the f1 movie teaser is v weird to me, and i think i cracked why.

so, the director for this film also directed top gun: maverick, and if you watch that movie, whenever they are in the fighter jet, the shot is focused on their face, like so

sure, you get shots of the plane, but not usually of the pilot's perspective (because they aren't actually flying)

in f1, we do get to see them, because they are driving and they are going to show off. we also perceive the car and the pilot as one, and that's because the action is really about the cars. you can watch a formula 1 race and not know anybody's name and it will still be enjoyable, because it's about the racing.

however, in the f1 movie, we care a lot more about the plot. we need to see these drivers' faces and how they are reacting and emoting, so the cameras are placed inside the car, pointing at the camera.

I keep a tennis ball tucked away behind the old crab apple tree on the corner of the property, along an old fence line. That fence line has every dog I've ever known to be my friend buried along it. Years ago I found the tennis ball buried in some grass next to the fence post and wondered how long it had been since I had seen my best childhood friends. I see the grassy clearing every day, I sometimes walk over the same ground I once turned over in grief. Now I hold a little ball of melancholy, weathered and aged. When the evenings are calm and cool I'll take that melancholy for a walk, whistling for dogs that will not come running. I throw the ball, just for myself, into the air and catch it. I walk the fence line, drinking in the evening sun. As the last of the sun's warmth fades and the light fades, I return the ball to its spot on the fence. Is this how shrines started? A token reminder, made into a habit? Is this how

What are some "dream commissions" that you've always wanted to be asked to write?

oh gosh this is a bit difficult to answer! i suppose i’d love to return to any of the worlds/aus i’ve created in the past. i’ve been commissioned for “extra” scenes for of monsters and men and my being human ‘verse before and both were a lot of fun! i enjoy returning to my aus for scenes or pairings that i didn’t get a chance to write or explore deeper for some reason or another.

so yeah!! i guess any commission that allows me a chance to write extras for my completed fics (multichapter or oneshot) would interest me a lot! :’)
