone, she repeated herself. "That's okay. I know it can be tough."
She was aware of Nojiko watching her and listening in to the conversation as she waited for her coffee. Giving her a scowl, Nami slid off the countertop and grabbed her mug and wandered away into their living room.
Settling into her favourite armchair, she sighed contentedly as she took another sip of coffee and relaxed into the cushions. The mug warmed her hand as she held it, eventually forcing her to place it on a side table when it grew to be too hot. Alone in the room and finally able to start self-medicating her hangover, Nami could give Sanji her total and complete focus, though it seemed as though he'd clammed up again.
She wondered if there was anything she could do to help ease him into talking openly with her. As it stood, it was obvious he wanted her help, but didn't know how to make himself available to it. His pride or whatever it was was getting in his way.
"I have an idea," she said, sticking her tongue out at Nojiko as she passed through the room and out the front door. "A way to make this easier to talk about for you."
There was another patch of silence on the line before he said, "Okay."
"And, hey, if you don't want to, you know that's okay, right? We don't have to talk about anything you don't want to."
"Thank you for your concern," he said with honest relief. "I really appreciate everything that you're doing for me."
Nami leaned up out of her chair for a moment to grab the television remote. She pressed the power button and then immediately muted the TV as it turned on, fulfilling her desire to have something going on in the background that she could offhandedly watch.
"I'll just have to have you return the favor someday," she remarked casually, flipping through the channels until she found one that was airing some cartoons. "But yeah, it's no problem. Anyway, back to my idea.
"You know the game 20 questions, right?" she asked, and once she had gotten affirmation that yes, he did, she continued. "Well I was thinking we could do something like that, except instead of asking questions like to try and figure something out, we ask them back and forth to figure each other out.
"I'll ask you a question, you answer it, and then you ask me something. It can be about anything, but we both have to answer, no matter what the question is. Fair?"
It was the only thing she could really think of that would help ease him into finally having a conversation about Zoro. Offering and demanding total and complete honesty was going to be hard for the both of them, especially since they were near strangers to one another, but it would definitely serve to bring them closer as well.
This way, she'd get to know more about Sanji and whether or not he really was attracted to Zoro in some fashion, and he'd be able to trust her without issue.
They just had to be honest with one another, which would likely be easier said than done.
"Is there a question limit?" he asked.
"Let's start with five for now; see how well it works out."
"Okay."
Scratching at her undercut, she mentally noted how long it was getting and hoped she would remember to ask Nojiko to shave it back down for her later.
"You go first," she said, grabbing her cup of coffee again and drinking from it readily.
There was a pause as Sanji thought of what to say next. While he was quiet, she thought up some questions of her own as she waited, wondering what it was he would ask her first.
"You're sure it can be about anything?" he asked hesitantly.
"Yep. Anything."
Her eyes were directed towards the TV, watching whatever child's animation was being broadcast when he finally asked his first question.
She was momentarily caught off guard when he said, "Who's Luffy?"
It was her turn to fall silent as she processed his question. Briefly stunned, her vision blurred out of focus before she shook herself out of the slight stupor.
"Um, wow," she said, taking in a deep breath as she set her coffee aside. "Going all out on question one, huh?"
"You said anything," he said guiltily. "If that was out of line, then I apologize-"
"No, no, it's fine, I just- just wasn't expecting that."
Leaning back into her chair, Nami ran a hand through her hair. Sanji didn't know it, but his question was difficult to answer. There was just so much when it came to Luffy that she rightly didn't know how to take what she knew about him and turn it into a satisfactory answer for him.
Honestly, she'd expected Sanji to ask something about Zoro, not about one of her old bandmates, which led her to wonder what exactly it was he wanted to know about him. Did he want to know who Luffy was in general, or who Luffy was to them specifically?
"Luffy was- is -" Sighing in frustration, Nami furrowed her brow and blankly stared ahead in an attempt to collect her thoughts. Where had Sanji even learned of Luffy's existence to begin with? Though, she had told Sanji to look up their band in the past, so it wasn't unlikely that he'd found out about him indirectly from her.
"He started the band," she finally said, speaking slowly when her eye wandered over to where she kept a flag that had been detailed with their band's jolly-roger logo. "Our band; it's his."
All three of them had gotten a flag emblazoned with their logo once the Mugiwara Menace had taken off and started to become popular. The flags were a reward and a memento for successfully recording their first album together; a reward the three of them prized highly in their own way.
Zoro hung his in his bedroom, Luffy used to have his tied to the antenna of his car, and Nami kept hers framed in the living room, just above their fire place beside a large portrait of her mother.
They were, the three of them, united by the jolly-roger's grin.
"A few years ago his brother died and he went away because of it," she continued, her gaze fixed upon her flag. "It was really bad- the rest of us were on tour, and we knew something was up with Ace, but we all kind of hoped whatever it was he was mixed up in would just- resolve itself, you know? Luffy didn't think that way, though; said he needed to leave about halfway through to check on him but his brother died almost as soon as he got to him. No one's seen or heard from him since."
It hurt to talk about. She didn't even really want to, but part of her hoped that Sanji would recognize how difficult the subject was for her and be able to unburden himself the same way when it was his turn to answer an invasive question.
"He promised he'd come back, though. So that's what Zoro and I are doing right now. Waiting for him to come back."
She had to wipe away some wetness that had begun to creep out of her eyes. They all knew they'd handled Ace's situation poorly. There was so much more they could've done for him if they'd just tried. Nami wasn't even sure why they hadn't tried harder for him, especially since it'd been super apparent that he wasn't doing alright.
And even though they hadn't heard from Luffy in years, Nami still retained the belief that he would come back when he was ready, regardless of his current Richey Edwards status. She knew that he didn't blame them for Ace's death, but likely blamed himself and needed to learn how to live with it as a result.
"I'm sorry to hear that," Sanji finally said after a quiet moment. "But thank you for sharing that with me."
There was more to Luffy than just that, but it was all she felt she could say without breaking down entirely. Nami sniffled and took a moment to collect herself. Walking back in through the front door, Nojiko noticed her upset appearance and quirked a brow, but Nami waved her off before she could ask about it.
"Of course," she said, speaking to Sanji as her sister passed by, giving Nami another odd look. "Ready to answer my first question?"
"No," Sanji replied, making them both laugh a little. "Of course I am."
With the mood lightened just a bit, Nami drank more of her coffee before shifting around in her seat.
"Okay. My question to you is this: what is it that you like about Zoro?"
Over the line, she heard Sanji splutter and cough out whatever it was he'd been drinking previously. She couldn't help but laugh as he struggled to clear his throat and felt her creeping sadness dissipate.
"I knew that was coming," he said, speaking hoarsely, making her laugh again.
"So you must've thought up an answer then, right?"
Genuinely curious, she hoped Sanji would take the question seriously.
"Uh. I have, but, honestly? Nothing."
"What? Are you being serious? We agreed we had to answer honestly!" Frowning, she couldn't help but be annoyed by his answer, especially after she'd opened up and said so much to him.
"I did! I'm sorry, my sweet, but that's my honest answer," he said. "I've thought about it, and I think… I actually hate him?"
"Wow," she said, bitterness seeping into her voice. "Well, there has to be something, otherwise you wouldn't be, y'know, in 'like' with him."
"I don't know why I am."
With a frustrated sigh, Nami sat up from her slouching position and crossed her legs over the cushion. Her headache that had slowly been going away started to return with how agitated she was becoming.
"Is it… his talent?" she asked exasperatedly, desperately grasping at straws, trying to find anything at all that had attracted Sanji to Zoro.
"I think he is talented, but no."
Nami groaned.
"Well… is it his attitude? His 'fuck off' demeanor?"
"…No, absolutely not."
"Do you think he's handsome?"
"Oh God, no-"
"Then what?!"
"I- I don't know!"
"Ugh, well, there goes the rest of my questions," she said bitterly.
Angry that she'd sped through them all trying to pinpoint where his attraction had come from, she slouched back into her seat and unmuted the TV. She kept the volume down low enough so that Sanji probably couldn't hear it and waited for whatever it was he had to say next.
"There was one thing," Sanji said around a sigh, speaking slowly and in a manner that sounded as though he were ashamed of himself.
With her interest piqued, Nami looked away from the television, but couldn't help but sound half-hearted when she said, "What thing?"
"It seems… really trivial, now that I think about it, but it's really the only thing I can think of.
"When I had that lesson with him the other day, he… touched my fingers. Maybe it's because I work so much with my hands, but when he did, I- I don't know, something happened. I think about it a lot," he admitted with some reluctance.
His attraction to Zoro wasn't as cut and dry as Nami had initially thought it'd been, which would likely make things more difficult down the road, but this made more sense. Just the other day Sanji had been trying to convince her that he'd never had feelings for another man like this before, so obviously Zoro must have done something extraordinary for Sanji to be attracted to him so strongly in such a short amount of time.
"Your hands?" she said, quirking her head in thought. "That's interesting."
"They're important to me," Sanji mumbled. "They're my livelihood, and he was… gentle."
Nami could practically feel him cringing to himself as he spoke to her about it, but this was the reciprocated honesty she'd been looking for when she started their little questions game.
"I know it's hard to believe, but sometimes Zoro's really considerate. He may seem like a blockhead a lot of the time- and he is!- but he's also fairly decent. He's not always the asshole he makes himself out to be, I mean, hell, there was a reason I dated him."
She'd meant for it to come out as a joke to try and lift Sanji's mood, but he didn't laugh. Instead, he asked, "Why did you date him?"
If Nami had thought his first question was tough to answer, his second one turned out to be ten times worse. Her shoulders slumped as a forlorn expression took over her face. These weren't the kinds of questions Nami had figured Sanji would be asking, and was definitely not prepared to answer.
"I'm sorry, you don't have to answer that," he said quickly when she lapsed into silence. "That one was out of line."
"Yeah, a little bit," she agreed, forcing herself to laugh a little to ease the sudden tension their conversation had accumulated. "But I would have."
"I know."
Their speech stalled as they each tried to deal with the awkwardness created by Sanji's question. He berated himself mentally for distressing Nami at all and decided he no longer felt up to the task of finishing the game they'd started.
"Nami, my darling, thank you for calling me. I feel much better about… everything after having listened to your voice for so long, and I am deeply, truly sorry for upsetting you at all." The sincerity in his voice was genuine as he apologized. Nami took note of it, and was appreciative of how genuine he was as a person. She needed more friends like that. "I think I'll ask you my remaining questions another time, though, to save you any further grief that I may accidentally cause."
"Trust me, you've done about the worst you could do already," she said with a smile, speaking in a tone that would hopefully let Sanji know that she wasn't really all that upset with him. "And that's fine, but I'm counting that question about Zoro and I as your second, which leaves you with three."
"Fair enough," he said, sounding far more relaxed than he had previously. "I'll talk to you later my sweet, gracious darling."
"Later, Sanji."
Upon ending the call, she dropped her phone onto the side table and groaned, rubbing at her eyes. The coffee she'd been drinking was growing cold as she picked up the mug and drank from it, and it was then that she realized Nojiko was standing nearby, watching her.
"How long have you been there?" Nami asked crossly. Nojiko's attitude from before still had a negative impact on her overall mood.
"Long enough to find out new guy has a crush on Zoro," Nojiko replied flippantly, entering into the room and taking a seat on the couch next to Nami's chair.
"You can't tell him," Nami said hastily, glaring daggers into her sister, who took the remote and turned the TV off.
"Calm down, I wasn't going to."
With the TV off, Nami understood that they were about to have a serious conversation. Already mentally taxed from having to deal with Sanji and his pent up problems, she groaned and sunk as deep as she could into the confines of her chair.
"There's a lot of new people in your life lately," Nojiko began, speaking calmly. She kept her eyes on Nami, who kept hers focused on the cooling cup of coffee in her hands. "You didn't tell me you were going to bring a girl home with you last night."
"What was I supposed to do?" Nami retorted, unable to keep her voice from sounding angry. "Tell her, 'hang on, I've got to call my sister and let her know you're sleeping over to make sure it's okay'?"
Nojiko remained calm and impassive through Nami's outburst, blinking at her slowly when she'd turned to yell at her.
"Relax, I'm not mad," Nojiko replied. "And no, I'm not saying you should have done that. I'm saying that you should've told me you were seeing someone at all. You're starting to cut me out again."
"It's not like I've been keeping her a secret," Nami argued, trying her best to keep her voice as level as Nojiko had managed to keep hers. "And I've really only known Sanji for a week!"
"And your girlfriend?"
"We're not-" Nami spluttered, taken aback by the direct language Nojiko had decided to label them with. "Well, not yet, but, no! We aren't there yet."
The look on Nojiko's face told her that her answer wasn't satisfactory. It also told her that she'd hurt her sister somehow by withholding the fact that she had been actively seeing someone.
It'd never been her intention to keep it from her, but there honestly hadn't been much of a chance for her to tell Nojiko she'd started dating again anyway. Their schedules were just so different now that Nami was working for Franky and Nojiko was busy tending to the farm, that there simply wasn't enough time for it. The only times they ever really got to hang out or do anything together anymore was when they went to concerts or Nami had the rare day off.
She could see where Nojiko was coming from, but at the same time it frustrated her because she knew she hadn't done it on purpose.
"Her name's Vivi," Nami said quietly in an attempt to placate Nojiko's want for information. "And I wasn't trying to hide her from you, it's just hard to find the time to tell you something like that without it seeming insincere, y'know? I didn't want to just do, like, a drive-by and say hey, I met someone without being able to really talk to you about it."
Nojiko's lips twitched downwards as she sighed and looked away, but she seemed to understand where Nami was coming from. There wasn't much either of them could do to solve their communication issues at that point, given their respective situations.
"You don't have to work at that store, you know," Nojiko eventually said.
"I know I don't," Nami said, setting her coffee aside. "But I want to. I like being around the music. I like being around Zoro."
Even though she told herself she no longer harbored romantic feelings for him, she still felt a strong need to stay involved with his life. Without Luffy there to give them a reason to be together, she was afraid that there wouldn't anymore reasons for them to hang out and keep being friends.
She'd explained this fear to Nojiko several times in the past, and despite the many assurances Nojiko gave her that Zoro wouldn't just drop off the face of her earth like that, the fear remained in the back of her head like seeing and knowing that you've squished a spider, but unable to find it's corpse afterwards.
"Speaking of Zoro," Nojiko said slowly, attempting to keep the conversation from being a repeat of similar conversations they'd had in the past. "How does new guy crushing on your man make you feel?"
"I hate that you call him that. He's not my man," Nami said sharply.
"Regardless, my question still stands."
"I don't care. Zoro's allowed to see other people; I am, after all."
"Then you should invite new guy to his hockey game tonight." The look of surprise Nami had on her face made Nojiko laugh. "What, did you forget he was playing?"
"No, I'm just surprised that you actually had a good idea for once," Nami teased, grabbing her cellphone to type up a quick text message invite to send to Sanji.
A bit awkwardly, they settled back into how they usually interacted with one another, much to their mutual relief. Sanji replied to the invitation with hesitant confirmation, to which Nami offered to pick him up and drive them all to Zoro's game together.
She assured him that, even though he had next to no knowledge about the sport, he'd have a fun time just hanging out with her and watching him play. With their evening planned and her relationship with Nojiko on the mend, Nami retreated back into her room where Vivi was still sleeping and got into bed beside her.

Dissentient - 10
Fanfiction: Dissentient Story Summary: Trafalgar Law wasn’t a lot of things. But the one thing he most definitely was, was a man in denial. But you’d never hear him say that. Instead, he’d just blame that damned Strawhat. Characters: Zoro, Luffy, Law Pairing: Eventual LawLu Rating: T Warnings: Swearing, angst, alcohol use, canon typical violence, mentions of suicide A/N: YOU NEED TO READ THIS STORY FIRST.
Ahhh sorry for the delay. I couldn’t finish this by Thursday and my life was crazy. Like I’d work a bit here and a bit there between the things I had to do all weekend. Once more, this is the end of what Oda has really given us so far. I DO have other plans for this, but it’s dependent on what happens next because this is the story I want to keep pretty close to canon! So until then, this story is ‘done.’
If you haven’t noticed: I’ve started a new series and it’s UA (Universe alteration) So it follows a similar plot to the canon story but there’s changes here and there. Check it out on my Ao3 or my one piece fanfiction page!

Part 9 || Part 10: 13.5 Happiness  || ??
Chopper was one thing – Law could understand it, certainly, but only at the barest of levels. He still went overboard however.
Yes, certainly the way he was acting around Luffy did appear to be unusual when one took into consideration what Chopper did know about him. But Tony-ya had not only assumed that what he knew about Law was everything there was, (not even considering the possibility of what he knew to be a charade of sorts) he then concluded that he had a concussion and ignored his protests.
(And, besides, hadn’t he already gone through that process and then eliminated the ‘symptoms’ in favour of a far more reasonable explanation? Not that he was going to share the details of that conclusion however…)
At the very least, Zoro was able to dissuade the whole ordeal in the end. (Even if said actions were more than he had apparently observed…)
Bepo, too, seemed surprised at it, but then again he had not shown such behaviour to anybody else but the bear, so that was understandable. But, what surprised Bepo (and his entire crew actually) the most was the fact that when Law had escaped the grasps of the tiny doctor he had brought Luffy along with him. Especially considering that Law was allowing Luffy to sit against him while he relaxed against Bepo.
(Sure, yeah, he didn’t ask Bepo’s permission, but considering the things he said earlier to Chopper…)
But, it just… it didn’t feel right without Luffy. That contact. (And, yes, he had missed it.)
And his crew’s surprise really wasn’t all that unusual, considering that the moment Law had settled himself against Bepo was the universal sign of ‘leave the captain alone.’ Most of the time, it was because he wanted some sleep, but right now? Right now he wanted some peace and quiet because he didn’t have a damn concussion and he just…
“He’s comfy Torao!”
Law looked up to see Luffy practically snuggling Bepo, and it lit something in him he didn’t really enjoy feeling. “I can see why you like to sleep on and cuddle with him!”
Law grit his teeth, feeling even more irritated right now. “It’s not–” He hissed out in an attempt to soothe whatever it was that was growing within him, and to dissuade the whole cuddling issue.
But then, of course Luffy just moved himself, almost flopping on top of him and interrupted him yet again. “But Torao’s comfier!”
At those words, that irritation died down and Law felt a smile coming to his lips as he stared at the younger captain. Comfier huh? He could live with that.
(So was Luffy.)
.xxx.
To say he was irritated… yeah. Trafalgar Law most definitely was irritated.
He was having what was probably the most peaceful, pleasant sleep in his life before Bepo had just… catapulted them off of him for God knows what reason. There was screeching laughter off to the side (his crew, and probably Luffy’s too) and he was laying uncomfortably on top of Luffy.
(That wasn’t to say Luffy was uncomfortable. No, it was his positioning. He wasn’t made of rubber like the other captain was.)
That being said, the only blessing to any of this was that he was on top of Luffy and could see that damn adorable, sleepy expression up close and personal….
…Of course that had to be ruined and short-lived too because of some damn samurai going missing and…
Oh. Shit. The samurai…
Law groaned and sat up, most definitely annoyed at the turn of events. He just couldn’t enjoy himself, could he? He then wandered over to where his belongings had flown from Bepo’s impromptu jumping into action, picking them up.
The Strawhats had already started rushing off to find the samurais, while his own crew just stared curiously at him as he grabbed Nodachi.
Law sighed and stood up. “We are allies, are we not?” He then straightened out his clothes before following the Strawhats. “We need to be together through thick and thin, so go help and look for the samurais you idiots. This is what they look like…”
Hopefully they could find them before a fight breaks out…
.xxx.
Of course, as soon as the opportunity arose, Luffy was at his side one more. Currently, he was talking about what had just transpired: how amazing and great it was that the Samurais and the Minks were friends and that they didn’t have to fight these nice people.
And Law? He could only nod and agree. “Yes Mugi- Luffy-ya.” And while he had slipped, Luffy’s expression was still beaming up at him. (Probably because he had quickly corrected himself.) “This country is in enough despair as it is.” The war against Kaido’s men had taken much from them and to fight yet another battle over their presence… Well, Law wouldn’t blame them but it was pointless.
(But then again, weren’t all wars pointless?)
Seeing Luffy’s smile, however, shook him from his darker thoughts.
“And a ninja Torao! A ninja!” Luffy was just this exuberant ball of sunshine, wasn’t he? It made him smile slightly as Luffy went off on his tangents again over a ninja. Finally, Luffy had exhausted his current imaginations when he looked up at Law with those curious, dark, innocent eyes. “Is there anything about the ninja that interests you?”
Law let a soft sound that resembled a chuckle leave him. “There is a rumoured technique involving cloning that is interesting enough, I suppose.”
He felt Luffy wrap an arm around him, chuckling all the while with that damn adorable expression beaming up at him.
.xxx.
Luffy was whining. Whining as they made their journey to where the ninja was hidden. Whining and tugging at his shirt and a pout in his eyes and on his face.
Law could only sigh. “…What is it Luffy-ya?”
“Toraooooo…”
… Could that idiot not whine his name?
And so he just stared at his partner, awaiting an answer to his question that he had yet to receive.
“Please Torao…”
More whining…. Honestly, Law wasn’t too certain what to think about it. Especially when Luffy whined his name for a third time. “…What do you want Luffy-ya?” He groaned out. He hated repeating himself.
“I know you said… but I wanna….”
…Okay, seriously, just what was this idiot blabbing on about? They were walking in a forest and then Luffy just started whining.
“…Maybe we could slow down?” Luffy suggested, still going on about whatever it was that he wanted. “And go behind a tree or something… and catch up after?” The latter words were said hastily and in a hushed tone.
Law sighed and rubbed the bridge of his nose. So he tugged Luffy’s ear, using enough haki to ensure that it was Luffy’s neck that stretched upward and not just the ear, or the ear and some assortment of his face next to his lips.
“You need to explain Luffy-ya. I don’t know what you are referring to.”
“Um... but you said!” Ugh, more pouting and whining! “I’m not supposed to talk about it.”
…Oh. Oh. Now he understood. That’s what Luffy wanted. He tried to mask his outward reaction by sighing. “Be patient Luffy-ya.” Of course this was going to happen… “Right now it would be far too suspicious.” He tilted his head as he pondered the potential opportunities. “Perhaps after we get there? You’re the one who is most excited to see this ninja and if you vanished from sight… well people would wonder.”
And that they would. The would wonder just what was more exciting than the current thing that Luffy had fixated himself on.
(His damn boyfriend wanted to kiss him, that’s what.)
Goodness, couldn’t the boy have picked a more opportune time?
(Of course he couldn’t. This was fucking Mugiwara no Luffy for crying out loud.)
“Just wait Luffy-ya.”
He only received more whines as a response.
…Just what was he going to do with this idiot?
.xxx.
After numerous whines and pouts that Law had given up on counting, he was able to drag Luffy away. (In very little sense of the word. It looked like it was contagious…)
Of course, they had to climb the tree and descent it from within, observe the ninja in action and hear a tale or two before they could even attempt but… the moment they were shooed outside…
(Well Law was surprised that it hadn’t been Luffy to drag him away. In all literal senses of the word.)
He supposed that Luffy trusted that Law wouldn’t go back on his word.
As those from the Wano Kingdom sobbed over the state of their allied country, Law could feel those hands tugging at him. Law did sigh, but at the same time he could feel the corners of his lips curling slightly. And so, he summoned a Room before he switched them with a few leaves that were atop the tree.
“Truth be told, I’m surprised you lasted this long.” He teased when they arrived there.
And Luffy? Well he practically toppled Law over.
“Well, Torao said only I can see him like this!” Luffy replied with a grin on his face, rubbing his face against Law’s neck affectionately.
The laughter bubbled from his lips and Law ruffled Luffy’s hair. He enjoyed seeing Luffy act like this towards him. And, hey, Luffy was being considerate! That certainly was something indeed. “I’m glad you waited Luffy-ya.”
He really was happy, by gods he was happy!
Isn’t this great? Cheer up Law! You’re going to live!
Be happy! This is the devil fruit that is gunna save your life!
As Law remembered those words, he smiled. He smiled and looked down towards Luffy, gaze catching those mesmerising dark eyes.
Quiet. It was quiet as they stared at one another. Of course, it didn’t last overlong, as it was Luffy who broke it with a soft “Can I…?”
As an answer, Law just leaned in, pressing his lips against Luffy’s. He knew, he knew what Luffy wanted, and he would gladly give it to him. And he revelled in the sensations it stirred within him: Warmth, comfort, acceptance, affection. But most of all: happiness.
He always had such a difficulty finding it – even if momentary. And now? Now it was just overwhelming as he would just look in Luffy’s direction. As he would see the smiles aimed towards him. As he saw that warmth in those dark eyes. As he heard the music of his laughter. As he thought about him. As he kissed him.
Trafalgar D. Water Law was ridiculously happy.
Law pulled away, smiling down at Luffy and caressed his cheek. Seriously… who would’ve thought…?
And Luffy? He was laughing again, those dark eyes sparkling. “Torao, I thought I told you to stop thinking.”
“I-I…” That damn idiot! “I wasn’t – I mean I was but – It was about you…okay?”
He wasn’t blushing! He wasn’t!
“Shishishi,” Luffy was still laughing and his hands came up to hold Law’s cheeks. “I guess I can forgive you. You look so happy after all!” Those hands gently tilted his gaze back towards Luffy’s.
…What?
However, he didn’t have much time to think on whatever nonsense that idiot was on about now. (Not to mention Luffy would have just told him to stop thinking again…) For Luffy had pulled him down for another kiss, those hands wrapping around his neck as the idiot pressed more against him.
Decidedly, Law just ceased thinking and his hands moved up – gripping on Luffy’s shirt, tugging him closer. More his mind told him once again, just as it had the first time Luffy had kissed him.
A hand reached up into his hair, gripping there, the other hand turning into an arm to pull him closer. Closer.
And his hand tugged more, one slipping behind Luffy’s waist, pulling.
Closer. Closer.
(He didn’t blame Luffy. Not one bit. Nor did he discourage it.)
“Lu-ooooohh….”
The reaction was immediate as Law felt his body tense at the sound of that voice.
Zoro…
It was Luffy however that pulled away, his neck stretching towards where they had been prior to their ‘escapade’ before pulling back. Laughter left him. “…Ooops…”
Oops is fucking right…
Law groaned, placing a hand on his face – but he couldn’t place the blame wholly on Luffy either. No, he had been quite the willing participant in this scenario after all…
“Don’t worry Torao.” Luffy flashed him a grin. “He’s looking away now, shishishi.”
…That wasn’t the fucking point Luffy!
Another groan left him and he shook his head. He was mortified. Absolutely fucking mortified. Why? Why? Of all the people to discover it, it had to be Zoro. And, of all times, it had to be now…
“Don’t worry about it Torao!” Luffy insisted, still chuckling. He removed Law’s hand from his head before stretching and pecking him on the lips. “Zoro’s understanding.”
But also violent and protective… Law sighed. “I do hope you haven’t forgotten that he punched me last night Luffy-ya. My eye certainly hasn’t.”
“It’ll be fine!” He dismissed. “Besides, it wasn’t like you were doing it then.”
…He supposed but… Law could only sigh as he shook his head. Luffy was too fucking carefree dammit. He fixed his hat, as it had moved when Luffy had his hand in his hair… “Very well,” he compromised, “but if your swordsman tries to murder me in my sleep…”
“Don’t worry! He knows not to hurt you anymore Torao!”
(…Oh yeah. That squeeze definitely was a threat then.)
“Shambles.”
“Oi!” Luffy called out, running towards Zoro as they warped back to the entrance. “Zoro, is Robin done now?”
And, of course Luffy was the only one not to read the awkward, stiff air between them. That, or he just didn’t care. (Both were highly likely.) And, when Zoro gave a tense nod, Luffy ran down the stairs cheerfully.
Law, however, was more focused on observing Zoro. What was the man going to do? Threaten him some more? Or go against his captain’s indirect orders and…. He couldn’t read anything from the man, not with the tense way he held himself. But, at the very least, it seemed he wasn’t going to make the first move. Very well then…
“…I would appreciate silence on this topic…”
He knew his voice was stiff. Yet, at the same, this… this needed to be said. Law wasn’t comfortable with others knowing about his personal life, especially considering how new this was to him. Perhaps later, it could become something more known about, but not right now. Not when he was still becoming accustomed to, and comfortable with, this.
“…What topic?”
At those words, Law sighed as he felt that awkward tension fade away. Good. This didn’t have to be awkward. A soft sound left him. But, he had no doubts – even though Zoro was pretending it never occurred – about it… He knew… He knew.
And, so, that was why when Zoro had gripped at his good arm (which he was grateful for, in all honesty) he had been expecting it. A silent warning, just as Luffy had given him. The last thing Zoro wanted after all was for his captain to be hurt, or sad, or torn or…
(Law had to admit, he felt the exact same. It hurt… it hurt just remembering the expressions on Luffy’s face when he told him he planned to die…)
It was the last thing he ever intended on doing. Hurting Luffy… it would do things to him that he didn’t want to imagine. Seeing that sunshine fading into darkness…. Seeing those smiles disappear… that laughter muted… those dark eyes cold..
Luffy was the man who saved his life and made him empathetic and hope and smile again. Luffy was the man who made him feel again. (Feel conscious of his own actions. Feel comfortable around another. Feel wanted and important and cared for.)
Luffy was the man who made him want to live again.
And if he caused that man sorrow….
“Don’t worry Zoro-ya. If there’s anything left of me after I’m through with me, you’ve got first dibs.” Because, Law didn’t think he could live with himself if that ever happened. He owed Luffy so much and to repay that with unkindness… “I’m not about to harm the man who gave me a reason to hope. A reason to live.”
With that said, he removed Zoro’s hand from his arm, readjusting Kikoku before heading down the stairs to follow Luffy.
To follow the reason Trafalgar Law had to live.

Author’s note: I was bored.
KidLaw/LawKid prompt.
Title says it all.
@a-redharlequin  @cucuxumusu and the rest of the Kidlaw chat +18
Eye candy means an attractive person
It simply started when he got laid last friday night with a young lady. An great eye candy and a pretty great lay. He had to ask for her number which she gave without second thoughts and left without a word. Kid noted a bit of limping as she left while staring at her ass. The rest of his Saturday was normal as it could be as he had to work with few papers for the company, he was working with as a assistant executive of his sarcastic, demanding, snobby little shitty boss named Trafalgar Law.
Law was the youngest company head of the Shichibukai group merged together and benefited to each other’s company. Law rose his company for scoring a 100 billion business deal with the government that automatically granted his riches beyond Kid’s dreams. He didn’t know how such man could make so much money with an age of 26. But even though, his boss was gifted with everything that anyone would be jealous of from looks to money, Law had a terrible personality and trust issues. When he got hired, Kid didn’t know how he deserve the job at all. He was a delinquent, bad grades, crappy college but he had skills on the field, the only thing that gave him courage to try his luck and apply. Not knowing, he would even get accepted three days after his interview.
His thoughts were interrupted with a phone call. Kid looked at his phone and the screen reads, Killer He quickly picked it up and answered.
“Busy.” He spats, knowing Killer would try to lecture him from his actions last night. He didn’t get that eye candy to his bed without any competition, that he quickly dealt with.
“Someone’s being pissy.” Killer spats back. “Just checking up on you if that eye candy you took home last night, didn’t murdered you. But hearing you being pissy means she either walked out on you or you fucked up and vomited on her.”
“That was fucking college days, Killer. Stop bringing up that shit.”
“It’s hilarious.”
“Oh, fuck you too.” Kid snarls. “She goes home limping and a number on my phone. I bet you didn’t think I’m capable of that.”
“Oh?” Kid could hear that sarcastic tone of Killer’s voice clear as the day. “I bet you can’t get her laid with you twice.”
That sent Kid on the edge. “Excuse me?”
“I know, you heard me right.” Killer scoffed. “I bet a thousand bucks you can’t get laid with her again.”
“A thousand bucks?! Since when were you this bloody rich, you bastard?!” Kid screamed, bolting off his seat. He kicked his chair down in frustration. There’s no way, Killer would do it. He’s bluffing. He definitely was.
He heard Killer chuckled, pouring gas to his head “If you do get her on your bed, I’ll pay a thousand bucks and you get to drive my bike for a week.”
Kid gulped, imagining himself riding, Killer’s rare edition motorcycle's that he’s been dreaming to steal away but Killer somewhat installed so much security bullshit on his own home it was next to impossible to even touch the said bike.
“What if I can’t get her then what? I’m not as rich as you, bastard.”
“I’ll set you up to date Lola.”
Kid’s eyes widened in despair. ‘You won’t dare, you fuckin bastard!”
“Try me.”
Kid clicked his tongue, weighing his pro and cons but found a quick thousand bucks and getting laid twice in the weekend was heavier than dating Lola, knowing the eye candy, he took home gave her number. A great advantage it was.
“Deal.”
“You got till the end of the weekend. Good luck~!” Killer mused, happily as he dropped the call..
As the Killer dropped the call, Kid realized his mistake. Never in his short life, Kid had gotten laid twice with the same person ever. It was his cocky ass pride that shoved himself into this. If only, his voice of reason existed in the first place. If only it bloody did.
He walked around this apartment, thinking what he could do if he ever wants the girl back but found not a clue how to do so. He grabbed his phone and texted Zoro. Another assistant of a top executive in the Shichibukai group and the only man, he could stand among the 7 others, he hated working with. Zoro was known to be stoic yet behind all that terrible personality and bad sense of direction, he was the only one Kid knew that get laid frequently like Killer.
Dude, how do you get laid twice with the same person in the same weekend?  Kid quickly texted and waited anxiously in his sofa. Completely forgetting about the paperwork, he supposed to finish this evening.
I’m not a sex god, Kid. Zoro replied.
Help a brother here.  Any ideas?
Nope.
Come on, bastard. I’ll buy you a sake if I win this bet.
Fine. Send a dick pic or something. You owe me.
K. Would that work?
Pray it does. Worked on my side.
Kid ruffled his red hair, frustrated. He have never done this before and never know if it ever works. Does it ever even work now?
Kid looked at his phone book looking for the girl’s name, he vaguely remembered. He ran towards the bathroom, striped of all his clothing and snap a quick photo. He didn’t even looked at it twice and send the said photo without hesitation. If he did, he’ll never get laid this sunday if ever that happens.
Kid took a quick bath and waited, anxiously but a reply never came that night. Kid fell asleep while he waited for a single text from the girl.
Sunday Morning
Eustass Kid was the biggest idiot that have lived in this solar system. He didn’t deserve to live this shame, he just have commited. It was a disaster and even an existence of a black hole in front of him would not help him recover of this shameful act, he have committed.
He stared at the photo, eyes widened as it could be. He throat felt tight, he couldn’t breath. He wanted to die on the spot now and then. To end this suffering, shame and all that cocktail mix of this feeling inside of his stomach.
The girl didn’t leave her number on his phone but changed a name in one of his contacts. Which would be Trafalgar Law’s number. His boss. His boss of all the person, that she could change it was him. It had to be him.
Kid looked at Law’s picture message. He was in the office, working on papers piled in his side. His hair was in different directions, his eyes looked he didn’t sleep a wink and his middle finger was raised. He looked at Kid, with a little smirk in the end of his lips.
Oh my god. He’ll fire me. Kid thought. Dying inside.
That whole day, Kid never had a courage to reply his boss but mentally preparing himself for monday morning. A day, Kid will never look forward to.
Kid was fucked. He was totally fucked. Killer laughed his ass off after knowing Kid accidentally sent the message to his boss. Zoro on the other hand didn’t made a single comment on the whole ordeal, as he knew himself what kind of person, Kid’s boss is.
Kid rested his knuckles on Law’s mahogany wood door. It was already night,  Law asked him to come to his office. Pretty sure, Law wanted to save a bit of Kid’s pride by firing him privately in his office by night when no one else was around. Kid swore he’ll never send those types of messages ever again in his life and never say deal every time, Killer hands him a bet that he’ll lose on. Setting up a date in Lola was long buried in his mind. Kid would make sure, after the talk with his boss, he’ll move into south blue where he’ll spend his days as a senile old man, never once again laid after.
This shameful thing will be buried deep in the world and never once again be spoke again. Ever.
Kid took a deep breath before knocking on Law’s door.
“Come in.” He heard, Law ordered and Kid did. He slowly opened the door but surprised with office.
He have been in the office a handful of times only, rarely Law invites anyone his office. It was always on the meeting room, function hall or what not but never once, Kid remembered Law’s office was this...romantic looking.
There were scented candles in every corner of the room, a huge red sofa was in the middle of the office where Law sat down, legs crossed and looking at him rather unusual. A bit off of his character.
Law had a bottle of wine in his hand, popping the cap off and pouring in his wine glass. Kid noticed there was two wine glasses in the coffee table. Thinking, it might be Law’s way of burning him down, degrading him till he was dust before sending him off his way.
“Do you know why I called you here, Mr. Eustass?” Law asked him a question. Kid only gulped, mentally preparing himself of the stupid speech that he have been practicing since sunday afternoon.
“Because I accidentally sent you a dick pic.” Kid replied, his stomach clutched like a rope inside.
Law stops pouring wine on the second glass and looked at him, with wide eyes. “Accidentally?”
Kid looked at Law, eyebrows raised. “I was supposed to send that to this girl I me-” Kid stopped as he noticed Law’s hand on his mouth. Murmuring something that was loud enough for Kid’s ears.
‘I thought that was for me…” Law looked like he was about to cry. The Trafalgar Law who was known to be ruthless in business, who fires anyone he deemed unworthy and weak, the same man that he hated was on the verge of tears over a fucking dick pic, he accidentally sent.
“You thought, it was for you?” Kid shouted in disbelieved. He slapped his mouth with his hand, shutting him up.
“Uhm, yes? You sent it on my number. I assumed it was for me!” Law said, crossing his arms.
“Why would you assume it was for you?” Kid shouted back, clutching his hair. This was not what he imagined it would go.
“You’ve been sending me this weird signals that bastard flamingo noticed and I like you since the start. I mean, your personality is terrible bu-” Law said rather in casual manner but stopped halfway as Kid fell in his knees.
“W-w-w-w-w-what? You’ve liked me!?” Kid’s mind was stuttering at this point, unable to comprehend what level he was dealing with.
Law raised an eyebrow. “Yes, I’ve been sending you signals but you’re rather denser that I thought you’d be. Now, you’ve sent me that….photo. I was rather ecstatic you’ve now noticed after months being with you.”
“W-w-w-!?” Kid couldn’t talk straight at all. Law simply stood in his seat, stood in front of him and knelt in front of him. His long tattooed fingers brushed on his lips.
“Shall we make this night a bit more special, Mr. Eustass-ya?”
End.

CHAPTER IV
“Luffy.” – Zoro
“Your cat tried to eat my computer cable, again.” – Zoro
“It's so big how can it even want to eat something more?!” – Zoro
“Do you even give food to it for it to behave like that?! Is it naturally big or??” – Zoro
“Oh God.” – Zoro
“It tried to damage my stuff again that motherfucker” – Zoro
[…]
“Luffy.” – Zoro
“It peed on my clothes, again.” – Zoro
“This is the third time this week, and we're only tuesday, Luffy!” – Zoro
[…]
“LUFFY.” – Zoro
“IT PREVENTED ME FROM SLEEPING TWICE IN LESS THAN TEN MINUTES.” – Zoro
“THAT'S IT.” – Zoro
“I don't want it anymore in this flat.” – Zoro
“If you don't give it away, I will.” – Zoro
[…]
“WAIT NO! Don't throw him out! Zoro!” – Luffy
“Oh yeah? Why not?” – Zoro
“We already had the same story with the old dog, the rats and the parrot, we'll just repeat it again.” – Zoro
“You actually liked them!” – Luffy
“Yeah, well they were still annoying. Bulky.” – Zoro
“I don't believe you” – Luffy
“Thing is, I don't like this cat.” – Zoro
“Meatloaf is perfectly fine, and you'll get used to each other. You don't throw people out because they annoy you! Just tell him not to do it again and he'll understand.” – Luffy
“You realize it's not a person, right?” – Zoro
“I value Meatloaf as much as anybody else!” – Luffy
“Plus, it's not his fault if he started eating your stuff! He's hungry! You'd do the same if you were! And you sleep all the time, of course he'll wake you up at some point!” – Luffy
[...]
“Sanji agrees with me and said you were lazier than a cat.” – Luffy
“Fuck the cook he doesn't know shit about that stuff.” – Zoro
[...]
“Are you kidding me, this cat isn't well educated that's all. And there's no cat food anywhere?? -And what about the pee?” – Zoro
“Where's the litter??” – Zoro
[…]
“I forgot.” – Luffy
“...” – Zoro
“Okay.” – Zoro
“I'm throwing it out.” – Zoro
“DON'T!” – Luffy
“If you do I swear I will never talk to you ever again.” – Luffy
“You're not even able to take care of it, Luffy!” – Zoro
“I will! Sanji says he's gonna help. He loves cats.” – Luffy
“The ero-cook doesn't live with us! He's nothing to do with that!” – Zoro
“Give Meatloaf a month. You'll get to like him.” – Luffy
“It's not only me. It hates me too.” – Zoro
“Nonsense!” – Luffy
[…]
“But if nothing has changed, Meatloaf's out right?” – Zoro
“I have your word?” – Zoro
[…]
“Yes.” – Luffy
“Deal.” – Zoro
“But I'm calling it 'Nuisance' from now on.” – Zoro
“You did it only to bother me, didn't you?” – Zoro
“Yes.” – Sanji
“Bastard” – Zoro
“Screw you, curly brow.” – Zoro
“Anytime you want, Moss-for-Brain.” – Sanji
“Luffy?” – Usopp
“Yeah?” – Luffy
“I was wondering...” – Usopp
“About that Tra-guy you talked to me about and all” – Usopp
“What if he was some kind of a serial killer creep?” – Usopp
“A serial killer?” – Luffy
“Yeah! Look- how many times did it happen? The nurse was the killer, the detective was guilty of everything... Dexter, The Mentalist- aren't all those shows about it?” – Usopp
“You think Torao's a serial killer because he's a doctor?” – Luffy
“Basically, it could be a possibility, yes.” – Usopp
“Okay I'm gonna ask him!” – Luffy
“What?! No don't ask you really think he's gonna be honest?? AND what if it's true?! He might come for us to keep his secret! For himself! Himself- alone!” – Usopp
“But everything you said are suppositions right?” – Luffy
“Yeah?” – Usopp
“Let's just get a confirmation to it already then!” – Luffy
“Don't! Luffy! Really-!” – Usopp
“Luffy!!” – Usopp
[...]
“You're really asking him aren't you?” – Usopp
“I should have known better” – Usopp
[...]
“Next boat to Antarctica doesn't look too expensive.” – Usopp
“Have you ever killed someone before?” – Luffy
“No” – Torao
“Why not?” – Luffy
“My job is basically to save lives, Luffy-ya. Why the question?” – Torao
“Yeah but that could be your cover! The best murderers are acting from the inside, and no one ever suspects them!” – Luffy
“Stop watching TV” – Torao
“Or stop believing everything Usopp tells you” – Torao
“How did you know it was Usopp??” – Luffy
“Because of, hm, the fact that you're always telling me everything your life perhaps?” – Torao
“Shishishishishi I keep forgetting.” – Luffy
[…]
“But tho, have you?” – Luffy
“What?” – Torao
“Killed someone” – Luffy
“For God's sake. No.” – Torao
“Okay! :D” – Luffy
“And you believe me?” – Torao
“Of course, why?” – Luffy
“I could lie.” – Torao
“Are you?” – Luffy
“Nope.” – Torao
“Then why trying to confuse me and create problems when everything's ok? ٩(•̤̀ᵕ•̤́๑)૭✧ ” – Luffy
“You're really-” – Torao
“What?” – Luffy
“Nothing.” – Torao
“[Picture MMS]” – Luffy
“See? Torao's a nice guy!” – Luffy
[…]
“I'm not convinced.” – Usopp
“If you don't trust him, trust me! (^◡^)/” – Luffy
“If you say so...” – Usopp
“By the way, Chopper bought a new game and asked us to come over to help him figure out how it works :D” – Luffy
“I'M ON MY WAY!” – Usopp
“Haven't you noticed anything?” – Nami
“You must add more details to this question, if you want me to answer properly Nami-san” – Robin
“I meant, about Zoro and Sanji. Don't you think something changed, between them?” – Nami
“Indeed, I noticed that.” – Robin
“You did?” – Nami
“Yes. They probably made out, but are too proud to tell us. So we'll just wait for them to tell us when they will feel ready.” – Robin
“What?!? You knew??” – Nami
“This is quite obvious.” – Robin
“But Sanji didn't say anything when I asked him about that evening!” – Nami
“Try not to beat them up, it took them time.” – Robin
“Exactly! And patience! And those bastards didn't even tell us!!” – Nami
“You know how they are” – Robin
“I will make them regret this.” – Nami
“May I ask why you are so invested in their relationship, Nami-san?” – Robin
“I made a bet with Usopp. He owes me.” – Nami
“[Picture MMS]” – Nami
“I won the bet.” – Nami
“A-Absolutely not! Those are just hypothesis!” – Usopp
“How dare you?” – Nami
“I won't believe it until they show or tell me themselves they are in a relationship.” – Usopp
“You...” – Nami
“Alright. You will eventually understand I was right it, and pay me what you owe me!” – Nami
“We'll see about that!” – Usopp
“(≧∇≦)/” – Luffy
“(つ◉益◉)つ” – Luffy
“ᕦ⊙෴⊙ᕤ” – Luffy
“ᕙ(▀̿̿Ĺ̯̿̿▀̿ ) ᕗ” – Luffy
“...” – Torao
“You discovered how to create emoticons, didn't you” – Torao
“Yeah! ╰(✧∇✧╰) That's super fun!” – Luffy
“Am I... the victim on whom you decided to test them all?” – Torao
“Maybe 「(゚ペ)” – Luffy
“Please stop” – Torao
“Why, you don't like it? C'mon Torao! It's way too fun! (。•̀ᴗ-)✧” – Luffy
“I'd rather have your babbling about how bored you are than that.” – Torao
“(ง ʘ ʖ ʘ)ง" – Luffy
“If you don't stop I will most definitely block you, Luffy-ya.” – Torao
“You wouldn't!” – Luffy
“I'm very serious” – Torao
“Just because of smileys?!” – Luffy
“They are annoying.” – Torao
“You're no fun.” – Luffy
[…]
“You did say you liked better my messages when I'm bored though!” – Luffy
“I... did say that.” – Torao
“What about you just send me one emoticon too and we're even? I'll stop harassing you with them. I promise.” – Luffy
“An emoticon?” – Torao
“Yeah!” – Luffy
“Only one?” – Torao
“And you'll stop?” – Torao
“Yeah!” – Luffy
“But do not choose a common one!” – Luffy
“...” – Torao
“੧| ‾́ー ‾́ |੭" – Torao
“Shishishi you actually did it!” – Luffy
“Yeah” – Torao
“Shishishi~” – Luffy
“Boss.” – Shachi
“Boss?” – Shachi
“Law?” – Bepo
“Yeah?” – Law
“Are you ready to go?” – Bepo
“Go?” – Law
“Next appointment...” – Bepo
“Right.” – Law
“Why are you texting me? You're like, on the very next room.” – Law
“You didn't answer when Penguin called you so we sent you texts, as you spent a lot of time on your phone lately” – Bepo
“What's so interesting with it by the way? A new technique you've found on the internet, or some surgery book online?” – Bepo
“Yeah, kinda.” – Law
“Kinda?” – Bepo
“Don't worry about that. And I'm not deaf, next time just come in.” – Law
“Come in? Well, Penguin did come in” – Bepo
“And?” – Law
“You didn't notice his presence.” – Bepo
“He didn't say anything.” – Law
“Usually, you do notice people.” – Bepo
“I was concentrated.” – Law
“On surgery?” – Bepo
“[Picture MMS]” – Bepo
“What's that supposed to mean?” – Law
“You were so focused you didn't notice him taking a picture of you, and I'm surprised to see such an expression on your face while working on surgery...” – Bepo
“Get to the point” – Law
“Penguin and Shachi told me you met someone online! Why didn't you say anything?!” – Bepo
“Why, is this important?” – Law
“It is! I barely see you taking interest in anyone, this is super-rare!” – Bepo
“Do we have to talk about it now? I believe we have an appointment in five minutes.” – Law
“I'm coming.” – Law
“Nice way of changing subject..." – Bepo
"Oh shit we're really late!" - Bepo
“[Picture MMS]” – Luffy
“Is that a cat?” – Torao
“Yeah, he's mine! His name is Meatloaf!” – Luffy
“Let me guess; you chose the name” – Torao
“Yeah! You know me so well Torao!” – Luffy
“How old is he? He looks bad” – Torao
“No idea, I found him on the street on my way home. He was dirty and hungry and he followed me so I just took him.” – Luffy
[…]
“[Picture MMS]” – Luffy
“Is he... sitting on your roommate's face?” – Torao
“For some reason, he likes to do that. Maybe it's because of Zoro's hair colour? I have no idea why he acts like that but he likes Zoro's face.” – Luffy
“... Is that a normal thing according to you?” – Torao
“I don't know? Everyone's different? Sanji took pictures last time. It was hilarious! This cat really is awesome!” – Luffy
“Though I named him Meatloaf, Zoro's calling him Nuisance...” – Luffy
“Sure, especially if the cat's trying to choke him during his sleep using his weight, wonder why.” – Torao
“I'm pretty sure they'll eventually get along.” – Luffy
“People say it's good to have hopes.” – Torao
“But in spite of your unbreakable faith I am doubtful.” – Torao
“You'll see I'm right!” – Luffy
[...]
“Shit” – Luffy
“He's meowing for food I forgot to buy him some” – Luffy
“What are cats allowed to eat?” – Luffy
[...]
“I'm a doctor, Luffy-ya, not a veterinarian.” – Torao
“I'll just give him what I have.” – Luffy
“[Picture MMS]” – Luffy
[…]
“You didn't actually give that to him, did you?” – Torao
“That's all I have!” – Luffy
“Luffy-ya, please don't feed Meatloaf the purple carrot” – Torao
“How on Earth do you manage to have vegetables with this colour?” – Torao
“I don't know” – Luffy
“I just don't really pay attention to them in the fridge so I guess I forget about them.” – Luffy
“And since Zoro often goes out lately” – Luffy
[…]
“I think Meatloaf actually likes it.” – Luffy
[…]
“I told you not to give it to him” – Torao
“I do what I want!” – Luffy
[…]
“You can be so childish sometimes” – Torao
“If you want to poison him that's the good way to go” – Torao
“He's fine!” – Luffy
“Of course he is” – Torao
“I'm off to sleep, good night!” – Luffy
“Try to sleep too!” – Luffy
[…]
“Good night” – Torao
“So, how's it going with your new friend?” – Bepo
“Still vexed I didn't tell you about it?” – Law
“And he's not my friend” – Law
“You told Shachi and Penguin!” – Bepo
“I didn't. They stole my phone.” – Law
“I should have done that too...” – Bepo
“There's a password now.” – Law
“And you don't trust us anymore! I'm hurt” – Bepo
“You just said you wished you'd stolen my phone” – Law
[…]
“Ok, but what are you talking about?” – Bepo
“Nothing.” – Law
“Nothing? How can you exchange so much without saying nothing?” – Bepo
“We don't communicate that much.” – Law
“Are you kidding me? Answering other people than your colleagues is a big deal for you.” – Bepo
“If you say so” – Law
“Yeah!” – Bepo
[…]
“But really, what are you talking about? I'm curious now” – Bepo
[…]
“Law?” – Bepo
[…]
“He sends me emoticons, and talks about food.” – Law
“Really? What kind of emoticons? Don't you hate those, tho?” – Bepo
“[Picture MMS]” – Law
“Omg this one (ง ʘ ʖ ʘ)ง looks just like you when you're about to start a surgery! Look, I can almost see the dark circles under its eyes.” – Bepo
[…]
“I was kidding, Law!” – Bepo
“Are you really going to ignore me now?” – Bepo
[…]
“Are you sure that's one of your conversations though?” – Bepo
“I mean... 'I'd rather have your babbling about how bored you are than that.' that's not like you” – Bepo
“Is it?” – Bepo
“Damnit” – Bepo
[…]
“Don't tell me you don't at least appreciate him!” – Bepo
[…]
“You know you can't block me right? We need to contact each other anytime because of our job!” – Bepo
[…]
“I thought we were best friends...” – Bepo
“Or at least friends!” – Bepo
“:'(“ – Bepo
“If I reply you'll stop harassing me?” – Law
“Law! You're not mad at me?” – Bepo
“I'm not. But just stop talking about him” – Law
“Understood.” – Bepo
[…]
“Still, you like him don't you?” – Bepo
“Bepo” – Law
“Yeah right sorry!” – Bepo
[Group conversation]:
“You were right, I can't believe it.” – Bepo
“Told you so!” – Shachi
“Yeah” – Penguin
“I've never seen him like that!” – Bepo
“I can't believe it.” – Bepo
“You already said that.” – Penguin
“I can't believe it.” – Bepo
“Again.” – Penguin
“No but” – Bepo
“I think he can't believe it.” – Shachi
“Oh my god you two” – Penguin
[...]
“What if he's been replaced by someone else, looking just like our boss?” – Bepo
“Would have noticed it, wouldn't we?” – Penguin
“Yeah I'm noticing it now!” – Bepo
[...]
“Do you think they met?” – Shachi
“...” – Penguin
“...” – Bepo
[…]
“We can't ask him can we” – Shachi
“Definitely not” – Bepo
“But we have his number” – Penguin
“We do?” – Bepo
“We do.” – Shachi
