Nohkalikai Falls, India
There is a depressing story behind the name of the waterfall “Noh Ka Likai” the local call it meaning “the leap of Likai” the story goes that a woman named Ka Likai had a daughter from an earlier marriage. Having married a second time her husband loathed his step-daughter. One day after a long day working in the fields she returned home to be surprised by her husband who prepared the evening meal and serving her without suspicion she ate the meal. She later discovered her daughters fingers in the beetlenut basket, distraught with grief and shock she rushed to the nearby cliffs and threw herself over tge precipice adjoining the waterfalls since then the waterfall has always been known as Nohkalikai. Truly a land of breath taking beauty and exotic culture.

No it’s kool aid
Just like my hair

#1476 - Argina astrea - Crotalaria Podborer
Photo by Geoff Beetlenut, in Mackay, Queensland.
Despite the common name, the caterpillars are found on Beaumontia (APOCYNACEAE ), Peter's Fig ( Ficus petersii, MORACEAE ), Lathberry ( Eugenia cordata, MYRTACEAE ), and Mickey Mouse Bush ( Ochna serrulata, OCHNACEAE ) as well as Crotalaria. In the case of the last foodplant, at least, they start on the foliage, then switch to the flowers and seeds.
It’s native to Africa, most of Asia, and the warmer parts of Australia.

Oral Cancer - Causes, Symptoms and Treatments
Oral cancer is generally described as cancer of head and neck. It can affect any part of the mouth like tongue, cheeks, lips, hard palate, soft palate, floor of the tongue, internal lining of the cheeks, gums, lymph nodes etc. the most common form of oral cancer is squamous cell carcinoma which affects the flat skin like lining of the mouth. 90% mouth cancer patients have been detected with this form of mouth cancer.
There are other types of oral cancers affecting different areas of the mouth like the salivary gland cancer affecting the saliva producing gland, lymphoma which is caused in lymph around the tonsils and base of tongue and melanoma affecting the skin pigmentation cells around the mouth and lips.
Causes:
The causes of skin cancer are many and can't be restricted to anything in particular. Few major causes of oral tumor are smoking (cigarettes, pipe, hand rolled cigarettes like bidis or the one containing canabis) , alcohol, chewing of tobacco, beetlenut, gutka or pan, UV rays from sun which affects lips or pale skin and at times previous cancer which might reoccur. Other probable causes are poor dietary habits lacking essentially zinc, vitamin A, C, E, selenium .infection from HPV (human papilloma virus) which generally infects vulva, vagina and cervix.
Symptom:
The symptoms for oral cancer are very general which might sometimes turn out to be some other disease but nevertheless it is better to go to a dentist or a general physician or ENT specialist to rule out any possibility. The few visible symptoms are: white or red patch on the lips, inside of the mouth or around mouth which has been there for long , loose teeth, bleeding from mouth, soreness of lips and tongue, swelling in mouth, swelling in throat, ulcer of mouth and lips, a lump or thickening of lips mouth or tongue.
Treatment:
After mouth cancer has been established using X- Rays, MRI scan, endoscopy, CT scan and biopsy confirms the multiplicity of cells then the medical practitioner suggests treatment based on the physical stat and age of the patient, extent of infection and location of infection. Radiotherapy is commonly used method where radiation is used to destroy the cancerous cell in the affected area. At times surgery is performed to insert radioactive pellets in or around the tumor which gradually destroys the infected cells.
Surgery is another method used to remove the tumor from the infected area. It may be performed before or after radiotherapy. Chemotherapy is another treatment used for destroying cancerous cells. Anti cancerous drugs are used to shrink the tumor and later on surgery is performed donde comrpar aceite de canabis to remove the infection. Time period of treatment and the strength of the medicine are dependent on the extent of infection.
Oral cancer is very common and can be avoided by taking care of ones lifestyle. Excessive intake of alcohol and cigarettes etc should be avoided. Chewing of tobacco should be strictly avoided and nutritious food should be incorporated in daily diet. After all health is wealth.

or the people of India, environmental conservation is not a new concept. Historically, the protection of nature and wildlife was an ardent article of faith, reflected in the daily lives of people, enshrined in myths, folklore, religion, arts, and culture. Some of the fundamental principles of ecology-the interrelationship and interdependence of all life-were conceptualized in the Indian ethos and reflected in the ancient scriptural text, the Isopanishad, over 2000 years ago. It says, 'This universe is the creation of the Supreme Power meant for the benefit of all his creation. Each individual life-form must, therefore, learn to enjoy its benefits by forming a part of the system in close relation with other species. Let not anyone species encroach upon the other's rights.'
The oldest visual image of the human fascination, love, and reverence for nature in India can be found in the 10,000 year-old cave paintings at Bhimbetka in Central India depicting birds, animals, and human beings living in harmony. The Indus Valley civilization provides evidence of human interest in wildlife, as seen in seals depicting images of rhino, elephant, bull, etc. Historically, conservation of nature and natural resources was an innate aspect of the Indian psyche and faith, reflected in religious practices, folklore, art and culture permeating every aspect of the daily lives of people. Scriptures and preachings that exhort reverence for nature and relate to conservation can be found in most of the religions that have flourished in the Indian subcontinent. Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism, Christianity, Islam; and others place great emphasis on the values, beliefs, and attitudes that relate to the cross-cultural universality of respect for nature and the elements that constitute the universe. The concept of sinning against nature existed in various religious systems. Classical Indian myth is replete with similies of man in unison with the environment. Many of the rituals which to modern society may seem meaningless and superstitious were traditional strategies to preserve the intrinsic relationship between man and nature. The worship of trees, animals, forests, rivers, and the sun, and considering the earth itself as Mother Goddess, were part of the Indian tradition.
Many plants and animals have from historcial times been considered sacred in India by various communities. The most outstanding examples are the peepal tree (Ficus religiosa). The banyan tree (Ficus 'bengelensiss, and Khejdi tree (Prosopis cineraria), and these have been traditionally revered and therefore never cut. There are a number of other trees and plants considered sacred and grown in temple premises and are protected in other localities. More than a hundred such species of trees/plants in India are considered sacred by various communities and religious faiths. These include the sandalwood tree, beetlenut, palm, neem, coconut palm, juniper, champa, lotus, tulsi, pepper, etc. Such traditional cultural attitudes, though based on religious faith, have made significant contribution in the protection and propagation of various species of trees and plants in India.

On a little self governed island in the Irrawaddy River near Mandalay. This little piggy will go to market. He will eventually feed the entire village. A pigs gestation period is 114 days. He’s drinking dehydrated milk and just ate what looked like a jelly fish or plastic wrapper from an unidentified lollie and some leftover tea leaves. His teeth were red I think he got into the beetlenut or ate his brother. (at Mandalay, Myanmar) https://www.instagram.com/p/BuMtEPnDauV/?utm_source=ig_tumblr_share&igshid=1snommnfcddvf
