Holy shit I’ve never heard that adhd can affect you getting drunk but that makes so much sense. Literally everyone I know have said they can never tell that I’m drunk until I’m falling over, or I’ll be drinking twice as much as my friends but feel only buzzed while they’re drunk off their asses already. I thought maybe it was genetic from all the alcoholics in every generation above me lmfao but damn, that neurodiversity and learning later in life really do be like that huh

Yeah it’s so weird because I always thought very similarly until I found out about adhd!! I get tipsy very easily but then i STAY tipsy and don’t get drunk

1/2 (I’m afab/still a daughter in my family’s eyes) I’ve had suspicions that my mom also has adhd since I started learning about genetic links and how undiagnosed adhd looks in older people, but she barely believes/accepts that I have it even after being diagnosed and on meds for a year+ but whatevs. Tonight I was having dinner with grandma and 2 aunts and was like, hey do you guys ever have *huge adhd thing I struggle with*? And they were like, oh my god OF COURSE have you met this family??

2/2 (sorry I tried to make this story shorter) but I definitely did the *jim halpert looking into the camera* face as they start giving me tips that are hella fckin similar to adhd coping skills that I’ve tried to teach myself. I soooo badly wanted to bring up adhd, my mom and brother are the only ones I’ve talked to about it since being diagnosed. But they both give me the same kind of “I don’t rly believe you but you’re already nd so what’s another disorder at this point” reactions ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

That’s such a shame! I have a similar situation with my family, and I decided just to not mention it to them. I share any ADHD strategies I think might help them, and I don’t mention that they’re related to ADHD.

Because as long as you can talk about the relatable things and share tips, does it really matter if they recognise that what they have is ADHD?

I saw someone else send you a similar ask, but I srsly appreciate you So Much for how you bold and italicize words in your posts. It makes it so so much easier for me to read things. I’ve been rly rly struggling with a lot of things I want to do bc it involves reading tons of huge blocks of text. I wish I was smart enough to create a chrome add on or smthg that auto bolds/highlights key words or whatever to help me actually get thru this shit. But yeah anyways thank you

Man, I wish I could make something like that, but I feel like you’d have to create an AI because you need to have some understanding of what you’re reading in order to bold the key words.

But highlighters are always amazing! If you’re reading on paper, maybe highlight things, and if you’re reading online then you could try copy-pasting into a word document and then bolding some of the keywords yourself? (But I suppose the helpfulness of that depends on if you need to keep re-reading the thing)

It’s the last song I listened to on my phone instead of in general, because I’m lazy and it was easier to do it all this way, but it’s super not cheating. And I like my lockscreens and wallpapers to match! Or at very least have a matching theme.

Also I do have apps lol they’re just in other pages of my home screen, where I also have a calendar, two schedule apps and a shortcurt for my email.
